My husband and I got married here on October 22, 2022 and I can honestly say everything was perfectly flawless! A complete dream! When I first saw the space in person, I couldn’t believe we were lucky enough to snag that date! We had a 12-month engagement, and venues were filling up so quickly. We were struggling to find a venue with availability, and nothing we toured compared to here. We originally went to visit thinking it would be enough to convince me to push our date out…and I think we got lucky with someone’s cancellation for an October weekend!! It was so magical because everything felt meant to be. From day one, we were working with Casey- I LOVE HER. She is so professional, so kind, so welcoming, so thorough, gave all kinds of tips based on her experience, was SO patient during the final crunch time decision. Her experience is obvious from the get go. She personally knows sooo many vendors whom all speak highly of her. This helped us feel instantly comfortable sitting back and letting the experts run the show! Like the review below, we also had both our ceremony and reception in the GH. The room flip was executed so flawlessly, I was seriously dying both times I saw the room for the first time (1st for ceremony, 2nd for reception). Stunning. We loved the food. Casey kept saying how much the chef pours into his menu for weddings, and it showed. All of the guests were so happy! Bar was also a hit! They have great alcohol selections in their packages, and the look/feel of the bar was also very fun. Was a great way for people to spread out without the dance floor feeling empty. I agree with some of the other reviewers in advising that it’s important to have a day of wedding coordinator (at a minimum). When signing a contract with the venue, they will advise this too. Casey’s/Union Station’s intake forms are very thorough in terms of the space and the room, we definitely felt prepared from that aspect. However, having an expert to manage timeline (& things like processional/speeches/gathering bridal party for entrances, etc.) made everything extra perfect, and low stress. We used Christine & Co. and were sooo happy! Seriously cannot recommend this venue enough and I can only HOPE that I’m invited back there some day as a wedding guest, so that I can experience the magic once more.

Having our wedding at the Grand Hall was perfection! Eva and her team went above and beyond to make our day exactly what we hoped it would be. On top of it being such a beautiful space, they do not disappoint for food and drinks. We did the Diamond Stations for dinner and got SO many compliments that the food was “the best wedding food” our guests had ever had! My maid-of-honor said that the Grand Hall seems like a “no mistakes” kind of venue, and that is so true! My husband and I wanted to have a Polaroid camera with our guest book and when Eva and her team realized we had forgotten to give them batteries with the camera, she ran out and grabbed some. To me, that speaks volumes about the level of care and dedication you can expect from the events team at this venue. My husband and I got married at the Grand Hall in Historic Union Station on October 8, 2022 and it was a dream. When I first saw the space a year a half before our wedding, I knew immediately that this was where we were going to get married. The Grand Hall is absolutely stunning and historical so we booked on the spot after our tour! We had both our ceremony and reception in the Grand Hall. During cocktail hour the staff flips the room while our guests enjoyed drinks and food in the gorgeous bar space. Besides the stunning space, it was very convenient for us that food and beverage was done in house and that there’s the Crowne Plaza Hotel attached to the venue for our guests to stay at. Our guests loved the train car rooms and the regular rooms were so nice too. My husband and I LOVED our honeymoon suite! So pretty! The food was DELICIOUS. We had the pearl station for dinner and I’ve never heard so many compliments on wedding food! Our food and beverage minimum for our Saturday in October was $20,000 so I was extremely pleased that the cocktail hour appetizers, the dinner, and the dessert table were so delicious. The bartending staff, the food station staff, and the staff who were there just helping out on the day of were so kind and helpful. Our wedding was so perfect and so beautiful - our guests are still talking about how amazing our wedding was to this day! I can’t talk enough about the stunning space and pictures don’t do it justice. However, I do need to say that I highly recommend you get a wedding planner or a day of coordinator at the least. We used Whitney Holmes from Christina Burton Events and I couldn’t recommend her more! The communication with my venue contact was not as good as I would have liked. I tried not to bother them unless there was a question I really needed answered because I knew 2021/2022 was a really busy wedding year with all the COVID reschedules, but it would take weeks or well over a month to get a response. At one point I was told my emails were going to their junk inbox, but even after that I still couldn’t get any response back. It was just really frustrating because not hearing from the venue prevented me from getting other planning aspects done with our other vendors. Whitney really helped out here answering my questions from her experience working with the venue or just taking care of whatever I needed. Once we were two weeks or so out from our wedding day, my venue contact really stepped up and communications between us went great which helped ease any stress I still had. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t change a single thing about our wedding day because it was beautiful, executed seamlessly, food was the best food I’ve ever tasted, drinks were flowing, the dance floor was on fire, and our guests had a blast. It was the absolute perfect day in the most perfect venue. Just make sure you have a day of coordinator!

