We had our wedding at Crossed Keys Estate 11/11/2023 and it was absolute perfection! We loved that this venue is family-owned and run, and only does one wedding a day-making it a truly bespoke wedding experience. The venue is modern and beautiful, and accommodated our 250 guests perfectly with plenty of space. The food exceeded our expectations, and we had a food-loving crowd with very high standards! The Lechon station is a literal must- people will not stop talking about how delicious it was, and being Puerto Rican and Cuban, it quite literally is not a party without this dish! The after-party empanadas were also a crowd favorite. The flowers and decor were breathtaking, Jessica was so wonderful to work with, accommodating our budget and any requests, and her work is truly outstanding. The day went seamlessly, and Katherine, Kyle, and Kiersten really made sure we had everything we wanted and that everything ran smoothly. I really can’t recommend CKE enough, we are so grateful for the entire team for making our day so perfect! Reviewed on 21-01-2024

Our wedding at CKE in June of 2023 was one of the most magical days of our lives! Their team is an incredible group that really do their best to make your vision come to life. Our coordinator Katrina was so kind, gentle, and supportive… Jess & her floral team perfectly crafted the image I brought to them… the food was phenomenal and the day-of staff was wonderful. We have and will continue to recommend CKE to any and everyone we can! If you are considering a wedding here you will not regret it. The place itself is a vision… any and everything you do to customize your day just gives it extra beauty! Thank you Katherine, Kyle, Jess, Katrina and the whole team! Reviewed on 19-01-2024

I do not know where to start complimenting Crossed Keys. Absolutely everything was perfect not just the day of the wedding but everything leading up to it. Planning with Crossed Keys was every bride's dream. I barely had to think about anything and they were communicative, accommodating and extremely dependable. The venue is magical, I had multiple guests saying it felt like a Disney wedding from the setting and that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The food was amazing, no one could get enough. We are three months later and my guests are still talking about it and asking about specific dishes from cocktail hour so they could try and recreate it. The service staff was so incredibly kind and our sweetheart table constantly had food and drinks on it. The getting ready space is a makeup artists dream and we couldn't stop finding new spots to take pictures in. I mean everything was perfect, moved like clockwork and stress free. To say this team is professional would be the understatement of the century, they. are. magical. I can't say thank you enough or praise them enough, do yourself a favor and have your wedding here - you won't regret it! Reviewed on 06-01-2024

I’ll start with WOW. There are literally no words that can describe how amazing and perfect my wedding day was all thanks to the CKE team. Jess, Kyle, Katrina, Sam and the rest of the team really blew me away. My wedding day ended up being a cold, rainy September day, and I was honestly heartbroken. The grounds of the estate are unbelievably beautiful, and it’s all I pictured for my wedding day. When I had to face the facts that my ceremony would be inside, I was really having a hard time picturing it and coming to terms with it, even though there was nothing I could do. I spoke about a rain plan with Jess the day before, and she put me at ease. When it was time to walk down the aisle and I saw the indoor ceremony set up, I literally cried. It was incredible. I knew it would be of course, the inside of CKE is just as beautiful as the outside, but when all you can picture for 2 years is getting married in front of the stone cottage, it’s hard to think about it in any other way. Beyond that, we did the first look and family pictures in the conservatory and I was literally blown away by the pictures! Once I was inside, I didn’t even think about the outside anymore. Everything was so stunning, I still don’t even have words. The conservatory, the flowers, the tables, the sweetheart table, the ceremony arch, I mean every part was just breathtaking, I still tear up when I think about it! I am forever grateful to the CKE team for turning my wedding dreams into a reality, calming my very anxious wedding nerves, and just making our wedding day the absolute best, most beautiful day of our lives. It’s been a few months since our wedding, and our guests are STILL raving about the food and how absolutely stunning CKE was! Everyone said it was the best food at a wedding that they’ve had, and they wish they could go back to eat! My one regret is that I didn’t get to try all the food because I was so preoccupied! All in all, I would get married at CKE over and over again if I could. Everything about our experience was extraordinary and I still cannot get over how beautiful of a venue it is. Thank you to all the staff and everyone who was involved in our wedding day. We are forever grateful. Reviewed on 11-12-2023

There are not enough words to describe our unforgettable experience at Crossed Keys Estate. I wish I could give their team more than 5 stars! When we started our wedding planning process a few years back I was feeling discouraged. My now husband and I knew we wanted our wedding to be local, but I had a specific vision in mind that I felt would be hard to find in NJ. Most NJ venues had the same ballroom vibe that I was not going for. I wanted a space that if the weather was bad and we had to move our reception inside, I would not be upset. I also wanted to be able to customize a space without clashing with the venue's décor. INSERT CROSSED KEYS ESTATE! As soon as I pulled up to the property for our tour I knew I had to book this venue. Floor to ceiling windows, property that feels like you're in a fairytale, hardwood floors (YES, most venues in NJ have carpet that typically has an outdated design that I felt would clash with my aesthetic), and the most incredible glass conservatory that I did not even know their team was building at the time. I was so lucky that there was 1 free Saturday left for a 2023 October wedding (dreamt of an outdoor Autumn wedding since I was a little girl). From the day we booked Crossed Keys to the days following our wedding the service has been impeccable. Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful, but working with the Crossed Keys team was the best part. They made planning so seamless! I have to give a special shout out to their floral team for making my untraditional wedding visions come to life. When I saw the space for the first time on our wedding day I was fighting back tears. The attention to detail was ON POINT. The amount of effort their team put in to making my Pinterest dreams come to life made our day even that more special. I am forever thankful and grateful to have had the pleasure of working with the Crossed Keys team and to have been able to share this special place with family and friends on our wedding day. The day after our wedding we were inundated with messages from our guests expressing how this was the best wedding they've been to. From the jaw dropping space/property, friendly & white glove staff/service, to the farm to table food and drinks (which to be honest is not always the best at weddings) everything exceeded expectations of what I thought our wedding day would be like. I wish we could do it all over again! So to all the future brides who are considering Crossed Keys Estate, DO IT. You will not regret booking their team for one of the most special days of your life!!!! -More than thankful The Bogliolis (Gina, Scott & our dog Auggie who yes, was the flower girl at our wedding another plus of booking Crossed Keys!!!!!!!!) There are no words... this tam is a powerhouse! Fantastic to work with since the day we met them - but to say that they exceeded our hopes and dreams would be an understatement. Melissa and Michael's wedding was perfect! The flowers were so exquisite - the chuppa was the most gorgeous we have ever seen - from the aisle to the magnificent tables, the colors and composition were breathtaking. Melissa's dream come true! The entire staff did an impeccable job. Delicious fantastic and beautiful too. The cocktail hour was one delectable taste after another. Marvelous service from everyone throughout the evening. Gracious, elegant, welcoming. Wonderful pacing - although it all goes too fast! The Farmhouse and Conservatory looked like a wonderland - our guests were completely wowed! It is the most special venue and created a treasured experience. Reviewed on 21-11-2023

