We are overjoyed we had our wedding weekend at Gedney Farm and cannot recommend it enough. First, the setting itself is perfection - the grounds are beautiful, the barn and each room was gorgeous, and the Berkshires are incredibly special. It was both low-key and elegant at the same time. Second, the food. Everyone raved about the Argentinian grill, the sides, the mains - everything was delicious. Third, the flow. Having our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks on Friday, to the wedding on Saturday, and Sunday breakfast all in the same area made life easy yet each event still felt special and it's own. I also loved the flow of the wedding itself - each part of the day had a distinct zone that flowed easily (and always had rain or sun options). Finally, the team at Gedney is incredible. Everyone is incredibly organized and on top of everything. Everyone is kind and down to earth while being incredibly professional. We cannot recommend Gedney enough and look forward to returning to celebrate this milestone each year. Reviewed on 15-01-2024

Gedney Farm was the best wedding venue that we could have picked. The site is absolutely gorgeous and made for a perfectly picturesque wedding. The staff were super helpful when it came to planning our wedding and working out all details before hand. During our wedding weekend, the entire staff was actively working to make it the best weekend possible for us. The day-of coordinator was fantastic and kept us and our guests at ease the whole weekend while making sure everything ran smoothly. The event and catering staff were so kind and fun to have at our event. They even got props for themselves to match our wedding theme perfectly. We could not imagine choosing any other venue. My husband and I got engaged in February 2023 and were hoping for a fall 2023 wedding, so we had just around 8 months to plan everything. We looked at venues online, narrowed it down by prices, then nixed the ones that weren't available for our desired weekend. We had two serious contenders for a venue, and we scheduled tours at both venues one weekend in March. We live just north of Boston and so Gedney Farm is easily 2.5-3 hours from us. As our GPS took us down these snowy backroads for the last hour or so, we started to doubt how we felt about the venue.... thinking it's too far and not worth the hassle, etc. It was a bit closer to my New York family/friends than Boston but kinda in the middle of nowhere. We essentially had chosen the first Boston venue before even getting to the Gedney parking lot. However, upon walking into the main entrance, we tucked those doubts away and drank in the beautiful rustic details in every part of this barn... the new bar, the fireplace, the sitting area, the large reception space and the loft overlooking everything. Michael answered all of our questions and more, then took us to the lodging barn which *completely* sold us. 16 rooms reserved for our guests in an architecturally interesting space which had a perfect mix of private bedrooms and common hangout space. Our entire bridal party and a few close friends filled up the space, not having to worry about anything, as it was a 5 second walk to the venue. It was so fun and easy getting ready without even having to leave the barn, and there was plenty of space for my girls to get ready in the bridal suite, and my husband and his guys to get ready in a separate space. btw- Most of our guests stayed at one of our two hotel blocks in Great Barrington, and we hired a bus to/from the reception (word of caution: the local police ruthlessly target cars on that road... my MOH got a speeding ticket as she was driving friends back to Gedney from Great Barrington the night before the wedding... hiring a bus is essential)Anyway, I worked with Samantha through most of the planning process, and Patty for the final week and wedding weekend. Samantha was incredibly organized and on top of deadlines... she essentially served as a wedding planner which was helpful since I was doing a lot of DIY decorations and planning an entire wedding in less than 8 months. Patty was on top of everything that was going on for the wedding weekend, helped us feel calm and ready, and made sure everything ran as smoothly and as close to the timeline as possible. Honestly, Gedney was definitely on the pricier side of the venues we researched, and it's even tougher once you add in the cost of vendors, lodging, dress, suit, decorations, add-ons, fees, taxes, tips, etc. On our drive back home from the tour, we really had to consider our budget and how much this venue meant to us for our big day. We had to reallocate some things in our budget and we both took on extra jobs to set aside more wedding savings, but we made it work. Our wedding day was perfect. We had smiles on our faces ALL WEEKEND, everything was perfectly taken care of, the staff was on top of everything, our ceremony was beautiful, our guests were eating, drinking, dancing, and taking photobooth pics all night, and that lodging was the complete icing on the ceremonial wedding cake. We had a perfect wedding, but my husband and I absolutely hated the idea of wedding planning. All the talk of guest lists, what table numbers to order from Etsy, the debates over a bridesmaid’s dress in dusty rose or rose quartz…truly, bless the people who enjoy this time of their lives, but it was not us. We felt overwhelmed by the idea of putting on an event, what felt like a performance, of our love, and making it authentic for 250 people. We love hosting; we love our families; we love our friends; but this all felt so next level. This task felt so impossible that 10 months before we were set to get married at Gedney Farm, we pulled an audible and gave our immediate families a 3-week notice that we were going to have a