Felicity Church is a wedding venue located in New Orleans, LA.
Built in 1888, Felicity Church is steeped in New Orleans History. Felicity is a nondenominational sanctuary of truth and acceptance. Come as you are, love as you will and write your own story.
We are proud to welcome couples from all nations, all religions, all traditions, and all orientations. Our doors are open to you and yours; whomever they may be.
We host ceremonies and receptions in our authentically restored sanctuary, patio, and hall.
On-site catering is provided by Black Pearl Catering. Outside catering is allowed for a per-head fee.
We held our rehearsal dinner/ welcome reception at Felicity Church which was my husband's favorite event of the weekend. The stained glass windows, wood beams and brick walls make for a beautiful and moody ambiance. We hosted 120 guests for a seated buffet upstairs and moved downstairs for our cocktail style welcome reception. A second bar in the courtyard helped to spread out our guests and take advantage of the added space that is well light with festoon lights and elegant mobile planters. Chris was quick to respond and easy to work with. What a stunning venue for a wedding but I cannot recommend it enough for a rehearsal dinner/ welcome reception too. Reviewed on 31-12-2023

Chris was super helpful throughout the entire planning process and the wedding day. We started planning our wedding in January 2021 and booked the venue without my now husband able to see it. Chris was able to arrange a tour with my parents and my now husband when we were down there visiting a few months later, and was always willing to answer any questions we had. Felicity is such a unique and gorgeous venue. We had our cocktail hour outside in the side courtyard and first floor, and then did our ceremony and reception on the second floor. I had already started looking at places and Felicity Church was actually my first choice! Then fast forward to actually being engaged we originally chose an outdoor location to be our Plan A, yet due to Hurricane Ida causing damage we went with our backup indoor location which was Felicity Church! And I truly think it was meant to always be Felicity Church for our wedding! We had an an intimate elopement, and I couldn't have asked for a better location to get married at, I can't be any more grateful to have been married at this place. Chris the manager, was super friendly and nice, professional, quick to respond to emails, and provided plenty of info for us for using the church. He was so great! Morgan Clark(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-06-2021 Felicity Church!! I will attempt to sum up what so many other happy brides have already shared. This venue is so perfect for a wedding for a number of reasons, the first being that venue manager is a dream to work it. Chris is so accommodating and professional that he makes the planning within in the space a breeze. Not to mention he is beyond dog friendly, to the point that if he finds out you have a dog, he will try and find a way to have your four-legged friend involved in some way just so he can he can pet them. We were married upstairs in the church, then had a cocktail hour downstairs while we mingled and got started on small bites, then we headed back upstairs where the whole space was transformed into the most beautiful reception area I had ever seen. I would strongly recommend doing the ceremony and reception here, especially if you are coming from out of town, because it eliminates the stress of finding transportation in between ceremony and reception and makes for a longer, more intimate evening. Another one of my favorite parts about this venue is that is a full functioning kitchen so that your catering team will be totally set. I prefer this option to in house catering because I find that when you book somewhere that has in house catering you are really compromising on quality as far as food goes. New Orleans has so many incredible caterers that this option lends you to the best of both worlds. It's also centrally located and one of the best locations in town that allows you to easily get to the Quarter or Uptown depending on where your guests are staying or where they might want to go later in the night to keep the party going. Overall I can't recommend Felicity enough. Reviewed on 02-08-2021

Julia M(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-05-2019 Felicity Church is a truly wonderful and unique venue. We got married there (ceremony and reception) in May 2019 and everything was so perfect! Our ceremony lasted about half an hour and then everyone went downstairs to the indoor/outdoor area for a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres while the sanctuary upstairs was \"flipped\" into our reception space, then dinner was served! Chris and Jess are truly wonderful hosts and they really know how the space works best (down to the table and bar set ups). We picked this space specifically for the absolutely gorgeous architecture (which Chris and Jess designed/did themselves!). The space is so elegant and is stunning even without a lot of decorations. But adding a personal touch (we did flower arrangements) really makes it pop! The afternoon/evening light is GORGEOUS, and our photos are truly stunning thanks to Felicity's beautiful bones. Chris and Jess are so gracious and are very supportive of the weddings that are hosted here. For example, one of our ingredients