The East Town Ballroom at the Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown is a wedding venue located in Minneapolis, MN. The hotel is minutes away from the University of Minnesota and is nearby downtown attractions such as Gold Medal Park and Stone Arch Bridge. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a grand affair, the in-house wedding planners and other staff members will be there to offer support. When hosting your special occasion at the East Town Ballroom at the Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown, you can share the day with up to 400 guests. The event space features impressive cream-colored drapery and warm lights, under which you and your guests can dine and dance. State-of-the-art AV equipment is also installed in the space, allowing you to share a slideshow of nostalgic images during your rehearsal dinner or reception. For celebrations in the open air, you are welcome to use the hotel’s courtyard. Its ivy wall creates a unique backdrop for your vow exchange or an intimate setting for a small reception meal. After the last dance of the night, you and your guests can rest in any of the hotel’s rooms or suites. The planners at the East Town Ballroom at the Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown delight in helping couples create dream events. To do so, they offer a number of wedding packages that can be customized with à la carte options. For a seamless experience on your big day, the staff will be there to set up and clean up the ballroom. Specialty tables along with white or grey floor-length linens and matching napkins will also be provided. For a memorable reception meal, the culinary team is happy to prepare an array of delectable dishes. From hors d'oeuvres such as sliders and sushi to plated dinners like salmon and sirloin, they will create a menu that appeals to your palate. The morning after your celebration, the chefs can also provide brunch options and mimosa bar stations.

Deciding to host our wedding at the East Town Ballroom at Courtyard Marriott was one of the best wedding decisions we made. Shauna was incredible to work with and the staff the day of went above and beyond in their service to our guests. Seriously - I can’t say enough about Shauna and the staff! The hotel itself is delightfully decorated and the rooms are very spacious. We received many great compliments on the venue! And there were many great special touches throughout the planning process. Thank you for making our day the best!

Deciding to host our wedding at the East Town Ballroom at Courtyard Marriott was one of the best wedding decisions we made. We got married at the Minneapolis Event Center and they offered free Lyfts day of!Dee at the Courtyard was incredibly helpful, quick to respond, nice, and happy to answer my 100s of questions. He helped my mom set up a welcome party Thursday night for all the out of town guests. Give him a call!

The venue was most important to me, and the staff at East Town Ballroom blew me away. The selling point for me was that the room fee was waived if we spent a certain amount on food, which was easily done! The food was absolutely delicious, and several guests mentioned how great it was! The best part of the venue was the service. I worked with Cathy and Lexi, and communication was a breeze. They answered all of my questions promptly, and were very kind and helpful. Lexi worked with us in person on the day of our wedding and she helped things run smoothly. I would 100% recommend this venue to anyone. The only downside is that the ramp connected to the hotel is owned by the city, so it's about $22 per day to park at the hotel.

My husband and I were married 9.4.21 at the East Town Ballroom. Cathy and Dee (David) were outstanding, full of knowledge and ready to help whenever needed. Response time was always quick and efficient. The venue offers the option for either an indoor or outdoor wedding, the reception area is large and beautiful with the drapery and lights. The space allows for a number of layouts. The social hour and bar space is great with close proximity but eliminates any crowding in the reception space. The venue is VERY affordable and you don't need to hire an outside caterer. There are options to fit a variety of wedding desires, you can really mold the services to make your dream wedding. I cannot emphasize enough the convenience of having our wedding ceremony, reception and room block in one place. You won't be disappointed if you choose the East Town Ballroom. My husband and I were also able to capture great photos with the skyline from the rooftop parking garage.

Could not have asked for a better experience planning our wedding and the day was better than either of us could have imagined. Planning our wedding with with only 4 months of planning time went extremely smooth and was so easy, they really have thought of everything and were completely honest about fees and expenses during the entire process. The food was exceptional, and the service from the team before, during and after the wedding was above and beyond. I could not have wished for a better experience end result and all of our guests were extremely happy with the event. 10/10 would get married here again!

We loved our stay at the Courtyard Minneapolis Downtown for our wedding. The hotel has a great location on the edge of downtown and was a quick walk away from our venue, the Day Block Event Center. The rate the hotel gave us and our guests was really competitive and the hotel even upgraded my wife and I to a suite free of charge! The hotel rep we worked with, David \"Dee\" Kurz,\" was also really helpful and responsive. 10/10 definitely recommended and we will stay there again on future visits to Minneapolis.

