Outdoor Montana Weddings at Glacier National Park
Are you ready to enjoy Glacier National Park and the outdoors of Montana? Our grounds are ideally suited for outdoor weddings and events in a natural setting. Our ceremony site offers incredible views of the peaks of Glacier National Park, and our secluded, tented, reception meadow is surrounded by pine trees. A lovely 40×75-foot white tent provides shelter without taking away from the picturesque surroundings. We specialize in Montana destination weddings! Since our venue is your blank slate, you (or your coordinator) can design the evening you have always envisioned. Whether you want to keep it simple with communal farm tables or have a more glamorous look with round tables and white tablecloths, the sky is the limit. We supply the large reception tent with bistro string lights and beautiful ivory fabric as well as a 10'10' lodge-pole canvas tent for the bride to have a few calming minutes before the ceremony. Our site also has 2 portable restrooms, access to electricity and water. You bring your design ideas and create your dream. Whether your guests are traveling clear across the country or just down the road, we want them to feel at home at the Great Northern Resort. Our classic Glacier Park chalet lodging will accommodate your guests, giving you the comfort of knowing that everyone has a convenient place to stay and plenty of entertainment — just a short walk from your wedding festivities! On the property we have 5 fully-equipped log cabins as well as a brand-new 14-room Lodge. You can have a lot of your friends and family stay with you and create a weekend full of adventure and love. Since we are located only a quarter mile away from the entrance to Glacier National Park, your guests will not tire of things to do. While staying or your big day, entertain your guests by scheduling a group whitewater rafting trip for your family and friends (we do have group discounts!). They will never forget the laughing and splashing that comes along with making memories at Glacier National Park. Organize a group hike to Avalanche lake or have the groomsmen head out on a guided fly fishing trip (a perfect groomsman gift!). We booked Glacier Park Weddings without ever seeing the venue in person and we’re blown away when we got there for our wedding. The venue was amazing! Almost our entire wedding party stayed there, we did a group rafting trip through them, and Cathi and her staff could not have been easier to work with! Everyone had a great time and we could not have been happier with our choice! The wedding site was absolutely beautiful and the reception site was perfect!

Call Cathi at Glacier Park Weddings! We had to cancel our original wedding back in 2019 and then we met Cathi at Glacier Park Weddings we weren't convinced about have a wedding in Montana (we live in Cali) But Cathi just made us feel like so comfortable. We book on our drive back to Cali. Cathi hooked us up with an awesome wedding planner. Cathi helped us make sure our guests and us felt safe about getting married during COVID. it was a delight to work with her. OOO and the venue is beautiful and spacious and everything you could ever want.

We chose Great Northern Lodge because we wanted to partner up with a local small business that would work with us and not try to pull a fast one. We were on a budget and the groom is a Montanan so we wanted to get married there. Cathi was wonderful and super helpful up to the wedding day. She even worked with us on our budget by doing ticketed/cash bar. The wedding day and after communication really broke down. One issue was totally our fault and we did not dispute this at all. Some of the other problems were a combination of our coordinators(I have a review for them too) and Cathi and some just Cathi.My husband and I stayed 2 extra days after the wedding. One of the issues was a small amount of petals left in the aisle, one small box and rock that got paint on it. These could have been easily remedied in 30 minutes. One quick comment, but it was much easier to charge us $500. There was a communication breakdown on the wedding day between Cathi, caterer and our coordinator(who was supposed to manage this part) about disposal of trash. Cathi spoke to the caterer, but never spoke to the coordinator or us, it might be easier to charge another $500. The bar ran out of our beers that we requested, we weren’t able to drink our own drinks at our own wedding. She also charged us an extra $360.00 for things not in the contract, which she later paid us back for, but that was sneaky. She also agreed to count the tickets, but she did not count them and charged us for the full amount. It was the lack of communication to us or the coordinator of her frustration to try to remedy the issues. Things got real ugly afterwards, due to bottling the issues and blowing up with fees instead of talking to us or the coordinators. Complaining about making the tickets, even though she said “ Will you be creating your own “tickets”? Or will you need them to be created? I love doing fun stuff like that, so if you need, I’m happy to help!”. She made comments about our family and friends not being generous tippers and laid out the amount of tips she got from the night. That’s pretty unprofessional. She made a very direct comment where she supposed things about our personal finance, playing down the $1000.00 of fees saying “The amount is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.” Comparing it to a flight or a business class flight. One thousand dollars is a lot of money! And who flies business class?This is all very unfortunate. We thought we were working with a small local business that would work with us and be fair with the issues, but it’s easier and more profitable to bottle it up and throw fees at the problem. Really unfortunate. :( :(

Our wedding at Great Northern Resort was nothing short of perfect. We held all our events on site (welcome dinner, wedding, reception, and farewell brunch), plus we and our guests all stayed on site for the weekend (some of us stayed a whole week). We had an amazing time, the venue is GORGEOUS, our pictures are amazing, everything went smoothly... I couldn’t ask for anything more. Highly recommended!!

Getting married at the Great Northern Resort (Glacier Park Weddings and Events) was one of the best decisions we made about our wedding! Cathi and her team were phenomenal. They were accommodating, responsive, and obviously have a beautiful property! We had a last minute issue with a babysitter for one of our friends that has a small child and Cathi found someone to help babysit within hours of the reception. She truly cares about her guests. We also white water rafted with the team at Great Northern and if you are looking for adventurous memories to go along with your wedding, I highly recommend doing this! I am incredibly grateful for all the little things Cathi and her team did behind the scenes to make sure our day went off without a hitch. One thing to note, the bathrooms on-site are nicer porta-potties, they are great.... but if you want something with lights and a little nicer I would recommend working with QuarterMoon or another vendor that has portable toilets. Other than that you cannot go wrong!

Catherine Beers (Owner) I am a wife, a mom to two kids, dog-mom to two dogs and chicken-mom to 21 chickens. I like to fly fish, whitewater raft and take photos. I also love the process of helping couples choose their perfect spot and making memories of the best time of their lives.
