Front & Palmer Reviews

We worked with Rylee at F&P to coordinate our day. It was incredibly convenient to have catering and the venue in one and as a catering company first, F&P showcased some amazing food. The staff was also incredibly generous with their time and we were able to use the venue for some other meetings during our planning process. They made us feel welcome all throughout the process, not just on the day. They accommodated all of our dietary and kashrut restrictions without any concern or complaint. I believe one of our guests tripped over a light during some overly intense dancing - no fault of the venue, very much a fluke - and we had no idea on the day. The worked their magic so quickly, we only got to laugh about it later. Reviewed on 13-12-2023

Front and Palmer was the perfect place for our wedding. The venue could be transformed into anything you can imagine. And I loved that the whole place was dedicated to our wedding that day. The food was amazing, and our guests are still talking about it. The lobster mac and cheese, tater tot cones and mini spicy tuna poke bowls were huge hits. The dim sum station was probably the biggest favorite, I personally was so impressed by the shrimp shumai dumplings. The meals were the Barolo Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs, Brick Seared Chicken and Grilled and Roasted Vegetable Terrine. Looking back, I would not have chosen any other options. The braised beef short rib was amazing, people couldn't believe how good the chicken was, and I wish I got more of the vegetable terrine. The staff there was very accommodating and helpful. The bar staff was also great, and I loved our signature drinks (Blackberry Citrus Old Fashioned and Spiced Apple Cider Margarita). Front and Palmer made out wedding feel unique and I know that many of our guests loved that this was a foodie experience as well. I highly recommend this location! Reviewed on 06-12-2023

My husband and I hosted our wedding and reception at Front & Palmer in April and we are so happy we did. We absolutely recommend them - they are perfect for a city wedding! I had originally heard of F&P after seeing a friend's pictures from a wedding there and immediately knew I wanted to check the place out. They ended up being the only venue we toured as my husband and I were sold on it from the minute we arrived. The Fishtown location was perfect and F&P was very flexible in accommodating all our needs for the day. We hosted two ceremonies (Hindu & Christian) followed by our reception all in one day. Rylee and Terry ensured that everything ran smoothly and worked closely with myself and our wedding planners the year leading up to the event. The food was amazing and we heard from many of our guests that the flow of the event was perfect and that the venue was beautiful. Leading up, I had concerns that the venue may feel too small / cramped for our nearly 200 guests, however it ended up being the perfect size with a nice balance of feeling intimate without feeling too small. Lastly, while our room blocks were in old city and we had shuttles running to and from the event, my bridal party and I ended up staying at Archway Fishtown, which was the perfect place to get ready, allowing us to walk to the venue and take pictures along the way. Wish I could re-live the weekend and hope to one day attend another event at F&P! Reviewed on 27-09-2023

Samantha White(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2023 We recently got married at Front & Palmer and had the most amazing experience. The venue itself is very different and not a traditional ballroom. From the exposed beams, white wash brick, beautiful hardwood floors, and raw edge wood accents everything is just perfect. The staff was incredible so attentive they very much care about making your night everything you wanted it to be. They use local alcohol brands which we loved but you are welcome to purchase whatever else it is you may want. Their packages were reasonable compared to other Philadelphia venues but the food surpasses any other venue I have ever been to. We upgraded a lot of our food (raw bar, lamb chops, crabcakes) and it was well worth it. All of our guests spoke so highly of the venue, food, drinks, and staff. We were told it was the best wedding that anyone has ever been to multiple times. Our coordinators were absolutely perfect and we loved them. They were so helpful every step of the way and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. When there was any issues they came up with solutions that we were very pleased with. Rylee, Terri, and Anthony were such a pleasure to work with I wish I could do it again. I work as a bridal hair and make up artist and I hear so many stories about how couples are dissatisfied with their planners or venues. We are so happy we picked Front & Palmer. If great food, good drinks, and a romantic ambiance are what your looking for then I highly recommend booking your wedding here. Reviewed on 28-03-2023