I was majorly stressing about planning this wedding with ongoing Covid concerns and being on a fixed budget. The wedding coordinators, Dee and Cathy, put all my worries at ease. Their attention to detail, clear communication, quick follow up, and professional, warm personalities made them a dream to work with. You will not regret working with this team! Also the venue was beautiful -- we had a smaller group and decided to have the wedding in the lovely outdoor courtyard. The hotel was recently remodeled, so the lounge area, ballroom, and guest rooms look amazing. The hotel is within walking/driving distance of many restaurants, bars, events, etc. downtown. I cannot iterate enough how fabulous there staff was to work with. We loved hosting our wedding receptions at the Marriott and would highly recommend it!

Could not have asked for a better experience! Bonus, the Bridal Suite also has a stunning view of Downtown Minneapolis and was perfect for getting ready with my girlfriends

We absolutely LOVED having our wedding here at this venue! The hotel is modern, so clean and the location was perfect for us. We were looking for a place that had everything, which included the food (which was delicious), alcohol and bartenders, and a place to stay for our wedding night. We were thrilled that this location had everything we wanted. The courtyard area outside is what sold us the most and we ended up having our ceremony there which made for beautiful photos. They were AMAZING people to work with as well. April helped us in the beginning, and Dee took over most of our questions and planning help. He knew the answer to every single question and always helped put us at ease as we were planning a wedding during the COVID uncertainty. We worked with Cathy as well and she was so fun and easy to work with. Both Dee and Cathy helped us come up with ideas to make the wedding unique, and that really spoke to us because they really cared about making our day so perfect. Everyone (including the wait staff, bartenders and front desk crew) was super helpful, knowledgeable, quick to respond and we never had a single issue with anything. We seriously had almost no stress planning our wedding because everyone was always so happy to help! We appreciated every person here and they all helped us have the perfect wedding day!

We were going to have our wedding ceremony in the courtyard but due to Covid we were unable to so they were more than accommodating by having it in the ballroom. The reception was well spaced out for covid purposes without the sounds getting lost or the space feeling too big for our 100 guests. The food was amazing and the portions were plentiful. Even in uncertain times, they made it feel like a pandemic wasn't even happening. We loved their quality of service and attentiveness and woukd recommend them to anyone.

Dee and Cathy were so amazing during our venue search! Dee answered so many of my questions and made our choice a no brainer. His service is far and above any other venue we talked to and he answered my emails at all hours of the day. He honestly was one of the main selling points for us. He also helped us find our florist! The venue itself is beautiful for pictures. The courtyard even in the winter was a perfect spot with elements of brick, wood, and greenery. The ceremony and reception space had a lot of options for layouts and we were able to customize almost everything. It was also a plus getting to walk home instead of shuttling to another location :) 10/10 would recommend for price, location, venue, food, accommodations, service. Our day was perfect at the Marriott.

I can honestly say that working with Dee and his team at this venue for our wedding was one of the easiest part of the wedding. They were very professional and had their ducks in order. Working with Dee directly on all the details he was very responsive, professional, and easy to work with. He met all our requests and then some. The venue itself is beautiful, spacious, and well kept. All my guests enjoyed the food, the service, the hotel rooms. I'd highly suggest using this venue!!

Our entire wedding block had a great time at this hotel. To start, the cost for the rooms was very reasonably priced, and the amenities within were great. All guests were treated very well during their stay, and Dee and his team went out of their way to make us as the wedding couple feel especially special. Our entire wedding block had a great time at this hotel. To start, the cost for the rooms was very reasonably priced, and the amenities within were great. All guests were treated very well during their stay, and Dee and his team went out of their way to make us as the wedding couple feel especially special. I would highly recommend this hotel to future weddings or events taking place in MN.

We saved a block of rooms at Courtyard by Marriott - Downtown Minneapolis for our wedding guests for our wedding reception at Day Block Event Center. Courtyard by Marriott was very accommodating and made sure our stay was wonderful. We are so grateful. They have a shuttle that runs to and from Day Block to pick up guests and bring them back to the hotel. We will definitely be recommending Courtyard by Marriott to any friends that visit in the future. Thank you!

