Dover Hall is a wedding venue located at the heart of Manakin Sabot, VA. This royal and regal property, reminiscent of the English countryside, was once home to Dennis and Cindy Pryor. In 2014, the Pryor's luxury Virginia estate was transformed into a stunning fairytale venue for weddings and special occasions. In 2017, the Dover Hall Experiences team took the reins and have since hosted hundreds of heartfelt "I dos." Dover Hall is a medieval-style mansion that sits on 38,000 acres of rich green pasture. From pointed wooden arches and velvet couches to intricate wallpaper and queen-sized beds draped in extravagant tapestries, this renaissance property gives all its guests a glimpse of the glamor of a bygone era. A large venue, Dover Hall can host up to 400 loved ones and boasts a wide selection of ceremony and celebration spaces. For al fresco vow exchanges, couples can make their declaration of love next to Dover Hall's glistening outdoor pool. Indoor ceremonies can be held in the solarium, which features large, panoramic windows for breathtaking vistas of the surrounding Dover Hall estate. Once the thrill of the party begins, everyone can retreat to the two-story ballroom, fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows, a stone-cut fireplace, giant sparkling chandeliers, and plenty of space for dining and dancing. Dover Hall also hosts an array of impressive suites where the nearlyweds can feel like royalty as they dress to impress for their big day. The Dover Hall team does its best to give clients across the state a one-of-a-kind wedding experience. I got married at Dover Hall and got to see my dream wedding come to life! My guests were blown away by the uniqueness and beauty of this magical venue. The chef is incredible and every meal came out delicious, hot, and plated to perfection - which is extremely hard to do for a guest count above 150. There is a huge team of staff on wedding day to accommodate your every need, and they were also heavily involved and accessible during the planning process to make sure everything ran smoothly. They worked with all of my vendors to help execute the perfect day. I would recommend this events venue to anyone, you will not regret it and I am still beaming over the best day of my life!

Having our wedding at Dover Hall was amazing from start to finish. From the moment my fiancé and I stepped foot on the grounds, we were welcomed with kindness and support. We worked with Rachel and Stephanie specifically, but I can confidently say that every member of the team made sure that our wedding was exactly what we were hoping for and made the planning process very easy by being open and honest with pricing, incredibly responsive when needed, and unwavering in their support. Our wedding day was flawless. The team executed every detail perfectly from the spaces for us to get ready in throughout the day, the ceremony and reception floor plans, incredible food and stocked bar, and even created a private dinner for my fiancé and I to enjoy while our stationed-style dinner for our guests took place. Our guests were blown away, too. We would not have changed a single thing about our day and cannot recommend Dover Hall more. So professional, organized, and just all around amazing!

Absolutely magical! We were married at Dover Hall at the end of September and are still glowing from the day. We knew we had found our venue from the moment we walked in the door. This venue is stunning in photos but even more unbelievable in person. So much goes into wedding planning but working with Dover Hall made the process so much easier. From our first email to the end of the wedding reception, Dover Hall had nothing but top notch service. A special thank you to Emily and Stephanie for working so closely with us and answering countless emails. We also want to thank Asia and the catering staff at Dover Hall for making our guests truly feel like royalty on our day. The group at Dover Hall worked so hard to personalize the day and made our wedding feel completely unique. If you are getting married in the Richmond area, don't walk: run to Dover Hall!

Our experience here at Dover Hall was spectacular! Our wedding coordinators, Wendy and Rachel were just so pleasant to work with. We honestly don't think we could have asked for better. The level of support and attentiveness was beyond expectations. We haven't even mentioned how STUNNING this venue was. Most of our guests were flabbergasted with it's beauty! From the AMAZING food, by their very best, Chef Leah Randolph and team. If you were looking for a stunning venue, with delicious food, and memorable experience. Look no further, this is the best place to have your event.

The word my wife and I keep using to describe our wedding day was magical. Dover Hall is one of a kind. It exceeded our every expectation. It is so beautiful and immaculately maintained. The team worked so hard both prior to and on our wedding day to make sure every last detail is perfect. While they have multiple weddings every weekend, they make you feel special and prioritized in every thoughtful decision made. The staff are truly professionals, our guests, families, and ourselves loved interacting with them and they were always so pleasant, helpful, and charismatic. The food was absolutely incredible as well and our guests are still talking about it. From the marketing team to the on-site coordinators to the day of staff, every single person we worked with was friendly, accommodating, professional, and wonderful. Looking back on our wedding day, there isn't a single thing we would change and we can't recommend Dover Hall enough!

