Full Moon Resort, located just one half hour west of Woodstock and about two and half hours from NYC, offers a rustic, yet sophisticated Catskill Mountains backdrop for one-of-a-kind, full-service destination weddings. Idyllic, pastoral and farm-like, with a touch of Woodstock-inspired charm, Full Moon Resort features over one hundred acres of meadows, forests and streams, along with a variety of lodging options, suited to a range of budgets... for your entire group of friends and family. From simple country inn style rooms to luxury studio cottages with panoramic views, Full Moon offers the full spectrum of accommodations.
The facility hosts lovely outdoor creekside ceremonies (complete with covered locations for inclement weather), followed by cocktails and a reception, either at the Barn or at the exquisite wedding pavilion, for intimate to very large (300+) gatherings. The celebration is topped off with late night socializing at the "Roadhouse," infused with Catskills ambiance. Glistening winter weddings are an option as well.
Full Moon's on-premises catering menus offer a full range of possibilities – hot buffet breakfasts and lunches and down-home country barbeques at the Barn (campfire included!), along with tantalizing hors d’oeuvres as a prelude to formal gourmet dinners in the Pavilion. Full bar services, offering a variety of options, are also available. Couples are invited to sample their catering selections at a specially designed wedding "tasting."
From set up to clean up, the venue staff go above and beyond to enhance each couple’s special day. This full service facility is also noted for years of outstanding event management and planning services. A wonderful setting for a magical Catskills wedding.
There’s not a single thing I would have changed, and I was nervous as all hell going in. All our non-Full Moon-related wedding planning was so stressful that, as the weekend approached, I started getting worried that the whole thing wouldn’t be worth it. Trust me when I say: it was worth it and then some. The site is gorgeous - the exact combination of spaciousness and intimacy that we were looking for. We really wanted a place where everyone could stay onsite, and where we wouldn’t be forced into a crappy hotel bar at 11pm when the venue closed. We got the adult summer camp experience of our dreams. Placing all our guests in their accommodations was definitely an intense logic puzzle, but that level of hands-on was exactly what we wanted, and the tiered price points made it possible for basically all our guests to stay onsite with us. The food is AMAZING. I was definitely nervous signing a contract without getting to try anything, especially since we had gone to other tastings and been underwhelmed. But we loved everything we picked out (still dreaming about that duck) and got compliment after compliment on the food. Pro-tip: pace yourself at that tasting day…The staff went above and beyond. They've got to be the nicest people in the business. Morgan, Tia, Kayla, Nikki, Paul, our catering staff, security - everyone we came in contact with made us feel welcome and taken care of. From the moment we arrived, my heartbeat started to slow down. They made it possible to stop worrying and actually enjoy our own wedding. And it doesn’t feel like a wedding factory! These are people who love people, and their personal touches were so appreciated. I would have loved to have had a wedding planner overall to help manage the craziness (I produce theater, I thought a wedding would be a piece of cake...nope!), but you really don't need a day of coordinator here. The staff takes care of everything, seamlessly. And even in the lead up, they're extremely organized and communicative. They keep you on top of all the decisions you have to make, and walk you through the process clearly and thoroughly. Our guests have been gushing about our wedding all year, and it’s all thanks to Full Moon. I hope we have friends who wind up getting married here down the line, because I desperately want an excuse to come back. Reviewed on 06-01-2024

The TL;DR of this review is that we were very lucky to book with Full Moon when we did; everything about our experience was much better than we had a right to expect for our budget, and what impressed me the most was how naturally their service and program matched itself to the personal choices we made throughout. This is a professional wedding venue that will still support your idiosyncratic preferences. I truly cannot recommend them enough.HIGHLIGHTS:FOOD. Everyone else has said it, but the food is bonkers good. We tried multiple venues with integrated catering and this was just no comparison. The duck was worth tears. Accommodations for dietary restrictions were consistent and comprehensive. We are artist millennials with a bunch of friends with a variety of millennial allergies and intolerances. Even a 12-person dinner is often an impossible logic problem. Full Moon handled that ish with no problem, sweat, or extra charge. The chef should have a national award. SERVICE. Morgan was our top-line coordinator but Kayla and Nikki were the front-line coordinators working with us. They did an amazing job not panicking when the bride's mother held up the ceremony by 20 minutes. We are type-A people, with some type-A members of our families, and the entire coordinating staff did a great job not only stepping in when necessary but stepping BACK when necessary when they saw us taking the wheel, especially on our little jewish-secular hybrid wedding. They got lunch to the bridal party, kept an eye on everyone clutch's location, and even wrote us some great advice in our advice boxes. Personal touches throughout! Tia did a great job on preshow management too, and even Paul who toured us on the venue was a warm and welcoming presence. The team just made it impossible not to have a wonderful experience. Everything went right, and we've done enough producing to know that's not a coincidence -- it's because of the diligence of the organization and the people working there.THE LOCATION: We always wanted onsite accommodations somewhere beautiful. We got it. I will tell you right now: if you're looking at Full Moon, you might get some grousing from people who are looking for the cheapest possible accommodation. Encourage them to stay on-site. Are the basic rooms the height of luxury? No. But every time we see someone who was at our wedding, they tell us it was the best one they went to all year. It's because of the on-site. We were all at summer camp together for a perfect weekend in May. And the mountains! It was dreamy. Here's the real tip. We got a major discount because we saw the venue in December and agreed to take an open date in May. This was nuts for us on the planning side, but it meant that we had a lot of room to negotiate with the folks at Full Moon. You will not get every discount you can imagine, but when you book with Full Moon you're dealing with real humans the whole way down -- which means they are available for any conversation you want to have around pricing, plans, extras, etc. How often do you go through something like this without feeling nickeled and dimed by the vendor? Not once did we have that feeling with Full Moon. They're the greatest. Six stars. Reviewed on 06-01-2024

I cannot say enough good things about Full Moon and the incredible staff. Huge shoutout to all the amazing people who made our wedding possible, with Morgan having kept everything together with confidence and efficiency. When we decided to take one of the only available dates in August, four months away, Morgan and team assured us that we'd be able to pull it off. Sure enough, with the incredibly beautiful facilities that Full Moon has, we had a super special wedding that all of our guests felt was super unique. The venue accommodated all of our special requests, including using the pool for a final 'Plunge into Love' ceremony the day after the wedding. The fact that all of our guests stayed the night on the property, and that the whole place was just our people gave the whole event a warm feeling that you just can't get from a standard 5 hour wedding. Whether you are booking a 2 day wedding or a 1 day wedding (like us), you will get much much more intimacy and togetherness than any other standard venue. Last but not least, the food was DELICIOUS! How often can you say that about a wedding venue? Reviewed on 02-01-2024

We got married at Full Moon Resort October 20-22nd weekend and truly had the most amazing weekend! From our first visit with Paul over a year before our wedding, we knew this venue was special. We were looking for a venue where the majority of our guests could stay on-site, spend quality time together and escape in nature. Full Moon provided all of that and more! We got so many compliments on how much people enjoyed the setting, meeting in the barn for their meals and the full weekend of programming from the welcome dinner and bonfire, to yoga the morning of the wedding, farewell brunch and being able to explore the property and nearby towns. The staff went above and beyond to make sure all of our requests were taken care of and our questions were answered - and trust me I had a lot! Even though Full Moon was juggling planning multiple weddings (50+ to be exact), they always made me feel like I had their undivided attention and were willing to get on as many calls as I wanted starting from the day we signed the contract. When it came to the day of the wedding, we knew we were in great hands! I was a very hands on bride and Morgan, Nikki and Clare are true pros and gave me full confidence to let go and enjoy the day myself! They managed the entire timeline including some last minute weather changes. We are still receiving compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed the food, stunning venue and full weekend experience. Thank you to the entire Full Moon Staff especially Morgan and Tia!! When we found this venue we knew it was the one. We had so many family members and friends traveling from afar so the lodging on site options were everything we could have dreamed of. From the day we said yes to the venue the team at Full Moon were amazing, communicative, and helpful. They suggested outside vendors for us and quickly, answered all our questions and helped guide us through the whole wedding planning process. They handle all the planning/ times to arrive with your vendors for you which is such a relief and the last thing you want to be doing weeks leading up to your big day. They were so accommodating when we met them for the tasting, taking into consideration all of the dietary needs, and little things we wanted to add. (THE FOOD IS AMAZING!) We had our wedding at the end of October and they were so helpful and perfectly relayed information with rain plans, switching things up and being around day of when we needed them. Their staff is unparalleled. We chose to just do a weekend designer/ florist, which is all you need. The staff helps you with everything; timeline, day of, walking down the aisle, meeting guests needs, etc. I cannot praise the staff enough. They made us laugh and helped me especially relax. I am a very hands on person and it was awesome to have the staff ease that off my shoulders, I knew 100% they had it under control. It is such a well organized venue. Our parents had so many phone calls from family and friends about how amazing their stay there was. The Full Moon turned our dream day into a dream weekend. Cannot thank them enough. We got married at Full Moon on 9/15-17/2023 and truly had the best and most magical weekend of our lives! From start to finish the Full Moon team was extremely organized and kept us organized as well. Morgan was our main day-of-coordinator and answered zillions of questions throughout our 9 month planning process, and Tia was our