Kathy Johnson(other)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-11-2021 We had a large (200 guests) destination wedding over Thanksgiving 2021 weekend at Destination Kohler- The American Club. Our guests stayed at the American Club and Inn at Woods Lake. We had the ceremony and reception at the American Club. We utilized all of the services that the American Club offers for weddings, from Kohler chocolates for welcome gifts to the spa for day of hair and makeup, floral, cake, childrens room, band set up, and more. The results were outstanding. The wedding planner Karen, and floral coordinator Diane worked patiently and professionally with us every step of the way (from long distance) to make the wedding unforgettable. The grand ballroom reception, cocktail area, and the ceremony room were beautiful. The food was outstanding. The accommodations and service for our guests all weekend was perfect. Finally, the wedding pictures in the American Club setting were great. Hosting a wedding is a labor of love and even more complicated during a pandemic, and we were so glad to have the pros at the American Club guide us through and facilitate every detail. I would highly recommend Destination Kohler for your wedding! Reviewed on 09-01-2022
Meaghan Smeraglia(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-09-2018 Our wedding at Whistling Straits was perfect. The location, service, food, hospitality, you name it they get 11/10 stars. Our guest are still raving about their Kohler experience. And it truly is an experience. Everyone at Kohler seemed genuinely happy for us - we never felt like just another couple like other vendors made us feel when we were searching for a vendor. Once we sealed the deal Courtney was our wedding coordinator and she was wonderful. She promptly communicated, answered all our endless questions and navigated the entire day with grace. She was reassuring when we had to have a backup plan due to weather conditions. And even then the Irish barn turned out more romantic and intimate then we imagined. We scoured the Midwest for the perfect venue and found just that in Whistling Straits. The wedding planning process was made simpler by having so many of the services offered through the vendor (linens, photography, catering etc.) They were at the top of our price point but created a custom package based on our vision and it was executed flawlessly. They’re worth the investment 110%. You won't be disappointed. We will cherish the memories forever and look forward to spending many future anniversaries at Destination Kohler. Reviewed on 27-10-2018
Mira A(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-06-2018 We are based in Chicago, and decided to have a destination wedding at Whistling Straits. It was hands down the best decision we made. First and foremost, our wedding coordinator, Courtney, was exceptional. She is an expert on the venue and what works / doesn't work, and we relied on her feedback often! Across the board, Kohler has the best customer service, and we constantly felt supported and in good hands. Secondly, the food and drinks! We had so many rave reviews that ours was the best wedding food our guests had ever had. Thirdly, the flowers! We used Kohler's florist and worked with Abbey. Give her your vision and trust her! She knows what she's doing and it all turned out beautifully. Finally, the venue! If you're interested in an outdoor wedding, Whistling Straits cannot be beat. It's stunning. In summary, every moment of our wedding and wedding planning was enjoyable and seamless thanks to Kohler. We are so glad we went them! Reviewed on 02-09-2018
Tatiana McArthur-Constable(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-03-2016 Effortless attention to detail made our Kohler wedding truly magical. Ryan, Amelia and their colleagues all went above and beyond to welcome and assist us from the moment we began planning, to walking down the aisle, to celebrating our first New Year together nine months later. Our wedding was an intimate family affair with 20 guests, at least half of which were discerning foodies. Kohler admirably rose to the challenge with a champagne reception in their English greenhouse followed by an amazing 3 course meal with wine in their Founder's Room. They helped us stay within our small budget yet treated us like royalty; even while managing a fussy vegetarian and an unusual food allergy.Coordination between all areas made our day stress free; floral arrangements, bridal party spa treatments and even groomsmen morning excursions all flowed smoothly and were thoroughly enjoyable. Kohler has a wide range of activities to suit all, even in the depths of a Wisconsin March. While very early communications may feel slow to the couple, immediate responses weren't necessary and as time progressed their dedication to making it your relaxing and perfect wedding is unsurpassable. We highly recommend Kohler for any wedding. Jill Hackman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-07-2016 We had a great experience with Destination Kohler. The staff was great from the moment of inquiry through the last minute of the wedding! They made the process very smooth and as stress free as possible. Katie and her team made sure that as the bride, I could focus on my groom and guests and not on all of the details. Everything was exactly as we'd selected and top rate. We could not have asked for a better team, venue or process! Reviewed on 09-01-2017
Stacey Sublette(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2016 The American Club is a beautiful place and a step back in time. Our wedding was just perfect, from the beautiful grounds and buildings, delicious food and attentive staff, they do not let you down. Don't forget the spa while you visit. We are from Chicago and wanted a 'destination' without flying or a very long drive. My husband and I stayed at the American Club several times before and thought it a great fit for those reasons. It was a magical day with memories to last a lifetime. Our coordinator Nicole was so attentive and helpful the months prior, though I knew she was busy she always got back to me pretty quickly. Megan Harris(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2015 While the American Club is defiantly a bit more expensive than other options. It is worth it. Since arrival everything was taken care of. We received many comments from guests saying that the service was far beyond what they have experienced elsewhere. Everything was where it was supposed to be, on time and with no issues. Their decor of chandeliers, rich woods, and plush upholstery is inviting and cozy. They have numerous outdoor courtyards and plenty of indoor space for any size wedding. Their food is delicious and the menu to choose form is very expansive. The pastry chefs on-site did an outstanding job making the Wedding cake. It looked exactly like the picture I sent. It tasted just as good! The staff really help make the day go perfectly. They are true professionals and will do everything they can to make sure you and your guests are well taken care of. Andrea Huibregtse(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-09-2010 The American Club is a very beautiful high end venue, which is why we chose it. Before the actual wedding day, we were bounced around to at least 5 different contact people, not always getting returns on emails or calls. We had to be aggressive on more that one occasion. We only had our ceremony here, not our reception. We 'rented' the gazebo courtyard, with an indoor option for inclement weather, which unfortunately we had to use. The gazebo courtyard is beautifully landscaped with a great outdoor ambiance. The alternative meeting room we had was beautiful as well. The men and women were given dressing rooms. Only being able to speak for the women, I can say they were good. There was a full length mirror, a steamer, a dressing screen, a make-shift vanity and a large common table. You can order snacks and drinks at a per person rate. There were not enough outlets or mirrors for all the girls to get ready at the same time. Overall, with a price of $2000, more than $650 per hour, I think we paid enough. However, we were left questioning if we had spent more money, possibly had our reception there as well, would we have been treated better? The physical establishment did not disappoint, however, a lot of the service, did. The contact people we had the day of the wedding were the best we had, very helpful and attentive. The pastry chef and florist were truly the highlight of the staff. The cake was like no other, beautiful and unbelievably delicious. The flowers were everything we wanted. If you have your wedding at the American Club, there is a charge to bring in your own florist, so you are better off using theirs. (Price of flowers are additional to $2000 rental) Floral price and quality are well worth it. The cake and flowers are two things that make me change a 3 star overall rating to a 4 star overall rating. Reviewed on 29-10-2010
