Richmond, TX is home to Cross Key Acres, a quaint farm-style wedding venue and event location. This ideal location offers both the calm of the countryside and the convenience of modern society. Its gorgeous 15-acre property and rustic farmhouse provide a variety of picturesque backdrops for photoshoots, ceremonies, and receptions. Finding the perfect outdoor location for your wedding ceremony is a simple task as a host of enchanting spaces can be found throughout the estate. The grounds boast lush greenery and rolling hillsides, a dreamy setting for any special occasion. A stunning 4,500 square foot barn is a spacious canvas with which to execute elaborate event designs and host exciting receptions. This space features exposed beam ceilings, chandeliers, and large openings that let natural light flood into the area. Originally constructed in 1894, the main farmhouse teems with vintage charm and rounds off an unquestionably distinctive wedding venue. Here, two fabulous get-ready rooms set a relaxing scene where the respective parties can prepare in privacy. Cross Key Acres has several wedding packages available and are carefully structured to offer helpful and practical assistance where required. Should you need additional services or support, the administration is more than happy to facilitate your request. Included in a number of the packages is an event coordinator. This seasoned professional works closely with you, making sure that your vision for your special day is executed to perfection. Every rental includes a host of event items such as linens, reception tables, chairs, and more. Additionally, the staff will take care of the set up and clean up of your function. You are welcome to organize your own vendors, providing that the venue’s administration signs off on them. To make life easier, they offer a list of preferred vendors, most of whom have already proved their service to be of the highest quality.

As a military couple, we had to plan our wedding while being out of state. The moment we hopped on a videocall to tour the venue, Candace was amazing. This venue was exactly what we wanted, close to our family/friends, country feel (while close to the city), and Candace provided the flexibility to make the barn \"ours\". Working with her gave us peace of mind and it all turned out beautifully!

Going with Cross Key Acres was the best decision we made. Candace was so accommodating to literally all of our wishes and absolutely wonderful! The whole setup was so nice and there was tons of space! We had a wedding of 300 guests at the venue and everyone was able to fit comfortably. Candace stayed in communication with us the entire time, the venue was a total vibe, the bar setup, the barn, the gorgeous open land and trees was everything!! She even was able to project the Astros game last minute!!!!!! If you’re looking for a venue then this is the place and Candace will take care of you!!!

Cross Key Acres is the PERFECT wedding venue. Candace, her family, and her entire team of staff are the absolute best people you can work with for a wedding. Our day was perfect and so much of that was because of Candace. Her flexible, inclusive packages made planning so much easier -- especially living over 5 hours away from the venue! I booked the venue sight unseen after my parents toured the venue for me because I just knew I could trust Candace and her beautiful venue to make our day special -- and it sure was!! She helped the day flow cohesively and everything about the venue is just spectacular. I'd describe the venue as having a elegant, rustic feel that serves as a beautiful, neutral backdrop that can be personalized for any bride's style. It's also very handicap accessible which was important for several of our family members. Words can't even express how glad I am that we booked Cross Key Acres for our wedding.

From the views to the venue team, this place was absolutely perfect for our wedding. Candace has everything there for you under one roof if you want an easier planning process. I chose to bring in outside vendors and Candace was there to help me and my vendors every step of the way. She was so easy to communicate with and was so accommodating. I was a nervous Nancy trying to make sure everything would be setup correctly and on time since I opted out of a wedding coordinator, but Candace did so much for me to make me feel more relaxed. I seriously don’t know what I would have done without her! Even though it was cold and rainy on our wedding day, our day was so perfect. Big thank you to Candace for going above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and our ceremony/reception setup was adjusted to accommodate our wants/needs. Also, the valet team.. oh my goodness. The conditions were not fun but they treated us and our guests so wonderfully that you wouldn’t even know they were out in the cold and rain all day/night. Cross Key has an amazing team (Bartenders, police, parking, Candace and her family) that make your day so special. You will not regret having your wedding here.

