Fern Hill Golf Club is a clubhouse wedding venue located in Clinton Township, MI. Situated on the rolling greens of an 18-hole golf course, this scenic setting is ideal for weddings of all sizes. Whether you are having a lavish party or a small gathering, the expert staff is dedicated to providing excellent service on your special day. Weddings of up to 750 guests can be accommodated at Fern Hill Golf Club. You can choose from a selection of indoor and outdoor spaces to host your wedding celebration. For an open-air wedding ceremony, the wooden gazebo offers the perfect spot to say "I do." Surrounded by leafy trees and rustic stone paving, this area will look beautiful in your wedding photographs. Alternatively, the on-site indoor chapel is also suitable for exchanging your vows. This renovated space features a neutral color palette and modern interiors. The banquet hall is a grand space for your wedding reception. With ornate chandeliers, plush carpets, and a wooden dance floor, this room is perfect for dining with loved ones and dancing the night away. The area can easily be transformed to suit your chosen wedding theme. For intimate gatherings of up to 130 people, the space can be divided into smaller areas. Stylish get-ready rooms are also available for you to prepare for your big day. Fern Hill Golf Club offers an extensive range of wedding packages and services. The staff can assist with planning your special day, by setting up the venue with tables and chairs and cleaning up at the end of the night. Event items such as arches, altars, and chair covers can be rented. Glassware, flatware, and linens are also available. Guests can enjoy a selection of drinks from the serviced bar, with house wine and liquor available. In-house catering is provided by Floodz Bar and Grill. Fern Hill was an excellent spot for our summer wedding! We loved the fact that we could have our ceremony and cocktail hour outside and then head inside for dinner and dancing. All of the staff were easy to work with, but sometimes it felt like I had to ask specific questions about day-of details instead of them just giving me all of the information I needed. I think I felt this way because we have never heard of or spoken with the day-of wedding coordinator until our rehearsal dinner. Also, the ceremony spot was a little tight for our wedding guests. We had approximately 160 people outside for our ceremony and some were standing in the back or sitting around patio furniture that was kept outside. It wasn't a huge deal, but it would've been helpful to know how many guests can truly fit in that area. Other than that, the venue was pretty and the food was delicious! The venders were helpful, flexible and easy to get ahold of. I would recommend having your wedding here!!

fern hill was such an easy and professional venue to work with! Melissa always responded to my emails so quickly and was super helpful when it came to accommodating our wishes. Amy who was our “coordinator” the night of our wedding was seriously beyond amazing and helpful! My husband and I couldn’t stop talking about her the following day. She made our wedding night such a breeze and was SO sweet! From bustling my dress, to helping with my 3 year old daughter & making sure everything went smoothly.. she seriously was a life saver and I cannot thank her enough. She and all of the staff were so kind and helpful. Do not hesitate to reach out to them!

I had my wedding here on May 29th and it truly could not have been more perfect. We had to rebook our wedding because of covid and Leah and Melissa made the transition completely seamless. I probably called them about 10 times a day when the wedding started getting close and they were always courteous and ready to help! The day of, everything was taken care of without me having to direct anything! Nancy was AMAZING as the day of coordinator and so so so helpful. I had so many guests tell me how beautiful our wedding was and how delicious the food was!! If I could give Fern Hill 10 stars I would. They truly made my dream wedding come to life, even with 2020 being such an emotionally exhausting year. Thank you so so so much Fern Hill 💙

Being a bride from 2020 was exhausting to say the least and Fern Hill made me so thankful that we chose them for our venue. We had to postpone our initial date twice and while stressful, Melissa always eased my mind by working with me to create backups, change plans, and whatever else we needed. She also helped keep everything so calm and organized (which I love and needed!) during the last few weeks before the wedding. Leah helped us with all the booking for our shower and our wedding and was helpful with all of that. We also had Nancy during our shower and wedding rehearsal/ceremony and she helped keep everything going smoothly. Sarah truly saved the day with some dress mishaps with family members and keeping our reception going so amazing. We had loads of compliments on our wedding, especially the food! They make the bride and groom feel like royalty which was so unexpected but also awesome. We had personal waiters (or it felt like it by their service!) They never let us go hungry or let our drinks get warm so thank you to Ben and Tiffany. All the staff were amazing and I am so thankful that we were able to have our wedding and our shower here. I will forever recommend them, 10/10.

