Curate is a 6000 sq ft event venue in the hip and historic East Village of Downtown Des Moines. Curate is an excellent choice for a wedding reception. 60" round tables with linens and silver chiavari chairs are included with weekend rentals. Curate's clean art-gallery look is a blank canvas for ultimate decorating flexibility. Curate provides award-winning catering and bar service through our sister company Taste! To Go Catering and Events. We work with many other LOCAL partners to provide end-to-end solutions for your event. Five hotels are within 800 yards of Curate, meaning less than a 1/2 mile walk from each of them. Two of the hotels in that radius also have free shuttles. Ample parking is nearby as well!

We had the absolute best wedding at Curate!!! Our guests could not believe how good the food was and how smoothly everything went. Jayme and Chris were both incredibly helpful and we cannot thank them enough!

We just had our daughter's wedding ceremony and reception at Curate this past weekend and could not be happier with everything! It was the perfect size, blank canvas to make your own, the food was out of this world and we received so many compliments on how good the food tasted! The staff was amazing and very helpful! The room flip from ceremony to reception was seamless, cocktail hour and passed appetizers was flawless as well. Dinner was absolutely perfect! Chris, Emily, Jamie and Kathleen were wonderful to work with! My daughter texted me on Sunday morning and said Best Day Ever and it truly was and Curate was more than we ever could have hoped for!

We booked Curate for our wedding venue and could not be happier with how everything turned out. Chris was attentive to all details, and staff were wonderful and interactive with guests. Chris was even there for us with a Plan B in the event that our outdoor wedding was going to end up at Curate due to poor weather and never made us feel negatively about it. Curate also has beautiful uplighting and a large indoor space that made our guests feel distanced and comfortable. I highly recommend Chris and his team at Curate.

Curate was a perfect venue for our wedding. It's wide open feel and clean lines provided the right space for us to play with and make our own. I was able to bring in my own equipment without any problems or additional fees, except for the confetti canons which makes sense.My husband and I wanted to have an event that was just that, an event. Our goal was that every aspect of the evening played part in the entertainment. So, our menu was a bit of a beast. We had five different food stations throughout the evening that ranged between French and Asian cuisines. We also had a smoked whiskey station (FANTASTIC) and an open bar. The fact that we threw such extensive requests for our menu and it was all exceptionally executed made the night very special. The only reason we are knocking a star off is because of a surprise 21% fee after we signed the contract. If this fee was discussed at the beginning, or clarified for what it meant, it wouldn't have been a big deal. But we asked a few times and the response was that it was there to cover additional expenses. We paid the fee and didn't argue but felt like a bait and switch after the contract was signed. The contract they provided didn't even mention a 21% fee.I would and have recommended this venue but with the caution of that surprise 21% fee.

The venue was perfect for the wedding that we were having. The arrangement of the buffet, band, gift table were all set up as promised. The dance floor was made larger when needed! Chris listened to any concerns we had & addressed them quickly. It was awesome to see him at the venue the night of the reception. Bartenders were very nice & did a super job! Definitely recommend Curate as a venue! Hotels near by is a plus also.

We wholeheartedly recommend Curate. The main reason we chose Curate was because they were flexible and happy to work with us on a menu that used local foods. Several of the other venues we looked at really nickel and dimed you -- for example: if you brought in any decor, you were required to take it down by the end of the evening or you could be charged. But, Curate was very flexible! They really handled everything the day of! Any ideas we had were welcome and honored the day of. They have a great sound system, and the venue is beautiful. We agreed on the price of catering beforehand, and that cost did not change. There were no surprise charges at all. They were very flexible in allowing us to bring in our own decor -- like candles -- and even places the candles on all the tables for us. They allowed us to leave things, and then come by the next morning to pick things up. So helpful! Small things like that really made a big difference. They had plenty of staff and worked hard to make everything go perfectly -- truly, it was a perfect day.Chris was extremely responsive, and gave us all the information we needed, letting us stop by the venue several times. And the food that Andrea served was truly amazing -- our guests loved it and we appreciate them working with us on the menu and sourcing locally. Chris and Andrea were true professionals, and helped us remain calm the day of! I cannot stress enough how perfectly they managed things the day of. We did have some problems communicating with some of their staff, who could be a little unresponsive and scattered. But you'll be in good hands with Chris and Andrea!
