Jason and his team were amazing! He answered emails immediately and was instrumental in making this wedding perfect. Harry and the reception team were very attentive and no details were missed. The food was delicious with so many options. The views of the water and the reception space are breathtaking and they have several options for the location of the ceremony. I cannot recommend this venue and Jason enough!

Words truly cannot describe how incredible our experience was with Jason and his Dunes West team. Wow, wow, wow, wow - it was a night we will never forget! The food was OUTSTANDING, service was top notch, and you can't beat the views/scenery. If you're looking for a venue, search no further! If I could redo this night, I honestly wouldn't change a thing it was that well organized and orchestrated.

Jason was amazing!!! We planned our wedding from out of state and Jason made the process so easy and stress free! The day was perfect and our reception was even better than imagined. Jason at Dunes West helped my daughter and her husband plan their wedding on June 17th. The venue is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Jason was very responsive and open to our ideas. From the beautiful ceremony under the oak, to cocktail hour in the outdoor green space, the exceptional food…we couldn’t ask for anything better. It was absolutely perfect. I would recommend Dunes West without hesitation. Thank you Jason and his team!

Jason is AMAZING! I will never be able to speak highly enough of how amazing Jason and his team at Dunes West are. Jason and his team made sure my husband and I were fed while also following our timeline and allowing wiggle room where needed. It poured on our wedding day which put a hiccup in our timeline and Jason was so gracious working with us. The food was incredible and so were the drinks. The entire time, Jason worked closely with us to ensure that our wedding day was exactly how we wanted it to be. Plus, Dunes West is stunning to begin with!

Jason and his team at Dunes West did an amazing job in making our special day even more special. What really stands out about Jason and his team is his experience in the space, which allows him to quickly answer any questions about pricing, timing, feasibility, and anything else related to the venue, bar service, or kitchen. Another great thing about Jason is his dedication to making things happen. We had a few requests that are definitely outside of the norm, and Jason was able to talk them out with us about what he would be able to do to make them happen. All in all, this was an amazing day and we're so lucky for the Dunes West Team taking such great care of us and our guests.Thank you!

Jason made the entire wedding process seamless and felt like a good friend by the time our wedding came around. Every question was answered, every desire came to fruition- even our out or the box request for an exit- he made it happen!The guests raved about how beautiful the scene was, the indoor and outdoor space, and the food.We were also able to rent the space as long as we wanted (you pay for additional hours, but the fact that we weren’t kicked out at 10 pm really aligned with the type of celebration we were going for). No negative comments to make about Dunes West. It was wonderful and we couldn’t ask for a better setting and staff to make our wedding day as enjoyable as it was.

Updating this review after speaking with Jason, the Food and Beverage Director, who personally reached out in response to some of the concerns that I had from my wedding day.I said it initially, and I'll say it again, Jason Hanson was incredibly wonderful to work with leading up to our wedding. The communication regarding any and all questions was very good. The venue itself is stunning, and I feel that the price that you pay is reasonable for the services provided.With that being said, we had very high expectations for Dunes West given all of the fantastic reviews over the years. There were some flaws on our wedding day, and this information is intended to help the team improve. The ceremony location had old décor left on it from a previous wedding. I was told that the staff comes out to the area 30 minutes prior to the ceremony to wipe down the chairs. This did not happen (per all of the groomsmen and ushers that had been out there four a couple of hours at this point). Thirty minutes prior to the ceremony, my florist had finished installing the ceremony pieces, so how would the staff know what to remove from the area (what décor wasn't mine)? The décor should be removed earlier in the day. Our signature cocktails were not garnished correctly and came out different throughout the evening. Our photographer took a photo of the wedding party with our cocktails (the first batch following the ceremony, and they were not correct the first time around). I just found out yesterday, because my parents didn't want to upset me, that they were the actual last table to eat dinner. I wish someone would have asked me which tables the parents were sitting at. My Dad was not pleased that he paid for our wedding and was the last person to get his food (what was left of it anyways). There was a bit of a disconnect getting people from dinner to downstairs for cake cutting and dancing. Lastly, Dunes West will break down for the evening and move any belongings that were left to Jason's office, but they're not responsible for lost items. I'm missing several items, some of sentimental value that I can't replace (velvet ring box, hanger my bridesmaids got me for my gown, invitations, etc.). I recognize that Dunes West isn't responsible for lost items, but I'm definitely disappointed in this. In summary, we're still married, and we still had a fantastic day with our friends and family. There were many things that did go right, and I'm not sure that any wedding goes 100% perfectly. This feedback is simply indented to help the Dunes West team improve.

ason and the staff at Dunes West were amazing. Getting married the day after a hurricane was stressful, but Jason was able to work with us and we had an amazing day. Jason and his staff are extremely professional and efficient, and let us really enjoy being with our guests and to enjoy our time at our wedding. Gorgeous venue, great food, 10/10 staff!

