As a wedding planner I truly appreciated having a venue coordinator who was so pleasant to work alongside. It made the day smooth and cheerful for the couple and anyone looking to get married here would be in great hands!

The Darby House was the best wedding decision we made. Not only is it the most beautiful venue I’ve ever seen, the staff is phenomenal. Alissa was our day-of coordinator, along with Rebecca. Both were kind, fun, and professional and handled everything so perfectly. While we originally planned for an outdoor ceremony, due to the weather, we moved it indoors, and the indoor ceremony space was just as beautiful, this is not the case will all venues. When we had communication issues with our DJ, Alissa did everything she could to get in contact with them. We were so appreciative of their organization. The perfect venue, hands down.

We loved having our wedding at Darby House! Right from the start, we fell in love with the venue. The communication from their team has been phenomenal. They really helped us put together the most special day! The venue itself is gorgeous - there are so many beautiful places for photos, and having the wedding on the waterside terrace was amazing. Highly recommend!

We loved having our wedding at Darby House! Right from the start, we fell in love with the venue. The communication from their team has been phenomenal. They really helped us put together the most special day! The venue itself is gorgeous - there are so many beautiful places for photos, and having the wedding on the waterside terrace was amazing. I wish I could give the Darby House more than five stars! We had our wedding there on 05/13/23, and the staff, including Nicole and Elle, were AMAZING! They were helpful, professional, and kind and made wedding planning somewhat of a breeze! Our wedding went so smoothly, and I give a lot of credit to the fact that the Darby House was so organized and thorough on the wedding day and the weeks/months leading up to it! I can't say thank you enough to the staff at the Darby House for making our wedding perfect!

When we first saw Darby House we fell in love! It was the first and only venue we saw, and it was everything we were looking for all wrapped into one. The staff was so helpful and made our wedding day 100% stress free. If we had to do everything all over again, we wouldn't change a thing. We cannot recommend the Darby House enough!

Darby House was hands down the BEST vendor decision I made throughout my entire wedding planning process. Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the staff is also incredible. Nicole was always prompt to answer my never-ending stream of questions via email. On my wedding day, she was very organized and made sure everything ran smoothly. It brought me peace of mind knowing that both the indoor and outdoor ceremony sites would be beautiful, so I didn't need to stress about weather. Plus there are endless scenic photo locations on site! Darby House's wedding planning tools were also incredible. They make sure you think about every last necessary detail. Not to mention they have a very helpful blog, too! I can't recommend Darby House enough. I am over the moon with the services provided.

The moment we pulled up to the gate at Darby House we knew this was our venue. I loved that we could work with Cameron Mitchell for food, and have our choice of the rest of our desired vendors. Katarina was an amazing coordinator and paired with our wedding planner they were the dynamic duo! I liked that any changes we made to our add-ons or guest count was immediately updated on our invoice so we could track what our overall budget was. The planner they sent out was confusing but they were very responsive and helpful when it came to answering any questions! Guests could not stop talking about the elegance of the venue and the history of the owner in the separate room, great if you love sports! The included valet was one of my favorite parts of our wedding that added that little bit of *spice!*. 10./10 would recommend Darby House!!

The team there is so passionate and wonderful to work with. Katarina was our coordinator and she was incredible to work with during the planning process, accommodating as much as she could to our vision for the day, providing helpful suggestions, and even offered to make a sign for us for our ice cream cart. On our wedding day, we had to make a last second move to inside for a storm (thank goodness we did as it POURED), and Katarina and the team handled this seamlessly - not to mention the inside reception space is gorgeous. This also threw some wrinkles into our timeline for the rest of the evening, but we didn’t notice a thing. The Darby House team helped take the stress out of our hands, which helped us enjoy the day even more. And we honestly can’t say enough about the venue and property - we would have took pictures for hours if we could just to hit all the incredible and unique photo spots. And the amount of people who complimented the venue space, or said “this is so cool”, or “the drive into here is so pretty” was cool to hear. If you’ve skipped everything above, just know that you can’t make a better decision than Darby House for your wedding day.

The second I went to tour Darby House, I could immediately envision my wedding day there. Now, after having my wedding, I can say that it was everything I could have dreamed of and more. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I can't say enough about Katarina! She worked with us all year, making sure we were organized and went above and beyond to help our vision come to life. She kept everything running so smoothly and was super involved all day long. My husband and I are so incredibly thankful we choose Darby House for our special day!

We had an excellent wedding at Darby House. Not only is the venue truly made for weddings and set up in the best possible way, but the staff made our day flow seamlessly. They were easy to work with, listened to what we wanted, and were incredible with ironing out all the little details.

Having our wedding at the Darby House was by far the BEST investment of our money throughout our wedding planning journey. I researched for hours and dragged my fiance (at the time) to so many venue walk throughs all around Columbus...none even compared to the Darby House in the value, friendliness, collaboration, and beautiful scenery for the price. At the Darby House I got an amazing coordinator, Nicole, who walked me through the entire process and was just as detail-focused as I was. I felt like we were family to them, and I don't say that lightly. I remember when I was about to walk down the aisle, and I was extremely nervous, and I looked at Nicole and she held my shoulders and helped me breathe until I calmed down...that's the kind of attention a bride needs! Beyond the support we received, I also have to sing the praises for the venue in general. It was gorgeous, even on a day where we experienced snow, hail, and rain all at the same time. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The bride/groom suites were perfect for us while we were getting ready. My guests LOVED the trophy room and were so amazed looking at the cool memorabilia. My vendors were able to come through and set up without a hitch, and we even met all together prior to the big day to discuss details. I loved that I was able to add different packages onto my experience, including linens and lights. Overall, I am SO happy with our choice. I really felt like we could not have picked a better place to spend so much of our hard-earned money. I would do it again, if I had the chance!!

I cannot say enough about this AMAZING venue and their team! The venue itself is beautiful and versatile for any style of wedding. Nicole and her team are unmatched in my opinion. Any questions that I needed answered were addressed efficiently and thoroughly, they worked diligently to customize anything that we wanted to see for our day and they did it with ease and grace. Our day was absolutely perfect in every way and I truly believe a lot of that is credited to Nicole, her team and the entire staff at the Darby House!

