This place is one of a kind! We had the pleasure of working with Cuvier Club and Abbey Catering for our October 2023 wedding and they did not disappoint! The package is an amazing deal. The vendors they have curated for it are excellent and helped limit a lot of planning stress. We were teamed up with Petr as our month and day of coordinator and WOW he is talented! He executed our vision flawlessly, while making sure my husband, me, and our guests were taken care of all evening! He checked in on us frequently, kept the night moving, and if anything went wrong we would never know. On top of all that, he is so kind and super responsive which helped alleviate a lot of my stress as a bride. Lastly, in addition to all the compliments we received on the beauty of the day, we received an equal amount on the food. I feel like food is tough to receive compliments on at weddings, but we had so many of our guests tell us how amazing it was! The petit beef wellington bites, bacon wrapped fig dates, soyrizo quesadillas, and dual entree were a huge hit! We are so grateful to have went with Cuvier Club as our venue. Our wedding turned out to be everything we wanted and more!

Our tour guide (kyle or joey ,I don’t know because he never told us his name ) went straight in for pricing, no walk through to see if we even liked the venue. Once we finally got to see the venue we asked about dining outside like the picture being shown. Instead of telling us the price he said what a labor intensive problem it would be. Isn’t it his job to up-sell us and not make it sound negative? Give us the price and let’s move on to other details. We also offered a couple thousand dollars to temporary remove some of the hanging lights we did not like, he refused..this tour guide does not like money. We just did 3 tours prior and it was a completely different experience. He seemed like he did not want to be there, he even told us I’ll give you directions to walk over to the ceremony location… What if we never find it, are we supposed to pay 30k+ for a venue we have never seen, that we drove hours to see. Hope other people have better experiences, we will passing on this venue.

My husband and I had a great experience at the Cuvier Club and opted for the all-inclusive package with Abbey Catering. We worked with Federico as a wedding coordinator and he went above and beyond to make our day special. We were planning the wedding (in San Diego) from Tokyo, Japan, so we were a little nervous about how it would turn out. However, Federico made sure that everything would go as planned and was very attentive to detail. Plus, he responded to our emails very quickly and even met with us on his Friday night once to accommodate the time difference in Japan. The all-inclusive package made planning easier too and we loved all the vendors that we worked with. Plus, the food was outstanding! Definitely go for the ahi tuna appetizer and we loved the short ribs and sesame soy glazed salmon too. Our guests raved about the food and certainly did not leave hungry.The venue was amazing too! We liked being able to do the ceremony at the wedding bowl, which was breathtaking. The Cuvier Club easily accommodated our 90 guests and was very pretty inside. Our guests appreciated having the outdoor patio too, so they could cool off and talk in the quiet outside when they were tired of dancing. Truly spectacular day!

If you are looking for the BEST venue and catering company for your wedding, this is the place. From the moment we toured The Cuvier Club, we knew that this was different than the rest. Our venue manager Anders Cueva was the most personal, warm and thoughtful person from the start of our process to the very end. She guided us through any question or uncertainty that we had about our wedding, allowing us to build the perfect wedding we envisioned. The wedding coordinator provided to us by the company was Federico Tomas, a person who excels at being the absolute best at this job. Federico remained in constant communication with us during our planning process, offering us the best ideas and collaboration for our big day. On our wedding day, he was an amazing source of support that was never too far away, making sure we were having the best time. On top of these two incredible workers, was our event captain David and his amazing team of servers during our wedding night. All of our guests raved about the beyond friendly servers and how smooth their process of getting food and drinks to everyone was. There was not a single hiccup or delay during the event. With all this wonderful service, the food served was out of this world. Our chefs Kyle & Kody serve nothing but the best food, and ensured that even our guests with dietary restrictions were taken care of. The Cuvier Club by Wedgewood Weddings gave us the most perfect wedding. The Cuvier team was great to work with and very professional. When planning a wedding things can change from one day to the next. Federico was very flexible with changing our menu, guest count, updating rental items, and honoring promises for discounted items. For our second walk through Megan made herself available to answer any questions and walked us through some options. On the day of, Sean did a fantastic job as captain making sure appetizers and dinner were served on time. The entire team is there to help create the best experience and bring your vision to life. I would 100% have my wedding at the Cuvier Club again!

