We worked with Jeanette, Brianna, and their team for our wedding room block. They were so great to work with and attentive to our needs. We also ended up booking a makeup room and a farewell brunch for the day after the wedding. The makeup room came with mirrors, plenty of seating, makeup remover wipes, and was cutely decorated. There was plenty of food at brunch, and it gave our guests the opportunity to say goodbye without being rushed. Our hotel room was MASSIVE and worked out perfectly for sorting our decor before and after the wedding. Whenever we had a request, managers were responsive, and went above and beyond to help. When we arrived, we learned that there were about 13 other weddings staying at the hotel the same weekend! We rarely ran into those groups, and I could not believe the hotel was able to manage it so effortlessly. Very much appreciated. The hotel is a bit dated, but the managers make up for it. Would definitely recommend the DoubleTree for a wedding room block. Reviewed on 16-10-2023

We paid for a private room and food to host an after party for our guests and when we got back from the wedding the room was open, food was almost all gone with another bridal party! The other bride even came over to apologize for her guests after. There was only one person working trying to manage three after parties and it was pure chaos. We ended up having to order Dominos for our guest after we spent $800+ already with the hotel. The hotel did nothing to rectify this or offer some sort of refund. We loved that we were able to give out welcome bags with no additional cost and everyone we worked with there was so kind. We especially loved the after party. Originally, we were supposed to have it in a smaller room as we didn't anticipate too many guests, but the staff thought we might need more space and moved us to a larger area at no additional charge and we are so glad that they did! Alyssa Stramacchia(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-07-2021 Unfortunately, my experience with the Doubletree in Danvers was not good and became the only stressful part of the planning process. I was supposed to get married in June of 2020, so in 2019 I inquired about the DoubleTree and decided to move forward. When I first reserved a block of rooms, I was going to block 10 rooms, but changed it to 30. The hotel approved the contract, telling me I had 30 rooms, when in reality they only blocked off 10. Guests were calling to book a room and they were being told the block was already filled. Once I found out that they blocked the incorrect amount, it took 2 months for them to finally fix it before I could communicate to my guests it was all set. They also gave me the contract with the correct spelling of my (now husbands name) but at the time it was misspelled on their end. So other guests were calling to book a room and they were being told there was no wedding room block which also frustrated me.Then the pandemic happened so everything got moved to 2021. When I gave guests the new link and phone number to book, many guests said when they called they were placed on hold for atleast 20 minutes and the whole process was time consuming just to book a room. On top of that, the front desk was giving us different answers for the same question. For example: I asked if I could have an early check in for my room (as the bride) and they told me to call the morning of the day I need to check in early to get it. So I told my guests who needed to do that. My Dad calls the appropriate morning and the front desk says âwe donât do that hereâ so my dad had to get the manager involved.It was disappointing that I even had to ask for early check in - maybe that can be a perk for the bride when they are bringing in so many guests for a wedding? Just a thought.My husband and I booked a suite. The suite was okay, but needs a serious update. Not to mention, my room amongst many others said that the carpet in some spots was damp after the cleaners came in, giving the room a musty smell.Lastly - out of all my guests (atleast 60) that stayed, one of my guests had to pay for parking! I donât know how that happened and why she got singled out but she was charged $7 a day and no one else.The sales department was great! I worked with a woman named Stephanie and Courtney and they were excellent! Returning my emails and calls.The reservations department and front desk need SERIOUS help with communication and organization. Neither one knew anything about the other.Lastly, the reason why my review is even this detailed is because I left a much shorter but not positive review on Wedding Wire and the DoubleTree emailed me that they are disputing it! They took my review down unless I can have a âcountersignedâ contract to prove I booked rooms there. I have a contract (a few actually) but because it isnât countersigned they took down my review. Our main contact changed 5-6 times in less than a year. We were never notified that our contact had changed, no one was ever brought up to date, and everyone gave different information. The hotel told guests that they were \"full,\" even though there was still spaces in our wedding block available. This was handled and all our guests stayed at the hotel, but this should never have happened. We planned an after party at the hotel bar with food as well as a breakfast/brunch sunday morning. Every single thing we worked with this hotel on was a struggle. Do not recommend if you have any other option. Full year of frustrations! Reviewed on 09-10-2019

