The Doubletree Hotel & their staff was fantastic!!! We mainly booked this venue because we didn't want to worry about finding caterers or having to provide our own decorations, so when we found out that everything was included in the cost, we booked right away! The staff was so friendly & everyone was so helpful on our big day! We had a wedding liason who kept us on schedule & made sure that everything was running smoothly! Our bartender was fantastic & remembered everyone's drinks! And the food was delicious!!! I would recommend this venue for anyone!!!

The Doubletree Hotel & their staff was fantastic!!! The Doubletree staff (Valarie Gulde in particular) were absolutely incredible. Everyone was extremely helpful and so sweet during our planning process. We had a decently big wedding (about 200 people) and I was so stressed out wanting everything to be perfect. I was in contact with Valarie for about 1.5 years before the wedding and she was ALWAYS available to help me. No matter how small my question she was timely, professional, and I genuinely enjoyed chatting with her! She always made me feel welcome and heard. She even made sure she was there the day of the wedding to give me some piece of mind. Our day truly went off without a single hitch, the doubletree staff took care of everything and anything. I cannot recommend the Doubletree enough!

The food was amazing, everyone loved it. The staff during the reception was so incredibly kind and our bartender rocked! Valarie was so graceful, timely, and kind with each response. On the day of the event, the event staff from setup through the event were amazing! We received a lot of compliments about the food as well. We even received chocolate covered strawberries and a thank you note in our hotel room from everyone! The DoubleTree in Bay City was amazing! Their ENTIRE staff was absolutely amazing and made our day better than we ever could have imagined. They were incredibly flexible, helpful, and a DREAM to work with. The space was decorated beautifully, the staff was friendly, and the food was DELICIOUS! We felt supported by everyone at the hotel, but not overwhelmed with questions - something I expected to happen with so many moving parts to our day. I would recommend for anyone to consider having their wedding here.

I had my wedding ceremony and reception on August 30th. From the start of planning Tricia was always super helpful and responsive with any questions we had! To be honest, my husband and I were skeptical about the prices and paying for a reception (we had already been married in Jamaica). However, from the first time we met with Tricia to when our reception ended everything was top notch! We wanted to be a bit different and roll out heavy appetizers every hour and order “late night snacks” as dinner, and the DoubleTree made that happen (even though it wasn’t exactly an option on the menus). The wait staff and bartender were incredibly attentive and remembered what my guests were drinking. My groom and I had a personal note and boxes lunches waiting in our room from Deanna and Tricia when we arrived. The servers also boxed up leftovers for us because we didn’t have time to sample all of the food! I didn’t have to lift a finger - we dropped off our decorations and the room was set up and cleaned up perfectly. We have gotten so many compliments from our guests about the food, the drinks, and the service. We couldn’t be happier! The DoubleTree was 100% worth every penny!

The DoubleTree in Bay City was everything we could of ever imagined! The outdoor venue is to die for in the summer with beautiful seating and flowers right near the water! The food was PHENOMENAL!! Tricia was so pleasant to work with! So quick at responding to emails, and so helpful! She went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect for us!! All of the staff were so kind and helpful! I wish we could relive this day over and over, it was the best day of our lives! 10/10 recommend!!!

Tricia was so pleasant to work with! So quick at responding to emails, and so helpful! She went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect for us!! All of the staff were so kind and helpful! I wish we could relive this day over and over, it was the best day of our lives! 10/10 recommend!!!

It is a beautiful venue! When the night came to an end my husband and I went into our room, and we found two boxes full of a sandwich and chips and a sweet congratulations card. Their hospitality will never be forgotten!

The Doubletree Hotel was an AWESOME place to have our wedding. The staff was on point. If we needed anything they were on it. The hotel staff made everyone feel comfortable checking into their rooms. Our room was decorated very beautifully. It was great food and service. They did a great job making our day a beautiful one. They made us feel awesome. We didn't have any issues. Our guests were VERY impressed with everything. So many compliments. Was supposed to have our ceremony outside, but because of the rain last min change to indoors. The crew that was assigned to us helped that change go smoothly. It was a GREAT Wedding and Reception.

Double Tree was very organized throughout the whole process! They do over a hundred weddings per year and have so many ideas to offer. Tricia was so helpful during the whole process and made sure we had every detail accounted for. We were very impressed with the food and service, and even the help the day after when collecting all of our decorations. I would recommend this venue to any couple planning a wedding in the Bay City area! Plus you cannot beat the location :)

They truly made me feel like we were their first priority, even though there was 3 other weddings going on the same day! Tricia, Arielle and Stephanie are a dream team for a bride to work with.

