Morgan Freeman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-06-2019 Our day was flawless from beginning to end and we cannot thank the staff and Genesee Country Village Museum enough, for helping make our day that much more special. I had my wedding at GVCM on 6/8/19. Our ceremony was in the yard of the Brooks Grove Church, and we were given the rain option of having the ceremony inside the church. Our guests were given directions at the entrance for back to the church and the staff provided transportation to guests who were unable to make the walk, which put us at ease! The wedding coordinator was at our beck and call for whatever myself, wedding party/ family, or guests needed. She helped with the flow of the ceremony and assisted in the layout and organization of the reception. Our ceremony was held in the Carriage Barn; the Carriage Barn gives you the rustic feel and the carriages and string lights hung above makes it all the more romantic. Becca J(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-09-2019 My husband and I loved our experience at the GCVM! Tammy, the event coordinator, was SO wonderful to work with - she was like a second mom through the entire process. She really tried to make the planning as easy as possible, and had excellent suggestions along the way. The event itself was perfect - the space was gorgeous and the evening was orchestrated well. Tammy knew exactly what should happen when, and made sure we were on schedule. I didn't have to think about anything except enjoying my special day!The museum is a beautiful living history museum, the largest in NY state and the third largest in the country. It is the PERFECT location for a vintage or rustic themed wedding. There are multiple reception sites on the venue, including two barns. The package also included photo time at the different historical buildings between the ceremony and the reception.Throughout the year, the museum hosts wonderful educational events that really bring history to life. It's a special place, and we felt good that the money we spent on a venue went to support this local treasure, and help keep it running. You should definitely check it out! Reviewed on 22-10-2019
Susan Mack(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 30-09-2018 This was an amazing venue! We had our reception in the Carriage Barn. We needed minimal decorations since the ambience of the barn is so homey. Tammy worked with us and was attentive, professional, organized, kind and just plain fun to work with! Our guests were able to walk around the museum, which provided an extra activity to keep everyone busy and having fun. I have ALL good things to say about this venue and HIGHLY recommend. Andrea Joslyn(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 23-09-2017 Genesee Country Village & Museum is where my husband and I got married. I've always loved the GCVM since I was a little girl and we would go for school field trips. When I found out they hosted weddings, there was no doubt in my mind that I had finally found the place I wanted to get married. Everything about the GCVM is just absolutely jaw dropping. The entire village is stunning, the trees, the gardens, the houses, the farms, etc. For those who have never been you must check it out because it is just an incredible place to be! Some people know of the GCVM because they've been there once or twice in their lives, and others have never been there at all. It was so nice to have a spot where we could have the ceremony and reception all in 1 location, and still have time between to take so many pictures and your guests will not be bored! They have the opportunity to walk through the village and check out all it has to offer before making their way to your reception location. The wedding coordinator, Tammy was such a pleasure to work with. She is so quick to respond and is on top of her game! She is the biggest sweetheart and will do any/everything you need her to do to ensure your day runs smooth. I cannot say enough great things about the GCVM and Tammy <3 Reviewed on 16-11-2017
Lizzy Lincoln(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-11-2014 My husband and I wanted to host our families and friends in a barn setting to go along with the rustic decor we wanted to have at our wedding. The GCVM have 2 to choose from, the Exhibition hall and the Carriage Museum. We choose the exhibition hall due to its beautiful high ceiling and high capacity ability. The entire museum was ours for the day and we took advantage of the history laid out before us. We were the only ones there, such a magical beautiful place. Reviewed on 28-11-2014
Lindsey Ackles(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 11-10-2014 The staff was incredibly nice and organized. The grounds and buildings were absolutely beautiful. We loved the history of the place and look forward to going back to visit for years to come. People are still complimenting us on the venue!\r\r(ex. of the awesome staff - After you're married in one of the churches you get to ring the bell in the back of the church (we looked forward to it). On our day between the receiving line and pictures we forgot to ring the bell and didn't remember until well into the reception. As we were packing up the decorations after the night was over and all the guests were gone we mentioned the lack of bell ringing to our coordinator. Within 2 minutes he had radioed his staff and took us through the empty village via golf cart to the church where it was unlocked just for us to ring the bell.) Reviewed on 12-11-2014