This venue was great! The venue worked with us and made every request happen. They made the day of run very smooth. We used the Courtyard for our room block and everything went so smooth for us! David communicated with us every step of the way and made everything so clear and simple. I had my wedding here recently and I have to say that the staff was great. I wasn't the biggest fan of parking but Kyle (the wedding coord.) really worked with us to make us happy every step of the way. I really felt cared for. We held our daughter's wedding and reception at the Courtyard Marriott in October and it was fantastic. The wedding planner Kyle was very good about letting us share our ideas with him and then incorporating those ideas into the setup, dinner, etc. The Marriott was also very accommodating for the various dietary restrictions we had and the food was great. We got complements from our guests on how good it was. I appreciate all of the hard work that Kyle and the rest of the Marriott staff put into making this a very special event for us and would highly recommend this venue. It was very convenient to have it all in one place.

We got married at the East Town Ballroom on 10/6/18. We had the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in the ballroom/pre-function area and it all moved more smoothly than I ever could've imagined and it was even more beautiful than I thought it would be! Our day would not have been possible without the help of Kyle, who was high-spirited, highly responsive, and always willing to help. The only thing that went wrong was one special request meal was incorrect, but other than that literally every other aspect of the day went on just fine. They even blocked the Courtyard off for us so we could take pictures against the gorgeous vine wall! We got so many compliments on how beautiful the space was, but we got even more compliments on how good the food was (the food was absolutely delicious, I agree)! I highly, highly recommend this venue to everyone. Kyle and the rest of his team will make sure that you have an absolutely perfect day, just like ours was.

Great!!! Venue!!! We searched several hotel reception venues in Minneapolis and Kyle, the sales director at the Courtyard, sold us on this venue. I’m so glad we did! He was amazing to work with throughout the entire planning process - very timely responses to all of our questions and flexible when we asked for special requests. The guests raved about the food and ballroom; we purchased the ‘Gold’ package and they strung lights from the ceiling - v nice! It was great having our reception venue in a hotel as well- guests were able to party all nite long!! They have an outdoor courtyard where our guests after-partied, away from hotel rooms to keep the noise level down. Also - for those thinking that Courtyard Marriotts don’t have the right ‘feel’ for a wedding (I was in this boat too) - this one is much nicer than the average. They did a bunch of remodeling for the Super Bowl and it shows! For all couples-to-be looking for a metropolitan MPLS spot - this is it!! **one note, we held our ceremony in a different venue. Not sure how a ceremony would work there - but I’m sure Kyle would have an idea!

Unexpectantly, the banqet service didn't follow through the program itineary and causing negative perception among families and relatives who came there.That irresponsible manner really frustrated me and burderned me emotionally. With that very real experience, I wouldn't recommend this place, especially to whom want to honor their cultures in their special days.Another thing is the main course, the menu portion of the airline chicken were smaller than what we had on food testing.

My husband and I got married there on 2/24 and I'm so happy we did. When we first booked with them we had a different catering/event manager and she just wasn't very responsive. About 6 months before our wedding, Kyle came in. He was amazing from the start. He was our most responsive vendor and that meant a lot to me! Also, the food was amazing. We have had numerous people tell us it was the best food they have had at a wedding. Everything with the Courtyard was perfect. Between the staff, food, hotel rooms, and especially Kyle, thanks to them, it was the best day of our lives.

Brian and I used the Courtyard as our reception site after the wedding ceremony. The reception looked beautiful with the drapery and lighting. My family and I only heard positive things about their reception experience. The social hour was great with the passed hors d'oeuvres and hosted bar. Dinner was exceptional with delicious food and helpful service. The servers were kind and helpful to make sure everyone had what they needed. Christina as great in helping me organize the event all along the way. She responded in an appropriate time-frame to e-mails and even helped set up photos and table cards on Saturday. That was a great relief and help to me! Dan was great in making sure we had enough food to go around. We had late night pizza and a breakfast/bloody-mary bar the next morning. He made sure everything went smoothly and helped when needed. The overall experience was great and a great choice for our out-of-town guests to be at. I would recommend the Courtyard to others who are looking for a great venue with wonderful service!

I booked this hotel for my wedding. The customer service I received from Dee was outstanding. He went above and beyond for us. He contacted me weekly to update us on our bookings. He made sure we had a place for the family to eat the night before. The food in the Bristo was excellent. The only difficulty we had was the free shuttle. We had family that arrived late due to the shuttle sitting when it dropped us on, and not returning back to the hotel. Other then the shuttle, I highly recommend this hotel.