I could not recommend cross key acres enough!!! Candace is awesome! My husband had previously seen Candace's venue when he was visiting for a work meeting. When we had gotten engaged he kind of tossed it in to the many places we were thinking of having our wedding. It was the first venue we visited and no other place could have beat it after that. Candace used to be a photographer so she is definitely an expert at what she does and all her recommendations were so helpful. We had booked cross key over a year in advance so we had not spoken for a while before the wedding. But anytime time I had a question about the venue or recommendations she quickly would respond to my emails. Once it came to the big day unfortunately my officiant didn't show up on time but Candace helped so much. She put her game face on and helped my mom take over for show until the officiant could come sign our papers. As you could imagine I was very upset when the officiant arrived and Candace took care of that so I didn't have to deal with it . After that everything ran smoothly and we were able to just party all night and dance the night away. If you're thinking about booking... don't wait!!! This venue has so much to offer and is just breath taking! Book as soon as you can!

My husband and I got engaged Feb 2020. Did some hardcore venue searching online and Cross Key was the first place we checked out. We booked the very same day. Something about this place, a simplistic understated elegance it had drew me in and Candace...she was truly a blessing. The lockdowns happened and as every bride-to-be at the time, it was a nightmare. Candace was more than just a day-of-coordinator, she was like a girlfriend that was one email/call/text away. She was always easy to reach, gave great advice throughout and her preferred vendors were all excellent. There’s a preferred vendor for every style and budget! This place is a beautiful blank canvas. We had so many compliments about everything. Our wedding was on the weekend before the big freeze and the barn kept warm just right. I cannot say enough great things, I’d do it all over again and I highly recommend Cross Key Acres !!

Absolutely beautiful venueThis venue is a hidden gem. Set way back off the main road, this venue is a beautiful place to hold your wedding and/or reception. Candace, the owner, is hands on 100%. She was there from the beginning of planning to the sparkler exit. She made sure everything was seamless and I didn’t have to do or think about anything. It was worth the price. We got tons of compliments from our guests on how beautiful it was. I highly recommend this venue for your wedding and/or reception.

We are SO glad we chose Cross Key Acres as our venue for our wedding reception. The setting was exactly what we were looking for with the beautiful, rustic barn vibe. The barn structure was perfect because it is enclosed with AC (or heating depending on time of year) and it has clear walls so you can see the beautiful 15 acres of land. Not only is the venue absolutely beautiful, but the owner, Candace, was amazing to work with. She was available by text, phone call, or email pretty much any time. She used to be a photographer, so she knows the wedding industry really well and has a great list of preferred vendors that we used. Planning a wedding can be tough, especially on a tight budget, but having Candace as our go to person for any questions made it a lot less stressful. I cannot speak highly enough of Candace and her family. She has a lot of decorations that you can use which saved us a lot of time and money. She took care of everything the day of to make sure everything ran smoothly. I saw a picture on her instagram of these cute wooden signs on the side of the road leading to the venue. Each sign had the \"Love is patient, Love is Kind\" bible verse so the guests can read them as they drive in. I had asked her about them ahead of time since I saw them on instagram from a previous wedding at Cross Keys. She had let us know that she did not own those signs and they were a previous bride's decor but she said the bride now rents them out if we wanted to do that. We loved the idea but we were already over our budget so we decided to pass on them. On our wedding day as we were driving up to the reception, we saw that the signs were there! She went out of her way and rented the signs on her own to surprise us! That is just one of the many examples I could give of how Candace went above and beyond to make our wedding and the entire planning process wonderful and a lot less stressful. Another example of how awesome they are....We provided our own alcohol for the reception and about an hour into our reception she let us know that we only had about 2 cases of beer left! We thought that we had bought more than enough, but it was a hot day and everyone was drinking beer instead of the wine. Her husband ended up running to the store to pick up several more cases so that we wouldn't run out. Otherwise, we would have had to bug one of our family members or friends to leave the reception to pick it up. I highly recommend anyone to have their wedding/reception at Cross Key Acres! You will not be disappointed!

