You do have to use their beverage service, but that was fine. I was very happy with this venue for my reception. Reviewed on 06-11-2012

Gretchen Angel(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-10-2011 I met with the event coordinator (EC), the event coordinator, and booked the FCAC about 9-10 months out from my wedding. We visited the site on several occasions to see how other events were being set up and arranged. I started to notice that if you asked the individuals working at the front desk any questions that they would give you a slightly different answer than the coordinator would. About 4 months before my wedding I was contacted by someone who worked for the FCAC to discuss my event. This woman contacted me at least twice yet I had never worked with her before and figured she was just calling to double check the event. I was under the impression that I would be working with the actual events coordinator. We had a final meeting with the EC about a month prior to our event. We went over all the details and refined some things that I thought she would already have in the plans. She then informed me that I had been working with ***** the whole time to which I responded that I had no idea who I had been \"working with\" because I thought I was working with her since the beginning since we had met with the EC the entire time. She also tried to tell us that we would have to pay a 15% catering fee since we were using a caterer that was not on their preferred list. I was not okay with this since we had discussed my caterer almost EVERY TIME we met/communicated and I had been told it was only a 10% fee. She dropped it down to the 10% but I was upset since I was getting this thrown at me a month before our event and the fact that the amount was never listed in our contract. The day of our event things went very smoothly at the FCAC until it came to the bartenders who we HAD to use through the FCAC... One was NOT old enough to be at the bartending station but I never saw her actually pour an alcoholic drink. The other bartender was clueless. She didn't know the name of \"vodka and orange juice mixed\" (screwdriver), she said she would have to look up the recipe for a long island iced tea (isn't that one of the most requested drinks?), she didn't know what a \"shot\" was, she couldn't make/put together any mixed drink without the person TELLING her what to put in it. My husband, our groomsmen, and several guests are all Marines...they were dumbfounded by the lack of experience and even commented that they could do a better job. Other than that the venue was beautiful and it was a great price. I just wish I could have worked with one person from the beginning and received all of the details accurately. Reviewed on 10-11-2011

Deb Welsh(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-08-2008 It was a great place and a great price for our reception. They were willing to work with us on a few items and very helpful leading up the reception and at the reception. The Community Arts Center manager is easy to work with. There's a great outdoor space that we also had access to - you could see the Village Green Ammphitheater and the area surrounding it. The tables all had a plain white tablecloth which was perfectly okay with us. They also have a projection screen that played from a computer or they had a DVD player. We were able to hook up a Zune to the sound system instead of hiring a DJ!;Be careful of your decorations - they ask that you don't use sand confetti and a few other things. They also require the flame of any candle to be no higher than the container it is in - could be tricky if using candles! They don't let you tape anything to the walls so any ideas for decorations is limited to what can go on tables. Reviewed on 10-05-2010