Our wedding was held at Dunes West 2/25/23 and we could not have asked for a better experience!From the initial venue visit over a year ago, to our food tasting, final walk-through, and ultimately our wedding day, Dunes West was fantastic to work with and we were thrilled with the end result.The venue manager, Jason, is extremely professional. Emails are answered promptly and thoroughly, and he is pleasant and polite to work with, and very accommodating. He worked with us to create the perfect food and bar options for our guests, and let me know which of our selected options were suitable for our vegan/vegetarian guests. Dunes West offers a great value for the money with so much included in the base price: tables, chairs, linens, dishware/flatware/glassware and serving staff. The food and beverage minimums are very reasonable, and if you book for the off season as we did, they offer discounts that yield an even greater value. They also do not nickel and dime you for little things like cutting and serving the cake, and simply include things like that, which many venues charge extra for. Between Jason and the banquet captain, they were very hands on throughout the event, and never skipped a beat. Their set-up was completed in plenty of time for our florist and day-of coordinator to add our florals and other decor items. My friends and I then arrived early to have lunch before getting ready in the spacious bridal suite, and found champagne on ice, along with orange juice and glasses and a sweet note from Jason inviting us to enjoy complementary mimosas while getting ready. The suite has glass doors opening on to the upstairs veranda, which gave my make-up artist plenty of natural light as she worked. There is even a steamer in the room that we were able to use to give my dress a last minute steaming after taking it out of the dress bag. There were so many little touches that I can't list them all, but a few that stood out: As we finished our first dance and got ready for the toast being given by our best friend, Jason magically appeared with our toasting flutes full of champagne. Then when it was time to go from cocktail hour to dinner, he sent the two of us up about 10 minutes ahead of the other guests, to ensure that we would actually have a chance to eat. We had arranged to have chef's stations, but the banquet captain, Harry, served the two of us at our table, item by item so that we could have a little of everything yet remain seated, and kept our glasses full as well. Since we had begun our dinner ahead of the other guests, we finished ahead of them as well, which gave us a chance to go table to table and greet those we hadn't yet greeted during cocktail hour. Harry efficiently organized our sparkler exit at the end of the night, and and sent us on our way with enough leftovers for another meal, along with a bottle of champagne and our leftover cake. I should mention that we also held our ceremony at Dunes West, under the famous \"ceremony oak\" overlooking Wagner Creek. It is a gorgeous waterfront setting, and we can't wait to see the photos our photographer took!We received so many compliments from our guests regarding the beautiful setting, the delicious food, and the overall guest experience, and would absolutely recommend Dunes West to anyone planning a wedding or other event!

Beautiful venue, kind and attentive staff, good food, reasonable price. What else is there?We got married here during the off season (~November-March I think) when there is a decent discount and which I would highly recommend to anyone! Jason has done this for some time (17 years now) and has the process down to a science, including developing the day-of schedule and providing miscellaneous tips. Harry helped on the wedding day and was just as amazing. They’re both no-nonsense, no frills and great at getting straight to the point. For example, nudging us (bride and groom) as the schedule slipped behind and asking what we wanted to do next. During dinner, I returned to the buffet line and was dismayed when there didn’t appear to be any rolls left - the bartender caught on and a couple of minutes later as we were chatting with a table of guests, Harry magically arrived with 2 rolls and butter on a plate for us. Small details that mean so much - all of the staff here cares about doing their job well and it shows. Jason was very responsive to emails throughout the planning process and answered all questions with grace. 11/10 would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone. Tip: I had multiple people tell me after the fact that the mac n cheese was amazing! (which we had without the chicken)

Dunes West was everything and more that we could ask for. The venue itself is not huge, but perfect for our size wedding, the outside is so unbelievable for photos, all our guests raves about it. The ceremony space was outside under the Spanish moss tree which is one of the major things I wanted and the venue delivered! Jason who helped with the planning process with food and floor plans was AMAZING, I cannot say better things about him. His experience about the venue makes the planning process so easy, always willing to help if needed and as a bride knowing that we can sometimes be annoying, he never seemed bothered at all - he just wanted to make sure everything was perfect, and everything was. The staff was also amazing, Harry was a huge help also! They definitely care about the details and want to make sure the day goes perfectly. My now husband and I had the best day ever and Dunes West and Jason were amazing!

I cannot say enough good things about Jason and his event staff. Jason is very organized and very accommodating. Jason is very responsive with emails and really goes above and beyond to make sure all your event details are to the 'T.' Dunes West is the perfect venue for a medium sized wedding, we had 120-130. The split space for dinner and dancing was ideal for our group and made it feel like 2 different venues in one. Additionally, the grand oaks by the water feel magical and were the main reason we chose this location. The food was incredible, everyone RAVED about the fried chicken but the whole buffet we chose was delicious! The bartenders&wait staff for the wedding were very present, always asking what we needed, clearing plates or glasses and ensuring everyone was well taken care of throughout the event! If you are looking for a wedding venue that feels magical and makes everyone fall in love, then this is the one for you!

Dunes West was the most perfect location for our 70 person wedding! Not only were they a one-stop shop (which was great since I did not hire a planner), Jason (and Harry!) made everything seamless. They clearly are a well-oiled machine and know how to make sure the bride and groom (and guests!) are taken care of. My guests LOVED the food and commented on how the service was exceptional and accommodating. I have no doubt that the team here helped to make my dream wedding come true!

Dunes West is an absolutely incredible wedding venue!! I must have researched 30 other venues in the Charleston area, and none even came close to the value of Dunes West. It's amazing how many things are NOT included with other venues.. Dunes West came with tables, chairs, linens, dinnerware, parking, catering, a bride and groom suite for getting ready (which you have access to as early as 7am if you wish), and a gorgeous setting for the entire day, from the venue itself, to the 3 different ceremony site options, to the beautiful grounds with huge oak trees, and the river as a stunning backdrop. And most importantly of all, Dunes West has Jason, who is the Food & Beverage Director and point of contact for any and all questions wedding related. I can't even count the number of emails I sent him with various questions, some of which were so long they could have been a book! He answered every single question, usually within 24 hours at that. He and Harry, the Banquet Captain, are there for the entire wedding day to ensure your timeline runs smoothly and that you don't have to worry about anything. The staff at Dunes West even set up the tables and chairs for you, and break everything down at the end of the night, AND they will pick up any and all of your personal items, flowers, and decor, and hold it for you to pick up the next morning if you wish. They made our signature cocktails to the exact recipe that we provided for them, and even had an option for a corkage bar, where you can provide all the alcohol for the wedding and keep whatever is leftover at the end (much more economical!). They even boxed up our cake, and packed us a to go meal from our wedding food, along with a chilled glass of champagne to take home with us that night. The space can hold hundreds of guests, but we had a very small wedding with only 58 people in attendance. We were worried that it may feel too small with so few guests, but the venue has such a unique layout with use of both upstairs and downstairs during the reception, that the size felt just right for our group. I could go on and on about all the little things that made Dunes West incredible, but I'd never be able to name them all. We feel so thankful to have chosen Dunes West for our wedding, as it truly was a dream come true, and was easily one of the best days of our lives!!!