We originally were going to have our ceremony and reception at Fern Hill in Oct 2020, however due to covid we changed our plans to a smaller backyard wedding in August 2020. However, we instead had Fern Hill cater our event! And WOW the food was absolutely incredible, it really gave our backyard wedding an extremely elegant feel. The delivery drivers showed up well ahead of schedule and were dressed very professional. Melissa helped us use our deposit/payments we already made for the reception to use for the catering instead - this was a lifesaver and we didn't end up wasting our money! Truly grateful and impressed with the customer service. I would recommend them for catering, and since I have been to some weddings myself at Fern Hill pre-covid, for a reception venue as well!

Fern Hill was absolutely wonderful to work with. We had an outdoor ceremony and our reception here. It was beautiful and everything that we wanted. Melissa, Nancy, and Nick were great to work with. All of my guests complimented the food and there was even a line at the dessert table (which we decided on last minute). We got the pizza for our late night snack and it was delicious. My only complaint about Fern Hill is that we were constantly running back and fourth between the main building, the restaurant, and the section of the building where the bridal suite was. We had a great wedding, the venue was beautiful, the food was great, and the staff were wonderful as well (our guests loved it when the bartenders were dancing a bit and having fun). I would highly recommend Fern Hill!

I found their indoor area sort of banquet-hall like however I really like the grounds & ceremony spaces. I had hoped to rent a tent and have it set up somewhere on the grounds nearby the ceremony, but they didnt consider that option. If only they had a pavilion of some sort! disappointed and wish their indoor space was more light and open - there are drop ceilings and it feels sort of closed in. We went with someone else.

I could not have been happier with the way my wedding turned out! Fern Hill is perfectly budget friendly and the ladies I worked with were such dolls :) They made it super easy to not have to worry about anything the day of our wedding! The food was also a huge plus! I highly recommend getting yourself a prime rib station! Also, I was super happy to see that they had remodeled their indoor ceremony room. Although the beautiful outdoor ceremony patio would have been ideal, I was not at all upset when we had to move the wedding inside. Basically, you need to have your wedding at Fern Hill!

Fern Hill was the best decision we made for our ceremony & reception. Melissa and all the other girls were super accommodating to every request and very responsive. We had our wedding shower here as well and their staff did an incredible job at setting up and making sure everything flowed smoothly. The food was amazing and the day of our wedding we had a staff member on site to help run the ceremony and reception and make sure we stayed on schedule and no one got lost or confused (managing a bridal party is not easy to do!) They almost made everything too easy for us and I am so thrilled with how everything turned out. Would highly recommend to couples looking for an affordable place that delivers all the bells and whistle and then some!

I would recommend Fern Hill to anyone who is getting married. The food is beyond spectacular and they have a wide variety of alcohol choices. I recommend getting the gold package which comes with basically everything. There is a small discount for your shower if you have it there. When we were looking for venues, they brought up details that I would not have thought of, which showed their experience. My husband and I could not have asked for a better venue that has incredible service!!!

Fern Hill is wonderful to work with. I worked mainly with Melissa while planning my wedding. She is professional and very well informed about everything. You can tell she had been doing this for a while. They were very accommodating to my requests. I was determined to have an outdoor ceremony even though it was was only 48 and pretty windy out. They made that happen and then changed my outdoor cocktail hour to inside so my guest didn't freeze! The food was unbelievable! I still have guests talking about it! The servers at the reception were wonderful. Very attentive to my guests, never standing around talking. There was a manager there for me the minute I got there until I left, making sure everything was perfect. Fern Hill really helped my dream wedding come to life. Thank you!