for our specialty cocktails was lots in the mix from family dropping it off to the start of the reception and Chris had some at his own house (which is nearby) that he lent to the bartenders so that our night went off without a hitch. We also planned our wedding from out of state, and Chris was awesome in helping us with various things (he even FaceTimed us for a tour so that we could really envision the space with our set up). We recommend Felicity Church to everyone that we know! We still follow Felicity Church on Instagram and recommend that to others as well! Amanda Roark(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-12-2019 The Felicity was absolutely amazing venue for us. From day one Chris made sure that he was involved in helping make our day extra special. He truly loves what he does and made sure all our needs were met. He also provides a list of preferred vendors that helps that helped us narrow down catering, flowers, music, etc. Because of this, he and our vendors worked seamlessly together because they had a previously well established relationship. We did both our ceremony and reception at the Felicity with a cocktail hour downstairs while they flipped the space. The amounts of compliments we received on how gorgeous the space was has not stopped and we are two months removed from our wedding. The space provides a beautiful backdrop for photos and videos mostly because Chris has spent time on every detail down to the door handles to make the space stand out. Because the space is so beautiful, you can decorate it as much or as little as you want, which can be a huge cost saver. We would absolutely recommend this space, and have, to anyone and everyone and if we were ever able to have another event here we absolutely would. Reviewed on 29-02-2020
Veronica Hannan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-10-2019 Going into wedding planning, my husband and I knew that the right setting was essential to make the big day a success. We initially thought that we'd host our wedding in an old New Orleans mansion. We added Felicity Church to our list because it was in the exact neighborhood we wanted and it was highly recommended by a friend of mine. We toured 6 potential sites and, somewhat unexpectedly, we both fell in love with Felicity Churchâs architecture and charm. We booked it for our reception on October 12, 2019.Itâs been three months since our wedding and booking Felicity Church was one of the best decisions we made. First, the neighborhood surrounding the church is quintessentially New Orleans. Some of our favorite photos are from the walk through the Garden District between the ceremony and reception. Second, the church itself is beautiful. Every inch of Felicity has been lovingly restored, and all of the spaces are exquisitely maintained (a surprising number of female guests have pictures from the womenâs bathroom because itâs just so gorgeous). As an added plus and we were able to get away with minimal decorations because the space and existing lighting are already so striking. Third, the indoor and outdoor spaces are wholly configurable to accommodate a variety of settings and moods. We had an intimate cocktail hour on the lower level that drifted into the courtyard around sunset. During the reception, the upper floors were perfectly arranged for conversation, dinner, and dancing. Finally, although the space was remodeled to maintain its vintage charm, it has the modern updates that matter: the full service kitchen produced some of the best food Iâve ever eaten, and the air conditioning is first class. We had two main points of contact at Felicity Church: Chris and Rachel. From the earliest conversations, up until the day after my wedding they were both delightful to work with. They were responsive throughout the planning process, and the day of the wedding they both worked behind the scenes to ensure everything was in order, all transitions were seamless, and the wedding timeline (e.g. speeches, cake cutting, and dances) happened on schedule. They are also both New Orleans natives to boot, which was personally really important to me, since I grew up in New Orleans and wanted my wedding to reflect a city I love. The final thing I want to mentionâand one of the reasons I was most thankful we chose Felicity Churchâis that the venue ultimately acts as a canvas to whatever wedding experience you want to create. You have the freedom to choose everything (from the caterer, to how the tables are arranged) to make it truly unique and tailored to your vision. We opted to book an extra hour and a half for our reception and hold our ceremony at another location. Chris was happy to accommodate our request. We also ended our wedding with a group sing-a-long, and the timing was not only perfect, but each of our guests had song sheets!Felicity Church was absolutely incredible from start to finishâI highly recommend it! Rebecca Hollis(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-10-2019 I wasn't sure what my dream wedding was when I started the planning process, but now that it's all happened â I couldn't imagine it any better without Felicity Church! Felicity Church has many things going for it, but first and foremost you can't beat the absolute beauty of the architecture and lighting here. Secondly, the owner/manager, Chris Jones, is simply the best. He is not only a super nice guy, but beyond helpful throughout the entire process. Whether