Glen Foerd is a one-of-a-kind waterfront venue, just 20 minutes from downtown Philadelphia. The stunning Riverside Pavilion is fully customizable and great for up to 300 guests. Glen Foerd was a dream venue for our wedding in July 2023. We mostly worked with Jaime Hollander Catering throughout the process and they were so easy to work with - highly communicative from the start. The best story I heard from the wedding was that a friend who has a strict diet due to allergies had talked to a staff member about what she could eat at the buffet and that staff member checked in on her multiple times to make sure she got foods that were suitable for her diet. This staff member really went above and beyond. As the bride and groom, we also had the best service on the day of so we didn't have worry about a thing all day. The only thing I suggest being aware of for those that are hosting their wedding in July is that the tent traps the heat so although the night might be a perfect temperature outside the tent, expect the tent to be much hotter. We had a lot of our guests hanging out on the patio after dinner due to the heat inside the tent. If we could go back we would invest in putting more fans in the tent. That considered, we had the best wedding day! The weather was threatening so we did our ceremony in the mansion and it was cozy, intimate and very beautiful. I think thats one thing that sets Glen Foerd apart as an outdoor venue - they had a great rain plan option for us. All of our guests had the best time and we all couldnt get over how beautiful this venue is. We would recommend hosting a wedding at Glen Foerd with Jamie Hollander Catering to anyone!

Glen Foerd was a dream venue for our wedding in July 2023. We mostly worked with Jaime Hollander Catering throughout the process and they were so easy to work with - highly communicative from the start. I had contacted 20+ vendors and was about to call it quits and elope when I found Glen Foerd. This venue is truly a gorgeous hidden gem tucked away along the Delaware River. From the very beginning of the process, Kelly was phenomenal. She was incredibly helpful and immediately responded to any questions we had. She was so approachable and knowledgable, and as someone who had absolutely no idea what I was doing, I felt so comfortable and confident working with her. We were able to schedule a private tasting session with her, and she was instrumental in helping us customize our menu and tweak certain items to our liking. Anthony, our day-of coordinator, was spectacular. My whole family wanted to adopt him, he made us all feel calm and cared for on the big day. He made sure we had everything we needed, and checked on my husband and I throughout the entire evening to make sure we were fed and had a drink in hand, all with the biggest smile on his face. The best energy you could ask for. The site is phenomenal, as both the grounds and the interior of the mansion are stunning. Despite the fact that it rained and we had to relocate our ceremony indoors, many of our guests thought that it was Plan A to be indoors all along since the room is so lovely and intimate. As our wedding day approached, I had so many people warning me that \"something always goes wrong on your wedding day.\" I can say that thanks to the entire Jamie Hollander team, absolutely nothing went wrong on our day. Truly, everything was so perfect, and we cannot say thank you enough.

We absolutely loved our wedding at Glen Foerd. The grounds are gorgeous and the mansion is so unique. We received so many compliments from our guests on how amazing the venue was and how they had never been to any wedding like it. Kelly and the Jamie Hollander team made our planning process so easy and stress free. They were there for every question we had along the way and really made sure every detail was thought through. Our day of coordinator was Anthony and I don't know how we would have gotten through the day without him. Whenever we needed something he or someone from his team was there and we have never felt so taken care of. 2 weeks later we're still talking about how amazing the entire Jamie Hollander team was and how seamlessly the day went thanks to them. We would choose Glen Foerd all over again!

We had our wedding in Spring 2023 on a very rainy weekend, and the beauty of Glen Foerd still shone through. Though the grounds of Glen Foerd are breathtaking, the mansion is just as beautiful. There are so many amazing locations to utilize. The service was impeccable, the bartenders were so fun. We were completely taken care of throughout the entire process, as were our guests. Kelly assisted us throughout the wedding planning process and was extremely patient, resourceful, and calm. The food was tremendous. We cannot recommend this venue enough. It is a hidden Philadelphian gem.

Glen Foerd is the most magical place to get married. It couldn't be more beautiful and it's so unique. I love the way that throughout the evening, you're always moving forward into a new and special location (i.e. getting married by the water, having cocktail hour inside the house, and dinner/dancing in the tent). Although I spent so much time on (wonderful) details, I think it was the venue that really set the tone for my wedding and my guests were truly in awe. The glue that held my wedding together though, was Grace. She was a huge driving factor in picking our venue. If you are as particular as I am, it is key to feel like someone will be taking good care of you, so that you can relax enjoy your wedding! I know that Grace is no longer working there, however, I have to imagine that many of the procedures (e.g. pre-wedding communication, set up, clean up, etc.) are still in place. The food was great and the waitstaff provided exceptionally good service. Another helpful thing is that they have some of their own furniture, which made some of my rentals seamless. I know I am biased when I say we had the best wedding I've ever been to, so I'll also let you know that many of our guests felt that way, as well! Needless to say, I could not recommend Glen Foerd enough.

We had the most perfect wedding at Glen Foerd! Book your wedding here ASAP! The venue is stunning, and the food was delicious. Our guests still rave about how good different food items were, with each having a different favorite. The Jamie Hollander team were so helpful every step of the way. I worked with a few members of their team throughout the process (Grace, Leslie, and Kate). Grace always prompted responded to my many questions via email. She gave input on some style choices and was helpful in recommending vendors. She was always friendly and had a calming presence. Kate was our month of coordinator and wow was she organized. She helped coordinate our alcohol order so we didn’t have to think. Day of the wedding, Kate seemed to be in 10 places at once. She was helpful in every way imaginable, from making sure I had water and lipstick to undoing the buttons on my dress for the dress change. She seamlessly helped me rearrange the order of the reception when I realized I needed to change out of my dress to eat. My family and friends still comment on how helpful she was throughout the day. Thank you to the JH team for making our day so special!

The moment we stepped on the grounds at Glen Foerd, we knew we wanted to do our wedding here. Grace and Kate were absolutely wonderful to work with and collaborated so well with our wedding planner to ensure everything went smoothly on our special day. They were very organized which made it easy to keep our timeline together leading up to the wedding. The food at Jamie Hollander was fantastic. Our guests loved the venue and gave many compliments about the food. We are so grateful for the staff at Glen Foerd for making our special day everything we wanted and more.

