June 2020: Evergreen island is pure magic! For some background on my experience, My husband and I were a couple affected by shelter in place and had to completely cancel our original SF Bay Area Wedding. As restrictions began lifting, we were desperate to get married but still have a beautiful (even if small) wedding. On a whim I began googling, Evergreen island came up via the knot. My initial thoughts were, Tulare, where is that? Is this reasonable price and incredible venue for real? The next day (a Saturday) we took the unscheduled 4 hour drive to take a small peek. We fell in L O V E! I began working with Jose the following Monday. Jose is lovingly known in our home as my honorary/second maid of honor, he's THAT GOOD! We pulled the trigger and scheduled a wedding 3 weeks later.... yes 3 weeks! Being 4 hours away and working full time, we arranged everything with Jose by email. Jose makes everything a snap! He worked with my vendors (desserts and florist) so all I had to do was show up! Rehersal: Jose worked with us until we got it just right! Day of: the in house food was divine- many guests even asked who our caterer was, the decor we rented in house was perfect for our vintage meets modern garden theme, and the arch was draped beautifully! The bridal room is a perfect size and designed beautifully! I could write about Evergreen Island and Jose all day long. I was so sad when our original wedding was cancelled but truly no venue could have competed with our experience at Evergreen Island.

The venue was beautiful, the owner was extremely nice and was great with communication throughout the planning and everything.

This venue is beautiful and the food is great! The only down side is that the owner can be moody, sometimes she is great and other times she is snippy and rude.

My fiance and I were on a tight budget and a friend had recommended this place. It's an absolutely beautiful garden setting with a waterfall. The owner/coordinator is a bit hard to read and can come off as brusque initiallty, but I got to spend some one-on-one time with her and she is wonderful. We checked out several other venues and for the price of just renting them without tables, chairs, etc, we had our wedding at Evergreen Island and everything was included, EVEN food.

Kathy and Mike Maze are the owners and they are just amazing people! They are cheap in price and are all inclusive with tables, chairs, linens, plates, cups, silverware, etc and they do their own catering! Kathy even did my flowers for me when she heard that I didn't have a florist.
