Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is a luxurious wedding venue located in Lake Geneva, WI. This serene destination is situated on 1,300 acres of gorgeous woodlands. The rolling hills of Wisconsin’s landscape create a beautiful background for any event. Here, couples and their guests will be able to enjoy golf greens and seasonal delights. This countryside retreat is strategically located approximately 90 minutes from Chicago. This rural getaway is within a convenient distance of urban amenities, yet preserves a quiet oasis where couples can celebrate their nuptials. The sprawling property represents itself as a homey escape, offering all the comforts that people are accustomed to. From dining solutions to recreational activities, this venue can be an ideal retreat for all. Weddings large and small have a place at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. Guests that may be in attendance at either the indoor or outdoor event locations varies widely. Whatever a couple desires, rustic to modern, they will be able to find a space that suits their needs. The Chalet boasts large windows that frame scenic views of the landscape around ski hill. There is an accessible outdoor space here as well. The Pavilion is an outdoor location with expansive views of the golf course. The Forum is the largest space, allowing wedding guests to number in the thousands. The Evergreen Ballroom is a stylish celebration space that is flooded with natural light. The 18th hole, a private lake, and a fountain are within its line-of-sight. The Grand Ballroom has an opulent design, ideal for those that are looking for an elegant atmosphere. The Maple Lawn Ballroom presents a more rustic appeal and accommodates up to 250 individuals at a reception. Lastly, the Linwood Ballroom is a more intimate occasional space. This room steps off onto a patio, allowing guests to enjoy stunning views of the resort. This resort allows outdoor ceremonies as well as cozy rehearsal dinners. There are two lawns where ceremonies may take place, and rehearsal dinners can be accommodated for up to 40 people. The event staff here is able to set up a custom room design. Couples will be provided with a group coordinator so that they can bring their wedding vision to life.

We had a fantastic experience having our wedding at The Grand Geneva this NYE! My now-husband and I greatly appreciated our coordinator Courtney's guidance through everything. Starting with meeting her at our tasting and keeping in regular contact throughout planning, we couldn't have done it without her. Her positivity and can-do attitude kept us grounded and excited. Everything turned out beautiful for our ceremony and reception in the Evergreen ballroom and we wouldn't change a thing! The day before/of was a bit stressful and some vendors had trouble finding where to go, including being misled to the proper location or myself being locked out of the storage room, but those were minor issues. Overall we highly recommend the Grand Geneva!

If I could rate my venue Coordinator specifically, I would give her a 2. Everything else about the venue was amazing. The other staff I interacted with were always very helpful and friendly. The resort looks amazing, we had a hard time choosing where we wanted to take our photos because there were so many good options! I would 100% have my wedding here again, but I would definitely request a different coordinator. Mine was very hard to reach - we had to send multiple messages in a row before receiving a response. Also, she did not send us the breakdown of our largest bill until AFTER it was due, not to mention I had been asking for the EOB for months! Working with her was very stressful, in the weeks leading up to the wedding. In the end it all came together though, just had to micromanage her a lot.

Having our wedding at Grand Geneva was a dream come true. Our coordinator Courtney worked with us every step of the way and made sure all our requests were taken care of. I had no worries at all on my wedding day. I can't say it enough how incredible it was! Our guests gave nonstop compliments on how it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to.

Our wedding was absolutely stunning! After having 3 coordinators, our second coordinator, Michele, was so helpful at helping us tie in the details and making sure we covered everything. Michele was instrumental in making sure our special day was just the way we wanted. Then, our final coordinator, Alyssa, really helped bring our vision to life. The hotel staff was very friendly to us and all of our guests. The property is absolutely gorgeous and so well maintained that our guests were in awe. Even our guests from Germany promised to come back to the Grand one day. This resort and spa had everything we needed. From golf to pool side service to spa treatments, it was everything our guests were looking for in a weekend getaway. The feel at the grand is luxurious but not stuffy which is what we wanted in a venue. The entire resort felt like us which was the most important. While everything was wonderful, a few things didn’t go as planned. Specifically, the welcome bags. The hotel charges $3 per bag to hand to guests, or free if left at the hotel concierge desk. We thought $3 per bag was outrageous, especially since we had 70+ room reservations so we chose the free option. However, at the end of Friday night, we saw other hotel bar patrons (not involved in the wedding) take our welcome bag for themselves. While we expected some of that, the same patrons proceed to hand the remaining bags (5) to the bar tendering staff. The bar tending staff did not refuse, but accepted the bags. I thought that was absolutely unacceptable. Then on Saturday when majority of our guests were checking in, there were no bags left. When we talked to Alyssa about the problem, there was nothing she could do. Even mentioned that they charge $3 per bag just because other hotels do. While in the scheme of things, the welcome bags are small, it was money spent that did not get into the right hands. My final word of caution would be payment. Please read your BEOs (banquet event orders) carefully. This is where they detail pricing. They were NEVER correct. We had to go back and forth multiple times. We ended up saving over $3,000 just by reviewing and pointing out their errors. This is probably a word of caution with all wedding planning but I only had issues with it here. All in all, it was a great wedding venue. The wedding day was amazing and our guests loved the resort. A true win-win!

The absolute best venue! The Grand Geneva assigns you an event manager to help you organize your whole wedding! Haley, our event manager was so amazing! All of our guests loved the resort, the spa and the golf. Would recommend this venue to anyone!

The Grand Geneva was an amazing venue for our December wedding. We had a lot of out of town guests and the resort was a perfect getaway with all the amenities they could ask for. The hotel and spa staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The Grand Geneva Resort was very helpful in the planning process and helped guide us through every detail. From touring the facility, food tasting, guest accommodations, event planning, rehearsal dinner to the reception the staff was top notch. We owe our most thanks though to our wedding coordinator Emma who was amazing during the whole process. Emma was a true professional and made us very happy and excited leading up to our wedding night. Emma did a great job communicating with us and always made herself available even on weekends and evenings. Leading up to the wedding Emma took all of the stress out of the planning process and coordinated flawlessly with our outside vendors, the church and even our guests. The day of the event, Emma had every single detail taken care of and our night turned out better than we could have ever imagined. Thank you to the Grand Geneva but most importantly, thank you to Emma. If you get Emma as your coordinator, we promise you will have a wedding to remember. Brooks and Lauren!!!!