Cross Key Acres, and it’s owner, Candace, were absolute TOP NOTCH in every sense of the word/phrase! She was always available, whether it be for something with logistics or just for a quick opinion or piece of advice! She goes above and beyond to make your special day the best it can possibly be! I’ll just give an example: About halfway through our reception, she came up to me and said we were down to only a couple cases of beer left, and she offered to have her husband go out and get more for us! To give that much care and attention to something like that meant so much to us, and truly made us feel like family and not “clients.” I recommend Cross Key Acres 1000% and if you have the chance, go check it out!

Cross Key Acres is like a blank canvas, ready to be painted in whatever way the bride wants. This is exactly what my daughter did by making this canvas come to life. She wanted a venue that allowed her to get married outdoors in a beautiful setting. She wanted an elegant cocktail hour and reception. My daughter had a vision and it was realized fully. Candace Byers, the owner and \"day of the wedding event coordinator\" was great to work with. First, her venue package included many services that other venues did not, which helped to keep costs down. She was easy to work with, fielding many anxious calls from my daughter, understanding and alleviating her concerns. She was flexible and thoughtful especially in dealing with possible rain options which definitely threatened us on the big day. And, she remained cheerful and helpful throughout the wedding day. All in all, the venue was exactly what my daughter wanted. The first pictures that we have seen clearly supports how beautiful Cross Key Acres is. A great place to get married!

Look no further than Cross Key Acres! They have such a beautiful venue and you get so much bang for your buck! Not to mention, you get Candace, who is the owner/day of coordinator. Candace makes things happen. She was essential in helping me plan my wedding and would go above and beyond to make sure we were at ease. If anything went wrong on the big day, I didn't know about it because she took care of it all! Candace would respond to my emails quickly, let me come out to tour the venue several times, meet with any potential vendors that I wanted to use, and so much more. I cannot express how pivotal she was in making our big day such a success. Also, since this is a family owned venue, she allows you to bring your vision to life with hardly any restrictions which is just amazing and hard to come by. I had so many guests tell me it was one of the best venues they've ever been to in Houston. Cross Key Acres is beyond perfect and I cannot recommend it enough. I would do my wedding there over and over again.

I can't say enough good things about Candace and her venue. It's a hidden gem in Richmond, TX! Candace was incredibly down-to-earth, honest, and kind. Honestly, I felt as if I was planning my wedding with my favorite family friend. Her background in wedding photography clearly made a difference in how she chooses her vendors, how she prices the packages, and how she guides her brides. Of all the things I loved, the food from Good Company was amazing, cooked ON-SITE. Our guests are still raving about it! Looking back, I'm so glad I didn't get married anywhere else.

Cross Key Acres is such an amazing venue! Everything was so perfect on our special day. Not only will you get the best pictures because the property itself is gorgeous but the barn is absolutely perfect! Candace was an absolutely dream to work with and anything that I needed she made happen and was always available for any questions I had! She offered advice about what worked for weddings in the past since she’s been there and this was my first rodeo. I would absolutely have my wedding here again and would highly recommend to anyone looking at having their special day here!

It was an absolutely picture perfect day for Jason and Courtney’s special Day. The plantation-like property is a beautiful backdrop for wedding and engagement photos. The reception pavilion, package pricing and vendor options to create the bride and groom’s perfect celebration was on target with our budget!!! The best part of the full experience was the detailed attention that Candace gave us during our whole journey from start to finish. Thank you for all you did for my son and his bride!!!! You are amazing!!!!

This venue was perfect!!! It was so pretty and we got so many compliments on the venue. We barely added any decorations because the property had so much beauty. Candace the owner is the best!! I can’t say enough about how much we appreciate what she did for us. My wedding went off without a hitch!!! She helped me plan the whole thing, she helped give me vendor suggestions and her expertise, I relied on her opinion about where things should go and what works best! She is so awesome!!! I wish I could give cross key acres 10 stars!!