Crossed Keys Estate was a dream come true for my husband and I. From the moment we stepped foot inside the venue and got a warm welcoming tour from the owner Katherine, we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. The venue is a perfect blend of rustic farmhouse and modern luxury (especially with the new conservatory!) Planning a wedding is hard enough, and planning a multicultural wedding with 2 ceremonies in 1 day proved to have its challenges, but the entire CKE staff made our wedding planning super easy from start to finish and stress free. Katherine, Danielle & Jessica were super responsive to all of our emails and really took the time to ensure we were getting everything we wanted for our big day. The flowers and decor came out GORGEOUS, Jessica and her team really captured my vision and I still can’t get over how beautiful all of our flowers looked. I honestly don’t think there is anything the CKE team can’t do, they value family and traditions and we could not be more grateful to have worked with the entire team. Our whole day went absolutely perfect, even with the rain, our indoor ceremonies were absolutely stunning and we could not have asked for a more perfect October wedding day. Our guests cannot stop raving about how beautiful & unique the venue is, and how delicious the food was. From cocktail hour, to dinner & our late night treat of apple cider donuts & pies, everything we ate was amazing (we also loved the lobster rolls!) I really wish we had time to eat more, haha! The entire staff and everyone we interacted with were super friendly & professional and I can truly go on and on about how wonderful our experience was. We couldn't have been happier with our entire experience at Crossed Keys. As soon as we saw the venue last summer, my now husband and I fell in love with it. The space is truly jaw dropping - with the beautifully manicured gardens as a setting for the ceremony, and the stunning farmhouse. We had seen a few other venues that were just far too....rustic. Crossed Keys gives you the feeling of a farmhouse, but with luxury. Not to mention the new Conservatory for cocktail hour and the afterparty. The space couldn't have been more perfect! And the staff as well. We worked with Kyle, Katherine and Karina and they were all incredibly responsive during the planning process, and so helpful and attentive the day of our wedding. It couldn't have gone more smoothly. The food at both cocktail hour and the reception was delicious - our guests really raved about it! Highly recommend this incredible venue. Reviewed on 10-08-2023

I can start with the easy things that virtually every guest commented on once the wedding was over... the venue is incredible, the food is notably amazing, and the staff was ever-present and extremely attentive. Outside of that, it's tough to fully express the benefit/impact on the wedding planning process of having an authentically family run business guide you through every step of the way. The Crossed Keys family looks to ensure you are taken care of at every turn because it truly means that much to them. And this sentiment successfully permeates through the entire staff, from the owners to the coordinators to the servers and bartenders. Everyone executes as if they have a personal stake in the success of the event, from start to finish. There's simply so much that can be said but it's all positive. It is a true end-to-end experience with the CKE team and the final result is purely magical. Reviewed on 24-07-2023

Each member of the CKE team is not only extremely talented, but made us feel like family. I started listing examples and realized it would have been a novel by the time I was finished...so I will keep it short and sweet. Pat Heimall(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2022 There is not enough space allotted here to describe how wonderful our wedding experience with Crossed Keys was, just this past weekend on 9/17/22. The cohesive team led by Katherine Rodriquez, her husband Celso, and daughter & son-in-law, Jessica & Kyle, could not have done anything more to make our day special! The Estate is truly a hidden gem tucked away in Sussex County, & every effort is made to make it feel like YOUR home for the day - all while catering to the needs of wedding guests that for us, numbered close to 200. The grounds are well-maintained, the spacious area brought comfort - not crowding - for all involved, & the food & floral decor were not to be compared to any experienced before. This was our third child’s wedding, & the attention rendered by Katherine on wedding day (& before, as I requested some garden trimming due to this year’s drought!) was truly heartwarming. I have never before experienced such hands on treatment - from shortly after our morning arrival for hair/makeup sessions, right on through visits throughout the balance of the day, continuing up until our final moments of departure at the end of the night. Katherine’s personal touch was evident in details not often seen, but that left a lingering sense of caring: she made multiple stops to visit during our “getting ready” time to ask that all was well - & made a photography suggestion that was one of the most emotional moments of the day for me, a father-bride “first look” before the one with the groom! - then later personally delivered 2 plates of appetizers ( & beverage!) to this mother of the bride who was too busy socializing to visit the multiple stations (what a loss that would have been!), & helped enable transport of flowers to our cars at the end of the night. Her presence & concern for perfection was noted by our guests as well . Katherine is an Energizer bunny who is invaluable to every bride hoping for a perfect day! She was ably assisted by our “day of” coordinators, Katrina & Valerie, & Danielle in the office; each of these ladies also helped to make the day run smoothly. There are other details unique to Crossed Keys that also should be considered. Lunch is served to both the bridesmaids & groomsmen on the day of the wedding, at separate locations, an offering that makes for one less detail to plan - but is an important one for a long, busy day. Only one wedding each day takes place at this location, making it truly “your own” for this special time. There are so many spots for photo ops on the grounds that it’s hard to decide which to use! Reviews by our guests were beyond favorable for both the cocktail hour & dinner menus - & then there was dessert time! Highlights ranged from the German station serving “just like homemade” potato salad to the well-received fish tacos, delicious empanadas & bacon-wrapped scallops, a family favorite of lamb chops, & then came dinner time: portions of rib eye steak & chicken cutlet that were beyond ample, a ginger garlic sauce on salmon that was savored - & dessert that went far beyond just wedding cake & ice cream. Cannolis & German chocolate cake followed, & then it was time for s’mores by the fire pit, with milkshakes to wash them down! Perfect for our 7 grandchildren who attended - & felt comfortable enough to visit the bridal area upstairs for a brief recharge during reception time. Closing with compliments for Jessica’s floral skills; she knows her territory well, & brought the look we wanted! Reviewed on 22-09-2022

