We were so pleased with our experience! Nicole from Gunston had answers for all of our questions and made wonderful suggestions. We were lucky enough to choose a perfect day in May, but Nicole was able to recommend a tent rental just in case. Our guests were able to tour the home. Thanks to having a large full service kitchen, our caterer was able to offer a delicious meal which she said she couldn't offer had we chosen somewhere with a small kitchen. Tables and chairs were provided. We had a perfect day and the grounds allowed for gorgeous pictures. Having free, plentiful parking was another wonderful bonus. I highly recommend Gunston! My husband and I had our wedding here on 4/22/23 and Nicole and Britt were so helpful! They made sure to ask me about any changes regarding how the inside should look or what tables to use. They also gave a great perspective about how to make more room in the Ann Mason room along with vendors that they have used in the past. I love that I booked my wedding with them and recommend their hospitality and kindness to anyone looking for a place to get married! Reviewed on 21-06-2023
Caitlin Buchheit(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-12-2022 Choosing to have our reception at Gunston Hall was one of the best choices we made. The grounds are beautiful, the staff (shout out to Nicole and Britt!) was so easy to work with and quick to answer questions, and our guests had nothing but positive things to say about the location. We were so lucky to find a location that has the historic feel of Virginia, and tremendous flexibility and amenities, all within a reasonable budget. We'd recommend Gunston Hall to anyone in a heartbeat! Reviewed on 22-01-2023
Amy DeWolf(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 06-06-2020 I can't say enough good things about Gunston Hall and specifically, the event coordinator Nicole. Planning a wedding in 2020 was not easy but Nicole worked with us on several big changes. She was responsive and kind and really made the whole thing much easier! Gunston Hall is a beautiful location with the perfect amount of historic charm and elegance, but still casual. Reviewed on 19-10-2020
Shana R(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 26-05-2019 As soon as we visited Gunston Hall, we knew it was the venue for us! The outdoor and indoor spaces are absolutely beautiful, the location is accessible from nearby airports but feels secluded, and Nicole is amazing and extremely helpful during the planning process and the day of. The price is great and we found the flexibility to DIY a lot of the wedding details (linens, catering, alcohol) really wonderful. I would say the one big con is that there's not a built-in rain day indoor space for the ceremony, so we did have to gamble on a tent deposit! Reviewed on 07-06-2019
Sarah Bachmann(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 20-04-2019 My husband and I can't say enough good things about working with Nicole and choosing Gunston Hall for our wedding. It was the best decision we made for our wedding, and in all honesty we didn't seriously consider any other venue. Gunston Hall stole our hearts! All of our guests thought the property was beautiful, and Nicole went above and beyond to help us. We had our ceremony in the afternoon, and right after the ceremony ended we were able to take photos inside the historic house itself. Once we were done with photos inside the house, our guests could take a tour of the house before going to the courtyard for a cocktail hour while the bride and groom took more couple photos outside among the beautiful trees. To go back to the planning, Nicole met with us several times in the course of our engagement, helped us figure out the best place to hold the various parts of our day (we did both our ceremony and reception on site), was incredibly responsive via email, and helped with set-up and breakdown of our wedding. We had our wedding ceremony outside under the big oak tree, cocktail reception in the courtyard, and dinner inside in the Ann Mason Room. The weather cooperated and we were able to have everything go as planned, but it was reassuring to know that there was a viable indoor option if we needed to move the ceremony inside. I have been with George Mason's Gunston Hall for 8 years as the Leader of Business Enterprise. I work with couples from the initial email or message until their special day saying \"I DO\" on our historic grounds.