I could not have been happier with Dune’s West Golf Club as the venue for our son’s rehearsal dinner and wedding this past weekend. Jason, the club director was wonderful to work with and has years of experience. Our guests all raved about the views from the club and said it was the most beautiful location, and I agree! The food was amazing at both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, really top notch! But most importantly was the staff. We had a problem with our laptop freezing up right when we were planning to show a video. The banquet manager ran to help with his own laptop and all worked out. A big shout out to Rip who was one of the bartenders both nights. He was so friendly and accommodating, and mixed some great drinks. Our guests loved him and how he engaged everyone in lively conversation. If you are considering Dunes West as your wedding venue, stop looking. You won’t find a more beautiful location, better food, and more helpful staff!

Flawless perfection. Outstanding Service. Dreamy ceremony. Absolutely fabulous food! We can't express enough how perfect our daughter's wedding was- from the very first time talking to Jason, the food and beverage manager, to the final walk through- to the event itself. The location is outstanding for a wedding- gorgeous in itself with almost no need to decorate- we kept our florals to a minimum and were so very pleased! No additional rentals or decorations were needed. Weather can always be tricky, and while we were assured the back-up plan would be executed seamlessly if needed, we didn't need it. The ceremony location under the moss-dripped oaks along the river, with the oyster path for the bride, was simply dreamy and flawless. ALL of our guests absolutely raved about the venue, the service, the amazing, attentive and fast bartenders, the outstanding food, and the incredible beauty of the venue overall. There was not a single issue the entire day. We did our rehearsal the night before with an intimate and delicious dinner. We hosted a bridal brunch during the day while getting ready in the bridal suite, which very comfortably housed our whole bridal party and hair/make-up artists. The staff were extremely attentive, and there literally is not a single complaint. I know I already mentioned the food, but it deserves more praise. I don't think I've ever been to a wedding with better food- ever. There were so many options to choose from- the raw oysters were outstanding- the beef tenderloin was perfect- our out of town guests loved the shrimp and grits station- and the upscale vegetable display (4 different vegetable sides) had guests asking me for recipes! We had so many guests tell us this was the best wedding with the best food, service, and ambience they have ever attended! One little secret? We pulled this together in just 10 weeks. There are NO hidden fees or charges. The communication is easy, direct and professional. Their coordination with our vendors was seamless. Lastly, if you want amazing photographs of your special day, this place delivers. There are so many locations, from the beautiful architecture of the clubhouse (love the Charleston blue ceilings on the balcony, the spiral staircases, the landscaping with amazing hundreds year-old oaks with stunning moss, the picturesque tree-lined drive up to the property, the river bank, the adirondack chairs, the stone walls and the tall hedges.....ALL OF IT! ) We could not have been more pleased with our wedding event- start to finish. (Oh, and because it had rained days prior, some downtown Charleston venues we had considered had to have flooded so we were SO glad we stayed away from downtown)

Dunes West was AMAZING!!! Jason and Harry both bent over backwards to do everything possible to make our day perfect!! They catered food to the bridal suite for hair and make up which was great. The oak trees were just beautiful for the ceremony. The separate ballroom for dinner gives it such an elegant touch. The food was fantastic!! And it’s truly one of the best sunset views in Chs! Our pictures were stunning!! DW were very flexible and accommodating to special requests we made!! We were beyond impressed! I cannot recommend Dunes West enough to the next bride!!

Seriously stop what you're doing and book this venue! We originally planned to try a backyard wedding but it was looking to be too expensive and time consuming and we happened to find Dunes West and put in an inquiry. I was absolutely blown away by how kind and helpful Jason was, and we were quick to book before they ran out of dates. We even decided to move our wedding up a few months sooner, just to be able to have our wedding at Dunes West. Jason kindly replied to every one of my numerous emails throughout the whole process, and he could not have been any more helpful or nice during our rehearsal dinner or wedding day. Jason and his staff (shoutout to the banquet captain Harry) took care of setting up everything, tended to our every needs, and were just so nice! My now husband and I were actually able to eat on our wedding day, and we got soooo many compliments from our guests on the quality of the food and the bar service! The venue was absolutely beautiful, everyone was so accommodating, and the only thing I'm sad about, is that it is now all over! I cannot wait to get my pictures and video back so I can relive the day over and over.You absolutely want to consider this venue for your wedding!

Dunes West Golf Club is THE BEST wedding venue. My wedding was the best day of my life, and I owe it all to Dunes West. Jason and Harry made my day so spectacular and I can't thank them both enough. The vision for my wedding I had in mind I was extremely particular and Jason made it come to life! Not living in Charleston was really hard for me, but Jason made the communication process so seamless. He was so responsive, kind, and caring during the entire wedding process. We visited Dunes West quite frequently leading up to the wedding, and Jason always made me feel so at home. My mom was very particular about certain things on my wedding day, and Jason even blew her mind. The food was incredible, the staff was so attentive, and the day couldn't have gone any better. Again, I can't thank Jason, Harry and all of the staff at Dunes West for making my wedding day so special. Don't hesitate in booking Dunes West, you WILL NOT regret it.