I got married 9/16/2017 at Fern Hill and also had my reception there. The food and facilities are amazing. Staff was BEYOND amazing. They did a phenomonal job setting up and helping out on my special day. The entire expereince from booking to rehearsal to the ceremony and reception was amazing. Leah and Melissa were my main contacts for the wedding and were always available to answers questions, no matter how ridiculous they were. Nancy was my day of coordinator and everything went smoothly and beautifully. They all helped calm my nerves and keep me grounded on my big day. Far exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend. THANK YOU FERN HILL!!

We were deeply disappointed by the facility’s management, and how they conducted themselves on our special day. From the verystart, at our rehearsal, the coordinator, Nancy, gave us a preview of the lack of zeal and professionalism that we would imminently receive on our wedding day. Nancy cut our rehersal time in half in a pressured and impatient manner, to the point that even our officiant was displeased with her disposition. Unfortunately, our wedding day brought similar disappointments. On the wedding day we arrived at Fern Hill at approximately 3:10 p.m., to a group of apathetic managers and frenetic servers working in a panic to flip our banquet hall, which was neither clean nor organized after an event that had ended only two hours before our reception. Our contract had granted us access two hours prior (at 3:00 p.m.) to set-up our centerpieces and table runners, but instead my mother and mother-in-law were left waiting until well after 4:00p.m. with the florist, watching the staff as they rushed to flip the hall. My aunt had to request new linens because the staff, in their frenzy to flip the hall, had somehow missed wrinkled and dirtied linens, while my mother listened as managers verbalized in panic how they “didn’t know if they had chair covers”. I lost that precious time before our ceremony with my mother because she was delayed in her set-up.Our DJ spent all the time speaking with us and coordinating, while Nancy was nowhere to be found (for a banquet coordinator to fail to coordinate is a bit ironic), and as a result, our DJ was playing messenger boy for her while she was elsewhere. A half-hourbefore the ceremony, Nancy told our DJ, who told us, that we had to make a decision to have the ceremony inside or out due to inclement weather. It would truly have been nice to have Nancy tell us herself, in person, to personally to lend her expertise and advice; to communicate specifically the next steps to take given the circumstances. Her absence made us feel neglected and unwelcome. Management made sure to let us know that they were under the stress of balancing multiple events, but again, the facility failed to make us feel like a priority on our wedding day. As stated in our contract, we were supposed start at 5:00 p.m., and we didn’t begin our ceremony until 5:30 p.m. due to Fern Hill’s negligence and/or disarray. Again, Nancy was nowhere to be found with an explanation of the delay, which took time away from our reception which we had PAID FOR!!! We were left without any sort of communication with any manager at all. After the ceremony, Nancy left without so much as a goodbye and we didn’t see her again. Nick,(the new coordinator) blatantly told my sisters that their speeches were too long. After the company delayed our ceremony and failed to show us the respect and courtesy that we paid for, I feel it was very audacious- comical even- for him to say that. It was very unprofessional to comment and simply not his place to do so. Management could have made our experience much more satisfactory were they to conduct themselves with the warmth, intimacy, and respectability one expects when they sign the contract. I can’t in good conscience keep our disappointments to myself because I would hate for another bride and groom to experience the treatment we experienced.

Fern Hill was the only venue that my husband and I toured. We loved that their menu options were available online as many venues do not do this. The coordinator Melissa answered every question that I had and was always accomadating and gracious. We had to bring our ceremony inside because of an unexpected thunderstorm 15 minutes before the ceremony start time. Melissa and the rest of the staff at Fern Hill started setting up the inside ceremony area just in case well before even approaching me about moving inside. Everything was ready to go and we were only behind schedule by a few minutes. Everything turned out wonderfully! The food was amazing (get the beef tenderloins!!) and they were able to help surprise my parents for their 30th wedding anniversary as well! Many of our guests commented that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! We had an amazing time and an amazing experience. We would choose Fern Hill again in a heart beat!

