Beautiful hotel in the PH area for a wedding block. I was in a different country and they were great about communicating over email. We had a few glitches getting the booking link setup but Riley was awesome and able to get to the bottom of the issue and had it all fixed before we released it to our guests! Sarah was great to communicate with to get the contract setup. It was easy to extend the block once the first group of rooms was booked. Check in and out was very easy for us and all our guests and they helped direct our guests to the shuttle. Rooms are very clean and well kept. Beds were also very comfortable after a very long day! The suite was perfect for our whole wedding party to get ready in - lots of space. Thankful that Doubletree was a part of our big day, and those cookies, yum! Prices are a little high, especially if converting to Canadian and do wish there was a breakfast included but these are small things that don’t affect the great stay we had!

Sarah, Riley and Amanda were amazing with my wedding. These ladies are wonderful and very easy to work with. Communication was wonderful and they were always there to answer any questions I had. The venue was beautiful and the food amazing! Best chicken tenders I've ever had! If you are lucky enough to have your event at this location you are in for a treat. All the staff was amazing!

Sarah, Riley and Amanda were amazing with my wedding. These ladies are wonderful and very easy to work with. Communication was wonderful and they were always there to answer any questions I had. The venue was beautiful and the food amazing! Best chicken tenders I've ever had! If you are lucky enough to have your event at this location you are in for a treat. All the staff was amazing!

We hosted a wedding and reception in the Abby room Labor Day weekend and it was absolutely amazing. Sarah and Riley (sales manager/planner) were organized and communicated well with us and each other. The venue is so beautiful multiple people came up to us and told us what a great venue we chose. The entire staff would offer to help or ask us what we need. Justin, was there to lend a helping hand both during set up and clean-up. We received many compliments on the food, we went with plated braised beef and chicken marsala. The pricing was was very reasonable for all you get. I agree with another review that suggested you pay the upcharge for Mac and Cheese. Many of the guests took advantage of the walkway along the water and other amenities. We had blocks of rooms and everyone I spoke with was thrilled their room. I would recommend next time that everyone pay a little extra for the a view of the water and either book in the block or directly through the hotel and not an outside site. Honestly, Riley and the rest of the staff made what can sometimes be a stressful day relaxed and carefree. The venders they recommended were top notch as well. The bar staff made sure that our guests didn't have to wait long for drinks. They had two bars set up one inside and one outside. I have another wedding to host in the next year or two and I would love it if they picked this location too. I highly recommend this venue for a wedding and receptions.

My day was absolutely perfect! Everyone complemented me on the venue because it was so elegant, Sarah and Riley both made everything go so smooth for me and I could not thank them the enough. The food from freighters also was amazing, I was stuffed and wanted to keep stuffing my face! The venue is right next to the river so pictures were easy to get. My mom booked a suite which allowed us to have a big room to get ready in so I do recommend that for my fellow brides. (It was room 310 if you want assistance getting the big room to rent they can tell you what style lol)

We loved our time and experience at the Double Tree! We were able to have our April 30th ceremony outside! Riley and Sarah were very easy to communicate with before, during and after our big day. The indoor reception space came together so beautifully and comfortably accommodated our guests. We didn't have the opportunity to indulge in the appetizers that we had selected, however we heard that they were great. We went with the Southwest Buffet for dinner - it was an absolute hit with all of our guests! (months later; we're still hearing about how enjoyable dinner was!) Sarah La Forge and the rest of the Double Tree Port Huron staff saved our wedding from disaster! A power outage took out all the power at our venue in the middle of the rehearsal and it didn't come back on until the day after our wedding. However, that didn't stop Sarah and her team! They rallied all their local contacts, worked with multiple caterers, borrowed generators and equipment from other DJs and got everything together to the point that you really didn't notice that that there was no power. A lot of other venues would have just told us that we were out of luck, but I cannot begin to describe how amazing this team was in making sure this \"act of god\" didn't stop our special day. It was such a pleasure working with Sarah over the two years we were engaged. She always went out of her way to answer my many questions and was really flexible and willing to customize our experience to meet our needs. The venue was absolutely beautiful, multiple guests and vendors also told us the food was the best wedding food they'd ever had. I love these people and we will be returning to the Double Tree in the future to relive our special day and say hello to Sarah. Book now. You won't be disappointed.