We spent a whole weekend celebrating our wedding and were accommodated and treated like the king and queen of the place by each staff we encountered. Our event manager Haley went over the top for us throughout the process and was quick to reply and answer our questions. The bar staff and team went above and beyond, opening their bar 3 hours early for our group of individuals in the lobby without a single complaint. We hosted our reception in the Grand Ballroom and the Grand Geneva team knocked it out of the park. The space was beautiful, clean, and set up exactly how I envisioned.

The Grand Geneva Ski Chalet proved to be the absolute perfect venue for our wedding day! We were blown away with how beautiful and inviting the space was for our guests and the food was wonderful. We unfortunately had a very negative experience throughout the entire planning process due to poor communication and continuous incorrect information (e.g. incorrect menus, quotes, room booking links, etc.) being sent to us with frequent inability to reach our site coordinator for clarification. We hired our own wedding planner and coordinator to assist with the process, but this seemed to only worsen the miscommunication or lack thereof. With great effort, we were able to escalate our concerns and did obtain the correct information in most cases once our wedding was less than a month away. The actual wedding weekend was a tremendous success (minus a few unfortunate encounters with the venue bartenders), but with the amount of money we were paying we expected a significantly higher level of service. We did not expect planning a wedding at such an established resort would be such a negative and difficult process from beginning to end.

The Grand Geneva Resort is one of the best places to host a wedding!The entire process was super easy to understand and honestly, everything from the venue tour, tasting, to the Big Day went smoothly. Courtney was our event manager and she was always only an email away and made the planning process easy! The rest of the event staff on the big day were very professional and accommodating. Everyone knew where to be and where to go and what direction to point me in. Every time my glass was empty, Courtney or another staff member was right there asking if I wanted a refill. Everything was HANDLED. Which is so important, the only stress I felt on the wedding day was pre-ceremony jitters. We had our wedding at the Chalet, which was really dressed up to be a beautiful and unique candle/lantern-lit venue. Post-wedding, Courtney delivered our late night snack leftovers and Anniversary Cake directly to our room with a hand-written well-wishes card!My only complaint is that the rooms my guests booked through the room block were all spread-out, however I also didn't think to ask for them to be in the same building pre-wedding. Overall, we loved our wedding and wouldn't change a thing. The Grand Geneva Resort is now one of our favorite places to visit. Thank you Courtney and the rest of the GG team!!!Teresa & Tom

Nothing but the best. The venue provides almost anything you could need, and anything they don’t provide they will help you find with a network of exceptional vendors. My husband and I were so incredibly grateful for how the day came together - and consistently get feedback that it was the most beautiful venue, most excellent food and service… so on. That is all thanks to the amazing service provided at Grand Geneva. Specifically, our Wedding Coordinator Haley was incredible. Haley's diligence and attention to detail paved the way for a perfect wedding day for my husband and I. Haley did an excellent job staying communicative with us throughout the planning process and consistently made herself available to our needs and all of our questions leading up to the big day. On that day, she served as our day-of coordinator, making herself available to the mothers of bride/groom for all questions and last minute requests, and keeping in touch with all vendors to make sure they knew where to be and when - so we didn’t have to. Additionally, she ensured that we remained on schedule per our outlined agenda that she helped us strategize and create. Overall, her presence was a constant source of comfort to us on an otherwise naturally stressful event. The venue was beautiful and well organized and her service to us leading up to the wedding and during our special day was exceptional. Thank you Haley for everything that you did for us!

After touring several locations before GG, none really stood out as a location I could trust our day with. One random day I decided to call Grand Geneva as their location was perfect for our families coming from Chicago and Milwaukee, but wasn’t sure it would be in our budget. Heather answered and right from the beginning of our conversation she made me feel secure that GG would ensure we had a great experience! And that they did! We had a tour with KJ and she was wonderful and showed us several areas we could have the ceremony and reception. What a beautiful property! Once we agreed on contract terms, we were then passed along to Courtney M. Courtney was newer to the property but not new to the industry! She was a delight to work with and became a trusted advisor during our process since neither myself or husband have been married before and didn’t have a ton of help since we had a smaller wedding. They do treat you like royalty and even though we had a smaller and more quaint wedding we never felt like we were not their number one priority. Please note this property is HUGE, I was disappointed how far apart our wedding room block was from eachother, everyone was in a different location/wing. And for that, our suite became the gathering place and it was hard for my husband and I to have alone time. My dad doesn’t walk well, and we asked a random employee in the hallway if they had a wheel chair for us to use and within 10 minutes one was delivered to our room! That was a life saver. Thank you to all of Grand Geneva team, from Sales to Banquet Staff to the kitchen staff who made such delicious food! A lot of our guests said it’s the best wedding food they’ve ever had. I could go on and on…Highly recommend this venue and team.

My dad doesn’t walk well, and we asked a random employee in the hallway if they had a wheel chair for us to use and within 10 minutes one was delivered to our room! That was a life saver. Thank you to all of Grand Geneva team, from Sales to Banquet Staff to the kitchen staff who made such delicious food! A lot of our guests said it’s the best wedding food they’ve ever had. I could go on and on…Highly recommend this venue and team.

We had our ceremony and our reception held at the Chalet. It was wonderful! The food and drinks were great. Kristi and her team were excellent assisting with things in the morning that I needed. Kristi was very good at communicating too. Our guests loved the food. I really don’t have any complaints except that at the end of our reception we waited over an hour for the trolley to get us. That’s my only real complaint about my wedding. Other than that everything was wonderful and I highly recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about Grand Geneva as our wedding venue! Justin was our wedding coordinator and he was absolutely PHENOMENAL. He was so incredibly communicative before the wedding and answered the many questions that we had. He also assisted with our rehearsal and made sure everyone knew what to do. On the day of the wedding, Justin ensured that everything was perfect and the way we wanted it. I didn’t have to worry about anything other than getting myself ready! He even helped me hide from guests before the ceremony and brought me food and water while I was waiting! At the reception, he brought my husband and I a plate of appetizers and got us our drinks while we were trying to figure out some things with the DJ. He checked in with us frequently throughout the night to make sure everything was just how we wanted it. He definitely went above and beyond for us. Additionally, the food was amazing, all the staff were very kind and helpful, and our accommodations were great. It’s obvious that GG has a lot of experience with weddings because everything about our wedding was absolutely perfect. If something went wrong, Justin definitely made sure that we did not know it, because I can’t think of one thing that didn’t go according to plan. We could not have dreamed of a more perfect venue or wedding day. I cannot recommend Grand Geneva and Justin enough!