Dover, wow, we couldn't imagine or ask for a better venue for our wedding. Every single staff member we met was the BEST, so accommodating and would answer any question with a huge smile. Dover Hall is is such an amazing venue and only made better by the staff and service. My wife and I were married here in March 2023 and could not have asked for a better venue. From the moment we toured Dover Hall back in 2022, we knew this would be the place for us. From the beginning, Rachel was such a pleasure to work with and we can't say enough great things about her. As we approached our date, Silvia came on-board and took the lead without hesitation. She was instrumental in organizing all of our details and worked so well with our Planner and the rest of our vendors. The week of the wedding was made so much easier with the help and guidance of both Silvia and Rachel, along with the rest of the Dover Hall staff. Each and every one of them was kind, personable, knowledgeable, and kept our thoughts and wishes at the top of their priority from Day 1. The wedding itself was truly amazing; everything we had dreamed of and more. From the outdoor ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the ballroom reception, all of the logistics of the day were handled and executed flawlessly. The food was absolutely amazing and I cannot understate how many compliments we received from our guests. It only added to the amazing night they helped us pull off; we could not have had the wedding of our dreams without Dover Hall!!!

Dover Hall wants to come across as a luxury high end experience - but they over promise and do not deliver in a variety of ways. The wedding itself is picture perfect. If that matters and you are going for a cocktail attire or less event it might be a good fit. We had a roughly 100-person black-tie event. Our biggest complaint was service. Starting with cocktail hour. We asked prior to the wedding multiple times how many hors d'oeuvre pieces were included in the per person count. We were never given a hard number. We were told they varied dependent on the hors d'oeuvre, but they never run out. The kept promising don’t worry about the number – there is more than enough. We ran out about half way through. Many of my guests stated there were hors d'oeuvres they never saw (most common heard was the lamb). Moving from cocktail hour to the reception they do not assist in moving your guests. My wedding planner was politely trying to move my guests, but it turned into me screaming walking through the first floor for my guests to move to the reception. There was absolutely no one from Dover Hall moving guests. Account this for your timing.Due to this we were already slightly delayed in our start of the dinner reception portion. Dinner service is where the biggest issues were. It was incredibly slow we ended up about at least an hour behind schedule due to slow service. It took so long between courses and delivery of courses that my guests were getting up to mingle with others. I was able to great every table and chat some between our amuse bouche and salad course. I ended up going to the kitchen to ask where the salad was. We never sped up. Guests dietary restrictions were not followed in the details where they were sitting. We had certain color cups to be used at inner vs outer tables that were put in the notes – they were put anywhere. We had to roll out speeches while main entrees were still being served we were so behind and they took forever to bring out each course. We asked the best woman be served immediately so she could eat before speaking in 10 min, it came out 10 min later. The bread and butter that they raved about that was included was not given to us. It dawned at me at the end of the meal. I asked guests if it had been on their table and maybe our head table was over looked – it wasn’t. My husband and I weren’t served first which I thought was odd – but that’s now just picking things apart. Another part on the details – we had asked how staff would be dressed. We were told they wore slacks with a button down and burgundy tie. We asked if we got bow ties if they could wear these instead. We were told yes. Uniformity for a black tie event was important to us. Well, most servers were dressed for a cocktail party and not in the uniform. I did not ask how the security was dressed and wish I had. One looked like a wedding crasher hanging out at the bar with sunglasses on his head, I almost went and asked him who he was. The other was in a powder blue suit and stuck out like a sore thumb. This is why if you are looking for a formal reception I believe they are not a good fit. If you are less about small details and cocktail attire or less, it may be an appropriate venue – if they can get timing right. But at this point I would not recommend them as a venue.

They went over and beyond to make everything perfect and but they way I wanted it !!!!! This is the best place to get married in Richmond hands down !!!!! I planned my wedding for 2 years and look at almost every location in the Richmond area and this place is beyond fantastic!

Dover Hall is the one and only venue for your wedding! It was the only venue my husband and I saw in person, and we knew it was the perfect place for our special day. I could go on and on about the best day of my life, but I truly want to thank everyone at Dover Hall for making it amazing! We booked over a year in advance for planning, and the entire time was full of communication from Dover staff! They did change representatives a few times (given that it was a year plus away), but all of them (from Allie -> Miranda -> Larissa -> Stephanie) were superb at their jobs! Thank you all at Dover Hall for making it so special for our day, and we plan on visiting in person again when you all have public events!

What I love most about this venue are the people and attention to detail. The team goes above and beyond to make your day incredible. Everyone is so detail oriented and truly make you feel special. We manly worked with Rachel and Silvia who got to know me and my husband very well over our short engagement. I never felt like I was nickel and dimed over cost and they always wanted us to feel special and to choose details that meant the most to us. Our day was incredible and I am so appreciative of everything Dover Hall and their staff did for us. Thank you guys so much <3

