They scheduled another person’s wedding rehearsal on my wedding day. When I questioned why this was happening they said “ we always do it this way no matter what”. I was scheduled to walk down the aisle at 5pm and the people were there all the way up to me walking down the aisle. Beautiful venue but completely unprofessional in the way they handled this situation Reviewed on 27-10-2023
Bee Clark(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 02-04-2022 Gardencourt is a gorgeous venue, and we fell in love with it on the first visit. Maggie Wood(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-10-2020 Garden court is a beautiful venue to get married at. They also have a chapel that you can book in addition in case of poor weather. The chapel is beautiful as well with a bunch of stained glass windows. We booked 13 months in advance to get the date that we wanted, so make sure that you book early. They were quick to respond to my emails, and very thorough with their information. We are very satisfied with our experience at garden court. Reviewed on 02-11-2020
Amanda Harley(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-11-2019 We just got married here. The venue is beautiful, but the staff didn't make it a smooth process. Originally before we booked, we were told by Lisa that they would decorate for Christmas, we could do a sky lantern send-off, they would move the furniture out of the way, etc. However, three weeks before we were set to get married, all of that was thrown out the window by the coordinator that took over, Trish. We were told we couldn't do the setup for an indoor ceremony that was previously discussed, they wouldn't clean the rental furniture or the venue beforehand, the house furniture wouldn't be moved out of the way (including garden equipment - we were told to push it against the wall), we couldn't do sky lanterns, they wouldn't decorate for Christmas, and we couldn't have as many tables in the reception area as we were originally told. After my stepmom contacted the first coordinator, Lisa, because Trish refused to budge, everything was eventually honored except decorating the house for Christmas. It was an unnecessary emotional roller coaster so close to the event. It seems that this sort of customer service is becoming the norm for this venue with the recent reviews that have been posted. If you book this venue (because it is gorgeous), make sure your contract is thorough and includes EVERYTHING you want. Our wedding was absolutely stunning - primarily due to my stepmom's decorations and the other vendors, but also because of the setting. However, the staff has no issue tearing apart your day if you don't have a solid contract with them. Reviewed on 27-11-2019
Corinne Warlick(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 07-09-2019 I have so many mixed emotions about this vendor. The venue was beautiful, but the staff, contract, and catering rules were terrible. Their contract was not thorough, and they are basically sitting on a lawsuit. They have several \"rules\" that are not in the contract, but given by word of mouth if you make the mistake of asking. If you break one of these \"rules\" they will kick you out of the venue. They have a catering contract with four vendors, and they get a high cut from all of them. When we went to book a caterer (the same week we picked the venue) only one was available, and Garden Court refused to discuss having additional caterers added to their list or helping their customers in any way. This brought me to tears, and they were the only vendor that actively caused me problems. They are extremely difficult to get in touch with, and they are very set in their ways. Going back I would absolutely pick a different venue. They caused me so much stress throughout different parts of my wedding planning, and they were very unclear on several rules. Jennifer Metts(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-08-2019 Gardencourt itself was absolutely stunning, however the venue coordinators were difficult to work with and to make matters worse my husband and I were yelled at by them at the end of the night, for something the catering company did wrong, only made my opinion of them worse. Only having 3 hours to set up before the ceremony was absolutely ridiculous and due to that, not everything was set up as we wanted. There was no other reason than pure laziness and not wanting to pay an employee to be there at the venue to give my wedding planner more time to set up when multiple other venues give you the entire day to do so. After speaking with the coordinators several times about coming in early Saturday or coming Friday to set some things up, the only excuse they could muster up was not wanting to pay an employee to be there while we were when they should be going above and beyond to make our day as perfect and stress free as possible, and it was the complete opposite. Throughout the time I worked with them there was a ton of miscommunication between me and the coordinators for Gardencourt which was very frustrating. They also promised the gardens to be in full bloom of roses and they were not, half of them being dead. I am extremely disappointed in our experience and unfortunately will not recommend anyone to use this venue unless there are changes made. Reviewed on 27-08-2019
Rachel Lee Parkin(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-06-2018 We got married at Gardencourt last weekend and could not have asked for a better venue- ambiance as well as staff. Lisa V. and Lisa M. were helpful throughout our planning process and responded promptly to answer any and all questions. Were accommodating to us having the ceremony and reception here. Spring weather had caused some damage to the garden that was efficiently repaired and restored. The elaborate decor inside meant that minimal decorations were needed on our part- a huge plus. Our guests kept commenting the entire evening on how beautiful it was. As an additional bonus we had many out of town guests who were happy with their accommodations at the Laws Lodge next door to the venue. Comfortable and affordable relative to other rooms of similar quality. Thank you!! Reviewed on 01-07-2018

Destin Kincer(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-06-2017 I just had my wedding at Gardencourt June 3rd and I'm appalled by the way the staff treated myself and my family. First off, when I signed my contract with them they had an in house caterer that was mandatory to use for your event. I had a contract with this caterer that included food, alcohol, linens and outside chairs. 4 months before my wedding I got an email from gardencourt stating that they were no longer using this caterer. As you can imagine I started to panic because I had already budgeted my wedding around what I was getting from the caterer. Lisa M. and Lisa V. were absolutely no help and told me that I was just going to have to find a new caterer and rental company to use. I ended up spending over $2000 more on food and rental supplies than what I had previously planned. The day of my wedding we asked Lisa V. if we could pay extra per hour to get into the building before our time(Just so you know you're not allowed access to the mansion until 3 hours before your event), she immediately told us no and did not try to accommodate us whatsoever. You would think that a wedding venue would try to help and be as nice as possible to someone on their wedding day but they absolutely were not. After seeing the gardens had not been kept up my father asked for someone to go and clip the rose bushes and sweep under the veranda, they responded rudely to him and it was never done. Also, the carpet in Hundley Hall is disgusting and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. When I pay that much money for a venue I expect it to look clean. With all of that being said I DO NOT recommend gardencourt for a wedding venue. Gardencourt is a pretty place but having to deal with rude people on one of the most important days of your live is not worth it. Reviewed on 21-06-2017
Kathryn Cardi(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2017 I am getting married at Garden Court in September. Not only is the venue beautiful, inside and out, but Lisa V. and Lisa M. are so helpful and easy to work with. Just to update any brides out there that are interested in this venue, Garden Court no longer has a contract with upper crust. When they ended their relationship with upper crust, they gave all couples refunds for any deposits that were made to the caterer even though they were no contractually obligated to do so. They now have a list of preferred caterers that offer a wide range of menu options and prices. I highly recommend this venue! Reviewed on 08-04-2017
Jamie Nunnery(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-09-2016 The venue was beautiful and they include the tables and chairs for up to 250 guests which is a huge cost saver. However, the rain option is not great if it's raining. Also they make you use their own caterer (Upper Crust Catering) which can be very expensive. Reviewed on 05-10-2016