I don’t think I could’ve asked for a more professional and accommodating event venue to work with for my wedding. From the very beginning, we experienced amazing customer service. We were touring venues via FaceTime as we live out of state, and they were so accommodating and helpful during the call. We were able to have our tasting as soon as covid restrictions were lifted, and they wine and dined us so we were able to check out the wedding menu in person. The food was so good- it’s five star!!! Once we postponed our wedding in Summer of 2020, we were able to switch our dates to August 2021 without any extra deposit or cancellation fees- they were so understanding throughout the entire process.I worked with Kristi, who answered all of my questions and didn’t hesitate to help me in any way during my planning process… all of my questions and concerns were addressed quickly and she took such great care of us! She’s the best, and we just couldn’t have asked for a better planner to assist us on the most important day of our lives.The actual wedding day was beautiful- they just really know how to make the Bride and Groom feel special and accommodated every request that we had with a smile. We had many compliments on how beautiful the setup, the ceremony (Greenview) and the reception (the Chalet) were and how delicious the food was. We are foodies, and to hear our guests compliment the food and say it was some of the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding (if not the best) made us so happy to hear. Also, we had a lot of people attend from out of town, and they loved staying at the Grand Geneva. Lots of activities and dining options for all ages.From beginning to end, Kristi and her staff went above and beyond, and we are so grateful to them and the Grand Geneva for hosting our wedding. Highly recommend this venue for your wedding- you won’t regret it!!

We are so happy with the wedding we just had at Grand Geneva. Our coordinator, Kristi Johnson was outstanding from start to finish. She helped us with hundreds of changes, details and all arrangements. As mother of the Bride, planning a rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception, all outdoor, during a pandemic is quite challenging. Kristi handled everything professionally and in a timely manner. We had 5 grandparents who needed to be transported at times and Kristi was right there with a golf cart, so caring and patient. We held our wedding ceremony at the Pavillion lawn, overlooking the golf course in the midst of huge trees. Stunning location. Our reception was in the Pavillion, since we needed everything outdoors. We had plenty of room for 140 guest, a large dance floor and a large band. Grand Geneva resort overall is a lovely resort. There's plenty to do, a few venues to stay in, great health club and spa, and while we didn't have time to golf, we'll be back to enjoy the beautiful golf courses. We were quite pleased with the quality of the food and the platinum bar package we selected. We also had a wedding planner, Becky Dryer from Something Blue Lake Geneva, which will be another glowing review. Couldn't have had a successful wedding weekend without Kristi and Becky supporting us. Thank you Grand Geneva!

We had our wedding at the Grand Geneva last weekend and it was above our expectations! We were gifted Kristi Johnson as our event coordinator for the last few months of our planning and we could not be more grateful for all her help! Every time we would talk to her leading up to the wedding she made us feel hopeful that our wedding would still go as pictured given the pandemic. Every change, no matter how last minute, was met with no hesitation on her end. On the day of, she was so calming and gave her full attention to myself and my wedding party and family. Kristi drove us around the property for pictures and tended to our bridal party as they had missed the cocktail hour and stuck in the van for parts of the pictures. On top of that, I had a few family members that could not come last minute and I asked if we could take some wedding cake home for them and it was in our bridal suite that night. Seriously so accommodating!! The wait staff at the Chalet was also so excellent, kind, and attentive. I did not have to worry about a thing the whole night! I couldn’t picture a better wedding thanks to Kristi and the staff at the Chalet! I was worried our wedding wouldn’t be as pictured due to the pandemic, but Kristi and staff made sure that wasn’t the case and made it even better than the wedding I pictured! We will definitely be back to the Grand Geneva for future celebrations!