We recently had our wedding at the Cuvier Club and it could not have gone any smoother! We originally chose Cuvier Club because of the location in La Jolla, ability to comfortably hold at least 125 guests, and their outdoor and indoor spaces. The garden outside is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for our outdoor cocktail hour. Meanwhile, the indoor hall area was clean, spacious, and the perfect area to accommodate all our festivities, eating, and dancing. We went with The Abbey Catering's all-inclusive package, which made planning the wedding and hiring vendors so easy, especially since we were out-of-state during much of that time. Petr was our coordinator and an absolute pleasure to work with! Him and the all the staff orchestrated the day perfectly and we couldn't have done it without them! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

All of my wedding dreams came true at the Cuvier Club. They have a list of preferred vendors to use as part of an all inclusive package, but I was also able to bring in some of my own vendors. Everything was absolutely beautiful, the food through Abbey Catering was AMAZING, and a month later I am still amazed at how perfect our wedding day was. Everyone there is so nice, very helpful and attentive, and they worked so hard to make sure our day was special. We worked with Chuck, who is exceptional. He was so patient answering all of our questions, made sure the wedding was better than I could ever imagine, made the planning and the day of so smooth, found me at the perfect times to make sure I was having a great night- he made everything that much better. We had the ceremony at The Wedding Bowl, which was breathtaking, and used the golf cart package to give guests a quick 1-minute ride to the Cuvier Club for reception. Everyone who attended kept talking about how perfect of a day/ night it was. I cannot say enough good things about the Cuvier Club and highly highly highly recommend if you want to have a wedding even better than your dreams!

The venue was beautiful and I was so in love with everything about the ambiance and look. They are very strict with outside vendors, and there are a lot of Don'ts and Cannot's so read your contract carefully. The food was AMAZING and the open bar cost couldn't be beat! There was some communication issues with our assigned team but other than that, it was a very great wedding!

This place is absolutely amazing. The patio is gorgeous, and the ballroom is spacious but what really makes this place special is the staff. Especially Jack Taylor. He actually listens to your vision and he gets excited about helping you. His creativity helps to make for an amazing day. He never once made us feel pressured to spend more than we wanted and he was committed to making our vision come true. I highly recommend this venue and I highly recommend Jack as your wedding coordinator. You will be glad you chose him.

Working with the Cuvier Club and The Abbey Catering staff was such a delight! Our wedding went off without any hitches and the day ended up being the best day ever! Petr was our day of wedding coordinator and I can not say enough nice things about him. He was on top of everything during the entire process and so incredibly kind and easy to work with. The staff at the Cuvier Club during the wedding were all so kind as well and so attentive to me and my groom as well as all of our guests. The food from The Abbey Catering Company was phenomenal, we are still hearing about it today from everyone who was there. We were able to get married at the Wedding Bowl and the reception was held at the Cuvier Club, both venues were absolutely breathtaking and I could not imagine getting married anywhere else. We also utilized their all inclusive wedding package, this made my life so easy. We used their vendors for our photographer, videographer, DJ, florist, and cake. Everyone we worked with was so professional and understood what our vision was. We wanted to not have to stress out about any of the planning during this whole process and we were able to accomplish that and truly appreciate the day because of everyone involved. I would recommend anyone planning a wedding to go and visit the Cuvier Club because you will fall in love with the sights and the staff.

The Abbey Catering and the Cuvier Club were absolutely amazing!! My husband and I got married on 9/19/19. The food was delicious and everything we asked for. I was concerned about consistency with the food because that can be a difficult thing with large groups, but the Abbey exceeded our expectations! All of our guests made it a point to let us know how awesome they thought the food was. HIGHLY recommended! Also, working with Petr was truly a wonderful experience. He is SO responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. Everything was beautiful and he made it all so easy. The venue is gorgeous and Petr went above and beyond to make sure the day went off without a hitch. He even set up my personal items and my desserts from an outside vendor! I can't say enough. If my husband and I could do it all over again with the Abbey and the Cuvier Club, we wouldn't change a thing!! Thank you!

