The Garvey Barn is a centennial barn originally built in the late 1800’s . We are located in Williamsburg, Michigan close to Traverse City and Lake Michigan. The Barn has been lovingly restored by the Garvey family and is now home to weddings and special events. Its hand-hewn beams tie the Barn to its past . Its meticulous reconstruction make it the most spectacular barn in the region . Nestled in a small valley, the pastoral setting makes this unique venue the perfect choice for your special occasion. Your guests will have an unrestricted view of hundreds of acres of rolling pasture , meadow and and forest. To the North you have a view of the cedar horse barn , horses, and a white fenced pasture . To the Southeast, guests will spot our neighbor's centennial barn . If you find the whinny of a horse or the crow of a rooster an intrusion then this probably isn't your venue . Until the music begins and the party starts the sounds you hear are those provided by Mother Nature . If you are looking for a unique , unforgettable venue for your special day you’ve found it . Please note that the barn accommodates 150 guests with room for an additional 90 guests on the deck plus unlimited tent space for larger gatherings . Our beautiful cabin is available for day use upon request . Pricing for 2023 is: * $5,000 for up to 120 guests * $5,500 for 120 to 150 * $6,000 for 150 to 200 * $7,500 for 200 + A tent is required for guest counts above 150 (Tenting the deck would satisfy this requirement). Our experience at the Garvey Family Wedding Barn was absolutely incredible! We heard over and over again from our friends and family that our wedding was one of the best they had ever attended. Our decision to have it at the Garvey Family Wedding Barn allowed us to customize our wedding to reflect our personalities and style and work with the catering, music, and other vendors of our choosing, which made our wedding feel so personal to us! We hosted our cocktail hour on the cedar deck, overlooking rolling hills and the equestrian farm. As the sun set, the expansive view gave way to a clear starry night. Bob was very easy to communicate with and made the whole process very smooth for us! We strongly recommend this venue to all who are looking for a serene Northern Michigan setting for their wedding!

From the moment we toured the barn to the day after clean up, everything was incredibly smooth, easy, and accommodating. The owner of the venue is such a helpful and easygoing guy. He was able to provide high quality recommendations of vendors and planning insights that saved us tons of money and precious time. We were upset when looking at other venues due to the difficulty in getting straightforward answers to simple questions, and that ended here. The barn is immaculate. Almost hard to call it a barn actually, as the floors are nicer than most homes, has tasteful windows, and thoughtful details that make this 100+year old barn look brand new again. The deck is enormous and has an amazing view over an ultra secluded Northern Michigan country setting. You over look the perfectly maintained equestrian area, with a separate horse barn that is so cute and photogenic. The setting was peaceful and private, the price was great, and the service was top notch. My partner and I can’t recommend this place enough and we’re so glad we choose this barn and not a generic venue that turns over weddings every weekend. Thank you for all the compliments our guests gave, for the private and unique setting, and for making our day smooth and worry-free.

Bob was an absolute pleasure to work with from day one. He welcomed us on to his property like family and provided support and suggestions every step of the way. He remained in contact with us providing recommendations to local vendors for catering, bed and breakfasts, tables/chairs, etc. All of our guests were blown away with the immaculately maintained venue. The property itself looks like a scene straight from a movie. Every inch is perfectly landscaped and kept clean. We are so happy with our choice of venue for many reasons. Thank you Bob for giving us a everlasting fairytale wedding.

I never write reviews, but have to for this one. If you dream of the perfect venue for a barn wedding this is it. Truly a fairy tail-like setting for my daughter's wedding. The flowers around the barn are so beautiful and the guests enjoyed petting the horses. Bob could not have been more helpful. Very responsive to endless questions over the months of planning. We went with many of the recommended vendors who knew the venue and that made things easy as well. If you are looking for a barn wedding in Northern Michigan, this is it.

Such a uniquely beautiful setting for a wedding and reception. Completely peaceful rural setting from each vantage point which allowed for stunning photographs. The barn is perfectly restored, beautiful and comfortable. Wonderful yard for games and kids to run. Wish we could have an event here every year!