To say our wedding was perfect would be an understatement and that is truly in thanks to our coordinators and the staff at Grand Geneva. The experience at Grand Geneva was absolutely incredible from our arrival to departure and throughout the entire planning process. Heather initially showed us the venue where we fell in love with the ski chalet then worked with us to secure the most beautiful ceremony location. We originally had Rhonda as our wedding coordinator and she was absolutely incredible, very timely in response. Very knowledgeable of the resort and very supportive throughout the process. We unfortunately had to postpone our wedding as a result of Covid 19 and truly I feel so blessed with how seamless the process was, we were assigned a new coordinator due to the current climate with some event staff furloughed. Kristi was our main point of contact and could not have been more attentive, supportive, positive, timely in her responses, and accommodating. Kristi went out of her way to make every single detail perfect, she listened, took diligent notes, provided superior customer service, and continuously just left us feeling so grateful that we had such a positive experience despite the challenging circumstances with Covid 19. Kristi made planning and replanting a wedding enjoyable and so pleasant, if I had a question she had an answer and literally made our dreams happen and our reality. Kristi notices every detail and does everything possible to make your day as perfect as possible. Not only did Kristi help make the planning perfect, but she was also so supportive day of and helped transport me and my big dress to the perfect first look destination and ensured we had water and stayed cool. Kristi and Jamie also ran our rehearsal and it was flawless. If I could give them 10 stars I would, I do not have enough positive things to say about our experience. My husband and I give our highest recommendation to Grand Geneva Resort & Spa as a wedding venue. With a June 2020 wedding, the odds were seemingly against us in every way. However, because of Grand Geneva, we miraculously had our dream wedding.When planning a wedding in uncertain times, communication is key. Grand Geneva provided us with clear and transparent communication throughout the entire planning process. We were fortunate to work with many talented people, including Heather, Alexandra, and Todd, throughout the planning process. Kristi Johnson, our event manager, was our point person for the final 6 weeks prior to the Big Day. Kristi possesses a rare combination of creativity, flexibility, and dedication. Her responses to our calls, texts, and many emails were always prompt, specific, & thorough. She understood our vision, & she worked to make it happen. She coordinated the rental of our ceiling drapes and Chiavari chairs, & she was the person who coordinated all requests that we had concerning food and beverages.Grand Geneva's implementation of their \"CleanCare Pledge\" ensured that the safety of our guests (as well as the people who worked at our wedding) was a top priority. Hand sanitizing stations were plentiful, & all of the staff wore masks and gloves. Grand Geneva opened up the room opposite the Evergreen Ballroom so that our guests could practice social distancing in the Galewood ballroom during the cocktail hour.The week before the wedding, Grand Geneva’s staff worked behind the scenes to transform the Evergreen Ballroom. Grand Geneva’s staff even strung twinkle lights & hung escort cards on an arch that we provided. From placing photographs throughout the foyer to ensuring the correct distribution of guest favors and coloring books for children, Grand Geneva’s staff made it easy for my groom and me to simply walk in and enjoy our wedding day.My husband & I come from big Italian families, so we had very high expectations for the food & drink. Chef Nelly, Grand Geneva’s Executive Chef, met & exceeded those expectations with our wedding reception dinner. The tasting was delicious, so we were hoping that the food would be as good on a large scale. We were delighted to find that the food was even better on the wedding day. The outcome was spectacular. Jamie, the person in charge of the beverages, ensured that we were able to offer our guests our choice of liquor and wine. We chose the Super Premium bar package, and we are glad that we did. Our guests are still raving about the food and drinks at our wedding. Chef Nelly even made meals for our guests with special dietary preferences or needs, including a vegan gluten-free meal, gluten-free meal, & vegetarian meals.Our wedding cake, made by Allie, was beautiful. Our guests had the choice of either chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and filling or vanilla cake with bavarian cream filling and chocolate ganache frosting. Additionally, Miranda made the groom’s cake—a giant armadillo cake that honored my groom's Texas background.The Captain of our event, Juan, ensured that our reception was flawless. We had the best wedding and experience at the Grand Geneva! We got married in July 2020 - in the midst of the pandemic. The Grand Geneva was more than accommodating and incredibly flexible. They worked with us through every change in plans and even helped us come up with creative ways to allow our wedding to be as \"normal\" as possible. The Grand Geneva as a whole was extremely professional and made us feel very safe with everything considered. They followed CDC guidelines very closely, even when the county they are located in didn't require it. This made us and our guests feel safe! When we started planning our wedding in summer 2019, we worked with Rhonda as our coordinator. She was AMAZING! She is incredibly organized, and we fully trusted her to get us down the aisle. She answered every question with grace and patience, and always kept us on a good timeline. Couldn't recommend her more! When the pandemic hit in March, the Grand Geneva had to furlough some of its employees, including event staff when their events dwindled. Kristi, the events manager, became our new coordinator and she was also incredible! She took us to the finish line, and was extremely patient and organized. We changed our guest count SO many times right up until a few days before the wedding and she was always on top of everything. We were in great hands of both Kristi and Rhonda, and couldn't be happier with the staff that helped us pull off our pandemic wedding!

Kristi and Jamie set up the centerpieces and other wedding decoration including the ceremony. They also offered to pick up the flowers for us and stayed with us the whole time to ensure we had everything we needed. Their knowledge and hospitality experience made us felt like we were at home and kept everything under control And as planned. Kristi also drove us around the golf course to take pictures which was something she didn’t have to do. Given the pandemic in the horizon, Grand Geneva accommodated everything we asked for at a reasonable price and never said no to any of our requests. If there was something not available, Kristi always had a better alternative or solution which made our wedding experience more enjoyable! We recommend using Grand Geneva as their wedding venue to any couples out there who are thinking about planning a wedding. Everyone in the resort starting from Valet, Servers and other staff members they all do their best to make the customers happy. Kristi and Jamie were always available and answered all the questions we had promptly. Additionally, the food was amazing. All our guests were satisfied with the food. One of our guests is a restaurant manager in one of the best restaurants in Milwaukee area and he was impressed with the food so I will leave it at that. With that being said, If you want less head ache while dealing with other wedding stuff Grand Geneva is the right place for you. Kristi and Jaime will have your back at all times and ensure you get the best wedding experience!!

My husband and I were married at Grand Geneva in June 2020, prime quarantine time. We were married in the pavilion and had our reception in the ski chalet. COVID-19 definitely threw us some curve balls, but Grand Geneva was more than accommodating. We started our planning process with Rhonda as our coordinator, but were then given Kristi with coronavirus closures. Both coordinators were absolutely fabulous, and exceeded all expecations. We felt supported through each step of the planning process, and communication was fantastic. I am a type A personality, so I had a plethora of questions on the regular. Grand Geneva made me feel excited and prepared for the big day. Each question, request, and concern was addresses quickly and thoroughly; we could not have asked for a better experience, even when moving forward through a global pandemic. The food, venue grounds, decor, and staff were more than we could have asked for. With how wonderful our experience was,I can only imagine the experience at Grand Geneva outside of a pandemic. Highly recommend!

Grand Geneva was first on our list. It was a must-see because of the ski chalet, as we are snowboarders, but we also love the holidays and are pretty festive people. Once we saw the Evergreen Ballroom and all the decorations around it, we knew this was the place for us. Grand Geneva's execution of Christmas decorations never disappoints. We knew Grand Geneva would strike a good chord for our guests with its ambiance alone. The grounds of Grand Geneva are stunning even without decor, filled with natural scenery, so, any season would fit well here and offers a plethora of photo opportunities. We were lucky enough to have a perfect amount of snowfall the night before, which made outdoor photos spectacular, and I wouldn't be surprised if Grand made it happen ;)Everything about the event itself was absolutely perfect. We are so happy we chose Grand Geneva to celebrate our wedding day. The Evergreen Ballroom was a dream party room. I am very in-tune with details and it exceeded my expectations. It's somewhat uneasy to go in cold without seeing the end result way ahead of time, but it was perfect. The ambiance was important to us and it was EXACTLY what we had hoped for.We mainly worked with Rhonda and we highly recommend her. We feel very lucky to have had her as our wedding coordinator. She has great attention to detail, fine communication skills, a good listener, very kind with a great attitude and made it a priority to bring our vision to life. You feel like she's on your side. The hotel rooms for guests were very nice. The suites for us and our families were oh-so-fancy and very clean/updated. The food and beverages were very good; we keep getting great feedback from guests. The wait staff was very smiley and friendly. Everything during our event was timely and efficient. Special requests, such as, not clearing the plates in the room was executed well and did not affect service. We worked with the pastry chef, Samantha, on a special wedding cake design, which she shared our enthusiasm for, and it turned out so great that we left it in the room for guests to look at and take pictures! The only real downfall was hair and makeup trials at the spa. It was not executed with high standards, which made us fearful of the actual event day, so we had to look elsewhere and hire our own stylist team. (We hired girls from Rockwell Salon in Elkhorn, WI and they were wonderful). It was very fun to prep hair and makeup and get dressed in the Bridal Suite. It had plenty of room; a full bathroom and wet bar helped meet all of our needs. The front desk staff needs some sprucing up. They lack personality and the willingness to go above and beyond for guests, but it did not make any true negative effects to the wedding day. Some mishaps happened with reservations, but were resolved eventually.