I cannot say enough about this AMAZING venue and their team! The venue itself is beautiful and versatile for any style of wedding. Nicole and her team are unmatched in my opinion. Any questions that I needed answered were addressed efficiently and thoroughly, they worked diligently to customize anything that we wanted to see for our day and they did it with ease and grace. Our day was absolutely perfect in every way and I truly believe a lot of that is credited to Nicole, her team and the entire staff at the Darby House!

The venue is absolutely beautiful! Our day of coordinator, Katarina, helped us so much with planning. Through emails, phone calls, and walk throughs, she answered all of our questions and helped us prep for the big day. We would recommend Darby House to any couples that are looking for a venue! You will not be disappointed! On our wedding day, all of the event staff who helped with the wedding did a phenomenal job. Taking care of the guests was clearly their top priority as everyone was well fed, had plenty of drinks and were able to enjoy every minute of their time there.

The Darby House is a beautiful venue with so many amenities that made for a wonderful wedding experience. Having the entire property to yourself gives your guests a private and spacious event space. We had our ceremony outdoors on the patio, dinner in the dining room, and cocktail hour and dancing in the racing room. This allowed us to enjoy the entire space, with a quiet space away from the dance floor for anyone who needed a break!Darby House provides a day of coordinator, who helps keep everything running smoothly, from directing vendors as they arrive and set up, to making sure the ceremony starts on time, to helping with the flow of the wedding. In the planning period, you are matched with this same coordinator, so they really get to know you and your event. We were with Nicole originally, but after our postponement we worked with Jade. We were planning from out-of-state, so most of our meetings were by phone or conversing via email. Jade was always willing to check on our requests or verify information. She was fantastic on our wedding day, helping keep the bridal parties on time, setting out place cards and decor, driving us around for photos, making sure the lights were dimmed and dinner and dessert were served... She took away the list of worries you have leading up to the day, and made sure my husband and I, and our parents, could enjoy ourselves! The Darby House provides a GoogleDoc for planning that was very comprehensive, detailing everything we didn’t know we needed to decide, but was also a bit finicky to fill out. Hopefully some of that was related to pandemic-restrictions, and it will be back to fully editable in the future!When we wanted to postpone due to the pandemic, the Darby House was able to accommodate our request for our preferred new date. A silver lining to this was that during the slow 2020 season, Darby House underwent renovations that we were able to enjoy! The bridal suite is spacious and beautifully lit. We were able to have hair and makeup for the entire bridal party, as well as lovely bridal photos in this space. Meanwhile, the groomsmen enjoyed hanging out in their own room, complete with foosball.As far as other vendors, there is a selection of caterers to pick from. The Darby House can provide suggestions to other vendors they’ve worked with (their DJ suggestion was amazing!). They were more than willing to accommodate our vendors, and the day-of coordinator handles communication the week of the wedding, which was one less thing for us to worry about!There are a number of provided amenities and extras that you can select to personalize your experience. There are multiple bar packages to choose from (Darby House has their own liquor license, so they supply all bartenders and alcohol, but are happy to work with you on signature drinks). There is a wide assortment of linen colors available. Arbors can be borrowed for the ceremony, as well as easels and a few decor items. Chairs can be upgraded if you would like (we used the standard option). We received so many compliments on the space all night from our guests! It looked magical! The river is a lovely backdrop, and floor to ceiling windows in every room mean the indoor space feels bright and open. To take advantage of the property, the couple can be taken on the golf cart to take pictures throughout the property. If you’re looking for a venue with beautiful natural setting, but an elevated interior, look no further than the Darby House.

Darby House is one of the most beautiful places to get married in Columbus, Ohio! We loved that our guests would see the beautiful drive through the property as a precursor to our wedding!Jade was fantastic from start to finish! I am a very organized person in general, and Jade was just as organized! She took care of every detail, and followed up with our other vendors to make sure everything went well! DH has a shared spreadsheet that the couple collaborates on, and they remind you of all the decisions you have to make, then you can each update it to keep \"one version of the truth\" on all the wedding details. This tool was crucial to keeping us on the same page.The day of our wedding, it started to rain after we arrived at the venue to get ready. It really poured and we took our first look photos in the racing room (which turned out beautifully). The rain stopped and everything outside was soaked. My Mom even showed up and asked Jade what could be done and she said \"We have towels!\" :) (Jade was already on it!) They cleaned up all the water on the patio, wiped down all the chairs and we got married at the waterside terrace with no issues! The rest of the evening was priceless. Every part of the evening went off without a hitch, and I didn't even notice any of the logistics going on in the background. My husband and I left during the sparkler send off but I'm told that Darby house staff made the clean up effort short work! (our families helped grab our stuff and gave us feedback).I've had so many guests tell me that our wedding was the best wedding they've ever been to! And a friend of mine just got engaged, and I asked her \"Have you booked Darby House yet\"? :)Thanks to Jade and the entire Darby House team, we had a wonderful, unforgettable wedding!

With the beautiful tree lines and white fences, my husband and I could already picture the pictures we could take there. Things only got better when we saw the actual venue and how GORGEOUS it is. The waterside terrace made for an absolutely dreamy wedding ceremony, and I couldn’t imagine a better reception room for after. Throughout our entire engagement, the staff at Darby House, especially Alexa and Nicole, was so flexible, responsive and helpful. For example, since most of our wedding party was coming from out of town, Alexa was willing to do a late-Friday rehearsal for us. My husband and I were both the first in our families to get married, but Alexa was so organized and asked us anything we’d need to decide on for the wedding. And on our wedding day, Alexa was there from start to finish, helping everything run SO smoothly. I really don’t think there’s anything that could have made our wedding day any better — it was perfect! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

We got married here in August and it was absolutely gorgeous. This was our top choice of venue and it was everything we imagined. Jade was amazing and provided clear communication and helped us with the different planning processes. She was quick to respond whenever we had questions. Due to some minor inconveniences, such as lawn renovation, Jade was gracious in offering us upgrades to make up for this. The staff was great to work with night of. When it comes to caterer selections, DEFINITELY go with Catering by Scott. Him and his staff are amazing and the food was delicious. We kept getting raves about the food we had at our wedding. The only issue that we had was with the bar. There is a strict no shot policy, which is fine and totally understandable but this also made it that you could not get any liquor on the rocks which a lot of our friends/family are bourbon drinkers and couldn't drink just bourbon. The same thing occured when a couple of people wanted a martini. While this is minor and totally understandable it was a little frustrating when my grandfather couldn't get the martini he wanted. Everyone had a great time though and we would absolutely recommend Darby House to anyone.