My fiance and I are getting married on 10/15/2020. We toured 3 other venues before Cuvier Club. While it's a little outside our budget, their all-inclusive package has everything that we wanted and they have so many options to choose from! Benoit walked us through the process and gave us a tour of the location and answered all of our questions! He has been so helpful getting us all set-up with the contract and the vendors! It takes so much stress off of us to be able to focus on other aspects of the wedding! We can't wait to get married at Cuvier Club!

We chose the Cuvier Club after touring a number of venues in La Jolla. We were aware from discussing with friends and colleagues that CC had a tad of a reputation as a \"wedding mill\" churning out 2-3 weddings a weekend, every weekend, but we decided to go with the CC \"all inclusive\" package because we wanted a smooth experience and didn't want to go find all of our own independent vendors. First, we think it's very fair to talk about what went well. Our coordinator, Chuck was fantastic on the wedding day itself. My bride and I were waited on and attended to and very well taken care of by Chuck and the team during the reception. We also want to note that the food, which was provided by The Abbey, got great reviews from friends and family and we enjoyed it as well. Also, we want to note that after the ceremony, most things seemed to flow just as planned during the reception and this was Chuck's good work and planning. We are very appreciative of this. When it comes to the experience as a whole, and how we felt dealing with Chuck/The CC before the day of, and the feelings that we got after the reception upon talking to our private ceremony coordinator, we were not totally pleased with our experience. When you are spending as much money on a one day event as we did for a 160 person wedding, we expected a better feeling, and our private coordinator assured us that we should not have felt the way we did. The CC did not negotiate about hardly anything involved in the process. To the very end, we felt nickeled and dimed for small things. At one point, our private coordinator had a conversation with Chuck about our feelings regarding the wedding planning so far, and I believe the term used was \"That can't be possible, look at our reviews online, people love the Cuvier Club\". Needless to say... that did not make us feel any better about spending $XX,XXX on our special day.Unfortunately aside from Chuck being super helpful and attentive on the day of the event, the rest of the actual wait staff and bartenders gave many of our guests (including the parents of the bride and groom) a feeling of \"this is just another event, let's get it over with\" . Multiple reports of rude or \"I could care less\" attitudes were made to our private coordinator who then relayed this unfortunate information to my bride and I at the end of the night. Not to mention, there was a bit of a fiasco at the end with the wait staff going in and clearing out the mens dressing room before the end of the night, although we were told specifically that this would not happen. This lead to one of the groomsmen thinking his stuff was stolen, when he brought this up to a member of the staff, it was handled very poorly and at one point he was told \"Here's a trash bag full of stuff, you can find your own stuff\" by a staff member. (nothing was stolen, but it was still poor communication and attitude from the staff that was unprofessional)At the end of the day, the CC is a beautiful venue, the food was phenomenal from The Abbey Catering, and our contracted vendors that the CC had recommended all performed flawlessly and we could not recommend Chris at SD Photo Studio for video, Deborah Shields Photography, or Mike Kleeman at Sleeping Giant Music more. The CC itself and our experience dealing with the planning, and the eventual execution of the event was what could have had a massive improvement. Very far from ideal, and we will not be recommending the Cuvier Club to our friends.

If I could give 6 stars I would. I didn’t even see this place in person before knowing I wanted my wedding here. Upon visiting the Cuvier Club I knew this was the place! The Abbey Catering all inclusive package we selected made life SO EASY. Call me lazy, but having 3-5 recommended vendors to choose from made planning SO easy! My day of coordinator, Fede was also a dream come true. He helped calm any panickey moments we had leading up to the big day. Everything was so smooth and painless when Fede got involved.