main reservations and logistics person for the housing. They were both fantastic to work with, very responsive and very helpful in figuring out solutions for all of our questions. The larger team including Kayla, Claire, Nicole, Josh were all also awesome, very kind, and flexible. Michael and Paul helped us with the initial venue visit and contract and were very professional. We really wanted to have a wedding where many of our friends and family could stay nearby or on-site, and combine some summer camp vibes with an Indian wedding, and Full Moon really nailed it! We had a Sangeet, games day, golf-cart baarat, outdoor ceremony and reception across various parts of the venue. Everyone had an amazing time (including us!) and multiple friends said it was one of the most fun and unique weddings they'd attended! Chef Adam worked with us closely to create an Indian fusion menu, and the food was truly delicious (even per our family members visiting from India). Specifically the Indian fish dish and pau bhaji were amazing. All the American fare for lunches/breakfasts was also great. We missed our cocktail hour food due to photos, but guests said all the hors d'oeuvres (Indian and American) were great too!Setting up the housing logistics was definitely a challenging puzzle, but Tia walked us through as much as she could. Wedding planning is definitely stressful, but FMR made it as smooth as it could be, and we would highly recommend the venue to anyone who wants an outdoor fun wedding in a beautiful serene landscape with excellent food and services! Some recommendations to make your lives easier if you choose this venue:1. Fewer but better cooked Indian dishes is the way to go, and you can bring some Indian sweets of your own.2. Figure out how cake cutting will occur if you want it in front of guests3. 1000% play games on Sat on the fields- our morning field day was many guests favorite part of the weekend!4. Visually map out your accommodation and table seating charts on Google Sheets before translating them into FMR docs5. Ensure you have non-immediate family responsible for paying vendors on the day. Assign an aunt, cousin, close family friend to keep track of the checks/cash. Reviewed on 06-11-2023

Words can't begin to describe how we feel about Full Moon Resort and their ENTIRE team. Starting with Paul who showed us the facility not once but twice over, help from Tia, Morgan, Corrine, Claire leading up to the day and finally working with everyone including Josh, Kayla, Nikki, Kaitlyn and more! The team was highly attentive to our requests and we felt like we could focus on our wedding moment by moment. There was no stress for us, and it was evident that the team works very well together and communicates extremely effectively. We had the most magical wedding day and enjoyed the following days including the bbq, campfire and relaxing on the grounds with family. We are still glowing as we write this review about a month later! The facility is clean, quiet, modern, and yet rustic. The grounds are well taken care of, and the views of the surrounding mountains cannot be beat. This site is the premiere spot for events in the Catskills. One thing we were particularly unsure about was having to make a room chart for our guests, however, Tia and team were amazing in assistance and made this such a smooth process. We fully recommend Full Moon Resort and can’t wait to stay there again as an Airbnb. Reviewed on 31-10-2023

We used Full Moon catering and wedding coordination services for our wedding at the Bearsville Theater. We booked their services never having tried the food so we were a bit nervous; however, there was no need to be nervous as the food was amazing! We had an all vegetarian wedding and were extremely impressed with the portion sizes and the quality of the food. The chef was very kind and professional and we had the opportunity to meet with him twice before our wedding to ensure we were happy with the food (which we were!). Our coordinator, Morgan, was also extremely knowledgable and responsive. I was a bit of an anxious bride, and she answered my many e-mails kindly, always providing suggestions and advice to my many questions, which were sometimes even about information that would be beyond the scope of what was typically her job. She was very accommodating and professional, and we felt safe knowing she was handling all of our logistics. We can't thank her enough for all her help! Reviewed on 22-10-2023

And the value for your money is absolutely there: the 100 acre grounds are stunning, the accommodations clean and comfortable, and the food delicious. Unlike similar mountain resorts, the overall aesthetic of this place is not at all kitschy or too in-your-face, but instead allows the natural beauty to take center stage. Not only were the picturesque surroundings breathtaking, but we loved that all of our friends and family could stay on site. Moreover, FMR and their incredible team provide everything you could need including amazing food, pre and day-of coordination, as well as recommendations for vendors such as florists, photographers, etc. to make planning as easy as possible. From the start of our planning journey, the staff was impeccable. Kind, warm, knowledgable and extremely on top of everything. They were patient and accommodating, and just a joy to get to know. From their chef, to bar manager, to event manager and everyone in between, we could not have asked to encounter a kinder group of people. The food was AMAZING; breakfast, lunch, and dinners were all delicious. Multiple people said this was the best wedding food they've had. We opted for the tapas style and got an amazing mix of passed hors d'oeuvres and entrees. Special mention to the custom mozzarella sticks they made for us, as well as the coconut shrimp which you should absolutely not miss.We had a delicious funfetti cake prepared in-house (I definitely recommend having FMR make your cake, they're so talented and the cakes are GORGEOUS), and they also accommodated two special beverage requests for the night-before BBQ (a rum punch) and the reception (make your own gin and tonics with local garnishes—I mean, come on!).We had a gorgeous cocktail hour on the lawn prior to the reception and it was one of the most stunning settings (plus an amazing meat and cheese board which is very important to me :)The after party was at the Roadhouse, their on-site bar, and that was an absolute blast. They also delivered some late-night pizzas which were must-appreciated by our guests. The accommodations were lovely and I can't stress enough how special it was to have everyone stay on sight. Everyone go to know each other and bond over the weekend; so many unexpected and wonderful connections were made.My husband and I can quite literally say this was the best weekend of our lives so if you're looking for a place to get married in upstate NY, this is the place to do it. The scenery is majestic, the food is delicious, and the wedding experience from both the couple and the guests perspective is unforgettable. But the staff here is what truly sets this place apart. From the moment we arrived on the property for our first walkthrough, we were greeted with friendly smiles and warm welcoming attitudes. We met with Paul the sales manager who walked us through the Full Moon Wedding experience and all that the property could offer both us and our guests. Paul drove us around and enthusiastically helped us visualize how the weekend would go. He was engaging, informative, and passionate about his job and the venue in general. Full Moon offered exactly what we were looking for, a close-to-nature style wedding surrounded by family and friends in one location.Once we decided to move forward with booking Full Moon Paul handed us over to the wedding coordination team. We personally worked closely with Tia and Morgan who were both fantastic. Tia was the reservations specialist/coordinator and she helped us navigate everything from what to include in our save the dates and invitations all the way through finalizing reservations and room assignments for our guests. They were always flexible and quick to respond.Morgan went above and beyond for us to help us make our wedding everything we could have hoped for and more. She was always positive and spent a lot of time with us on the phone going over things line by line to make sure we were on the same page and nothing fell through the cracks. My wife came up with an idea for our florist to teach a floral arranging workshop the morning of our wedding, but first she ran in by Morgan to get the go ahead. Morgan was really into the idea and took time out of her schedule to hop on a call with our florist to make sure it all went off without a hitch. Throughout the entire process from start to finish Morgan was by our side making sure by the time we got to FMR for our wedding weekend there were no loose ends left. We always say we could not have done it without her and that’s a fact. Aside from the key players we worked closely with every member of the staff was just fantastic. Additional shoutouts to Josh, Phoebe, and Alexis. Our guests felt well taken care of and there is just a homey, comfortable vibe that makes you as the couple feel 100% certain you made the right choice. The reception that evening was all that we could have asked for. The warmly lit space held our 105 gusts perfectly with plenty of space for dancing. We opted for the Tapas style dinner and we were super happy with the result. The food was ready on time, each dish was plated thoughtfully, and each bite was delicious. The tapas style dinner was well received by our guests who were excited about the idea of trying multiple dishes, eating until they were full and doing it at their own pace. Chef Adam and his team did a wonderful job with all aspects of the culinary experience. We have family from all around the country, and loved the idea of having a full weekend of events, all in the same place, at a private resort where everyone could stay on the property. Full Moon really delivered on all our venue requirements. First of all, the scenery was STUNNING, and we hit the peak of fall foliage just right. People loved the \"Welcome BBQ\" in the barn Friday night. We had people dress up in Western outfits, and the father of the grooms' band played live music. People even got to enjoy roasting S'mores at the fire pit right outside the barn. On Saturday morning, guests walked around the grounds and did local activities, like visit Woodstock. Our ceremony was outside near the creek (but they had a solid back up plan under a tent in case of inclement weather). It was a little chilly outside, and the staff was more than happy to provide warm cider at the ceremony site. Our reception was in the \"Moondance Pavilion,\" which comfortably fit our 175 people, but we did not even use the upstairs loft, and was perfect for dancing the night away. Our guests raved about the food, both at cocktail hour and dinner. I was impressed that they were able to serve a perfectly cooked steak to that many people! The afterparty took place in the Roadhouse Tavern right across the road (~2 min walk), which kept the energy going and offered late night snacks. To cap it off, Sunday brunch in the barn was delicious, and the perfect way to send off our friends and family. Not only was the actual wedding so seamless, thanks to their clear experience throwing events, the planning process was very easy. From our first tour in Jan 2021, we felt welcomed by the staff, and could tell they were very capable. We had our tasting in Nov 2021, and got to meet with all the staff to choose food and beverages. The resort has a variety of cabins and \"ski lodge style\" houses, and when we visited the venue, we got to tour every room at the resort to help decide where to place our friends and family. Throughout