The Original Back Mountain Barn Wedding
Friedman Farms is a wedding venue located in Dallas, PA. If you imagine rolling fields, picturesque views, and a charming barn on your special day, this is the perfect setting for you. Boasting over 145 acres of land, this property creates a secluded oasis for only you and your loved ones to celebrate. At Friedman Farms, you can make your country roots a part of your special day as you treat your guests to the beautiful farm-life surroundings. Since the property opened its doors to couples in 2006, they have been delighted to assist couples in making their dream wedding come true. The property offers three beautiful outdoor ceremony sites for you to choose from. Whether you want to exchange your vows on the hilltop, beside the flagstone fireplace, or underneath the gazebo, the event team will accommodate your wants. Afterwards, guests can make their way to the iconic red barn, where the real celebration takes place. This three-level barn features original woodwork and boasts a stunning rustic aesthetic with a touch of refinement from the crystal chandeliers. It can also hold up to 200 people, giving you plenty of flexibility with the guest list. The team at Friedman Farms can work with you to ensure your celebration runs smoothly. They can assist you with many vendor recommendations, including caterers, photographers, bands, florists, and even DJs. Essential rental items such as tables and chairs will also be provided, so you don't have to outsource them. Moreover, you and your photographer can explore the grounds during your stay and avail yourself of the several gorgeous backdrops for your wedding portraits.

We were guests at a wedding/reception there recently. Location, animals and views were amazing! However the temperature inside the barn during the reception was FRIGID. It certainly was not climate-controlled like I saw it said online. I had even said something to 2 staff people about the temperature in the barn, but to no avail. There were 3 heaters running, but they were not sufficient to heat the space. My husband and I actually left the reception earlier than expected- not because we wanted to- but because we were so cold that we were eager to sit in a heated vehicle! We recommend this venue for warm weather only!

The venue is beautiful and we know our guests had an amazing time. There were a few hiccups the day of that could have been avoided with better communication all around. Hiring our own planner/coordinator might have been helpful as there’s just so much going on day-of. But overall we’re glad we had our wedding here and it was a really beautiful night!

I held my wedding reception here in November after we eloped in Big Sur, CA the month before. The positives of this venue are immense. It is absolutely stunning and has so much character. The authenticity of the barn provides such a great atmosphere and leads for a lot of individual design by the party host. I loved being able to make the space my own. Virginia and Pete are an awesome team and were very helpful during our set up. It snowed pretty heavy a few days before and it affected the parking situation - however Pete made sure to guide all of our guests to a safe space to park and made it a breeze to get everyone inside on time.Some things we did have issues with were the heat and the breaking of our contract. On the Friedman Farms website, it states in bold red lettering about how they are completely heated/air conditioned now, but it fails to mention that in order to heat the barn, you will need to pay an extra $695. They charge $145 per propane heater (you need 4) which was a surprise cost the week of. Another thing that was pretty upsetting is that they broke our contract by hosting an event the Sunday after our wedding even though we were told that we would need to provide them permission to do that. We were never asked whether or not we would be ok with that and came in to grab our decorations and furniture - only to see the party using our rented chairs from another company and our linens!!! The worst part was that the owner and coordinators were aware of this! That is so wrong!! WE paid a lot of money for those chairs and if anything went wrong with them - we would have been responsible - and these random people used our chairs for FREE. The chair rental company was not aware this was happening either.The last thing I will say about this business is that you definitely do not want to be the last event of the season because they will constantly cheer and say \"YAY IT'S OUR LAST ONE!!\" or \"I am so over this, thank God you guys are the last ones.\" They were even saying these things to our guests as they arrived. It made us feel like we were some kind of burden to them even though they just collected a hefty check from us to host our event there. They definitely need to up their customer service.Overall, the beauty of the venue is what made me give four stars. It was an absolutely beautiful venue and our guests were thrilled with the evening and had an amazing time. I am not sure I would recommend it to any friends though based on the ways they made us feel personally, and the fact that they broke the contract.

Everyone was a pleasure to work with. Rob Friedman showed us the barn and let us stop by to see it multiple times before the wedding. Pete and Virginia were more than helpful leading up to and the day of the wedding. Everything went off without a hitch. The day was a dream and I couldn’t have asked for better. They were so accommodating and I couldn’t be happier with how the whole day went! All of my guests were surprised at how beautiful the venue is.