The Darby House is a gorgeous wedding venue, really one of the most beautiful venues I've seen in the central Ohio area. If you are looking for a place that is just as beautiful inside as it is outside, this is it! Not only are the views great, there are wonderful amenities such as spacious bride and groom suites, valet parking, a golf cart to take around for photos, and more. We had not one, but two events at Darby thanks to COVID. In July of 2020 we had our ceremony there, with a very limited guest list. More recently, on August 20 (2021) we finally got to have our reception! On both days our coordinators Nicole and Alexa were wonderful at ensuring everything ran smoothly and on time. I felt especially comforted on the day of our reception, walking in and seeing the preferred caterer we chose, working seamlessly with the Darby House team to get tables set and food prepped for the event.The reason we gave 4/5 stars is we felt there were some unnecessary hurdles we had to jump through given the state of the world. We had to change the date of our reception twice and when we finally settled on August, we were charged more since it is a busy season. While that would make sense during any other year, we wish there was more flexibility given the circumstances. We also felt there wasn't much flexibility with the bar offerings which led us to end up going with the most expensive option, the open bar. Finally, in between our two events no one at Darby had notified us that our original caterer had gone under until 3 months prior to our event and we had to scramble to getting that in order.Those few inconveniences we feel reflect more on the owners versus the individual staff that make your day happen... they just have to enforce rules set by the owners. To reiterate, we really were thankful for both Nicole (and especially) Alexa for making our days so seamless and allowing us to enjoy the fun!Overall we had a pleasant experience with The Darby House and we are thankful for those who helped make our two wonderful wedding days possible!

The venue is truly beautiful and the staff are awesome. The event coordinators are with you every step of the way and have a lot of great advice as you are planning. Definitely listen to them, they know what they are doing. Our only complaint is that they really do not have internet capable of running live-streams of the wedding. We found this out about an hour before our ceremony and had family around the country waiting to tune in. In the time of COVID, we found this to be really unacceptable given the large amounts of individuals that could not be physically present for the wedding. If this is something that you are concerned with, I would make sure you have a conversation with the venue about it.

Overall, we are so glad that we picked the Darby House to host our big day. The first time we toured the venue, we immediately fell in love. The staff are extremely nice, the venue is incredibly beautiful and needs very minimal decor as it is naturally beautiful. Our main reason for going with Darby house was for their flexible weather plan. We wanted somewhere that if there was inclement weather, we would be more than happy with our backup plan. While the weather was beautiful the day of, the indoor option is just as beautiful! Nicole is amazing and really made our day run surprisingly so smooth. (Which is such a little detail that really meant a lot) The first thing we said when we left on our wedding night was “I cannot believe how smooth that went and how amazing everything was. I wouldn’t change a thing” The only advice I would have to Darby house would be to lower alcohol cost as it is $6 per beer. A typical 24 pk of bottle beer is around $25. Charging 6$ a beer would be a $144 case which just seems like a lot to me to profit on beer. Also be aware you cannot bring many items in before hand such as any type of beverages (nonalcoholic included) or food, as it should all be through the caterer or bar at the venue. This is totally understandable as it is their decision, but we weren’t fully aware of all of that when signing and it was just a little detail that we didn’t love. Also, guest are not allowed to leave cars behind or you receive a large charge, which we were originally very worried about but luckily it worked out!!Again, that is really all the negative I could possibly say. All around, if the Darby house fits your budget, you would EXTREMELY satisfied with your choice of choosing them to host your special day. We know we are!

Overall, we are so glad that we picked the Darby House to host our big day. The first time we toured the venue, we immediately fell in love. The staff are extremely nice, the venue is incredibly beautiful and needs very minimal decor as it is naturally beautiful. Our main reason for going with Darby house was for their flexible weather plan. We wanted somewhere that if there was inclement weather, we would be more than happy with our backup plan. While the weather was beautiful the day of, the indoor option is just as beautiful! Nicole is amazing and really made our day run surprisingly so smooth. Unbelievably beautiful wedding venue AND truly wonderful staff. If you're looking for a lovely outdoor setting with a reasonable rain/adverse weather plan, Darby House is the PERFECT venue for you. We were so impressed by how flexible the staff was in terms of adverse weather plans. So many venues force you to decide whether the event will be indoors/outdoors days in advance, but Darby House is incredibly flexible. They clearly just want the best experience possible for you as a couple and it shows. Jade and Nicole were absolutely wonderful coordinators to work with and were always super responsive to our many questions, particularly during COVID. As a COVID bride (wedding date was May 15, 2021), I couldn't recommend this venue enough for their caring and helpful attitude. They even allowed my parents to tour the venue during the height of COVID which made them so happy. The new renovations are also really incredible, with the bridal suite very modern and comfortable. My bridal party of 10 plus mother/mother in law all fit very comfortably there before the ceremony and it was a great place for us to take a moment after the ceremony whether that was to bustle, cry, laugh or just appreciate what a wonderful wedding we had at Darby House. I still feel like my wedding was a dream there and it is largely in part to their caring professionalism and lovely staff. THANK YOU!!