the planning process, Tia was amazing at helping us coordinate the rooming situation. I will say that this was more complicated than organizing a seating chart, but in the end, our guests were very happy with the accommodations. We did not hire a separate wedding planner. While it took a lot of effort from us to coordinate and organize guest lists, working with Morgan and Phoebe and all of the full moon staff made it very easy to execute our vision. Morgan and Phoebe were amazing, not only from our meetings 1-2 months out, but they took over everything during the wedding weekend. Phoebe frequently checked in on me (the bride), brought me drinks and water, and even helped me change into my afterparty dress. However, nothing compares to the onsite wedding coordinators, Alexis Hernandez and Phoebe Hoolihan. They were incredibly professional, experienced and so very friendly. Sophie Mann(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-06-2022 Wow - where to begin!!! Getting married at Full Moon Resort was far and away the BEST decision we made as a couple - we cannot begin to describe how magical this place is and how wonderful its people are, but we will give it a try...First - location and ambience - it had exactly what we were looking for - beautiful outdoor spaces, different buildings, all events being on site to avoid any travel headaches / coordination, the ability for 110+ guests to stay on site with you, etc. The ceremony site is a DREAM and I cannot tell you how relaxed I felt the day of my wedding watching friends and family gather and hang out on the lawn and play games. So fun!! There are so many locations on site too so you don't feel like you're repeating the motions with every event - BBQ can be in the barn, ceremony by the water, reception in the Pavilion, and the after party in the best dive-bar-y place \"Roadhouse.\" Again - all 10000% walkable and so so easy.Second - the people. From our first conversation with Full Moon, we knew we were in good hands. The people who work here are absolute professionals, know how to throw and manage a wedding, and are simply the kindest and most excited people to work with. They do this EVERY WEEKEND (twice!!) and I still always felt like I was a priority. My questions were answered quickly, they were always willing to get on the phone to chat anything through. The wedding weekend itself went off without a hitch because they were so well organized. I DID NOT hire a wedding planner, and do not regret that decision for a second given how amazing they were. I was always in excellent hands. Third - food - truly amazing. Breakfast, lunch, and both dinners were superb. People came up to us and told us it was some of the best steak they had ever had (not just at a wedding... ever!). The chef was great during tasting and sat with us to chat through our options. I really could go on and on... but needless to say, we will be thinking about this weekend for the rest of our lives. Honestly can't believe how perfect this weekend was and how much FUN I had (with very limited stress) throughout. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful place run by amazing, attentive individuals where all your guests can relax for the weekend - THIS IS YOUR SPOT. Run don't walk Reviewed on 13-07-2022
Emily Lopez(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-03-2022 Full Moon Resort was a terrific venue, and we recommend them wholeheartedly. The minute we stepped at the venue we knew we would love it. They were very easy to work with throughout the planning process--we had a lovely tour with our families, and very much enjoyed the tasting session they offer for all couples. There is a lot of work involved in terms of assigning people to rooms (it is your responsibility as the couple to assign them like you would assign table seating) and deciding on a menu, but the preparation is very much worth it. We had a wonderful time on our wedding weekend--the staff was truly outstanding and thought of EVERYTHING even before we did. The food was fantastic, and there was plenty to eat for everyone. From breakfast, lunch and dinner it was all so so so good. A number of our guests had dietary restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, food allergies, etc) and all said that there was plenty of delicious food for them to eat, unlike other weddings they’ve attended. The drinks were fantastic, the cake was delicious and so so beautiful. The service was perfect, all the event spaces and lodging areas were beautiful. The staff was terrific in terms of keeping everything flowing effectively. The value, especially for a winter wedding, is really unmatched, and we evaluated dozens of venues. It was a perfect location, a perfect wedding, and we recommend them without reservation. I think people get this a lot, but we’ve had friends months later tell us it was their favorite and most fun wedding venue they’d ever been too. Thank you so much to Alexis, Morgan, Tia, Consuelo and everyone at the FMR! Reviewed on 12-06-2022
Meaghan O(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-06-2022 Full Moon Resort gave us a wedding that was better than our wildest dreams. First, they were incredibly responsive to our inquiry emails, were quick to schedule a tour, and were very patient with all of the follow up questions and concerns we had as a couple having a 230 person wedding. They answered all of our questions without delay, since they have weddings there ~4 times a week during spring and summer there is nothing they haven't seen yet. Planning was seamless thanks to the Front Desk Manager Tia, Reservations Assistant Manager Kimmy, and the Event team Morgan, Alexis, Phoebe, and Josh. It always felt like all hands were on deck, they were so accommodating and understanding with all of the reservations. Our tasting at the venue was really fun and personal. The food is delicious. We spent the wedding weekend Fri-Sun at Full Moon and it could not have been better. Our family and friends had such a great time. The accommodations were beautiful and comfortable, the food was delicious and plentiful (they were so considerate to all with any kind of food allergy or restriction - amazing), and the locations for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are unbeatable! Our guests enjoyed the BBQ the night before with a camp fire afterwards. The day of the wedding before the ceremony at 5pm our guests were playing lawn games, going for a hike, lunching in Woodstock, or swimming in the Full Moon gorgeous, clean pool. It was a perfect weekend, we are so grateful for this place. Thank you! Reviewed on 10-06-2022
Adi Dzen(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-05-2022 The best decision we made in the planning process was choosing Full Moon Resort. From beginning to end they were helpful, flexible, responsive, and thoughtful. Throughout the lead up, the coordinators for rooms and and event production, Morgan and Tia, were quick to respond and so incredibly helpful. Since we were a postponed wedding from June 2021, in the time between our original signing (March 2020) and our actual wedding (May 2022), some of their policies had changed. Both of them were so flexible with us in honoring our first agreement.Full Moon had space to accommodate majority of our wedding guests to sleep on site, in a variety of buildings. We spent a great deal of time and energy ensuring guests were in comfortable lodging appropriately priced for them (full moon has a range). This was definitely the height of pressure we felt planning, but made the rest (seating chart etc,) feel like a breeze. Additionally, it provided a major benefit that made our wedding so incredible for us- everyone was a short walk away from the reception and after party. On the wedding weekend, the staff was exceptional. Nearly every guest we spoke to had wonderful things to say about the staff going above and beyond. They made sure all the dietary needs of our guests and vendors were met. Our weekend had lots of unpredictable rain (including in the middle of the outdoor ceremony). Full moon shuttled our guests where they needed to be, and moved umbrellas from place to place to make sure guests stayed dry. Because it's an all inclusive wedding venue, so many things that in other circumstances might have been stressful, were taken off our plates by full moon (ex: moving our cooler and drinks around for day time events, when a guest handed us a gift in the middle of an event, someone always offered to bring it to our room for us, and so much more).Despite the rain, there were so many indoor/outdoor covered spaces for our guests to be, so even those who were very COVID-conscious had options to stay included. The food was incredible-- both from our perspective and the guest perspective. We saw clean plates at our reception and heard so many good things. The food at related events (breakfast, lunch, bbq dinner) was also equally delicious.Overall, our wedding weekend at full moon was magical from start to finish. You will not be disappointed if you choose Full Moon Resort. Reviewed on 19-05-2022
Joe O'Connor(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-05-2022 My wife and I held our wedding at Full Moon Resort in May 2022, and could not have dreamed for a more perfect weekend. In searching for a wedding venue, we wanted a location that could house guests on-site, cater to an Indian and all-vegetarian menu and that had a woods/mountainous ambiance. Full Moon Resort hit all three of those priorities out of the park and went so far beyond our expectations! From the start, the FMR team was phenomenal. Paul was our first contact. He gave us a great tour, and was very upfront with all the relevant costs and best ways to utilize the resort to fulfill our vision of a Hindu wedding. Our conversations with him made for a seamless, and quick, negotiation of the event contract. Once we signed on, the FMR event team was so supportive. From Tia helping us organize our guests across FMR's lodging to Morgan and Alexis' support on planning all the on-site logistics to Phoebe, Roberto and team executing our design vision with perfection and being by our side all weekend to ensure everything was well taken care of.The food and drinks were also beyond fantastic. Adam's team in the kitchen provided superb meals all weekend - including catering to a group of guests that had very particular dietary needs. It was also so special to us to serve an all-vegetarian Indian menu the night of our wedding. Josh was also instrumental in helping us put together a great wine and beer selection. Our guests were also extremely comfortable in all the lodgings. We utilized all of FMR's housing, except for the satellite locations, and received all positive feedback from our guests. We truly could not have had a more magical wedding weekend. We highly recommend other couples seeking a resort-style wedding weekend to strongly consider Full Moon Resort. From the second we stepped foot on the property to take a tour over 3 years ago until the day we drove off the property after our celebration (they even called to say they found my jacket/wallet and shipped them to NJ for us) everything was like a dream. We were scheduled to have our wedding on March 28, 2020 and on March 14th we had to make the impossible decision to postpone our big day due to Covid.Full Moon worked us every step of the way through 2 postponements and the craziness that was the pandemic. They made sure we were taken care of and that our guests wanted for nothing. As a bride, I’ve truly never felt so heard and valued as I did during our wedding weekend. Morgan, Tia, Phoebe, Alexis, Katelyn, and every single other person involved made sure it was the perfect day we waited 3 years for!Our guests truly couldn’t stop raving about the food, the grounds, the hospitality, and the unique vibe only Full Moon can guarantee. Zachary Schirle(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-11-2021 We cannot thank Full Moon enough for the amazing wedding weekend we had. Our original wedding date was a week before NY went on full lock down so we had to cancel due to covid. The resort was so flexible and easy to work with to get the wedding rescheduled, not once, but twice. They really worked with us to make sure we had the wedding we had originally planned and everything went beautifully. It made waiting almost an extra 2 years full worth it. The grounds are breathtaking, especially on days like the foggy winter days we had. Alexis and Morgan were always quick to respond to us and really helped to make the weekend special. If you're hesitating to go for a visit, I highly recommend you do so and see it for yourself. Pictures don't do it justice and it's really worth seeing for yourself. We worked with them for over a year, spanning 3 weddings dates due to covid, and at every step they were kind, accomodating, and positive. But none of this prepared us for how truly incredible the event and the magical staff would be. The setting is breathtaking. The food, mouthwater. The team, above and beyond. And the value, INSANE. 6 Months later we still have guests reaching out to say what a great time they had and how much they want to go back. It's hard to capture what a tight and welcoming ship they run - but I urge you if you're on the fence GO WITH FULL MOON. You will be so happy you did! Reviewed on 21-01-2022