My husband and I got married at the Illinois Street Ballroom and it was absolutely amazing! The staff here worked very hard to make sure out day was flawless. We did the buffet stations and were very happy with that as well. Also very thankful for having several days of storage leading up to the wedding. I couldn't say better things with working with Eva and her staff. She was very thorough and made sure to go over every detail so that we had a good timeline of the day

With all of the different 'fad' type places to get married (barns, industrial buildings, etc.) you'll do yourself a serious disservice if you do not look at Crowne Plaza for your wedding venue. Not only is the entire property BEAUTIFUL (Illinois St Ballroom and Grand Hall AND the hotel), they are an exceptional team. We worked with Megan and Casey during our planning process and they were absolutely the nicest people with great customer service when we needed something. During the weekend of our event, the hotel staff could not have been any more helpful, respectful, and kind to us and our guests. Even my dad remarked that he thought the customer service was better than Disney (and he knows how well trained Disney employees are in customer service). Mauricio was our evening coordinator the day of our reception and he was fantastic as well, very attentive and responsive if we needed anything. I do not have the names of everyone who served at our reception, but if I did each one would get a shout out here for being a great employee during our dinner. Lastly (this is important for COVID planning couples!!), this was our experience with payment terms at CP: I could not tell you how many couples I know in 2020 that just got absolutely ruined by paying so much money up front only to have the venue entirely cancel/not refund money etc. Crowne Plaza did not require us to put any more than our $500 deposit down until just before our wedding day. This was a huge stress relief - not because WE were the ones looking to cancel, but if something happened with restrictions coming back up we could be out of luck and money. Overall whether you are looking at Illinois St Ballroom or the Grand Hall, I highly recommend this venue for your day!

If you are looking for an elegant, all-inclusive downtown wedding venue with hotel accommodations attached, this is the venue for you! My husband and I had our December wedding in the Grand Hall, and we could not be more thrilled with our experience. This is a 5-star-rated venue for a reason. The venue itself is absolutely stunning with its gorgeous Romanesque revival architecture, barreled ceilings, stained glass windows, and antique wooden bar. But what really stood out to us was the people. From our very first tour of Union Station to the actual wedding day, we were consistently treated with top-notch service by every member of the Union Station / Crowne Plaza staff we interacted with. Another huge perk of this venue is the assistance provided by their on-site event coordinator, Casey. She is very responsive to questions and is extremely knowledgeable with respect to the wedding industry in general. We felt so well-taken care of that we decided to stay at the attached Crowne Plana hotel and had our rehearsal dinner and ceremony at Union Station as well. We could not have hoped for a more love-filled and stress-free wedding weekend. We recommend this venue to everyone!

We had our wedding and reception at Grand Hall in December of 2019. I can't say enough great things about Union Station and the entire process was great! We loved working with both Megan and Casey and all the staff that day as well. They are so organized and were always so responsive and accommodating to all my changes :) They are very hands on there and we got so many compliments on the event space, food, service, etc. There are so many options to make having your event here unique which we loved and also loved how the hotel is right there for our out of town guests! It was such a fun weekend downtown and we wish we could re-live it as it was better than we could have ever imagined so thank you Union Station!

We had our wedding here in November 2019, and I can't express enough how awesome the Crowne Plaza staff was in making everything go smoothly and worry-free. We planned our wedding from out of the country and flew back to the US just a few days prior, and they went out of their way to work within our tight schedule and make the wedding possible. Casey was on-point, flexible, and very accommodating. There are a million little things that you don't think about when planning your big day, but the professional staff at the Crowne Plaza will not let you down and they made sure we were covered on everything we needed.

My husband and I chose the Illinois Street Ballroom for our reception venue. It was the perfect location and size for our reception. We had approximately 175 guests come to our reception. Our wedding and reception was on December 1, and the Crowne Plaza decorates the Illinois Street Ballroom with a Christmas tree during this time (if you want). It was a perfect addition to our decor and was the favorite spot for guests photos all night. Casey, the Crowne Plaza wedding coordinator, was amazing at answering all our e-mails and especially helping the day of the wedding. Everything is made simple, food and drink are included, and they even got us a keg of craft beer for the wedding party (my husband is a beer snob). It was a perfect night.

This venue was absolutely amazing for our wedding reception. We had it in the Illinois Street Ballroom and it has an amazing view. It was the perfect space. All our guests loved the food and the drinks. It was the most affordable venue we found downtown for the type of reception we were wanting. Just because it was affordable it didn’t take away from the value of service. The whole staff went above and beyond. We couldn’t have been happier.