This venue is wonderful and the staff was beyond amazing! Petr and John took care of every detail and question we had. On the day of, John, our coordinator, treated my husband and I like royalty. He alleviated any stress I had and made sure I had fun! We had the Abby Catering serve our dinner and it was delicious! The best wedding food I've ever tasted, we had to many compliments from our guests. I would definitely recommend the Cuvier Club as a venue, for their staff and food.

Despite having a groomzilla on my hands, the Cuvier Club and Abbey Catering were exceptional and we had the best wedding! We got multiple comments on how amazing the venue was, how great the food was, and how awesome it was that we were able to have an open bar for the entire night! I feel like this place is a hidden gem! You don't often find it in magazines (San Diego Weddings) and I think a lot of people have the misconception that the venue is in La Jolla and may be to expensive but trust me this place will not disappoint when it comes to pleasing your guests and also the cost of your wedding will remain plenty reasonable. We brought in a lot of our own vendors besides the catering aspect but Abbey does offer it all. You need a DJ, they have it, you need a florist or make up artist, they have it. Petr was great to work with. Very understanding when I had several candle stems that still had the sticker on the bottom. Sorry Petr! Anyways, highly recommend this place if you want to have a wedding of a lifetime!

Planning the wedding with their team was the smoothest process ever, and we never had one horror story or fight (amazing!). It all started with Julie who kicked off our sales process, and she is truly a sweet person. Chuck Ferrante was an outstanding coordinator throughout the planning process. And I cannot praise Petr enough! Petr was the most incredible coordinator. He had everything under control (and I do mean everything). From decor, to issues, to the flow of events, everything went just as planned. He made me and my wife feel calm the entire evening, and was just an amazing person to work with. The venue is very charming, and fit our guests (120) easily. Do yourself a favor and have your wedding here. You will not be disappointed.

The Cuvier Club was a dream-come-true location for our wedding reception! We booked the venue, along with The Abbey Catering Company (a separate 5-star review was posted for them - each warrants its own outstanding review) for our wedding, and it was perfect. I was drawn to the Cuvier Club for its GORGEOUS courtyard space with a wall of bougainvillea, which I absolutely love. We had our cocktail hour in this space, and guests mingled there as the sun set, although it is also a great option for the ceremony (we were lucky enough to have our ceremony ocean-side at the nearby Cuvier Park/Wedding Bowl, but we would have gladly had the ceremony in the courtyard had we not been able to get the necessary park permit -- though if you do get the permit, it’s a very easy walk (we also used a golf cart for transport :))). The ballroom was beautiful on its own and full of possibilities. We ended up with a little over 100 guests, which fit comfortably and allowed for ample dance floor space, but it easily could have accommodated a much larger or smaller crowd - they are great at arranging the tables to meet your size needs. The space is already decorated with lanterns and market lights (and with the option to add uplighting and other decor), so we didn’t do much else to decorate the space - centerpieces and a few votives on each table. It’s a blank enough canvas though that you could add much more if you wanted to really personalize the space. They also have a perfect bridal room and plenty of other nooks and crannys if both the bride and the groom will be getting ready there (which was the case with us - and they were experts at making sure we didn’t see each other!). I will also add a mini-review for The Abbey Catering (mini because I - and many others - have done separate reviews specifically for this dream team). Bottom line: they are 100% top-notch. This is a spectacular group of wedding professionals who absolutely know how to make your big day as perfect as you ever envisioned while taking much of the stress of the planning process of your shoulders. Highly-organized, supremely detail-organized, and as friendly as they come are only a few of the praises these guys deserve. We personally had an awesome experience with Jack, Megan, and Chuck (though I can’t imagine there is a bad egg in the bunch). We could not have imagined a more perfect day than we had with the Abbey team at the Cuvier Club.