Tia Nicholas(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2021 We truly cannot say enough incredible things about Full Moon Resort, there are not enough stars to rate how amazing this place is! Knowing we wanted something with a rustic vibe that was unique while still being upscale - we fell in love with the venue and property the first time we visited. Nestled within the Catskill mountains, the property is truly breathtaking at any time of year (we originally visited in the Winter and the snow on the ground made everything look and feel like a beautiful Winter Wonderland). From the day we started planning all the way through and even after our wedding day, Michael and the entire staff at Full Moon Resort could not have been more wonderful to work with as well as accommodating along the way. Having been a pandemic couple and needing to reschedule our date a few times, the team was always quick to reach out with updates and ensure we had a perfect date set once things were safe enough to do so. We really lucked out and were married Columbus Day weekend in the Fall which was a beautiful weekend surrounded by the most incredible Fall Foliage. Our memories and pictures are incredibly beautiful and every part of the property speaks to this upstate charm. From the minute we arrived, all of our guests were in complete awe of the property and experience, we could not have asked for a more special place to share our big day with everyone we loved. Our ceremony was held by the creek in the woods and was beautiful, peaceful and serene. Due to some light rain our cocktail hour was moved to the barn which was another awesome building on the property, the staff was quick to respond to the weather and make sure everything still turned out perfect throughout the night. The reception venue is brand new and expansive, allowing plenty of space for any size party. It is beautifully designed and having loved this part of NY already, we really appreciated all the Woodstock and upstate touches throughout. The cabins, houses and other accommodations on property are all unique, well furnished and designed. With many rooms options available, most if not all guests are able to stay on property which really added to the experience as we were able to spend extra time with all of our guests throughout the weekend which was something that was important to us. From the cocktail hour, to the reception to the afterparty, our guests raved about the food, drinks and friendly staff - in fact most if not all of our family and friends told us it was the most fun they had ever had and already asked when we can return for another event. Our wedding was magical and truly a dream come true! If you are looking for an incredibly unique, beautiful and fun experience, Full Moon Resort has it all! We cannot wait to return here for another event or visit in the future. Reviewed on 07-01-2022
Lauren F(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-10-2021 First, let me say that we had a wonderful wedding weekend at Full Moon after waiting an extra year due to COVID! Our guests seemed to enjoy themselves, and the grounds were beautiful during the fall. Tia (room booking coordinator) and Consuela (catering) were phenomenal! That said, we were blinded by all of the positive reviews online and now feel compelled to share some of the issues we encountered. Again, we had a fantastic wedding, but we thought it would be helpful to separate the gorgeous setting from the management so other couples can be better equipped than we were.1.\tVALUE: Costs at Full Moon can differ significantly depending on the date/time of year. If you're getting married on a prime Saturday, the all-in cost will likely be equivalent to that of NYC venues. It's not the price alone that was an issue; instead, it was the value. Full Moon did not come close to offering the same level of service as a high-end NYC area venue. For example, we ran out of dessert on both Friday and Saturday nights. 2.\tWEDDING COORDINATORS: We recommend against getting married at Full Moon UNLESS you can also afford a wedding planner or day-of coordinator. Full Moon offers wedding coordinators as part of their package, but in our experience, this coordinator was not actively driving the flow of the event. Our planner was not even in attendance at our welcome dinner and was not accessible the day of our wedding (especially tough with no cell service). We had a small religious ceremony (~25 people) before the larger ceremony (~110 people) that was sheer chaos because there was no one present running the show. Our closest family members ended up with no seats during the larger ceremony. We can only imagine how silly the empty second row will look in our photos! On Friday night, the outdoor heaters broke and someone from the venue asked us if we could leave the party to call the vendor (a vendor that Full Moon hired for us and we'd never spoken to).3.\tCOVID SAFETY: From the start of the pandemic, Full Moon downplayed our concerns. In the final weeks, they did take our requests around safety more seriously and agreed to a testing/vaccination protocol, but we felt that their constant dismissal of our concerns took away much of our excitement. Also, we ended up paying for empty seats as the size of our event changed due to COVID. While we know the pandemic has been tough on the wedding industry, we found Full Moon rigid with their pre-pandemic expectations.4.\tRESORT STAFFING: There is no front desk attendant overnight, making check-in confusing for guests who arrive late. One of our guests had a problem with their room and couldn't get in touch with anyone, so they ended up leaving their keys on the front desk and driving home at 3 AM. Yes, we're aware this is a rustic venue, but without cell service, how would guests reach someone in case of an emergency? 5.\tAIRBNB: During the pandemic, Full Moon pivoted (smartly!) from weddings to short-term rentals. We found the detailed images on Airbnb to be incredibly helpful as we completed the room assignments, but the advertised rates on Airbnb are much lower than what wedding guests pay. Between this discrepancy and the required meal charges, our guests' rooms appeared to be nearly double the advertised Airbnb price. Reviewed on 04-01-2022
Kelly Hawkins(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-10-2021 We got married here this past Monday and I could not wait to leave this place a RAVING REVIEW. Because if you want a spectacular wedding weekend that you can ACTUALLY ENJOY AS BRIDE OR GROOM, this is the PLACE!The best food is served here, and you get to have it more than just once. The grounds are magical. The staff is attentive. A lot of the newly renovated bathrooms have heat-radiated floors (!). You get to plan a custom-tailored event here and get to be whisked around to enjoy it. The staff makes sure you are having a good time.We booked our wedding a year out, and got help from our coordinator, Morgan, immediately & every step of the way. She made sure we were aware of every decision we would have to make well in advance, so we had no last-minute scrambles. Throughout the whole process, she was there to help and quick to reply to any and every question we had. She was so organized and professional, and we really got the sense she loves her job.A tricky part of this venue is the couple gets to create a room chart. Our coordinator for this, Tia, made it EASY. She was also there for any questions we had or last-minute trouble shooting. She was also fast to help our guests out and incredibly understanding. Creating the chart was a key part of the experience, we were able to place old friends together and family near each other. It made our weekend special. On our first day we were introduced to another coordinator, Alexis, who was (surprise surpise) ALSO AMAZING. She was so damn cool and helpful. She kept her eyes on the weather (since we had a fire & s’mores going outside) and let us know everything that was going on without distracting from our night. Through the whole weekend, she always seemed to know what we wanted!Anytime we had a question, the staff made sure to have a thorough answer. I was diagnosed with a dairy allergy (yes, butter too) in the middle of the process and was worried I’d go hungry/they wouldn’t understand. I was FULL AND FED the whole weekend, the food I had available to me was amazing, and the staff was able to tell me exactly what went into everything. I was able to confidently sit down at our sweetheart table and chow down with out a paranoid “are we sure this doesn’t have dairy in it?” My vegan friends didn’t have to turn to their emergency trail-mix. Trust me, everyone will have a great time. The people that work here clearly love & have pride in what they do. This review could go on forever, I just want to add a few more shot outs. Great Bar Manager, Josh Brown, really cool guy who knew what he was doing. Consuela, head of catering, ridiculous sweet & made sure we were fed. I felt like I’d get in trouble if I didn’t eat (in a good way lol). Devin & Jake, a few of our awesome bartenders. Michael, who humbly introduceds us, who did sound and set a whole lot up. John Hanley, who brought us to the ceremony and made sure we knew we didn’t have to rush home. There was an overnight coordinator, Kaitlin. She made sure we knew who to reach in case of emergency (because you are in the middle of nowhere).Since we had so much support with the planning, we were able to communicate what goes where upon arrival and then enjoy the weekend we created with our friends. We can’t stop thinking about it, so if you want a magical & memorable weekend celebrating your love with your friends that you can actually enjoy, check this place out!! Full Moon is not your average catering hall that will blend in with every other wedding memory your guests have. From the moment you step foot on the grounds you start to feel the magic of this place. For starters, every backdrop looks like it's out of a storybook. From our ceremony by the creek to our after party in the roadhouse, each moment was a true fairy tale. Every staff member is warm, kind, and inviting and all weekend we felt like family. It was honestly hard to leave! If you do choose Full Moon we highly recommend opting for the entire weekend experience. On Friday night our