How do we even start talking about how special Darby House made our wedding day?!We honestly and truly cannot put into words how wonderful our experience was at this venue. The people who make this beautiful property a wedding venue cared so deeply about my wife and I that it overflowed into an overwhelmingly joyful experience for every guest and outside vendor that we had with us on our wedding day. From our florist and photographer to our parents, all anyone could talk about was how amazing and special the Darby House made our ceremony!The property itself was absolutely gorgeous! The large trees and white farm fences that line the long driveway back to the river made my wife feel like a princess when she arrived. Even though we had our wedding before weather can be counted on (early April), the option at Darby House to seamlessly move our ceremony inside or out took all the stress away as we focused on our important day. We were blessed with a 70 degree day and loved getting to say our vows with a beautiful arbor (supplied by Darby House) and the backdrop of the moving water and budding hillside behind us. It was perfect!Did I mention that they accomplished all of this for us on 6 days notice?? We were unable to utilize our previously planned venue due to the social implications and complications of the coronavirus. A friend of ours reached out to the Darby House to check on the possibility of having our ceremony on their property and that was the last moment we had to worry about a thing. In less than a week we had an entirely new wedding planned and executed with no stores open, no supplies, and all our previous ideas no longer possible. If you are planning a wedding and want to work with a beautiful venue that cares about you enough to be on your side when you need them most than the Darby House is the venue for you. We have so much to thank them for and will smile on our wedding day for the rest of our lives because of the incredible love and support they invested into making our day incredible!

completely disappointed with darby house i kept trying and trying to set up a tour with them it was the place i wanted my wedding at and i could never get an answer from anyone i finally after a month and a half got a tour scheduled onky to get an email saying that they had to reschedule because they scheduled a rehearsal at the same time. i let all that go and emailed right back and told them that was ok and told them when i was available. that was at least 2 months ago and i still havnt gotten anything. very disappointing.

Having our wedding at Darby House made all my dreams come true. First, the venue holds historic value-- it is situated on Darby Dan Farm, a farm that produced multiple thoroughbred horse racing champions. Because of this, a former US President and British royalty have visited the farm. The venue itself holds many historical artifacts of note, including artwork and memorabilia, which were fun for guests to enjoy during the reception. Secondly, the venue itself is gorgeous and well maintained. When you enter the property, you enter through a gate and stone fence, then drive down about a mile of white fenced, tree-lined driveway to the outwardly quaint looking house. Upon entering, you are greeted with an entire wall of floor to ceiling windows with sweeping views of the Big Darby Creek, a state and nationally recognized scenic river. There are two large rooms on either side of the entryway; on the left, the Dining Room, and on the right, the Racing Room. Bathrooms are situated discreetly in between, and there are plenty of stalls for guests. The bridal suite, consisting of two rooms, is situated off the Dining Room, tucked away and out of sight. The Racing Room features two walls of floor to ceiling windows, one with views of the Big Darby and one with views of the grounds, including a walk out patio. The Dining Room features a nook of floor to ceiling windows with creek views and in summer, sunset views. There are two ceremony options: outdoors, on the shaded Waterside Terrace, or indoors, in the Racing Room. We elected to have our ceremony in the Racing Room, followed by hors d'oeuvres and dancing. We held dinner in the Dining Room. CMPE can flip any room within 6 minutes-- my husband and I watched the transformation of one room and it was incredible. We worked with Emily, Jessie, and Chandra, the coordinators of this venue and representatives of CMPE. They were all professional, pleasant, and prompt. Emily in particular was amazing because she was confident and a good manager. Working with her in the days leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day left me with no doubt that our event would be executed with precision and perfection. We worked with CMPE to select all food, the style of bar service that suited our needs, and the decorative displays throughout the venue. There are major benefits to working with CMPE: tables and chairs, china, flatware, glassware, cake cutting utensils, linens, catering, and displays are all provided in house. This made planning a wedding from another city much easier, because the only other vendors I had to book myself were cake, entertainment, flowers, and the pastor. Our family and friends had the best time at our wedding and loved the outdoor and indoor space. The food was impeccable and our guests left feeling happy and full. Every need our guests had was met by Emily and her incredible staff. At one point, Chandra even walked my husband and I into a side door so our big entrance into the reception could remain a big entrance. We had no worries on our wedding day-- it was perfect, and this is largely due to the Darby House and CMPE. The food was amazing, the venue itself was gorgeous (we had our ceremony outside, reception inside), the staff was friendly and helpful, and everything went so smoothly! We have gotten so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful and fun our wedding was, and I know it was all thanks to the calm, cool, and collected staff (and the amazing Jessie!) of the Darby House. The food was amazing, the venue itself was gorgeous (we had our ceremony outside, reception inside), the staff was friendly and helpful, and everything went so smoothly! We have gotten so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful and fun our wedding was, and I know it was all thanks to the calm, cool, and collected staff (and the amazing Jessie!) of the Darby House. I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone in the Columbus area!

The Darby House made for a STUNNING wedding venue. I knew it was beautiful in the moment, but our pictures and wedding video continue to confirm that's true. We got married on the back patio along the river and we had the most perfect weather we could have asked for. Jessie was our wedding coordinator and such a delight to work with. Any concerns we brought to the table were calmed after a meeting with her. She was very flexible when we needed it and made sure that the execution was flawless. We would choose the Darby House again 100%. Things we loved: valet parking, beautiful landscape for the wedding and pictures, and having a wedding coordinator to help along the way.