After deciding to stay local rather than a spring wedding in Maui , we are honestly grateful for the Cuvier Club. Best decision ever! LOVELOVELOVE. We couldn't be any happier with the assistance and help planning for our 4/6/17 wedding. To think we even debated going to a different venue is insane. Julie ( ha ha..same name).. PERFECT!!... was so accommodating with us throughout the entire process, and we felt so comfortable asking all the silly questions. Not only did she walk us through the cute town of La Jolla to show us her favorite place to bring the Hawaiian feeling we wanted we were shocked at her professionalism, and again-comfort level! I love the emails keeping in touch and asking how the planning is going. The Cuvier Club as a team has surpassed my expectations and the wedding hasn't even happened yet!! I love how simply, elegant and beautiful the venue is... we don't have to hardly decorate at all, it is so stunning as is. GET MARRIED HERE! you wont regret it.

I can't say enough great things about The Cuvier Club and their team. From the moment I spoke with them, they have been so pleasing to work with. Not once did I ever feel stressed during my wedding planning process, and even the day of our wedding this past Friday, I felt so relaxed. All I felt was excitement, and knowing my husband and I were in good hands with this team. My favorite part of this venue is that you can take your ideas and inspirations for your wedding and they can make it better. Every last detail, from the service, the décor, the happiness my guests felt, it was all PERFECT. \r\rI worked with Megan throughout the year, and she has been phenomenal, always answering our questions quickly and making sure we were happy every step of the way. We were assigned Petr Trebin as our wedding coordinator, and I could not be happier with his service. He made our wedding day magical, it was like it was straight out of a fairy tale. I don't think our wedding day could have gone more smoothly. All of my guests complimented us on how beautiful the ceremony was and how it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to, Every single guest said they have an amazing time at the reception, and almost everyone got out there and danced! I was not expecting this to happen. You could see it on the guests' faces how much fun they had. My husband and I pride ourselves on the experience the guests have, and it was just perfect. Petr always took the time to answer all my questions and even answered them when he was away from his office, which in my opinion, is beyond exceptional service. I never expected this from anyone, but that just made me that much more pleased with the experience we have had. Thank you Petr and Megan for everything, seriously! I could not imagine working with anyone differently, and wouldn't if I had the chance to do so. You guys were AMAZING. Me being an absolute perfectionist, it was nice to work with people who thought the same way I did. I can't say enough great things about The Cuvier Club and their team. From the moment I spoke with them, they have been so pleasing to work with. Not once did I ever feel stressed during my wedding planning process, and even the day of our wedding this past Friday, I felt so relaxed. All I felt was excitement, and knowing my husband and I were in good hands with this team. My favorite part of this venue is that you can take your ideas and inspirations for your wedding and they can make it better. Kris, my husband, and I were engaged in late February of 2014 and wanted to get married in October when San Diego is still warm for all of our guests to enjoy the beach. We began contacting venues right away. We are both from outside of San Diego and wanted a location where we could have more than 200 people if they could join us, but that was still close to the beach and reasonably priced. Cuvier Club was one of the few places that could hold our number of people. So that was the first plus. We went in to see the location and meet with Robert and the in-house catering team, The Abbey Catering & Event Design. \r\rRobert had been very helpful on the phone walking me through different scenarios and options. He was just as great in person. The outside area has a beautiful gate surrounding it with bougainvillea. For the reception, we brought in string lighting and Farmhouse/Wine Country style seating to the area for the cocktail reception (All using Farm Tables & More).\r\rThe inside space was very clean and well-kept. It was perfect to be able to make the space what I wanted and envisioned.\r\rAfter we put our deposit down and decided to choose the Cuvier Club, we were introduced to Megan. She was great in answering questions and helping us make sure everything went smooth. It was really easy and turnkey to have the catering in-house. The tastings were all amazing and we had a great experience with all of the options we tried.\r\rAs we prepared for our wedding night and reception, everything seemed to go really well. We had a few meetings and were up to speed. When I arrived everything looked beautiful. The catering and night of staff all were great. The whole night ran according to plan and went wonderfully. I could not have asked for anything more!!\r\rI would highly recommend the Cuvier Club and working with their team and Abbey Catering.\r\rA few notes for when you are searching. There were a few things I wasn't prepared to ask about when I was meeting with venues. Remember to ask about additional costs. Uplighting, outdoor lighting, hanging lanterns, etc. I wasn't prepared for these costs to be extra at some of the places I spoke to, so just a note to ask about the cost on everything you like.