I had an inquiry about the venue itself, using a particular vendor, or a random off-the-wall wedding reception question... he had wonderful, honest advice. I trusted his every word, and was not disappointed. Although I live in New Orleans, I had out-of-state family â and a lot â that would come down and often want to do a walk-through. Chris coordinated every visit as if it was our first time. I kept thinking the first-hand attention might slack off after the contract was signed, but nope. He was on his A-game each and every visit, email, and phone call. I also realized after following their instagram account â @felicitychurchnola â that they hosts several weddings/receptions/events there in just ONE week. I don't know how he manages so many events while making you feel as if your are the only one, but he did for me! Furthermore, the beauty of this church is unparalleled to me. The renovation of the first floor is fresh, new, clean, and an empty slate to create whatever you dream. The side courtyard is surprisingly bigger than what I'd envisioned from the photos online. You could really go wild in this space if you wanted. And then the main sanctuary is just gorgeous. I didn't want to spend a ton of our budget on masking a mediocre, or lacking venue with decorations/florals/rentals, and there is no need to here. The stained glass windows, chandeliers, hardwood floors, brick walls, and the trim/molding framing the altar are hard to beat. We took photos here before the ceremony and the daytime light through the primary-colored stained glass windows was to die for! In addition, I have to say I was most taken aback when we re-entered the venue for our reception after sunset. I never considered that I hadn't seen the sanctuary other than in the daytime, and it took my breath away. The mood of the dim lighting framed the room in the most romantic way. It really was the best of both worlds having experienced, and utilized the venue both during the day and night. I know I'm leaving out so much more detail, but in summary â you won't regret using Felicity Church. Jessica Bordelon(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-11-2019 Felicity Church is a fantastic venue! My husband and I were married there a month ago and everything was perfect. Chris is a dream to work with-- he is so on top of his communication and helps ensure that each event goes smoothly. Our guests were totally \"wowed\" at the space. Most of our guests were from New Orleans and hadn't visited the space before-- they could not stop talking about how beautiful everything was. Chris also suggested that we rent the parking lot and have a shuttle to bring guests to and from the event. This was the best suggestion. Our guests were grateful for a parking lot and even more grateful to have a ride the few blocks to the church. I cannot recommend Felicity enough for your wedding or event! Reviewed on 16-12-2019
Anna Hassan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-11-2019 We recently got married at Felicity Church and it was MAGIC! Chris was a great contact to have the full year running up to the wedding. We were able to be creative about all the vendors and customize the space however we wanted! The space is beautiful and we decided to just enhance it with candles. They had all the tables and chairs we needed, we just supplied the linens. We added an hour to ensure the ceremony was before sunset and had an awesome second line loop toward Coliseum Square Park. We went cocktail style for both cocktail hour downstairs and reception upstairs. We had about 100 guests and the space had plenty of room for 2 bars, delicious food stations, dessert table, espresso bar, photobooth in the loft, dancing (even on the stage with the DJ) etc. We have wonderful memories that we'll always treasure. Thank you, Felicity! Reviewed on 02-12-2019

The owners/operators, Chris and his wife, rehabbed the entire place themselves and put loving details into every portion of it. Chris is very accessible and helps with all the details of the venue and coordinating with the vendors. He also has a TON of great advice about how to make the event a success. The place is so large and with the ability to flip the event it makes it so that 250 people was not at all too packed. Couldn't recommend it more. Reviewed on 11-09-2019
Sarah Clark(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-06-2019 I cannot say enough wonderful things about Felicity Church and Chris Jones. We looked at other venues, but the minute I walked into Felicity Church, I was ready to book it on the spot. The rustic charm and beautiful stained glass set it apart from other NOLA wedding spots, and the fact that we could have our wedding AND reception there made it so easy. (We had the ceremony upstairs, went downstairs for a cocktail hour, and went back upstairs after it was \"flipped\" for the reception!) Chris was extremely helpful and a wonderful resource - he recommended floor plans, helped the day run smoothly from behind the scenes, and was even greeting guests as they came into the church. One of the best things about this venue is that it doesn't require lots of decor - we had minimal flowers and small votive candles and it still looked amazing! Our wedding guests are still commenting on how beautiful our venue was. It was the perfect setting for our perfect day!! Reviewed on 26-08-2019