The food was amazing, and the service was top notch. The outside had plenty of room for my daughters wedding ceremony. And the inside had plenty of room for all of our guests. The views are simply breath taking especially at sunset. I can't thank the staff enough for the outstanding job they did. Jason responded to all my emails and made my vision come true. As he stated Im a tough cookie so he made sure everything was perfect. If I could give more then 5 stars I would. Thank you Again Tina

We attended a wedding at this venue and were so impressed that we decided to give it a look for our own wedding. After looking at at least ten other venues, we kept coming back to Dunes West. We knew instantly that we'd chosen the best venue for us. We couldn't wait for everyone else to experience it. Jason and his entire staff (Harry, et. al.) are the absolute best and are so easy to work with. They are accommodating, personable, and made us feel like the most important show in town (not just another wedding). He took excellent care of the bride and bridesmaids while they were getting ready. The ceremony site is amazing (there are three outdoor sites-we chose the big oak tree), the reception dinner was absolutely wonderful and delicious, and the reception area was perfect! Of course, we were worried about rain. Jason had a contingency plan and it was excellent! Jason does an amazing job of keeping the night going in an organized manner. We have received so many compliments from our guests about Dunes West. We had a budget (which eliminated five places in Charleston, Isle of Palms, etc.) and Dunes West was within our budget. Jason was able to provide us with expenses, options, and a total cost based on number of guests-and there was no nickel and diming. Honest and straightforward is what we like and that was another reason we chose this venue. This was a top-notch experience. I'd definitely recommend everyone to give Dunes West a look, as no one will be disappointed.

We have owned a vacation property in a coastal resort community near Mt. Pleasant, SC for 25 years. My daughter has known for a long time that she wanted to have her wedding in the area where our family spent our summer vacations while she was growing up. The first time she and her fiancé visited Dunes West Golf Club they knew this beautiful venue was the perfect choice for their wedding. From their first meeting with Jason Hanson, food and beverage manager, they felt at ease about planning their wedding day. Jason covered every detail from beginning to end. We kept waiting to be stressed about something and it never happened! We were able to relax and enjoy the wedding day without any worries. Even when there was a threat of a thunderstorm about the time for the ceremony, Jason was in his office closely watching the radar and giving us his best advice about proceeding with the outdoor ceremony. We did make the decision to go ahead with the outdoor ceremony and there were only a few rumbles of thunder, but no rain! We just received the photos back from my daughter's wedding that was held earlier this month and they are gorgeous! The natural beauty of Dunes West is breathtaking and made the perfect scenery for the wedding photos. Our daughter and son in law's wedding day was perfect and we are so grateful to the staff at Dunes West for making the day so special!

Dunes West was absolutely the perfect place to get married. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception here. Jason Hanson was amazing to work with from start to finish. He has everything down to a science, but is also happy to work with you for any specific things you want to incorporate. He was always so prompt to answer any questions I had via email. He added multiple special touches to our wedding day, including mimosas for the girls getting ready and took my husband and I up to dinner early so we could actually eat at our own wedding! We had a few in our group with severe food allergies or dietary preferences and they went above and beyond to make sure they still had food to eat. The food was wonderful as well. My sister in law used to work in the wedding industry and she said this was the best buffet food she had ever had. The venue its self is just so beautiful. We had off and on rain all day, but the weather held for the ceremony for us to have it outside. I also feel that the value for the quality of service you get is outstanding. Just go tour here- you won't regret it!

It’s wonderful to work with people and teams that are passionate about their work. There was only happiness working with Jason and the staff at Dunes West. We chose Dunes West over every venue in Charleston/West Ashley because every person we spoke with had wonderful things to say about the people there and their execution of the perfect wedding. Dunes West lived up to their reputation in every aspect – it was perfect. As Mother of the Bride, I managed most of the details with Jason, their wedding director. He is an amazing, kind and generous man – humbly working with you to make your day the most special it can be and make your dreams come true. My daughter wanted some specifics for her day and Jason worked with us to plan, organize and discover how each aspect could be done without taking away from the dream but allowing the venue to do their best. We trusted him completely. Jason and his staff executed our combined plan flawlessly with kindness and great joy. We had the most beautiful wedding EVER. Our guests believed so as well with many emails/texts just gushing on the day. It was perfection from start to finish, the grounds, the set up, the food, the vendors, the drinks, and the staff. A thank you to Jason and his staff does not sound remotely enough for giving us a day of our lifetime. May God continue to shine upon them!!

I cannot recommend Dunes West & Jason enough for anyone looking to get married. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, both inside and out and there are plenty of different areas to choose from for the ceremony. Jason is prompt, reliable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable regarding all things wedding planning. The morning of our wedding, we arrived to the bridal suite to find champagne and flutes with a note from Jason. We also had staff come check to see if we needed any more champagne or additional drinks throughout the day while getting ready. The bridal suite has plenty of room for hair/makeup and the groom's suite was perfect for their needs. Jason made sure the entire day went smoothly and as planned. Our ceremony was beautiful, followed by photos by the river. During the post-ceremony photos, the wait staff brought the bridal party drinks and appetizers, which I thought was a great touch. Following our sunset photos, Jason led my husband and I to a private room, where we ate by ourselves and enjoyed the sunset. This was one of my favorite moments from the wedding and I highly recommend doing this to spend some time with your spouse during the day. In addition, we got phenomenal feedback from our family and friends regarding all aspects of the wedding. The food was fantastic, certaintly not your typical wedding food and our guests raved about how much they loved dinner/drink selections. We were continually told that it was the best wedding our guests had attended, which is greatly thanks to Jason and his team. I can't thank them enough for the perfect wedding day. If you want an elegant, spacious, affordable venue with delicious food and an amazing staff, Dunes West is the only choice and I'd highly recommend that anyone has their wedding hosted there.