Aside from marrying my husband, choosing Glen Foerd as our wedding venue was the best decision I ever made. My guests are still complimenting about how beautiful and interesting the venue was: from the mansion with its historical elements and art, to the riverside ceremony and spacious reception pavilion. Not only is the property gorgeous, the staff is amazing. Grace, the wedding coordinator, was kind, calm, and helpful through every step of the planning process. Unfortunately, we were unable to have Grace with us for the day of our wedding, but I was assured her boss would take care of everything… we were not disappointed. I did not worry about a thing on my wedding day because every detail was taken care of. I knew the food would be fantastic based on prior experience with Jamie Hollander’s catering, but the staff exceeded all of my expectations. Everyone I encountered had a positive attitude, friendly smile, and willingness to help with whatever was needed. Even at 12 AM when I know everyone had already had a very long day.In all, Glen Foerd is the perfect wedding venue in the Philadelphia area. You will not be disappointed!

Glen Foerd was the last venue I toured, but the moment I stepped on the grounds, I knew I was going to have our wedding there. I have nothing but amazing things to say! The one thing I pressed about was if the pandemic was still going on, that the wedding could be changed, and I was assured, that it would be no problem. Coordinator Grace Mycek was there with us every step of the way, giving advice, and helping out whenever needed. I look forward to going back on our anniversary!

The second I set foot on Glen Foerd’s grounds, I was smitten. I had already toured a number of other venues and none had the same impact. Grace showed me around the Glen Foerd mansion, which was not only stunning but steeped in history. I was then blown away by the breathtaking views of the Delaware River from the ceremony and cocktail hour sites. The Riverside Pavilion was just what we were looking for – a huge dance floor, great coverage in the event of rain (including a sizeable overhang and the possibility to close all sides), and sturdy cement floors that wouldn’t turn to mush/mud in inclement weather. We rushed to book Glen Foerd, even before my partner had a chance to see it in-person – something we absolutely would not have done if I weren’t so head-over-heels in love with the venue. When we finally paid a visit together, my partner was just as blown away. It really is the perfect event space if you’re looking for an elegant, primarily outdoor venue with beautiful views of both water and greenery. And the historic mansion makes a great Plan B ceremony location in the event of rain! Events at Glen Foerd are run by Jamie Hollander Catering and have the added bonus of including an event coordinator. Our event coordinator, Grace, was AMAZING. She really made the whole process of planning a wedding so much easier by coordinating with all of our vendors and helping us use AllSeated to plan out floor plans and table seating. Although some couples may still want to hire a wedding planner to help with all of the little decisions, we opted not to, since we were primarily concerned about having someone there the day-of to make sure everything ran smoothly. Glen Foerd was also flexible when we had to reschedule our wedding due to the pandemic. Although we weren’t able to reschedule for a Saturday as we had hoped, we were able to reschedule for a Friday in 2021 without losing our initial deposit. When the big day came, we were thrilled to see our vision come together. It was truly a magical day -- Grace did a fabulous job, ensuring that everything ran smoothly, from the wedding processional (which we didn’t have time to rehearse), to the transition to cocktail hour, to coordinating dinner service. Grace really made sure the whole day/night proceeded without incident, although she did leave after dinner was served (note: we knew this ahead of time, and the event continued without a hitch. We just missed Grace’s top-notch attention to detail and organizational skills during event cleanup). The icing on the cake was the phenomenal food served by Jamie Hollander! Our guests were raving about the appetizers and their meals. Of course, it is a universal truth that something has to go wrong at a wedding, but we were so lucky that the only small “bump” in the road happened after the wedding was over. And that was largely due to our failure to communicate to the Jamie Hollander team what we wanted packed into our car, as well as what we needed to take with us (for example, I didn’t think to take my bridal bouquet home with me at the end of the night, but I should have!). Overall, if we were picking a venue and catering company again, I would 100% pick Glen Foerd and the Jamie Hollander team. Highly, highly recommend!

The best day! We had our November 2021 Wedding at Glen Foerd with the help of the Jamie Hollander team. We had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic which was extremely easy to do with the GF/JH team. We worked with Grace in the planning process for our day of coordinator and she was fantastic. I felt so at ease with how the day would go in terms of the order of events as Grace had every hour planned out for us. The venue itself is gorgeous. We had our ceremony upstairs in the gallery and it was breathtaking! The food was also amazing! We had a great time with the tasting and on the day of. I still get compliments on the waffle ice cream sandwiches! So happy I chose GF and JH for my big day.

I cannot imagine a better venue than Glen Foerd, and believe me when I say we looked at like...every single venue in the area. We had to push our wedding back an entire year due to COVID and Grace worked closely with us to accommodate our new date and help us navigate a very stressful time. The venue itself is beautiful, our guests loved how gorgeous the mansion and grounds are. The art gallery on the top floor was a particular hit! Our guests loved touring it during our event and we took gorgeous wedding photos up there. But pretty much everywhere at Glen Foerd makes a good wedding photo. And having our ceremony right in front of the water was stunning. Grace was an amazing coordinator and made sure everything ran smoothly on our wedding day. And the food was great! Everyone raved about how good it was, and I'm personally still in mourning that I missed the mini-waffles at the desert station because I heard they were delicious. Honestly, I couldn't think of a more perfect venue for our special day, and Grace and the team at Jamie Hollander made everything go off without a hitch. I can't recommend this venue enough!