We are so glad we chose the Double Tree for our wedding venue! All of our guests were so impressed with the food and views! Tricia Coonan was always on top of everything and such a pleasure to work with! The service was impeccable, the staff were all so accommodating and friendly! We had the absolute best weekend! (I would say be careful of half-ballroom weddings-we had another wedding next to us and their guests were at our bar, using our bathroom basket items, and tried eating off our dessert table out in the hallway!) The Gouda chicken, filet, and seared shrimp were AMAZING!

We are so glad we chose the Double Tree for our wedding venue! All of our guests were so impressed with the food and views! Tricia Coonan was always on top of everything and such a pleasure to work with! The service was impeccable, the staff were all so accommodating and friendly! We had the absolute best weekend! (I would say be careful of half-ballroom weddings-we had another wedding next to us and their guests were at our bar, using our bathroom basket items, and tried eating off our dessert table out in the hallway!) First off, Trisha was amazing and always quick to answer my emails! Our wedding was small, so we were originally booked into one of the side conference rooms...Trisha upgraded us to one of the ballrooms for no extra charge - and let me tell you - EVERYONE was blown away by our ballroom and foyer! It easily exceeded everyone's expectations for a hotel, and people still tell us how beautiful and stunning the room, food and decor were! I have to give MAJOR PROPS to the staff. I left our decorations out in disarray, figuring I enough time to finish putting them out before the reception. When we arrived to the ballroom, everything was put out and as we imagined! It was our responsibility to put it all out, but the staff did it for us. The room was STUNNING! The food was good...the only complaint I have - and that is with me digging for one - is that the buffet was taken away too soon. It would have been nice to have a plate of food saved to snack on for energy when it came time to refuel for dancing and pictures. Katie was part of the staff I saw while dinner was being served. She was always checking on me, making sure I had a cold drink or food to help get me through the night. She is a gem and deserves to be recognized because of her heart and compassion.Having a wedding at this hotel was a GREAT experience, and I recommend it to anyone that loves Bay City and/or the view of the river <3

The DoubleTree by Hilton in Bay City, completely blew our expectations out of the water! Working alongside Tricia made the stress that comes along with being a bride, non-existent. She had the answer to all of our questions & gave GREAT advice when we came to a crossroads with what to do! I was worried about the timeline and keeping on track during the reception, but we had someone there guiding us at all times! We were constantly asked if there was anything we needed & nothing was out of our reach! The food was phenomenal, we still get compliments on it! The venue is absolutely breathtaking! It is in the perfect location with so many beautiful places to take bridal party pictures. We are so happy with our decision to go with the DoubleTree!!! They handed out our guests \"thank you\" bags at the front desk for those who were spending the night. Every time we had any sort of question, they were quick to respond & always helpful/cheerful! They made us feel like we were the only wedding that mattered, when they have a TON of weddings to cater to during the busy summer months. We wish we could go back to our special day all the time & we would 100x do it over again at the DoubleTree, no questions asked!! I simply cannot say enough great things about the venue, I am missing a ton, but there was not one thing I was disappointed in!Bonus, you get a free honeymoon suite & they leave you a sweet note along with a meal & water in the fridge, so when you get done dancing the night away, you have something to snack on in the room!

Was there for a wedding & was some of worst service/food I have ever experienced at a party. Venue is great si too bad the other intangibles were brutal!! Servers refuses to accommodate any requests even for coffee or tea, let alone stale bread left over from a previous wedding. They showed absolitely no interest in helping anyone. Finally asked what their job was & was told 'stop people from stealing plates.' OMG Dinner was bad & when requested the apps from cocktail hour, was told staff ate them all already....wedding party requested a drink & server suggested he get it.... Got up for cake & when came back coffee was gone, requested more & was told could no longer serve coffee, they 'dumped it all' & was past time they could serve it. One of those situations that can't complain to bride/groom but everyone knows they didn't get what they paid for, very disappointing..

We were so happy that we decided to have our daughter's wedding reception at the Doubletree Hilton in Bay City. Tricia did a fantastic job of helping us plan everything from the time we booked the venue to making sure everything ran smoothly on the big day! They have a lot of options for decorating the venue, and you can pick and choose depending on what your taste is. The grand ballroom was decorated beautifully, and Tricia made sure the bride and groom got a \"first look\" before all the guests came in, which was important to them. The food was delicious and we liked that our guests could have a choice of entrees for the plated meal. The staff was efficient and welcoming to all our guests. The bride and her bridesmaids enjoyed the use of the beautiful and spacious Wenonah Suite that morning to get ready for the wedding. We were glad we contracted Amanda to take care of a lot of little details the day of the wedding as far as setup and placing things just as we wanted at the tables and lighting under the head table. It was very convenient for the guests to be able to go upstairs to their rooms at the end of the reception, as well as to be right downtown to enjoy all the shops and waterfront. We did have a brunch the next morning in a banquet room. The food was delicious and all the details were taken care of for us. I would definitely recommend the Doubletree for a beautiful and elegant wedding reception.