However, I will cite my dire embarrassment for the Bride/Groom. As the ceremony ended and cocktail hour began, guests were blindly ushered into a room labeled for a high school function which was GARISHLY lit. There was only enough seating for, maybe, 22 guests out of 100 and some tables were left bare (no tablecloths). Luckily, a large section of the wall (double-doors which lead to a back storage area) were left wide open providing us an opportunity to go back and drag out our own chairs. There was a nice cheese/cracker display which was quickly consumed as the hot hors d'oeuvres were not served until the last 10 minutes. The remainder of the night seemed to go smoothly and, ultimately, a great time was had by all. I fully realize that there is so much that could go wrong at a wedding......... but for a venue to be so completely unprepared such as they were was incredibly unprofessional and an embarrassment all around! The original coordinator we were dealing with left earlier this year and we found out a lot of what he told us was not true. We were assured that everything would be better moving forward and we had confidence with the new coordinator. However communication was very poor - especially the day of the wedding. Our coordinator did not check in with us when she arrived at the venue and we had to track her down to find out what the plan was for our ceremony. Our ceremony was held in the Living Room. As this is a way to get to Coco Keys we were promised there would be partitions put up so guests could not walk through our ceremony area. Partitions were not put up and there was actually an event in the restaurant that was so loud some of my guests could not hear our ceremony even though we had a microphone. After the ceremony the coordinator was supposed to bring our bridal party to a special cocktail area but she disappeared and my bridesmaids had to take charge. We also had an issue in that they accused us of going through more beer than we did in the wedding party cocktail area and later admitted that this was a miscommunication on their part. However after this incident our coordinator disappeared again and even though the front desk paged her multiple times she did not respond. My bridesmaids had to move the guests into the reception room and my DJ took charge of moving things forward. I originally fell in love with the venue but wish we cancelled our contract when things started going downhill with the first coordinator. The service during the reception and the food was great. My guests had a great time and had no idea we had been dealing with these issues. Luckily I had an amazing bridal party who was able to help me when our coordinator should have been and an incredible DJ (Andres from First Class Weddings) who completely turned the night around for us. I would not book with this venue unless you can deal with the stress of poor communication and handling things yourself on your wedding day. Reviewed on 05-11-2017

We originally booked the venue with a wedding coordinator that was a nightmare but we loved the space so much we booked anyways. Things were hectic because the coordinator was fired and eventually anthony was hired. Anthony was very nice throughout the process but the entire planning was so unorganized and the venue had no clue as to what they were doing. My room block was not linked and I had to continue hounding my guests to find out who booked and who didn't because they couldn't figure out how to fix it, months before the wedding I suggested that they create an entire new link (you'd think that a hotel would know to do this) and this did fix the solution after all my guests had already booked. I had to write out very detailed time lines because I felt so nervous about the organization of the venue. On the night of our rehearsal dinner the wedding planner was no where to be found so I had to run the entire rehearsal with our officiant, all of my family couldn't believe he left, but I blew it off because I managed it. The night of our wedding we had the ballroom until 1230, and the wedding planner left at 11pm, knowing that I had planned a sparkler send of. Luckily my dj's wife played the role and organized the send off for us but it was still a bit hectic. I will say that the venue is beautiful and the food was great, but besides that I can't say anything good about the experience we had. Since day one it was very stressful and there was no support at all from the wedding planner. The day of the wedding we had five rooms blocked off for our vendors, this had been planned for a long time and when they went to check in there were never rooms held for them. If you are the type of bride that can juggle it all on your own and be okay with waiting over a week for responses from the venue then go for it because the prices are great, but you get what you pay for! The DoubleTree North Shore wasn't my first choice, but once I saw the grand ballroom and how spacious and elegant it was, I was immediately impressed, and booked the venue. What I loved about the DoubleTree was their amazing package including just about everything you need for your wedding (for me the gold start was chiavari chairs that were included in the package because I knew I wasn't settling for any other chair!). My amazing, mother did do most of my planning, she's very picky and a woman who knows what she wants. Anthony, our wedding planner was more than accommodating with making all of her requests met. Your wedding should be the most amazing, beautiful day of your life, and for us it definitely was thanks to the Double Tree Boston North Shore! Reviewed on 26-12-2016

When we first started our planning with them we were talking with Jessica and someone else and They were both were great. Jessica walked us around the hotel showed us our options of each of the different rooms. When we were there we fell in love with the Living Room for our cocktail hour and we were sold. We signed a week later with them. We were very happy with everything so far. They worked with us to get the price down some more so it wouldn't break the bank. She always had the answers to the questions we had and got back right away which was great for a bride. In Jan of 2015 she called us and let us know what she was not going to be there anymore and thats how we got to know Amanda. She was also great to work with. She knew her stuff, had answers and got back quickly. When we had our tasting we had a great time and she was wonderful. We enjoyed meeting with her and even my mother liked her. Then we found out she was leaving in June. We met with Emily for the first time in July. She was very new and didn't have many answers to our questions. We didn't get a good vibe from that first meeting. We walked away not to happy. She didn't understand what we were talking about that Amanda and us had talked about and questioned everything that we were talking about. As time went on, things got worse. She wouldn't get back to us with questions we had or had answers the venders had that we emailed her. Then with 3 weeks to go, she wouldn't get back to us with any questions we had for over 2.5 weeks. Questions like time lines, final prices hotel room questions, set up questions important things like that.Im sorry but if you are emailed at least 3 times and even had voicemails left by us and you can't get back its not ok. Finally we called the hotel and asked to speak with a manager and thats when someone else stepped in and got us the info to us and we spent time dealing with them and her. We did the final meeting with both of them and told them how unhappy we were. The wedding day was nice and was everything we wanted because we did all the work. The day after the wedding we went to get all of our stuff and found out that our cake topper as missing.. Took them a week to find it. Im sorry but i would never tell anyone about this location. We were so unhappy during this planning.. How is it a reception sight in the total of a year and a half have 4 event planners? Reviewed on 19-10-2015
Kelly Allen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-09-2015 Great place to do a block - very nice rooms, and they give you a complimentary room for the bride and groom once you fill 50 guest rooms in your block. They do require 80% of your room block to be filled or else you are responsible for paying the rest yourself - which was not a problem for us, but I would advise you not to over-estimate how many rooms you need. You can always add rooms later. Maria was great to work with for our room block. She was very attentive with quick responses. We blocked about 35 rooms for our wedding (and needed to add rooms 3-4 times during that process). The hotel itself has something for everyone: restaurant, pool, hot tub, sauna, CoCo Keys water park, arcade room, and so many little spots for pictures! While Maria was responsive to our problems and I think did her best to try to fix the issues we were having, there were just too many issues. From the start, our guests had a very difficult time booking in our room block. Guests were misinformed in various ways when they called to book, hearing things from \"the room block is full\" when actually nobody had booked a room yet, to \"in order to join the room block you have to pay to upgrade to an executive room\" (which also wasn't true). Our biggest disappointment was that our welcome bags were not handed out to many of our guests. We had put a schedule in the welcome bags, on which we invited our guests to join us in the Tradewinds Lounge for cocktails the night before the wedding. We had a lot of out of town guests and were hoping to see them in a more informal setting before the wedding. We later found out that because our guests didn't get a welcome bag, they didn't know we would be in the lounge and never came down to see us. Reviewed on 20-07-2015