small church ceremony at 2pm on a Wednesday in December. Be there or be square, mom. All this to say, we gave the Gedney team a run for their money. We sporadically answered emails from August to December, and then we responded in January and said, “we’re married! But we’re still going to have a wedding with you!” And by God, despite all of our hesitations and fears, did Sam and her team make this process as seamless as it could possibly be.Sam acted in the role of a wedding coordinator, providing us with a list of deadlines we had to meet in order to stay on track with everything in order to meet our September day. She was communicative, kind, and empathetic. Whenever we reached out with questions, she or another member of her team was quick to respond. As a deadline approached, she warmly extended a reminder, and if we missed it, she let us know what we needed to do, with a firm tone that made me feel like I was disappointing an older sister if I didn’t uphold my end of the bargain. She and her team made every accommodation for us, allowing us in the hotel an extra night early, building out a wider aisle for my huge dress, checking in constantly when I had pneumonia the weeks before my wedding to see how they could support me. Sam is one of the most competent people I have ever worked with, and working with her felt like a partnership the whole way through. We had a truly perfect wedding. It wasn’t necessarily traditional – my three brothers officiated the ceremony together; we had no exchanging of rings; I danced with my mom to Carole King; my person of honor sang us a toast, and my beautiful husband cried; we ended the night with karaoke. There are millions of moments from our wedding at Gedney Farm that I will cherish forever, and I don’t take for granted that this was able to happen because of this beautiful space and the incredible staff present. We’re so grateful to Sam, Peter, and the rest of the folks at Gedney for turning something we truly hated (wow so much) into the most joyful, beautiful, loving weekend we could have.Final moments of gratitude for Gedney:-Waking up on Saturday, going to get breakfast, and seeing all my friends and family (and my friend’s 2 dogs) out on the patio at Gedney already eating-Staying on the property with friends and family for the weekend – being able to head back with everyone after Welcome Drinks and the Wedding-Getting ready in the Bridal Suite, and easily walking down to see my wonderful husband and his pals-The wonderful lady who packed up our cake and then kept it safe when I forgot it Reviewed on 04-12-2023

We had a truly perfect experience getting married at Gedney Farm this past May. The charming buildings and grounds were exactly what we'd envisioned for our wedding. Our guests walked past barns and gardens to arrive at our ceremony site beneath a majestic, towering tree just in bloom. Cocktail hour was held on the patio, where there was an Argentine grill cooking up delicious meats and veggies—and we were greeted with an amazing signature cocktail (elderflower, lime, cucumber, vodka—try it) that the staff at Gedney had helped us design. We then moved inside the rustic and spacious event barn, which was decorated beautifully with flowers and string lights, and sat down for short ribs and cauliflower, all great. The rest of the night was suffused with that good nostalgic glow; there was a lot of dancing. But the best part was having our immediate family and closest friends stay with us in the rooms on site, which gave the whole weekend a campus feeling; you always hear with weddings that you barely get to see your guests, but we got to spend so much time with ours—going out for jogs and coming back for picnic lunches. The whole staff is incredibly professional and helpful, and they are expert at what they do. We really appreciated how much Gedney felt like a one-stop-shop. They'll even make the cake—in our case, an amazing buttercream-topped, salted caramel-filled vanilla cake that accommodated our gluten-free restriction. And for everything else, they provided an extensive list of their preferred vendors, which we relied on to find excellent and affordable photographers and florists who suited our aesthetic. We felt cared for throughout the night, and during the many months of planning. We highly recommend it! Reviewed on 01-12-2023

To say Gedney Farm is amazing, is an understatement. The moment we took our first tour of Gedney, we looked at each other and knew this was the place we needed to get married. The atmosphere, the grounds, the on-site hotel, the beautiful rustic ambience all had their shining moment that day as the vision in our head of our perfect venue came to life that day. Through every step of the way, Gedney’s incredible staff made us feel beyond comfortable, helped with all our needs, and made us feel like we were the most important people getting married at their venue. Fast forward to the week of our wedding, where when we arrived, it felt as though we were major celebrities they were taking care of. We were treated with love, and such grace (major shout to Patty, our week of wedding coordinator!). As the big day neared, everything started to fall perfectly into place. Finally, the big day was here and nerves and excitement were flowing. Walking down the aisle, we saw everything we’ve planned for come to life, and wow was it magical. Gedney’s picturesque interior and landscape is something you’d pin to your Pinterest board and title “My Dream Wedding” hoping one day you could make that dream a reality. Well, our dream became a reality. From our vows, to cocktail hour, to dancing the night away, and everything in between. Gedney really knows how to take your vision and provide even more than you asked for or could have expected. Everything was absolutely perfect, and we could not be more grateful. We are still riding the high of our Wedding, and we finally understand why people always say their wedding was one of the best days of their lives. Thank you Gedney for making our day an absolute unforgettable dream. With all the love, Ryan & Christopher Reviewed on 01-12-2023