The Double Tree went completely above and beyond for our wedding on NYE 2016. Trisha was absolutely amazing always professional and organized and helpfu. Making sure to ask the right questions so I was prepared. If we had any questions she would always provide really good solutions. The food was amazing! Bartenders did a great job as well! My day was perfect and that was all help from the Double Tree Staff

The Doubletree Hotel is the BEST place to look if you're looking for a wonderful wedding coordinator who thinks when the bride can't, extremely friendly Banquet managers to connect with throughout your special night and attentive staff never letting your glass be empty! We had our wedding reception at the Double Tree Hotel on 4/5/2014. Everything was absolutely perfect! I had many picky eaters comment on how great the food was. We loved that the hotel is in Downtown Bay City so did all of our guests. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel so relaxed. We were able to get very speedy responses to any and all questions that we had. When we brought our items to the event staff for them to put on the tables I was able to relax knowing that everything was going to be handled exactly how I wanted and perfectly! \rGuests commented that the rooms were lovely and they have very large and nice handicapped rooms available.

Tricia was absolutely amazing!\rNot only did she help with planning my reception venue. But she also helped us pick our ceremony site! The doubletree staff was amazing and the staff was fun they even got on the dance floor with us sometimes!\r\rThe food was phenomenal! Key word advice to brides.. make sure your able to eat!\r\rThe bar package we got was another plus my guests and ourselves never were without a drink the bar tender made sure of that for me and my husband!\r\rI would recommend the doubletree for all your wedding needs and than some! Great experience all around!

Everything about the entire experience was nothing short of perfect. Small things that didn’t go per plan were corrected immediately and without hesitation. The food is exceptional (not your grandmas' wedding food by any stretch of the imagination!), overall organization is on-point, the event room is flawless, and the hotels grounds are very well maintained. And who doesn’t love the fresh cookies?!?!?! Tricia and her entire stuff are just awesome to work with! \r\rLong story short, I would highly recommend the Hilton Riverfront Bay City to anyone lusting for a classy ceremony and reception…..at a price point that offers tremendous value for what you are getting. Yeah, you will pay a bit more than the traditional hall wedding…..but trust me, it’s so worth it!

She was very honest and accommodating and I never felt like I was being pressured to purchase something. When my husband and I were researching vendors to host our reception, we looked at many. Most did not have the all-inclusive needs that we had. The Doubletree met all of our needs for a reception space, ceremony space and lodging for all of our out of town guests. The staff were PHENOMENAL! Tricia, the catering manager, was available to answer all of my questions and helped to make our day flawless. On the day of the wedding we were assigned two staff persons to facilitate the wedding day festivities and they were soooo helpful! From finding my father (when he was no where to be found) to carrying my train so it didn't drag out to the ceremony space, the staff was there to help. We served plated dinners to our guests and they came out fresh and delicious. We offered an open bar to our 21 and older guests. The guests informed me that the cocktail hour was great (the bridal party did not schedule time to taste it) and they told us the rooms were clean and the front desk staff were accommodating. If we were to plan and host our wedding all over again, I would not even consider doing it anywhere else. The level of organization and professionalism that the DoubleTree provided was unsurpassed and they helped to create for us, a wedding to remember.

I just had my wedding reception at the Doubletree. And it was excellent! Tricia was great to work with, she answered all of our questions quickly. And walked us through everything, also pointed out things we didn't even think about. \rThe night of the reception was great. I have only gotten good remarks from my guests about the food (the salmon to be exact). We went with the Eternal Flame buffett package. The waitstaff that night were great. There was a wedding going on right next door and you would have never known. The cocktails were delicious as well. \rOur overnight guests loved the rooms. And the groom and myself got the river king suite for both nights. It was beautiful, worked perfectly to hang out with our wedding party in. \rMy husband and I loved the whole experience and would certainly do it again.

Whenever I'd call or email, they were always quick to answer. The day of the wedding, the staff were readily available and always there to reassure me that everything was going as planned. The facilities were clean, well groomed (we had the ceremony outside) and set up beautifly! Along with having superb service and accomodations, the food we chose for dinner was amazing! We continue to get compliments on the quality of food and service at our wedding at the DoubleTree. Thank you many times over to Tricia, Emily and the staff at The DoubleTree Hilton Bay City - Riverfront! I would recommend this venue for all.

Our son's wedding was held there July 14, 2012 and it couldn't have been any nicer. The grounds were groomed and there were flowers and shrubs at the outside site of the ceremony, so many that we didn't have to add anything but family and friends. They also assured us if the weather was wet, too hot, too windy, they were prepared for us indoors! The staff couldn't do enough for us...always similing and friendly. Nothing but good comments about the reception and the food was delicious! Will have all our \"special\" events there! We even stayed there Saturday night, and 35 of us enjoyed the wonderful brunch on Sunday.