guests were delighted with a welcome BBQ and ended the night with a bonfire & s'mores on the lawn. We ended the weekend with a farewell brunch with some of the best french toast I've ever had. OH YES - THE FOOD. I have had countless guests compliment us on the food, it was out of this world. I ate my entire meal AT MY OWN WEDDING, which is honestly unheard of. Chef Adam is so personable and fun and cooks up some of the most incredible food (and wedding cake!) I cannot leave this review without a special shoutout to Morgan, my angel of a coordinator who was with me every step of the way. She was so overwhelmingly kind and attentive to us and our families throughout the entire planning process. Alexis, our other weekend point-person was also so incredible and so fun. Tia, the reservations manager, helped us coordinate all of the rooms onsite and dealt with many a change from me - all handled with aplomb. Paul - who gave us our initial tour is such a sweet and wonderful human. Josh - our bar manager and new bestie. Consuela - another sweetheart! Again, every single person there made the weekend what it was: the event of a lifetime. I'm sure I'm forgetting compliments but please, if you're considering Full Moon for your wedding - DO IT! When we met with Paul in sales way back in early 2018 we spent hours touring the property and talking through our ideas for the wedding, and after that meeting we just knew this place would be special. We really wanted a weekend getaway/destination wedding vibe (rather than just renting a venue for a night), and Full Moon was the perfect choice. We cannot rave enough about the customer service, every single staff member was very responsive, professional and easy to talk to. Everything from negotiating our contract with the owner Michael to ironing out the finer details with Stephanie was so easy and streamlined.Quick shoutout to Stephanie - she truly made our wedding everything we wanted, and she is excellent at what she does! As many weddings do we had a lot of last minute changes and details to sort out, and no matter how many times we emailed (or how many family members would call) she always got back to us right away and helped us solve any problems that arose. We were also incredibly impressed with how organized and responsive both LeighAnn and Tia were with our guests' lodging/reservations! We had a full house, every single room taken and a lot of our guests called to try and make changes, and they handled all of the reservations perfectly. It was a lot of fun building our own community there for the weekend, and it was a weight off of our shoulders not having to worry about minute details of each room for our guests.Everyone who was on site on our wedding weekend (Oct 13-15th) was fantastic - the food was AMAZING (chef Adam is the BEST), the wait staff was awesome (and they really made me and my husband feel like celebrities), and other venue staff went above and beyond to accommodate everyone (including my elderly 90+ year old grandparents, they always had a golf cart ready to take them around!)One more note - I love how they try to be as sustainable as possible, any leftover food was either taken by us, staff or donated to a local shelter, so nothing went to waste.10 out of 10 would recommend, 1000000000% !!! It was the first place that we visited (out of many), and from our first visit we were already envisioning how the entire weekend would go. Even though we had yet to see other options, we both seemed to feel that it was always going to be our choice. The setting is warm and welcoming and the staff are exceptionally service oriented and experienced in putting on beautiful affairs on the property (using the many different venues available). We liked the way that it was perfectly situated in the mountains - it was quiet and fostered an amazing connection and bond between all of the guests there (the lack of cell service is a PLUS), and all the while everything that needed to happen was taken care of behind the scenes by the attentive staff. Erik Lowe(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-09-2019 Honestly...where do we begin. From beginning to end Full Moon Resort and their staff exceeded our expectations. Full Moon is simply magical...we got married there about 3 weeks ago and are still on cloud nine. Stephanie, Leigh Ann, Tia and everyone else at Full Moon are rock stars. Throughout the entire process they were incredibly helpful, supportive, and most importantly understanding. Planning a wedding is not an easy process, but Full Moon went above and beyond to make sure that on our wedding weekend we were stress free and able to enjoy the picture perfect views/setting. From the welcome BBQ to the day we left, the staff was unbelievable. Upon arriving on Friday, we could already smell the amazing BBQ that was being prepared for that night's festivities. All weekend the food was delicious...major Kudos to Chef Adam and the kitchen crew! We had a weekend that we will never forget, and more importantly our friends and family feel the same way. Sabrina Smith(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-06-2019 I don’t even know where to begin about how marvelous a day my wedding weekend was thanks to Full Moon’s staff and energy! It’s true what they say when they say that your wedding is over in the blink of an eye but thanks to Full Moon’s awesomeness I was able to enjoy and be present for the whole weekend! I felt like I was taken care of, Stephanie who was my event coordinator at Full Moon was phenomenal! She has such a grasp on time management, listening to her bride, and thinking 10 steps ahead! She’s sweet, kind, and super good at her job! From the moment I went to Full Moon and stepped foot on the grounds I knew this place had a special magical touch. The scenery alone is awe inspiring. From hummingbirds darting around, to enchanted butterflies following my guests like little angels, the whole property came alive in celebration! My guests could not get over how simple yet stunning everything was from the Barn, to the tent where we held the ceremony, to the Moon Pavilion where we partied and then ultimately to the Roadhouse where we partied even more! None of us wanted to leave, we just wanted to bask in the peace and serenity that Full Moon offers. Yes, they “produce\" weddings, BUT when you are there, on your wedding day, it is not a procedure but the creation of a memory, an imprint in time. The food was spectacular! All my guests had gone out of their way to make it a point of how much they were enjoying the food and how refreshing it was to not only come to a wedding, but a destination wedding where the meals…ALL THE MEALS…were 5 star status! All my husband and I wanted was a place to gather family and friends, to be comfortable, drink beer, dance, and spend time in the presence of loved ones; and that is exactly what we did from Friday-Sunday! The booking staff at Full Moon did a wonderful job addressing guests questions as well as handling any issues with rooms. The cleaning staff was very polite, even though we didn’t really see them because they are like ninjas at their job and while we were wrapped up in drinking by the pool or wandering around they were on top of keeping the place spotless! The servers were also great! We will be forever grateful to Full Moon for hosting our beautiful wedding, a weekend we and our guests will never forget! Reviewed on 05-10-2019
Alaina Crystal(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-09-2019 We got married at Full Moon Resort over Labor Day weekend and it was truly the most magical weekend of our lives. FM is absolutely gorgeous, and you'll save money on flowers because the resort's setting is so naturally beautiful. The weekend itself is so special because every guest can stay onsite, so you really feel like you get to spend time with everyone and not feel rushed. Our guests also said that they appreciated the slower pace of the weekend and it felt like a mini-vacation for them, with really comfortable rooms and delicious (I mean it!) food. From start to finish over the 15 months of planning, FM were the most helpful people possible - Stephanie, the lead coordinator, responds so quickly to email and has great answers to any question, no matter how random, as she has produced so many weddings. The vendor recommendations that she provides are also really helpful because she's worked with nearly everyone in the Hudson Valley / Catskills area, so she knows where to direct you. LeighAnn and Tia from the room reservation team also ensure that what could be quite a fraught process (choosing rooms for all of your guests!) is super easy. We've been back home and married for a month and the only thing we wish is that we could do it all over again. Bob D'Agostino(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-06-2019 My wife and I got married at Full Moon in June 2019 and we are so happy with our choice of venue! We only visited one other venue because when we got to Full Moon, we knew very quickly that it was the right place for us. Throughout the whole planning process, my wife and I were extremely impressed with the staff at Full Moon. Everyone we worked with was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Anytime we emailed with a question or concern, we received a prompt response, often times within minutes! We had to make some changes with our guest list, room and table assignments even in the last few days before the wedding but Stephanie helped us with everything. She is truly amazing and I don’t know how she keeps track of everything!A great thing about getting married at Full Moon is that your guests can stay on site in a variety of lodges, cabins and even yurts! Assigning accomodations for your guests is the trickiest part of getting married here but LeighAnn was a great resource and getting to tour the different accommodations during our tasting day was helpful as well. Many of the accommodations have been renovated in the last couple of years. My wife and I liked our room so much we wished we could have stayed an extra night just to enjoy it some more.As for the wedding day itself, everything went incredibly smoothly. The housekeeping staff made sure to prioritize the rooms where the bridesmaids and groomsmen would be getting ready and the front desk staff was warm and welcoming. We were able to utilize many of the spaces at Full Moon for our wedding: Lower Grove for the ceremony, front lawn for the cocktail hour, Pavilion for the reception, Roadhouse for the after party and barn for breakfast the next morning. All of the spaces are charming and beautiful! As for food, our guests were very happy with the offerings. I didn’t get a chance to eat very much at cocktail hour but I heard good things. The entrees at the reception were outstanding and our guests enjoyed the pies, ice cream and cookies for dessert in place of a traditional wedding cake. At the after party we had pizza and pretzels which were a big hit. The staff even set up a campfire for us outside of the roadhouse so guests could make s’mores. The breakfast buffet the next morning was great as well and our vegan guests were happy with the offerings throughout the weekend as well.I can’t say enough about the hospitality and professionalism of the staff at Full Moon. There were so many nice little touches like a gift basket in our room and to-go meals in the fridge of our room just in case we didn’t get a chance to eat enough during the night. The waitstaff and bartenders were all wonderful and the housekeeping staff did a great job too!Overall, we are very pleased with our choice of Full Moon for our wedding. We loved having a “destination wedding” that was still within a reasonable drive of NYC. Having our guests stay on site and come to breakfast the next morning was so nice. I’ve been to other weddings where you have to take a shuttle bus to the afterparty or have guests stay at a bunch of unmemorable hotels and this experience was so much better. It’s a little bit more work upfront than other wedding venues, mostly because you have to figure out where to place your guests but it’s worth it. If you want to have a wedding in a beautiful location that is connected to nature, this is the place for you! Our guests even got to see two bears (from a safe distance!) at breakfast the morning after our wedding! Reviewed on 26-07-2019

