Having our wedding at CrossKeys was absolutely amazing! We got married at the end of May and the views, experience, food and drinks, and staff there were great. While we worked with 3 different staff members who were the point person coordinating our wedding due to staffing changes, the staff did a great job of ensuring we were supported just as we needed to be. The staff made our day feel so special and helped us as much as possible as we dealt with the trials. of possible rain. The new day-of-coordinator, Ranae, was amazing on the day of and responded to all of our needs. The food at the venue was great and they responded to all of our interests after our tasting. All in all, though we would have wished to hear back quicker on some emails, having our wedding at CrossKeys and working with their coordination and dinner staff was amazing. Reviewed on 11-06-2023
Samantha Puglisi(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2022 From the breathtaking venue of vines and rolling mountains, to the delicious food, to the exceptional staff- CrossKeys was the absolute perfect choice for our wedding day! Shelby, the events coordinator, made sure every detail was handled from beginning to end and truly exceeded any expectations I had. She easily went above and beyond her \"day-of\" coordination services and made the wedding planning process much easier. Her team was incredible and I was very relaxed the morning of the wedding, knowing she and her team would handle everything. I truly can't explain how lucky I am to have found this hidden gem of a wedding venue, with outstanding staff to match! I'd recommend CrossKeys Vineyard time and time again and will definitely be back to enjoy wine on their patio! Reviewed on 25-09-2022

She is so awesome and took care of everything I had absolutely zero stress on the day. The bridal getting ready suite is adorable and has everything you need! Jessica Bertholf(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2022 Choosing CrossKeys was the single best decision we made during our entire wedding planning process (besides saying yes to an engagement :D). Everything was absolutely perfect. The views are stunning and the facilities are GORGEOUS at every turn, even down to the beautiful bride and grooms suites (that we could actually use on the morning start of hair and makeup - not something everywhere offers!). Working with Shelby was the best experience we could have hoped for. She went above and beyond making sure the day went smoothly and was able to make all of our unique asks happen, like a specialty cocktail wall and tweaking the menu to include chimichurri steak. So many guests came up to me during the night and even weeks later saying it was the best wedding food they'd ever had, and marveling that there was never a long line at the bar - even at the very start of cocktail hour. During wedding planning everyone told me something would go wrong on my wedding day and I'd have to roll with it, and I'm not exaggerating when I say not one thing went wrong and it was in large part due to the incredible preparedness and service at CrossKeys. Absolutely wonderful!! Reviewed on 01-07-2022

The sprawling mountains, vineyards, and manicured hills were the perfect spot for my vision of my fairytale wedding. Shelby was a pleasure to work with and will seriously ensure EVERYTHING goes as planned. She really gave me peace of mind during the planning process and day of the wedding. The food at our wedding was KILLER, the steak was flavorful and tender and everyone raved about the salmon. The passed appetizers were also absolutely delicious. The wine served at the wedding was also fantastic. I could not be more thankful for CrossKeys and Shelby and her team for making my dream wedding a reality! Reviewed on 17-06-2022
Sarah Jochem(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-07-2019 The professionalism is apparent from day one at CrossKeys Vineyards. They made our wedding day that much easier by giving us the comfort that we were working with a venue who was seasoned at specializing in weddings. Everyone we worked with was super welcoming and excited for us- we feel like we are now part of their family. The day of coordination was a blessing for us as they know the property, chef, table settings, etc. The chef made wonderful food and was great to work with. They were able to cater to all of our needs including some vegan dishes and did so without hesitation. CrossKeys allowed us to customize our wedding day to the experience we imagined. Lauren Meeley(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-10-2018 CrossKeys was truly the venue of our dreams. The whole staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, really letting us personalize our wedding to how we wanted it to be. We loved that CKV had everything we needed (e.g. tables, chairs, linens, food, alcohol) so that we didn't have to work with additional vendors. As the bride, I loved getting ready in their spacious bridal suite and we had a mimosa bar while getting ready! It was so fun for me and my bridesmaids. We worked with Ariel to plan out our day perfectly. She was easily accessible through email and responded quickly to my questions. She was our day of coordinator and truly made our day perfect. She was incredibly friendly and professional throughout the whole planning process and on the day of our wedding.Dexter (and Ariel) were incredibly helpful while we did our tasting. Dexter let us personalize our menu and allowed us to ask for items that weren't on the catering menu (chicken and waffle sliders were SO GOOD). We got so many compliments that the food was delicious! Mia Bahagry(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-09-2018 Not only is this facility gorgeous rain or shine, but their staff is just outstanding. Our day of coordinator, Nikole, did an excellent job answering questions quickly and gently keeping us on track in the weeks leading up to the wedding and also did an outstanding job on the day of being helpful but not overwhelming. She always seemed to appear right when we needed her with a smile and some new way of being helpful. The rest of the staff was also welcoming and even took a few pictures in our photobooth, what a super fun thing to find!! The food here is also excellent, and the meeting with the head chef was very helpful in picking food and the accompanying wine and beer. We were able to change our alcohol plan to fit our needs and felt we were able to change a lot before we started to incur extra costs, all of which were very reasonable. Overall, excellent experience from top to bottom. Food, alcohol, helpful staff, beautiful ceremony/reception areas, and the best rain plan we found in the area. They clearly do weddings often and think of everything. We cannot say enough about this amazing vendor and are very excited to return for anniversaries. I would get married here again every day and twice on Sundays. Seriously, an overall fantastic experience. Reviewed on 22-09-2018