This venue is a dream! The outside is so beautiful with so many options for the ceremony, not to mention the beautiful gardens that are perfect for photos. While it was the outside that lured us initially, the best part of this venue is that the inside is equally beautiful, which was great when a nor’easter decided to show up at our wedding! Grace and their staff pulled of a perfect execution of such a beautiful ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all of which were moved inside last minute. This is less of a review and more of a love letter to Glen Foerd, Jamie Hollander + the most amazing coordinator Grace. We could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish and our wedding was more magical than we ever could have dreamed of. We booked back in May of 2019 prior to the pandemic so we had to navigate COVID during our planning process. Grace was so helpful and kind - giving us suggestions but still allowing us to make what we felt like was the best decision. We did end up postponing and it was such an easy process. Grace put a soft hold on what would be our one year anniversary (we had a micro ceremony on our original date) giving us enough time to talk to our other vendors to make sure they were okay with the move. Once we locked into our 2021 date, Grace + Jamie Hollander did not raise any prices despite I’m sure their own costs going up, but instead even gave us a generous discount on food since we moved to a Sunday! Grace was such a pleasure to work with the entire planning process. She is incredibly organized and such a delightful person. Every interaction we had with her was so positive and professional and she really made me feel calm and reassured during such a bonkers time. She was very patient in answering my questions (even when they were repeats) and gave us the most individualized and personalized attention. She is truly the best. My husband and I kept saying even if everything went wrong the entire morning we knew as soon as we got to Glen Foerd it wouldn’t matter because Grace had our back!The day of our wedding was not the best weather, and Grace very calmly suggested we move our ceremony inside. We were more than happy to oblige (such a stunning rain plan!). Grace seamlessly coordinated with all of our vendors to get them on board with the new plan. When we arrived, she greeted us with an umbrella to make sure we didn’t get wet! She was incredibly corralling our somewhat spunky bridal party and making sure everyone knew exactly where they needed to be and when. She even got cocktails for my husband and I and brought them over to us knowing we had so many pictures to do we wouldn’t have time to hit the bar ourselves. I truly cannot write enough praise for Grace, she is one of a kind. Anthony, Grace’s second in command was also incredible. Every time either my husband or I needed something he was right there. He even followed us around with a tray of appetizers to make sure we got to eat. He did an incredible job laying out my very long and fussy train for the ceremony. My husband also thought he left his wallet and Anthony was so helpful responding to his text very late at night to look for it at the venue after we left. Finally, the wait staff, bartenders, valet and other support staff were so incredible. They were so kind, patient and polite. The food was incredible, and there was absolutely no lapse in service. They also did an amazing job packing our car at the end of the night. We had several large floral arrangements and breakable items and they did the most incredible job making sure not a single flower got broken all while fitting everything into our car. Seriously amazing. We had the most magical day and I know it wouldn’t have been possible without Grace, Anthony + all of the Jamie Hollander team.

From the amazing catering to the charm of the venue itself, Glen Foerd is a true gem and the best venue you can imagine. We immediately fell in love with Glen Foerd when we visited the grounds- from the exquisite views of the water and nearby yacht club, the beautiful area, and the mansion itself, Glen Foerd was simply perfect. We were fortunate enough to have our small reception inside the mansion, which my husband so perfectly said was like a character in the wedding . The mansion’s history and charm immediately drew us in, and it provided the most breathtaking backdrop to our wedding. Guests continue to rave about how perfect this venue is and how much fun they had, without us having to provide any additional entertainment. From the art gallery, to the history throughout, GF offers so much to your guests at every turn. The real heroes of this venue though are Jamie Hollander catering and their team. We had the pleasure of working with Leslie, who could not have been more amazing. Leslie honestly made us feel like the only couple she was working with. Her response time to every email, no matter how trivial the question, was remarkable, and her response was always “yes” and “absolutely”- she and her team wanted everything to be perfect and exactly what we envisioned. Leslie also helped us navigate the wedding planning process- functioning almost like a wedding planner as she reviewed every possible detail. There was not one thing she missed and you could tell that she truly wanted everything to be more than perfect for us. Leslie was beyond professional and coordinated our team of vendors with ease. Leslie and team provided so many tables and items for our vendors, and made sure that everything flowed seamlessly throughout. At the end, Leslie and her team even packed up our car and sent us away fresh off the dance floor. Everything was executed flawlessly and was neatly organized for us the next day. Don’t just take our word-our guests could not stop raving about the amazing food and drinks- absolutely everything was perfect and everyone left full and wanting to bring more home. Glen Foerd and the Jamie Hollander team are phenomenal. Hosting our wedding at Glen Foerd was the best decision we made. The venue itself is stunning; inside the estate, outside on the water, and inside the reception tent were all beautiful backdrops to the fun everyone was having. The Jamie Hollander team knows what they are doing-my husband and I had a drink in hand and trays of cocktail apps nearby at all times. A simple but meaningful touch that made us feel like our day was really special. Every single staff member was kind and professional. From the bartenders to the servers, there are many stories from family/friends telling us how helpful and nice the staff were. And then there is Grace-she is an absolute gem! Leading up to the day, she answered every single question no matter how small. My husband and I didn't have a single worry on our wedding day, and it is Grace we have to thank for that. She handles it all and I genuinely do not know what I would've done without her there. She is sweet, professional, and amazing at what she does. The Glen Foerd/Jamie Hollander combo is the best of the best when it comes to a wedding venue and catering duo. Our day was so amazing, and we are forever grateful!!

The venue itself is stunning; inside the estate, outside on the water, and inside the reception tent were all beautiful backdrops to the fun everyone was having. The Jamie Hollander team knows what they are doing-my husband and I had a drink in hand and trays of cocktail apps nearby at all times. A simple but meaningful touch that made us feel like our day was really special. Every single staff member was kind and professional. From the bartenders to the servers, there are many stories from family/friends telling us how helpful and nice the staff were. And then there is Grace-she is an absolute gem! Leading up to the day, she answered every single question no matter how small. My husband and I didn't have a single worry on our wedding day, and it is Grace we have to thank for that. She handles it all and I genuinely do not know what I would've done without her there. She is sweet, professional, and amazing at what she does. The Glen Foerd/Jamie Hollander combo is the best of the best when it comes to a wedding venue and catering duo. Our day was so amazing, and we are forever grateful!!