The energy, the people, the nature, the food, the vibe--everything becomes a haze of love. The staff at Full Moon Resort is really willing to bring your vision to life however they possibly can. L &R(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-06-2019 OUTSTANDING - RECOMMENDED WITHOUT RESERVATION. Full Moon is a beautiful venue/catering/lodging combination run by an absolutely top-notch team.THE SPACE. Full Moon's setting is beautiful - full of trees and green and mountains, with a creek running through it. The wedding event venues are great - the newly built Pavilion is the single best reception hall that we saw in our research; the Barn is a charming older building which would serve well for smaller weddings or for the rehearsal dinner or after-wedding breakfast; the Roadhouse is great for an after-party following the reception. The grounds include about 60 rooms for on-site lodging; the newly renovated rooms are truly high end, while the older rooms are still quite nice (although more rustic/vintage).THE TEAM. Paul Magaril gave us a great introduction to the grounds. Michael Densmore, one of the owners, is extremely fair, a straight shooter, and a pleasure to work with to sort out contractual matters. LeighAnn Trent was super helpful in taking care of our on-site guests. Chef Adam Kowalsky cooked up delicious meals (and handled our all-vegetarian menu with ease). Last but not least, Operations Manager Melanie Warner was awesome. Melanie ran the show the entire weekend, and had every detail 100% under control.TURNKEY. The awesome thing about Full Moon is that you get to have many or all of your guests stay on-site, and Full Moon provides catering in-house, so it's one big combo turnkey package which lets you focus on customizing the details that actually matter to you.If your vision is to have a wedding in nature, and you find appealing the idea of having everything taken care of under one roof (lodging, catering, venue) then you absolutely must book Full Moon Resort. Augusta Gillespie(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-04-2019 Buckle-up because, this is going to be one lengthy and happy review. The only way to describe our wedding at Full Moon is: perfect. To start, Full Moon's entire set-up: rooms for all your family and friends, with events/time for all your guests throughout the entire weekend, is the perfect pallet for your wedding weekend. That, topped with the incredible service, makes for the best weekend ever.First off, our welcome party Friday night was essentially wedding part 1. About 90% of our guests arrived (despite the April snow) for both nights, and we had such a blast. Again, the set-up here is perfect- you're able to get really meet & greet time Friday with everyone so that as the bride and groom, Saturday can really be about fun and enjoying the evening. The staff was so attentive and friendly throughout the evening, ensuring that everyone had a great time. Additionally, as I walked around throughout the evening to greet our guests I heard at least 5-6 times different people telling friends \"You have to go get some food - it's AMAZING\".So we hit the ground running fast Friday night- but Saturday couldn't be beat. First of all, Melanie and her staff made everything so easy - they really are Pros, that can help guide you into the smoothest timeline. All my husband and I heard throughout the wedding planning process was \"you're not going to be able to eat the day of\" well not at Full Moon. After our beautiful, cozy ceremony, we did portraits and met everyone at the cocktail hour. Afterwards, the staff had saved plates of appetizers, and kept the bar open, so that we had 20 minutes to sit, process, enjoy each other and eat before meeting our guests for the reception. As wonderful as that was, we didn't even technically need it, since things run so smoothly at Full Moon that we both were able to SIT and eat hot meals- I would have never known this wasn't the norm if it weren't for the dozens of people that told me they had very different experiences at their own wedding. It's also worth noting that after my dress was bustled too low, Melanie spent 25 minutes with me, pinning the dress up, so that I could dance and have fun throughout the evening. The other thing worth noting is that throughout the 1.5 Years that we had planning our wedding- we NEVER felt stressed, and I owe 95% of that to Full Moon. Melanie's timelines and process check-ins ensured that we were always on top of the next step and never felt overwhelmed. We really kept waiting for the other shoe to drop in the planning process, and it was all so easy, thanks to Full Moon. The bottom line- if you're looking for a beautiful, FUN, catskill wedding- this is your place. Good food, great staff, and a system set-up to make life easy for the bride and groom. It really couldn't be any better. Reviewed on 14-04-2019
Erica Smith(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-02-2019 If you are even slightly on a limb about a venue, stop right now. Full Moon Resort is the only place I would ever recommend. Not only are the grounds beautiful, with ponds, luxury cabins, and absolutely gorgeous event spaces for ceremonies and receptions, but the people who work there make your wedding more than you could ever hope for. From the owners, Paul and Michael, to the chef Adam West and his team, to the grounds crew, front desk staff, catering ladies...nothing but smiles, laughs, and helpful past their pay I am sure! But, all in all, my wedding would never have happened without our Coordinator, Melanie. Our story was my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer and I moved the wedding up to two months from out engagement in hopes he could be there to walk me down the aisle. In two months, Melanie helped me plan the wedding of my dreams. On the day of, she was there with me ever moment, asking me questions and making sure everything was just as I wanted it. When I didn't have an answer, she gave me several options and often I just asked her to do what she thought was best. Then, because everyone was busy with my dad, she actually helped me get dressed. She even put on my pearls. At the ceremony, she made sure my dad got to go down the aisle with me no matter what. At the reception, she had a special plate of food made for him because he asked for it and getting him to eat is hard. Most amazingly, at one point I looked over and she was feeding my dad...she didn't have to do that, but she did it so I could have the best wedding possible. In my eyes, Melanie is now a part of our family and I will forever sing her praises, and praises for Full Moon. My friends and family said it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to, all planned in just two months. Not to jump backwards, but the FOOD....sweet Lord I never ate so much! And it was AMAZING! Best food I had ever eaten. Period. The chef Adam worked right along with us for food choices and even helped my vision of an afternoon tea happen with delicious scones and finger sandwiches. He helped me design the perfect cake and it was incredible. If you and your hunny are foodies like us, there is no other venue to match the food at FM. I wouldn't have done my wedding any other way, even if I had the chance. It was truly one of the best weekends of my life and I owe it to Full Moon! Reviewed on 01-03-2019

Molly Molino(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-09-2018 We absolutely loved our wedding at the Full Moon Resort. Everything was beautiful, the staff were great to work with, the food and cake were absolutely delicious, the guests raved about it. You would be hard-pressed to find a more gorgeous location. The planning overall felt like it went very smoothly and I felt pretty relaxed leading up to the day. We were originally supposed to have our cocktail hour outside, but it was chilly so we moved it inside with no issues. The only thing that I felt was frustrating was the way they set up bookings for the rooms that guests stayed in. Unlike at a hotel where there are a set block of rooms to stay in, there was a variety of different rooming options and the couple has to figure out where everyone will be staying. If anyone wants to change rooms, the couple has to manage those changes. It was pretty much our only source of frustration because it felt like doing a seating chart x 100. In the end, everything worked out and it was beautiful, but I have to believe that there is an easier way to do all those bookings. Reviewed on 28-09-2018
Kate Hallquest(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-06-2018 I can't say enough great things about Full Moon! Our wedding was absolutely perfect. It is a truly unique venue with the perfect blend of rustic and elegant. They recently built new and also renovated a lot of the guest rooms and they have such a crisp and clean but also cozy feel. The new indoor reception pavilion is GORGEOUS with lots of exposed wood and tons of windows and French doors. We were unlucky in that it rained the whole morning of our wedding so the ceremony couldn't be at their lower grove outdoor grassy location but thankfully they have a new \"backup\" ceremony location that is under a permanent tent and right next to a beautiful creek so it was still amazing and picturesque. The staff was so friendly and great at catering to any special requests we had in order to make the weekend uniquely ours. The best thing is that the entire wedding weekend from rehearsal dinner to farewell brunch is all in one place so there's no worry about you or your guests getting to your locations on time or hitting traffic etc. Several weeks later our guests are still telling me how good the food was too which I feel like people hardly remember at most weddings. Nicole K(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-08-2019 In the first round to determine if a location was in our budget, I sent out emails inquiring the general price range. 8 of 9 vendors on my list readily sent me information, so it was quick and easy to see if they were in our price range before we went forward. Not Full Moon Resort! They insisted they were a \"unique\" vendor and a phone call was a must! I asked for any pricing information before a call - general menu, any spending minimum, etc, but was refused. We then proceeded to play phone tag for 2 weeks. Finally, we had the conversation. The first thing he said was that \"you must rent out all the cabins\" and \"it is a wedding weekend: you must rent Friday AND Saturday\" which are two immediate deal breakers for what we were looking for. Their website is informative and getting any detail out of them is the biggest pain! It might be a delightful venue, but in your initial searches... GOOD LUCK Reviewed on 22-06-2018