We were finally married there last Friday night, and boy was it worth the 21 months we waited to do so. Our maitre d' Katrina thought of everything we would need to consider and decide on before the big day, and seamlessly coordinated it all for us. Brides and Grooms, it helps to pick a place that is a WEDDING VENUE first and foremost. You are their priority, and they find a way to make each client feel special and attended to. Most importantly, the venue provided all day access including spaces to get ready in and take photos, the ceremony space, the food and alcohol including our wedding cake, as well as the floral and event design services. In addition they gave us a list of local recommended vendors, several of which we used and fully surpassed our expectations.Once we arrived that morning and dropped off our decorations everything was handled for us by Katherine and Katrina. So we got to be present and enjoy every moment of getting ready with our friends and family in the beautiful Playhouse and Parlor spaces. The flow of the day was so perfect. The ceremony ran smoothly and after exchanging vows we floated effortlessly from the gardens, to the cocktail hour under the tent, to the reception in the modern farmhouse with both a natural ease and a building momentum. By the time our guests had devoured the cocktail hour stations and taken a million photos around the property they were ready to DANCE. And the newly constructed ballroom was ready for them - meticulously styled by Jessica's bright flower arrangements and hanging wisteria from the chandeliers. We dined and danced all night long. We've been to a lot of weddings, and we can say this food was some of the best! I'm still dreaming about the many courses we enjoyed, and the never ending flow of drinks. It made us happy to know that people enjoyed the food and space as much as we had.Lastly, the gardens and grounds are more beautiful than we could have imagined - photos of the property and its gorgeous ballroom somehow don't do it justice. It is magical, and the romantic English garden has you feeling like you are transported to another time. We can't say enough how much we loved our wedding day, and the responsibility Crossed Keys Estate had in that. It surpassed all our expectations. Huge thanks to the Rodriguez family for everything. It was the best day of our lives! Reviewed on 15-06-2022

It was absolutely our dream wedding venue and we are so lucky to have found it. The CKE team are true professionals. My best advice is to just trust them every step of the way because they know how to make the day run smoothly while feeling intimate & so so special. The spaces for the bridal party to get dressed are beautiful, the grounds are the perfect back drop for a romantic, natural ceremony + photos, and the reception hall is jaw dropping with the huge a-frame window. We really loved how it felt like we were getting three different venues in one as the day moved from the garden, to the tented patio, and then inside. Our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the venue is but the real show stopper was the food! We heard from everyone how delicious cocktail hour, dinner and dessert was. My husband and I were busy running around most of the night and our biggest mistake was not eating enough during cocktail hour! There was a staff member following us around with a tray, but I made the mistake of being overwhelmed & not taking advantage of them. If I had one wish I wish that a sampler of the appetizers were placed on our table for us to try during dinner when we had a moment to sit down.We wish we could go back and relive this day, with this team, every weekend! I think my husband spoke to him about 2 times a month from the second we booked our wedding which was a year in advance- he is one of the reasons we felt so good about booking here!Jessica, head of the floral/design team was a dream to work with. She took my vision and escalated it to heights I didn't know existed- I was in complete awe walking into the room on the day of my wedding. She answered every question and displayed kindness and patience throughout the whole process. We immediately fell in love with the look of the venue and the fact that it was family owned and run, but the team was really was won us over.I also haven't stopped getting texts about how amazing the food was since our wedding!!! The grounds are stunning, and there are so many special places on the property to enjoy. The new, well-appointed indoor Farmhouse is truly a beautiful addition to the outdoor space. I mention all of this because while we were so looking forward to holding our ceremony outside in the beautiful garden, it began raining a few hours before the ceremony, and we had to pivot to the indoor Farmhouse space. We were not disappointed – the staff showed their professionalism and agility in converting the indoor reception space for the ceremony and then back again in a seamless fashion. Most of our guests had no idea they were in the same space! We held the after-party at the venue under the heated tent and outdoor by the fire pit with smores and hot chocolate. They were also great at accommodating an outside cigar and whiskey bar hired for the after-party. It was perfect! A big shout out to Kyle, Jessica, Katherine, Katrina, Danielle, and the rest of the wonderful team at Crossed Keys. Deanna Cohn(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2021 It is hard to know where to begin when trying to pick the “highlights” of having our wedding at Crossed Keys Estate, because truly the entire experience from start to finish was nothing short of perfection. We ended up visiting Crossed Keys with out parents, and I think it is safe to say that on that first day when we saw the bare bones of the farmhouse, we all knew immediately that it was going to be the absolute perfect place to get married. The entire Rodriguez/Hanselman family was so genuine and wonderful to us, that it not only seemed like the perfect place for the wedding, but the perfect people to help us get our vision to come to life. In our early planning stages, Katherine and Jessica were extremely organized and communicated very clearly about when and what they needed from us. We met with Jessica for our floral consultation with Crossed Keys Designs on March 14, 2020 as the world began shutting down, and at that point had no idea that we would even have to consider moving our October 2020 wedding. We were looking for simple, fall decor for our wedding, but we knew we were still going to have about 200 people and would want flowers to bring the farmhouse to life. Jess took exactly what we envisioned and presented it to us in an easy to navigate proposal. When we began to realize that postponing may be our best option, the entire Crossed Keys team presented us with our options and made the process of changing as easy as possible. During our engagement, Crossed Keys launched a wedding portal website that was easy to navigate and so helpful in keeping everything organized. If you go with Crossed Keys, you do not need an additional planner as they keep everything organized and provide day-of coordinators who take care of EVERYTHING! And I really mean everything! Leading up to our wedding, we worked mostly with Katrina, who was happy to chat on the phone or answer emails whenever we had questions. When our bus company canceled on us a week before our wedding, Crossed Keys almost