Our guests loved the Doubletree. It was great for families, couples, and single friends. We had our wedding on 5/26/23 at the Port Huron Doubletree and it was a dream come true. Riley and Sarah were phenomenal to work with throughout the entire process. They were attentive, quick to respond and paid attention to every single detail. The venue truly speaks for itself. The grounds are stunning with the water and the bridge. The hotel is beautiful with the gold chandeliers and all the natural lighting. The hotel staff was also SO accommodating. The bridal party got a noise complaint at the end of the night after the wedding was over, so the hotel staff put some tables together downstairs away from other rooms with fresh cookies and waters and said “let us know if you need anything else, enjoy!” Still so unbelievably overwhelmed with how perfect our day was. Highly, highly recommend this venue and team!!

We had our wedding at the blue water convention center and we used the hotel during our weekend stay and it was amazing!! The suite was so much bigger then I thought it would be and it was perfect for my bridal crew getting ready together. I can’t wait to see the photos from that. Amazing staff and my kids room was connected to our suite which was so amazing also. So kind of them get that for us. Everyone who I worked with was just amazing! The room was clean and just overall a perfect stay.

We are so happy we chose this venue for our special wedding day. Everything turned out perfectly! Sarah was a tremendous help throughout the wedding planning process and especially the day of helping things to run smoothly and allowing our vision come to life. Before the big day, Sarah was efficient with answering all and any questions we had leading up to it and was super helpful when we asked for suggestions on certain aspects. The venue itself is incredibly beautiful. We received many compliments from our guests saying so themselves. The overlook of the St. Clair River during the ceremony was even more gorgeous than we imagined. It was just overall a beautiful day. The only problem we encountered was that dinner appeared to be a little behind and we had to push back the start of the first/formal dances a bit, but it all worked out and didn't put a damper on the day. I will say for dinner, add the House Made Mac & Cheese!!! Just do it. You won't regret it. A month after our wedding, we still have friends and family talking about how good the Mac & Cheese was. Heck, we still talk about it ourselves too. In the end, we have absolutely no regrets choosing DoubleTree - Port Huron to host our wedding and we would recommend them to anyone looking for a venue for their special day and to highly take them into consideration!

All staff members were extremely accommodating to us and our 40 guest rooms we had booked from Friday - Sunday. Samantha and Sarah were wonderful through the entire booking process and during our stay. The suites were the perfect size for our bridal party - spacious enough to have 15 girls and the hair and makeup team get ready the morning of the wedding. We were able to have our first look on the patio and that was perfect. All guests were very happy with their stay and we all had a great weekend!

The location is perfect for weddings and the event coordinator Sarah does an absolutely wonderful job helping the couples and their families plan an event that will be remembered fondly for a life time. Any time I had a question or needed help prior to and up time show time she was available. She responses quickly to any questions at any time prior to the event. The serving staff was amazing. There wasn't a single dirty dish or glass on the tables during the dinner service. All of my guests were taken care of. The view is by far the best in the area. The hotel is beautiful with top notch fitness center, beautiful pool, and attached restaurant. I highly recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton on Port Huron. It was truly a dream come true.

This vendor could not have been more accommodating throughout the whole process from the time we booked to the day of the wedding. The bride and groom live in Canada, so it was mostly done through e-mail communication. We used the Abbey room which led right to the outdoor area where the ceremony was held. It was beautiful. It was a perfect location for the American and Canadian guests. The bridge and the water gave a beautiful backdrop. We had a block of rooms for guests staying the night and did everything from the rehearsal, the rehearsal dinner and a continental breakfast the morning after in a conference room reserved for us to use the entire weekend. That room was not the focus but helped us immensely with storage and gathering of guests pre and post wedding. We had a huge bridal suite to get ready for the day. Everything was right on site the entire weekend. They hosted a tasting event months prior to the wedding to help my daughter and son in law make their meal and drink selections. The food was delicious. The service was superb and the wedding coordinators were fabulous. We did not have an unlimited budget, and we got so much for the price we paid. It was very reasonable. We cannot thank Sarah LaForge enough for her attention to detail and for always accommodating us. She took most of the stress away from us so we were able to enjoy the day. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful also. We are extremely happy with this venue and I know the bride and groom feel the same way.