I can't tell you how many guests commented and were impressed with the food and venue itself. They have an incredible attention to detail and made it so easy for us to just enjoy our wedding ceremony and reception knowing every single detail and logistic was taken care of. The interior is gorgeous and we were able to order a light packaging to get the ambience perfect for our needs. The food is incredible, and our wedding meal was one of the best meals of our life. They also gave us flexibility to add our own touches, including letting my family set out some of the table designs the night before the wedding so that we were not in a rush. We sent them a design of our wedding cake, and they fulfilled it perfectly to our requests. Anthony and Rylee were in charge of moderating everything at the event, which left us to enjoy the wedding night without any worries. We highly appreciated the careful touches that focus on the couples enjoy the night, like providing a private room with the signature cocktails and appetizers. Multiple people came up to my family to say it was one of if not the best wedding they've been to in years. All in all, Front and Palmer provided a thorough, professional, and beautiful experience that we and our families will always cherish. Reviewed on 16-11-2022

There is a warmth to the space that just feels so romantic and is a perfect setting. But in addition to the space being stunning, the food is absolutely unreal. Another thing guests cannot stop talking about. We opted for the festive dinner stations and they were soo much fun and SO delicious. I'm still dreaming of the food. The staff at F&P on our wedding night were incredibly kind and lovely and so attentive. And then Lini..the senior event stylist/superhero..where do I even start? She was so easy to work with from the start - answering all of our questions, giving us advice on the flow/logistics of our wedding, helping us envision what things would look like on our big day, and then actually being there on our big day and making us feel like the two most special people in the world. Throughout the process, you'll visit and determine a date. You'll come for an open house and sample the food. You'll meet with Lini to go through every minute detail of your wedding and ensure that you have everything you need planned. Then all you do is show up and get married. For our night, the drinks were flowing, the food was amazing, and all guests were very well taken care of. I invited a bunch of co-workers to the wedding and when I got back to work, my wedding was all anyone could talk about. It's been a week and people are still talking about our signature cocktails and the braised short rib. Alright, I am rambling. My wife and I have nothing negative to say about Front & Palmer. The team was unbelievably reliable, respectful and completely catered to our vision - and then some. We had an introduction call about a year ahead of the wedding and from day one the team was wonderful. They created a menu that not only would feed 150+ people, but did it in a way we were able to incorporate dietary needs and personal preferences. They truly went above and beyond. We served dinner family style and it was a huge hit! People were able to eat what they wanted and didn’t need to look at veggies if they didn’t want to, haha. FYE also brought a popcorn machine at the end of the night. I could go on and on about how wonderful they are and delicious the food is. Lini was an absolute dream to work with - she is organized, on top of EVERYTHING, and extremely collaborative. She really helped us bring our vision to life and make our experience totally seamless. Jeanna Cooper(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-11-2017 We held our wedding + reception one year ago at F&P and wanted to share our experience. We attended their tasting event to decide on our menu and cake options a few months after booking. The event goes very quickly so be sure to be on time, try everything, write quick notes and/or use a ranking system to help you make your menu decisions. The food was overall pretty good. We were underwhelmed by the cakes & particularly the frostings.Shortly after you’ll meet with your coordinator to decide your options & your notes are very helpful to make your decisions. During this meeting we had inquired if we could use their chocolate grenache filling as our frosting for our chocolate on chocolate cake. Lini advised she would check with the baker once she returned from maternity leave. We also expressed we no fondant on our cake. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication to the baker & a mistake was made on the cake decor color. Our cake was chocolate with white frosting covered in fondant & gold instead of silver decor. Lini was very defensive on our wedding day when I told her it was not the cake we ordered. The venue reimbursed us $300 for our trouble & offered to make a use new cake so we could have something to save. We declined, it was going to a be a bitter memory we didn’t want today when we would have been enjoying. You will need to submit a recipe for your signatures cocktails that are served during cocktail hour. The venue cannot accommodate a request to taste their version of the cocktail. I hope someday they will offer that as our cocktails did not at all taste as they should have. The venue had a failed to check the ordering requirements for our special ingredient with enough time for our wedding. I was very annoyed to be called 2 days before with this news & baffled when they asked if we had any at home. I recommended they call the bar where the recipe came from or google it. Lini did visit multiple liquor stores in NJ but it is not available except through PLCB or closer to NYC. At rehearsal I was told they found a solution but that resulted in a cocktail that did not taste as intended. I would recommend having very simple cocktails for your signature drinks. Outside of the cake and drinks the food and service was great. They are extremely efficient with serving meals so more time to enjoy your party. Everyone was well fed during cocktail hour. The bartenders kept the drinks flowing & then line never seemed long. It’s a challenge to feed a large volume of people & they make it look easy. Everyone enjoyed their food and it came out hot. We went from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception & didn’t feel rushed or crowded & the large space still felt intimate. They did a great job of flipping the space & setting it up perfectly for an amazing party. We returned the day after our wedding to pick up our stuff & inquired to Lini about our cake. We had a stressful meeting with the baker, her staff & Lini. We were heartbroken to not have a wedding cake we loved. The baker apologized whole heartily & was very upset she didn’t make the cake we asked for. It was an unfortunate situation that could have been prevented with proper communication from Lini. At the meeting we tried to explain to Lini that despite this we had a wonderful wedding, but she ran away from us hysterically crying. We would recommend F&P future couples? Maybe, and we would suggest taking our experience into consideration. Reviewed on 13-11-2018