knew about it before we did as they were checking in with them independently to make sure they had everything correctly! Crossed Keys is truly a “one stop shop.” The morning of getting ready in the playhouse with my best girl friends, mom, MIL, and grandma was so special and gave me memories that will truly last forever. The grounds were AMAZING for photos and for the bridal party to hang out around while we did our photos. It seriously looks like we took our photos in a botanical garden somewhere! We have heard nothing but absolutely RAVING reviews from all of our wedding guests stating that the grounds, building, food, beverage service, florals, and EVERYTHING were absolutely amazing! As a complete and total foodie, I knew that wherever we chose to get married would have to have amazing food options, and Crossed Keys fulfilled that completely. At our cocktail hour, we had a pastrami/Jewish deli station as well as a pasta bar, which perfectly satiated both of our Jewish and Italian sides of the family. I can’t forget that every vendor that we hired was from the Crossed Keys recommended vendor list, and they were ALL amazing. I’ll wrap up with what I think is the most important thing about Crossed Keys, they are a family and they truly treat their couples like family. Thank you Jessica, Katherine, Katrina, Kyle, Joanna, and EVERYONE who helped make our day- know that it was truly perfect and we could not recommend you guys more! Reviewed on 27-10-2021

Kristin Scarcella(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-10-2020 Disappointed. The venue was very beautiful, the décor was great and the food was good but there were quite a few issues. The night before the wedding at the b&b (that you are required to pay for regardless if you want to stay there or not) my bridal party and flower girl got back from dinner and we were upstairs talking. My 3 year old flower girl was running around and the owner came upstairs to ask us to keep it down and that she was running around right above their bedroom and they needed to sleep. I totally understand needing to sleep, but it was the night before my wedding. They shouldn’t require you to pay for the b&b if they don’t want you making any noise at all. I would have gladly stayed at a hotel the night before if I wasn’t forced to pay for the b&b rooms. The groom was handed a bill 10 minutes before he walked down the aisle. The bill was also already payed for and they returned to say it was their mistake and that they did in fact receive payment. The groom mistakenly pulled out the bill when reaching in his pocket for the vows. It was totally unnecessary and inappropriate to present the bill at that time. Big miscommunication about our minimum requirement for guests during covid. We were told they would work with what we can get and that they just want us to have our wedding. And then we were sent a bill with the regular requirement from the original contract. No one reached out to try to work with us before sending the bill. I felt they were trying to get us to pay for the full amount without us realizing. Before the ceremony there was very little direction about what was going on. People started arriving and I hid so no one could see me and then the ceremony music started and the groom and groomsmen were just told to walk up when the plan was for them to be standing up there already when the music started. We felt a little lost and confused right before walking down the aisle and there wasn’t any guidance. Due to the weather, we had to adjust our seating arrangements in the tent so that people wouldn’t be as close to the sides (it was raining and cold). I (the bride) was emailed the day before to switch around tables. The night before the wedding I spent time readjusting seats, only to see the next day, the tables were not set up the way I had emailed. This was frustrating because I took time out of my day, when I had so much going on, to rearrange the seats and then we had family seating further away from family we wanted them next to. We were able to choose if we wanted signature drinks and we took the time to come up with them, only to see they were not on display, so no one knew about them. They never told us we needed to provide our own signs for them, so we have no idea what happened and why they weren’t there, but we were very disappointed. They also told us each table would have individual charcuterie boards, however the day of they were not there and instead served buffet style. This was never communicated to us. Danielle Frappolli(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-11-2020 There are no words to express our satisfaction and gratitude to the Crossed Keys Estate team and family! We had our wedding at CKE on November 1, 2020 and it was the most beautiful and magical night that I could have imagined. We were supposed to get married in April 2020 but due to COVID had to postpone. Jessica and her family were not only supportive and helpful during this entire process but made everything brighter and took care of us during this stressful time. The details and thoughtfulness that this team puts into every single detail of your wedding is unmatched. I feel so thankful to have found them and worked with them. Every part of their planning and execution was top notch. The food was divine ( especially the appetizers, my guests are still raving about them). The décor and flowers were breathtaking. I am still dreaming about the Farmhouse set up, which we used for our ceremony due to bad weather) and the tent (which felt like Jessica and team found out what my ultimate dream wedding would be and then brought it to life). Planning and having a wedding during COVID was such an emotional ride and having CKE I knew no matter what the regulations were or the state of the state they were going to make my day perfect and special! The Farmhouse is truly the most beautiful venue, the floor to ceiling window is stunning, the high ceilings and chic farmhouse vibes are the best combination of a rustic chic feel. The bathrooms in the Farmhouse also deserve their own mention, they are so gorgeous. The bridal suite, where we spent time before the ceremony was a major photo opt! We got ready in the playhouse which was also so cute and had a very cozy pretty vibe. Night of Kyle and Catherine made me feel like part of the family and were so attentive. They were making sure everything was how I wanted it, offering their advice to help me and so flexible as things came up and changed. When they told me we would have to wrap things up in 5-10 minutes for our exit I wanted to cry, I did not want to ever leave that tent! I will recommend this venue to everyone and anyone I meet who is getting married. I truly could not imagine a better wedding venue. I am so happy I got to share this journey and night with this family and I will be in touch with them forever! Reviewed on 13-11-2020
Jacquelyn Severino(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-08-2020 I would highly recommend The Crossed Keys Estate for your wedding venue! They were so helpful and generous. My husband and I got married during Covid times, so this really had made everything we already planned go out the window, or so we thought. Jessica and the rest of the team really stepped up, we continued our planning for our date, we moved it outside instead of the beautiful farmhouse and the wedding went on without a hitch. I was absolutely shocked when I saw the tent and how everything was set up so beautifully, really couldn't imagine a wedding fitting more our style then what we had. I have always been big on my wedding and how I vision it, and The Crossed Keys team really made it beyond my dreams, EVEN DURING COVID! Not only was the Jessica and team there every step of the way to make me feel safe about having a wedding during covid, but day of, we were catered to and I felt like a princess. I am so happy I choose to have my wedding here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a venue in NJ. Reviewed on 13-10-2020