Kathryn Toms(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-05-2018 Full Moon Resort was our dream wedding location! It was more than we could have ever dreamed. Having everyone together for the whole weekend made it truly special, people were able to relax and let loose, and it gave us the opportunity to spend time with all 200 guests even though the reception went by in the blink of an eye. There's no place else like it where you can have all of these amenities and have over 100 guests sleep on site. The remainder of our guests stayed down the block at Alpine Inn and Slide Mountain Forest House, both were very charming and accommodating. The entire Full Moon staff is incredible. They treated us like family. Melanie was an amazing wedding planner and LeighAnn & Ashley made room accommodations for my guests painless with their quick responses. Melanie made the weekend so simple for us, walked us through every step, rehearsal, made sure we were always fed, and even bustled my dress at the reception with safety pins (her idea!) so that I could dance more comfortably. The food was incredible, the bartenders were outstanding. Everyone that worked at Full Moon went above and beyond. All of my guests claimed to have the best time ever, many stating it was the best wedding they ever went to. The planning was extensive, but they truly make sure to think of every detail and get things done early so that its not a last minute scramble. The new pavilion is unbelievably gorgeous. Even though it rained on our wedding day, the staff was able to set up the ceremony tent with open sides on the creek so we still got the outdoor feel we always imagined. Kathy Eastwood(groom)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-08-2015 The only way our wedding was possible in the manner that we imagined was with the professionalism of the team at The Full Moon Resort. EVERY DETAIL was totally covered. There's a big difference between a a place that \"looks good\" and a place that \"looks great and HAS THEIR ACT TOGETHER\". The Full Moon is the real deal! Starting with the planning months in advance and through the day itself and beyond I can't say enough about the place. Our wedding was transformed from a standard 5 or 6 hour reception on a Saturday to a 3 day celebration of friends and family - all staying on the same property and enjoying food and fun and visiting in a way I can't imagine anyplace else providing. AND THE FOOD!!!! Starting with the Friday night BBQ in the barn - which felt like an entire wedding reception in itself - to the final breakfast Sunday morning the meals were outrageous and the service was top notch. The only thing my bride and I had to do was enjoy the company of our guests. From the cocktail reception Friday afternoon on the porch to the hot air balloon ride after the ceremony (thanks for the suggestion you guys) they arranged for everything and it was flawless. And did I mention the \"after party\" in the roadhouse across the street with 120 of our guests? (The \"hard core\" crowd) The reception in the tent ended at 11:00....but then the band set up in the roadhouse which the Full Moon owns across the street and we partied with East Side Mix until 1am!! Pizza, full bar, cupcakes and wedding cake - they just blew us away. It's been 800 days since the wedding and people STILL TALK ABOUT IT!!!!I would have expected the costs to be 2 or 3x's what it actually was and honestly it would have been worth it even then. We looked at a ton of other venues -NOTHING COMPARES. Seriously - I should have posted this much sooner but it is so very good that I am still compelled to bother with a review 2 yrs later. Amanda Campbell(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-03-2017 INCREDIBLE.We did the Friday BBQ, Saturday Wedding, Sunday Breakfast package they offer and it was worth every penny. No site fee, they are so sweet and accommodating that they were willing to throw in a few extras on the house if we opted for their less busy 'winter' season (we got married at the end of March), and part of the deal is 3 hours of open bar included and a coordinator! Melanie, the Coordinator, was extremely useful throughout the planning process, checking in and making sure we were on target with getting everything done on time. The only criticism I would have is that sometimes it was slow to get a response or the response was a little vague - but they also are constantly putting on weddings so its understandable that the bride they have that week is the one that gets the most attention! Once we actually got there and everything was being executed, I kid you not, they did not miss a beat. Not one single thing went wrong on my wedding day. I danced too hard at one point and the zipper on my dress broke, before I even knew what was happening, Melanie, who you don't even notice is maneuvering every detail like a ninja, had pulled me into a back room I didn't even know existed and had drawers full of emergency tools and had me pinned back up and back on the dance floor in less than 5 minutes. And the staff they employ? The kindest, hardest working people you'll ever find. The food? Holy crap (can I say that?) TO DIE FOR! Every guest was raving about it- and when we woke up the next morning, we found they had actually made an extra meal for both of us to take home! It was the sweetest surprise to get to experience those meals for a second time and be brought right back to our wedding night.I cannot rave about Full Moon enough- it is completely magical. Their options for ceremony sites, reception sites, and various meals allows you to customize so much. The food is QUITE delicious. The entire staff is helpful and on top of it and the communication leading up to it was helpful and stress reducing. Kate Brill(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-03-2017 Gahh!! I can't say enough how wonderfully perfect our wedding at Full Moon was. It was exactly what we wanted our wedding to be. We had about 80 people on Friday night and 120 on Saturday for a Winter Wedding. The staff were friendly and helpful. The attention to detail was amazing! Our water glasses were full whenever we got back to our table, and all our guests raved about how friendly the staff were. The food is EXCELLENT, breakfast, lunch, and dinners were all great. They have their stuff down and know how to throw a good party. Having Melanie (our event manager at Full Moon) to help us with the logistics of planning a wedding was great, but it was even better to have her there the day of the wedding. I tend to be very anal about details and execution, and I really didn't worry about a single thing the day of the wedding because she had it all under control. We had such a wonderful time, and really got to spend a full weekend, in a beautiful place enjoying our family and friends. Reviewed on 15-04-2017

They walked us through the entire planning process start to finish and when we arrived the staff could not have been more professional, attentive, or friendly! The food was AMAZING and we had guests requesting to-go bags because they felt it was so delicious (it was one of the only weddings I've ever been to where literally everyone stopped and ate the dinner). The fact that our entire guest list was able to stay at the resort and we were the only couple having a wedding made it feel so exclusive. Additionally, our guests loved how much time there was to spend with everyone and allowed family and friends who may not have seen each other in a while to truly reunite over the course of a whole weekend! The scenery was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed being in the mountains in the winter! The rooms for guests were quaint and at about $125 per night totally affordable (compared to $200 per night at other more traditional hotels). We fell in love with this venue as soon as we saw it. It was our first and last venue we checked out. The location is so beautiful even with our December wedding with just enough snow on the ground for pictures and they took care of the grounds so well. Accommodations were wonderful with allowing family and friends to stay together and it was so much fun visiting people in all the different houses and cabins. The food was not your typical wedding food and was so delicious from the BBQ the night before to breakfast to the actual wedding. Charise Solitario(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-10-2015 My husband and I got married at Full Moon on October 18th 2015 and we truly feel that it was one of the most magical places we could have possibly gotten married. Looking back, we couldn’t imagine starting our lives together anywhere else. When we started the process of looking at venues we knew that we did not want a traditional wedding and we did not want to get married in your typical reception hall. We had heard about Full Moon from a few different friends and they all had nothing but great things to say and “magical” was a term that was often used. Once we visited Full Moon we understood exactly what our friends meant by magical and knew instantly that this was where we were going to get married, there was absolutely no doubt in our minds, Full Moon was perfect for us. I can’t explain the feeling that you get when you are physically at Full Moon you are half way up a mountain in the middle of the forest preserve and there is nothing but the beauty of nature surrounding you. From the quaint loveliness of each little building, to the charming old farm house with the stone fountain, to the little cabins that are scattered about the property, to the beautiful stream that runs along the back side of the property, each and every little detail is breathtaking. Our wedding was a rustic vintage theme and Full Moon and all of its beauty just brought out every detail in our pictures in such an unforgettable way, some almost look fake in the sense that the background is so gorgeous it is unbelievable. I want to share one of the many magical moments that myself along with my bridesmaids and photographer will never forget: Prior to the ceremony, we did our bridal party pictures separately in hopes that we would at least make it to part of our cocktail hour. The bridesmaids and I were getting ready in a house on the property where my mother’s side of the family was staying and when our photographer asked us to go out back into a wooded area to take pictures before heading down to the ceremony, as magic would have it, a herd of deer decided to join us! So my bridal pictures are myself and my bridesmaids in the woods with a herd of deer in the background UNBELIEVABLE. Since our wedding, literally every single guest that myself, my husband, our families etc. have spoken to have gone on and on raving about how wonderful Full Moon was and how our wedding is one of the best weddings they had ever been to. From the over the top delicious food, to the ambiance, to the staff, to the properties…people just thought it was perfect and so did we. I really want to acknowledge and share my appreciation of the staff at Full Moon as well, they are kind, generous, truly caring…REAL PEOPLE. They made us feel like we were part of the Full Moon family in every way. There is truly something to be said about that as these are people that you need to work with throughout your entire planning process and these are the people that are going to be supporting you throughout your special day. Every moment was special in some sort of way and we owe that to Full Moon. We will carry those memories with us for a lifetime. If you are looking to start your life together in a magical world of beauty and love Full Moon has the perfect setting for you and I am truly confident in saying that the staff will help you along every step of the way to ensure your special day is flawless and as magical as ours was. Krysia Olszewski-Lavin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-06-2016 Stop thinking about it and just go for it!!My husband and I got married here on a perfect (but hot!) Sunday in June 2016. I know the area well, so I've known about this gem for years, but what really drew me to them was how wonderful they were to the local community when the area was devastated after Hurricane Irene. Their actions are a testament to their ethos -- why wouldn't you want to support a small business as wonderful as this one?We knew that a \"traditional\" wedding venue was not for us. I