El Torreon is rated one of the most popular venues in Kansas City, and also happens to be one of the most affordable.
Rental of the event venue includes use of our full event space, free public parking, a prep kitchen, bridal party rooms, tables, chairs, free wifi, linens as well as an on-site staff member.
Our stunning historical building has been a sought after venue in KCMO since its opening gala in 1927. Recent renovations are restoring it to its historical glory and opening it up for special events and rental services.
Chris and his team were great to work with! Communication was clear, the staff present on the day of the wedding were so helpful and the space is beautiful. Let me think what says Royal?El Torren !!! It was amazing working with Chris and his staff was awesome. Whatever we needed. He made it happen. Great spirit, awesome atmosphere and the staff went above and beyond. They offer things that will save you money on buying that. Will make you event wedding or whatever you have going on amazing. They offer free linen. It’s just so much you can say about one place we were looking for a Royal atmosphere since I wouldn’t want to Royal production and we found it at AAt EL Torren when you walk in and noticed a big beautiful chandelier in the awesome space in the awesome people no way you can say this isn’t the place!!! we have nothing to say but amazing magnificent beautiful!!! the price is accommodated and well worth it for the space and all the freebies it has to offer. We were definitely satisfied and get our moneys worth! Book with El Torren for your next event, and especially wedding you won’t be disappointed. It has all you need and more.!!!! They didn't try to oversell us on anything, we could get any of our own vendors we wanted, and overall was just great work with. If you book here, I recommend getting security though (they offer it). A person came into our reception and attempted to steal our cards and gifts. Luckily they were caught and the venue manager locked the doors and manned the door afterwards, but that was still scary! Not only do you get top notch customer service, but you also get a flexible event space that speaks for itself in its own simple beauty. While El Torreon stands by itself in it own unique rustic yet modern style, it also serves as an empty canvas for your own special flair and design. Not many event spaces will allow such creativity! Also, for any history buffs out there, this place packs its own wallop of KC history and culture. With reasonable rates, flexible spaces, and EXCELLENT staff and management to handle your event, choosing El Torreon was the best first decision we made in wedding planning. We planned on having our wedding here in 2020 but ended up postponing and having our reception here instead in 2021. The team working there now is great! As we approached our reception, Chris and Amanda were easy to communicate with. Amanda coordinated all the fine details and was a breeze to work with! She was there for the entire event and made sure it ran smoothly along with her teammate, Joel. They were very accommodating and helpful getting us set up and going! He came on board the El Torreon team when we were about to have our wedding a month before and he was ABSOLUTELY incredible. He checked up on us several times and honestly gave us a sigh of relief whenever we had a issue. He always would go the extra mile to check on things in the venue and to make sure he could answer any questions we had at all times. We were one of the first ones to do so after their big renovations in 2017. Kris and his team were very accommodating, professional, and available for any questions that came up during the planning. it’s a beautiful place, and I appreciate the team. She is very responsive, has great ideas, and has great experience in the business of event management and planning. All of the staff who helped set up and run our reception were very professional and efficient. The space is clean and has great charm due to its history. The pricing was also incredibly reasonable for an event space compared to many others we looked at. We would 100% recommend El Torreon to anyone looking to host their wedding and/or reception there. My husband and I were both medical students and we had a 4-month engagement, so finding the time to plan a wedding was a challenge to say the least. We had hired a full-service wedding planner at the beginning, but ended up ending our contract with her 2-weeks in because she just wasn’t a good fit for what we needed with our crunched timeline and our limited time available to spend making decisions etc. We took the plunge of planning the wedding ourselves and we purchased the El Torreón Gatsby package, which made planning our wedding 10-times easier than it should have been. The vendors coordinated flawlessly and were all incredible (see separate reviews for each). The management and staff at El Torreón were very easy to work with and we never once felt like we were being “sold to” or cheated on any way. In fact, we felt like we got an incredible deal with no surprises and everything up-front. Joel in particular was a great help with the setup on rehearsal day and all of the logistical details with the venue on the day-of. Not to mention the fact that the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous! Having a separate area for all of the food was perfect and the building layout made the movement of guests from ceremony to food area to reception very smooth. The service, flexibility, relational approach, venue beauty, and vendor coordination at El Torreón made us feel like we got twice the value of what we paid for, resulting in our dream wedding. Kris was so easy to work with and very helpful throughout our entire wedding process! We had booked the venue November 2017 and had to change our date at one point, the process with the date change was very smooth & Kris was very understanding. The venue itself is just beautiful, there's an awesome bridal suite and grooms room that we used as well that were awesome! We added on the kids room mostly so our son would have some where to play, also a great addition!Our wedding day was beautiful at El Torreon and our guests were impressed! Now I planned our wedding in less than 6 months so not much was left, but we were so lucky to have found El Torreon. Now when we first viewed El Torreon they were in the process or redecorating. They are still renovating the upstairs, but this place was exactly what I had visioned.First we met with Kris. Kris is the guy you want helping with your wedding! He explained what El Torreon was all about. They do lots of work with the community, underprivledged youths, and multiple shelters. He was easy to get along with, personable, professional, and an amazing person. He answered all our questions in a timely manner, took our feedback and made changes, and eased all of our worries. During our wedding day I cannot explain how above and beyond he went. He is AWESOME!During our planning, we realized we needed A LOT of help. So we up'd our package to the gatsby pacakge. We paid 9000 and it was worth it!Now I didn't get to meet the workers on the day, but I can only image what they had to deal with! They did so many behind the scene things with setting up and taking down that I am so incredibly grateful for how smoothly that went. I thought I would need at least 7 hours to set up everything I had brought in, but we were in and out. Then of course I didn't want to do anything after our wedding and I actually didn't have to. We got all our rentals out and they took care of all the cleaning! They were such an incredible help and I wish I could have spent time with them to thank them for all their help.Justin Smith with j. Smith events was our florist and he made my vision come alive. Now flowers was the one thing that I had no idea about. Im so glad he stuck with us. I work night shift and I had no motivation to do anything. I waited until the last minute to give him everything I need. He took all my disorganized idea and poor planning and made the most beautiful arrangements. Everyone at my wedding commented on how beautiful everything was. He took all my scattered tastes and made everything cohesive. I loved working with him and he is so incredibly sweet. Whitney worried with us for the cake. We were having a variety of desserts so we thought we didn't need a lot of cake. BOY WERE WE WRONG! Everyone loved the cake and it was exactly like I pictured. Whitney was awesome working with our scheudules and incredibly professional. She is very creative and can bring anything you think of to life!Last but not least, Cori from com-po-sure. Cori may be an angel. She literally saved our wedding. My sister had gotten married the year before but it was a destination wedding so this was our first wedding with multiple moving parts, vendors, busy timeline, etc. I did not realized how much goes into a wedding. Cori was so incredible. She took everything we had in mind and made it a reality. We met with Cori about a month before our wedding and she kept in contact with us the whole time. She eased my mind about things that I thought was going to be an issue, she spoke with and coordinated all our vendors, made the wedding day go so smoothly It confused me that I didn't have to do anything, brought us our flowers WHEN WE FORGOT THEM, and hyped me up on our wedding day to name a few things. Cori is such an amazing person inside and out. She is so creative, professional, tough, and organized she is the person you want to helping you with your wedding planning and your wedding day!