John Huizar(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-05-2019 Felicity is an absolutely incredible venue! My wife and I got married there this year and we couldn't be more thrilled with our decision. The church itself is a beautiful marriage of old and new - the wood is worn in all the right places and being inside fills you with a sense of warmth. The proprietor Chris Jones is a man among men â we planned our big day from all the way in California, but Chris nevertheless helped us pin down even the very finest of details. The day itself was an absolute dream and ran seamlessly thanks to Chris, his wonderful wife, Jessica, and our amazing day-of planner (recommended by Chris), Rachel Swan. We found all of our other vendors through Chris and were absolutely floored with how everything turned out. As many have already shared, Chris is everything you want as you're planning your wedding -- he is impeccably kind, knowledgeable, organized, and responsive. He guided us through every step of our planning and the day itself with a contagious calm and a much-appreciated sense of humor. His incredibly detailed expertise and dedication to our wedding day always put us at ease, and truly allowed us to be in the moment and enjoying every second of our wedding day. My wife will tell anyone who will listen that we wouldn't have made it to or through our wedding if it weren't for Chris and his team, who truly made sure that everything went perfectly as planned and turned out even better than we could've imagined. Among the many advantages of Felicity:- The space has so much of its own character and beauty that one could easily get away with minimal to no additional âdecorationsâ (large elaborate floral arrays, etc not necessary)- Option to do reception in the same space after room flip (as discussed by others)- Super fun neighborhood (great nearby bars and restaurants) situated right in the heart of the Garden District. Also a great neighborhood for a second line!- Airy downstairs space and beautiful courtyard with string lights for cocktail hour/mingling- Your vendors will thank you â everyone loves working with Chris and Jess (for good reason!)- Your guests will be blown away - everyone was raving about the beauty of Felicity and our day, and so many people remarked that ours was the most fun wedding they'd ever attended. We recently got access to our professional photos from our wedding day and we are blown away (all over again) by how beautiful everything was -- every corner of Felicity Church is picture perfect, the surrounding area was the perfect setting for our second line, and every photo is filled with love and warmth, thanks to Felicity and Chris Jones. We barely did any decorating beyond table cloths and a few flower here and there. And like the other reviews said, we received so many compliments on the space from everyone involved. And you cannot go wrong when youâre working with Chris! For a couple as laid back, last minute, and go either he flow as us, he was a perfect fit. Topher Nguyen(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2019 How would I describe Felicity? Simplicity. We pretty much fell in love with the venue. Everyone who saw the church said the same exact thing to me: \"the pictures do it no justice!\" You feel extra beautiful with the natural light flowing in. Other goodies: we found out that we could have the ceremony and reception in one place. That made planning much easier. There is a flip after the ceremony. So our ceremony was about 15 minutes, we went downstairs, had a little private dinner and mingled for about 15 minutes. Chris@Felicity had the upstairs flipped and ready to go. Some observations:Chris is no-nonsense. Talking to him, I never felt like he was selling something. It was always: this is what I can offer, if you want this, good. He will answer all of your questions. To this day, I don't understand linen counts, but he must've answered my questions probably a million times. My general timeline so people can have an idea:Noon - professionals come to felicity to setup1 pm - Groom and my guys show up to do final touches2 pm - Photographer came in to shoot details and bride getting ready3 pm - First look4 pm - Family photos6 pm - Ceremony6:20 pm - Cocktail hour7:00 pm - Reception begins10:00 pm - Sparkler exitAll throughout, Chris just doing his gentle guide making sure things go smoothly. When things go right, you don't notice things. I one-hundred-percent know about Chris' invisible hand making sure things went according to plan. The church is absolutely gorgeous and our guests said that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The most wonderful thing about Felicity Church (aside from itâs amazing architecture), is that you get to make your wedding and reception your own. Unlike many venues, you get to choose your own vendors, which allowed us (with the help of Katherine at My House Social) to create a perfect menu unique to us with a New Orleansâ flair. Most other venues require that you use their caterer and other vendors. With Felicity Church, you can choose your own and create your own unique event. It is absolutely stunning; its got that lower garden district charm and that old, rustic feel; but make no mistake, Felicity Church is impeccably maintained. If youâre looking for distressed wood, exposed brick, and lots of natural lighting for that soft romantic aesthetic, Felicity is for you like it was for me. The owner, Chris is an amazing resource to use when planning your