Getting married at Gedney Farm was an incredible experience. It was the first and only venue we toured, and we quickly and confidently decided that it had everything we could possibly want and more. The grounds are incredible, with multiple options for ceremony location, as well as on-site lodging for guests and a gorgeous barn for the reception. We took a gamble on the weather (which paid off) and had our ceremony outside atop “the knoll” underneath a beautiful old tree, which made for stunning photos, then headed down the hill for cocktail hour in the courtyard with hors d’oeuvres served from the Argentinian grill. Our reception was in the upstairs area of the barn, with plenty of room for dinner and a bar, a photo booth, and of course, dancing. The staff at Gedney Farm were amazing. From the day we booked the venue, they guided us through choosing every detail, but also had default options for the details that didn’t matter as much to us. Having it be a “one-stop-shop” including all linens, flatware, chairs, tables, etc. as well as food, cake, and lodging made the planning process so easy. The on-site wedding coordinator took care of coordinating with all outside vendors (florist, transportation, photographers, DJ/band, videographers), so the day-of stress was minimal because we knew they had it handled. Looking back, we are so glad we chose to celebrate our wedding at Gedney Farm and could not have asked for a better venue or staff to help us! Reviewed on 20-11-2023

Gedney Farm was an amazing place to have our wedding!!! From the very beginning of the process we always felt we were in the best of hands. They communicated clearly, effectively and quickly whenever we had questions or concerns as they provided clear and helpful guidelines and deadlines for information. This was never more evident than on the weekend of when, due to weather conditions, we were forced to relocate the ceremony indoors. They went out of their way to make sure we still had the ceremony we had envisioned for ourselves. In addition, it is a huge benefit to being able to stay on site alongside 30 other people (that you can hand select). For us, this included our entire wedding party and really allowed us to spend time with the people we loved the most by having them right there. It also came in handy for getting ready the day of! The staff was so kind, courteous and helpful from our event coordinator to every single member of the waitstaff. They all went out of their way to ensure that we had the best experience possible for our special day.Not to mention the food (and bar) was incredible! A huge draw was the in-house catering of the event and the from the immense diversity of Hors d'oeuvre's during cocktail hour, to our specially crafted signature drinks to the delicious meal, each and every morsel was of the highest restaurant quality. It is clear they have a lot of experience running weddings as our experience went off smoothly without a hitch and the flow from one thing to the next was handled with immense care. Where do we even begin? Gedney Farm was our dream wedding venue. We could not have had a better experience throughout the entire wedding planning process and, of course, at the wedding itself. We hosted three events at Gedney Farm during our wedding weekend: rehearsal dinner, wedding, and brunch. Each was flawlessly executed. There are not many other venues out there that allow for a full wedding weekend with gorgeous onsite accommodations and come with an amazing wedding planner (Sam rocks!!). The food at each event was delicious and alcohol selection/bar was great. The setting is stunning, every detail was exactly in place. Because the barn and outdoor spaces are so beautiful, we definitely were able to save money on flowers and other decor. The vibe is luxurious but rustic, and definitely extremely cozy. The staff are all so knowledgeable and kind, and we felt so well taken care of every step of the way. We know we will be part of the Gedney Farm family for years to come! Reviewed on 06-11-2023

Gedney Farm was an incredible venue and the people there were a joy to work with! The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and fit our vision of a rustic, elegant barn perfectly. The grounds are stunning and we absolutely loved getting married in the meadow area with the two barns behind us - it was everything we wanted in a fall wedding and Gedney delivered above expectations! Patty and her team were amazing throughout the weekend - Patty was truly a bride’s dream. She made us feel calm the entire weekend and was always there if we needed anything, constantly checking in on us, bringing stuff while we were getting ready, etc. She’s a pro at what she does and helped ensure our weekend went so smoothly. The week leading up to our wedding, the weather was looking iffy but Patty promised she would do everything in her power to get us the our outdoor ceremony we wanted and I’m lucky to say, we got that outdoor ceremony! The cocktail hour, dinner, dessert and late night were delicious - nothing beats steak from the Argentinian grill! We opted for pies for our dessert (and did cake as late night) and the pies were incredible - truly the best chocolate pecan pie I’ve ever had! Late night was a big hit and helped us keep our guests fed while partying away. Everything about the party really was what we wanted and getting to dance until midnight with our friends and family was so fun. We had our wedding party stay on site at the hotel across the