I recently had my reception at the Double tree in Bay City and everything was absolutely beautiful! I had quite a few meetings with Tricia, the wedding coordinator, and even more emails. She was so attentive to every detail that needed to be addressed, so that on the day of the wedding everything went extremely smoothly! We only used half of the ballroom, and the other half was being used by another wedding. You couldn't even tell that there was another wedding reception in progress. It worked out perfect. The food was also superb! Everyone absolutely loved the food, which I thought was something since usually at weddings, I hate the food. We also had a breakfast the following morning and that breakfast food was amazing as well! I realize that this place is a little pricey, I almost didn't choose this facility because of it, however, I am so happy that I spent the extra money because my wedding day was perfect! Thank you so much to all of the staff at double tree!

Kim Kisser is the wedding coordinator here, and she did a terrific job keeping on top of everything...and keeping me on track too! The service and the food were fantastic; we got rave reviews from our guests. \r\rMy only complaint would be about the bar. We had to chose the premium bar just to avoid draft beer. I'm 46 years old, my husband is 62, so our guests were definitely an older crowd; the bartenders didn't have to work very hard to get their 20% service fee off a substantial bar tab...and yet they put out a tip jar!!! 20%! And they nickle and dimed my guests for a few extra dollars! Wow, was I unhappy about this! When I asked beforehand to make sure they wouldn't do this, I was told that I should check and make sure there wasn't one out. Really? Me? It's my responsibility to make sure the bartenders don't put out a tip jar???? And then they DID. Grrrrrr. The bartenders each made $200 from the service charge - talk about greedy, and I can't believe the Doubletree tolerates this. Apparently, it's against their policy, but they look the other way; to me, it should get them fired.\r\rOther than this, everything was perfect. It really is too bad that this is the thing I'll remember; it left a really bad taste in my mouth.

There were just so many things that were poorly/incorrectly done (or not done at all). We planned on getting married 2 weeks earlier, but were talked into changing our date so that the hotel could keep that weekend open for conferences that might come up. We found out that the date we had then agreed to was the same date and time as another wedding, but were assured this wouldn't be a problem.\r\rAt the rehearsal, there were no chairs in the room. The coordinator asked if the officiant was taking care of entrances/exits, and when I said yes, she said she would just be in her office, which is fine, but she never came back to check on anything. Eventually, someone got us chairs, but only enough for half the people there, many of whom were older and needed to be sitting.\r\rOn the day of the wedding, the front desk had to find the coordinator, who was missing minutes before our ceremony. The set-up of the room was such that the entire front row of guests (including parents and grandparents) couldn't even see our faces. One bridesmaid kept having to shift around so as not to bump knees with someone in the front row. \r\rGetting everyone out to the cocktail room was a mess. We were assured that the other wedding wouldn't be done yet so there wouldn't be any confusion. Our guests exited to a sea of other people. When we returned from pictures, they had stationed the entrance to our reception room across from another event; our guests were forced to navigate around another table of people signing in. I saw the coordinator once, for about 30 seconds during this time, and after we were announced and went in, she disappeared. She was gone for so long that vendors began asking me what was happening, and I had nothing to tell them. Our DJ stepped up and took over coordinating duties (and also mentioned to me that the coordinator had never once contacted her) and our photographer had to coach us through cutting the cake. This may or may not be the coordinator's duty, but surely organizing things with the vendors is.\r\rWhen we entered the room, everything was set up differently than the schematic we'd signed off on. All guests were at the wrong tables, because the tables in the room were mislabeled. The flowers weren't where we had discussed, nor was the dance floor, the DJ station, or even the door we were supposed to come in through. The coordinator had asked me to give a list of guests and what they had chosen for dinner, but it seemed as if none of the waitstaff even knew what the bride and groom had asked for, let alone any of the other tables.\r\rThe last straw was when my husband walked over to a corner of the room at ten thirty at night and said, \"There are desserts over there.\" We served our cake for the formal dessert, but nobody ever announced to any of us that they had put out desserts and coffee. Everything was wasted because nobody was aware of them. And at some point, half of my mother-in-laws favors got misplaced.\r\rThe only thing keeping this from being a one-star review is that the facilities themselves were extraordinarily nice.\r\rThis is just speculation but we feel that our wedding may have received less attention because the other wedding was much larger than ours, and we suspect that the coordinator spent much more time with their wedding than with ours. I loved this hotel, they answered all of my questions about our wedding block and each guest got a warm cookie when they checked in! I also had a brunch the following morning and they arranged a private lounge for us at no extra cost. The only down side is that guest rooms are still on the expensive side.

Tricia Coonan (Events Director) Tricia has been with the DoubleTree by Hilton Bay City - Riverfront for over 16 years and has extensive experience in wedding coordinating. She is an amazing asset to the DoubleTree because of her strong relationships with local vendors and her willingness to make sure our brides have a unique and memorable experience.