wedding. The first time we visited Felicity, I absolutely fell in love with the space. Chris and his wife truly thought of everything when renovating the church. It has the best of both worlds, as you can have your ceremony in a traditional-style church, but once the space is flipped for the reception, it has all the charm of a unique New Orleans venue. There's also amazing green space around the venue, which made our first-look like we were in a beautiful tropical jungle. On top of all that, Chris is great to work with and is very responsive. Jennifer Crabill(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-05-2017 My 5:30 pm wedding ceremony at Felicity last May was absolutely PERFECT (a word I use selectively), as was working with Chris. I cannot recommend enough - especially if you're wanting to get away from French Quarter and Central Business District and go for some Garden District charm. The building itself is an architectural gem. Besides offering the coolest and most charming venue in New Orleans (his renovation of the structure is simply jaw dropping; it drips of charm and photo-worthy nooks and crannies! And don't even get me started on the natural light...), Chris was unlike any wedding vendor I've ever met. Authentic and good-natured, solution-oriented, attentive and best of all...calm! In the high-strung world of wedding planning and all that is involved, Chris somehow does what he does effortlessly and with a sense of humor. I'll never forget sending him an email on a Saturday around 5p (when he was probably in the midst of coordinating another wedding!), asking about the width of the aisle, since it was decided last-minute my two brothers would walk me down the aisle. I'm not kidding you, 10 minutes later, he responded with an informative answer and even attached a photo of another bride walking down the aisle with two people, for extra assurance! This above-and-beyond responsiveness was so appreciated at the time. The beautiful, large windows were my favorite part of the ceremony, as the sunlight filling the room as you walk in is breathtakingly beautiful (and in my opinion, beats any hotel conference room). Another great thing about the space is that you really don't need to do a lot in terms of decor here, because the venue itself does most of the work for you. There is a quaint park with gorgeous trees nearby where I opted for pre-ceremony photos. My only regret is not bucketing enough time for photos at Felicity before guests arrived. They ended up being very rushed. Please ensure you carve out the appropriate time for photos here - there are too many beautiful spots throughout the church to not take advantage! Chris was knowledgeable and didn't even get annoyed when I asked all of the weird \"history\" questions! I knew my reception would be great and I was right! Felicity was beautiful the day of. I still look at pictures in awe and I can't believe how gorgeous it was. And, listen, when the lights go down, you and your guests are in a different world. Throughout every stage of planning, Chris promptly responded to my questions and was incredibly helpful in imparting tips from his experience with the venue. My husband and I chose Felicity Church for our wedding because of both the gravity and warmth that the space exudes. We love that it pays homage to its history through careful architectural restoration, while it also entails modern conveniences (like an elevator for anyone who can't make it up the stairs, terrific lighting, modern restrooms, an enormous ice maker and kitchen, and great A/C--a must in NOLA!). The venue truly speaks for itself and elevated what was already such an unbelievably special milestone. As a bonus, we were able to keep our flowers and other decor relatively classic/simple because of the grandeur of the space. The venue also gets AMAZING sunlight, particularly in the late afternoon. I distinctly remember rays of sunshine coming through the stained glass during our ceremony!Other logistics that we loved: we could choose our own vendors, which was a huge bonus to us! Chris kindly offered advice about vendors, but we weren't locked into any alcohol, food, floral, etc. vendors based on the venue's contracts. We found this to be rare compared to other New Orleans venues, and we loved this feature because it allowed us to really make our wedding our own by carefully curating our own details. Also, parking around the venue is a breeze if your guests drive. And for couples interested in doing a second line (and outdoor pictures), nearby Coliseum Square is gorgeous! One more quick note: we had a Jewish wedding, and people of many different faiths have gotten married in the space. We fell in love with the venue when we first visited-they have done an amazing job at restoring this gorgeous old church while maintaining its classic style. The exposed brick, stain-glass windows, and polished concrete floors make the space feel so romantic and give it perfect lighting. In addition to the venue being spectacular, Chris is great to work with. He is friendly and accessible for all of your needs. The upstairs room was great for our 75 guest wedding (but could've fit more). We immediately had our second line following the ceremony-and Chris, our planners, and team flipped the space beautifully. I love that they have pews for the ceremony and then re-purpose them for seating during the reception. Chris can also provide up-lighting to set the