We had our July 29th wedding at the Darby House and it was anything short of magical. This setting is so special in that it is one of the only places in Columbus that makes you feel secluded and in a whole other world. Everything from the gated grand entrance, to the driveway lined in gorgeous trees, to the patio lit by white lights around the trees, and the gorgeous overlook of Darby Creek. Side note to take into account, the have a free valet service which is nice since the lot is a bit away from the property. My husband and I got married on the terrace which provided great shade for the guests as well as a beautiful view of the Creek with ample wildlife. The backdrop is so naturally gorgeous there is no need for much of any decorations, we had an arch to stand under from our florist and it was perfect. We had our cocktail Hour in the Racing Room ( a room of floor to ceiling windows, that also doubled as the rain back up plan and had a very similar view to the terrace.) This was a wonderful place for the guests to grab drinks and food but also to mingle on the gorgeous patio. It was a wonderful flow. The reception room was a dream! It still overlooked the outside backdrop with floor to ceiling windows and had a stage that was perfect for the DJ and for our parents to give their speeches so everyone was able to see them. The dance floor was plenty big enough for our large party of 210 guests. The food was also spectacular!!! We went with a Farmer's market salad that got rave reviews from our guests and a choice of Boursin stuffed Chicken, Flat Iron Steak, or Pasta alla Vodka. Every guest cleared their plate as far as I could tell!! The cake serving was also very professional and quick for the guests! I recommend setting the dessert bar up in the hallway to give guests more room like we did. Also don't forget to ask about the antique popcorn machine for late night snack! It is a cheap alternative to paying for more food and helps when people are drinking and dancing. Overall, we wouldn't change a thing about our day. We adored the staff at Darby House and they were so helpful! Alex C. Was who we worked with from Cameron Mitchell and she was wonderful throughout the entire experience!

We had planned for an outdoor ceremony, but the day of, we were bombarded by off-and-on thunderstorms. Jessie, our coordinator through the Darby House, talked me through the whole change-up process. She made sure to come to me for final decisions regarding moving things indoors. Jessie thought quickly on her feet and we were able to get the ball rolling for an indoor ceremony right on schedule! I was in the back waiting to come out for my entrance, so I had no idea what this new indoor look would consist of . . . oh. my. word. Everything was SO beautiful! I couldn't have asked for a more stunning rainy day ceremony :)Also, the food was INCREDIBLE. We had people RAVING about how great the food was. Jessie made sure to accommodate EVERY request we had; there were a few gluten-free meals, vegetarians, and even on GF/VG combo, and they were not left out for the food! We went with the buffet and had the chicken, short ribs, crispy potatoes, bread...all the good stuff! We also had hors d'oeuvres and cocktails before the ceremony (with a Friday wedding we knew people would be coming from work hungry!). While this was slightly untraditional, Jessie made sure to make this twist a fun one! We chose the buffalo chicken dip, veggies and dip, and chicken & waffle bites, plus we did a signature drink (called \"She Said Yes!\" Everyone LOVED them!). If you're thinking of doing a Friday wedding, consider doing this cocktail hour before the wedding! All of our guests couldn't stop talking about how great it was to go right into the reception after the ceremony and to have had something small to eat and drink before the ceremony began.Throughout the planning process, Jessie was VERY prompt with responding to emails and questions. I always knew that I would have a quick answer to my seemingly giant problems XD she did a wonderful job of making the planning process as smooth as possible. She was also very accommodating when it came to scheduling tours; multiple people in both of our families wanted to check out the venue throughout the planning process, and she made sure to work around all of the crazy schedules!We couldn't have asked for a better wedding. All of our guests were telling us that this wedding was \"the party of century!\" I wish we could have been there forever! The Darby House was absolutely beautiful and the perfect venue for our brunch wedding! The venue itself had fantastic scenery and so many beautiful places for photos and a lot of cool history that our guests enjoyed. The food was absolutely AMAZING. We had our pick of any item from Cameron Mitchell restaurants, as well as another huge catering list. Our favorites were the Marcella's meatball sliders and a specialty made cinnamon roll cake that was both tasty and beautiful! (Our guests are still talking about both 2 months later!) The absolute best part of the experience was working with Jessie. She is amazing. Jessie met with us several times to get our \"vision\" for the day just right. Every single special request we threw at her she made happen. She made sure we were comfortable with everything and ran through the logistics of the event several times. She was professional, personal, had great ideas, was great with communication, and took care of everything! She is the type of planner that asks \"If I see you without a drink in your hand, what would you like me to bring you?\" Every last detail was perfectly planned. On the day of our wedding she coordinated everything perfectly without a rehearsal, and made sure we had everything we needed, exactly when we needed it, without being overbearing. I cannot say enough good things about Jessie and CMPE. They were outstanding and we could not have picked a better venue/caterer/planner/coordinator!

Would give 6 stars if we could! Everything about working with The Darby House team was fantastic. We worked with Abby for most of the planning process; she did an amazing job! She was helpful in guiding us through all of the details for the wedding, and was very prompt in getting back to us. A few weeks before the wedding we found out Abby was no longer able to be at The Darby House the day of our wedding. Alex stepped in as wedding coordinator and picked up right where Abby left off. The transition was executed seamlessly and Alex did a phenomenal job with our whole wedding weekend, from the rehearsal through the ceremony and reception. She was very accessible on the days leading up to the wedding, which was very helpful and definitely minimized some of the stress. Overall, the food was very good, better than most weddings we've been to. We received several compliments on it from family and friends. The appetizers were not quite as good as the samples we tasted but still good. Dinner was delicious. The staff was very friendly.The venue itself was beautiful. We had our ceremony on the flagstone courtyard overlooking the creek. Luckily we did not need it, but they do offer a rain backup in the dining room. The whole property was lovely and offered a lot of great photo opportunities. Overall we were very happy with The Darby House and would definitely recommend it.

I couldn't have asked for more! Yes, they are a bit pricey but it comes with SO much tender, love, and care! Jessie, our coordinator, was the most perfect person I could have asked to plan and execute my wedding. She was so quick in her responses in my concerns and last minute changes. She made me feel so relaxed and comfortable that she would decorate the venue exactly the way I had it envisioned....and she did. I couldn't have asked for better. She was such a doll to work with. We even had my newborn nephew being watched in the bridal suite for half the night with his in laws and she was sweet enough to set up a nice table in there that looked just like ours out in the reception area; tended to them and even gave them dinner (at our request). I really do hope if you book with Darby House you get to experience the wonderfulness that is Jessie.\r\rThe staff was so attentive and amazing and made my husband and I feel like the King and Queen that day. They put together everything perfectly and were an absolute joy!\r\rThe food and drinks was absolute amazing. She offered great ideas and suggestions for our ceremony and reception that fit within our budget. Emily also made sure everything went smoothly on the day of our event. The Darby House is amazing in all respects! I truly enjoyed my entire experience. From the beginning I was a bride on a budget and both Abby and then Emily worked with me to create a morning wedding that exceeded all of my expectations. I am also a student without too much free time so they were great with answering questions via e-mail and making sure I got my vendors in place. They were receptive to all of my ideas, from serving a huge variety of finger food instead of a sit-down meal, to having a balloon artist as my \"favor.\" The Darby House itself and the grounds are beautiful, both in sun and rain, and so quiet - which is great because most venues are subject to traffic noise. Several of my guests said that this was the most organized, most touching wedding they had been to and I think that is because the Darby house was such a perfect venue and Emily especially took care of every tiny detail. I recommend the Darby House to everyone, you will enjoy the experience and the food is beyond outstanding, love it!