courtyard, which we loved and something that makes Gedney really stand out. There is nothing like having your best friends staying with you all weekend right where all the action is. The bridal suite was perfectly situated to accommodate all of us to get ready, the central hang out area was perfect as a gathering and late night hang spot. I knew we were in great hands from the first time we met Sam. Her responsiveness, attention to detail, and all-around can-do attitude put my anxieties at ease. For the two years between when we signed in 2020 and when we finally got married, she answered every question I could possibly come up with. And when the balloons we'd bought to surprise my MOH for her birthday popped on the day of the wedding, she drove into town to buy us new ones! Talk about above and beyond. The barn itself is stunning and uncommonly peaceful. We were hoping for an environment of authentic, understated, comfortable elegance: something that felt classy and warm, historic and well cared-for, at the same time. We first visited Gedney Farm and met Peter (co-owner and somm) in the fall of 2018 and planned to have a wedding in May 2020, which we ultimately postponed to September 2022 due to COVID. Peter, Michael (co-owner), and Samantha (event manager/day-of coordinator) could not have been more professional, organized, and helpful during the FOUR YEARS we worked with them to plan our wedding. They made it so easy to reschedule and honored all the prices/costs outlined in our original contract. They invited us for a free outdoor dinner/movie night at Gedney Farm during the summer our wedding was cancelled. Peter even helped us find a personal chef in NYC for our legal \"micro-wedding\" in fall 2020. Samantha ushered us through each stage of planning (both times)! For our 2022 wedding, she kept us on track despite my partner and I being new parents and having two high pressure jobs. With Samantha's help, we pulled it all off without hiring an additional planner. Samantha works hard, takes pride in her work, and is excellent at her job. Her expertise (and Peter's) guided us in many decisions we made, but we felt our priorities, preferences, and budget were respected at every turn.On top of all that, our wedding weekend was spectacular. Everything flowed so smoothly. We had NUMEROUS friends and family tell us how excellent the food was, how they made friends with the bartenders, how special the event space was, and how smoothly the whole event flowed. So it wasn't just us, the bride and groom, who thought it was a stellar party! The indoor and outdoor spaces at Gedney are remarkable. We loved how Gedney was both rustic but sophisticated, how there were beautiful spaces to have a ceremony outside (or inside if weather didn't cooperate), and how we were able to have our wedding party and some additional family members stay on site. The lodging really brought our friends together and made it possible to have an intimate after party. There were times during COVID when we wondered whether we should forge ahead with having a full-sized wedding celebration even after we were legally married and had a baby. After our wedding at Gedney Farm, it's hard to believe there was ever a doubt in our minds. The wedding was more fun and special than we ever could have imagined. It is a beautiful, restful location, where the trees, grassy fields, and old stone walls contribute to a sense of the grandness of nature. The reception venue, aka “the barn”, is very beautiful. The authenticity of the floors and railings enhanced the rustic setting. The guest rooms are very comfortable, with a great hallway for folks to gather. Every meal (rehearsal dinner, breakfast, lunch, reception dinner, late night snack, Sunday brunch) was outstanding! We personally found the vegan dishes to be extraordinary. Best vegan meal ever! The staff was helpful, patient, and kind – truly amazing. Sam was very knowledgeable in all aspects of planning the entire weekend. Her recommendations were great and she was a pleasure to work with. The first 8 were fine; they had pros and cons; we knew we could make one of them work. Then we visited our ninth and final venue: Gedney Farm. My husband, sister-in-laws, and I all immediately knew it was perfect for us. We'd wanted a barn, and the three floors at Gedney were so much more spacious and airy than the others we'd seen. I wanted an indoor ceremony, and the loft level was the perfect location I'd never known I always wanted. The onsite hotel provided the perfect intimate setting for our bridal party. We looked at venues for a while, the second we walked into their barn, we knew we had found our spot. It felt like everything we love about the Berkshires in once place. First and foremost, the people at Gedney. They make you feel like family- everyone understood our style, they were able to ancitipate our needs, and were genuinely (!!) excited to celebrate with us. They throw weddings every weekend and somehow they made ours feel uniquely special! Now the grounds- you must have your ceremony up on the knoll- breathtaking. Not only is it a breathtaking venue, in the berkshires, but the staff, food, accommodations, and just overall welcoming nature of the place is top tier to say the least. During covid especially, their flexibility and kindness while I watched friends cry over lost deposits and disappointing rigidity was unbelievably generous. For the wedding, the owners Peter and Michael, as well as the coordinating staff Sam, Eileen, and Ryan, consistently went above and beyond to make our day perfect. Specifically, Samantha is the most organized person I have ever met. It was like having a wedding planner included in our venue. Gedney did a great job in working with our (many) vendors and getting everything set up nicely. We had a fairly