Mickey Johnston(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-08-2018 My wife (whoa) and I got married at CrossKeys on August 4, 2018. We planned our wedding from out-of-state and working with CrossKeys was simple. We worked mostly with Ariel Watters via email from the beginning until within a few weeks of our wedding. She was responsive to our questions and if given a few days always got back to us with detailed answers. The menu was not her strongest suit, but when it came time to crafting our menu we spoke directly with the chef, Dexter. Sitting down for our tasting with Dexter, Ariel, and Nikole Taylor (who later gracefully took the baton from Ariel to act as our day-of-wedding-coordinator) - Dexter paired the sides with the 3 protein entrees we chose. The food tasted great I might add. The day of the rehearsal, Nikole took charge, all with a smile. On wedding day she was an absolute rock star. All smiles, but getting it done. Before the wedding, \"Hey Nikole - can we have that light bulb replaced\" -- \"No problem!\" -- done. During the wedding, \"Hey Nikole - can you dim the lights\" - done. She managed the timeline; communicated with the kitchen, our photographer (we got so lucky with weather - sunset was unreal), and our DJ. All in all, just a spectacular experience for a moderate price. We highly recommend CrossKeys Vineyards. The work done by Ariel on the business-side, along with the menu-crafting and delicious recipes executed by Dexter, and the most impressive day-of-wedding coordinator taken care of by the very pleasant Nikole Taylor, culminated into an A+ experience at CrossKeys. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Reviewed on 10-08-2018

For months we worked hand and hand with Hannah Cooper. She was sweet, helpful and treated us as if we were family. She is a huge talent and crosskeys is lucky to have her making amazing dreams weddings come true. Chef dexter is a true talent. Not only was he excited to work with us on custom menus he executed them amazingly. As I am a chef the bar was set high for food and he exceeded expectations. I was told by many guest the foods was the best they had ever had at a wedding ever.Everything was perfect, the staff was amazing and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue. Tanya Digman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-10-2014 I had my wedding at CrossKeys Vineyards on October 25, 2014. I can't say enough good things about the venue, and especially about the event coordinator, Elizabeth. Elizabeth was so professional and easy to work with, quick to respond to my emails and phone calls, and had a wealth of knowledge about wedding coordination and details. She helped get me through my special day in one piece! \r\rThe venue itself is absolutely breathtaking - it has a Tuscan feel to it right in the middle of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain region in Virginia. When we first arrived at the vineyard, my jaw literally dropped and I told my then-fiance that this was it, we were done looking at other venues. I was right!\r\rElizabeth and the serving staff were phenomenal. They all worked together seamlessly to make sure that the event went smoothly and without a hitch. Whatever I asked for - they got it for me. Often, they would even ask to get me something before I even realized I needed it! All of the servers stopped by our table to say congratulations - they were so sweet.\r\rThe food was amazing! The chef, Dexter, and his staff, executed our menu flawlessly. Before we chose our menu, CKV had sent us sample menus with price points, and Dexter's creativity really shines through. Any questions we had about the food, he answered, and he was happy to make his recommendations. People raved about the food - everything was absolutely delicious.\r\rIt goes without saying that the wine was excellent as well. We had 4 kinds available to out guests - the Joy White, the Fiore, the Merlot and the Petit Verdot. Our guests loved all of them. Thankfully there was some extra wine for us to bring home!\r\rIf I were to have to do my wedding all over again, I would, without a doubt, choose CrossKeys Vineyards again. Ashley Long(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-05-2014 CrossKeys Vineyards is the perfect place to get married! The mountain views are stunning, the architecture and layout of the building and patios really allow you to create beautiful ceremony and reception areas, and the wines are top notch! Additionally, CrossKeys has a wonderful chef and everyone commented on how good the food was (unlike typical wedding food that is usually just ok). Finally, I can't say enough about their events coordinator Katie. From the start it was apparent she is very good at what she does, and thanks to her my entire wedding day went smoothly. If you are looking for a wedding venue that is both beautiful and provides top quality service for the price, definitely check out CrossKeys!! Reviewed on 25-06-2014