As an out of state wedding planner with an out of state bride and groom, planning was a bit more challenging than normal. Jason answered my almost daily emails promptly and was extremely helpful. He was there on the wedding day to ensure that everything ran smoothly and was in lock step with me on all of the details. The setting is beautiful, the team is attentive, the food is great. Dunes West Golf Club was an absolutely perfect wedding venue! Jason Hanson and his team are professional, responsive, and were a true joy to work with. We had both the ceremony and reception at Dunes West, and since they provide chairs, linens, tables, and food, we didn't have to worry about finding a bunch of other vendors for those items. They couldn't have made planning any easier, and since they coordinate so many essential aspects of the ceremony and reception, we found that a day of coordinator wasn't even necessary. To top it all off, the venue is absolutely stunning, and Jason and his staff were very accommodating - we planned everything pre-pandemic, and rescheduled our wedding more times than I would like to admit, but Jason made the entire process stress-free. I 100% recommend this venue!!!

Jason and his team are exactly what you should look for when booking a venue. They run everything like a well oiled machine and are incredibly accommodating. We truly felt like we were their sole priority on the night of our wedding, which made the experience even better. Because they can provide so much (ceremony setup/breakdown, cleanup, food, beer/wine/liquor, tables w/ linens, etc.) it made planning the wedding so much less stressful than it could have been. They generally set up weddings around sunset so that you get a beautiful marsh sunset as the backdrop to your pictures. I cannot recommend Jason and his team enough, they were fantastic and helped make our day truly special.

Getting married at Dunes West was the BEST day of my life! Jason was incredibly helpful and accommodating from the \"get-go\". Any time I had questions, I would send Jason an e-mail and I would get a prompt reply. He is such a pleasure to work with! Now, on to the important details. From the moment I stepped foot on Dunes West Golf and River Club, I knew that this was the venue I was going to proclaim my wedding vows at. My heart had been captured, and I had fallen in love with this venue. The views from the venue are breathtaking, and they made for some incredible photo opportunities. The bridal suite was incredibly spacious. There was plenty of room to accommodate me, and 5 bridesmaids, a flower girl, and my mother. The groom suite was just the \"perfect\" size. After all, most grooms don't require too much space! Both suites had access to private individual showers. On the morning of the wedding, Jason brought my bridesmaids and I a complimentary bottle of Champagne on ice. The staff at Dunes West waited on us hand and foot. It felt amazing to be treated like we were royal! I seriously could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day. All of my guests mentioned how gorgeous the venue was, and how incredible the food was. Harry, the event coordinator for Dunes West made sure that my new hubby and I had everything we needed while we sat down and had our private time after our ceremony. One of the best things I really loved about Dunes West, is that after the wedding ceremony, they make sure that you have adequate alone time with your spouse so you can enjoy each other's company and your dinner before being bombarded by beloved wedding guests! The layout of the facility is so easy to work with. DW provided linens, tables, chairs, and full-on catering which saved me a lot of money. DW was so accommodating, I think if I had requested the moon and stars, they would have done their absolute best to make that happen! Hands down, this was the most incredible experience. I would not want to get married at any other venue other than Dunes West.

Dunes West is amazing! The venue is gorgeous with multiple ceremony locations and the clubhouse is perfect for receptions. Jason and his staff are exceptional. We had to reschedule our wedding from May to July due to COVID and Jason was super helpful and accommodating. Their food is outstanding and they have a large variety to choose from. Oh, and did I mention their staff cleans up for you after the reception?! That’s a huge plus! No need to make family and friends stay after to help break down and clean up.. they’ll handle it all and put anything personal for you together to pick up the next day! This was very helpful for us. They truly handle so much and will make your planning/setting up way less stressful. We’ve received nothing but great comments and compliments from our friends and family that attended. Dunes West Golf & River Club was the first and only venue we toured. We were looking for a place that had beautiful oaks, near water if possible, that also had the option for an indoor reception for our (originally scheduled) May wedding. The ceremony sites under the oaks are what drew me to Dunes West, but our tour and meeting with Jason is what sold me! He's done literally hundreds of weddings and his experience SHOWS and SHINES. Dunes West takes care of the catering and bar, while giving you options within your budget (e.g., we purchased our own alcohol but served with all the mixers etc by Dunes West Staff). The venue is so stunning I didn't have to spend much time or effort on florals or decor -- the venue speaks for itself! My guests could not stop talking about two things: 1) how beautiful the place was and 2) how amazing the food was!! Having great food wasn't a huge priority on our must haves list, but the food here was incredible and a wonderful bonus for us!! We've had many guests say it's the best wedding food they've ever had!! The day/night of the wedding, everything went so incredibly smoothly, in large part because of the staff at Dunes West who clearly know what they're doing and do this a lot! Jason left mimosas for me and my girls in the bridal suite, which was so thoughtful. The staff rushed out to take orders and bring appetizers to the wedding party while they were taking pics during cocktail hour -- most of the time wedding party has to miss out on these festivities! My husband and I were whisked away to start our dinner before the rest of the guests, and had a magical, sweet, serene, alone moment to ourselves upstairs watching the sunset, and I cherish that so much in the midst of the rest of the hustle and bustle of the evening. I could go on and on, but there are so many things this venue does perfectly. I would recommend them a thousand times over. Do not pass up on this spot!!