mood during the reception-from dinner to dance party. Honestly just follow their instagram to see all the fabulous events and weddings they've put on. Mallory Jones(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-10-2017 Felicity Church will forever have a special place in our hearts. For starters, my husband and I planned a destination wedding from AZ and Chris was a pleasure to work with. He was always responsive and was an integral part in our wedding day success. As the bride, I did not have the chance to do a site tour of the facility prior to booking, my first time seeing it was 3 days before the wedding and I must say all the beautiful pictures of this place still don't give it the justice it deserves. Our wedding weekend was threatened by the arrival of Hurricane Nate. Chris had two events scheduled back to back before our wedding so I know he was extremely busy. The day before our wedding the city of NO imposed a 6pm curfew and our ceremony was scheduled to begin at 6pm. I immediately contacted Chris and he sprung into action. We had to make a very tough decision to move the ceremony start time up from 6pm to 1 pm due to the curfew but Chris and his team were there to ensure the last minute change would be seamless. I am forever grateful to Chris and all of the vendors that worked together and diligently to make sure our wedding would be as close to planned as possible. Even though our wedding weekend full of stress and chaos, it ended up perfect and we have Chris/Felicity Church to thank for it! Reviewed on 13-10-2017

Amy Heard(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-06-2017 After having our hearts set on, and then being disappointed by, another venue, we stumbled upon Felicity by chance. As soon as we walked in and saw the beautiful exposed brick and the absolutely stunning job that Chris and his wife had done restoring the building, we knew it was the place for us. From unlimited correspondence in the months leading up to the wedding, to letting us walk through the building multiple times to calm my fears, to helping us to self-coordinate a New Orleans wedding from Chicago, Chris was absolutely wonderful to work with. Plenty of vendors assure you that your wedding will be wonderful if you choose them for your special day, but everything about Felicity Church delivered, from start to finish.I'll never forget dancing the night away to \"Shout\" with all of the people I love the most, and not having to worry about ANYTHING the night of my wedding. Leia Feazel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-05-2017 I had my dream wedding at Felicity Church in May 2017. This place is spectacular and was the perfect setting for our wedding. From the exposed brick and wooden beams, the cathedral ceilings and stained glass windows, to the gorgeous, rustic staircases, there is not one inch of this place that isn't picture-worthy. It has so much character that you don't need any extravagant decor. This was a destination wedding for majority of our guests so we wanted something that would capture the essence of New Orleans. Felicity Church did just that and so much more. We held our ceremony and reception here. The upstairs was flipped while he had a cocktail hour downstairs. We had almost 200 guests and the space was easily accommodating. Chris the owner was the greatest to work with. He made an otherwise stressful process as seamless as possible. Thank you Chris for sharing your lovely venue with us and creating memories that will last a lifetime! Reviewed on 30-06-2017

It's the most beautiful venue I've ever stepped foot in, and to know that the owner, Chris and his wife put their hearts into it, is just the cherry on top. And the cherry on top of that cherry, is that they are the sweetest, most professional, most accommodating, most PERFECT people to work with. I would recommend Felicity Church to anyone and everyone. There is a 100% chance you will love it, and will have zero issues throughout the entire process because they are that amazing. Ashley B.(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2017 Gosh, where to begin! First & foremost, if you are getting married in New Orleans you are already doing it right. But, if you decide to choose Felicity Church then you REALLY are doing it right. We already planned to have our wedding at the stunning Race & Religious, which is amazing enough. However, having a second line parade was a high priority to my husband and I and we really wanted it to be a parade; not just a walk around the block. My husband and I are also both Catholic and had a hard time finding a Catholic church near R&R to do the parade to. That's where Riki at R&R came in as she suggested Felicity since her and her husband recently got married there. At the time of our first site visit, the church was undergoing renovation but we already loved what we saw. And even better was that Chris was very responsive and helpful from the get-go. My husband and I live in Chicago so when we returned for another site visit a few months later, we couldn't believe how gorgeous the renovations came out; the history of the church was still very much intact but the restoration of the architecture and keeping that distressed beauty was incredible. We knew this was where we had to have our ceremony.Through the months, like several of our vendors, Chris became like a friend more than the church owner. His warmth and excitement for us was wonderful