Glen Foerd was the absolute perfect setting for our magical day on 5/29/21. We booked over a year in advance pre-COVID and the Jamie Hollander team could not have been more accommodating, communicative and flexible during an incredibly a year of stressful wedding planning amidst the pandemic. In the end we were able to have our event on the originally planned day and it couldn't have been more perfect. From the very first day that we toured the venue our coordinator Grace was by our side helping every step of the way. She was attentive, thoughtful, detail-oriented and just all around lovely. As a career planner I don't trust just anyone easily to handle logistics, but Grace was on top of EVERYTHING from day one. The grounds are gorgeous as Glen Foerd is a part of the Philadelphia parks system. It's right on the water and has a grand gated entrance that immediately impresses your guests. During any season there are a variety of plants and flowers in bloom -- there's really not even a need to \"decorate\" as the venue itself is perfection. Which leads me to the mansion itself! We ended up having a rainy cold day and moved our ceremony indoors which in hindsight was even more perfect than our original plan. Everything about the interior is elegant with each room dedicated to an art installation or art collections. Our guests LOVED it. The food could not have been better. Jamie Hollander has SO many options for appetizers as well as meals, it's almost impossible to narrow the choices down. Because of the pandemic we had to reschedule our tasting multiple times, but once we finally had it, it was perfection. Our guests are still talking about the mini cheesesteaks and mini lobster tacos!The reception tent is beautiful in and of itself. It's the best setting for the party of a lifetime. I can't possible recommend the Glen Foerd mansion, the Jamie Hollander catering team, and Grace enough!

My husband and I got married at Glen Foerd on 10/17/20. While this was our original date, our plans shifted to postpone our big event to next year and have a micro wedding with 20 guests this year. Leslie and the staff set up and took down all of our personal decor which made it so easy for our friends and family to relax. Not to mention, the venue itself is insanely beautiful. We got married along the river, but they have a number of ceremony options and a beautiful indoor space if it’s raining. Overall, I have no complaints and this was the easiest part of an extremely difficult year to be getting married. We are even more excited for next year and have no worries because we know everything is going to be amazing then too!

I know I am biased, but Glen Foerd is hands down the most beautiful wedding venue I have ever been to! I got married there over the summer and it was perfect. Our wedding was in October 2019 at Glen Foerd. The day couldn’t have gone better – everyone says that something will go wrong at your wedding, and if it did, I certainly didn’t notice! The venue was as beautiful as we remembered from the first meeting, and when we visited again for the final walkthrough, we felt very prepared for the big day. I asked a lot of questions throughout the planning process and all of my emails were met with helpful answers; we even chose our transportation, florist and photographer based on some of Glen Foerd’s recommended vendors, and we were so happy with every vendor.Our assigned event coordinator left right before our wedding (as we found out at the final walkthrough), which we were not too pleased with, but Grace took over and did a wonderful job. The entire staff was incredible and attentive, making sure my husband and I had all we needed, and even brought out trays of every h'our derv for our bridal party when we were waiting for introductions to start. Also- the food was incredible! All of our guests haven't stopped raving about how delicious every single thing was (also, I was told it was an all female kitchen staff that night so kudos!!). I can't say enough about Glen Foerd, the staff, and how wonderful they made our special day. I wish we could re-live it over and over!

My husband and I just got married at Glen Foerd on August 10, 2019 and it was absolutely perfect. I couldn’t wait to post this review of the venue and the wonderful Jamie Hollander/Glen Foerd team. We came across Glen Foerd in a search for waterfront venues and the second we saw the beautiful location, we knew it was everything we could have hoped for and more. The mansion with patio overlooking the water, the gorgeous open Pavilion with 360 views and the countless photo ops on the grounds were what drew us to Glen Foerd, but it was the incredible team that made us feel comfortable and happy throughout the entire process. The event planner Meredith Brown was incredibly accommodating and over-the-top helpful from the start. She worked with me (for nearly a year) to create the perfect menu within my budget, address my weekly questions or concerns (and put my mind at ease) and helped to bring ALL of our ‘personal touches’ to life on the day. My family and I invested so much time into planning our wedding and truly felt like she and her staff were with us every step of the way. I was the bride that needed everything to be perfect, and our evening was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Would 100% recommend this venue to anyone. Can’t stop smiling :)

My husband and I got married at Glen Foerd on 6.15.19 and it was incredible! The venue itself is absolutely stunning. If the weather is nice and you're able to be outside, the grounds are beautiful, and you'll definitely save on florist costs, as there is very little you need to add. Even if you get married in the winter or it rains, the mansion itself is really incredible. There's great history, and small exhibits your guests can see. There's so much that each guest will have a different experience! The staff are LOVELY. Our wait staff/bartenders/etc. were incredible. They were so sweet, some going so out of their way to make sure my husband and I got the foods we liked, and made sure we were able to eat! Also, the food is really delicious. It's hard to feed 100+ people, and food isn't always a highlight at weddings, but they do such a great job. Also, our coordinator, Meredith, was fantastic and our day wouldn't have been the same without her. She's completely on top of everything, super responsive, and cool-headed, which is a great quality for anyone working in the wedding industry. I had mishaps that she immediately jumped on and helped me with, as well as helped me find solutions for a very non-traditional seating assignment for guests. There were just a couple things I think could have been done better. If you're having an outdoor ceremony, our sound wasn't great. The speaker was set very far back, away from where the actual ceremony was, so there was a delay, which muddled things. Also, no one heard me speaking, and wish someone on staff adjusted the mic/told me at the time. Second thing, setting your menu could be better. There aren't prices listed per item, so for us it was a lot of guess and check to lock in a price which was really time consuming.Overall - I'd recommend GF 100 times over for anyone. A couple of times during our wedding my husband and I just looked around and needed to take in how beautiful everything was. That's an amazing feeling!

First and foremost, we have to mention how wonderful our coordinator, Meredith, was. From the beginning, she was responsive, organized and friendly. She made sure everything was planned accordingly prior to the event and on the day of the wedding, she coordinated everything seamlessly so that we could fully enjoy ourselves. The rest of the staff was incredible and attentive as well. Alphonso even brought me an entire platter of hors d'oeuvres to ensure I had tried them all. And they were delicious (along with the other food throughout the night.) As for the venue itself and the experience, we heard nothing but positive feedback from our guests. They were wowed by the beauty of the grounds (which were green and blooming in May), the ornate and historical nature of the mansion, and the romantic vibe of the tent.So in summary, book this place! You won’t regret it. And I hope you get to work with Meredith. She’s wonderful.