Alexandra Panchella(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-10-2018 Front and Palmer was the first and last wedding venue that my husband and I looked at. We were looking for a unique space that was something different from your traditional ballroom wedding venue and Front and Palmer. It is very much a blank slate where you can tailor the venue to reflect your own style and personal touches. I will say that if you desire a lot of the things that aren’t included in F&P’s package (e.g. farmhouse tables, ghost chairs, special lighting, special or additional alcohol or food), things can get pretty pricey, pretty quickly. However, there is absolutely a cost efficient way to prioritize and get creative with planning your wedding here. We worked with Lini for the duration of planning our wedding and she was great about promptly responding to emails and phone calls. She was overall very accommodating, organized, and helpful throughout the entire process.Other than the space itself, we received so many compliments about the food at F&P! I hear so many stories of couples enjoying the food at their tasting and then the day of the wedding it was completely different. This was completely not the case at F&P. Coming from a couple with family and friends who are obsessed with food, almost everyone agreed that it was “the best wedding food ever”. I would definitely recommend the short rib. I always think that the temperature of a steak is too difficult to cook for 100s of people, so the short rib was perfect. Jake Matthews(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-06-2016 It is difficult to write this review as our wedding as absolutely beautiful and I wouldn’t have wanted it anywhere else. Pros: F&P has a beautiful space with much and character and many unique elements. (Just look at the light fixtures)! It is laid out very well so that reception area is separate from the cocktail hour area, which remains open all night and has very nice lounge furniture. Almost everything you need is included in the standard package, which leads to few budget surprises. Food and beverage are well above average for your standard wedding fare. They have tons of options, many of which are very unique and certainly not traditional. The event coordinator, Lini, treats each event with much care, shares her ideas and brings cool ideas. Despite many vendors and others in the Philly community assuring us that Lini and F&P were the best in the business, we had a few small disappointments on the day of. It became apparent during the last weeks leading up to the wedding that there were communication breakdowns that led to these surprises. For example, our cake was the wrong color. Everything in our wedding was purple and silver and the cake looked very blue. I gasped when I saw it. I may sound like a “Bridezilla,” but it looked so out of place, especially on the purple sequin. That is one downside of the venue handling the cake. Also, we chose our meals the day after attending a tasting and chose a steak dish from the tasting, but it was not the steak they served at the wedding. I’m not sure whether they altered the dish between the tasting and wedding or just got the order wrong, but my husband and I immediately said, “this is the wrong steak.” I feel that F&P over-promised on logistics and speed of service. The event was smooth but not flawless. We lost 30 minutes of dance time, and I’m not sure why. The service just felt slow, which I probably wouldn’t have even noticed if F&P hadn’t made a point of telling me that they serve X meals and Y minutes and how logistically sound they were. Katelyn Petrov(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-04-2016 Front and Palmer was our first and last stop in our search for the perfect wedding venue. My husband and I knew what we didn’t want: your typical ballroom/country club wedding. We were getting married in the beginning of April, so we were looking for a non-traditional indoor space. Front and