Originally built in 1928, the Fountain Square Theatre opened as a motion picture and vaudeville theatre. Decorated with an Italian garden theme and highlighted with a 40-foot domed ceiling with twinkling stars, the theatre enjoyed many years as a premier entertainment venue.
Today, the Fountain Square Theatre is once again a starlit courtyard with columned arches surrounding the expansive dance floor, a curved vintage bar, and balcony overlooking the main level.
The original stage provides an ideal spot for a ceremony, head table, or reception entertainment. Limitless photo opportunities are found throughout this National Historic Landmark - from the customizable marquee and "coming attractions" boxes to a first dance with a working spotlight and sunset photos on our rooftop overlooking the city.
A small boutique hotel on site is an excellent addition for wedding party accommodations, and the adjacent Duckpin Bowling alleys are sure to be a hit for a high energy rehearsal dinner.

Toni Corbin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-07-2017 Brian and his staff were seriously amazing! Our wedding couldn't have gone any better. All day he was there to answer any questions from anyone and anything that we needed he stopped what he was doing to make it happen. When I didn't end up with a bouquet for the toss he picked flowers up from around the room and made me one, who else would do that! Brian is top notch and is 100% there to make sure your day comes out to be the exact vision in your head, even if you are like me and don't really know what that vision is! At the rehearsal I brought a lot of decor with us and didn't really know where it would all go but him and his staff placed it all beautifully around the venue. The communication throughout the whole process from the very first venue visit when we were still deciding, to the very end were quick and super informative, he always knows what the next question will be so he goes ahead and answers it, sometimes before you even think of it. I seriously couldn't have asked for a better venue and staff to work with and I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend them for your wedding, or any even for that matter! The fact that everything can be in one spot and your guests don't have to drive anywhere is huge and was appreciated by all that came. Staying at the Inn upstairs the night before helped a lot with being anxious about the day because everything you needed was there and you didn't have to travel. The rooms are decorated neatly to where pictures come out great and there is enough room for many people to get ready. I could go on and on about FST, I have zero complaints! Reviewed on 02-08-2017

The entire experience was amazing, and I can’t even imagine a more magical wedding. Specifically also want to mention Brian, who helped us in planning everything, even in navigating the challenge of a global pandemic during wedding planning, and he ensured everything went flawlessly on the day of as well. He made what can be a nervous and stressful experience into a very relaxed one, and I can’t speak high enough of his professionalism. Reviewed on 06-09-2021
Margaret Ruwe(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-07-2021 We booked the Fountain Square Theatre last year after deciding to postpone our wedding due to COVID. We were moving from Texas to Indiana and trying to find a venue similar to the one that we had, while facing the daunting task of re-planning our wedding in a new state. Brian at the Fountain Square Theatre went above and beyond to make everything come together. From initial planning meetings over zoom to touring the venue, hosting us for a dinner tasting before we chose our menu, recommending other vendors and helping us think through all of the details I would have completely forgotten... Brian was our wedding guru. We had our ceremony and reception in the same theatre space, and everything went beautifully. The atmosphere was a really great mix of classy and vintage, while still being fun and relaxed (and not stuffy). The original art deco style throughout makes for amazing pictures!! My husband and I even stayed in the Fountainview Inn in the same building, which made it all really convenient. We also hosted our rehearsal dinner in the duckpin bowling alley upstairs, which was a blast. All in all, I genuinely can't recommend this venue enough. Working with Brian made it a dream. Sarah Patterson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-01-2021 Our wedding reception was impacted by COVID-19, which led us searching for another venue in a different county with less than a month before the big day and actually planning it in 10 days. Brian with Fountain Square Theatre was an angel - His organization and experience made it the most stress free, seamless process.Compared to our original venue, we honestly felt like we were receiving royal treatment at FST. From decorating the venue for us, helping with tear down, the marquee and putting together a seating chart with less than 1 hour until the reception. We felt spoiled. We haven’t stopped talking about our day and how thankful we were to experience all the changes because it led us to the Fountain Square Theatre. So many compliments from our guest, beautiful place. Best day ever. Thanks Brian and FST! Reviewed on 24-01-2021
Cortney Auberry(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-09-2020 Brian and his staff are truly fantastic. I can't say enough good words about them He balances the ability to hear opinions and see my vision but also steered me in the right direction when I needed help. His communication is top notch and I was never left wondering. Fountain square theater was patient with my now husband and I while we navigated Covid-19 this summer. They presented us with so many options, including potentially postponing our wedding. Thankfully, we were able to keep our original wedding date and added many precautions. You can tell this vendor cares about it's guests. Brian is very knowledgeable in hosting/coordinating weddings. He brought up details I would never have thought of on my own. My wedding was absolutely perfect, and I believe it was largely due to contracting this venue to host it. Reviewed on 12-10-2020
Derek Savick(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-07-2020 My husband and I are so lucky to have worked with Brian and Loren at Fountain Square Theater. From the start of our planning with Brian, our ideas were heard and our vision was centered. As we were wrapping up final touches and getting ready to head into the final stretch, COVID-19 arrived. As we emailed to cancel our wedding, we were given several options to accommodate our needs and provide alternatives. Without any fiscal penalty, Brian transitioned us to Loren who helped us rethink our dream in their Action Bowl Duckpin Bowling venue. Some of the same menu items, drinks, and elements of our big day even made the transition too. Overall, our day was even more special, with staff who were extremely welcoming and abiding by careful precautions to keep our guests safe in this unprecedented time. Without the help of Brian and Loren, our day could have been turned completely upside down. However, with the care, patience, guidance, and diligent work of the Fountain Square Theater team, we were able to fill our day with love, celebration, and special touches without a worry about the details. My husband and I look forward to utilizing this space again for future celebrations, and I hope many others are able to leverage the beautiful atmosphere and engage with Brian, Loren, and the stellar staff here to celebrate amidst even these most uncertain of times! I truly cannot say enough good things about FSQ and especially Brian. Our wedding day and the planning process would not have gone as smoothly as it did had we gone elsewhere. The venue is so cool and our guests are still talking about it, we didn't have to decorate much since it was already so interesting, the food was delicious, but honestly, the best thing about FSQ is Brian. He is so organized, punctual, communicative, and accommodating. They offer a food tasting with the whole venue decorated as it it was an event so you can see how it would look, he accommodated our schedules being out of town and having limited availability, allowed us to come see the venue many times, sat us down for a long planning meeting to hash out the details in person, and his staff was absolutely wonderful. Two of the standout moments at our wedding were 1. the server running across the room when I couldn't find my groom for a slow dance to bring him to the dance floor and 2. when we were leaving to go back to our hotel and our Uber couldn't find us, Brian literally ran down the straight to find him, direct him, and get us home safely. He was off the clock and at a local bar with friends at the time, and still ran after our Uber. Brian, we can't thank you enough for being such a spectacular venue coordinator and support through the planning process. I would absolutely recommend FSQ over and over and over again as a wedding reception venue. Reviewed on 29-07-2019
Ali Stark(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-10-2018 We loved our wedding at Fountain Square Theatre!! We wouldn’t trade it for the world! This is a unique venue and therefore has many pros and a few cons. Pros:-The food and service was absolutely incredible. We received many compliments from our guests about this!-Beautiful venue! So unique and has a vintage look. Very romantic and looks amazing with candlelight everywhere and uplighting along the walls. There’s even a spotlight which we used for our first dance, speeches, and cake cutting. -Awesome photo ops. FS offers many nearby spots for great pictures and the venue allows you to go to the roof for pictures with the Indianapolis skyline in the background. -Brian, the venue coordinator, was so wonderful to work with. He’s very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond for you. - There are 11 or so hotel rooms upstairs that are so cute and fun. And very convenient for getting ready, family, and staying in the wedding night. - Getting to personalize the marquee was so fun and made for some great pictures! Cons:-Parking is available and free but sometimes hard to find nearby, especially for older or handicapped guests. - The groom’s suite is spacious and nice, but there is not a bride equivalent. Be prepared to get ready somewhere else and only arrive at the venue once you’re ready. - Having cocktail hour upstairs was neat, but challenging for older or handicapped guests. There is a not a nearby elevator. They have to walk outside next door, take the elevator, then walk along hallways to get to cocktail hour. - Downstairs there are only two bathrooms for guests to use. We had about 200 guests there and we could’ve used more. There are more bathrooms upstairs, however, and some guests were going up there, but it was not as convenient. All in all, we loved this venue! We got so many compliments from our guests about it! Reviewed on 10-12-2018