My husband and I had a fantastic experience getting married at The Grand Geneva. We were married in the Chalet and it was absolutely beautiful! We originally had a different event manager who changed venues midway through our planning, but we had the pleasure of getting Rhonda who was beyond words! Her communication was amazing and she was always very helpful and prompt. On the day of, the entire staff from the bartenders to the waitstaff to the trolley drivers... everyone made our wedding amazing for not just us, but our guests. I highly recommend the Chalet as well as Rhonda for your special day. Everything was completely seamless and I truly believe that even the hotel staff wanted our day to be beyond incredible. A lot of our guest were from out of town so the link for guests to book online with your room block was easy and the trolley services to the Chalet made it simple for our guests to get to and from the resort. I truly can't say enough about Rhonda and the Grand Geneva staff!

We originally had a different event manager who changed venues midway through our planning, but we had the pleasure of getting Rhonda who was beyond words! Her communication was amazing and she was always very helpful and prompt. On the day of, the entire staff from the bartenders to the waitstaff to the trolley drivers... everyone made our wedding amazing for not just us, but our guests. I highly recommend the Chalet as well as Rhonda for your special day. Everything was completely seamless and I truly believe that even the hotel staff wanted our day to be beyond incredible. A lot of our guest were from out of town so the link for guests to book online with your room block was easy and the trolley services to the Chalet made it simple for our guests to get to and from the resort. I truly can't say enough about Rhonda and the Grand Geneva staff!

It all started with our event manager, Kate. She was the opposite of helpful, incredibly unprofessional, and at times, just plain rude. At one point, she sent an email that she ended up ‘recalling,’ but not before I read it. Let me tell you, it was a good thing my mother didn’t get the chance to read it. Kate ended up leaving Grand Geneva the month before our wedding and we got a new event manager, Amanda (who was lovely). The arch that we had reserved for our ceremony suddenly became imaginary (GG had no record of it) the month before our wedding, leaving us scrambling to find a new one.We are from out-of-state and so were 99% of our guests. We requested early checkin for our block of rooms since our ceremony was at 5p and normal checkin is at 4p. We received no guarantees and a lot of push-back. At one point, Kate told us that we would either have to tell guests to wear their formal attire in the car or that we could use the lockers in the spa (but our items needed to be out by 7p which was in the middle of our reception).We had issues while checking in and out regarding our bill. The front desk staff attempted to bill us for our complementary room. They also attempted to double charge my mother for her 3 nights.We made hospitality bags for our guests and were lead to believe that they would be kept behind the front desk, and handed out to guests in our block upon check-in (this cost us $50). Thursday night, we were at the bar and noticed a random guest with one of our bags. We brought the issue up to the bar manager and it turns out that the bags were left on a countertop, around the corner from the front desk. They were out in the open, for anyone to take. We brought the issue up to Amanda and she asked if we would like the remainder of the bags brought to guests’ rooms. We agreed, however, no one actually received any of those bags.The day of our wedding, it rained all day. We were set to have the ceremony outside on the Greenview and inside the Chalet as a back-up. We made the call around 11am if we were going to have it inside or out. When guests started arriving and asking the front desk where the ceremony would be held, everyone was told something different. Some staff said it was still outside (in the rain??) and some said it would be in the ballroom. This miscommunication lead to approximately 10% of our guests to miss our ceremony. This is unforgivable.In regards to the Chalet itself, we loved it. However, there were multiple leaks in the roof. One leak landed right next to a guest in a wheelchair who was intentionally seated next to the lift. The other problem with the Chalet is that your food will be luke warm, at best (we chose family style for food). My aunt, uncle, cousin/bridesmaid, and her husband, stayed in a large villa. Villas can cost $600+/night and they stayed for 3 nights. In the middle of the night, the roof began to leak on my cousin and her husband while they slept in their bed. They had to leave their bed and sleep on the couch. They were offered two free breakfasts as compensation. TWO. FREE. BREAKFASTS.We have been in contact with Jim K, Director of Events. We were refunded the $50 for the bags and my aunt was refunded 1 night of her villa. My family and I feel that this is not enough compensation for the issues we had. Getting married is stressful, but it’s supposed to be beautiful and happy. However, this entire experience was something I’d never wish on anyone.

We choose the Grand Geneva to host our wedding near the end of August. We had both the ceremony and the after-ceremony luncheon on the property. They have a couple of beautiful locations for outdoor ceremonies that overlook a large lake and the golf course. It was the ceremony site that sold us on the property.The event staff was great to work with and very responsive. Amanda, our event coordinator, could not have worked harder for us and was such a pleasure to work with! She and the rest of the staff worked hard on every detail and really made our day special. Our luncheon was delicious and the location was very comfortable and beautiful.The overnight accommodations were also very nice.

Our wedding was 10 days ago and WOW, Grand Geneva did such a fantastic job. We had our ceremony on the Fairview Lawn and the reception at the Mountain Top Chalet. Everything was picture perfect and the event itself including everything from timing and setup to food and drink was flawless. Kate Hartz, our Events Manager, was fantastic from start to finish while also keeping myself and others helping me plan in line. Our wait staff and especially our Captain Jamie, were just awesome. If I could do the day again, I wouldn't change a thing and I would 110% choose Grand Geneva again.