complex multi cultural wedding that lasted a couple of days so pulling it all off was not easy - it required them to be a little flexible and they worked with us pretty nicely. Danielle Greenman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-07-2019 Gender Farm was the most magical and special place to have a wedding. Where to even start:1) the staff: Peter, Michael, and Samantha are more than just professionals and experts at what they do. They are patient, responsive, caring, fun, creative, present and accommodating. They worked with our wedding planners, our parents, our florist, and us seamlessly. They accommodated all last minute decision changes i.e: moving dinner from indoors to an outdoor tent, moving the ceremony inside because of the heat, changing guest lists i.e adding 50 extra guests. changing the lighting, etc. If a problem came up, the team worked to find a solution. If I felt stressed, they actively sought ways to take that stress off my plate. The ancillary staff that works with the core team were also fabulous: bar tenders, waitstaff, etc. 2) the food: Chef Ryan's food was on point and spectacular. We dread typical wedding food and really wanted our guests to leave full and happy. Every single guest commented \"the food at your wedding was the best ever\". Even though we had almost 300 people, each dish was prepared perfectly. The vegetarian options were creative and hearty, the chicken was moist and flavorful, and the citrus flavor to the salmon was yummy delicious! But I got ahead of myself and skipped cocktail hour. We went with the argentine grill and our guests are still talking about the duck and lamb chops. 3) the hotel: it's simple and quant and a really special place to keep those closest to you near-bye. 4) the venue: There are barns and then there is Gedney Farm. It's warm and inviting and beautiful; rustic and chic at the same time. 5) The grounds: we got married in the late summer so the shades of green were brilliant and plentiful, but each month and every seasons creates an ambiance that gives life to the event. It has all the Berkshire mountains has to offer, plus art sculptures and gardens and more. I couldn't say more wonderful things about Gedney Farm. It will forever have a special place in our hearts. We plan to go back every year at least once for a romantic evening and a dinner we know can't be beat. Reviewed on 01-11-2019

We fell in love with the ceremony site on the knoll and that was one of our most special memories from our wedding weekend. We also loved that family and friends could stay with us on site. The food and wine were extremely high quality and far surpassed our expectations. Colleen the wedding planner is very sweet and easy to work with. All in all, it was an extremely relaxing and beautiful weekend and we are happy we chose it as our venue. However, there are some elements that need improvement. The lodging needs renovation and is overpriced for the quality. I wish we had subsidized the cost for our guests to cover for the disappointing quality relative to the price. The staff were picky about drinking a beer or champagne in the courtyard before our wedding. And at times I felt that Gedney was squeezing us for small costs when we were spending such a significant amount of money it felt ungracious. If you can deal with or find solutions for some of these problems, then it's a beautiful and memorable wedding venue. Reviewed on 29-10-2018
Alexa Lombardo(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-09-2018 We were married at Gedney Farm in September 2018.We knew Gedney Farm was the spot for us as soon as we visited the property. The staff, the venue, the food - it felt like our dreams had come to life in this place.1. STAFFFirst was Michael, who welcomed us for our initial tour. He is kind, warm and informative - and was giving us gentle advice from the moment we visited the property, all of which would end up being invaluable. In our early planning stages he made himself constantly available, and shared very useful planning tools with us - budget templates, vendor recommendations (many of which we used and were SO happy with!). Upon our arrival to Gedney for our wedding weekend, my now-husband had asked Michael if he could possibly have something special waiting in our room - and when we got there, sure enough there was champagne and a beautiful bouquet of fresh cut flowers. Then there was the weekend event staff - Colleen, Peter, and their entire team. They went out of the way to make everything perfect for us and bring our vision to life, all without being pushy or annoying (I've heard horror stories about other venues and planners). Peter worked so hard to make sure he had the beers and wines especially requested by my fiance. Colleen helped with managing my vendors and coordinating all the little details, freeing me of so many worries. Even the entire waitstaff was wonderful, making us feel so taken care of the entire time.2. VENUEAside from the staff, there is the venue itself - so picturesque and fitting for the surrounding Berkshires. The inn, the barn, and the grassy knoll all feel like separate little vignettes, but the proximity of them is ideal. Also, there's not great cell service in the area, which was the perfect way to get people to relax, disconnect, and be present with us in the moment. The inn is the perfect size for a wedding party (of any size - we packed in a lot of friends and family!). We were able to enjoy the company of our loved ones all weekend long, which made the celebration feel never ending. The grassy knoll was a magical setting for our ceremony, and the surrounding fields and forest perfect for our photos. The patio and lawn area served as the location for our cocktail hour as well as lawn games and morning meditation/yoga. The courtyard