hate the feel of wedding halls and cookie-cutter wedding factories. There is nothing cookie-cutter about this place! They have over a hundred acres in one of the most beautiful parts of the Catskills, which makes for a stunning backdrop, regardless of season. We had our ceremony outdoors; this can be risky, I know...but they are a well oiled machine when it comes to execution and contingency plans for rain. Everything from our ceremony, to our cocktail hour on the large lawn, to our reception in the barn, after party across the street at the Roadhouse (with campfire!), to the after-after party in the billiard room for all those left standing...it was all completely gorgeous and a hell of a good time. Shoutout to LeighAnn for overseeing everything, prior to and day of...what a blessing! The service was truly outstanding. And the food - MY GOD...the food.was.incredible. Even my most picky of guests raved about how delicious it all was. Chef Adam also made our cake for us and it was both gorgeous and delicious! If you have a vision, Full Moon will make it happen. They are true professionals. They made all of this happen even though we picked a date only 6 months away. This worked out by chance. They book up quickly (because they are so wonderful!). There was nothing available in September, but there was ONE Sunday-Monday package available in June at a discounted rate, which also worked best with the amount of people we were planning on inviting...and our budget. We jumped on it and Full Moon assured us that getting everything done in time wouldn't be an issue. They didn't disappoint. We used their vendors list to find out florist, DJ, photographers, and makeup artists and were able to book everything without even breaking a sweat ;). Everyone on their vendors list knows the venue well, which is very helpful because they show up and are just ready to roll. The lodging may not be for everyone. I'm a nature lover and love camping and thought the rooms were exactly as they described...rustic, simple, and charming. Most of our guests loved it and had a great time unplugging in the woods. My cousin and her husband slept in the yurt and had a blast! Words to keep in mind when planning your wedding: you can't please everyone. Just do what feels right for you! Even now, months later, I still have family and friends reminiscing about how wonderful a time they had. Several people mentioned they have never been to a wedding more beautiful or unique.I'm so glad and so grateful for the wonderful memories I'll have forever. Thank you Full Moon! Lauren Stein(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-09-2016 As soon as we got out of the car on our first visit to the Full Moon Resort, my (now) husband and I knew this was the place for us. The property is breathtakingly beautiful, and the setup allows you to have your guests in one place for the entire event. It was important to us that we could stay in one location for the ceremony, party, and after party, and then people could stay over (no need to worry about driving after an open bar). We wanted a venue that felt elegant but casual (\"rustic chic\"), and we LOVED the idea of being married in a barn. However, we were working within a fairly tight budget for a Hudson Valley/Catskills wedding. Full Moon made it possible to have everything we had hoped for and come in under our budget. We chose to do a Sunday-Monday package and got started planning!Beyond the venue itself, the staff deserve all of the credit for helping us to have the exact wedding we dreamed of. From the day we first contacted Full Moon Resort until the day after our wedding, the staff made our wedding experience as easy and personal as possible. Paul, who introduced us to the property and wedding packages, was friendly, accessible, and kind. He had us at hello (really). Although we are located in California, Paul accommodated time differences and travel schedules to talk on the phone and show us around the property at times that worked for us. Michael, who helped us to sign the contract, ensured that we were able to have (and afford) every detail that was important to us. Adam, the chef, held a special tasting for us to (again) accommodate our travel to the east coast - and treated us and our parents to an incredible gourmet meal so we could taste everything we were considering. The food, by the way, was something all of our guests RAVED about. Adam truly blew everyone away. Consuela and other staff who helped out on the day of our wedding made sure that we had everything we needed. People say you won't have time to eat at your own wedding, but Consuela made sure that we could - and we were so happy not to miss out on Adam's food! But LeighAnn, our wedding coordinator, truly deserves her own paragraph. LeighAnn was with us from the time we signed the contract until the wedding weekend was over, and she made every step of planning so easy. Somehow, she made everything happen. It rained on and off on the day of the wedding, and instead of worrying about rain plans and feeling disappointed (as I thought I would be!), LeighAnn made the call about how to accommodate unpredictable weather and set up our rain ceremony location to be even more beautiful than the original plan. In the end, we were actually glad for some rain! She genuinely cared about us and our wedding day enough to make sure that everything was just how we wanted it, and it allowed us to really relax and be present for the whole day. If you are looking to truly enjoy your own wedding day, this is the place for you! We cannot recommend it enough. Many thanks to the incredible staff for making our wedding our best day! Pre-wedding, our assigned wedding planner (included in the price of booking) helped us curate the perfect wedding experience that fit our needs and desires to a tee. The venue had the best combination of rustic and chic, perfect for our more adventurous guests as well as our guests that needed more tending to. Having your wedding at Full Moon allows you to curate an entire magical weekend with your guests - for us, we wanted a wedding themed \"Dirty Dancing meets a Jewish sleep away camp\". We screened Dirty Dancing after the rehearsal dinner BBQ (fire pit and s'mores outside for those who didn't feel like watching). On Saturday we planned a whole day of camp activities from yoga to hiking, arts and crafts to kickball tournament. No other place we looked at allowed us this amount of flexibility and options. The site is gorgeous with many different locations to host various events. The on site caterer was INCREDIBLE, many of our guests commented on the quality of the food, from breakfasts to lunches to cocktail hour and reception dinner they killed it on quality and presentation. The accommodations on site are well taken care of and allow your closest family and friends to be with you for the whole weekend.I am a theater producer in the city and let's just say I was very specific in my vision of my wedding. I seriously could not have asked for a better experience. Five stars, A++, I am one happy groom. Sarah Moros(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-07-2016 Full Moon is magical! We wanted to host a wedding weekend that felt like summer camp for adults, and Full Moon delivered. The grounds are breathtaking. The staff is gracious. We and our guests thought the food prepared by Chef Adam's team was mostly delicious, including some nouveau Indian cuisine and our wedding cake! Melanie, our day-of coordinator, was a tremendous help before and during the wedding. Melanie made sure that she, my other vendors and I had all ironed out all logistics so that by 4 p.m. on Friday and through the rest of the weekend I was able to enjoy everything without further coordination. On Friday, Full Moon’s standard process is to have welcome services for guests at check-in, an evening BBQ and an after party with bonfire. On Saturday, there is generally free time until the wedding ceremony, cocktail, reception and after party. We complicated this process by adding an Indian engagement ceremony in the middle of the BBQ and an Indian sangeet in the middle of the after party, as well as soccer and cricket on Saturday. Full Moon never said “no” and made sure it all happened seamlessly. As evidence of how thorough Full Moon is, they boxed up food for guests that did not arrive on time and also put extra meals in my husband and my room on Saturday after the reception! Full Moon does require additional effort on the couple's part, including assigning guests to their rooms and bringing the \"extras\" you want to use (e.g., sparklers, smores, tiki torches, etc). The advantage of this is that the Full Moon wedding is very personalized. Also, although the cabins have free wifi, cell reception is very poor, which means NO one is looking at his/her phone and everyone is socializing! Note that the rooms are clean, simple and comfortable. All have fans and some have AC, but this is not a five star hotel experience. Also, wear comfy shoes for the gravel and grass paths (although there is a golf cart for those with mobility issues). Reviewed on 14-08-2016

We chose Full Moon for our wedding because we wanted a semi-destination (just 2.5 hours outside of NYC) weekend wedding in a beautiful, rustic setting. Full moon is absolutely beautiful and absolutely rustic (the rooms are extremely Spartan, with no recent renovations in sight). It is reasonably priced for the area, and while you pay a lot of weddings, we got a lot for what we paid for. In addition to our wedding, reception, and after party, we also hosted a Friday night BBQ and campfire at Full Moon. We were very happy with the staff (servers, bartenders, owners, receptionist, etc), especially our event manager, Lindsay, who was hard-working and receptive, and whose opinion I grew to trust. There was more than one surprise during the weekend (including a freak October snowstorm- note that it's 20-30 degrees colder up there than it is in the NYC metro area!) and a couple of disappointing mishaps. The mistakes involved our menu choices (they served the wrong potatoes at our wedding dinner) and specifics to our wedding (referring to our wedding as a “commitment”). However, Henry, one of the co-owners, and Lindsay, were very apologetic and offered us an appropriate discount on our final bill. Overall, our wedding was a beautiful, enchanting event, not in small part because of Full Moon. Reviewed on 21-11-2011

The food is delicious, even our pickiest eaters raved to us about the food and they have a good selection of vegetarian entries. We had a sunday wedding, so we got a reduced rate, which was nice. The downsides; the cake went out and got cleaned up so fast (and thrown out) that not only did I not get to eat any, neither did the groom and maybe half the guests. Also they started cleaning up the tables(stacking the chairs on top of them and such) with 15 or 20 minutes left for the reception. Which is rude in my opinion and tacky, I had several people comment to me about this, how embarrassing. Also one of the bartenders was difficult to deal with he cut people off who didn't need to be and didn't cut off the people who should have been. But at the after party that's onsite (same bartenders & we didn't extend the open bar) he let the people he cut off drink. So best we can figure, they're cheap and cut people off during open bar to make more money. Since when it was time for people to pay for their drinks, those people were allowed to drink again. Also I couldn't find the event manager when I needed her, and she looked angry all night when she was around. The other girl that you work with, for some of the arrangements, LeighAnn was very nice. They could have been a 5 star place, if they didn't fall short when it came down to it. I think that's all I have to say about that. Reviewed on 07-09-2010
