Anna Estes(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-11-2019 Denise and her team at Deerwood Country Club made our entire wedding process an absolute dream. From start to finish, Denise was calm, cool, and collected, and really made us feel confident about everything. Wedding planning is not easy, but with the help we got from Deerwood, it was so enjoyable. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! The space is beautiful, big enough to comfortably accommodate our 150 guests, and all of our guests still compliment us today, saying that the staff were so accommodating and courteous, and they had such a wonderful time. I recommend Deerwood Country Club to any couple! Reviewed on 27-08-2020
Libby Stewart(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-03-2020 My husband and I got married at Deerwood Country Club on March 14th 2020. Our wedding ceremony took place outside on the golf course with stunning views of the lake. We had a small wedding (about 65 guests) but the dining room can hold 200+ people with plenty of room. The dining room has beautiful views of the golf course and a built in bar.We couldn’t ask for a more perfect wedding day. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Denise Brilli, the banquet coordinator at Deerwood, was excellent and a delight to work with. She made the whole wedding planning process so easy and stressfree. She was quick to respond to emails and so attentive to detail. All the food at Deerwood was delicious and served promptly. I loved that the groom and I had a few minutes alone to enjoy some time together and eat the yummy appetizers before being introduced to the reception. I was so happy that we had time to enjoy our dinner before making our rounds to our guests.JoAnne, Deerwood’s own pastry chef baked an incredible red velvet cake and a delicious apple pie for our Pi Day wedding. Our wedding cake was gorgeous and exactly what we dreamed of. Many guests told me how much they enjoyed all of the food and cake at the wedding. All of the Deerwood staff was excellent and made our wedding day so enjoyable. I highly recommend Deerwood to any bride! Reviewed on 16-08-2020
Sibby Voetsch(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-08-2019 We had our wedding and reception August 24, 2019 at Deerwood and it was absolutely perfect. From visiting the site in the very beginning to the end of the reception, it was flawless. Denise, the venue coordinator, is very sweet and so helpful. She makes you feel at ease and you can tell this is something she enjoys and is very good at. She is responsive, insightful and helpful. Her staff is professional, and they did an excellent job with setting up, executing my vision, and breaking down. They set everything up exactly how I envisioned it, as if I had done it myself. They were the perfect amount of there-when-you-need-them, but also gave us space and time to enjoy time with our family and party during getting ready and the actual event. Through and through, Denise and her team are great. We got many compliments on the food, from hors d'oeuvres to salads, to drinks to entrees, and of course to the cake. The chef is great at pairing food together and flavors. And Joanna, the pastry chef, made a beautiful and delicious cake that came out exactly what we had talked about. And the food and cake it so fresh because it is all made right there on site. The venue itself is gorgeous. The entrance is impressive, the ballroom can be sized to accommodate your party size so you aren't cramped or too spread out, the bar is built-in and rich, and the veranda and ceremony site is positioned to look out over the huge lake and beautiful grounds. The men and women dressing rooms were perfect to have space to spread out, get ready, have access to multiple bathrooms and sinks, and even have lunch catered in by the Club.I don't have a single bad thing to say about Deerwood. They were perfect and I would recommend them over and over. We are still getting flooded with compliments from A to Z! Reviewed on 14-08-2020
Anne Marie Woods(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-03-2020 Our experience was horrible. It all started with a quote from the catering director Denise that had the bottom of the quote cut off. After we gave our deposit we find out that the bottom line was going up because as she said \"I didn't add the bottom numbers together\" although the numbers at the bottom of the quote were CUT OFF. Magically the bottom of the bill appeared when she asked us to pay for half of the wedding. After asking her about the bill being cut off she became extremely rude and would not answer my calls or emails. There is more....my wedding was suppose to take place on 03/21/2020. Unfortunately, 5 days before the wedding they banned all gathering of over 50 people at bars and restaurants because of COVID-19. For three days 4 of us in the wedding party start asking her if the wedding will be cancelled because of the ban...we had 65 guests and many of them were coming from out of town. We needed to know asap to start cancelling vendors, hotels and flights. Denise says the wedding is still on all the way until 2 days before the wedding when she says there was a miscommunication with the GM of Deerwood and I would either have to have my wedding outside in 90 degree weather and cut my list to 50 or move the wedding date to July. TWO DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING!! We convinced the GM to give us our money back. I can promise you that she will act all friendly and helpful when you go check this place out and will be useless after. Kimberly Combs(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-11-2011 We decided to have our wedding here because of the wide open reception hall. It was the only one that would fit all of our guests in one room besides a hotel. It is a gorgeous venue and provides beautiful pictures, but the lady you have to work with, Carmella, is not helpful or easy to work with. She responds to your emails with one word answers and its like pulling teeth to get her to explain something. If you work with her, be as specific as possible with your questions and make her explain all details to you. I suggest getting everything in writing and keep all of your communications, don't get rid of anything until after everything is over. We were never thanked for booking with the venue and we honestly just felt like we were one more client and it didn't matter to her if we were having our wedding there or not. We actually considered walking away from our deposit because of her, had we been able to change our wedding date we would have. The rest of the staff on the actual day of the wedding was amazing though! Sadly, it was just a disappointing experience to plan our wedding here. It should be such an exciting time for the bride and groom, you shouldn't be made to feel like just another number or dollar sign to her. Reviewed on 29-11-2011
Holly Scott(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-10-2011 Deerwood has a very elegant feel to it. It’s very spacious and well laid out. The grand room is beautiful with the entire back wall of windows facing the golf course and pond. There is a beautiful, very large, covered, stone patio out the back of the club with doors that lead in and out of the grand room as well. It really sets a moon for elegance and sophistication. It’s well lit and well staffed. There are very beautiful large fire places with large mantles that are great for the look and feel of a classy event. After an extremely thorough search through multiple venues, we found this venue was the most reasonable in pricing as well as one of the nicer venues we toured. They offer basic packages, but they also offer an a la carte option (which we chose because it saved us thousands of dollars). This club has a great coordinator, however, they are very black and white on their policies so you may have to adjust certain expectations depending on what the club will allow you to do in and with the club. As long as you are a strong and organized bride and groom, you will have no problems getting what you want. If you are looking for a venue that provides all your needs, Deerwood also provides ceremonies. They have a beautiful lawn on the greens in the back of the club over looking the golf course and pond. Inside ceremonies are also accommodated. Reviewed on 06-11-2011
Lisa Bradley(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-09-2011 Deerwood did my catering as well as my cake. I wasn't able to do a tasting of the food or cake. It took me more than 2 weeks to get in touch or get the pastry chef to return my phone calls. Which of course was frustrating. Deerwood wasn't flexible at all, the venue is very pretty and they had a package deal for the food that made it worth my while. The food was good and I ended up being happy with my cake. But my experience before the wedding with everyone wasn't great. The day of though everything turned out and I had a perfect evening. Reviewed on 30-10-2011
Jodi Weil(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-03-2008 Overall the venue was very nice. The only real disappointment that I can recall is that a votive candle burned out and I let the coordinator know and somehow when she went to move it, wax spilled everywhere and she just left it there. Minor in the grand scheme of things. Reviewed on 04-10-2011