If you are reading this then you should book your wedding at the Garvey Family Barn. Our reception was absolute perfection beginning to end thanks to Bob and all of our amazing vendors. Our experience began with easy communication between us and Bob while getting any questions we had answered all the way up until the day when we were setting up and Bob stopped by to be sure everything was in order and even checked in at the end of our reception to see that everything came together for us. This is a family owned venue and it shows. We were well taken care of and were flooded all evening with comments from our guests with how beautiful the barn is and how much our guests enjoyed the fire pit that was added recently as well. We saw this barn for the first time about 3 years ago and knew it suited us as a couple - little did we know that it would end up being the place we would end up celebrating our marriage :)

We had our daughter’s wedding in at The Garvey Barn on 9-1-19. The barn and it’s scenic location were beautiful. Mr Garvey was warm, friendly and accommodating. The beautiful stables added to the pastoral views. We loved everything about the venue, including the chickens! We highly recommend The Garvey Barn

The Garvey Family Barn is blessing to families planning a wedding. Bob Garvey has a spectacular space, amazing barn and stables, and encouraging team - all which made the planning and preparing very easy. Bob's personal touches - quick response to emails, excellent & honest referrals for vendors, access to the venue Fri-Sun, and he encouraging and warm \"presence\" are just a few of the ways he blessed the weekend. The Garvey Family Barn is a very special place and will forever be remembered as the perfect place for Wes & Jenna to begin their marriage.

We cannot begin to say enough great things about Bob Garvey and the Garvey Family Barn and property. It’s been 2 days since our daughter’s wedding and we are still basking in the glow of having selected the most beautiful setting for an autumn wedding in northern Michigan! The trees were at their peak and the flowers surrounding the barn were colorful and set the stage for many photo opportunities. Bob Garvey is extremely easy to work with - returning calls and e-mails promptly and answering all questions. His list of local vendors is very helpful. We used many of them and they were all laid back and casual and yet professional and helpful. It was obvious they are all very familiar with the venue and completely confident in their ability to provide the best services. Everything came together without a hitch. The barn and property are in pristine condition and the horses, roosters and newly added miniature donkeys, Fred and Ethel, are a delight! All of our guests, many of whom have never been to Michigan, raved about the beautiful venue and our daughter and son-in-law could not have had a more wonderful day! It was Pure Michigan perfection!

The Garvey Family Wedding Barn is simply one of the best venues in Northern Michigan. It all begins with the owner, Bob Garvey, who was incredibly accommodating to our requests and so easy to work with. The barn itself has just the right amount of seclusion and a beautiful landscape that our guests couldn't stop raving about. Did I mention there are horses galloping on the grounds?! Without a doubt the easiest choice to make if you're searching for venues and thanks to Bob for being so pleasant to work with.

The Garvey Family Wedding Barn has to be one of my all time favorite venues in Northern Michigan. I am a traveling florist and event stylist and we chose this little gem of a place for my daughters wedding. Set up and execution was flawless because they were so easy to work with. The property is absolutely pristine and the barn simply hugs you as you enter. It truly is an amazing place. The view is incredible and the rolling hills in the distance and lavender gardens are an added bonus. And then you have the horses in the pasture, wow... it makes for the perfect photo backdrop. You will not be disappointed if you are fortunate enough to call this your wedding venue. (I would give it 10 stars if there was a button to do so :)

Meet the Garvey Family Wedding Barn Team
Bob Garvey (Owner) Thirty years ago Kathy and I purchased this 40 acre farm. The idea was to grow lavender and create a draw for our daughter who loved horses. It worked! After time spent in other states she returned home to start an online horse tack business, The TackHack. Ten years ago we had the opportunity to rescue our Centennial Barn . This beautiful barn surrounded by rolling forest and pastureland immediately attracted couples looking for a unique venue for their wedding day. We now limit ourselves to 12 special weddings per season . We hope you are fortunate enough to book one of those dates!
