We got married at the Delamar on August 12, 2023 and it was unbelieveable! If you're considering booking it, just do it- you will not be disappointed. We got married on the ceremony lawn, dinner on the terrace, and then dancing/bar/etc... was in the Dayclub and it could not have been more perfect! We had a gorgeous day and it was the perfect mix of enjoying the bay but having a bit of indoor space. The day of translated even better than we pictured in any of our walk throughs. I had initial thoughts that the public terrace and beach might interrupt our ceremony/dinner but it did not at all! They did a perfect job of keeping everything private and separate- I didn't think twice about it day of.The staff was a 12/10. Susan, Stephanie and Erikah were so easy and attentive to work with for the months leading up to the day. They were so communicative, so helpful and offered great ideas. The day of staff continued to be just as wonderful. They were all so accomodating, so fun and positive. My friend recently had a baby and one of the staff even helped her to put on her shoes just to be kind- definitely an extra mile that you don't see anywhere. They all helped to make the day great. As for the food, it was amazing!!!! We got sooo many compliments from guests saying that not only was it the best wedding food that they had ever had, but an awesome meal in general. One of my friends was asking if Artisan served what we offered so she could go back and get it again. They were also so accomodating to those with food intolerances and allergies. Truly, I could go on and on with how great the Delamar was. It was so convenient to have everything in one area and then also have the option for guests to stay at the hotel. (Which, the hotel rooms were lovely.) Of course, the downtown location makes for an easy walk into town for everyone to enjoy their weekend leading up to the day, too. Side note: We booked the Nauti-Cat on Friday night as our rehearsal which docks at the Delamar- highly recommend that too! :)All in all, just book the Delamar! It is the best and maybe most underated venue in all of TC. The best part of TC is the lake and no venue gets you closer. Thank you again to the Delamar for the perfect day!! Reviewed on 23-08-2023

Our cocktail hour and reception at Delamar Traverse City was AMAZING. We had our cocktail hour on the Lakeshore Terrace and DayClub, the spaces are gorgeous and newly remodeled. Our hors d'oeuvres and bar service were top tier, guests never had to wait to get food or drinks. I cannot say enough good things about the service, we were SO impressed. Our reception in the Leelanau Ballroom was also fantastic. We were blown away by how intimate the room was, it was just what we wanted. The food, drinks, and service the entire night were absolutely incredible. Our guests had an amazing time and we got so many compliments! Delamar TC went above and beyond to make sure our guests were taken care of the entire weekend. We cannot say enough great things about Susan, Stephanie, Erikah, and the entire staff. From the start of the planning process to the actual day, Susan, Stephanie, and Erikah were incredibly professional and kind. They answered every question and were very helpful. We loved our experience at Delamar, and would recommend it to everyone. Book Delamar TC for your wedding, you will not regret it! Reviewed on 25-10-2023

If you’re thinking about having you’re wedding here, look no further! I had the wedding of my dreams here. It started with Susan in sales who responded promptly and took all my phone calls when I was first interested in booking this venue and followed with Stephanie towards the end on the catering/sales end who helped me through every step of the way. This venue is the MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE ever and the staff is so flexible. I wanted to have dinner outside, but due to wind we had to move inside, but my friends and family were still able to gather outside later. The staff are the friendliest people you’ll meet. The hotel is insanely beautiful and my pictures look amazing. The day club area made the perfect dance floor that looked out onto the bay and they just remodeled so everything is beautiful. At the end of the night, I gathered everyone by the outdoor heated pool to jump in, and the pictures look spectacular. With all my girlfriends, we got fun hotel room pictures and just overall had an amazing time. I can’t wait to vacation here for many many years to come with my now husband. The staff treated us like family and we feel like we’re apart of the Delamar family, they made our special day oh so special. (Usually you don’t here brides that truly get to enjoy their big day-but this was the best day of my life thus far hands down) Reviewed on 28-08-2023