and the attention he paid towards us during the planning process made me feel like he was planning his own wedding! Chris was also incredibly generous by allowing us to ship some items out for the wedding in advance (again, we live in Chicago) to be stored there till our wedding. He was even kind enough to let us leave a few items behind that we didn't want to spend the money on to ship back as we knew we would never use these items again, saying he would find a good home for them; COMPLETELY above & beyond what he needed to do!I would get married in Felicity Church to my husband over and over again because it really is just that fantastic of a space and Chris and his wife are just that awesome! Aimee Jeffries(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-03-2017 Someone else here said that getting married at Felicity was the easiest choice they made - we second that emotion. This was a destination wedding for us (March 2017), on a relatively tight timeline (less than 5 months) and walking in to Felicity it was instantly apparent that this space was cool all on its own and wouldn't need a ton of time consuming design interventions to make it feel warm and elegant and memorable - it just IS those things, all on its own. Safe to say we had high standards, but weren't willing to go through all the planning minutiae, and Felicity ticked all the boxes. We wanted a hobbit style wedding (not themed, but that kind of candlelit not too stuffy but a little opulent vibe) and the space captured that perfectly. This place is MEMORABLE for you and for your guests. Particularly because this was a destination wedding we wanted to make sure that the reception didn't feel like we could've had it just anywhere - this is not your average catering facility or open loft space, it has rich history, lovingly restored, and great modern amenities. It also has Chris, who is exactly the kind of person who you'd want to have your back for a wedding, calm, responsive, accommodating, frankly the kind of person you'd want to be friends with. The opposite of the slimier upsell you might encounter in your planning travels. What else...the light! Did we talk about the light? Exchanging vows as the sun lowered through huge stained glass windows, come on. This place manages to feel holy without being tied to a particular religion, elegant without trying too hard, and your guests will be raving about it. Just walk through those big gorgeous doors, you'll see what I mean. Reviewed on 20-04-2017

Kate Wilkins(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-02-2017 We got married on 2/11/17 and Felicity Church was perfection. It is the most beautiful venue inside and out. The minute you walk up the street, you see this stunning building and the quaint courtyard. The downstairs is modernized with hanging light bulbs, but the original architecture was kept to make you feel the history. I would have booked this venue on the stairs alone because you can see the history, and they are absolutely beautiful and unique. The pews in the sanctuary are originals, and the sanctuary has these high ceilings with the original beams and huge windows. We decided to have our ceremony and reception at Felicity as this was a destination wedding for us, and we knew Chris (owner) would help make our dreams a reality. We had the ceremony with the gorgeous pews upstairs, then we had a Second Line to the downstairs and courtyard while the room got flipped, and we came back upstairs for the reception. Chris was one of the best resources for our wedding in so many ways. He helped plan, try out different and unique floor plans, work with our vendors and give them venue tours⊠he truly worked with us on every level and was so professional but also extremely kind. On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly thanks to him, and I have never met someone so organized and thorough. Iâm so glad I trusted my wedding to him and Felicity. We had so many friends and family coming up to us and commenting on the venue and asking how we found it. The fact that the room was flipped in one hour on the dot from a ceremony to a stunning reception for 150 people, blew our guests out of the water. Chris managed transforming the space and had the amazing tables and pews for us to reuse which gave us a huge savings with rentals. This was such a unique layout, and having our vows said on the stage and then the band perform on it was so visually appealing. Felicity was the best decision we made, and Felicity will always be part of our hearts! Reviewed on 13-03-2017

Lisa Anzelmo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-12-2016 Two big thumbs up and then some: the first time I ever set foot in Felicity Church was for a photographer friend's Christmas party/gallery opening during Felicity's very rough and early days many years ago. From that point on, I couldn't get the unique charm and beauty of Felicity out of my head and when it was time to get married, I knew exactly where I wanted to go. I was delighted to find out that in the two year span Felicity was renovated into the perfect(!) space it is today, while still keeping its unique and antiquated beauty with all of the photogenic nooks and crannies. My husband's family was from out of town and they couldn't stop raving about the space. If you are looking for a venue that is true to New Orleans charm, look no further. From the start, Chris, the owner, was amazingly helpful. I'm