Sarah was amazing ,organized and very helpful. Plus the staff was so patient and friendly. Me and my husband had a small wedding at doubletree hotel and it was prefect the water view is a must and the food was so good . I highly recommend this venue.

Was looking to have a smaller wedding (50 ppl) and I reviewed several vendors before settling on the DoubleTree Hilton PH. Several other hall vendors seemed less than interested in making our big day special since it was a smaller in size. However Sarah and Amanda both took time with us and made us feel equally as special to host our event there. In the months leading up they offered a tasting which was helpful and worked with us to answer any questions or concerns we had. For the day of, Sarah went above and beyond adding some special finishing touches and even stepping in to assit the photographer in achieving some great photos I wanted. Her attention to detail is perfection! The hall itself was beautiful especially with the water view. The staff was great with working with our guests even when special requests were made. Having the hotel available for the guest was so convenient and helpful for \"getting ready\" before the ceremony. I can't express how happy I am with my entire experience with this vendor. Highly recommend!

I got married at the Doubletree in Port Huron on May 28 in my day could not have been any more perfect! The hotel wedding coordinator Sarah LaForge Was absolutely amazing ! She went above and beyond her job to make sure my day was perfect! she fluffed my dress at every picture she took amazing pictures of my wedding for me she was there by my side every minute that I needed her for anything and I don’t even think that I needed to ask her for anything because she was already on top of it! Nobody could’ve did the job she did if it wasn’t for her my wedding would not have been as amazing as it was! I highly recommend the Doubletree just because of her she will give you amazing ideas as well as making sure that everything is absolutely perfect!

Our wedding was absolutely perfect and just the way we imagined it. All the planning leading up to our big day was extremely stressful (Covid especially). We were suppose to get married October 2020, but like many couples, we pushed it back a year and got married October 2021. Amanda was so incredibly helpful with everything! She was so accommodating and flexible with what we wanted and our schedules. We sent a tons of emails and she always responded to every email and promptly. She was even there on our big day which was so comforting incase anything came up and we needed her. All of our guests couldn't stop saying how elegant everything was and loved that the hotel was connected so they could just walk upstairs at the end of the night. We were able to design the lay out of how we wanted things set up and where, which I loved. The food was phenomenal and it was so nice to be able to do a tasting before hand so we could select our menu. We absolutely loved having our wedding here and can't stop looking at all of the beautiful pictures from our day.

We selected DoubleTree in Port Huron for our ceremony and reception because we loved the aesthetic inside the Abbey Room and being so close to the water and Blue Water Bridge! However, COVID-19 changed some of our plans and we instead had the ceremony and reception out on their adjacent patio space. It ended up working out perfectly for our photo sessions, and we had no rain on our big day!! During one of the most difficult times to plan a wedding, we cannot thank Amanda enough for her hard work and dedication to her clients. She is the sales manager at the hotel, and she is a wonderful person who is passionate about event planning. So many curve balls were being thrown at her by us and the restrictions, and she handle them all with immense grace and kindness. She is extremely communicative, flexible and genuinely wants couples to have the best day of their lives! We are grateful to have had her support during one of the most difficult times for not just us, but everyone. To top it off, the entire staff at the hotel were also very aware of our event and were incredibly considerate and accommodating. They have a wonderful team of individuals and we're so glad we chose to work with them!

We were able to get in VERY early to set up and they made sure to come down and check on us to see if we needed anything. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this venue, amazing staff with amazing views!

We had such an amazing weekend weekend. We had out rehearsal dinner at Freighters that is attached to the DoubleTree. Our ceremony was outside and beautiful. The reception was in the Abbey and the space was perfect and allowed for our guest to engage in conversation at one end and dance on the other end. The event staff did a wonderful job and our event planner was great at communicating with us and answering all of our questions to help our day run so smoothly. We also had a breakfast the day after the wedding at Freighters tes which was great to see our guests one more time.