Sarah Mozer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-08-2020 After discovering this venue, we fell in love with every aspect Crossed Keys Estate has to offer. The love and care that goes into events held here far surpasses one’s expectations. From the moment we met with the Crossed Keys staff, we knew that our search for a venue was over. Katherine and Jessica were extremely friendly and accommodating to the point you immediately feel like you’re a part of their loving family. The history of how they turned their family business into a beautiful venue is astounding. We found great comfort in booking our big day with Crossed Keys Estate and the planning process was conducted in an extremely professional and proficient manner. When our original plans to have an indoor wedding was no longer possible due to COVID, the CKE team hosted our event outside and it was beyond beautiful. Jessica was so attentive during communication with us, and made planning during a pandemic as seamless as possible. From the set-up, to the food, to the staff and the precautions taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our guests, we were simply astonished. The floral arrangements Jessica elegantly created were stunning. CKE ensures that your day will be worry-free but done so in such a loving and caring manner. Their estate is beautiful, and meticulously maintained. Simply put, this is not a wedding-mill but rather a gorgeous venue with excellent food, delicately run by the most kind and caring family! Lillian Carone(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-08-2020 There truly aren’t the right words to say how incredible this venue is, but I will try. From the moment we stepped foot onto the property and shook Katherine’s hand (actually, I think she pulled me in and hugged me), we knew this was where we would get married. We were drawn to Crossed Keys because of the stunning scenery everywhere you look, but it was more than beauty to the eyes. There is just this feeling of magic we felt every time we visited the venue, which was just magnified times a million on the day of our wedding. It all felt like a dream and I’d love to go back and relive it. Jessica, Katherine, Kyle, and the whole Crossed Keys Team worked TIRELESSLY throughout the planning process and during the event to make sure everything ran smoothly. Knowing that you can put your complete and utter trust into a group of people with food, florals and pretty much everything that has to do with your wedding is priceless. They are worth every penny. The venue is incredible, with or without the farmhouse that they just built (we couldn’t use it as we planned because of covid but it’s amazing). Our guests felt like they were transported to a magical fairy tale land where they felt joyful and safe. Jessica’s patience and overall good vibes ensured us both that they cared about taking safety measures seriously and that they were going to do everything possible to make sure our wedding was the dream we always wanted. I can’t imagine a better or more beautiful place to have your wedding with or without a pandemic. We really can’t thank Jessica and the team at Crossed Keys enough for making this the best day ever. The team at Crossed Keys went above an beyond to come up with a new plan for us (which they executed to perfection). They made sure that our wedding did not feel \"mini\" or \"micro\" which was my biggest concern in the planning process. We continue to receive compliments from our guests that the floral arrangements and scenery were stunning. Our photographer mentioned that he was overwhelmed by all of the photo opportunities the property offered. The food was also delicious and far exceeded our expectations (meals were boxed for safety reasons). Jessica was there the entire day making sure everything ran smoothly. We highly recommend Crossed Keys Estate. The team there is hardworking, beyond creative and flexible. Most importantly, they care about their couples. After discovering their micro-wedding package online, my husband and I knew we had to jump on this opportunity! Due to the pandemic regulations, we had to cancel at our original venue since they did not have an outside area and us not wanting to wait a year to tie the knot. As soon as we walked in an sat down with Kathy we knew right away, THIS IS IT! Knowing I had to plan a whole wedding in a month was not an easy task to think about. Jess didn’t miss a beat though, she was the first person who truly just got what my vision was and made it come to life. The day of my wedding was more than what we could have ever expected. Gina C(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-09-2020 This venue is absolutely breath taking. For that reason, that is why we kept ignoring the red flags along our wedding planning journey hoping it would all be worth it. From our very first meeting, my mom and I were 7 minutes late to our tour due to traffic and the VERY first thing Katherine said to us was “didn’t think you guys were ever going to make it,” with a condescending tone before she even introduced herself. That set such an awkward and uncomfortable tone for our very first tour and opinion of the property and management.During the planning process, I often felt like my needs/desires had to fit the mold of Crossed Keys versus the opposite. CK has A LOT of requirements and additional costs to hold your wedding there, including paying hundreds of dollars extra to stay on the property the night before. My husband is from another country and we had a lot of concerns about his family being alone in the hotel room, the night before, morning of, etc while we had to stay on the property. I am a local and we had plans to stay at my dad’s house just 2 miles down the road, have a family breakfast etc. then go get ready at the venue. When I voiced these concerns the only response I received- quite condescendingly from Katherine, was that this is how it has been done for 30 years and that was that, no exceptions. I understand CK are the experts and have been doing weddings for decades, however, throughout the process I often felt like just another transaction to them. I often felt like I was being bossed around and into decisions even after I voiced my opinion/discomfort other wise (e.g., time, schedule of wedding, accommodations, vision). Mind you I am a very laid back and easy going person and often just say “yes” to people to avoid discomfort and conflict, but being told when I should have my wedding and when I need to take pictures, eat, etc. after I stating my specific opinion of the contrary was frustrating. Then the pandemic hit and my family and I were very understanding that everything was very unknown and no one could predict the future. However, I know quite a few friends getting married now/during the pandemic and their venues were MUCH more accommodating when it came to refunds, communication, and other options. Unfortunately, we could not reschedule the wedding because the only options we were given was to have it outside for the same amount of money, or on a Thursday of the following year with increased prices. I understand venues are losing money, but families are losing their dream weddings AND lots of money. It was very disheartening that my parents lost nearly $6,000. CK’s defense was that that money was for services rendered. The services they were referring to were a tasting that 25+ couples attended and a floral meeting which we waited nearly 1.5 hours past our appt time for... to us, that was not $6,000 worth. In addition, after hearing how many other families/brides had more positive experiences