Our coordinator, Emily, was in constant contact with us from the moment we put down our deposit, and helped us with everything from choosing appetizers to getting a photo booth. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous - the courtyard where the ceremony took place was indescribable, especially with twinkle lights around the trees and hanging from the branches. The reception area was fantastic, and everything was set up perfectly without any guidance needed from us - the Cameron Mitchell staff really know what they are doing. I can't stress how highly I recommend this venue!

My husband and I got married at The Darby House and absolutely loved our experience. Everything about this venue is stunning and the services are wonderful. Once we got about three months out from our date we were assigned a coordinator, Abby, and we were in constant contact with her and she was always available for questions and concerns. On the wedding day, they incorporated decorations that matched our theme and really went the extra mile to make sure our day was memorable. Abby was exceptional to work with and was not only dependable, but truly seemed like she loved her job. They boxed up extra meals and packed it in our car for the honeymoon at the end of the day. I would 100% recommend The Darby House to anyone. Amazing service and I can walk away saying that we had the perfect wedding day and I wouldn't change a thing.

My daughter and son-in-law were married at Darby House yesterday (7-17-15), and I am excited to be able to write a review. From beginning to end the staff at Darby House were kind, helpful and went above and beyond in caring for every detail and every aspect of the wedding. \rWe could not afford a hugely extravagant wedding, and when we went for our first visit, we were given options to make the venue affordable for us. The staff was responsive throughout the planning process. My daughter and son-in-law both have special dietary needs, and these were taken seriously and addressed carefully. \rThe rehearsal was helpful, and because of the schedule, we were fortunate to be able bring the majority of the things we needed to have for the wedding and reception that night before. They set up and decorated all of the tables so that we could focus on last minute details and enjoy the rehearsal dinner.\rThe day of the wedding, our wedding coordinator (Abby) was a joyful, happy and calming presence for us. She attended to the details and gave the staff their instructions. And this was so wonderful! They didn't just set up what we brought. They took the general theme for the wedding and added additional props and decorations to make everything look extra special. The servers were attentive, professional, and lovely. During the reception, the staff set up the table with the favors beautifully. And the food was amazing! We had a brunch wedding, and the menu included fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon (So.Good.), sausage, and upside down french toast. It was really, really good. We had so many compliments on the food, and I want to pass them on! Bravo to the chef!\rThe biggest surprise to me came after the wedding and reception. The staff packed up food for the newlyweds to take with them for their honeymoon, which was lovely and thoughtful. After my daughter and son-in-law left, I asked people to stay and help us clean up, but every time I mentioned a task that needed to be done, the staff was already handling it. They packed up everything we brought and the leftover food(!), and organized it for us so that all we had to do was take it out to our cars. I was home at least an hour sooner than I expected. \rI cannot recommend Darby House highly enough. It's a drive (the only downside for us), but totally worth it. We were very, very happy with the day and with Darby House. Thank you!

They set up and decorated all of the tables so that we could focus on last minute details and enjoy the rehearsal dinner.\rThe day of the wedding, our wedding coordinator (Abby) was a joyful, happy and calming presence for us. She attended to the details and gave the staff their instructions. And this was so wonderful! They didn't just set up what we brought. They took the general theme for the wedding and added additional props and decorations to make everything look extra special. The servers were attentive, professional, and lovely. During the reception, the staff set up the table with the favors beautifully. And the food was amazing! We had a brunch wedding, and the menu included fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon (So.Good.), sausage, and upside down french toast. It was really, really good. We had so many compliments on the food, and I want to pass them on! Bravo to the chef!\rThe biggest surprise to me came after the wedding and reception. The staff packed up food for the newlyweds to take with them for their honeymoon, which was lovely and thoughtful. After my daughter and son-in-law left, I asked people to stay and help us clean up, but every time I mentioned a task that needed to be done, the staff was already handling it. They packed up everything we brought and the leftover food(!), and organized it for us so that all we had to do was take it out to our cars. I was home at least an hour sooner than I expected. \rI cannot recommend Darby House highly enough. It's a drive (the only downside for us), but totally worth it. We were very, very happy with the day and with Darby House. Thank you!

When we said we wanted comfort foods she helped think of great side dishes to pair with our mains. When we showed her pictures of cake table/centerpiece tables/etc she was able to go off that decor and decorate for the buffet line and cocktail hour perfectly. When we said we wanted recommendations for DJ (since we were living out of state at that time) she gave great recommendations. \r\rThe staff was ABSOLUTELY on point. From the valet (on a super rainy day) to the wait/bar staff. \"Can I get anything for you\" \"Is there anything you need\" was such a common phrase from them...they all really know how to cater. \r\rUsually the biggest complaints from guests at a wedding is the food. By far that was in the top 5 compliments for our wedding; everyone loved the food and had nothing but great things to say about it. \r\rThe food, staffing, decor, venue space..really everything was perfect. It all turned out exactly how I envisioned it..it was awesome to see them match to a T. \r\rI would highly recommend CMPE for a wedding event. From the inside/outside grounds, staff and food..it was all amazing. There wasn't a single complaint in my mind or anything I would change. A day to never forget, that's for sure.