The planning staff was helpful but it would sometimes take a follow up call or email to get a response back. The wedding block rate was about $60 less than their standard room, so it was a significant discount which was nice for our quests. They also let us add more rooms once our block was full so our guests could get the discounted rate which was nice. \r\rThere were a couple issues the night before the wedding with our rooms which was a little stressful, but the staff on the desk that night were very helpful. \r\rMy bridal party and I had our hair and makeup done in my room which was great to be able to relax the morning of the wedding. We were in one of the deluxe king rooms, which fit the 6 of us plus the hair and makeup ladies comfortably. Reviewed on 31-01-2014

The Doubletree was the first place I looked at then proceeded to waste my time looking at many other places (country clubs, other hotels, restaurants). You name it I looked and still found myself back at the Doubletree. I was not the typical bride who was obsessed with planning the perfect wedding, thankfully I didnât need to be working with the staff at the Doubletree, and they took care of everything! \r\rFrom start to finish my experience was flawless, fun and easy! \rI can honestly say that I, my family or any of the wedding guests cannot make a negative comment about the Doubletree! All we keep hearing is that it was the best wedding; so much fun and relaxed, never rushed, beautiful and great food! \r\rI had everything here from start to finish; getting ready there all day, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and after party in the bar...it was a blast! \r\rThe food was exceptional and the place looked gorgeous! We got filet and chicken and every piece of steak was cooked perfectly; that is a very difficult task when catering to so many. I purposely went table to table while my guests were eating so I could see the food and everyone cleaned their plates! That alone made my day! \r\rI cannot say enough about the staff; friendly, fun, professional, attentive...everything you could want, they are truly great at what they all do! \r\rMelissa was exceptional & I don't know how I would have planned this without her, she covered everything and I will always be grateful to her! \r\rI highly recommend having any event here, not only was it perfect it was affordable.\r\rI had the perfect wedding day thanks to everyone at the Doubletree ï\r Reviewed on 24-10-2013

But after our first tour and meeting with Stefanie, we knew it was perfect for us. The hotel is now being changed to Doubletree and under going a lot of renovations and changes. We had our wedding in the grandballroom on August 25th, right before the ballroom went under renovations. We had our ceremony on site, which was very nice. Staff was great and very easy to work with. Stefanie is awesome and I LOVED working with her. She is so patient and always willing help out. The food was very good. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the chicken was delicious and moist. Their chef is working on a new menu right now, so I'm sure it will be even better! We have no regrets choosing Coco Key has our venue. It was perfect for us! Reviewed on 11-09-2012

First, we were dissapointed when our wedding venue changed from the Crowne Plaza to the Coco Key and did not make the transition to the Hilton by the day of our wedding which the manager seemed to implywas going to happen. The second downfall was when the wedding coordinator left the hotel (she was a reason we booked with them) and there was a transition time until a replacement was found. The only other odd thing was we were given discounted coupons for our guests to use the waterpark, and during the week of the wedding we were informed it was actually closed for renovation.\rDespite these intial concerns, our wedding turned out better than we could have imagined and the hotel staff were attentive and organized. The wedding coordinator Stefani was very helpful with dealing with last minute weddingt plans, and manager Robin made our day easy and fun. We also had a gracious server (CJ) that added to the enjoyment of our day. The facilities were great (hotel rooms were quite large and the reception dance floor was the biggest I've seen). I would recommend this venue to future brides and would hope all the name change/renovations would not affect things. Reviewed on 26-05-2012