Friedman Farms is a gorgeous venue with tons of character. Poor weather meant we had to have our ceremony inside instead of up on Nuptial Point, but that didn't stop us from having a ridiculously beautiful wedding, thanks in large part to both Danielle of DPNAK and Friedman staff - it kept us calm and happy.Be aware that you'll likely need to clean up for yourself unless you hire folks to do it for you the day after. We knew this in advance and the farm will tell you super clearly, but I imagine that could be a factor for some couples who don't have time for the breakdown and cleanup.I couldn't imagine having my wedding anywhere else - super rustic vibe, beautiful hills, horses roaming, a little stream on the land, green everywhere. It's picturesque.Rob, Pete and the whole team were great - so glad we chose Friedman Farms!

absolutely beautiful venue, highly recommend if you are looking to do a rustic wedding. The whole staff is also very easy to work with and very accommodating. Had my wedding there this past summer and had an amazing experience! Highly recommend!

My husband and I got married on the grounds on a gorgeous June day, had a game hour in the large field out back and a fun-filled reception in the gorgeous barn. This location is wonderfully versatile and needs little decoration but also allows for so much personalization. The staff was so friendly and helpful as well. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a rustic, romantic barn wedding. \r\rThe grounds are gorgeous and plentiful with several locations available for onsite ceremonies. My husband and I opted to get married by the large oak tree with the horses roaming in the background. \r\rThe inside of the barn is beautifully decorated and easy to add to for your own unique style. Renting tables and chairs from them was also very easy (and inexpensive)! I absolutely love the look of the large chandeliers hanging over the wooden floors. \r\rWe had a great time and a perfect day. If we had to do it all over again, we would still use this venue!!

the venue is beautiful! But the owner is unprofessional, he came in and ate the food and drank our stuff with out even asking, if he asked it would have been fine but still really weird. The woman who is suppose to help you keep everything in time was a snob, but did her job. Pete (the one who helps you set up in the morning) is the most amazing help with a great attitude and personality! for the price and everything that is include you could not beat the deal! Amazing venue, mostly stuffy people. But over all a wonderful place.

Friedman Farms was a fantastic venue to work with. It is a family run business and they are great people to work with. You have a lot of room to be creative to make your wedding affordable. It is a beautiful venue and if we could do it all over again we would still choose Friedman Farms. We got so many compliments on our wedding. It was so relaxed and fun. We had a blast!

Friedman Farms was the best place I could have asked for in choosing a site for my reception. All the staff at the barn, especially the owner, were so accommodating and were willing to help me with anything they could. The barn was in such great condition; all my guest kept raving about it.

We rented the barn for our wedding and it was perfect. The owner was super helpful and the grounds were really well maintained. It's 100% do it yourself from start to finish so you will need to be super organized if you go this route. The owner was very accommodating and let us decorate any way we wanted. There's a chapel on site or you can use the grounds for your ceremony so rain or shine, you don't have to worry. Our guests loved it too! Highly, highly recommend.

This venue is a beautiful farm with rolling green land, live horses running around in the background and a gorgeous barn for the reception. It was unique setting that my guests loved! The best part was that the rental was for a full week (Tuesday to Monday), so we got to get in there early and set-up/decorate exactly how we wanted...which alleviated a lot of day-of stress. \rThe people who run the barn are there for you the entire week, and they have a lot of really good rentals (tables, chairs, dance floor, etc.) at a cheaper price than the other local rental companies.\rI loved my wedding at Friedman Farms, and suggest this venue to anyone who is looking for a unique and beautiful wedding setting.

This venue is a beautiful farm with rolling green land, live horses running around in the background and a gorgeous barn for the reception. It was unique setting that my guests loved! The place is absolutely beautiful as long as you can have the wedding outside. If you have to have it in the barn due to rain it wouldn't be as nice but still can be done. Its expensive to rent the barn and you have to outsource for every single thing you need (ie. Caterer, Rentals, Decorating, Alcohol) After adding all that up the wedding gets pricey. We did all our own decorating, bought all the alcohol, had to rent chairs, tables, dance floor. If you want to use the deck on the barn it is more money. If you want to use their generator for a mic'd ceremony, its extra. If you want to use the church on the grounds...you bet it's extra! haha But the owner is nice to work with and although we felt a little \"nickel and dimed\" we wouldn't have had a more beautiful setting and wedding day anywhere else! I would recommend this place to anyone!