A huge asset to this wedding venue is Jason (the unofficial wedding coordinator). We did not hire a wedding coordinator and didn’t need to! Jason has years and years of experience and helps you come up with a perfect timeline down to the minute! The entire ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception went flawlessly! I received several compliments on the venue itself as well as the quality of the food and drinks! Let’s not forget about Harry who was present with us during the entire wedding ceremony and reception making sure everything went off without a hitch! The most PERFECT place to get married. Such a beautiful venue overlooking the marsh with the most gorgeous trees! I was married at Dunes West in November and there simply are not enough good things that I can say about Jason, Harry and the rest of the team there. My husband and I loved the venue from the very first time we saw it and the trees and foliage in combination with the clubhouse itself made for stunning photos on our day. Jason, the venue coordinator, was extremely accommodating and always responded to me no matter how many questions I had. He and Harry basically act as day of coordinators (for the reception) and helped everything to run smoothly for the entire night while also making sure that my husband and I were comfortable and had food and drinks. The food at the club was also amazing and I got compliments all night from my guests about how this was the best wedding they had ever been to. I cannot recommend them enough!

A perfect day in every way. What stood out to me most was the view. The wedding day was blessed with sunshine glistening on the Wando and shining through the gorgeous oak tree. Beyond that we were able to work with Jason and his staff to provide an effortless cocktail hour and reception. Jason has a way of speaking to the bride that guides her through her vision and making it a reality. The food was amazing. In fact we had several guest let us know that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Outstanding! The staff was attentive and hard working. They did whatever it took to make each guest happy to be there. I'm so very glad Dunes West was our venue of choice for this very special day.

Planning from afar can be stressful but he always got back to me quickly, was transparent with pricing, and was professional and courteous in all interactions. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING and bar service was great! They made last minute adjustments to the floor plan and table settings when we had people drop out last minute, and added special touches that I requested without hesitation. I can't recommend Dunes West enough! Inside and out, everything from the outdoor ceremony spaces to bridal suite, this venue is gorgeous and the staff really takes care of you!

The first time I went there, I knew this was the place we would get married at. Jason immediately made me feel comfortable and confident because of his communication and his organization. He created a timeline and made sure his team was aware of the timing and their duties. He accommodated every request I made and executed a beautiful wedding! Also, the food was AMAZING!!! I can't say enough great things about our wedding 2/16/19 at Dunes West. For February, we lucked out with the perfect weather and gorgeous views of the river and sunset. The professional pictures I have received back so far, and our guests pictures look like something out of a picture book. We had a bagpiper play during our processional and recessional and it was so magical! Jason was so great to work with from the very beginning and him and his staff (especially Harry) run your event like a well oiled machine! I literally had nothing to worry about the entire evening! The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed the set-up of how the party setting is downstairs and the formal dinner upstairs. There are many venues to chose from in Charleston, but I fell in love with Dunes West and it's charm and would recommend it to any Bride I know getting married!

Amazing! Everything was simply amazing! Jason addressed all of our questions leading up to the wedding. He explained the timeline that he typically follows and it was perfect! To shine light on the day of customer service, while we took our photos, the amazing staff made sure that we (the wedding party) got some of the appetizers (AMAZING!) and drinks!Once toasts were over, my husband and I were given time to have a plate of all of the amazing food (I highly encourage the Southern Fried Pork Chop!!! I'm still dreaming about it!) and take a moment to wrap our minds around the fact that we are husband and wife! Harry was so helpful in making sure our reception flowed in a timely manner without me feeling like we were rushing a moment! And he made sure that we were beyond happy the entire time. I wish I could truly capture how amazing our wedding was because of what Dunes West contributed but you will just have to stop by and let Jason walk you through what your special day could be!Thank you Dunes West Team! If you are looking for a beautiful, well organized place, look no further! Jason and his staff are great to work with! There are several options for places to hold the ceremony. The food was amazing and there are so many food options! May entire wedding party was blown away with venue. We are so glad we picked this place! We could not be happier!

I cannot tell you enough how thankful my husband and I are that we chose Dunes West, Jason, Harry, and their team to take care of our wedding! If you are looking for the Charleston feel with the outdoor views and everything offered onsite, this is your place. We had our ceremony under the oaks near the water which was absolutely beautiful. The club house with the veranda's was an awesome compromise between outdoors/indoors. Jason, Harry, and their team take care of you from the moment you step in to take the tour, until the day you go back to pick up your cake and decor after the wedding. Harry even dropped off our extra food late after our wedding to our house!We are so thankful for their hard work in making our day perfect.

Dunes West made our wedding day perfect. Jason and his team have everything down to a science, taking all of the worry out of the picture. Every meeting leading up to the wedding Jason made us feel at ease. On the big day everything went perfect, the venue is absolutely beautiful. We decided to add some cafe string lighting which accented the clubhouse perfectly. Once the ceremony was over Jason and his team really took over and shined. Everyone was taken to the downstairs portion of the venue for cocktail hour. While we finished up a few photos after the ceremony the staff brought us drinks and appetizers. Once it was time Jason grabbed us for introductions and first dance. Immediately after the bride and I were taken upstairs to the dinner and got to eat a quick meal privately. The food was AMAZING. We still keep getting comments on how great the food was from our guests. After dinner the reception continued downstairs with the cake cutting and dancing. At the end of the night Harry prepared us for our departure. He even packed up 2 servings of each food item for us in a bag and had it packed in the car. I can't say enough about how great Jason, Harry, and the rest of the staff was. They made our day feel perfect.

I can’t recommend Dunes West enough! The venue is beautiful and Jason is the best! He made all the planning stress free, and will do anything he can to make your day exactly as you want it. And the food - my guests are still raving about the fried chicken and the Mac and cheese!