Our ceremony and cocktail hour were outside, the backdrop was the beautiful Blue Water Bridge, St. Clair River with large freighters going by. The outside of the venue was upkept with luscious green grass, colorful flowers, and brick paved patio. This location was perfect for pictures! We took pictures on location, there is also a train track, and vintage cart to take pictures at. Picture perfect venue! Venue-Aesthetics-InsideThe venue used to be the Thomas Edison Inn but then was renovated & took over by DoubleTree by Hilton. With that being said, DoubleTree did an amazing job bringing life into the venue, but still preserving unique vintage qualities. The reception space we rented was the Abbey Room which has beautiful antique chandeliers, a rectangular room with one side having wall to wall windows which brought light, and a beautiful view of the outside. StaffThe manager Sarah Castillo was easy to communicate with, and assured everything the day of went smoothly. Not only was she amazing but so was the rest of the staff! Everyone was professional, friendly, and willing to go above and beyond. The foodMy husband and I feel like food is a very important part to an enjoyable wedding! Before I get into the food, our first encounter was our wedding tasting. It was a pleasant experience, the chef personally came out and explained the options. They really wined & dined us! It made the whole choosing of food enjoyable, and personal. The night of our wedding we had 180 people for a plated dinner. Each guest had the choice of grilled chicken with artichoke caper sauce or NY strip with peppercorn whiskey sauce, both were delicious! Each dinner came with a roll, salad, homemade dressing, a starch and vegetable. For our big day we chose broccoli & parmesan mashed potatoes (the red skin potatoes were a 2nd runner up for the starch). Our guests also enjoyed three different appetizers during the cocktail hour. To get to the bottom line, the food came out flawless, our guests were full, and everyone was happy!

This review is actually for a memorial party – not a wedding reception – but the service received just as exceptional.My sister and I wanted to honor our mother’s memory and celebrate her life with family and friends in a lovely venue in our beloved hometown. Sarah Castillo and her serving crew made it happen, and we cannot thank them enough.Working with Sarah to plan the party was a breeze. I live out of state and was unable to stop in to discuss details and check out the venue. Sarah made sure to address all of my concerns and answer my questions promptly via phone and email, complete with photos. We communicated many times over the four months leading up to the party, and she gave the same respect and attention to our small party of under 75 that she would for a wedding of 200 guests.The day of the party, Sarah was there to make sure everything was set up according to plan, and the servers helped set up our centerpieces, had a table for family photos, etc., and ensure we had everything we needed. Our family is pretty laid-back and informal, so we decided upon simple appetizers, the Southwest buffet, chicken tenders or mac and cheese for the kids, with brownies and cookies for dessert. All the food was delicious, and was served at perfect intervals and correct temperatures.The servers were phenomenal and I cannot say enough about how helpful they were. If you decide to have your reception at the DoubleTree, request these servers: Nicole J, Carolyn, Liz, Nina, Nichole C., Nichole A., Noah, and Austin. They had great personalities, were friendly, kind and caring. They wanted to make sure we had a memorable event, and I’m especially grateful for their patience with us. They were front and center when you needed them, but they also seemingly made dishes from the table disappear magically. They are stealth!We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Sarah, our wedding coordinator was kind and easy to work with. The food was excellent and everyone had a wonderful time. The wedding experience seemed to last longer because we all came in on a Thursday afternoon and stayed two nights. Our party ended with a beautiful breakfast all together on Saturday morning! We have one more daughter unmarried and we will be coming back to the Double Tree for her wedding!

We are sincerely grateful to all those at the Doubletree who helped make our wedding reception everything we could've hoped for and ensuring our guests staying at the hotel had an outstanding experience. Many thanks for your hospitality and especially your kind and considerate treatment of our families and friends celebrating with us. Our expectations were exceeded for every aspect of our stay and as far as the service and food provided for our reception. Sarah Castillo and the staff at the front desk were extremely helpful arranging reservations and went above and beyond to accommodate us on a weekend where the hotel filled up. We choose to buffet option and everything served was excellent. Freighters also provided a great breakfast. I was relaxed and had plenty of time to eat at the reception. The abbey room easily accommodated 150 guests and the patio outside was really a plus. Service was excellent. When some guests were noisy late on the night of the reception they were offered a room on the first floor to bring the liquor and party rather than being kicked out or warned that they would be (which would've been reasonable). The price was very reasonable and lower than other options, and really a bargain given the way things turned out. Housekeeping was excellent also. Hotel was in a beautiful location on the river. Everyone at the front desk was extremely helpful and very pleasant. Really couldn't ask for more.