I would venture and say that Cross Key Acres is possibly the best wedding venue in the Houston area, and most definitely the south-west region. Unlike a number of venues which tend to look a bit over-done and artificial, this place has a simplistic beauty that feels so natural and romantic. There was no need to really decorate, because the place itself was gorgeous on its own. On top of this, the staff, and specifically Candace herself, are top notch. Candace has such an expertise with weddings after years of being a wedding photographer, and she knows exactly what it takes to pull off a beautiful wedding seamlessly (and she gives that advice freely). The gorgeous lawn, quaint home, beautiful pavilion, towering trees, and valet service (I could go on) makes this venue just perfect. You may overlook this place like I did initially, because there aren't any pictures on the knot (or at least weren't when I was looking) and not a ton of reviews, but trust me. Look up their website and go take a visit to the Richmond/Sugarland area. You will not be sorry. I think that's it, but Candace, if you're reading this, you have an incredible place there and the way you authentically engage with people is so refreshing. Do not change a thing. :)

We cannot express how thankful my husband and I are for Cross Key Acre. Through our process we were assisted by Candace. She was amazing and very kind and professional with a lot of southern hospitality. We love her! The venue itself was gorgeous. My husband is from Houston and I am from Mississippi, so we were looking for a place that gave us a southern country feel but had some modern hints and that’s exactly what we got with Cross Key Acres “country in the city” feel. We knew we wanted to have a small intimate wedding of no more than 15 guests and finding venues that had packages for elopement/small intimate weddings were hard to come by. Cross Key Acres met our needs and surpassed our expectations. Candace even customize the package since we were getting married in less than a month. We will be repeat customers for other events and have already recommended them to our friends and family and anyone who are looking for a venue.

WOW! I cannot say enough great things about Candace and Cross Key Acres! Immediately when we drove down the beautiful driveway we knew it was exactly what we were looking for AND at an unbeatable price!!!! Wanting an organic, field feel for our ceremony and a clean, modern white barn for our reception, it was literally perfect. Because of the simple beauty of the space, it allowed for as much or as little creative as I wanted. Candace was so flexible and was always quick at responding to my many questions before our wedding day. As the bride, I didn't feel any stress the day of because of the peace Candace and her team carried (even with a thunderstorm rolling in!!!). I am so thankful for this beautiful venue and family for hosting the most amazing, beautiful and Holy day of my life!

Cross Key Acres was the perfect venue for our daughter’s wedding. We knew this was the right place from the moment we drove onto the property. It is so peaceful and beautiful. There are so many options for the ceremony site and the pavilion is a perfect reception area. The forecast called for rain but Candace had a backup plan. Fortunately it wasn’t needed and the wedding was perfect. She was so easy to work with and very accommodating with all of our requests. This was our 3rd wedding in 21 months with each at a different venue. Cross Key was the only venue that did not feel as though we were “nickel and dimed” for every detail. We received above and beyond what we expected. They offer packages that are well thought out and worth every penny. All of the staff Cross Key provided were professional with outstanding service. Candace’s assistance, guidance, patience and calm demeanor allowed the planning, preparation and wedding to go smoothly. The fact that we were able to set up the day before was monumental! It was so refreshing to work with Candace and her husband because we didn’t feel like “just the next wedding.” They had a genuine interest and care to make sure our daughter’s wedding was special and everything she and her husband envisioned. Candace and her husband have truly opened their home and their hearts to those that choose to host their wedding at Cross Key Acres. Whether you’re looking to be a DIY bride or have a more inclusive package, Cross Key Acres can offer it all! We were so happy with the vendors that regularly work with the venue that we didn’t even look for anyone else. Guests were truly astounded by the beauty of the space all afternoon. If you’re looking for a small piece of heaven that’s not too far from the big city, Cross Key Acres is it! We couldn’t have planned for a more beautiful and special day to start the rest of our lives.

I lost my original venue because of hurricane Harvey. It was a stressful time for many reasons. But I am so blessed we found cross key acres. This place is gorgeous! Perfect for a wedding big or small. And the owners treat you like family. They are very expirenced and take care of you. I did not have to worry about a thing day of! If I could do it all again.. this would be my first choice! Check it out!

There is no one better than Candace! From engagement to wedding day, she was perfect! She captured our relationship and personalities so well, and was attentive to the smallest details. She also was open to ideas I had for the day of; I had a few specific pictures she was more than happy to accommodate into the photo day. All in all, there is no one better that we could have chosen.