Fern Hill was so wonderful to work with. They are easy to get in touch with and patiently answer all your crazy questions! They have great prices and AMAZING food! They know what they're talking about and help you to make a perfect schedule and make sure everything goes and looks exactly how you want it to. When we got here after the ceremony the golf carts were lined up and ready for us take out and take photos - which was a blast! They set everything up for us and made sure it looked nice. The food, like I said, was so yummy and served right on time. Everyone had an amazing time, the place looked wonderful, and I'm so happy with Fern Hill!

My husband and I had a fall wedding at Fern Hill back in October. I definitely \"shopped around\" for the best location for our big day, and no other venue came close to offering us everything we wanted for a reasonable price. Melissa was a big help throughout the entire planning process and returned emails quickly. You can tell she knows what she is talking about and wanted to help with whatever questions I had. I loved the outdoor patio, which looked amazing in our wedding pictures, and the golf course looked beautiful in the fall. The food was delicious, and since we went with family style, there was more than enough for everyone. The only comment that I would make is that many of my guests complained that they did not get any cake. We only had 120 guests and our cake was made for around 140-150 so there should have been extra. I'm not sure what happened, but this is really the only negative comment that I heard. Everything else was amazing and I am really happy with our decision to have our wedding at Fern Hill.

I would have rated Fern Hill a 5, but there have been lots of comments from guests that cake and food in general was removed from the tables too quickly. Our cake was great, but many people didn't get any, yet many pieces made there way back to the kitchen. We also needed way more bartenders. At the beginning we only had one person to serve 150 people. The remaining service went well and the food was GREAT. The hall looked lovely.

I have mixed feelings on Fern Hill. We were looking for a golf course since my husband is a big golfer and this was actually an affordable golf course compared to some others in the area. We scheduled our food tasting and booked on the same day! Their food was delicious (especially their mashed potatoes, they’re a must-have!) Communication could have been a little better. We originally wanted a Saturday wedding, I contacted them and asked if the date was still available, they said yes. We went in for our food tasting and they said the room was booked, my face dropped and my heart sunk. They contacted the other bride and she was willing to switch rooms, but we opted for a Friday wedding instead. We first met with Kellie then Melissa. Next thing you know, I send a question a month before ou wedding and Melissa is on maternity leave and we had no idea! So we were told that two other girls would be working with us… the day of our wedding we had a completely different person!! I wish we would have known, I would have felt much more comfortable working with someone that I knew. We went in two weeks before to go over all the details and then we had to do it again the day of. It would have been nice to know that we would have someone there the day of to help us, there was no mention of that beforehand. They asked me several questions throughout the day night (including during dinner asking where the kids meals went), I thought that’s why I listed a ‘go-to’ person and gave them my seating chart which included where the kids were sitting. Their ceremony spot was gorgeous (make sure it’s cleaned beforehand! We visited several times before our day and there were cigarette butts EVERYWHERE). We had a larger wedding and the room fit everyone perfectly with plenty of wiggle room. Other than the minor details, our day was gorgeous. Thank you, Fern Hill!

We are very happy we decided to have our big day at Fern Hill. Melissa did a fabulous job! The food was absolutely delicious! So good that it was hard to choose at our tasting! The staff was all so friendly and helpful. I would have liked to know in more detail of what specific information they would need at our final appointment, so that I could have been a little more prepared. I would also have liked to meet those that would be in charge the day of before hand so we knew all who we could go to for questions. But really, we are so pleased! The wait staff and bartenders were awesome as well!!!