The Darby House was absolutely exquisite!!! We had planned for an outdoor wedding, but decided to move indoors as it was raining. We didn't have to make the decision until 30 minutes prior to the event, and the set-up happened that quickly! Even with it being indoors, we still got the beautiful background pictures because of the glass in the Racing Room. It cleared up after the wedding and we got the outdoor pictures we wanted. Champagne and appetizers were served outside, which guests loved. We planned with Abby prior to the event and she was spectacular! She made every single thing happen. Our guests were very impressed with the venue and the professionalism. Many of our 200 guests stayed all night long, dancing and enjoying the atmosphere (both outside and in). I seriously cannot express my gratitude to the staff and my love for this place enough! It was truly the \"simply elegant\" wedding I had always dreamed of.

We had a brunch at the reception and the food was outstanding. They helped us load the car afterward which was really appreciated. The venue itself worked out great--little kids were able to play outside while the adults danced after the meal.

Our wedding at Darby House was absolutely amazing! Mike Redcay and the Cameron Mitchell Premier Events team blew our expectations away! Everything went off without a hitch. Our guests are still talking about how our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to! From the incredible food to the professional staff, the beautiful venue, and everything in between, we couldn't be happier with how our wedding turned out. \rMike was a blast to work with. Even from the very beginning planning phases, Mike thought of things that never would have even crossed my mind. He let us plan everything exactly how we wanted, but also gave extremely helpful professional advice where we needed the help. He knows weddings like no one I've ever met! \rMy mom can be difficult to please and Mike worked with me to assure everyone in my family was happy with the process. He personally called me to talk through details and make sure that everyone's opinions were heard. \rMike helped us put together a schedule of the evening and everything ran smoothly. I felt confident and comfortable the entire day and I knew the Cameron Mitchell Premier Events team would make everything perfect. \rIt rained for a good portion of the afternoon leading up to our outdoor ceremony. Like any bride, I was a bit anxious. Mike and the CMPE team assured me that I would have my outdoor terrace wedding dream! First off let me start with the positive things: the venue is gorgeous and clean. The food was good (not above expectations though) and plated very nicely. \rNow the bad: Working with their wedding coordinator (that you are paying an arm and a leg for) are incompetent, hard to get ahold of, makes false promises, provides misinformation and in general is a nightmare to work with. On my actual wedding day a lot of things were promised that never occurred including, but not limited to:\r1) The tables were numbered incorrectly which left grandparents right by the loud dance floor which made them leave early.\r2) We were promised all leftover food and cake. There was tons of leftover appetizers and cake and miraculously disappeared (this was after all of the guests had left) and they told us there was no leftover food.\r3) The wedding coordinator that we were paying for left before our wedding was over.\r4) We were given a description of one of our side dishes, which we had printed on our menu, and then they did not include all of those items in the actual side dish.\r5) We were promised that people would be able to have their choice of cake by the servers asking them which flavor they preferred. This did not occur, the servers all just plopped down whatever in front of everyone without asking.\r6) We paid A LOT of money to have our guests have the option of having ice cream with their cake. We were promised that the servers would ask our guests if they wanted ice cream with their cake or not. Again, this did not occur they just plopped down whatever flavor and ice cream or no ice cream in front of everyone. We paid for ice cream for everyone and only half of our guests received, whether or not they wanted it. Even as the BRIDE I did not get to choose what flavor cake and if I wanted ice cream or not. I just got whatever shoved in front of me.\r\rOverall extremely disappointing and I am very unsatisfied. You can TOP dollar at this place to receive false promises and not even mediocrity.

The Darby House is a beautiful place to get married. We had a winter wedding, so it was nice to have the ceremony and reception at the same location. Our guests loved the food by Cameron Mitchell Catering and went back for seconds and even thirds. The staff did a great job making sure all the major details ran smoothly the day of the wedding.\r\rThere are just a few nitpicky things I would have done differently. The TV that our slideshow played on should have been placed in the racing room during cocktail hour so that guests could have something to look at while mingling. Instead, we had it in the reception room, which was stupid because only the people sitting next to it actually saw it. The Darby House should invest in a projector so that a slideshow can be played on a big screen for everyone to see at the reception instead of on a little TV. \r\rThen, I was disappointed right before walking down the aisle because their floors were so dirty that the bottom of my dress turned light brown. I'm sure it wasn't that noticeable to anyone else, but I noticed and it showed when the train was spread out. I just had to take a deep breath and not be too bothered by it since there was nothing I could do about it. \r\rThe only other thing that bothered me was how the flow of events at the Darby House for an indoors wedding interferes with taking formal portraits. Basically, you have the ceremony followed by a cocktail hour in the racing room. Eventually, everyone moves to the reception hall for dinner and dancing. This flow of events makes it really awkward to take formal pictures in the racing room AFTER the ceremony because all the guests are still in there for the cocktail hour. We felt like all the guests would be gawking at us and taking pictures with their phones the entire time. In hindsight, we should have just taken pictures in there anyways right after the ceremony, even if it would have been chaotic. I recommend taking pictures before the ceremony so that you can get some beautiful shots with all the flowers and while there is still great lighting. We didn't want to see each other until I was walking down the aisle, though, so we did formal pictures in between the ceremony and reception. It would have been nice to have the racing room all to ourselves right after the ceremony to take some great formal portraits of the bridal party and families, but that was impossible since that's where the cocktail hour was held. We decided to take some pictures in the reception room and outside first. By the time we got to the racing room, the sun had set and the flowers were removed to the reception room :(\r\rDespite those complaints, it is still a great venue and it really was a beautiful wedding! I just sometimes wish I could do it over again so that I could prevent some of those disappointments! \r

The weather was raining on and off for the wedding day, and Brooke and the rest of the Darby House team made sure we still had every bit as beautiful of a ceremony indoors as we would have outdoors. Our wedding day was beyond what we could have imagined. My only regret (other than missing out on the h'ors douvres while we were finishing up our photos) is that the day went so quickly! I know it sounds cliche, but I truly mean it. The staff at the Darby House worked so hard to ensure we had a beautiful wedding and that we could focus on all of the fun stuff while they handled the details. We had about 150 guests and the waterside terrace was the perfect size for our ceremony. There was plenty of space, yet it still felt cozy and intimate. I also appreciated having the racing room as a backup in case it rained. Our reception went flawlessly - the wait staff was excellent and quick, the food was delicious, and the night flowed seamlessly. Afterwards, I had MANY guests approach me to say how wonderful everything was. I also noticed that when I told my vendors what venue I was using, they all said something like, \"oh, they're so great to work with\". If you're considering having your wedding here, I would highly reccommend it! :)