I do not even know where to start when it comes to describing the unreal magic that is Dover Hall. I will start by saying my husband and I originally booked a castle in Ireland for our wedding venue, however with the pandemic we had to cancel that. Insert finding Dover Hall Estate which is even BETTER than a castle in Ireland and I truly mean that. Whats amazing about Dover is that it has such grandeur yet the staff is just so down to earth and kind. You would almost be intimidated to book a venue as lux as this however when dealing with the team at Dover you are almost dealing with family. When we did the tour we even met one of the owners and he was just the most kind and down to earth gentleman there ever was. I joke with family that Dover Hall is an airbnb on steroids in that you can actually treat it like your home which is unheard of for a place this nice. You would expect everything to be roped off and that you and your guest really would be confined to a small space but it is like you own the estate for the night. We chose to stay at Dover the night of our wedding and rent the rooms that were available for our closet family and friends and that really was the cherry on top of the cake. The mechanics of choosing Dover for your special event is also so simple! Everything is in house and is top notch. I was told the filet at our wedding was the best filet our guest had ever had. The food was delicious! Dover was so accommodating and flexible given all the uncertainties and craziness with getting married during a pandemic, the staff is truly best in class. We worked closely with Madison and she is an absolute gem. I will also note we booked our rehearsal dinner at their sister property bartizan and that really blew us and our guest away and really kicked the wedding weekend off in a very special way. The whole experience was dreamy and stress-free I am so happy that our Ireland wedding got canceled and we got married at Dover Hall Estate.

We had the most beautiful NYE wedding at Dover Hall. The staff were professional and courteous. The food was amazing, we had many compliments on how great everything was. Miranda in particular was so helpful and accommodating as Omicron impacted our guest list. She helped us navigate any changes needed. As a bride it was just such a relief to know the team had our backs and we could relax and enjoy the day. Not only is the staff great but it is just so beautiful there. We just loved it.

Miranda was great, responsive, personable, and awesome to work with. They were super accommodating to any request we had which made our wedding day truly feel like ours. This venue is on the higher end but you really do get what you pay for. Couldn't recommend them enough!

We got married at Dover Hall on 1/16/22. Dover Hall is an absolutely exceptional venue from the beauty of it to the experience their team provides couples. They say you get what you pay for and that is definitely true with this venue. It is on the pricier side of Richmond venues but absolutely worth every penny. A couple highlights -- The Food - Hands down best food I’ve ever had at a wedding, and so many of our guests commented on it. The tasting was such a cool experience - You can bring two additional guests to the tasting and take them on the tour of the house. The staff - Their Director of Sales, Miranda, was amazing to work with from day 1 of touring through the wedding. They were slammed in 2021 with 3 weddings every weekend, but she still made us feel like a priority and did a great job of staying connected with us and our coordinator. We also had a unique experience that makes me appreciate the venue even more. The weather forecast was calling for a significant snowstorm the day of our wedding and Miranda set up a call with one of the owners, Jeff, a few days before to talk through options. They were incredibly flexible and accommodating. We had the option to move our wedding to a new date as late as 2 days before the wedding at no cost. We luckily were able to have the wedding but that flexibility with an event contract is very rare!- Every space is stunning - You aren’t just getting a beautiful ceremony or reception space. You get a huge, stunning bridal suite to get ready in, and so many different spots for photos. The cocktail hour can be throughout the house which is a cool experience for guests. Highly recommend Dover particularly for winter brides doing everything inside - they fit up to 150. Overall, the space speaks for itself, so worth putting your budget toward the venue and less toward decor!

Dover Hall was amazing! Miranda is incredibly knowledgeable and had amazing ideas to make our wedding spectacular. The entire staff made us feel like a priority and helped us plan every detail of our day. All our guests were floored by a) how beautiful every part of the venue is, and b) how delicious the food was (even four months later my husband can’t stop talking about the food)! Dover Hall is absolutely worth every penny, and we’re so glad we worked with them.

Our wedding was an absolute dream! We knew Dover Hall was the one when we went on the initial tour with Miranda. She was personable and professional from the beginning and answered our many questions. Our tasting experience was wonderful with Miranda and Melanie - all the dishes arranged by Chef Lee were delightful and it felt like you were having a meal in a cozy restaurant. It is clear the entire staff is experienced and knowledgeable about every aspect of the venue, and if there were any questions they couldn't address right away they were quick to follow-up afterwards. We booked Dover Hall and planned for our celebration for about two years, and in that time COVID hit with full force which made us reassess our vision for our celebrations. Miranda and Melanie were very responsive as we communicated concerns with safety and rescheduling. To be transparent, there were many email correspondences as Dover Hall adapted to this new situation, and in the beginning it was a bit of a challenge to figure out the best solution. We ultimately decided to have an intimate celebration with our immediate family and bridal party and Dover Hall was happy to accommodate these changes. We were worried Dover Hall would feel overwhelming for such a small party, but the feedback was the complete opposite. Everyone's jaw dropped when they saw the venue in person and explored the different parts of the estate throughout the day. Our parents loved the setting and atmosphere, our guests raved about the food, and everyone was on the dance floor by the end of the night. A consistent comment we received from our guests was the excellent service Dover Hall provided. From the beginning, one of our priorities for our wedding celebration was to make sure our guests felt welcomed. The attentive and professional staff made this goal a breeze. We are so happy to have celebrated with our loved ones despite a year of uncertainties, and we are so grateful to have worked with Dover Hall and the amazing staff to make it happen. We wouldn't have it any other way!