My husband and I got married at Glen Foerd on 11/2/18. For couples looking for an absolutely charming riverside historic venue with indoor/outdoor amenities, near/in Philadelphia, that can comfortably fit 200+ people, this is the place for you! Meredith helped us throughout the entire planning process and Becky was there in the stages leading up to the big day to make sure our day went seamlessly - they are the perfect planning pair! They were so responsive if we had any questions at all or just to bounce ideas off of and we very much appreciated that. They also coordinated logistics with all of our vendors from the band to the florist to the bagpiper and every other vendor in between, which was extremely helpful. Now a little bit about the estate. This place is a hidden gem that is sure to please. The mansion is gorgeous with its stately shutters, charming wraparound porch and beautiful pillars. Inside you take a step back in time to a pristinely maintained space that included separate groomsman and bridal suites, a timeless staircase, indoor porch, artwork, and larger open rooms that can be used for an indoor ceremony and for cocktail hour. We had our reception in the tented pavilion which was the perfect mix of clean classic elegance that allowed us to incorporate a rustic element as well. The space is open and the drapery on the ceiling with string lights is the perfect canvas to make your own. The entire setting right along the Delaware river was truly magical. Also, the entire estate is yours to explore for the night when you plan your wedding there.Next, the food, oh the food. Guests couldn't stop raving about the food! The cocktail hour and dinner menu choices were abundant and it was difficult to narrow down our selections. My husband and I got married at Glen Foerd on 11/2/18. For couples looking for an absolutely charming riverside historic venue with indoor/outdoor amenities, near/in Philadelphia, that can comfortably fit 200+ people, this is the place for you! Meredith helped us throughout the entire planning process and Becky was there in the stages leading up to the big day to make sure our day went seamlessly - they are the perfect planning pair! They were so responsive if we had any questions at all or just to bounce ideas off of and we very much appreciated that. They also coordinated logistics with all of our vendors from the band to the florist to the bagpiper and every other vendor in between, which was extremely helpful. Now a little bit about the estate. This place is a hidden gem that is sure to please. The mansion is gorgeous with its stately shutters, charming wraparound porch and beautiful pillars. Inside you take a step back in time to a pristinely maintained space that included separate groomsman and bridal suites, a timeless staircase, indoor porch, artwork, and larger open rooms that can be used for an indoor ceremony and for cocktail hour. We had our reception in the tented pavilion which was the perfect mix of clean classic elegance that allowed us to incorporate a rustic element as well. The space is open and the drapery on the ceiling with string lights is the perfect canvas to make your own. The entire setting right along the Delaware river was truly magical. Also, the entire estate is yours to explore for the night when you plan your wedding there.Next, the food, oh the food. Guests couldn't stop raving about the food! The cocktail hour and dinner menu choices were abundant and it was difficult to narrow down our selections. Ultimately when we chose, everything was just as delicious as it was when we had our tasting months before. Beyond words! My Husband and I got married on 10/6/18, and everything was perfection! My coordinator Leslie was so on top of her game, I cannot imagine what the day would have been like without her. Also, my family and family friends are in the restaurant business, and EVERYONE was raving about how good the food was. Jaime Hollander does an exceptional catering job, the way it tastes on your tasting day is the way it tastes on your wedding day. The mansion is beautiful, the art muesum upstairs is amazing and so different, and you do not need a lot to decorate because everything is so ornate. I have zero regrets about having my wedding there and want to go back every year to celebrate our anniversary. It is beautiful, the staff was amazing and playful, but also very professional, and they just know how to take care of the bride and groom. An under-rated note: After the ceremony they whisked John and I upstairs and had two personal cocktails waiting for us, and a HUGE platter with 2 of every appetizer, along with items from our seafood station/raw bar for us to eat. Then before we did intros in the tent, ANOTHER Platter of food was brought out for me and my bridal party to ensure we had something to munch on before starting the party. If you want an indoor out door wedding, if you want to have romantic views without leaving the city, and if you really care about how your food tastes, book the Glen Foerd, work with Leslie and Kate, and you will regret nothing.

They did an incredible job, solving problems and putting up decorations without even being prompted. They even coordinated the vendors for us. Plus, there were no surprise costs. Everything was straight forward. I couldn't have asked for a better venue!

I can not rave about Glen Foerd and Leslie, the coordinator, enough! We had our wedding there in August and Leslie was simply wonderful throughout the planning process. She was incredibly responsive and helpful and made me feel like our wedding was in good hands. She also helped manage a few family squabbles related to AC, and her expertise made me feel confident in our decisions. On the day of the wedding, she kept everything on schedule and helped manage any incidents so that I didn't even know they were going on! She is a true event pro and awesome at her job. Glen Foerd was also such a beautiful location and was very accommodating. The one downside is that the Mansion is not ADA accessible, but other than that everything was simply perfect. We couldn't have picked a better place to get married and would highly recommend it to anyone!

First of all, Leslie at Glen Foerd is the BEST. We met her after booking Glen Foerd with a different event planner, who left at Jamie Hollander a few months later. While we was a little disheartened by the switch, Leslie made the transition so smooth and was so easy to work with. She is so organized and on top of everything - when we had our walkthrough with her a couple months before the wedding, we were immediately put at ease and knew that we were in good hands. She's been in this business for a long time, and was always available to answer our questions and was open to any ideas that we had. The day of the wedding was seamless - all of our decor was set up how we envisioned, the timing of all the events ran so smoothly, and my husband and I felt so catered to the entire night. The estate itself is gorgeous. The mansion is open to you and your guests to walk around and explore, as are the grounds surrounding the property. The bridal suite is absolutely stunning - overlooks the water and the ceremony space, gets so much natural light, and is really beautiful to put your dress on in! Our ceremony was held outside, under a big tree right on the water - they are super flexible and can set up the ceremony wherever you'd like. Luckily the weather worked in our favor, but the inside option for a ceremony is also beautiful! Our cocktail hour was held on a stone patio and in the sunroom of the mansion, which was light and airy, and there is a space for live musicians to play. The tented reception is really pretty - there is a big dance floor and plenty of space for tables to be set up however you choose, and the side panels come up to allow for an open, airy feeling. The food is delicious, they allow you to bring your own alcohol (which helped save on costs) and overall price (includes venue, catering, rentals) was really reasonable. We had an absolutely wonderful experience, and would definitely recommend checking out this incredible property :)