Palmer, with its rustic-industrial feel (high ceilings, metal beams, hardwood floors, cool chandeliers), was better than we could have imagined. Guests are still commenting on how amazing the space was.The food is incredibly high quality. Unlike many weddings, the food at Front and Palmer is not an after-thought, it’s the main event. We received countless comments on how delicious the wedding food was.On top of that, the staff was unbelievable to work with. Everyone we interacted with was professional, responsive and extremely helpful. Lini was a true godsend. Truly, it was like working with our own personal wedding planner. She promptly answered all questions, gave honest opinions and advice, helped schedule out our event, and then ensured that we were running on time on the day of the wedding. She has our highest praise and you’ll be in wonderful hands if you get to work with her. On the day of, we also worked with Joanne, who was fabulous. There is a reason we didn’t feel the need to look at any other venues after visiting Front and Palmer. We cannot recommend this venue enough! Reviewed on 19-04-2016
Tina Marie DiCroce(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-04-2014 My husband and I worked with Lini Skiba who helped coordinate everything from start to finish -- ceremony to reception -- no details were lost. She was amazing to work with! The venue with its hardwood floors, soaring ceilings, chandeliers, great white lounge furniture, etc. is absolutely beautiful, created the perfect atmosphere for our ceremony and reception, and was SO impressive to our guests. The food by Feast Your Eyes Catering was also fantastic and I actually had guests approach me during the cocktail hour and reception to tell me it was the best food they've ever had a wedding! (We had stations and served Philly cheesesteaks, roast pork sandwiches, and fries at a \"South Philly\" station and we had tons of Asian food at our other station, including miso-glazed cod, edamame dumplings, sweet and sour chicken skewers... our ONLY complaint would be that the food did not stay out long enough. We were told it would be out so guests could continue to graze, but I received feedback from guests that they took the food away fairly quickly. That would obviously be something to address with more emphasis for a future event. Other than that, I'd have to say the event was perfect from start to finish and went off without a hitch! We couldn't be happier we chose Front & Palmer as our venue!! Reviewed on 21-05-2014

Wow! If you are looking for a unique venue to have your event in Philadelphia, with fantastic food & service- look no further. While it may look a little shady from the outside- F&P is a true hidden gem in the city. Once you step inside you will be amazed at how they have renovated this old pickle barrel warehouse into a one-of-a-kind venue with gorgeous chandeliers, furniture and decor. All of my guests commented on how delicious the food was. My assigned coordinator was Elisabeth who was responsive, friendly and all around wonderful to deal with. I could not be more happy with our choice of wedding venue! Reviewed on 21-08-2013

Brittany Bisceglia(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 24-09-2011 It's so hard to find a unique space in Philadelphia. Front & Palmer is an open space that was once a pickle barrel factory! It's located right by the El, north of Girard Ave. Nobody knew what to expect when they arrived outside the plain building, but everyone loved the space once they came in. I was able to come 2 days before to add whatever decorations I wanted. My coordinator there, Lini, was so amazing and helped us through everything. The space was so warm and perfect for my wedding of around 85 guests. They set up candles everywhere and the whole space had a beautiful glow. They have an in-house caterer with amazing food. Check out one of their tasting parties to get the full effect of the potential Front & Palmer has! Reviewed on 07-10-2011