Dover Hall was a wonderful choice for our wedding venue. As a New Yorker I am used to the all-inclusive style of event planning where the venue provides most of what is needed. Dover Hall made our wedding a dream come true. Everyone who works at Dover Hall is committed to ensuring your wedding day is perfect. Melinda and Melanie were our main points of contact. With full disclosure, there were some bumps in the road with planning and miscommunication, but we were able to work together, and they professionally solved and addressed any issues. The owners are truly fantastic and everyone at Dover Hall is caring. On our wedding day we felt their kindness and care for us. Chef Lee is a genius!! He is the man that you want to create a beautiful menu. From the canapes to the main course, Chef Lee delivered and then some. He was able to take my West-Indian and South Indian background and fuse some elements into our wedding day food and it made my family so happy to see that. The grounds of Dover Hall are beautifully manicured and the perfect place to have your wedding ceremony and reception. The bridal suite is the most beautiful and largest one I have ever been in and provides more than enough room for the bridal party plus mothers and sisters. Whenever I think of our wedding day it fills me with joy. Dover Hall is a fantastic wedding venue, with an interesting history, and you want to chose it for your wedding venue. Dover Hall is everything you could ever dream of. Leaving the estate after our wedding weekend, I cried my eyes out knowing it was all over. There are no other words to describe Dover Hall other than perfect. If you have any hesitations about booking Dover Hall for your big day, don’t. It will be the absolute best way for you to make your wedding day everything you hoped for and more. From our first tour of Dover Hall, we were captivated by the beauty of everything this estate has to offer. We could clearly see that we could have the most beautiful setting for our wedding at Dover Hall, but it has so much more to offer than the incredible architecture you see before your eyes. The staff went above and beyond to fulfill every request we had and make our big day and wedding weekend special for us. Miranda, Melanie, and Nadia are just some of the few amazing people of the team that helped make our wedding day go perfectly. Chef Lee made the most delicious food starting with our tasting, to our rehearsal dinner, to the wedding, and post wedding brunch. We were in food heaven and I wish I could go back and eat it all over and over again. I am looking forward to the day when my husband and I go back to Dover Hall to stay at the amazing estate again, this time for our anniversary. We just know that the Dover Hall team will treat us as wonderfully as they did for our wedding.

The very best!Oh wow, where do I start? Dover Hall was our first and only choice for our wedding venue. We were drawn to the space for so many reasons; the warm and cozy space for our winter wedding, the elegance, the superior staff, outstanding food, and the indoor capacity but we were surprised to find our expectations not only met but surpassed in every way. As a wedding photographer, I knew that a venue could be stunning but without exceptional service, a wedding day struggles to feel special for the couple, vendors and staff. I had photographed a wedding at Dover Hall a few years prior to our wedding and my experience as a vendor had me sold. As a photographer, they made my experience outstanding, provided the best food and made sure I felt comfortable, all to ensure that the couple we were serving had the very best day. When choosing Dover for our own wedding venue, we knew that if they treated vendors in this way, the experience as a couple would be something special. From the day of booking to our New Year's Eve wedding, Melanie and Miranda's constant encouragement, structure, and professionalism was a grounding place for us throughout the whole planning process. On the wedding day, Miranda, Melanie, Nadia, Chef Lee and the whole staff worked overtime to fill in gaps, make sure the day ran smoothly and in the end were intricate parts in creating the very best day for us. We cannot thank them enough. We love Dover Hall and recommend it to everyone!

Where do I even begin!? I recently got married at Dover Hall Estate and let me just tell you, it was hands down the best day of my life! Our wedding was truly like something out of a fairytale.My husband and I live in Northern California with no ties to Virginia, so this was a destination wedding for all. California has some amazing venues but we were looking for something with a grand European vibe and ideally wanted to be able to stay overnight at the venue. Dover Hall checked all of our boxes so we booked it site unseen and we are SO GLAD we did! Not to mention, the views alone were breathtaking, even better in person!The incredible people who make this venue come to life deserve an award. We grew to love Miranda and Melanie who were amazing throughout the entire process and made each step seem like a breeze. They recommended several vendors which we ended up working with Alana, from Chancey Charm and Casey from Cultivate Event Co. both of which I would also highly recommend as everyone had such great chemistry with the Dover Hall gals and made us feel at home. Chef Lee and Nadia also played a significant role. Chef Lee not only prepared our reception dinner but our rehearsal dinner as well.. and let’s just say, people are still raving about the food! WOW, where to start? Well, this venue definitely costs a fortune for a reason. Everything was beyond my expectations and made it extremely easy for me to enjoy my day and not worry about doing anything myself. The food was IMPECCABLE. All the staff were super helpful and considerate. They accommodated any request I had to meet and see the venue for different things, they handled all the moving set up and break down, which was a huge blessing for me and the wedding party. I think the only thing that was below my expectations was that they doubled booked my wedding night with another party and did not tell me before hand. So, it was great that I didn't worry about it the night of my wedding, but it was disappointing to hear from my wedding guests after the honeymoon that they could not see the library or billards room during the cocktail hour like we thought because another party had it blocked off. That's the only reason it wasn't 5 star... I really do love everything about this place, I just wish they would have been more clear that my wedding guests we're not going to be able to see some of the rooms in the house. Make sure you communicate all your expectations and they will work with them! That's just one thing we did not talk about and I guessed they assumed I was okay with it and I assumed they would have it open for us. Small mistake overall, everything else was beyond perfect! Special thanks to Natalie and Melanie, they were the ABSOLUTE BEST!