was perfect for our rehearsal dinner - so pretty with the string lights. The barn could not have been more ideal for our reception. We had a big band and the sound was fantastic, the dance floor crowded but spacious. One of my favorite elements is the fact that they allow real candles. It made the evening feel even more special. And the fireplaces! All were lit, because the staff knew my particular affinity for them.3. FOOD Then there is the food. It is by far the best wedding food we've ever eaten. We chose the pork loin, roasted chicken, and butternut squash risotto - all incredible. We also had Gedney do the rehearsal dinner food and the cake. Everything was amazing. So fresh, incorporating local ingredients wherever possible. The cake was SO GOOD. We received so many compliments on the food (and the whole weekend!)I could go on raving about this place forever, and certain I left some things out.We feel so lucky to have been able to have our wedding at Gedney. We will cherish the memories of our special weekend, and continue to make new ones in the future. It is a place we will continue to visit for the rest of our lives. THANK YOU GEDNEY FARM TEAM! The chef there is amazing our meal was exceptional. They made special accommodations for a guest that has many food allergies, making her a special entree. The cake was delicious too. Alexandra O'Brien(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-08-2018 From start to finish working with Gedney was the best experience ever. The tours, tasting, contract finalization with Michael... everything was absolutely perfect, seamless, and easy. We thought we'd need to hire an event coordinator being that we're both out of state, but I'm so glad we didn't because Colleen took care of everything we needed, and things we didn't even REALIZE we needed. I couldn't believe the Thursday before our wedding I was done with wedding duties! Also - I'm a complete wedding food snob. I'm that person at friend's weddings judging the plating, temperature, everything... and we had guests who are the pickiest eaters clean their plates! The food was phenomenal, and yes they actually made sure we got appetizers, dinner, drinks, etc... (Oh, and Peter their sommelier made on point recommendations). The attention, service, care and genuine love of what they do really shows every step of the way. I couldn't even believe how little I had to do in the end and how seamless the wedding day was. They worked with all of our outside vendors, made excellent recommendations for vendors we didn't have connections for, and took care of all the logistics. Months later and I'm still in awe of how amazing this day was. Please, please, book your wedding at Gedney. My only regret is that we can't time travel to relive the day again. Reviewed on 22-10-2018
Christine Morgan(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-07-2018 We had a wonderful wedding weekend at Gedney Farm. Our guests (many coming from Boston or NYC) loved the \"rustic elegant\" country feel and many were able to spend the weekend exploring the beautiful Berkshires (the night before the wedding, we all went to a concert at Tanglewood together!) We were lucky to have beautiful weather and our ceremony at the knoll which was really lovely and special. One of our favorite things about Gedney is the food- they hold themselves to very high standards. All three entrees were incredible (even vegan family members were thrilled!) We did pie instead of traditional wedding cake and were blown away by the chef's choice selections. Our signature drink (maple bourbon smash) was also a huge hit! The barn had plenty of space for our group of 165 to dance all night. String lights, candles in the windows, and our florist's arrangements gave it a truly magical touch. Everyone at Gedney is wonderful to work with, especially Colleen, Michael and Peter. Colleen was our day-of coordinator and we felt calm knowing she was on top of everything. Peter is a great guy and we had so much fun with him at our menu tasting. The one criticism we have is the rooms are very expensive for what they are. That being said, it was nice to have our bridal party and immediate family onsite and everyone seemed to embrace the quaint, old-fashioned style of the lodging barn. The Berkshires are expensive in general, so be sure to think about different price point options for your guests (airbnb is a great option). Our wedding day was perfect and our friends and family will be talking about it for a long time! Reviewed on 21-10-2018
Keren Page(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-09-2018 Gedney Farm was a spectacular place to have a wedding. The food, outdoor space, alcohol selection, and reception barn were all amazing. Specific note on the food: many of our guests said it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. We also loved our cake made by the pastry chef. Working with Colleen and Michael was very responsive throughout the planning process. We were planning the wedding from NYC so there was a lot of email communication which was smooth. We had Courtney as our day of coordinator (who doesn't typically play this role) and she was on top of everything that day! Every part of the event ran seamlessly. The one fallback for us was the lodging barn that you need to fill for a wedding weekend. It was amazing to have this accommodation for all of our family and friends to be on site. However, the pricing of the rooms was very high for the quality. Regardless, we would absolutely recommend having your wedding at Gedney Farm. Reviewed on 21-10-2018