Julie Harris(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-09-2013 My husband and I live in Connecticut, but decided to get married in the mountains of Virginia where his family has spent vacations for the last 30 years. We got engaged at a vineyard, and knew that we wanted to have our reception at a vineyard as well, but weren't sure where to start! \r\rOn a family vacation, Jeremy and I physically visited 20 vineyards looking for that special something. We wanted a beautiful setting, good wines, enough space for 150+ people, something close to reasonably priced hotels (every single guest was coming from at least 3 hours away), and near a Catholic Church. CrossKeys was everything we dreamed of and more. \r\rI was nervous about planning a wedding 1,000 miles away, but Katie, Nikoo, Chef Mike, even Paul in the tasting room made it easier than I could ever imagine. Our guests raved about the food (and they are used to NYC dining), the wines, and the location. People have even asked my bridesmaids if the pictures had the background photo shopped in because they couldn't believe how perfect everything looked. We couldn't have been more thrilled with Katie's help coordinating with our outside vendors, keeping me calm and answering all of our questions. They were even willing to hand-pass donuts for us late night on the dance floor. \r\rChef Mike prepared one of the most delicious meals, that sadly a lot of guests couldn't finish because they gorged themselves on appetizers like scallops wrapped in bacon, and a special fig in phyllo with mascarpone that Mike was willing to make off menu for me. Our gluten free guest and several vegetarians loved their food, and our attentive waitress made sure I always had a glass of Meritage. \r\rCrossKeys is a wonderful place to have your wedding reception, dancing under the lights, having the outdoor fireplaces lit to keep your guests warm if it's a chilly night, and just generally having a night to remember. We couldn't say enough about the experience, and look forward to many wine tastings over future visits!\r Reviewed on 05-03-2014
Ashlyn Pumphrey(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2013 CrossKeys is a wonderful wedding venue. It is beautifully manicured and well kept. Katie (the wedding planner) was wonderful to work with and catered all to all our needs and special requests. She was ready accessible and always replied to emails quickly and thoroughly. CrossKeys was also one of the few wineries to allow outside beer and alcohol which gave us the best value on guest count and allowed us to stay on budget. The Executive Chef also made individual plates for specialized diets to include a vegan and gluten-free guest without extra charge. I thought this really showed the thoughtfulness of the winery. They also provided a great vendor list to include Kings Studio, Cakes by Cathy Stewart and The Cupcake Company. All these vendors had exceptional service and great bang for your buck! So glad I picked CrossKeys to have my wedding at. All my guests had an amazing time and were impressed by the venue. Reviewed on 18-10-2013
Erica Gray(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-06-2012 Overall, our experience getting married at CrossKeys in September was positive. It goes without saying that venue is one of the most beautiful in the area, if not in the entire state. \r\rSo some of the positives: location, in-house chef (we got RAVE reviews from the guests about all of the food), plenty of space, back up plans readily available in case of rain. \r\rThe main negative that sticks out is that, when it came to the rehearsal/day of the wedding, there was no apparent coordinating going on and I did not feel like there was anyone I could depend on to ask questions of and help keep the event organized. I was disappointed by the lack of support by CrossKeys staff when it came to the actual day of the wedding. \r\rOther than that, because the pre-planning was so thorough, everything went really well and we got SO lucky to have absolutely perfect weather. All of the guests were thoroughly impressed, and everyone had a BLAST! \r\rCrossKeys is one of my absolute favorite places, and having the opportunity to be married there was a true blessing! \r\rJust a few tips to brides considering getting married here:\r1. Arrange for transportation for your guests! We hired a bus company to transport guests from the vineyard back to Harrisonburg, and it worked out excellently! Cabs sometimes give a hard time about going to CrossKeys because of it's location outside the city limits.\r2. Be sure you have someone you can depend on to help you at your rehearsal and with the day of the wedding. There is an event coordinator, but honestly, I don't remember seeing her more than once the day of the wedding and she was not present for our rehearsal. My aunt wound up doing everything. \r3. They have very limited table linens to choose from- probably better to get that all from outside vendors, unless you are looking for extremely basic linens. I used The Wishing Well--- working with Terrie was a DREAM! She took my reception decor to another level and it was stunning!\r4. They have an in-house chef available to cater the event-- USE HIM!!!!!! All of the food at our wedding was absolutely incredible. We chose to do a plated dinner, not a buffet, and the service went smoothly and the food was delicious. The food is not covered in the fee to rent the venue, so be prepared to pay more than the rental fee. He is worth it!!! Reviewed on 22-09-2013
Sarah McDonald(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-05-2012 CrossKeys Vineyard is a GORGEOUS wedding venue! I got married on 5/19/12 and it was perfect. CrossKeys offers a variety of set-ups and locations that you can rent/use for your event. I was able to have my wedding outside, cocktail hour in the front courtyard, and my reception inside. Chairs, linens, wine, set-up are all part of the package. The Event Coordinator, Nicole, was phenomenal to workw ith. She allowed me to come early and set up my decorations and drop of my dress and supplies in the room available for the bride and the bridesmaids to get ready.\rThe venue itself is excellent, very open and airy and is not stuffy as some vineyards are apt to be. The location is ideal as it is close to Harrisonburg, Virginia, but is remote enough to feel like you have your own special place situated in the valley with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background.\rThe wines are good and you must serve their wine. They have a caterer that you have to use. The food was good, but it was a bit challenging getting the details sorted out with the cater and finalizing everything. In the end, food was tasty!\rThey are a venue that has experience with large and small events. Definitely check them out! Reviewed on 05-06-2012