We just got married at Glen Foerd in June and had a beautiful wedding. I was ultimately so happy with our choice of Glen Foerd as a venue. I looked far and wide for a venue with the kind of vintage charm that Glen Foerd offers. We held the ceremony and reception on the property and were blessed with great warm weather, allowing guests to enjoy the beautiful grounds and breathtaking Delaware river, which is everywhere you look. The mansion is equally beautiful, and includes so many interesting, unique details. The entire space is huge but does not swallow a 100-person group. The staff at Jamie Hollander were outstanding. Leslie Cervenka, our event coordinator, did an amazing job. She was so helpful and patient with us, listening to every request and making sure things were just how we wanted them. We received many compliments on the delicious food, and the servers could not have been nicer or more professional. Throughout the night the team made sure we had ample food and drinks, bringing appetizers and cocktails to us, and later serving us plates at our sweetheart table. I believe this venue is a good value for the cost, and provides a great atmosphere if you're looking for a classic, romantic and formal event. Guests all commented on how much they loved the property and enjoyed exploring it. While the riverside pavilion offers a pretty, spacious space for all the guests to dine and dance, the layout of the venue also allows people to roam and explore (perfect for those who may not want to dance all night). Some of our earliest communications with the venue left me a little confused about the planning process, but once we were matched with Leslie all went smoothly. GF offers the perfect amount of assistance for those who enjoy planning but also need some help. My only regret is that we didn't pay extra to get into the venue earlier the day of the wedding. We had such a wonderful night but think we could have enjoyed it even more if we'd had a bit more time.

As soon as I stepped on Glen Foerd's property I knew this would be the place were I would get married. The historic mansion overlooking the Delaware River gave the wedding a beautiful romantic and old fashion vibe and my guest loved everything about the venue. Leslie who coordinated the wedding at Glen Foerd was unbelievable! She was so accommodating and she made the wedding exactly how I wanted it! If I could I would give the venue more than 5 stars! I highly recommend this venue to all!

We recently had our wedding at Glen Foerd and it was wonderful. We wrote a separate review for what an amazing job Jamie Hollander did as our caterer (especially our coordinator Leslie!), but wanted to spend a few words praising the venue itself. The site is beautiful and we fell in love with it as soon as we toured it. Unfortunately it rained the day of our wedding and we did not get the waterside ceremony we imagined. However, the indoor location for the ceremony worked perfectly for our 120 guests. It wasn’t what we planned, but it was beautiful and perfect anyway. Our guests loved cocktail hour in the mansion, particularly the historic stuff like the museum upstairs. They also had a great time at the reception in the pavilion. We got numerous compliments about how nice the place was. Glen Foerd was really the perfect location for our wedding.

This review is entirely based on our experience with Jamie Hollander, Glen Foerd's exclusive caterer. Glen Foerd is a beautiful wedding venue, and we were so excited to have our wedding there. Unfortunately, we canceled our wedding due to an unfortunate situation with Jamie Hollander.We put a deposit down on our date, 18 months prior to the date of our wedding. Our first wedding coordinator designated by Jamie Hollander was hard to get in touch with, made false promises and verbally agreed upon pricing that he could not follow through on (which we didn't know at the time). We were waiting for our menu to be finalized when he was fired, 9 months before our wedding. The price per person that he promised us, we were then told could not happen. We were extremely confused since we booked the venue and caterer on the premise of what their coordinator had told us. It didn't matter to Jamie Hollander. We proceeded to have back and forth calls with other employees for 2 weeks, until we finally had a call with Jamie Hollander himself. This was the most unprofessional and condescending conversation I have ever had with a business owner. As we tried to explain our side of the story dealing with his former coordinator, he proceeded to tell us \"it sounds like you can't afford us\" and \"excuse me for asking this, but what makes you so special that **** would give you this price?\" Jamie was rude, condescending and offensive. They gave us an ultimatum: pay the higher price tag or release your date. After days of crying, we ultimately decided to cancel our contract with Jamie Hollander because we did not feel right giving them our business after the way we were treated by them. Their food was good, but not worth the headaches and drama that we experienced.

I visited five or six venues, but after seeing the Glen Foerd I knew where I wanted to have my wedding. We had it in early November and the weather turned out perfect. The staff, house, and grounds were all amazing. All of my guests had a fabulous time and we got many compliments like, \"Wow! You guys really know how to throw a party!\" and \"This is like a Cinderella wedding!\" A nice little perk was the art gallery on the second floor which was open for guests to explore during cocktail hour. On the night of my wedding they took special care to make sure my new husband and I were well taken care of and got to try all the food, which I greatly appreciated ;-) The food, catered by Jamie Hollander, was outstanding. I had numerous compliments on it as well. Their appetizers were especially delicious and unique and really delighted my guests. The only reason I didn't give a five star rating is that the Glen Foerd's event planner, who was an employee of Jamie Hollander catering, was not very good at communicating. I lived out of the area and was doing alot of my planning via email. I would email him and not hear back for a long time if ever. He was also difficult to get hold of via phone calls. Other Jamie Hollander employees were very prompt and easy to communicate with via email. In person, the event planner was lovely, easy to talk with, had a great personality, and really knew what he was doing. The day of the wedding he did a fabulous job, and everything ended up exactly as I wanted it. My only frustration, but it was a big one, was that he would not respond to my emails throughout the many months of wedding planning. I could not resolve certain things when I needed to, it drew out many projects that could have been closed sooner, and added greatly to the already immense stress of planning the wedding. If he is just too busy to attend to his emails properly, Jamie Hollander should take this into account and provide some support as it was the only thing that detracted from my experience with them and the Glen Foerd.

I fell in love with this venue the minute I stepped on the property. The mansion is a historical landmark, the grounds overlooking the water are gorgeous, and the reception tent is the perfect mix of elegance and fun. Special touches such as the upstairs bridal suite and basement ratskellar for our afterparty made this a unique venue unlike anything we've seen before. The catering company (Jamie Hollander) also manages all the reception logistic and coordinates with your vendors. I can't recommend Glen Foerd enough!