Fern Hill was the first place my husband and I looked at during our venue search, and no where else came close to what Fern Hill gave us for the price. The staff were incredible and always willing to help and always answered all my questions. They set up most everything for you, so you're not scrambling on the day of. The food was AMAZING (we heard lots of compliments on the food from guests). The bar tenders were GREAT! They were busy making up all kinds of drinks for everyone and kept us laughing all night. I would HIGHLY recommend Fern Hill Golf Club for everyones wedding venue!

we used their gazebo for the ceremony and it was absolutely beautiful; however, the seating was very limited.\rthe reception hall was very nice - but they did forget to place the cake knife on the cake table so we had to grab one from a table.\rthe food was great - i highly recommend the short braised rib, it was so tender and my guests absolutely loved it!\rthe staff was very helpful with the various 'bride questions' and even assisted with setting up my remembrance table and candles on all of the tables.

The wait staff was great, all my guest said the food was delicious. The bathrooms on the side by the grand room could use a remodel, and i didn't like that i was told that our golf carts would be ready when we got there and they were not. They also made us wait for a wedding that was finishing before we could leave to go out to do our pictures, time is money and i don't like to waste either one.

Fern Hill Golf Club is where my ceremony and reception took place. They have a gorgeous outside ceremony area and a fabulous reception hall inside. My wedding reception took place in the Princess room. Everything was absolutely perfect thanks to the wonderful staff and a big thanks to Melissa Sumyk. Melissa was an absolute pleasure to work with. She handled everything with a professional manor and made my wedding day the day I dreamt of. She was always checking on my bridesmaids and I in the bridal suite, asking if we needed anything. I highly recommend Fern Hill and ask for Melissa! She will make your wedding fabulous!

Fern Hill was a perfect choice for the wedding. I ended up creating a unique package for my wedding and the owners quoted me a price FAR below what I would have paid elsewhere. The service staff was friendly and fast, the event managers were both flexible and a pleasure to work with, and the food was terrific. We had an upgraded martini bar that was supposed to last two hours, but it ended up being at least 3-4 hours. I am so glad that we went with this location. We got so much more, above and beyond what we thought we would be able to have.

Had a Friday night wedding for $40/person, with a champagne toast for the entire hall, premium liquor, and a late night snack. Also had our ceremony here which was beautiful. The only disappointing thing was someone was supposed to be available to take my bridal party out on the golf course with the golf carts to show us pretty places for pictures, and no one was available the day of my wedding.

We had both our ceremony and reception here. The whole experience was perfect. As a golf course they have many wonderful places to take pictures. The outdoor ceremony space is very pretty. The hall was great, but the best part was their food. We have received so many compliments on how good the food was and I have been to one too many weddings with bad food, so I was glad mine won't enter the hall of horror! I would recommend them to everyone!

We had a great experience with Fern Hill. The women who helped us with the process from beginning to end were wonderful. The food was excellent,and they worked very hard to make our visions come to life. With just one tiny little mistake on their part (not plugging in our digital frame for our guests to see our photos displays) overall we were very pleased with everything.

I had my ceremony and reception here. Melissa was amazing to work with. She was very patient with all of my questions and very helpful. She stayed on top of all of the details. The food was great! I chose the chicken siciliano and italian sausage for my main entree. Everyone raved on how good it was. I do not have a single complaint about them. I highly recommened them for any event!

We were unsure if things were going to go smoothly or not with the new ownership but they well exceeded our expectations. Mallory is wonderful and the entire staff was attentive to us from start to finish. Great deal, wonderful food, spectacular day!!! Thank you so much!!

We received wonderful treatment from Fern Hill when we first decided to go with them as they were family owned. They changed owners in February and I was a bit skeptical two weeks before the wedding as the girl we met with seemed very business like and not friendly. The day of our rehearsal that same girl blew us off but the other guy who was in charge of our wedding was AMAZING. He was around for whatever we needed the day of, the gazebo looked great, they took us around on a golf cart for pictures, the food was GREAT, especially the late night coney cart and the bar tender was wonderful.