The lodging barn is the perfect country inn, with rooms ideal for the getting-ready process the day of.Planning: Michael and Peter, and their amazing staff, are incredible at what they do. They were friendly, accommodating, and very responsive to any and all questions and concerns in the entire year leading up to our wedding, and worked seamlessly with our planner and other vendors in the months before, as well as on the actual weekend and day of. The wedding could not have gone more smoothly, and that is thanks to them. Food: The food is simply incredible - Gedney has its own restaurant, and all the food is prepared fresh for every part of your event. We chose to have our rehearsal dinner and day after brunch at Gedney as well, because of the quality of the food. Each meal was an absolute pleasure, and the guests are still raving that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The staff was also amazing and flexible when it came to anyone with dietary restrictions, including a family member with a life-threatening allergy. Ceremony/Reception: The reception barn is beautiful, with spacious sections and cozy sections, perfect for a party like a wedding where people like to wander a bit. We wanted somewhere where we could get married either inside or outside, depending on the weather, and Gedney - with its beautiful grassy hills and lovely indoor loft - was perfect. The barn is an amazing, unique space that we immediately felt at home in. The knoll and rolling hills are the perfect back drop for a wedding in any season. If that wasn't enough, the food is actually good which is definitely not the case at most wedding venues! The 16 rooms on site including a bridal suite was an added bonus. If all this wasn't enough, the staff at Gedney go above and beyond to make your day special. Colleen (wedding coordinator) is an actual angel, and even though they are booked solid every weekend, she took the time to answer all our questions. Lauren Zagaria(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 When my husband and I found this venue for our September 2018 wedding, we were thrilled. The first time we stepped into the barn at Gedney, our jaws dropped and for the first time ever my then-fiance started walking around taking pictures of everything because he loved it so much (did not have that reaction anywhere else). That sealed the deal for me!Our wedding day was the best day of our lives so far. We lucked out that the weather was perfect (80 degrees+ with not a cloud in the sky), but regardless Gedney is absolutely gorgeous. Our ceremony was in the cornfield behind the Barn - an open field with a gorgeous tree at the end of it. We got married under a chuppah in front of that tree. It felt like a fairytale. The reception was in the Barn and it was laid out perfectly. I initially had concerns that the dance floor wasn't big enough, but for our 130 guests it was perfect, we had plenty of space. The effect of the Edison bulb lights and flowers and uplighting made for the perfect setting for an awesome party (with the help of our fantastic DJ). The food was awesome - their cedar plank Faroe Island salmon is unforgettable; it's the way salmon always wanted to taste but didn't know how. Between the food, the drinks, the staff (always available and very helpful) we had the best night ever. Along with the wedding party and close friends/family we stayed at the hotel part of Gedney for the weekend. The bridal suite is beautiful and quaint, has a view of the cornfield, and has lots of space for all the things the bride and groom travel with for their wedding weekend. From the beginning we worked with their coordinator Colleen, who was very helpful and always got back to us ASAP (we are from NY so weren't around that frequently). She was open-minded when we suggested having the cocktail hour first (I highly recommend this move - all the guests have a little something to eat or drink before the ceremony so no one is waiting for it to be over soon because they're starved) and is generally a lovely person. As you can tell, we can not say enough good things about Gedney. To be fair, it isn't cheap, but if you are looking for an off-the-beaten path venue with great food and a space that can be decorated to suit many different themes/styles/budgets and be in the Berkshires, this place should definitely be considered. Without exaggeration we lost count of how many people told us how gorgeous the venue was and how great a party it was (some even said the best wedding/party ever!!!). Darcy Boynton(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-10-2016 My husband and I had our ceremony and our reception at Gedney (AND the Rehearsal Dinner and Sunday Brunch). It was a wonderful experience. From our first visit we were very impressed with Gedney. Michael showed us around and painted a lovely picture of what their weddings are like, without pressuring us at all. The best thing about Gedney, in my opinion, is that they do a lot of weddings, but they don't feel like a wedding factory. It's definitely what they specialize in, so you benefit from their expertise, but you feel like they really care about you and aren't just cranking out yet another wedding. I'm so happy we went with them rather than some sort of \"alternative\" wedding venue (even though we were alternative in a lot of other ways!), because it meant that they dealt with most of the logistics and nitty-gritty details, so we could really focus on the feeling of the day.Colleen, who we worked with for most of the planning, was amazing. We opted not to have a wedding planner, and we absolutely couldn't have pulled it off without Colleen. She was very communicative, so helpful, and no question was too small. On the day of, when I was panicking about last-minute details I had overlooked (\"Who will give out the programs?!