The experience that Dover Hall and it’s staff provided us, both on our wedding day and leading up to it, was absolutely phenomenal. We met Miranda on our first day touring the property. Not only was she personable and friendly, but she was extremely knowledgeable about both the accommodations of the venue and the wedding industry as a whole. She helped to answer our many questions, work to find a package that fit our needs and budget, and made us feel confident in all of the many details that go into the planning process. Her teammate Melanie was equally knowledgeable and helpful, and she was a tremendous resource for day and week of details. Between them, the ownership team who was often visible, and the incredible Chef Lee, we constantly felt like our wedding was the most important event of the year to them. The venue itself was second to none. From the drive down the path to the estate, to the incredibly magnificent detail in every room, to the gardens and lawn out back, you’d be hard pressed to find another location like this. The wedding parties were able to enjoy the bridal suite and the “groomsmen rooms” all day before the wedding. Drinks and delicious snacks were provided and enjoyed as we relaxed our way to getting ready and the ceremony. The reflecting pool/lawn out back provided a wonderful scene for the wedding party and guests to enjoy the ceremony. After that, guests were able to tour the property, enjoying all of the rooms, patios, and magnificent sunset. The ballroom and tent provided plenty of space for us to enjoy dinner then dancing later on. Bars were plentiful and bar staff was both friendly and helpful. We received so many compliments from friends and family on everything from the evening. It truly was the perfect night, and we’ll remember it forever. Thank you to all of the Dover Hall staff for making it so special for us!

WOW! The minute I pulled up to Dover Hall I said to myself this is where I am going to get married! We did not check out any other venues. Dover hall is breathtaking. We knew this was the perfect location for the wedding of our dreams! On top of how gorgeous Dover Hall is, the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. I felt like they went beyond their roles helping us and making our day perfect. Our wedding theme was glitz and cinderella, meet Slovakia with a touch of Scotland. And our wedding day was filled beyond the max. Thank you Dover Hall team! I want to repeat 9/28/19 all over again! My wedding was definitely the BEST, most memorable, and most FUN wedding I have been too. :)

Throughout our tours of possible wedding locales, we visited a myriad of different types of places; winery, museums, country clubs, and garden spaces. None of the sites we visited holds a candle to Dover Hall.As you drive down the driveway towards Dover Hall, you are immediately awestruck by its presence and beauty; it indeed looks like something out of a movie.The best part? The Dover Hall team is just as amazing! They were a joy to work with every step of the way and made life easier on our wedding planner!We cannot recommend Dover Hall enough. Our wedding was absolutely a dream come true because of Dover Hall. The venue itself is a castle - every single guest gasped when they saw it from the outside, and walked through the gorgeously decorated rooms in awe. The staff also made the planning experience for me as a bride easy and seamless. Miranda, Melanie, and the whole team were incredibly kind, organized, accommodating, creative, and helpful. The chef and catering that Dover has was also one of the top things my guests raved about — every single appetizer and course were delectable. The bridal suite and the grooms suite were so unique and breathtaking to spend the day in as well. I would absolutely recommend this venue and all it entails to anyone! I don’t know where to begin with expressing my gratitude and appreciation of the Dover Hall team, but I think it is fair to start by saying that from wedding planning to the actual day, all my expectations were exceeded. My husband and I toured several venues in the Virginia area looking for the right aesthetic, wedding package options, top-notch menus, and an involved staff. As soon as we toured Dover Hall the remaining scheduled venue tours were cancelled because we knew immediately that we found our dream venue. I highly recommend staying the night over a wedding weekend to take full advantage of the estate. There is so much to explore and see! We would like to thank the team for their time, energy, and patience that they devoted to us. While Dover Hall was coordinating wedding and events for other clients, it always felt as though we were their top priority. Miranda was incredible at communicating over e-mail, answering any and all questions we had, and making suggestions to enhance our theme/vision. Melanie was a super-star assisting with day-of help and making sure our guests had a great experience – not to mention helping execute a wedding gift surprise during the reception. And to Chef Lee, we still dream about your gnocchi and gorgeous plating – everything was perfection!