We had our ceremony underneath the pavilion overlooking the golf course which was stunning and absolutely perfect. The trolley then took us to the \"Chalet\" lodge at the base of the snowboard/ski hill, which is very scenic! Everyone who attending thought it was one of the best organized and perfect wedding venues. Our wedding planner was Kate Hartz who was so helpful and amazing at helping us wedding plan! Everyone thought it was amazing to get a mini vacation in. The pool was amazing and so was the poolside bar and the views overlooking the golf course. The rooms were spotless and so nice and an at home feel than a typical hotel. This is now one of my favorite resorts just because how awesome and clean and great the service was. I plan on going up at least once a year for now on... I just loved it... I want to be back and the golf course was super super awesome.I highly reccomend the Grand Geneva for someone to have there wedding in the future. My wife and I had the greatest time ever!

I can NOT say enough amazing things about this resort!!! From the gorgeous rooms to the amazing staff, everything made our wedding a dream come true. Rhonda Baior was our wedding coordinator and I love love love her !! We moved to Arizona before we got engaged and came back for the ceremony and reception. Rhonda made everything beyond easy and helped keep me sane and calm. She called and kept up with our emails despite the time difference. She made me feel more like family. I honestly don't think our day would have been the same without her. She handled the hiccups and calmed me down. She will forever have a spot in our hearts!!! I would hands down reccomend this venue to everyone!! The food, service, resort and people were AMAZING!!!!

My wedding reception at the Grand Geneva was absolutely perfect. It was like a dream come true. Working with Rhonda was wonderful. My husband and I got married at the Grand Geneva September 2013!! This year will Be our 5 year anniversary and we are so excited to be going back to the Grand Geneva to celebrate! Looking back I am still so amazed at how perfect our wedding really was! Kate Hartz did an amazing job from start to finish!! Everything I envisioned she made happen down to my cupcake station! The venue is absolutely gorgeous, the food was delicious and the entire staff was beyond professional. Every single guest at my wedding complimented the resort, while it wasn’t far from home it made everyone feel like they were on vacation! We are so excited to be coming back to the Grand Geneva and remember what was the most perfect wedding!!!

I had my wedding ceremony and reception at grand Geneva at the mountain top in the chalet room and it was absolutely beautiful. The event manager, Kate, was amazing and was so helpful at all times of the day. The food was delicious and the planning process was seamless. The chalet room has a gorgeous rustic feel and the flow in the room with the out door patio was perfect for guests to move around throughout the night. I could not have asked for a better wedding!

The Grand Geneva truly was my dream venue in every aspect. When searching for venues, I knew I had loved attending weddings at hotels because it was incredibly easy as a guest and extended the celebration because everyone was in the same place. I also knew I wanted to find a space that was charming, non-traditional, warm, and had character. When I stepped into the Chalet, just one of the many venues the Grand Geneva offers, I felt like all my dreams were coming true. I wanted character, and this space has it in spades. Every aspect of planning the wedding there was easy and enjoyable, from our initial tours with Alex who was such a wonderful help in the early stages, to booking the venue and working with Kate who answered every single question along the way and was by my side through the end of the wedding, to planning our menu with the amazing kitchen staff, to designing our cake with their incredibly talented baker. It was all wonderful and I believe that everyone at the Grand Geneva did everything in their power to make sure we got our dream wedding. I couldn't have had a better wedding experience and it all started with my venue choice. I highly recommend it and only have the most positive things to say.

We had our wedding at the Grand Geneva this past May. We had a couple of issues along the way with rules changing after signing our contract. One is that before I signed I was told that our guests could have an early check-in since our ceremony started at 4, which was not allowed after the rule change. That became an issue when the front desk staff was rude to our guests who called for an early check-in and they stated that the bride and groom knew they could not check in early, when in fact we did not know. The food was great, except that our special requests for food allergies were not followed. Overall we had a beautiful wedding, just a few extra stress factors along the way.

I apologize for taking so long to leave this review but better late than never. My husband and I got married at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa back in October. We were drawn to the unique location and beautiful property. And of course, it was an added bonus to be able to say that I got married at the Playboy Mansion! haha. Our wedding was a big, (FAT – so much food), Indian wedding, and it was exciting to offer our guests a mini getaway and something different from the usual Chicagoland banquet halls so many of us have grown used to for weddings. We loved that we were able to fully make use of the beautiful Grand Geneva property and have our different events in different rooms/areas of the resort. We had such a wonderful experience working with Grand Geneva. We began our process of viewing the property (multiple times) and negotiating the contract with Sales Manager, Gabi. Then, we worked with Event Manager, Jessica, for the rest of the planning up until the wedding weekend. Both ladies were such a joy to work with. We had A LOT of specific and random needs and wants, and Grand Geneva was so accommodating of all of our requests. We worked closely with Jessica to iron out all of our various details, and we just cannot say enough great things about her. She listened to what we wanted as well as our concerns, and she always had solutions and options to offer to us. Jessica made my process of wedding planning a lot easier than what it could have been. We are so grateful to her and all of her hard work and efforts. A huge THANK YOU to Jessica and everyone at Grand Geneva! I could not have asked for a more beautiful and wonderful wedding weekend! All of our guests had a great time. Grand Geneva will always be so special to us, and we cannot wait to return soon!

I am absolutely happy with everything on my wedding day! The Grand Geneva is a beautiful location. My outdoor ceremony had great views and the reception space at the chalet was so different , rustic looking and a truly wonderful Space as well. The staff , bartenders and waiters especially Juan Espinoza where attentive and polite. Juan made sure the wedding night everyone was taken care of. My wedding event coordinator Kate and from the moment I got in contact through email and even when I met her through the process of the wedding planning she a pleasure to work with. She made sure the planning was easy and helped with every detail! I cannot say enough about Kate she was welcoming and went above and beyond what I could have imagine. I was so happy with the way everything turned out. Kate helped in every step of the wedding process every email or phone call. Without her I couldn't have done it. I can't say enough about Grand Geneva from the location , people and experience everything was perfect!

