Flamingo Gardens Botanical Garden & Wildlife Sanctuary is a full-service wedding venue located near Fort Lauderdale, South Florida. Your guests will be surrounded by lush greenery and preserved nature, while free-roaming peacocks provide a stunning backdrop for photos and memorable times. With multiple ceremony and reception spaces available for rent, we offer different options depending on your specific wants and needs. Whether you’re looking to book an intimate micro-wedding, or an extravagant ceremony and reception, our garden venue is perfect for whatever you may be looking for. [Facilities & Accommodations] Our historical Banyan Tree grows directly behind our wedding arch, providing a majestic covering and backdrop while you say your vows. Or if you’d prefer a more rustic touch, our garden gazebo can transform into the perfect space to say, “I do”. Close-by, we offer a beautiful cocktail area complete with bistro lighting and high-top tables, which can be decorated to your desire. Our reception area is an outdoor covered pavilion and can accommodate up to 200 guests, with a fully functioning kitchen that our caterers work from directly. The surrounding lattice of the space can be lifted, to provide cross-breeze and a full view of the garden. Additional space within the pavilion can be used for a DJ, photo booth, and a dancefloor. Only steps away from our venue options, is our bridal cottage – perfect for day-of preparations. Chairs, tables, and outlets can be provided for your special day, and our preferred florist is especially talented at providing our guests with the décor of their choice. A day-of planner can be requested to guide you through a stress-free wedding, so you and your guests can relax and enjoy your time spent together. Our veteran caterers offer options for full-service bars and signature cocktails, as well as a broad array of hors d'oeuvres, buffet options, or singular plates of your choice. Offering vegan alternatives, and foods from all around the world, you’ll have no problem granting your guests’ dining wishes. [Services Offered] Along with ceremonies & receptions, we offer options for cocktail hours, wedding photoshoots, bridal showers, and other services including: -Bridal suite -Prop rentals -Cleanup/security -Liability insurance -Lighting/sound [History] Founded in 1927 by Floyd & Jane Wray, Flamingo Gardens became one of the first botanical gardens and tourist attractions in South Florida. Standing today as one of the last jungle growth preserves in the area, Flamingo Gardens is home to over 3,000 tropical and subtropical species of plants and trees, including multiple champion trees. The wedding arch is located directly in front of a historical Banyan tree, planted by the original owners in the late 1920’s. As a non-profit animal sanctuary, FG hosts wildlife to be rehabilitated, as well as animal ambassadors and free-roaming peacocks.

My wife and I fell in love with this venue immediately. Michelle and her team were amazing in answering all of our questions and helping us get what we need. They do require the use of certain vendors, but in our experience, this was communicated explicitly (both by mouth and on the documentation we awere given).We used Michelle to coordinate on the day of, and it could not have gone better. Our whole experience was perfect. We were nervous about things going right, but Michelle made the experience magical (including telling our photographers the best places to go). If I could give a higher rating, I would. The venue is beautiful, and the staff was perfect. If you're thinking about having a wedding here, do yourself a favor and go for it. You won't regret it. Thank you so much, Michelle and team? for helping us have a better wedding than we could have possibly imagined.

We had our wedding here on December 2nd. What a beautiful venue! Their setting with the ceremony facing a massive banyan tree and spacious area and building to have the reception there as well is what sold us on the location. Having peacocks roam through eating flower pedals was an added perk as well. Michelle and Bri were great accommodating what we needed for our rehearsal even with other events changing their times last minute, and Michelle in particular was very helpful getting us access and staff to help with photo reshoots a month later. Highly recommend

My Husband and I picked Flamingo Gardens for our Wedding Venue because of how beautiful and reasonably priced it was! While some of the preferred vendors are a little pricy we got the best bang for our buck here compared to other venues. We loved its old FL charm and there are so many beautiful places to take photos this place is truly a hidden gem! Which they take you to on golf cart. Our guests loved the venue and we got some many compliments. The only thing I would mention to keep in mind and the reason I didn't give this venue 5 stars is because of our experience with the Coordinator Michelle. While she is nice and helpful most of the time when asking her a question if a day of coordinator could be provided (as per mentioned on The Knot) she was rude about it, didn't answer my phone calls and was late to the scheduled rehearsal time. I really wish she had communicated to me because I understand people are busy and things happen but my time is valuable too. Also my experience near the end of my wedding night was so disappointing. About 45 mins before the allotted time we paid for she told my family and bridesmaids we need to collect our items from the bridal cottage and be out by the wedding end time. I really wish this was communicated to us before the wedding start time we would have gladly organized everything so we can easily be out or even paid for extra time. Instead I had no idea where my things were and drove home in my wedding dress because I couldn't change. It was stressful to say the least. Considering how much we paid and how important this day was to us I expected a little bit more communication and professionalism. Bree also helped and she was great and very nice/helpful throughout the whole process. I really appreciated her! All in all I would say book your wedding here but know what you get going into it.

I want to start off by saying that the wedding day itself went splendid but I must admit that it was a bit stressful working with this vendor up until that point. Michelle was hard to get in contact with and while nice, didn't do much to ease the stress that comes with planning a wedding. Honestly, if communication was better/easier, I would've given 4 or 5 stars.

My husband and I were so blown away by the level of service and professionalism. Michelle made the whole experience from start to finish seamlessly. She provided us with recommended vendors (florists and catering) and they were also just as incredible! By the end of our wedding night, we felt like Michelle was part of the family. She made the whole experience so stress-free, and since I didn't have a wedding planner or coordinator, she helped with the ceremony. I was definitely a very organized bride and was on top of every detail, we had a small intimate wedding with only 33 guests, so I was able to get away without the extra help. She's done so many weddings including her own son's there, so listen to her recommendations because she knows her stuff. I look forward to visiting FG, and it now holds a really special place in our hearts.