Not only is the venue itself an amazing and decadent landscape, but the entire team was extremely helpful, professional, and top notch. They made us, our families, and our guests feel right at home from start to finish!From the gorgeous venue (inside and out), to the incredible food, we were beyond impressed with their careful and streamlined process. We were facing a heat wave and were able to adjust our outdoor ceremony to inside. Dover Hall had the flexibility to make those changes with ease and thoughtful care and within a day's notice. The whole time, we knew we were in great hands. Our guests loved exploring all that Dover Hall had to offer during our wedding and cocktail hour, and we continue to hear great things from them about the food and service, which we already knew were outstanding. We were also so grateful for Miranda, Melanie, and Chad. Their hospitality, responsiveness, expertise, and overall kindness are things that we will never forget—we will continue to sing their praises. They were the dream team and their collaboration with our wedding coordinator and vendors was incredibly seamless. They—along with the entire DH staff—work so hard to make sure each guest is taken care of and having a great time. We felt so supported! Where do I even begin???!! Chef Lee’s amazing food? The unbelievable hospitality from the Dover Hall team? The natural beauty and sophisticatedly elegant aura that the estate gives off the second you drive down the long winding driveway? Safe to say, our wedding at Dover Hall exceeded all expectations!Driving up the long driveway, looking at the beautiful greenery and castle-like home, you can’t help but feel in love. When my wife and I (still getting used to saying that) stepped inside, we couldn’t believe what we saw. All the furniture inside was imported from various parts of Europe which gives off an elegant feel, and every room had a personality of its own. Whether it’s the library where my wife and I sat and played chess one morning, the billiard room where our wedding party spent the night before our wedding hanging out and playing cards or the garden where we exchanged vows, you will always find a room or location at Dover Hall for any and every occasion… not to mention, you’ll feel like you’re royalty.Now, with a venue as beautiful and elegant as Dover Hall, we couldn’t help but wonder what restrictions we would have. But we were pleasantly surprised when the Dover Hall team (Miranda, Melanie and Nadia) helped make all of our dreams come true! They’re some of the nicest and most talented individuals you will ever meet (along with our awesome Wedding Planner Kate from Glint Events) and they did everything to make our wedding weekend as perfect as Dover Hall. It was also super helpful having our vendors Dover Hall, Glint Events and Alex Tenser Photos all know one another and the venue extremely well, it was a perfect team and match, and they’re the true experts at doing weddings at Dover Hall! Everything was flawless.Also, if you’re like my wife and can’t help but imagine Hogwarts when you look at Dover Hall (yes, my wife is a huge Harry Potter nerd), you won’t be disappointed! Since our theme was elegant and classy, we used the scenery of Dover Hall and incorporated a few small Harry Potter accents (with the help of Glint Events) to share our personalities with our wedding guests, which they loved!We made our wedding a destination wedding solely because of Dover Hall. We made our families and friends travel and trust me they were not disappointed in the slightest. Miranda, Melanie and the rest of the crew made it super easy for us even though we live about 2 hours away and work full-time in very demanding jobs.We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at Dover Hall and stayed there for the weekend with our groomsmen and bridesmaids. And don’t worry, if you have a big wedding party, the Dover Hall team will organize it so that everyone can stay at the estate. We comfortably fit over 20 guests including ourselves. We were treated like royalty. Nadia and the rest of the on-site crew were unbelievable and very nice. Chef Lee cooked for us all weekend, and I don’t think I am exaggerating at all when I say that I think Lee should be a contestant on MasterChef cooking for Gordon Ramsay. He is that good. Our wedding was over a month ago, and we still can’t go a week without someone saying “hey remember the food at your wedding?”.I could write about Dover Hall and the people there all day honestly, but I should probably stop soon! I will end with this: If you are thinking about getting married at Dover Hall and have any doubts at all, just go see it, go meet the people and you will definitely not regret it!