Recently just had the opportunity and joy of getting married at Grand Geneva! THE PLANNING: The planning went well, as we signed our contract 2 years prior to the event date for (2017). We were informed we were one of the first weddings to sign on for 2017, so we felt secure in our choice for an outdoor ceremony and the Chalet for our reception. Fast forward two years, we had THREE DIFFERENT coordinators, THREE different rehearsal dinner managers, and FOUR Spa Managers. This is exhausting from someone trying to plan from afar - sending e-mails with no responses, leaving voicemails with no one responding, all to find out that there is a new person to update and get on the same page about what the wedding will look like and what the hope for the end result will be. Luckily, it all came together as imagined, as for the wedding day I didn't leave things to chance and made sure outside hires and my family decorator was available to set up as planned.THE REHEARSAL: The rehearsal went well, except we were not allowed to rehearse in the space that we reserved because a dinner was going on in that space. It is hard for me to imagine that this dinner was booked 2 years prior, but I feel that this was a huge dissatisfaction to myself, my groom, and our bridal party. THE DINNER, however, was extremely well executed. The wait staff, including Melissa, Emma F, Cali, and Kathy S were amazing with my bridal group. (Also, shout out to our bartender Kyle that personally came to take our orders during cocktail hour).THE RECEPTION: The ceremony was gorgeous (except someone was allowed to walk behind the ceremony site in photographers' view) and the reception was so much fun, but the food was different than what we had taste-tested (specifically the pasta and potato dish ... new chef?)Luckily, all the rough roads went unnoticed by our guests! Only to the B&G. I feel a lot of the issues stemmed from planning issues and coordinator 'coordination'.Grand Geneva was memorable and beautiful and should not be reduced on the perfection of this place as a ceremony site and reception hall, I personally just truly encourage more open communication between all the managers, coordinators, and their clients.

Our wedding was this past April and we are so glad we had it at the Grand Geneva! Kate Hartz was our event coordinator and she was amazing! We really lucked out with her. She helped recommend a good DJ, florist and photographer, who we all ended up loving. She was super creative throughout the whole process and gave us great ideas. And she really went out of her way to help us--she even picked up some vases from another nearby resort that my sister had used at her wedding--I was very impressed! Also she is so detail-oriented that we knew everything would be ready for the big day. And it ended up being the most perfect wedding. She made it entirely stress-free for my husband and I. She worked flawlessly with our DJ and photographer to make sure everything was going as planned. My parents who also worked and talked with her were also very impressed with her. The Grand Geneva as a whole was also fantastic, everyone who works there is so pleasant and are always smiling. Thank you Grand Geneva and Kate Hartz!!

My husband and I got married at The Grand Geneva Resort on November 11, 2016. We live in the Chicago area, but wanted somewhat of a destination wedding. It was the perfect location! Lake Geneva is a beautiful area particularly in the fall. We planned our wedding in 6 months. Communications with Grand Geneva were a little slow during our planning process, but I assumed it was because it was their busiest time of year (summer) with multiple weddings per weekend. Closer to our wedding date, our communications with our coordinator, improved greatly and things went very well. Our wedding rehearsal was easy and our wedding day went very well. Our coordinator had timelines and details worked out perfectly with our vendors. The only issue worth noting is a mishap during our reception. There was a disconnect when our coordinator left the reception for the night and then who was supposed to prompt the start of speeches, etc. or what time that was supposed to happen. As a result, things were delayed in getting started and we had to skip out on a few things like the slideshow created by the photographer. Not the end of the world, but something that could have been prevented. Regardless, our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were great. My husband and I were incredibly happy! We received so many compliments from our guests about how lovely the venue was, how great the service was, how delicious the food was and just how much fun everyone had. I would definitely recommend The Grand Geneva Resort for a wedding. In fact, we are looking forward to planning a golf weekend or a getaway weekend there again, sometime soon!

My husband and I were married at the Grand Geneva in April 2015. We had the ceremony in a banquet room and the reception in the Ski Chalet. It was MAGNIFICENT from start to finish. Our coordinator, Kate Hartz, was available for us for anything we needed. My bridal party and I had our hair and make up done at the salon and we were pampered and made to feel very special. The rooms were roomy and comfortable. My guests still talk about the wedding and how unique it was with the Ski Chalet and the trolley. I couldn't have asked for anything better!!

My husband and I were married at the Grand Geneva in April 2015. We had the ceremony in a banquet room and the reception in the Ski Chalet. It was MAGNIFICENT from start to finish. We had the best time of our lives and we're so happy we chose the Grand Geneva for our wedding! We visited over 10 venues in person and looked at over 30 online before finding the Grand Geneva resort - we are so glad we did! Our ceremony was outdoors overlooking the golf course and our reception was in the chalet. Everything was BEAUTIFUL and so different from anything our guests had seen before. Everyone loved the venue and the resort trolleys made getting to and from the ceremony to the reception not only easy, but fun for everyone as well (the trolleys also made for amazing wedding party photos)! There was a slight wait for the first trolley to go to the reception which was a little annoying, but once we got there, everything was great. The food is expensive, but was delicious and worth the higher prices. We are still getting compliments from guests on the incredible food/cake ( the cake was to die for!) If you are looking for a full service experience, this is the place to book. Kate Hartz was our assigned wedding planner and she was amazing :) She took care of every detail on the day of the wedding and made sure everything ran smoothly. It was so comforting to have her there reassuring me everything was going as planned and to answer any questions I had as the day progressed. The wait staff was wonderful as were the bartenders - they took care of all of the guests even with (several) special dietary requests... The only complaint we received from a couple guests was the way rooms were blocked/reserved (which has nothing to do with the wedding planning team). 2 guests were put in the building on the opposite end from everyone else (even though they were one of the first to reserve their rooms) and another guest was not given the suites they reserved and had to squeeze a bunch of people into a fairly small room for the first night - it was mostly sorted out for the second night. We both highly recommend the Grand Geneva Resort to anyone who wants a smooth, stress free (as stress free as a wedding can be), absolutely beautiful, memorable wedding - we could not have asked for a more perfect day and only regret that we cannot re-live it again and again!!!

