When our daughter got engaged we visited four venues in the Ames/Des Moines area. Glen Oaks was the last one and we didn't need to look any further. Our wedding was this past weekend and we are so happy. I feel like we got the Golden Ticket when having our once in a lifetime party there. It's beautiful, Shannon their events planner was beyond amazing & hardworking, the food was fantastic and every staff person we encountered was so sweet and accommodating. We'd do it with them again in a heartbeat. Add Bella Flora to the combination and prepare to be amazed!

This is THE place to have your wedding. We had our ceremony and reception here and it was PERFECT. Shannon and her team go above and beyond for every detail. We received comments from guests that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Cannot say enough good things about GOCC!

Glen Oaks was a wonderful venue for our daughter and son-in-love reception. Beautiful setting for pictures and loved the outdoor area for dancing and cigar bar. The food was amazing and service simply spectacular - highly recommend.

We loved having our wedding at Glen Oaks! It made for a beautiful wedding weekend. We had our rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception there. We also got ready for the wedding there! Everything was executed beautifully, and we were so glad we chose this venue. The food and drinks were delicious, the staff was great, the facilities were pristine and the setting was beautiful. It was also so great to have the event coordinator help so much with planning and execution! One tip - the sound system didn’t work for our outdoor ceremony, so you couldn’t hear the pastor or singer. I think this was just a fluke, but it wouldn’t hurt to pay your DJ a couple hundred dollars more to also be there for the ceremony. That way you for sure have a professional running all of it!

The set up was gorgeous and the food was a major hit! So many guests told us it was the best steak and salmon they’ve had at a wedding. Our guests can’t stop raving about how beautiful the venue was and how much fun they had! 10/10 would recommend Glen Oaks Country Club for any event! The staff is truly amazing!

This is the venue for your perfect wedding. The venue and staff were amazing. From start to finish they were hepful and on top of every detail. We had the absolute BEST experience with Shannon and her team at Glen Oaks!!!! Talk about great communication! They were extremely accommodating, professionalism to the nines- I could go on and on. My husband is an member at the club and I am a newbie, so it can feel daunting to ask for what you want in such a high-roller venue. Not only Shannon, but her dream team (and Judy at the front desk!!!) absolutely made my dream wedding come true. It is so comforting to continue to frequent GOCC when you know you’ll be dealing with folks who routinely make every concern no sweat to adhere to and stress free. We had such a wonderful experience with Glen Oaks Country Club. The food was fantastic and the service was out of this world. They were easy to work with and extremely responsive to any request or question. I have nothing but incredible things to say about Glen Oaks as a wedding venue! I grew up in Glen Oaks and always knew this is where I would have my wedding reception. From the very start the events team was so helpful and very accommodating to little request we had. We couldn't make it to the original Grand Tasting event that they have each year because we were at a wedding. They set up a private tasting for us and our parents (which paid off, we are still getting compliments on our food from guests!)If I were to have another wedding I wouldn't change a thing about Glen Oaks being our venue!

The thoroughness, attention to detail, communication, staff and fabulous food can not be matched! It is a no-brainer to use Glen Oaks if you want a top-notch wedding with not a lot of worry!

We had originally booked with another country club in Des Moines and with the pandemic things were not being communicated well and we decided to go a different route. THANK GOD Glen Oaks had the availability on our wedding date as we had already booked all of our vendors!!! They did a fantastic job with our wedding especially with switching to Glen Oaks a couple months before our reception. The venue is beautiful, the food was excellent (all our guests were raving about the food especially the parmesan risotto :)), and the service from the staff was incredible! We also loved that we were able to great ready there! It made it so convenient for me and my bridesmaids and we had breakfast and lunch there. Honestly one of the best parts about Glen Oaks is working with their event coordinator, Emily. She made wedding planning a million times easier, especially during a pandemic. She was super responsive to everything, easy to get ahold of, organized, and extremely knowledgeable and gave great recommendations and ideas too. We met with Emily multiple times to go over our wedding and she was always on top of everything. She helped make my wedding day stress free! Overall, we were so happy with our wedding and had the best day ever!!! We could not have done this without Glen Oaks and Emily!

I cannot describe how perfect this venue was. If you are not a member of the club, do not be discouraged! Emily and her team we so easy to work with and took time to make sure that our wedding day was perfect. Emily went above and beyond to make sure that every detail was nailed! Glen Oaks was our dream venue! It is absolutely beautiful, both inside and out. We were able to use the croquet lawn for our ceremony and loved the views of the golf course behind us. Glen Oaks was the PERFECT venue for our amazing day!For starters, the venue is beautiful. The grounds are impeccable, the ball room is elegant, the small details are prestine. I can't say enough good things about the aesthetic of this place! Second, the service is incredible. They take such good care of you and your guests - it makes you feel so special! The food - turns out my groom and I had so much adrenaline running through us that we didn't even eat our dinner! However, we had tons of our guests rave about how delicious everything was! (Steak and Chicken option). I kept hearing for days after \"the food was so delicious!\"Lastly, Emily the event coordinator on staff is amazing!!! Did I mention we got married in the pandemic? This didn't make things easy for us, and especially her. She took everything in stride and with grace. In fact, she made us feel so supported and calm. Considering she was likely doing this for several other brides, I applaud her for keeping it all together! We couldn't have had our magical day without her! If we had to do the day over again - we 100% would absolutely choose this venue over and over again.