A one-of-a-kind venue, with world class customer service. As a wedding vendor based in the area, I have worked at many \"luxury\" venues that are nice in appearance but totally lack in the experience department. Dover Hall, however, is the real deal. From our first contact with them, and then every step along the journey to our wedding day, The Dover Hall team absolutely blew us away with their dedication to excellence. The entire staff is nothing short of amazing. The owners of the venue, Chad, and Jeff personally ensured the quality of every aspect of our wedding and treated my wife and I both like family and made us feel so relaxed on the actual day. Miranda and Jamie were both super knowledgable about the rich history of the venue and were incredibly accommodating to any and all needs we had for the wedding. As if the customer service wasn't enough, the property itself is truly one of a kind with priceless paintings and lavish furniture you simply do not find unless you are in the presence of royalty. The entire venue was rented to us for the whole weekend which meant there wasn't a bunch of random people we didn't know walking around that aren't attending the wedding (I see this at a lot of Virginia venues). The memories we made with family and friends being able to sleep in this one-of-a-kind house are priceless and honestly one of the biggest selling points of this venue. Last but not least, the head chef Lee created the absolute best food I have ever tasted. The food and catering is truly exceptional and it had all of our guest raving for days. I could write a whole novel about how amazing our experience was, but I will sum it up by saying if you're looking for a venue in Virginia and want an unparalleled experience from the top to bottom, stop your search now and book Dover. Thank you to everyone on the Dover Hall team for making our wedding day even better than we could have ever imagined. I would rate them 10 stars if I could. My husband and I had the most incredible wedding at Dover Hall. However, the months leading up the event we weren't quite sure what to expect. There were some red flags from day one but I think we were at an unfortunate time between old management and new management taking over. They have since brought on new team members and I believe are in a better place but I'd still recommend hiring a full-service wedding planner, double checking everything, and getting anything promised in writing.One of my biggest concerns was the food, I wanted it to be unforgettable and Chef Lee made it happen. Everything was delicious and he even made me a special plate when the waiters kept clearing my plate while I was dancing. He truly went above and beyond all weekend to make sure I was happy.If you have the opportunity, take advantage of staying there for the weekend. We had so much fun hanging out, swimming and Jamie (who manages the estate) was incredible.One of the selling points was that it is now a b&b and they have events open to the public. We cant wait to go back and reminisce for years to come.

After my husband and I first toured Dover Hall with Miranda (wedding coordinator at Dover), we knew we had to get married there. It was truly magical. From the very beginning, Miranda was extremely helpful and accommodating. Any random questions we thought of throughout the months leading up to the wedding, she was quick to respond to and always relieved any wedding planning stress we had. One aspect of a wedding venue that was critical to us was a back up plan that we would be happy with in case of inclement weather. With Dover, the inside option for the ceremony is just as beautiful as the outside options. Rain or shine, we would’ve been extremely happy with the ceremony location. Also, the staff was extremely personable and made us feel relaxed the entire day. Lastly, the food was amazing! The chef at Dover is incredibly talented and we received many compliments on how great the food was at the reception. All in all, everything about the venue was perfect - thank you Dover Hall for making our wedding day so special!

Dover Hall hosted my bridal party and immediate family for the entire weekend, providing a space for the rehearsal dinner, wedding AND reception. They have changed management and are very invested in providing quality service. I really enjoyed Miranda (wedding coordinator through Dover) and her initiative to find solutions. The space is incredible, the food is fantastic, and the bedrooms are so much fun. If I could do it again, I would absolutely choose Dover! This is a GEM in Richmond.

Looking for a all-inclusive, fairytale wedding? Book Dover Hall! A hidden gem in Richmond. Even at first glance, the landscape and the house itself is straight out of Europe, and makes you feel like a royal just driving down the driveway. The staff and coordinators couldn't be any more knowledgeable, organized, oh-so-kind, and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. The kitchen and Chef Lee, has taken the food/drink offerings of Dover Hall to a 5 star restaurant quality! Our tasting was probably just as fun as our actual wedding. They had the presentation down perfect, created custom cocktails for us right on the spot, and had all the examples of table set ups for us to easily choose. The day before our wedding we had to make a decision to move our ceremony inside (vs out on the blue-stone terrace) and they made me and my planner, feel so comfortable with our decision, and honestly it worked out for the best! The inside of Dover is truly remarkable and so unique for the Richmond area. Where can you find a ball room in Richmond that makes you feel like Belle in Beauty in the Beast!? OH and for getting ready, the bridal suite is glamorous and regal - just how it should be on your wedding day! The HMU stylists had their own area to set up with plenty of space for us girls to run around, and be goofy without bothering their master work. It's been 3 months since our special day and I keep telling my family that I would like to repeat that day over, and over again. Our guests have been saying it was the best wedding they ever have been too - It was absolutely PERFECT. and I strive for perfection, so I know!!

\"That was the best wedding in the most beautiful place EVER.\" That is a direct quote from more that one of our guests at my daughter's wedding in June. From our first visit 6 months before the big day to the day itself, everything went smoothly and was handled professionally by the staff and chef. It was a dream come true for the bride -- definitely 5 stars!It was amazing to have all of the house available to us beginning at 11:00 am. The dressing area for the wedding party was spacious and a perfect setting for makeup and hair. Lots of light. There is a wonderful background for pictures of \"getting ready.\" We had hoped to take advantage of the gorgeous outdoor setting but the weather was iffy so we make the decision to move the ceremony inside. The transition from ceremony to reception was flawless. Our guests enjoyed wandering the first floor of the house and being served delicious passed appetizers.It was a spectacular day and nothing disappointed.

