Alyssa C(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-12-2019 The venue was gorgeous. Staff was very easy to work with and accommodating. The venue does have some strict rules ie music must be done by 11 pm, no sparklers etc but none of those restrictions were a big deal to us. Highly recommend Reviewed on 14-04-2020
Daniel Jimenez(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-01-2020 Deering Estate was an absolute dream for a winter wedding in South Florida. We chose Deering because of the setting on Biscayne Bay, the flexibility to use the vendors we chose, the ease of inviting additional friends and family to the wedding, and being able to support a local museum. The events team is very organized, rules for the venue are clearly laid out and it was easy for our vendors to work with the location. On the day of the wedding, we had manatees in the bay and flocks of egrets flying overhead to roost during our vows. Spectacular and stunning location. Reviewed on 01-02-2020
Charlotte Patterson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2017 The team at the Deering Estate is super accommodating, responsive (note during peak booking seasons, it may take a few days for them to respond, but they are prompt in getting back to you without much delay), and helpful! I knew that I wanted to get married at this venue as it's very close to home, and an truly unparalleled historic home. Get the vibes of Vizcaya at a much more affordable rate and in an intimate setting. Our guests loved being able to explore the home and grounds, enjoying a cocktail hour overlooking the bay plus dinner under the tree canopy of the open courtyard. It's a truly magical and hidden gem, and a perfect wedding venue for anyone looking for a historic location that can accommodate large and small parties. It's also a flexible site that can easily adapt to party themes from art deco and vintage to modern glam, rustic, or beachy. Reviewed on 24-05-2018

Luciana C(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-02-2018 We fell immediately in love and knew this is where we wanted to get married as soon as we walked into the Deering. The fact we would no longer be allowed to use the house or the planned construction did not deter us from moving forward with our selection and we couldn`t be happier!!Jenna was amazing the entire time and Miyuki a pleasure to work with, while Jenna was on a leave. They are known to be very strict with their policies but at the same time so flexible and cooperative that we really didn`t have any problems and are super happy with our choice.Guests were astonished with how beautiful the place looks – we just got married in February 2018 and not even the hurricane we had in September could take away the beauty of the place. Only negative point to be highlighted from our side is the bathroom situation. We knew we would have to upgrade the guests experience by hiring a bathroom attendant and improving the general look of the bathroom, after all it`s a park bathroom, but we didn`t plan for additional light in the path from the courtyard and that could have caused an issue (none of our guests fell or had problems but consider this when planning your event there!).Thank you so much Jenna, Miyuki & team. You & the Deering were the basis for our dream wedding! Reviewed on 22-02-2018
LeeAnne Skipp(wedding party)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-05-2018 On February 18, 2017, my daughter had her wedding at The Deering Estate. Guests arrived at 5 pm. They were married down by the water and it was spectacular. The pre-reception cocktail party was held on the lawn just outside of the screened porch and it was charming. The dinner reception was in the courtyard and the setting could not have been more perfect. The dancing was in the ballroom, which was naturally beautiful, but it was very hot after only a few minutes. This price for the venue is a little high as it only includes the use of the Estate and nothing else. They also charge fees associated with Parks & Recreation and you are required to hire their security personnel depending upon the size of your event. We had to hire an outside catering company, bakery, and lighting company, in addition to the guitar ensemble for the procession, the DJ, and other fun surprises, which added a little stress to the planning, but we knew that from the beginning. It was a little difficult getting in touch and staying in touch with the staff, but everything worked out in the end. The staff and security were very pleasant, professional, and helpful. All-in-all it was a wonderfully memorable experience. Alexa Martillo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-11-2014 The Deering Estate is a beautiful, historical preserve that offered our guests 3 unique areas to enjoy, in addition to the lush pathway under a canopy of trees they entered through.\r\rOur ceremony was held on the lawn while guest overlooked the bay. Our dinner was served in the courtyard which had a Tuscany vibe to it. And the reception was held inside the stone house where our family and friends danced on the stunning black and white tile under 2 gorgeous chandeliers and hand-carved ceiling details.\r\rThe venue has strict rules and guidelines which we were able to follow without any stress since we used vendors that were familiar with their guidelines. Yvonne morales(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-10-2014 The venue was beautiful on the entire grounds. The grass is something to be aware of for both the entire bridal pArty and the wedding guests. It is de grass and can ruin heels.\r\rOther than that the view of the bay is spectacular. Dinner at the front of the house was beautiful. I recommend having several up lights like we did. Reviewed on 15-11-2014
Cecilia Huerta(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-06-2014 Since this was the location my husband had proposed to me, we were incredibly happy that we were able to also use Deering Estate for our June wedding! We had the ceremony outside by the water which was *breathtaking* and our photos from all over the estate came out *incredible.* Two cautions: \r\r1. Read the contract very carefully before signing as the venue has a restrictions. They not bad, but just be aware and use a wedding planner who has worked there before to help guide you. For instance, you cannot have candles in the house, but you can use LED ones. \r\r2. If you have a summer wedding (which is cheaper as that is off-season for Miami), provide your guests with fans (make out of programs), ice water when they arrive, and flip flops in case the grass is soggy. \r\rHIGHLY recommend this magical, breathe-taking venue!!! Brooke Gaebe(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-09-2011 My wedding at Deering was incredible. I first went to Deering when I was 12 or 13 with my father, an attorney, for a bar association event. I remember how beautiful it was in this rustic, majestic, old Florida sort of way. I decided then and there that Deering was where I wanted to get married. My own wedding day was far more beautiful than that evening and far more magical than anything I had imagined.\r\rWhile many brides I talk to have always had Viscaya on their minds as a number one choice, I think the Deering's smaller size and history made the affair a bit more intimate. Also, because it is rustic and natural beauty, rather than brilliant chandelier sparkle beauty, our decor really looked spectacular and was not overshadowed by the venue. \r\rThe staff at Deering was incredibly accommodating in terms of flexing their normal rules to suit my vision of the wedding. \r\rI have talked to some brides that were concerned with the shabby bathrooms (it is a public park owned and operated by Miami Dade County), but we handled that by ensuring they were clean, that each bathroom was appropriately decorated with our flowers and offered a nice collection of soaps, lotions, hairspray, etc. so that it had a nicer feel for guests. \r\rWe had the ceremony outside facing the water despite warnings that it had rained earlier in the day and the grass may be flooded. I decided to risk the possibility of additional rain and have the ceremony on the grass but set back a little farther than where we had planned (the grass was still a little wet). We were in luck, it did not rain and the ceremony was beautiful. It was at 5:45 in September and a little warm so we gave all the guests fans and lemonade basil drinks. The pictures show amazing yellow light falling down behind my father and I as we walked down the aisle. \r\rI highly recommend this venue to anyone considering it. Another nice thing with selecting this venue is the fact that the funds spent go back to Miami Dade Public Parks. Reviewed on 19-12-2011