When we arrived to tour the hotel, the wedding planner, Sarah Castillo, was there to answer any and all questions we had. She was wonderful. They have the perfect area to have a beautiful and intimate outside ceremony that can quickly be changed into a reception. That was just what we did. We ended up using half of the inside space, called the Abbey Room, and all of the outside patio, which has a beautiful view of the water and Blue Water Bridge. After the ceremony, the staff quickly removed the chairs and got the reception started. I did my wedding a little different, instead of having a formal sit down dinner, I had a cocktail reception. Including an Open bar, and continuous trays of food being passed around. It worked out great! The food was to die for and the service was quick and smooth. There was never a guest without a piece of food in their hands and the bartenders were fun. We had a live band, that used one half of the patio, the rest of the patio has standing tables, sit down tables and chairs for guests. All in all, it was perfect. Sarah was great, and the guests loved it.I wouldn't change a thing!

I would absolutely recommend the Doubletree in Port Huron to all future brides. Everything about our wedding was perfect from the great service & food to the gorgeous reception in the Abbey room. The backdrop of the Blue Water Bridge is beautiful for pictures and we were able to have an indoor wedding while still having access to an outdoor patio. The combination of catering/hall/hotel is a bonus. Sarah Castillo was always fast and great at communicating plans up to the day of the wedding & helping to make everything run smooth the day of. We are most excited to have a beautiful place to return to on our anniversary in the future :)

We were extremely satisfied with this venue and the wonderful staff. Sarah and Amber are easy to work with and very professional. The food was great and the wait staff did an outstanding job having the appetizers available for our guests. I really can't think of anything that we weren't happy with. They are very accommodating and helped make our daughter's wedding a success!

Let me just start with Sarah and Chef were amazing - guests are still raving about the room and the food days later. When Hilton took over the Thomas Edison Inn they kept the historic integrity and made it more beautiful. 2. It's on the water and has a beautiful view of the bridge to Canada. 3. They are a one-stop for the biggies - ceremony, reception and catering -that was big for me. It's nice everything is in one spot. Bonus was accommodations on sight for wedding guests. Sarah was fantastic - quick on communication, matched the napkins and sashes to my bright navy blue and lime colors., and did awesome on the layout. The Abbey room was beautiful the day of the wedding. The entire staff was also great from checking in to housekeeping to banquet. Thanks Sarah, DoubleTree and Freighters!

Our wedding was perfect! The staff was beyond nice and very accommodating. Luckily they put up with all our crazy relatives! Samantha the wedding coordinator was nothing but helpful and very organized I didn't have to worry about anything. The food was AMAZING! Our rooms were awesome and it was really convenient that the restaurant was located in the hotel so you could just walk down and get breakfast. We are grateful that our big day went as well as it did!

The staff there is MORE than helpful and were willing to go the extra mile for our special day. The food was delicious and made on site at the hotel's restaurant, Freighters. I love that they use all Michigan products too! My personal favorite was their signature macaroni and cheese :) I can't thank the Doubletree staff enough for making our special day run without a hitch!

The Double tree Hilton of Port Huron was a great place to have a wedding reception. The outstanding river view was perfect for our themed wedding. Everyone loved the Abbey Room; the food and service was great and my son's wedding was memorable. Great place for a party. Our guests loved their rooms at the hotel, especially those with river views.

There are not enough words to explain how grateful my husband and I are to the Doubletree. They were able to create a miracle when the weather ruined our beach ceremony by creating an amazing indoor ceremony at the last minute. The food was absolutely incredible and the staff was so helpful. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you for making our memorable day 10x more amazing!