From the moment my now husband, and I laid eyes on each other, we knew that we would be each other's happy ending! Now, fast forward 8yrs and after being surprised in the most magical way with a surreal proposal, it was time to plan our big day! Since coincidentally our 10yr anniversary fell on a Saturday in 2017, what better way to mark the start of our new chapter then by having our wedding on that date, and so the date was set!After our initial venue falling through, and only 5 months left till the wedding, we didn't know what we would do. Due to our wedding theme being Elegant Royal Victorian, we needed a venue that would fit it. We then came across Dover Hall, and were instantly mesmerized by its enchanting beauty. After a quick call to see if our date was available, we made an appointment to go visit. We met with the event coordinator Peggy who was incredibly cordial, and we signed the contract that same day! We have so many wonderful things to say about Dover Hall, and its staff, that this review would end up being about 20 pages long! The venue is simply incredible, and it's pictures don't do it justice. The high level of professionalism and expertise the entire staff offers the couple, really allows the them to just sit back for a bit, and enjoy the planning process. Our wedding day was referred to as our fairytale royal wedding! We could not have asked for a more perfect venue, and for better qualified professionals. Our daughter was married at the Dover Hall Estate on June 30th. We had planned for an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. With the weather, we decided on indoor all the way. Our guests were completely wowed upon arrival at the Venue! The lower and main floors were open for our guests to explore, and they did! We also had high tops set up outside and once the sun went down many guests took advantage of this space. The ceremony was held in the Ballroom. It was perfect! It’s quite a dramatic entrance for the bride down the staircase. We had a guitarist set up upstairs by the stairs and the music filled the space. Afterwards our guests were brought upstairs as staff at DH transformed the ballroom into a reception space. We were also taking formal pictures at the same time! The staff worked in perfect precision and were done within 30 minutes. Our guests enjoyed themselves upstairs while this all went on. We could not be happier with DH and their team who worked in perfect harmony with each other! It was a truly magical spot to have a wedding and reception. We chose a mainly vegan menu and the Chef and his team did not disappoint! The food was outstanding! My daughter said the wedding was exactly what she had dreamed of! We would not hesitate to recommend the venue to anyone looking for a special wedding site. Peggy and Miranda at DH were professional and great to work with.

If I could give over a 1,000 star rating I would! After getting the news that our wedding venue canceled on us just months before our wedding, Dover Hall came to the rescue. After our wedding planner reached out and they heard about the situation they welcomed up with open arms and even price matched with our other venue! I was in complete tears from their kindness! My husband and I both work in the wedding industry and value customer service so much, and they were BEYOND AMAZING in every. single. way. I could not give you one complaint! From the coordinator Miranda, to the owners, to the chef to all the staff members, we felt like family with them. I could not have imagined a more perfect place or day for our wedding. Dover Hall truly is an amazing venue and the people behind it value their couples and families and make them a top priority in every way. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Dover Hall for all that you've done for us, we couldn't have had a more perfect day!

Dover Hall is an absolutely stunning setting. My daughter had a wedding event last week and one of the owners, Jeff, and events manager, Eileen, could not have been kinder or more helpful- truly taking care of RVA bridal parties. The grand hall, the staircases, and the bride’s dressing room were all fantastic. The bride’s dressing room was large and airy with large windows, mirrors and chandelier – definitely a setting to excite a bride and set a princess mood. One of the bedrooms has a window seat with white and golden pillows that is beautiful for pictures. The pastoral landscape is inspiring and beautiful. I do not mean to go on too long, but I have also been a corporate officer and could picture a productive and fun retreat in this setting so close to Richmond yet removed from day to day. A cozy bar area, breakout rooms (I would want the windowed ‘conservatory’ for my team…) and the wide outdoors for games would be terrific. Just cannot say enough thanks to the management staff for the great event they gave us.

I had a date confirmed with Dover Hall (Oct 7). There were unexplained delays in sending us the contract. We learned that the company that organized the events left (without bothering to tell the couples until weeks later). Dover Hall's owners also sold/is selling to new owners. We were told to wait for our contract until a new management company was brought in (apparently the old one is going bankrupt). So we waited and waited, only to be told the new owners would not honor the lower rental fee quoted to us originally. We were forced to start from scratch with a new venue and date because of the delays and poor customer service at Dover Hall.

I could not have been happier with all of the services that Dover Hall provides. They took care of everything the day of the wedding. Everything went off without any problems. A day and evening full of memories and beautiful pictures that will last forever.\r\rYou do not need to spend much on decorations at Dover Hall. It is a beautiful venue and just some flowers are enough. If you over do it takes away from the beauty of the architecture.

There are few venues like Dover Hall in greater Richmond, it is a wonderful setting. However, the staff of Dover Hall are pretentious and act like they are doing you a favor by letting you have your wedding there. They were very nice leading up to the event, but the day of they seemed like they didn't even want to have people in the house and made several rude comments to guests of the wedding.

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Dover Hall. Everything came together so beautifully and the entire staff went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. The whole day was stress free because we knew all the little details were being handled for us. \r\r\rEvery detail exceeded our expectations and we would do it all over again if we could!