during this crisis, we were extremely disappointed. When my parents tried to contact CK regarding this, they have ignored them repeatedly. I am a local to the area and have dreamed of my wedding at this estate, however, I wish we listened to the opinions of others from the area and the red flags we saw from the beginning so we could have saved ourselves from disappointment and thousands of dollars lost. Rachel Colucci(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-01-2023 I reached out to the owner regarding a tour and let her know that our wedding was not for 3 years. So we scheduled a Saturday to go see it. When we arrived it was a construction site, she had NOT informed us of this. She walked us around unpainted unfinished rooms with no railings and a 30-ft drop ( thanks to my future husband being in construction I know is completely against OSHA standards) Everything was \"picture this\" and \"imagine that\" And the best part is when I told her I wanted a winter wedding she said \" oh, yeah the venue is better in spring... winter with the weather we might have to cancel the wedding last minute\" My wedding isn't for 3 years, so we were confused as to why she did not inform us of the construction and just and schedule a tour when the construction was finished. She did not come across as professional at all in the industry. The building they built I will say is going to be beautiful next year. But I don't really have that much confidence in her. Oh and she took us into a 200-year-old shack that is completely falling apart and has the smallest most outdated bathroom you can imagine (with no plans of updating it, which she informed us with kind of an attitude ) as the bridal suite. It was one of the worst tours I've ever been on. Reviewed on 06-02-2020
Felicia Brooks(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 05-10-2019 The Crossed Keys family is everything you want in a wedding venue. Family owned where they care deeply about the quality of their services, organized and efficient so things go smoothly (and when they inevitably change or need to be adjusted Katherine and Jessica can accommodate and fix any problem you bring to them), and most importantly, they put real effort into making each wedding unique and perfect in its own way. Planning a wedding from California, I always felt heard, taken care of, and never worried once about logistics or making our wedding day vision come to life. The only thing to keep an eye out for is that costs do add up across booking rooms in their Inn and Estate, in addition to the floral and upgrades desired to make your day what you hope it will be. 10/10 was the most amazing day, and your family and friends are guaranteed a good time! The amount of feedback we’ve received of how wonderful the entire day was from beginning to end is overwhelming. The only thing greater than the venue’s aesthetic is the love and attention put into each detail by each member of the team. In addition to the food being excellent, our guests that had dietary restrictions raved about how great their dishes were as well. Since CKE does so much in house (food, floral, linens, etc) everyone felt on the same page from the beginning and we never had to worry about juggling multiple vendors. I appreciated the transparency of Katherine and the team beforehand so I knew exactly what we would be responsible for paying for and what was included or what was an upgrade. I also appreciated the fact that Jessica helped worked within our budget for flowers/decor and I never felt pressure to add more or upgrade. I was slightly nervous leading up to the wedding just because I am a type A person and I felt like maybe there were items I didn’t think about or didn’t discuss enough with Jessica or Katherine beforehand. The day of the wedding those nerves disappeared. The team did a great job setting up the beautiful flowers and personal touches that we brought to be included in the decor. They definitely are professionals and as a bride that allows you to relax and enjoy your day. I didn’t get to interact that much with the servers but our guests had a lot of compliments about them and the food. Working with Katherine and Jessica could not have been more delightful. They both made planning our wedding so enjoyable, and I looked forward to every visit we had with them. I can't speak more highly of Jessica and her work with our florals. They were exactly what I had dreamed of. We didn't want a traditional wedding hall - we wanted something relaxed, but elegant and I knew I wanted a tented wedding. Crossed Keys gives you all of this and so much more. The grounds are lush and stunning, and even historical. From pictures, I felt like other venues try to replicate the nice gardens, but it just ends up looking cheesy and fake. Crossed Keys is the real garden deal. We worked with Jessica and Katherine throughout the whole process; they were both so responsive, helpful, and I knew we could trust them in making the wedding of our dreams happen. We also loved the fact that this is a family run business!- Floral and decor is done through Jessica - making it such an easy process to coordinate and it all turned out absolutely beautiful. You meet with her to go over your ideas and I felt like she read my mind in what I was looking for.- The food was absolutely the best wedding food I've had - we had the chilean sea bass which I highly recommend. We kept getting compliments about it all!- Both Jessica and Katherine were onsite and kept checking on all of us in the wedding party to see how we were doing and even just offered us water while we took pictures! Very attentive and accommodating. jessica pearson(partner)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-09-2019 Awful. Smoke in mirrors. Beautiful photos, awful outdoor venue. I imagine an event inside the venue would be more enjoyable... but a Tent wedding is NOT RECOMMENDED. Wedding coordinator was rude, poorly/inappropriately dressed and nowhere to be found at time of wedding. Unorganized and ill coordinated. Tent floor was uneven and dangerous to walk on. Wait staff was very reluctant to serve lemonade during cocktail hour unless it was in an alcoholic beverage (they were \"saving the lemonade\"). Wait staff was not assigned to tables, but instead walked around refilling wine, 4oz per refill. Had to flag someone down for a \"sip\" of wine, which was strange since we supplied our own alcohol. Cocktail hour did not have nearly enough food - not sure if this is fault of the host or the venue. Hor Dourves were not impressive - multiple guests disposed of the stuffed mushrooms. Lamb chops undercooked. Pizza was not appetizing. Food was NOT replenished, and appeared gross after just 15 minutes! Bathrooms, although clean, were \"upscale\" porta-potties and required stairs to get to. Broken handrail made it difficult for older guests to get to the bathroom. Difficulty flushing toilets. Wedding end time was 9pm, bartender stopped serving at 8:45 and refused to provide WATER! Tomato-mozzarella appetizer drenched in cheap balsamic dressing. Stale bread served with entree. Photos came out great, though. Rustic barn photography very well, but not worth the $ for the event, overall. Trashy venue. Rickety barn next to rickety tent. Shea Doyle(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-10-2018 Crossed Keys was everything I was looking for as a bride. I knew I didn't want a hotel ballroom look for our wedding and as I was searching for venues on the Knot I immediately fell in love with Crossed Keys as soon as I saw the tent. The fact that it was family-owned and had the rustic charm feel that I was looking for was what really closed the deal for us. We got engaged in early December but didn't start looking for venues until January 2018. When I showed my fiance (at the