a big believer in DIY weddings, and he was an invaluable asset to the wedding planning process. As for the venue itself, the fact that both the ceremony and reception can be held in one location--skipping the travel process between the two--is such a bonus! We didn't have a band, but our 175 guests couldn't stop dancing, so the added benefit of having the stage act as a \"second\"/expanded dance floor was just what this lively group needed! (We like to dance, what can we say!) Overall, I wouldn't change a thing for our big night... it was the perfect venue for charm, old school New Orleans flair, photographic beauty, crowd flow, and dancing. Look no further, and cross your fingers that your date isn't already booked!! Chris, Mike and I thank you for an incredible night none of our guests will soon forget... Reviewed on 29-12-2016

My husband and I are both from New Orleans and we wanted a venue that was rustic and historic as well as funky fresh, much like the city itself. We were also looking for a space that could accommodate about 300 guests without feeling crowded. Felicity is truly the most versatile venue there is. The ceremony space flips perfectly into the reception space, with ample room for dancing. In addition there is a space on the bottom floor that was perfect for our cocktail hour. The outdoor courtyard afforded our guests the opportunity to dance to the band under the stars. The historic building is also the perfect backdrop for pictures! The church is beautiful as is. We did not feel the need to do much in the way of decorations. We could not have asked for more. The owner, Chris and his wife were amazing to work with! I had my reception/party here back in March 2016 and it was one of the best decisions I made regarding the wedding. Now besides the space being amazing and versatile... and one of the most unique in New Orleans... I have to make this review about Chris (owner) from day 1 he was so easy to work with, talk to and coordinate with. He is a truly understanding flexible guy... and if you ladies/grooms are out there you need to know you need someone like that on your side. We organized multiple walk troughs with vendors, parents, friends, photographer... and he was delightful, flexible and ready to answer every question. He also loves the place, gives you ideas of what other couples have done, what other photographers have done.. if the weather is good what you can do, if the weather is bad what you can do. If you have this instead of that... he has an idea for that too. Not only you have an amazing space for your wedding but you also have a true partner when you are planning it. We came in for the wedding from out of town and I can say that it was a wedding we will never forget. The wedding ceremony at Felicity was beautiful, with fantastic light, acoustics and a wonderful location in a quiet neighborhood that really made us feel like we were in ârealâ New Orleans. Yet, it was a convenient walk from the St. Charles street car and all the buzz on Magazine Street. The feel of Felicity was so warm and welcoming for all, which was perfect given that it was an interfaith wedding. I helped to set up prior to the wedding at Chris was a fantastic help, both in getting everything in place for the ceremony as well as providing some very useful reminders and tips about wedding day in general. My brother and his wife also held their rehearsal dinner at Felicity the night before the wedding and it couldnât have been more perfect. They used the downstairs space as well as the outside with those festive hanging lights which provided two great spaces for people to eat, talk, and listen and dance to live music. The flexibility of the space made it possible for them to have catered food (including a crawfish boil) and all of the other personal touches that they had hoped for. A fantastic space that I would recommend to anyone. Reviewed on 21-05-2016

My husband and I were married there in 2013, before the current renovations were done, but even then this place was incredible. I had an exhausting venue search through New Orleans and was about to give up on my dream of getting married here when I found Felicity Church. It was exactly what I was looking for- beautiful, historical and oozing with New Orleans charm! My husband is a photographer and so natural light and architectural beauty were very important to him for our wedding photos and this place nails it. I actually had both my ceremony and reception at the church, with a cocktail hour downstairs following the ceremony while they flipped the floor upstairs. I was a little nervous about this but it worked out perfect! The owner Chris is so personable and helpful- He and his wife got married there earlier in the year and so he had great personal insight into what works and what doesn't for set ups/ceremonies/etc. His suggestions were always on point. Chris was extremely accommodating when it came to working with our wedding planner and vendors and opening up the church for vendor consultations. And months after my wedding when I was watching my wedding video I even noticed his wife holding the gate open for all of our wedding guests as they second lined into the yard- I'm sure there were even more helpful things they did behind the scenes that I wasn't even aware of!After the wedding I got SO many compliments from guests on the venue- both locals and out-of-towners thought it was such a unique and special place.