Our wedding was so perfect, and it had everything to do with Jason and Harry at Dunes West! When we first got engaged, I knew that we wanted a romantic backdrop for our wedding, and we also wanted everything to be as stress-free as possible. Dunes West definitely delivered, and I wish we could do the whole day all over again because it was so much fun!Not only is Jason laid-back and easy to communicate with, but he's also incredibly organized, and everything runs so smoothly because of it. (Our DJ even made a comment about how I should be a wedding planner because of my detailed timeline, but Jason was the person who created it and made sure we stuck to it.)We had a somewhat small wedding budget, and Dunes West fell within that budget, but still delivered on impact! The building and grounds are beautiful, and everyone is still commenting on how delicious the food was at our wedding. (Try the crab cakes!) I also really appreciated how calm Jason was throughout the entire planning process. I never felt like he was annoyed by my millions of questions, and he never worried about the rain or last minute hiccups that inevitably pop up at a weddings, which allowed me to relax and just enjoy the entire day.I really can't say enough great things about this venue, and I'd recommend it to anyone!

The venue had great outdoor space on the water for cocktail hour and the dinner upstairs provided an elegant spot for the meal. Jason was so accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Dunes West was absolutely the most perfect wedding venue!!! We had our ceremony at the Citadel but had our reception at Dunes West. Not only was it affordable, Jason was super amazing and fun to work with. He made sure we understood the wedding timeline, let us change whatever we wanted too, and let us try many options for food (which was all delicious). The venue has a beautiful view of the marsh and golf course and people were able to sit and walk around outside , on the upper porch and inside on two separate floors. Jason and Harry are professional and have done over 600 weddings so they know what they are doing. They provide food, drinks, silverware, chairs and tables (which most places don’t provide all of that). They made sure to accommodate every request we had and were happy to do it. My guests could NOT stop talking about the beautiful venue, the amazing view and the wonderful food. I could not have found a more perfect place in Charleston. I highly recommend dunes west. It was a fairytale !

We looked at around 10 venues in SC and California and are so glad we decided on Dunes West for our daughters wedding! Jason Hanson and the whole staff there were unbelievably professional and accommodating. Every detail was perfect and our 18 month journey from booking the venue to the wedding day was magical! Our guests have not stopped raving about the beautiful ceremony under the Oaks by the water or the food at the rehearsal dinner the night before and the reception afterwards.

Jason and Harry really took great care of us during the time. My groomsmen and I were able to bring our beer to the driving range since we bought corkage and were able to relax hours before then my wife and I actually got to sit and eat as they pulled us away early and we weren't hungry like you hear of so many other venues. The location is gorgeous, the price is the price from the beginning so there is no garbage surprise fees later on. Great people, beautiful location. Wonderful time and experience.

We had our wedding at Dunes West this past weekend and everything was perfect and wonderful. The staff was amazing. Jason Hanson is the Food and Beverage Director. He is excellent to work with. He is easy going and very patient. All details were completed and filled by Jason and his staff. They do an excellent job and were a big part of the success of the wedding. Jason and I emailed back and forth for almost a year. He is responsive and open to suggestions and changes. Job well done by he and his staff!The venue was gorgeous. We are so happy we chose this venue and setting. The weather was perfect. The clubhouse was perfect and the location of the ceremony under the oaks is a must. We had oaks, hanging moss and water in the background. You get everything you want in this location.Appetizers and drinks were trey passed. The food was excellent and the guests raved about the food. Shrimp and grits, to bacon wrapped scallops to crab cakes and chicken and waffles. It all tasted excellent.The wedding inside on the top floor was great. Beautiful lighting. Great bar. Jason and staff kept everything on schedule.It was just a beautiful night. We wish that we could do it all over again. Great setting. Great staff. Great food. I highly recommend this venue. We will stop back by this site in a year and will walk around and remember this special day. Of all the places, if you want an outdoor wedding, this can't be beat. Jason will lead you in the right direction. Very accommodating. Friendly.The guests are still raving about this location and the food. Very southern feel. Lots of charm. We made the right choice. Jason delivered!

The PERFECT place for a wedding!!!! Jason did such a wonderful job- we were so happy with everything! Avenue of oak trees leading up to an antebellum style house on a beautiful creek- like something out of a fairy tale. Gorgeous views, 2 indoor levels, balcony, outdoor area - this venue has it all. We got so many comments about what an awesome venue it was. The food was fantastic, the price was reasonable, they were accommodating and easy to work with, and made sure everything ran smoothly. I would highly recommend Dunes West!!!!

Dunes West is the PERFECT wedding venue! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that everything goes off without a hitch. Jason takes care of every detail from the initial planning meeting until the end of your reception. They have a wonderful set-up for getting ready at the club for both parties as well so the logistics of getting everyone to the same place at the same time is not stressful. The food is top notch! They have a wide variety to choose from. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dunes West is! Our day was absolutely perfect!

Dunes West is the best location to host a wedding. Jason and his team have the bride, groom, and their guest as their top priority. Jason won't tie up your dress, but he'll ensure that your day runs as smooth as you could ever have dreamed. We only had our reception here, but he welcomed us before we could make it to the steps. The bartenders and wait staff took very good care of us and our guests, ensuring that everyone was comfortable and enjoying the evening. The views are what you dream of, as we wed during late fall and the sun set about 45 minutes into the reception, right as we finished with photos. The food was GREAT, and they even boxed up a meal for both of us to take back to our hotel with us (much needed and something I would have never thought to ask for). I couldn't imagine a better planning process with Jason and he really made sure our day was simple and fun!