Glen Oaks went above and beyond all of our expectations. Emily was professional, well-coordinated and always on top of things. She kept in contact throughout the entire process, and kept us well-informed. She took our reception decorations ahead of time and set them up in the most beautiful way possible. It was gorgeous and took away all the stress of trying to get that done ourselves. We could not be happier with her. The food at the reception was incredible- the boursin mushrooms will not be forgotten. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were also able to get in the venue in the afternoon for bridal party pictures and first looks- they were very accommodating. We could not have found a better venue for our wedding.

Glen Oaks Country Club is hands down the best place to have your wedding! Emily, the event coordinator, is so easy to work with. I am not sure how many emails Emily and I sent back and forth… but she never got sick of our communication and was so responsive. She made me feel so confident going into our wedding day knowing that everything would be just as we wanted it to be. The staff at Glen Oaks was very friendly and all of the guests had raving reviews. Glen Oaks is beyond beautiful. If you are contemplating this venue, look no further. Our wedding was absolutely perfect.

The perfect venue!! Emily is unbelievable. She answered all of my questions and thought of things I would have totally forgot. I could not have done it without her! Glen Oaks was perfect for our wedding! One of the biggest things when looking for a venue was the ability to have both the ceremony and reception in the same location. Another big factor was having our dogs be able to be apart of the ceremony. Glen Oaks checked both of those boxes! The location, building, and grounds were beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop for pictures. The bridal suite was huge, with plenty of space for onsite hair and makeup. Emily, the Director of Events, started in her position just a few months before our wedding. It made us nervous switching to a new person from the one we had already been working with, but Emily made it seamless. She was super responsive to emails and phone calls, patient, and knowledgeable. We planned our wedding long-distance, but she made it effortless. During our rehearsal and wedding day, Emily took charge of every detail and I literally had nothing to stress/worry about. The entire staff of Glen Oaks provided superb service. They even helped us set up the decor that we had brought on our own. Glen Oaks requires that all food and beverage be purchased through the club, which we didn't mind, because it was one less vendor I had to find. Their food was amazing! We had lunch in our bridal suite of assorted wraps and fruit, which was so fresh. During cocktail hour we had passed hors d'oeuvres and my sister and husband couldn't stop eating the pork pot stickers. During dinner, we had four different food stations and our guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing the food was. I can't say enough good things about Glen Oaks and I would recommend this venue to anyone!

We had to move our cocktail hour and dancing inside last minute due to weather, but they took care of every little detail without any hassle to us. Our guests keep telling us how much they LOVED the food. We also had a s’mores bar through Glen Oaks, and it was also a huge hit. Emily was really great with coordinating with our other vendors, so we could trust that our vision was executed beautifully. If you want a gorgeous location with tons of options and a team of experienced people who will take care of practically everything, Glen Oaks is that place.

I could not recommend Glen Oaks enough. Their staff is AMAZING and the facility produces photos like you wouldn’t believe. Their staff experienced the tragic and heartbreaking loss l two days before our wedding, which I didn’t find out about until the day after the wedding, but they never once let it show. They are truly amazing and I would 110% recommend them to absolutely ANYONE!

We cannot say enough great things about Glen Oaks Country Club. From start to finish, the staff was so amazing in helping us make our wedding day absolutely perfect. We had several guests fly from far away, so we wanted a venue where we could have our ceremony and reception all in one location, and Glen Oaks was perfect for exactly that! The club is breathtaking, the food is delicious, but the amazing staff is really what makes this venue so very special. So many staff members rushed to my aid when I had red wine spilled all over the front of my wedding dress; I will never forget the kindness they showed me and how quickly they moved to avert one major crisis! (Thank you club soda!), but more importantly thank YOU Glen Oaks for making our wedding day nothing short of perfect!

A truly spectacular venue, especially for weddings. The staff at Glen Oaks Country Club is very professional and handled everything for us -- from set-up to take-down, they took care of it all, allowing us to truly enjoy the day with friends and family. The food and service were great. My only complaint would be that the seating staff made a few errors when setting up chairs/tables, etc., and I know of at least one guest who had to move because she did not have a seat.

Mallory was absolutely amazing to work with. She was quick to respond, answered all of our (many) questions, and made our wedding day run seamlessly. Absolutely stunning venue!! I could not have dreamed of a better wedding day! Mallory, the coordinator, is awesome. She handles so many little details and helps plan the day for you! She works with vendors and helps ensures all goes smoothly. The entire staff at Glen Oaks is fantastic. Each and every employee went out of their way to make it a perfect day for us. The food (we had cranberry chicken) was amazing! So many guests came up to compliment on how delicious it was (I heard a lot of \"that was the best chicken I've ever had\"). Our signature drinks were also a hit, the bartenders did a great job. While Glen Oaks is a little bit on the more expensive side, it was so worth it for us! You will have a stress free wedding day! Every detail will be handled for you on the day of and the bride and groom can just enjoy the day!! (PS: I would really look at their cost, as I found it is not nearly as expensive as many assume it is).

I grew up playing golf, tennis, and swimming at Glen Oaks as a girl and dreamed of one day having a fairytale wedding on its picturesque grounds. Jamie Nicolino, the GOCC Events Coordinator, made all of our dreams come true! She worked tirelessly with my mother, who served as the wedding planner, to make sure every last detail was perfection. She helped us plan a custom dinner menu, dream up a cocktail hour with signature drinks, design the lobby to welcome the guests, layout the ballroom and head table, organize the dance floor, direct traffic/herd the wedding party on the wedding day, and more -- but it's so much more than that. Jamie genuinely cares about the couples she works with and her passion is evident in everything she does. She is fabulously creative and has an amazing eye for detail. She is organized, diligent, and responsible -- exactly the person you want to quarterback your big day. I can't say enough about how wonderful she is and how wonderful GOCC is as an event venue. She went above and beyond for us and we couldn't be more thankful and happy!