My husband and I were engaged in April and married a short six months later in October, 2016 at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. Despite our minimal planning time, Kate and the team at the Grand Geneva helped us put together a once in a lifetime event that we will remember with fondness for years to come. From simple recommendations on florists to last minute hotel room additions and countless emails in-between over items small and large, Kate was a wonderful resource and advocate for us every step of the way. We were married overlooking the Brute and held our reception in the Evergreen Ballroom however our guests spread throughout the resort soaking up all the amenities throughout the weekend (golf, spa, walking paths, etc). The cuisine was outstanding and their attention to food allergy requirements and their approval of special requests (such as our cake of cheese), were all handled respectfully and gracefully. We found that with guests coming from Chicago to Rockford as well as out of state, that choosing the Grand Geneva gave our guests the perfect excuse to spend a gorgeous fall weekend in lovely Lake Geneva. Having everything on site alleviated the cost of shuttling everyone to and fro as well as eliminated a lot of event day stress. We appreciated all the extra nuances such as spa staff going out of their way to make my step-daughter feel comfortable & special and providing our photographer with a list of proven photo-spots on property. Were there a few bumps in the road, of course, but the overall experience left us, our families, and our friends with bright smiles and full hearts. We are exceptionally happy that we chose the Grand Geneva as the backdrop to our wedding -- and look forward to returning there to share future memories together.

My husband and I got married at the Grand Geneva in July 2016, and the entire day was absolutely perfect. Our wedding coordinator, Rhonda, was phenomenal to work with for our wedding. Rhonda was quick to respond, was understanding and patient throughout the whole wedding planning, and helped make our wedding day beautiful. The venue is gorgeous, the food was delicious, and everyone we worked with at Grand Geneva went out of their way to help accommodate our guests. We loved how we were able to have our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one location. My husband and I had a wonderful wedding experience and I would highly recommend Rhonda as a wedding coordinator and having a wedding at the Grand Geneva!

We had our wedding at the Grand Geneva on October 3, 2015 and it was wonderful! This is actually the third Grand Geneva wedding for our family - both of my husband's sisters had their weddings there - that's how much we like it! The staff was very attentive, and Kate Hartz, the wedding coordinator was a pleasure to work with. The food was delicious and we truly did not have to worry about a thing on the day of our wedding. The reception space looked beautiful - just as I had hoped. The resort is very nice as well and our guests appreciated being able to stay at the same location as the wedding. The spa at the resort did all of the hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids. There was also a lounge/bar where our guests were able to continue the celebration after our reception ended. We had a wonderful wedding experience and I would recommend the Grand Geneva for anyone looking for an all-in-one wedding atmosphere at a beautiful resort!

I am pretty detail oriented and I like prompt communication and Kate and the rest of the GG staff did not disappoint. I am also deathly allergic to bee's so for a fall, outdoor ceremony I was nervous about that situation, but the staff hit bee traps behind my arch and made sure that me and my guests were safe. We chose GGR because about 75% of our 300-person guest list was coming from out of town so we needed a venue that would accommodate a lot of guests for the entire weekend. It was absolutely perfect! The weekend itself went perfectly, I can't say enough positive things about our coordinator, Kate, and the event staff on wedding day! The planning process leading up to the actual day (the year and a half from booking to wedding day) had a few bumps and confusion along the way, but that's bound to happen anywhere. I highly suggest GGR for any wedding, no matter the size or time of year!

I recently has my wedding at the Ski Chalet at the Grand Geneva on 11/25/2016, the day after Thanksgiving. We had our rehearsal dinner on Thanksgiving and it was amazing. It was very important to me that we kept the traditions of thanksgiving even though it was a rehearsal dinner. The Grand Geneva and my wedding coordinator Jamie took care of everything for this. It was an amazing Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone commented on how great the food was. We had a very large rehearsal dinner and the staff was so accommodating with every request and were on top of everything. Our wedding the next day was so beautiful. It went so far beyond my expectations. I was amazed how the Chalet was transformed. Again, the staff including Jamie as well as the service was impeccable. They took care of everything so I was able to enjoy my day and not have to worry about anything. Our guests were so impressed with the food and level of service that were provided to us on our special day. I could not be happier with how our wedding day turned out. Jamie my wedding coordinator in particular was simply amazing. She kept in constant contact with me throughout the months leading up to the wedding, put up with all of my emails filled with questions and requests and always responded in a quick manner. All of the time and energy that she put in to our wedding helped me so much, I was completely relaxed the days leading up to the wedding and ultimately the day of because I knew she would be on top of everything and clearly understood my vision for the wedding. I highly recommend having your wedding at the Grand Geneva. It was beyond perfect. Thank you!

We had our wedding on Sunday of Labor Day weekend, 9/6/15. It was absolutely perfect. We arrived on Friday around 12pm and most of our rooms were ready, such a nice surprise. The pool was perfect and we actual had time to hang there Fri and Sat, guests even enjoyed the day of the wedding. We enjoyed the gym for a yoga class. Guys golfed, stated it was a beautiful course. No last minute planning as our wedding coordinator, Stacey, was on top of everything. All restaurants in the hotel were great. The day of the wedding we had everything taken care of. Stacey and room service were available by the push of a button. Ceremony and reception were beautifully set up, just like we pictured. The food was awesome, we are still getting compliments. We were outside for the reception and that can be difficult but they handled everything perfectly. I am very on top of things and a detailed planner but Grand Geneva really put me at ease once we arrived. The Grand Geneva grounds are beautiful, couldn't have been a more perfect weekend!

We had a wonderful time at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa. The staff was amazing and our wedding coordinator Rhonda was amazing! Our guests had a great time at all of the events that had taken place on site and the golf course was beautiful. They did a fabulous job and we are so grateful to them and all of their hard work.

Had our family wedding here. I can't begin to describe how horrible their service was! They screwed up our entire hotel block, told us a month before they didn't have enough rooms despite our contracted number. We were scrambling to find hotels, had to meet with the director of events several times because of screw ups. Their wedding planners are unreliable, our first one quit and never told us she was leaving. The replacement was rude, never responded to emails or seemed to care. When we tried to drop of decorations the week of the wedding, the lady working at the Chalet was so rude, rolled her eyes and said they didn't have any room. We had to argue to accomplish anything. To top it off, on the weekend of the wedding they didn't have bride and groom room available!! Put them in a different room, then told them they had to vacate that room in the morning. No place for any the stuff: wedding gowns, tuxes..ect. After our refusal to move the bride to yet a 3rd room, they came and moved all our stuff while we were away at the rehearsal dinner!!! Unbelievable!! For the price you pay for a wedding at the Grand Geneva, we expected so much more. What a disappointment