\") Colleen absolutely wouldn't let me stress. She just *handled* it, and with a smile. She also ran the wedding rehearsal, which was SO beyond helpfulThe whole staff at Gendey was wonderful, too. So happy and sweet and helpful. There was *one* kind of jerky guy who was managing things at the end of the reception, who was hovering over us to make sure the music went off EXACTLY at midnight (which I was being very diligent about ), and he made some of the wedding party feel less-than-welcome as the hour grew later. When my new husband mentioned this to the manager the next day, she took it VERY seriously and treated us with absolute respect. It was a tiny moment, but the fact that Gedney as a whole took it seriously meant a lot to me.There was a review that kept popping up when I was looking into Gedney that is pretty negative, and mentions something about the rooms being dusty and old-fashioned? Uh... okay. The rooms are *gorgeous* and all our guests loved them. That's all I have to say about that!In summary: GORGEOUS location, great local food (particularly the cake and the appetizers!), helpful and organized staff, beautiful rooms. Our guests had a wonderful time and it was the perfect day.[My only tiny criticism of Gedney is that they nickel-and-dime you a bit. (An example: if you have more than two people in a room, even a kid, they'll charge you an extra $20 per person.) Little charges like that obviously aren't a huge, make-or-break deal, but it seems to me that when you're paying a premium for a place like Gedney, they shouldn't squeeze extra money out of you for vague reasons. It just felt slightly icky. But even if I had known about every little thing like that up-front, I still would have gone with Gedney. Overall, worth it.] Reviewed on 16-11-2016
Anonymous (bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-10-2015 Alright...this is a tough review to write. Overall, Gedney is great. There are just some nuances.\r\rGedney Farm is a beautiful venue. We really loved being secluded for our wedding weekend. That being said, it is expensive, it has no cell phone reception, and planning vendors can be tricky. These are not dealbreakers, just warnings for planning brides. First of all, Gendey has a preferred vendors list, which is great! Except they were all out of our price range, and almost all of them were booked by the time we contacted them (over a year out). Gedney was nice and let us use our own vendors.\r\rSecondly, Colleen and James are super helpful the day of. But they are not wedding planners. What I mean to say is, if you need help planning and coordinating before the event happens, that is not something that they do. At least, that is not my experience. They can help you develop a floor plan for seating and a schedule, but finding vendors and coordinating them is up to you.\r\rNow that the warnings are over, if this venue is within your budget, DO IT. I loved my wedding there. The outdoor ceremony location was amazing, the back up in the loft was great to have, my bridal party loved staying on site, and the food was great. We had the rehearsal dinner, day of lunch, cocktail hour, dinner, and then following day brunch. All of the food was great except the food at the rehearsal dinner, which was decent but not as amazing as their other food. James and Colleen are super friendly and good at what they do. The chef, wait staff, and bar manager were all super courteous.\r\r=) Reviewed on 30-10-2015
Jenna Victoriano(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-07-2013 We chose Gedney Farm because we wanted a venue that would allow us to have a small wedding (80-100 people) in a rustic and elegant atmosphere where we (and our guests) could feel like we were getting away from the buzz of every day life. Gedney exceeded our expectations. The staff, chef and our day-of wedding coordinator were amazing - all the details of the events - the rehearsal, the rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception - were taken care of for us and we were able to spend the weekend enjoying time with our friends and family without having to stress about the details of each event. The day of our wedding the weather was iffy - unclear if it would rain in the afternoon or get sunny. The staff monitored the weather radar all afternoon and set up two ceremony areas for us - one outside on the knoll behind the barn, and one upstairs in the loft of the barn, so we could make a \"game time\" decision. We didn't ask them to do this - they did it on their own; we felt like that was really a step above in terms of service (and again, added to the no-stress vibe of the weekend for us). We ended up having the ceremony and cocktail hour outside and it was perfect.\r\rThe other benefit of Gedney is that they provide a list of top-notch vendors to choose from - we selected all of our vendors off their list and we're glad we did because they had all worked together and knew how to make the venue look its best and make the event go off without a hitch. \r\rFinally, I think Gedney's site fee is the best value for money in the area. I looked at a number of other venues in the Berkshires and many were exponentially more expensive. For the amount we paid, the quality of food at our events (everyone raved about the food), and the attention/effort we got from the staff who made sure the weekend went well, Gedney is an unbelievable find. If the weather is nice then the reception is held on a beautiful knoll the cocktail hour outside in a beautiful courtyard and the reception is in a very cool 1900's barn that has 2 floors including a loft space that can seat up to 100 guests and has its own bar set up. GREAT floor for dancing too!;There's really no downside. If it does rain the staff is very comfortable moving the ceremony inside the barn which works easily because the ceremony can be held in the loft space then the cocktails can take place at the main entrance which would then allow the staff the time (and privacy) to set up for the dinner.