I just had my wedding at the Glen Foerd Mansion on June 7th, 2014. My wedding was AMAZING, it was better then I ever could have imagined it to be. To start, Jamie Hollander is the new in-house caterer for this venue. Kate Conaway was their event coordinator is PHONOMENAL . As soon as I met Kate I knew I liked her and was confident my wedding was in good hands She really understood everything I wanted and also had some great new ideas. Her responsiveness to my questions was always very timely which I appreciated. The mansion and grounds at Glen Foerd is breathtaking.. My guests enjoyed cocktail hour inside the mansion and on the new outside terrace which was part of the renovation. .Then after cocktail hour everyone was moved to a beautiful tent that sits right on the water. Since it was such a nice day out they lifted the sides so it felt like the wedding was literally right on the Delaware. Now lets talk about the AMAZNG, DELICIOUS, UNIQUE FOOD. I am still getting compliments about how good the food was at my wedding. The hor d'oeuvres were unbelievably good. I liked that even some of the classic hor d'oeuvres had a different flare to them and also the presentation was very unique As for dinner, I decided to go with a stations menu. I chose a carving station and Italian station. EVERYTHING was SO Good. My guests had so much fun with the food. They had so many choices and the stations were kept open until people stopped coming up for more. My father is a very tough critic and as he paid for my wedding I know he really wanted to be impressed. He told me that night that it was the perfect day and Kate and Jamie Hollanders team exceeded his expectations. The day could not have been more perfect. Thank you so much for making Chris' and I's wedding day so awesome. We wish we could relive it! I would recommend having your wedding at the Glen Foerd Mansion to anyone.

I would highly recommend Conroy Catering for any wedding. My husband and I had our wedding at the Glen Foerd Mansion, and Conroy catered our event. In a word, the food was exceptional. We chose the “Bronze” package, which was their least expensive package, and we were very satisfied. The butlered hors d'oeuvres and the bruschetta bar were absolutely amazing! These were definitely our favorites. \rFor their meals, our guests had the choice of chicken, eggplant, or salmon (there were other options in the Bronze package, as well), and all of the meals were delicious. We chose a red velvet cake, and that was a great choice too. \rMy husband has some prior experience working with a catering company, and he was very happy with the smoothness of how things unfolded with all of our different vendors (DJ, photo booth attendant, photographers). They worked very well together. Conroy Catering ensured that all of the vendors worked very cohesively together which made it almost seem as if all the different vendors were a part of Conroy Catering.\rThe wait staff and bridal attendant were very personable and took very good care of us. We could not have been happier with choosing Conroy Catering!

I am so happy I chose Glen Foerd as my wedding venue. My husband and I are both city people and wanted something different from the standard hotel ballroom reception. The venue was perfect, the food was excellent, and the service was very good. I wish they would allow for private tastings, or offered more group tastings. Also, my personal attendant was a tad pushy. I love how they were able to load in all of my decorations the day before. Lori responded to all of my emails quickly, and Jeanie was incredibly helpful the day before and the day of. I would pick Glen Foerd all over again.

My husband and I loved having our wedding at the Glen Foerd mansion. We also got many compliments from our guests on our choice of venue.\r\rWe live in London but wanted to have the wedding in the Philadelphia area where my parents live. We chose Glen Foerd because it is a historical building with gorgeous architecture, an art gallery upstairs and works of art throughout. The mansion faces the Delaware River and is also beautifully landscaped. It also made sense financially because use of the mansion was included in the package we chose from Conroy Catering, which was competitively priced.\r\rThe set up at Glen Foerd gives couples a lot of options for their ceremony and reception. We were married by the gazebo, but could have also chosen a spot right by the water or at the jetty. If it had rained too heavily, we could also have had the ceremony in the drawing room or the conservatory. \r\rFor lunch, we opted to eat in the dining room, which was just the right size for our wedding of 80 people, although it could have accommodated more. We moved to the larger conservatory for the cake cutting and dancing. We were at first concerned that the conservatory would be too large for our group, but with the tables, DJ stand and various food and drink stations, it worked well.

Our wedding was amazing and exactly what we envisioned. \rThe mansion and grounds are beautiful with the Delaware River as its backdrop. It is a true gem in NE Philly.\r\rThe staff with Conroy Catering made our day. The food surpassed expectations and we received great personal attention. Thank you to the entire staff! \r\rConroy Catering is currently the exclusive catering company at Glen Foerd. To my knowledge, the parks department has not renewed Conroy's contract and is selecting another company to take over in 2014. Loosing Conroy Catering will be a great loss for the venue. \r\rFor those planning their wedding....here are some helpful hints about the venue:\r1. The mansion does have AC on the first floor. The bridal suite does have an AC unit, but it still can be rather hot during the summer months. \r\r2. The art gallery is a gem! However, the gallery has limited access during tours and your reception. Also, the art gallery is not climate controlled. \r\r3. Tour the mansion and grounds to preselect your 'photo' locations. The grounds are large and it can take a while to walk around during your wedding for photos on the property. Pick your favorite spots and discuss with your photographer. \r\r4. If you have guest not familiar with the area, be sure to use Conroy's directions. With one way streets, some GPS services have trouble. It is about 30 minutes north of the Philly Airport. \r\r5. There are several restrictions about the use of the facility because it is a historical landmark. As always, become informed about the restrictions as to not become disappointed. (For example: no flower toss inside,rehearsal is not guaranteed until the wk of your event, limited tour hours, etc)\r\r