We went to Darby House first thinking this was our end all be all venue. We were greeted by the event coordinator who was nice and professional. We had wanted a heavy apps type reception and after all was figured they wanted over 30K for a ceremony and reception with heavy apps. This did not include DJ or any extras. The layout is great for an outdoor wedding, but not an indoor. There is only one full service bar and it is not in the reception space. Once the initial quote was discussed as too high (wanted to stay max 20K), we were offered the Romano chicken as the only dinner option. We felt very slighted and unfortunately, the lack of professionalism was astounding. Lack of returned emails, phone calls, etc. For a venue associated with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, it was appaling. Don't expect service with a smile unless you are looking to spend 50K on your wedding. Some can - many cannot. We went to Brookshire and had an AMAZING wedding and I will never regret leaving Darby House.

Once the initial quote was discussed as too high (wanted to stay max 20K), we were offered the Romano chicken as the only dinner option. We felt very slighted and unfortunately, the lack of professionalism was astounding. Lack of returned emails, phone calls, etc. For a venue associated with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, it was appaling. Don't expect service with a smile unless you are looking to spend 50K on your wedding. Some can - many cannot. We went to Brookshire and had an AMAZING wedding and I will never regret leaving Darby House.

The Darby House was absolutely perfect! The staff is excellent, food was amazing, and they made my wedding day completely effortless for me. They set up all of my decor, coordinated everything with the officiant & DJ to ensure we were on schedule and I just couldn't have asked for better service! Was a little pricey but you get what you pay for. We were so pleased with everything! And did I mention the place is just breathtaking!!

So many of our guests have told us that not only was it one of the best weddings that they have attended, but that it was by far the best wedding food they have ever had. My recommendation is to rent the pontoon boat. Our guests raved about it and it is so different and unique.

Darby House was wonderful and we absolutely loved working with Kate! She helped us through each and every detail. Darby House makes it easy but still lets you choose all the details. For example, they have one company you use for table linens and settings, etc. (Event Source) but they have nearly everything. Plus, you can choose to use their pastry chef for the cake or choose your own cake baker. They also offer other pastries if you want to include other foods/deserts. The food is amazing! We got tons and tons of compliments on the food. The servers are so SO nice. The setting is beyond beautiful and they are very flexible with the indoor/outdoor option. The team pulls everything together and makes the day feel flawless and easy. My only critique is to be aware that the pricing for the minimum required cost, may be exceeded, so don't select a daytime or a weekday wedding strictly because it's a lower minimum - you just might go above it and feel like you could have chosen a different date. The key with the daytime weddings is that they do tend to feel rushed because there will most likely be another wedding that evening. Make sure you bring in your items with organized storage, and have a good team of helpers (bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc.) to wrap things up behind the scenes so you and your parents can enjoy the end of the wedding. Darby House is perfect for any size wedding, 2-200 (could be more, but I don't know the exact limits... you get the idea). The staff there are amazing and make the day special! Other comments - be careful which wines you choose. Some are marked up in price more than others. I highly recommend Darby House, it is the perfect place for any style wedding!

We looked at so many venues in Columbus, trying to find the perfect location for our wedding. We found some very beautiful places, but weren't completely comfortable with the management or staff. We finally made it out to Darby House, and knew as soon as we pulled down the long, tree-lined drive that this was probably the place for us. The setting is breathtaking, and the grounds are immaculately manicured. Once inside, we met with Mike, and we knew we couldn't have our wedding anywhere else. Mike went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was everything we dreamed of. If we had a request, he did everything in his power to meet it. The entire planning process at Darby was so smooth, I felt like we had to be missing something! But when we arrived on the day of our wedding, everything was absolutely perfect. The grounds looked great, all our decorations were perfectly displayed, everything was set up and ready to go. Mike, our planner Emilie, and their teams worked together to make sure the wedding was flawless, and it absolutely was. The food was incredible-we heard guest after guest raving about the food. It was cooked to perfection, and for 180 guests, I can't imagine that is easy. Picking the Darby House for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made in the process. I would highly recommend the Darby House-a stunning location with top-notch management and staff, and incredible food.

I could not have asked for more from my wedding venue. Anything you needed they thought about. They helped put up decorations and flowers when my florist had a health issue. They also brought my car around and packed it up with all the presents. They were amazing- my guests have not stopped talking about the service.

They followed all of my instructions for set up and my items were well packed for my parents to pick up the following week. Their staff made sure my husband and I got everything we needed that night. The Darby House was worth every penny. As the bride, I did not stress over one thing. It was an outside wedding and rained 10 minutes before I was to leave the bridal suite and I was reassured that it would stop in time and it did. I enjoyed my time there greatly!

I have to say, my heart was crushed when it rained on our wedding day. We were unable to have our wedding outside. At first I thought that would ruin any chance of beautiful pictures or a gorgeous wedding. The staff pulled together everything so well! They arranged for outdoor photos where we wouldn't get wet and my dress wouldn't get ruined. The indoor site was beautiful once it was set up. We wanted to do long tables in the dinner area, something they don't do, but they worked with us and made it look stunning. I would definitely recommend them to any bride.

Location was the most important aspect to me and Darby House is just perfect. It's wonderful if you don't want to mess with tons of decorations because the view is really all you need. Mandy at Cameron Mitchell helped my husband and I with everything...she's very laid back and that definately helped keep me calm. She made everything so easy and made everything we wanted happen. On your wedding day they treat you like royalty...we had champagne and beverages in our dressing room :) They really take care of everything...it's pretty much like having your own planner. We still receive endless comments about how gorgeous our wedding was...I couldn't have wished for a more perfect day!