time), we thought there was no way there would be any dates available for 2018, but lo and behold there was one Saturday left and it was in October -- exactly when we wanted to get married. From that moment on we knew it was fate that we chose Crossed Keys. We signed our contract with Katherine after only seeing the venue during the cold, dreary winter. But we knew from the pictures it was exactly what we wanted. Of course, the pictures didn't do it justice! Our guests have told us that this was one of the most beautiful weddings they have ever seen. The outdoor ceremony brought out the intimate nature and the surrounding garden and yard added so much natural beauty that we couldn't have imagined. While this venue was a fairytale, we could not give them a perfect score due to a couple things. For one, I didn't realize that the coordinator (Katherine) met with prospective couples throughout the day of our wedding. I wished she would have focused more of her time on us. Secondly, we had some confusion with our floral proposal so I recommend future couples really go over each and every proposal/contract with Crossed Keys so there are no misunderstandings. In the end, we are so glad we chose Crossed Keys as our venue and hope this review helps other couples looking for a beautiful outdoor setting for their magical day. Reviewed on 27-11-2018
Josette Dwyer(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2018 My husband & I knew we wanted an outdoor wedding in NJ & Crossed Keys Estate popped up online right away. It was the first venue tour we took & from the moment we stepped onto the property, we both looked at each other & without even saying it out loud, agreed that this was going to be our wedding venue. It was the most beautiful day. From the moment we woke up to the moment we went to sleep, my husband & I were both on cloud 9. Getting to have the venue owner's beautiful home the night before for my girls & I to have one last sleep over before getting married & getting to have their property all to ourselves on the day of was the absolute best. The Playhouse was one of my favorite parts of the day; getting to all get ready in such a beautiful space started the day off on the perfect foot & this was where we got to have an after party with our friends & family after the wedding had ended. To start and end the day there was wonderful. Katherine, the venue's owner, made sure that we were taken care of, between driving me around in the cart to help me bring things back and forth, making sure I had enough hot water for my morning tea, being right by my side making sure I was getting a chance to eat everything we had out, helping us navigate our next steps with the marriage license, finding me last minute heel protectors when I needed them. She felt like another mom by our side. Jessica, her daughter, from the very beginning was such a calming, positive light throughout the whole process. We were never stressed out and I know a huge part of that was her attention to everything I asked, every idea I wanted her opinion on and not being stressed made this the most perfect day. It allowed us to just be present and enjoy ourselves. She found little pockets throughout the night to see how we were doing, to make sure our food was perfect, to help us cut our cake, to help distribute our favors. I felt like I gained a friend in her throughout these last several months and that made this experience that much more enjoyable. Our guests ALL, and when I say ALL, I mean ALL- said it was the most spectacular wedding they'd ever been to. That it was the BEST wedding food they'd ever had. If food is important to you like it was for us and if you don't want the same old 'wedding food' you get at most weddings, CKE is your venue. Everything was cooked incredibly, tasted even better than it looked & they were completely accommodating to certain things we wanted to add; like honey lavender ice cream, for example. Without a second thought, that was no problem and going to be our ice cream flavor for the night & it was absolutely outrageous. We're now running into some guests that were there after a few weeks have passed and they can't stop talking about the food! As for our ceremony- my one family member has been all through Europe and she said our ceremony looked like the South of France. Everything is so lush & you get married under 200 year old trees- how cool is that?! The flowers were exactly what we had explained we wanted & it felt like we were getting married in the secret garden. It was the perfect day. Truly a perfect day. CKE is a one stop shop in so many ways, between them handling the food, the flowers, the cake, etc. It made everything so seamless. My husband, myself, our families & guests will never forget it. Crossed Keys Estate- thank you for giving us the party of our lives to begin of our marriage. We will hold it deep in our hearts forever. Reviewed on 28-10-2018
Lisa Mariano(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-09-2018 One month ago, the most magical day happened. I married the love of my life at Crossed Keys Estate. It was truly the most beautiful experience. Katherine, Jessica, and the entire team were beyond accommodating. They made every wish and request I had come true. From the moment I woke up in the estate on the morning of the wedding, my entire bridal party and I were made to feel like royalty. Throughout the entire day, I truly felt like the luckiest girl in the world. We made our way down the stone path to the playhouse and we’re able to get a glimpse at the big white tent for the reception. We were greeted with a delicious homemade breakfast and it was quickly consumed! We spent the rest of the morning prepping for the day with the hair and make up staff. The entire staff was out and about trimming the lawn and preparing our flowers to make sure the day was as beautiful as I had imagined. There wasn’t a single worry in my mind because everything had unfolded as planned. From the first look (swoon), to the family photos, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect in this beautiful outdoor setting. The flowers and decor were straight from a fairy tale. The food was amazing! To this day, our guests are still raving over it. They were even able to accommodate a family tradition of having lechon at the cocktail hour which was so meaningful to us. Lastly, the desserts and our cake were beyond devine! From the moment the ceremony began, to the last dance was had, Katherine and Jessica were there to help! Louis and myself could not be happier we decided to start our new chapter at Crossed Keys Estate. The entire day was perfect. Reviewed on 15-10-2018