Glen Foerd is a true one of a kind find. At first we knew we wanted water at our location but not a beach or pond and Glen Foerd was one of the few locations in PA that provided this. However, it is not just the Delaware River backdrop to our ceremony that made Glen Foerd perfect. Glen Foerd had everything from a beautiful location to great food. We had our ceremony outside on the river, used the mansion for cocktail hour and had our reception in the Conservatory. The Conservatory was really the thing that sold us in the end. It is a year-round \"tented\" area with stone floors and chandeliers on the river. It was the most beautiful location for our reception. Everything about this mansion is perfect. The house offers a wine-cellar for tastings at cocktail hour, an organ, a piano, an art gallery tour during cocktail hour and so much more. The staff at Glen Ford and with Conroy Catering was truly amazing. They catered to our every need on our wedding day, including making sure that we got to taste every single bite of food offered. The food provided by Conroy Catering is exceptional. Everyone raved about it, especially the short rib entree and the cake. The only reason we did not rate them 5 stars for flexibility is that the owners of the mansion and Conroy Catering have pretty strict rules like no candles, fireworks, lanterns, outside food or drink and so on. Despite this, they were as flexible as they could be. They allowed us to bring in a small groom's cake and have a candy bar. We also had a photo booth. Glen Foerd and the space they offer just has unimaginable possibilities for an amazing wedding day for any couple. We cannot say enough about this place and our guests felt the same. They said they have never been to a wedding so wonderful and really we owe that to Glen Foerd's beautiful location and wonderful staff and Caterer. The only real disappointment was that we were offered a spot on TLC's Four Weddings but the owners would not allow it no matter what.

They said they have never been to a wedding so wonderful and really we owe that to Glen Foerd's beautiful location and wonderful staff and Caterer. The only real disappointment was that we were offered a spot on TLC's Four Weddings but the owners would not allow it no matter what.

Glen Foerd was a beautiful site for my wedding. The grounds were perfect for pictures in the spring. Our guests had a great time exploring the grounds and the museum. Conroy Catering was very professional and helpful throughout the process.

I got married at glen foerd on April 6 th. The day was perfect they did a great job of organizing everything. All of the things I brought to my rehearsal were correctly placed around the home. I had a bridal attendant and she was extremely helpful! \r\rI spoke to Maria all of the time while trying to decide on the venue, and after we placed a deposit. She was timely at getting back to us. And answered my many questions! There do seem to be a lot of rules for the venue. But I can tell you the day of everything from glen foerd was perfect! \r\rThis beautiful place is even more beautiful the day of your wedding! Thank you Maria and glen foerd!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Glen Foerd. We had attended a wedding at Glen Foerd in 2009 and instantly knew we wanted to get married here... its unlike no other venue in the area... beautiful grounds along the river, historic mansion, wine cellar, art gallery with tiffany glass ceiling and famous artwork, outdoor glass conservatory... We worked with Lori through the entire planning process and she was phenomenal, incredibly sweet and so knowledgeable about everything related to the caterer and the site. Towards the end she was wonderful at coordinating appointments to allow us to prepare for the day. She was the liason between the banquet manager, baker, and all necessary staff at Glen Foerd, and she always responded to my emails promptly and answered my questions with ease. Our wedding was the weekend after Hurricane Sandy and she was so reassuring through that last stressful week, and the mansion did not even lose power. The price is pretty much all inclusive (with the exception of the tax) and it is quite reasonable for the venue. Chris was our banquet manager and was exceptional during our meeting the day prior, very organized and very specific with instructions. Dee was our bridal attendant and she was so doting to us, made sure we always had an appetizer during cocktail hour or drink during the entire night, and ensured we sat down to eat our meal. Every detail of the entire day was perfect. Thank you!!

Jeannie was our event manager the day of the wedding and made the whole day just perfect with very smooth transitions and awesome timing. Alice was my bridal attendant for the day and was amazing! Alice made sure we had anything and everything we needed at all times from bustling my dress with safety pins after I ripped out the bustles on accident to making sure we didn't forget to eat and drink! We had 96 guests which was the perfect number for a unique and intimate wedding. Our ceremony took place in the living room and was just so beautiful and romantic and our reception was in the conservatory which has an awesome dance floor. We opted for the stations which gave our guests a huge selection of food to choose from and the food is delicious! I cannot say enough about Glen Foerd Mansion. It is also a beautiful location for pictures, we did our engagement and wedding pictures on their grounds.

My husband, parents, and I fell in love with Glen Foerd the first time we visited. I knew immediately I wanted a formal sit-down dinner in the dining room and dancing in the conservatory (where you have an amazing view of the Delaware River!). The staff (Eileen, Dee, & others!) made the event flow seamlessly through the whole house. Our guests enjoyed the art gallery upstairs, wine cellar downstairs, and the FOOD! This location and the Conroy staff made it truly a night I will never forget.

I fell in love with Glen Foerd the first time I toured it to try and pick a venue with my husband- how many historic mansions can acommodate a wedding of 150 people? The atrium (where we had our reception) is gorgeous with views of the Deleware River on three sides, there is an art gallery upstairs, a wine cellar downstairs, and the food was phenominal! I could go on but you have to see it yourself- I can't tell you how many compliments we got on our venue choice, definitely check it out!

Beautiful historic mansion overlooking the Delaware River. It has an old fashioned wine cellar (with optional wine tasting), and an art gallery with volunteers to explain to guests each art piece. Because the house is ornate, a bride can save money on decoration. Conroy Catering is the venue's exclusive caterer. Their sales people (esp. Lori Frankel) is exceptional. They are knowledgeable and patient. They responded to my inquiries right away, and often provided good suggestions to enhance my wedding experience. The Chef, Marty, was unbelievable. I highly recommend Glen Foerd to any bride looking for a \"unique\" venue.

We had a wonderful time at Glen Foerd. Beautiful beautiful beautiful. Our main complaint was with the \"team\" of wedding planners there. The care and service to the wedding party and guests is superior; we worried about nothing. Excellent service, food, and an amazingly beautiful setting -- just perfect!

I just recently had my wedding here in May 2010 and let me tell you they couldnt do enough! I had so many items that i wanted to have placed in certain spots, and i told them this in advanced and the second i stepped in the door everything was perfect! They went above and beyond what i asked for. The staff was awesome, quick with out request and very nice. I didnt have one issue the entire time. I would highly recommend this place, i had my wedding at Knowlton. The cost is worth it, the food was out of this world and so was every part of the planning. I picked a date almost 2 years in advance and they answered every single question i had whenever. \rgreat place check them out when you search for wedding receptions and ceremonies!
