Gallery Forty-Two is a fine art gallery and wedding venue located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, IN. Dating back to the 1830s, the building is registered with the Historic Preservation of Indianapolis as the oldest surviving commercial structure in the city. As it stands today, the venue has been thoughtfully restored to showcase its original splendor. Gallery Forty-Two consists of more than 3,000 square feet of event space where couples can host their milestone moments with up to 100 guests. A four-story building, the venue offers a number of distinct spaces for special celebrations. Events here allow those celebrating to be immersed in a world-class, historic space. Complete with galleries that showcase fine art from the two previous centuries, the venue provides a sophisticated setting for any occasion. Selected sculptures and paintings can even be relocated to couples’ chosen event space for a unique ambience. Its prime location downtown allows newlyweds and their loved ones to experience the best of the city on their special days. Depending on their preferences, couples are welcome to rent a number of, or all four, floors to align with their wedding vision. To streamline the planning process, the team at Gallery Forty-Two has curated a number of comprehensive packages that to-be-weds can choose from. When celebrating here, couples will be provided with tables of various shapes and sizes, linens, and chairs. For unforgettable reception experiences, a dance floor, wireless lights, a custom monogram projector, and a built-in projector screen are available. Prior to the day’s highlights, couples are welcome to prepare in separate, on-site get-ready rooms.

We can't recommend this venue enough! Not only is it gorgeous and unique, but everyone was also absolutely wonderful to work with! Leading up to the day, Mary and Linda were responsive and helpful with our questions and helped us choose different packages according to our specific needs and budget. They worked with our requests seamlessly, and helped us connect with both a caterer and a brewery that were somewhat new to serving at weddings. We requested the use of one of their many gorgeous mirrors for a guest list. The bridal and grooms suites for getting ready are PERFECT all around--pool for the guys while the ladies take their time getting ready, wonderful photo backdrops... I could go on and on about this building. But best of all, on the evening of the reception, the staff went above and beyond for us. We never asked the bar tenders to use our sentimental glasses all night, fill them with each of our favorite beers (we had \"his/hers\"), and find us around the dance floor to refill them without asking... but they did! Smiling with us, visibly celebrating with us... it felt like we had made new best friends. I'm not kidding. Our wedding was the happiest, most beautiful day in so many little ways that caught us by surprise, and this venue and its owner/staff are a HUGE reason why. We will be stopping by for their other fun events and continue our support of such a wonderful place with such sweet and amazing people! Thank you, Gallery Forty-Two.

Everyone at Gallery Forty-Two was not only great during the wedding, but also so easy to work with ahead of time. We couldn't have asked for an easier experience! And the venue itself is beautiful. We received so many compliments from our guests. Plus, both the bride and groom rooms upstairs are very well done and make for amazing pictures!We had an open-bar, and the staff was very flexible on liquor and beer choices before the event with good pricing. Service was quick and well-poured at the wedding, so we avoided issues I've seen at others. Highly recommend the Gallery and their staff. We had ~65 guests, so put them at the top of your list if your wedding will be around that size or smaller!
