Deer Valley Lodge Reviews

We are so thankful we chose Deer Valley Lodge. Amber and Sara walked us through everything, kept everything organized and our guests complimented so much on how amazing all the staff was from the hotel staff to the servers and bar tenders. We have no complaints. The weather was questionable up until the last minute. Amber was ready for anything! Having everything in one location was amazing and seamless. Guests loved the option of staying in the hotel. And the price for everything was unbeatable! We are so thankful Deer Valley for making our day the most magical. Reviewed on 16-10-2023

Was at a wedding this past weekend. The venue & staff is beautiful for a wedding. However the food was horrible!! Hot mixed vegetables & lumpy potatoes were cold. Chicken breast has sauce but still dry & pink in middle. Salisbury steak tasted old , & red in middle. Even the rolls were bad hard & nothing in the middle. Worst wedding food we e ever eaten. No one at our table liked the food. Reviewed on 25-09-2023
Maighdlin Farrell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-07-2020 2020, what a year to get married. Deer Valley, more specifically, Amber, was there for us every step of the way and made so many modifications for us. It was stressful for everyone but they accommodated a date change and a guest size change readily for us. The food was great and the service was wonderful. Everyone was appropriately cautious. It was beautiful and a great place to get beautiful wedding photos. I can't recommend it enough. The hotel rooms were very nice as well. Reviewed on 07-08-2020

Cara Levetzow(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-04-2018 The event coordinators, Amber & Lisa, made everything run so easy and smooth! They are not only sweet to work with, but also helpful and easy to get a hold off from start to finish. Food was also great and service throughout the reception was fast and respectful. Megan O'Connell(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-10-2015 Deer Valley Lodge was the perfect venue for us! The coordinators were very accomodating leading up to the day and on the big day. If you are looking for a great place to have a wedding in the Madison area on a small budget, we would recommend DVL. A huge perk that they take care of the food, have a full service bar and a attached hotel. Low stress for us! Reviewed on 22-10-2015
Jessica Bartsch(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-10-2014 We did our ceremony and reception here-- we wanted an outdoor wedding with accessibility to everyone (elderly, handicapped, etc...) and for people to not drive. The golf course and waterpark are a nice perk-- and they gave a complimentary whirlpool suite for the night of! We did it on a tight budget, and this was the place to do it. Very reasonable.\r\rWe did have a couple mix ups (thus the 4 for service), but nothing I would say ruined my wedding... overall-- I would highly recommend. Amber and her crew did a great job. Kelsey Ostby(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-08-2014 Deer Valley was the perfect location for us, and Amber and Angela (wedding coordinators) were very helpful. They were open to what I wanted to do. We got SO many compliments on the food--it was so, so good. The bartenders, on the other hand, were horrible. Rude (even to me, the bride) slow and acted like they didn't want to be there. Deer Valley would be doing themselves a favor if they hired new bartenders. Also--if you are booking your wedding here, forgo the cake cutting service. Total rip-off and they don't even cut your cake correctly. You would be better off having a family member or friend cut it and store the extra. Overall, we were very happy with our wedding day, but disappointed that all of our pre-planning with DV ended on a sour note. Reviewed on 29-08-2014
chris slater(parent)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-06-2013 If you go with this place make sure you get a menu sampling to choose your meals. We were never offered this option and just to be safe we went with one beef and one chicken dish. The \"roast beef\" looked and tasted like something I would feed my dog out of a can. The chicken looked pink and many guest didn't want to risk eating it so the food was a total waste of money. The staff never picked up a single dirty dish till after desert was eaten so the table got very crowded with all the dirty dishes. It was embarrassing. We only had 150 guests and the room was comfortably full. If you tried to squeeze 300-400 people in there you wouldn't be able to move. The view was beautiful for photos and the adjoining pub was a nice feature but that's the only good things I can say. Reviewed on 08-10-2013

Jennifer Henkels(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-05-2011 I decided to have my wedding ceremony and reception at Deer Valley Lodge, and from the very beginning I knew that I had made the right choice. Amber made everything very easy for us to plan, and she was very helpful along the way. On the day of our wedding, everything went perfectly and everyone at Deer Valley was very professional and accommodating. I would defiantly recommend this venue for anyone in the Madison or surrounding area. It was fantastic!!! Reviewed on 16-05-2011
Mikaela Sherven(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-09-2010 We used this vender as our reception hall. A little pricy for the area that it is in but the simple white ambiance is well worth it. I was able to turn this simple facility into a candlelight romantic tone. Reviewed on 14-10-2010
Amy Buchman(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-08-2010 Deer Valley was a nice place...everything was all in one spot which was nice because we had so many people traveling. However, they were not organized. I wish the coordinator would have been better at telling us what was next...they know the flow of the events in a wedding better and had all the times down that we discussed and I think I saw her once. Other than that, the food was good and everyone had a good time. Reviewed on 04-10-2010
Angela Campbell(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-12-2007 Beautiful ballroom with attached pub area. Great hotel with fun indoor waterpark. Hotel catering allows for hors d'vours menu which allowed our evening wedding to skip a full meal. Can bring in own cake from licensed baker.;Hotel doesn't give a price break for wedding guests. Continental breakfast morning after ran out of food. Pub doesn't stock any extra kegs/cases of wine so if your guests drink more than expected everything goes to bottles. Reviewed on 21-10-2008