This place was absolutely wonderful for our Brunch Wedding. The views, food, and service were beyond exceptional. Jason serves as the head of the special events at Dunes West and you could not ask for a better person to work with. We loved everything the venue provided and if we had questions leading up to the event, Jason always worked with us and got back with us pretty quick. We planned the wedding from out of state and never had any stress or anxiety when dealing with Jason and the venue. Rehearsal dinner was also set up the night before and the BBQ was a hit. Jason let us leave stuff there and set up for the wedding early which was a huge help . Day of wedding, Jason made sure to check in on us and help us if we needed any last minute things and Harry served as out head Server and quickly became one of our favorite people. He made sure we were taken care of and never missed out on anything during the whole wedding day. From the initial meet and tour to the wedding day, we could not have asked for a better experience. Our guest are still raving over the food and views.

Dunes West is simply phenomenal!! We were married there almost 2 months ago and we still can't stop talking about what an amazing experience we had. From the moment we scheduled our appointment to tour Dunes West, Jason put us at ease and we knew we were in good hands. The venue is perfection and was exactly what we were looking for: amazing southern food, breathtaking grounds with large oak trees and water views, gorgeous clubhouse and spectacular staff. Jason and Harry were so accommodating and the entire staff went above and beyond to make sure our dream wedding was flawless. The sunset there is so incredible and will give you the most beautiful pictures. We also had our rehearsal dinner in the courtyard the night before, and our guests still rave about how amazing the oysters were! We honestly can't say one negative thing about having our wedding here, so if you're looking in the Charleston area, this venue should be at the top of your list! It felt like a movie scene walking down the isle to my husband-to-be, and we will be forever grateful to Dunes West for giving us such a perfect weekend! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!

Having our wedding at Dunes West was the best decision we could have made! So much is included in the package that it really makes planning so much easier. Jason is so easy to work with-- he knows the answer to just about any question/problem you can come up with. He has everything down to a science and supplies everything you need but is also very flexible with any ideas or décor you want to bring in. Oh and the food-- all of our guests were raving about how amazing it was! Not to mention the venue itself is just gorgeous and makes for amazing pictures!

Jason at Dunes West is WONDERFUL! We were supposed to get married on Friday 10/7 but due to hurricane Matthew we moved the wedding to Thursday 10/6. We weren't able to have our reception there as planned but Jason did allow us to use the ceremony site we had planned (under a huge, beautiful oak tree with Spanish moss) and allowed us to use the grounds for our pictures. Jason worked with me every step of the way the week of our wedding going through every single detail and answered all of my (many) questions. They are incredibly accommodating and Jason knows his stuff! He made sure that our wedding day would still be perfect even if we couldn't have the day we envisioned. Book your wedding at Dunes West, you won't be disappointed!

Dunes West was the perfect venue for our special day. This venue offered so many beautiful, natural spaces for the ceremony and pictures, we did not need to add anything to fluff it up. We chose Dunes West because the simple beauty of Charleston was evident throughout the site, but you weren’t paying the high Charleston prices. Working with Jason was awesome. We decided not to hire a wedding planner and Jason’s organization reassured us that we did not need one! Right from our first meeting, we knew everything would go smooth. Every time I would send him an email with questions I had, Jason would respond almost immediately with answers to everything plus additional information that was always beneficial. Almost a year later and all of our guests still talk about how perfect our wedding was and how seamless the day went.

This was quite possibly the most beautiful venue I have ever seen. It was such a natural setting for my husband and I, and Jason made us feel so comfortable and welcome and would do anything we asked which was fantastic (we weren't too needy but when our open bar was just beer/wine/champagne and we needed a shot he was down with letting us do whatever). He kept us on time as much as possible and made sure I had everything I needed for my ceremony and gathered everything after my reception. Harry was a huge help as well in letting us know when it was time to do what, and of course getting all of my things for me! You have no idea how fast it goes until the end of the night when they're saying it's time for your getaway and you feel like you just started dancing!! There was definitely enough space for my girls and guys to get ready, and the guys played golf that morning and had enough time to shower and be ready. Everyone loved the bartenders and LOVED the food, and it was gorgeous. Absolutely what I envisioned my wedding to be.

Dunes West is a beautiful setting for your special day. I recently got married there and couldn't have asked for a better venue. It's on the water, full of trees draped in Spanish moss, offers three different ceremony sites outside, and the inside is very elegant. Jason Hanson is the Wedding Director there and will guide you through the process from start to finish. He creates the entire timeline and knows when the sun sets on every single day, handy for pictures. It was nice knowing that all I had to do was show up and be princess for a day. Dunes West provides everything from tables and chairs, to linens and dishes. You won't need to rent a thing! They also offer the option to use their bar package or bring in your own alcohol for a small corkage fee. The food is great as well. If I were to do it all over again I would not change a thing!

This will be a wedding you will never forget if you have it here. I have lived in Charleston for 25 years and I know of all the venues in town you can choose from, but I am so happy I had it here at Dunes West. I work full time and basically planned the whole thing myself, but that was easy because Jaspn takes care of everything!! The food was absolutely phenomenal (I had so many people tell me that was the best food they ever had at a wedding) and every other minor to major detail he took care of. I am beyond thrilled with how everything turned out. We had a picturesque background and even had sunset pictures on top of all that. The staff was super attentive and no one was ever not taken care of. You will absolutely be over the moon with this location, Jason and his staff. Book this now!!!!!

One of the best decisions we made for our destination wedding, was holding all wedding festivities (rehearsal dinner, golf outing, ceremony, and reception) at Dunes West. Jason Hanson provided the highest level of customer service throughout the entire wedding planning process and he and his staff were beyond wonderful to work with during the wedding. And the food?! Oh my, our guests are still talking about how wonderful it was! The grounds are impeccably manicured and our photos are just stunning. I truly cannot say enough good things about Dunes West!