We did not want to have a sit down dinner, but have different appetizers all night and Brian nailed it! Our guests raved about all of the food we had! It was just so delicious. Even when we said we wanted chicken and waffles at the end of the night, Brian and his chef created the most wonderful, individual Chicken & Waffle appetizers! We had people talking about them for days! And I continue to have people come up to me and say how beautiful the theatre was! Brian set everything up for us, making decorating a breeze and took such a load off my shoulders, I couldn't thank him enough! Kathleen Ewald(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-08-2016 The venue was amazing! It was the perfect romantic atmosphere for our wedding. With all the decor already a part of the venue it kept our other costs down without having to compromise on our venue, which was incredibly helpful! The food was catered in house and was INCREDIBLE! I was blown away! They also include rentals (tables, chairs, linens, etc) into your final cost so you didn't have to search for other vendors which was also great! The only down side to the venue was dealing with one of the coordinators who was quite aggressive and very unhelpful for reasons unknown. A couple of vases we rented from the florist went missing after she packed them up as well as a rented bridesmaid dress and she was incredibly unhelpful in assisting us in finding these items which ended up costing us a lot of money. Other than her, everything was phenomenal. I would do my wedding reception there again for sure! Reviewed on 14-09-2016
Jenny Inderstrodt(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-10-2012 Initially, we were please with Fountain Square and Priscilla. A couple weeks before the wedding, she proceeded to tell us that she would not be at our reception and that it would be in good hands. Ha. The groom's parent's table didn't receive their salads. We waited out in the cold to be introduced, despite being told that we would have a room to go in. At the end of October, it was not pleasant out. We didn't even know who was in charge. Thank goodness for Wes from Event One DJs. He made sure most things went smoothly. They didn't serve the cake, which we paid for them to do. They cut it and then just had it on trays around the room to go get yourself, which most guests were unaware of. We had a few guests with birthdays and had made Priscilla aware ahead of time, letting her know the tables at which the individuals were seated. Go figure, they never received their cupcakes. We were told that we would be able to extend the evening by the hour if we wished, but at 11:00 on the dot, they were pushing us out of the venue and actually locked the doors. The best part is that we also had gifts missing. When you don't receive the gift from your in-laws that was on the gift table, it seems a little fishy. My mother heard a few weeks later of someone else who had their reception there and had gifts stolen, as well, which leads me to believe it was the staff that took them. I e-mailed Priscilla to let her know about what had happened and never heard back from her. However, I know she received the e-mail, because the gentleman who was \"in charge\" that night is friends with by brother-in-law and told him that he got chewed out. Finally, my I mom called and spoke with Priscilla. I have no doubt that had Priscilla been there, our event would have gone great. However, with her gone it was a mess. The one good thing is that our guests weren't aware of everything going on and all had a blast. I wouldn't warn against Fountain Square, but be careful and make sure that the correct people are in charge and present. Reviewed on 23-12-2012