Lynna Kim(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-08-2018 Where do I begin? Our wedding day on 8/31/18 was everything our hearts desired it to be, and more. It was absolutely the best day ever because we knew Crossed Keys would be a special place to get married and celebrate with our loved ones. Pictures and video don't even do it justice; as soon as we toured the grounds and met Jessica & her mom Katherine, we knew we had to book it. Throughout the entire process, they were incredibly responsive and helpful. All my questions were answered big or small, even when I had last minute tweaks or thoughts. I really appreciate how much they show they care about each wedding they do, and treat each one uniquely. When our wedding time came, from the rehearsal to the big day itself, the whole staff really was AMAZING. From Jessica checking in on us with our flowers and seeing how things were going, to Katherine always making sure we had a drink in our hands, to the friendly catering (headed by Celso) + staff throughout the grounds, we and our guests were always taken care of. The food was SPECTACULAR. We are still getting extraordinary compliments on the cocktail hour, delicious dinner, and drinks. The Mac & Cheese bar was the best I ever had, hands down. I was incredibly happy to hear from our vegetarian friends that the dish they were served was the best they ever had at a wedding (they usually get a typical option but they could tell the chef was very thoughtful in creating their meal). Everything from the playhouse where we got ready (and later had a small after party), to the beautiful decor (planned through Event Designs by Katherine), the on-site house, the reception tent, was gorgeous. Our goal was to throw a wedding where the planning process was easy and stress-free, and all our guests were really happy. The Crossed Keys team delivered this for us, and was absolutely wonderful in enabling us to have the perfect day. I should add that, despite rain starting to come down around mid-day, the whole move of the ceremony into the tent was so seamless and beautifully done. I did not give it a second thought and didn't have to worry about a thing. If anything, it was even more enchanting under the big white tent. The whole day still brings happy tears to my eyes. We are still enjoying all the pictures coming in from the wedding and we will treasure this day for the rest of our lives. Thank you CK team! We hope we get to attend a wedding here again in the future as guests and highly recommend this place to future couples looking for a special place. Reviewed on 24-09-2018
Anne Marie Silverman(parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 We celebrated our daughter’s wedding last weekend at Crossed Keys Estate. It was absolutely magical. Katherine and Jessica guided us every step of the way and for that we are truly appreciative. They made us feel so at home the moment we walked onto the property, letting us know that they were taking it from here and that we need not worry. We were able to relax and join our family and friends in celebrating our daughter and her husband. The property was absolutely magnificent, so many beautiful places to wander. We loved the cocktail patio and the atmosphere around the fire pit was so inviting. The stone house and colorful gardens made for a picturesque ceremony backdrop. And the flowers... they blew us away - simply stunning, capturing the wedding colors perfectly. We received so many compliments about the delicious appetizers, the entrees, and desserts. I’m sorry I missed the chocolate chip cookies - I heard they were warm and that the mint chocolate chip ice cream was so creamy! The day could not have gone any smoother. We stayed in the house on the property. The rooms were spacious and beautiful and we had full use of the living areas. It was a short walk to the playhouse were the bridal party got ready. So nice to be on site the whole day. The bridal party stayed a mile away at Crossed Keys Inn where they had the whole inn to themselves. It was a perfect place, too, to host the after party and the farewell breakfast. I highly recommend this wedding venue. Katherine and Jessica are pros and know exactly how to create magic! My fiance and I were trying to decide where to have our pictures taken and we were consistently blown away by the estate. Between the secret gardens, the gigantic willow trees, the secluded creek, the charming swing on the hill, and of course their iconic playhouse, we had trouble picking our favorite locations. I can't wait to see our pictures with the breathtaking backdrops!I have to admit that picking out the food was my favorite part of the wedding planning process. The CK menu had so many amazing options for each part of the night! My particular group of guests are EXTREMELY discerning when it comes to food and every one of them raved about the food all night. The kids (and many adults) loved the mac-and-cheese bar, while most of the groomsmen could be found at the fish taco station. Of course my favorite was the stunning funfetti wedding cake with buttercream frosting and flower accents. But the most wonderful part of the wedding was the team at Crossed Keys. Jessica and Katherine anticipated every question, request, and possible issue that we could think of. The staff was constantly making sure that I was being fed (something very important to me) and they were so attentive to my wedding party, family, and guests. Jessica and Katherine went above and beyond. Cortney Teitell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2017 Where do I begin?! Long story short, Jessica, Katherine, and the entire Crossed Keys team are true wedding experts! We waited two years to have our dream fall wedding, and every moment of our wedding day was worth the wait. From the moment we first stepped foot on The Estate’s grounds, we knew this was where we would be married…we didn’t even look at other venues! The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. From the towering oak trees, to the meticulously manicured lawns, every corner of Crossed Keys is beautiful. The tent is an absolute stunner (and won the approval of my very critical 93-year-old grandmother)! What we loved most about having a tented wedding was the ability to truly create an aesthetic that was our own. It was a blank canvas with which Jessica and Katherine used to create a beautiful celebration of our marriage. Throughout the entire planning process, Jessica was there to answer all of our questions, no matter how silly or seemingly insignificant, ultimately putting our minds at ease and allowing us to focus on preparing for marriage. The day of our wedding she was there, making sure every detail was perfect - I’m convinced she even had something to do with the impeccable weather and the fairy tale Autumn leaves raining down around us during the ceremony. A huge highlight for us was being able to have our rehearsal dinner at Crossed Keys Inn, just a minute’s drive down the road. Knowing that the Crossed Keys family was in charge of our wedding weekend was so reassuring. 3 months after our wedding and our family and friends are STILL raving about it! Do not hesitate to book your wedding at Crossed Keys Estate you will not be disappointed. Katherine and Jessica create a magical moment from the moment you arrive to the very last song. I was amazed at how smooth everything ran and after months of preparation for my daughter and son in laws big day it was so nice that I could just relax and enjoy the day. Katherine and Jessica new what we needed before we did. The setting of Crossed Keys is so pretty and it was impeccably manicured while still giving you a relaxed natural feel. The food which Celso creates is delicious not just a few of the items, everything was superb! How many times do you leave a wedding even raving about the salad, The warm goat cheese on a bed of field greens with spice nuts and a balsamic vinaigrette, so delicious. For our main course we had herb crusted filet of beef with California Cabernet sauce and pistachio encrusted Chilean Sea Bass our guest loved that they did not have to choose, many of them said to me that they normally order one item and have theirs spouse order something else but here they did not have to do that because they each received two items. Our guest many of them also mentioned how the food was cooked to perfection and that is not an easy task for 160 guest. For the dessert my daughter made a special request of champagne sorbet and when I asked Katherine and Jessica if they could accommodate and their answer was no problem. The warm chocolate cookies at the end of the night delicious! So many of our guest have told us that this was the best wedding they have ever been to. At your traditional wedding you are all contained in a room and that is not ideal for all guest. At Crossed Keys you can enjoy the fire pit or play some games over on the grass or maybe just take a stroll on the beautiful grounds.
