The Nautilus Ballroom at the Downtown Aquarium is the most unique and spectacular venue in town. Artfully hand-painted ceilings, beaded chandeliers, velvet nautilus-shell chairs, and velvet beaded drapes wrap your guests in elegance. Spanning over 6,000 square feet, the ballroom can accommodate up to 450 guests in a lavish wedding reception. The Downtown Aquarium went above and beyond to exceed our expectations for our formal engagement party! Mary Alice did a fantastic job putting the party together and patiently working wit us. She kept in contact with us throughout all of the party planning and made sure everything was ready to go the day of the party. We would highly recommend working with Mary Alice at the downtown aquarium for your party!

Best Wedding Venue Ever! This review is long overdue! My husband and I got married and held our reception in the Nautilus Ballroom of the Downtown Aquarium and the experience was nothing short of Amazing! Mary Alice is wonderful! We worked with her through our planning process and she went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. The staff was great and made sure our guests were well taken care of. The food and drinks were delicious, and the venue is beautiful!I highly recommend the Downtown Aquarium for couples looking to have a truly unique and beautiful wedding with a great team of people.

Best Wedding Venue Ever! This review is long overdue! It was a very beautiful venue, we had sit down dinner, and guests said food was really good. We used their standard table cover, and the chairs were cute looking, so I didn't use the chair cover, which saved us a lot of money. We also did the private aquarium tour during cocktail hours. But when the private tour started, they didn't clear the general public people (we paid $3000 for the PRIVATE tour), the d'Oeuvres wasn't ready, so few of the guests went back up to the banquet hall without being served, and the outside people were able to drink our alcohol and food. We complaint to the manager he gave us a discount. The waiter and waitress were very nice and professional. The banquet coordinator was very nice, however, she promised a discount on certain items, but it didn't include them when the final bill came, luckily we had them written in the contract when we paid our deposit, we were able to pay what we agreed on. The coordinator asked us to pay our final bill at around 9pm during the reception. (lot of guests left without saying goodbye to us, and I felt guilty for that). Otherwise, everything was beautiful, but they could do a much better job organizing the event and the flow. Make sure you have your wedding planner get every details covered, and have everything written down in paper before signing the contract.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank Mrs. Mary Alice Falcon and her staff for everything that they did for our wedding. It was absolutely perfect, beyond what we could have imagined. I can honestly say that our day would not have been as wonderful without her and her staff. The venue was absolutely beautiful and just what I had imagined for our wonderful day. The set-up was perfect, and each detail was exactly what I had asked for. This whole experience has been stressful for me due to having to communicate through email and voicemails because I lived out of town from our wedding location. However, after deciding upon the Downtown Aquarium, my mind was at ease and everything became easier all because of Mrs. Mary Alice. Her professionalism, reliability, timeliness, and attention to detail are what made our day go off with a bang and without any problems. Words cannot describe how amazing it was to have her working with us on our big day. After researching many venues in Houston, the Downtown Aquarium was the least expensive but had the most to offer. The catering was on-site, and they recommended many vendors for us to choose from for our big day. They also gave us recommendations on nearby hotels for our room blocks and advice on certain details that we were unsure about. She coordinated with our other vendors so that we didn't have to and acted as our wedding coordinator without the cost of hiring one. If I could do it all again, I would pick the Downtown Aquarium just for their hardworking staff and of course the beautiful downtown skyline when night sets in.

I really love the food and the displace in the downtown Aquarium. Food is awesome and the venue is grand. Although it can only hold 200 people max, it is a great place to have your wedding here!! My guest are impressed by the place and the food. The kids enjoy the rides and exhibit in the Aquarium. Highly recommend this place for the great value with the price.

The 3rd floor ballroom is beautiful! In the evening, the view of the downtown skyline is dramatic and unique. The staff were very, very attentive to us the whole night. Only issue we had was with the gumbo...tasted burned and after the event, were simply offered an apology and we'll talk to catering. I felt something more should have been done.

I have to admit, having my wedding ceremony and reception here was awesome and convenient. My whole family, hispanic meaning large, was able to fit! There is plenty room for a large wedding like mine. The service was exceptionally great! The place itself is gorgeous and I hardly had to decorate to due the ornateness of it all. The only thing holding me back from 5 over all star rating is the arrangement of the dance floor, it made sense for my wedding but in the end I felt my tables were split by it. AGAIN, this place was WONDERFUL!

all in one location -- wedding and reception;make sure you have specific instructions about the clean up process (leftover favors flowers cake....) Most of our stuff was discarded or taken away because we didn't specify that we wanted the leftovers.

Price packages were reasonable. Personal attention from Aquarium's event planner. The ballroom is very beautiful but has neutral colors so there was not a need for additional decorations.;My experience was wonderful. Do your homework on different places to get comparisons.

I loved everything about the ballroom where my reception was held. The room had was full of character and had a breathtaking view of downtown. The ferris wheel lit up the night. The people were amazing as well. They were on top of there everything;More time! I had a evening wedding and my ceremony ran a little late. I wish we could have started the cermony earlier or end the reception later.