I can't say enough good things about the Cuvier Club and it's staff. When I first found the place online I will admit that I wasn't overly impressed. When we went to see the place in person, however, I knew almost instantly that it was the right place for us. The place is very clean and \"simple\". I loved that it was basically a beautiful blank slate for any style of wedding I could possibly imagine. \r\rBut what really makes this venue the best out there is the staff. Every single person we came into contact with at Cuvier was BEYOND amazing and friendly and helpful. Megan, our wedding coordinator, is the BEST! If I had a crazy idea she found a way to make it happen. She somehow seemed to be everywhere at once making sure the day ran flawlessly smooth. During the rehearsal, the wedding itself, and even after it was all over I had so many wedding guests say \"who was that girl? she was so AMAZING!\" My response…\"THAT was Megan!\"\rI'm honestly so sad that our wedding is now over and I do not get to work with the Cuvier Club team any more. \rThe Cuvier Club exceeded all of my expectations and that is nearly impossible to do!

Located in a beautiful location near the Museum of Modern Art and Ocean, but away from the crowded touristy area of Downtown La Jolla. Plenty of street parking that is free after 4PM.\r\rThere is a ceremony space on the side that worked out beautifully, just make sure to check your sound beforehand. Nice long aisle for you to take your walk down.\r\rThe inside ballroom is breathtaking, especially when you take advantage of the high ceilings to decorate. The furniture they have on-site is quality and photographs well. \r\rYou can bring your own alcohol -- the BIGGEST advantage of using this venue!\r\rStaff were helpful and always available. Abbey Catering does an excellent job with the food they serve and provide you with multiple contacts during the day-of to ensure smooth running.\r\rHighly recommended!

I recently had my wedding at the Cuvier Club and thought that the venue was absolutely beautiful. We did not choose to go with the Abbey catering (which operates within Cuvier)and only rented the venue. Because of this, the service was not exceptional. I contacted the venue a couple days out to make sure everything was in order and only at that time was I told about securing vendor contracts and insurance requirements. Luckily all of my vendors were on top of it and took care of the paperwork right away but I almost freaked out at the prospect something could go wrong. Additionally, one of the little things that attracted me to the venue was the ability to hang lanterns from the string lighting, which you see in all the pictures advertising the venue. On the day of my wedding, the staff member that hangs them was not present and evidently they wouldn't allow my coordinator's staff to hang them, so that was super disappointing because it took away from my vision. Also, my coordinator was told that you couldn't turn off the main lights in the reception area and leave the string lighting on, which I don't think is true because in all of the pictures that is also how the venue is advertised, so the ambiance did not really meet my expectations for my wedding. The location is beautiful, just a couple of blocks from the beach. My bridal party was able to take pictures right on the cliffs at the \"wedding bowl\". There are also plenty of hotels nearby and it's walking distance to downtown La Jolla which was nice for the after party we had. I am satisfied with my overall experience but think the service could have been a bit better.

Got married here on a Friday in October and had a GREAT event! At first I was concerned about the parking, but that didn't seem to be a problem for any of the guests. The food was delicious and the staff was very helpful in planning the event.

We chose the Cuvier Club as our reception venue because it was the perfect size for the size of our wedding party. Additionally, the Abbey Catering kitchen/offices is located at the Cuvier Club, which was very convenient for us and them ; ) The venue is nice and spacious and has a slight ocean view. It is walking distance of hotels and walking distance in the heart of La Jolla. I would highly recommend this venue as a reception venue for more than 100 guests.

I loved the Cuvier club and their Abbey Catering staff. They are an efficient team that is for you an catches your vision quickly. They can be an all inclusive venue r DIY. They have tons of great vendor connections. Marvin Hanashiro was our wedding coordinator and he was fantastic. Petr Trebin handled the day of event coordination an he was just as great! I would highly recommend this venue to another bride!