Wow! What an incredible weekend. Susan Scoby was top notch. Planning was such a breeze with great communication from Susan and Stephanie Meath. I asked a lot of questions and asked for advice and they were so helpful. I ended up using Delamar for rehearsal reception and my wedding ceremony, dinner, and reception. The service was excellent! We felt truly attended to by the servers and bartenders. Everyone was so kind- Carolyn - Banquet Captain, Vai - Bartender/Server, Abduel - Bartender, Sandra, Victoria, Scott, Paige - Servers The set up crew and tear down group did a fantastic job. The food was perfect- I just wish I had more room for the extra dessert. :) We are so grateful we chose the Delamar for our weekend and would do it over in a heart beat! Reviewed on 08-06-2023
Catherine Messenger(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-07-2022 Our wedding on July 9th, 2022 at The Delamar, Traverse City, made our wedding dreams come true. We had always envisioned our wedding outside, natural with no tent. The bayside terrace at the Delamar was set with pretty farmhouse tables, the gorgeous view of the West Bay, and loads of sunshine & gentle breeze in the background. The day was is exactly what we wanted! We planned our wedding in just 4 months with Susan, the Catering Sales Manager at The Delamar. Susan was so easy to work with. Everything came together flawlessly. We hosted our welcome party on Friday night in the Day-club, a newly renovated room with an unobstructed view of the West Bay which in adjacent to the patio terrace. We served a variety of sliders and flatbreads. The food was fantastic. Our welcome party was casual and fun. We rented a Bayview suite and used that on our wedding day for the bridal party to get ready in (with my brides babes). The room was set up perfect for that occasion. Everyone had their own space and the suite provided plenty of room and natural light. There were an abundance of outlets and mirrors for everyone. Plus, the suite is beautiful and made for some really nice photos. The bonus was we got to view our entire wedding set-up getting prepared as our suite was directly above the bayside terrace & lawn where we were holding both our ceremony & reception. Our wedding was during The Cherry Festival so we decided not to leave the property to do site photography, as Traverse City is quite crowded during that time. The Delamar has so many great locations to take photos. Despite it being Cherry Festival, the hotel did not feel crowded and The Delamar did a great job separating our wedding space from guest space. We had our ceremony on the lawn. It was a perfect location to get married. Our cocktail hour directly followed the ceremony. We love how it was just steps away for our guests. The butler passed hors d’oeuvres were the best we’ve ever had. We served our guests the filet and halibut for dinner. It was the best wedding food we have personally ever had. So many of our guests commented to us and told us the very same thing. The bartenders were so fun and made amazing drinks! The Delamar went above and beyond for us. Then our guests just walked up to their newly renovated rooms. We highly recommend The Delamar, Traverse City!!! Reviewed on 11-08-2022
Sunny Nayberg(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-07-2022 Dream WeddingMy husband and I got married here on July 22, 2022. Let me start by saying that Delamar Traverse City was the best decision we could have made for our wedding weekend. Our families came from different states to spend the weekend together for our micro wedding. Leading up to the wedding, I kept in very close touch with Delamar and they were always so accommodating, flexible and supportive. On our wedding day, the team worked SO hard to ensure everything we wanted went as planned. Beacuse we did not have a wedding planner and I was my own wedding planner for the micro wedding, they really were there for us and supported us during the day when needed. They were so accommodating with shuttles and valet. We got married in the Day Club room with the view of the lake and our own patio. The food was like at a 5 Michelin star restaurant. The staff were so kind and dedicated. Cocktail hour on the patio was magical and the appetizers were to die for!!! I still think about the cucumber/salmon bites!!!! I can not describe how amazing it was and we already started planning our one year anniversary staying in this hotel and reliving these memories. Reviewed on 06-08-2022

We visited 3 other venues and this resort was not only the best value, but Liz Caluory, the wedding event coordinator was absolutely amazing. She was helpful, sweet and made things happen. Amanda Jackson(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2016 We had our rehearsal here, and the actual rehearsal and staff assigned were fantastic. We had a phenomenal time at the rehearsal dinner because of them. If I was rating them alone, they were 5 stars. The planning however was unpleasant. There was turnover twice during the planning process ( we were engaged for 11 months). Communication was hit and miss with the original planner that we had, the lady who took over 3 weeks before the rehearsal definitely had it together more so than the primary person we dealt with. I found out our planner had left after not hearing back from an email I sent, I sent a follow up and got declined sender (I would have expected her email be forwarded to someone and for someone to reach out given how close we were to the wedding). When I called to find a new rep the lady on the phone was very rude and condescending. I expected to want to not want to recommend this vendor based on the confidence I lacked in the planning process, but the staff the night of was really fantastic, all in all, I see it as a wash. Courtney Loughman(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-07-2013 I had my ceremony outside on the beach, and my wedding inside in Shimmers night club. I signed my contract the day that the hotel got sold to a new company, so things were a bit hectic throughout planning with employees coming and going, changes being made, prices changing, etc. I am rating the venue a 4 out of 5 based on my contract and pricing BEFORE the renovations, and I know things have changed. Planning the wedding was a bit hectic because the wedding coordinators kept coming and going throughout my 10 months of planning, and I live about 5 hours away, so I was constantly leaving voice mails and sending emails with weeks before a response. The contract I got was really vague so I had to send it back more than once to get basic things added to it. The menu and prices also changed a lot from when I made my contract to the wedding, but luckily I put everything in my contract so I got the 'before renovation' pricing that I signed up for. The outside venue was beautiful, we got married on the sand and had the white chairs and an arbor out on the beach. Our DJ supplied the sound, but they have sound you can rent from the venue as well so that the guests can hear you. The reception took place in Shimmers Night Club (which from what I understand unless you plan on paying a LOT of money to rent it out, they are no longer holding receptions in there due to the fact they have made it into a restaurant that serves lunch and dinner... something that I booked BEFORE the changes). The reception was beautiful, and the food was great! They have centerpieces you can use of theirs (glass containers, sand, sea shells, and tea lights) at no expense to you... I personally used the containers and added my own stuff to them. One of the LARGEST downfalls that I noticed is that they do not have an alcohol package, drinks are priced by per drink. So for every mixed drink (of their house alcohol) that was made, I paid $5.00. I think beer was $4 and wine was $5 or $6? Luckily a lot of people didn't drink, but the tab could have gotten out of control! Overall, it was an amazingly beautiful ceremony and reception for what I paid, but that was the before renovation prices.\r\rPros:\r- Beautiful location\r- Attached to a hotel\r- Free centerpieces\r- Newly renovated\r- Great food\r\rCons:\r- Very expensive since remodel (rooms for guests, food, drinks, booking costs, etc.)\r- Bad service (people constantly getting fired, hired, leaving, etc.)\r- No alcohol package\r- Shimmers no longer available for a wedding reception\r- No bridal suite to get ready (we got lucky and one of the conference rooms wasn't booked for that morning, but if we didn't want to risk it being booked, we would have had to pay to book it in advance) Reviewed on 20-08-2013