Let me start out by saying that my husband and I LOVE this location. We have been here many times in years and I always knew I wanted to get married at FG. It is so magical and organic with all of the different trees, flowers, plants, and exotic animals. Because of our budget, we couldn't afford to rent the reception area and hire their approved vendors in addition. We definitely still wanted our ceremony there. It was beautiful and we can't wait for the pictures and videos! Visitors were congratulating us, and it made me feel like a popstar lolHowever, the service was NOT what I expected. I reached out to Michelle MANY times within the year to check in and make sure everything was still as planned with the rehearsal and ceremony, which I expected her or her team to do but I just figured that was me being extra. Then, when we got to the rehearsal day, there were no instructions on where to go (the back gate), and no one came to greet or welcome us. We asked someone from the front office to call Michelle, as we expected someone to check if we had any questions for the ceremony the following day. Apparently, she was at another appointment. I feel that knowing we would be there, even if we had a wedding planner or not, someone should have welcomed our party, as we are paying for the venue. Then, Michelle tried to tell me that we were supposed to use one of her approved florist, the day before the wedding! This was never shared in the many conversations or contract signing. I even asked this before we put our deposit. We used artificial flowers for most of the decorations so that didn't matter too much. Her attitude towards my family and I was not acceptable. Many family members were not pleased with her. She did help with the processional on the day of, but made comments that were not needed to a few people. I expected more of customer service, even if we only rented the ceremony space and were a small party. I suggest the venue coordinator really needs to work on her people skills, as I (the bride) was not happy with her tone and demeanor with me in many occasions. It made the experience more stressful as it already was. The only reason I am giving it any stars is the gorgeous scenery and the price for the ceremony venue. I am sure we will continue visiting FG for years to come, but am glad we won't have to work with the events planner again. Such a shame.

The first time we visited this location, we knew we wanted to have our ceremony by the beautiful Banyan tree. The venue was perfect for what we wanted: a relatively small, romantic and rustic-themed wedding. The garden is very well-kept, full of greenery and even better on a sunny day. We had our cocktail hour in the lawn area and our reception in the pavilion. Michelle helped us throughout the entire process and was always responsive to our concerns – and that’s vital when you’re planning a wedding, which is already stressful enough. We also decided to have her as our day-of coordinator and that was the best decision we made. She was on top of every detail with all of the vendors that morning, making sure everything ran smoothly and was placed according to what we had asked for. And not only did she make sure that our wedding looked like what we envisioned, but she also took care of us to ensure we were focused only on enjoying our big day. Our ceremony was beautiful and we couldn’t be happier with Michelle’s work.

We were so pleased to have our wedding at this beautiful location! We had the ceremony in front of the Banyan tree and the reception in the lawn area. It was breathtaking and beyond beautiful! The staff also worked with us (we live out of state) and our family members, who helped us coordinate the event. They went to the venue several times before the day of, and Michelle and her staff were always so patient and understanding. There were a few communication errors as far as services/fees, but in the end it all worked out. Our guests loved the peacocks and the beautiful scenery as we celebrated the night away. :)Definitely recommend!

As mother of the bride my main concern was that my daughter have the wedding day she envisioned. That was made possible at Flamingo Gardens. With the help of Michelle & her staff the day went as smooth as it possibly could. Michelle was with us all day making sure that we had everything we needed or even wanted. There was more than 1 occasion when she had something I needed before I knew I needed it. It was a beautiful event that went off without a hitch. At first look, you may think the place is a little pricey. It does cost more than other places - but you get so much more for your money - we had run of the place for 8 hours! The girls were able to dress on sight. The kids had photos taken in several beautiful places. And family members enjoyed walking around in a few spare minutes they found before the ceremony. I would not hesitate booking a wedding there again - it was an all around wonderful experience - thank you!!

My friend Jhonora dreamed of having her wedding under a beautiful tree. Flamingo Gardens gave her that and more. Between the beautiful flowers, greenery and peacocks it surely made for a magical wedding day. Michelle loves her brides and makes sure you are all set to celebrate your special day.

I would highly recommend Flamingo Gardens as your choice for any special occasion- especially your wedding. Michelle and associates are very professional, competent, and energetic. Our wedding was flawless especially as it took place only one weeek after Hurricane Irma. Not only the staff - the Banyon Tree and peacocks contributed to making the occasion precious and memorable.Thank you and kudos to Michelle and everyone who assisted at Flamingo Gardens!!!

Flamingo Gardens & Michelle made our day special and stress free, they were very accommodating and exceeded our expectations. At one point, We wanted to take photos at the back of the gardens, however we were past our allotted time, yet Michelle and her team got us a golf cart and drove us, to ensure our experience was exactly as we intended. I would highly recommend Flamingo gardens, based on our experience with the staff and service, and also because of the scenery and how well the gardens are maintained. The designated ceremony area by the huge tree is beautiful, and the freedom to contract your own florist and photographers was a plus for us!

Beautiful setting for combined ceremony and reception of ~80 guests. Very comfortable for guests and their children. Slightly pricey for the services provided by vendor but the setting was glorious and being able to have the ceremony and reception in one location saved me money in the end and really improved the experience for my guests.

No regrets at all! Michelle is a dream to work with and she does whatever she can to meet your needs. For guests who can't make the walk to the back of the park golf cart transport will be provided. Weddings during park hours are no problem so unless you just want the night atmosphere don't be afraid to save the extra $75/hr and have your wedding in the daylight.
