The location is ideal. The ceremony under the huge live oak trees was stunning. The cottages that are available for getting ready before the wedding were perfect. I loved being able to arrive in the morning and do everything right on site. The carriage house and courtyard are great spaces where your guests can mingle and never feel cramped. The staff at Goodwood were very helpful as well. You will not regret choosing this location for your wedding! Fast forward 15+ years later and that dream actually came true, with the venue just as beautiful as it was back them. We had our ceremony outside on the front lawn directly in front of the house and then had our cocktail hour and reception in the Carriage House and its courtyard. Everything was simply magical. The venue is conveniently located in the heart of town, so our guests didn't have to worry about traveling 20-30 minutes there and back on top of struggle to find a nearby hotel. Also, although the venue is stunning by itself with no decor (the all-wood Carriage House is to die for!), Goodwood is sort of a blank slate, which allows you to decorate it however you'd like to fit any theme! Kate Leland(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-10-2018 Goodwood is a picturesque property in central Tallahassee; it is the ideal location to get married at in Tallahassee if you are desiring the outdoor, natural setting for your wedding. The big oak trees and spanish moss are just a few highlights of the property; it is the epitome of North Florida Charm. JoAnn, the director of events at Goodwood, was super helpful and informative throughout the whole process.2 days prior to our wedding, category 4 Hurricane Michael hit the Florida panhandle. Despite much damage and destruction, JoAnn was calm and incredibly professional; she called me a few days before our wedding to check in on how we were doing and to let us know that she and her staff would do all they could to clean up the property post-hurricane. After the hurricane hit, the grounds' keepers at Goodwood and their team worked incredibly hard to clean up the tree limbs/branches and debris on the property to make our wedding as beautiful as possible. The Goodwood staff did not let the hurricane get in their way in the least- they were extremely professional and went above and beyond! Thank you so much for helping make our wedding so incredibly stunning!! In spite of Hurricane Michael, the day was absolute perfection! Reviewed on 23-10-2018

I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It is absolutely gorgeous! We chose the ceremony site that's in the middle of the lawn in front of the main house. The backdrop was stunning and our photos are incredible! The Carriage House is already so beautiful, that you didn't have to go overboard with the decor. We loved that the two bars are outside and that there's a side courtyard area. It was the perfect space for all of our 150 guests. We chose Goodwood because it is beautiful, we could have an outside ceremony and indoor reception, and the price for the package was very reasonable considering all of the things it included (tables, chairs, two cottages for getting ready, ceremony site, and the reception site. You get the whole grounds for day of!) JoAnn Bixler was extremely helpful with all of the questions we had and she helped make our day perfect. It's ideal for a picture-perfect Southern wedding and the property is large enough to offer versatility for weddings, whether small or large.\r\rWe used Fanny's for the rehearsal dinner, the lawn in front of the house for the ceremony, Laundry Cottage for getting ready and Carriage House for the reception. The patio attached to the Carriage House had a nice indoor/outdoor flow for our reception. We set up patio furniture and lawn games to entire our guests outdoors and it worked perfectly.\r\rThe setting is so beautiful, minimal decorations are needed.\r\rOverall, it's the perfect setting for a more casual, Southern-inspired wedding. We had 200 guests, many from out of town, so having the ceremony and reception in one location was key for us. My husband and I know how beautiful Goodwood is, but our guests were truly blown away by it. It was the perfect place for our October wedding. Leigh, the events coordinator, was a dream to work with throughout the whole process. The grounds are beautiful and offered many places to choose from for the ceremony site. We had use of the Carriage House and Laundry Cottage all day for our wedding party to get ready and hang out in. The Carriage House is just beautiful, and its design was perfect for our reception. I also really appreciated that tables and chairs were included in our rental agreement, and the Goodwood staff set them up for us ahead of time. Reviewed on 22-06-2011