This venue was absolutely amazing for our wedding reception. We had it in the Illinois Street Ballroom and it has an amazing view. It was the perfect space. All our guests loved the food and the drinks. It was the most affordable venue we found downtown for the type of reception we were wanting. Just because it was affordable it didn’t take away from the value of service. The whole staff went above and beyond. We couldn’t have been happier.

My wedding was truly better than I could have ever imagine thanks to this venue. Their wedding coordinator, Casey Perry, made the planning process exponentially easier and brought my vision to life. The venue is absolutely stunning in of itself which takes the pressure off of decorating. So many of my guests commented on how breathtaking the Grand Hall was. It was so convenient having the bar package and catering taken care of through the venue as well. I am still receiving compliments on how great the food was! If you are planning a wedding in the Indy area, I strongly urge you to at least tour Union Station because one look at it sold me!

My husband and I had our wedding at the Grand Hall - I’ll skip talking about how beautiful and unique this venue is because that is evident when you go and check it out. I’ll focus on how everyone at Crowne Plaza was an absolute dream to work with. They made our day incredibly worry free and were able to accommodate exactly what my husband and I envisioned. Everything from set up, to food and beverage was amazing and we were able to customize things important to us (a few of which were getting a keg from my hometown microbrewery, a napkin fold I found on pintrest haha, a specialized drink my mom made growing up, as well as a taco and tequila late night snack that wasn’t on the menu), all while working with me to add and subtract things that would work within our budget… We still get so many compliments on how amazing everything was including the food. I’ve heard of so many brides that have something that bothered them about their wedding but try and make the most of it when they look back… I can genuinely say that I never had that moment thanks to the incredible team at Crowne Plaza – everything was beyond perfect. Special shout out to Desiree – she was so incredible to work with and took care of absolutely everything for me. I can’t thank y’all enough for making my husband and I’s day so special. Without a question, this is the perfect place to have your wedding.

My husband and I had our wedding at the Grand Hall - I’ll skip talking about how beautiful and unique this venue is because that is evident when you go and check it out. My husband and I were married May 12, 2017I must say I was a bit fustruated because I had no idea what will take place, all I knew is i had a vision and in my head I kept trying to figure out how can they possibly get this right, detail to detail. I delt with Megan at first which is a very exceptional person, she gave great experience. later on I then got introduced to Desiree which was a very nice person as well she made sure she responded to all emails accordingly. Even though the ones, I became so nervous and was just typing, texting away, with misspelled words and grammer, Right! I called that the Bride Fright while texting. But on the day of my wedding everything was sat in place just like i imagined she made sure my vision was completly beautiful and I was astonished. I can truly say the Ballroom speaks for self it is absoultly beautiful without the decorations. So only imagine the look with the brides touch; breath taking it was. My wedding and the venue it's self is still number one most talked about. And for the issues that did occur. The Union Station/ Crown Plaza made sure it was well taken care of. If i could do it again it would be at this location again, w/o no hesitation at all. I felt welcomed throughout the entire process. Everything was great from the coordination down to the food. We had our wedding at the Crowne in July of 2017, and it was absolutely amazing. Not only is the room stunning, but the service there is impeccable and they worked with us to meet everything we asked and needed for our big day. We continually hear from so many guests how they have never been to such a beautiful and elegant wedding and how everything was just amazing.Also, this is the BEST wedding food you can have. It comes out super hot, and everyone gets such a generous portion. I love that they served us first because we were actually able to enjoy our meal. We ordered the chicken Tuscany and Beef medallions and both were AMAZING! There is no doubt that this is the best venue in Indianapolis. We had about 200 people at our wedding and the room didn't feel too big. We are so appreciative of the Crowne and everything they did for us and our families!

We got married June 18, 2016. From the moment we walked into Union Station, we knew we had to get married there. We had our wedding and reception in the Grand Hall. Everyone was so wonderful to work with. Desiree was our wedding coordinator. She was a pleasure to work with. There are so many different options and packages that it seems impossible you won't find what you want. They were very prompt in answering any questions we had. The Grand Hall is so unique and gorgeous that it really doesn't require any extra decor! And the FOOD! We have heard so many compliments about everything, especially the food. Our day seemed like an absolute dream, and we couldn't imagine having it any other place than Union Station!

We could not be more than happy with Megan and Ashlee at the Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful!!! Megan and Ashlee were very responsive to any e-mails that we sent and worked very well with any ideas or extra \"things\" that came up at the last minute. Both ladies truly care about their job and you can tell they take it very seriously. If something is not up to the bride or grooms standards, they assume responsibility and always have a resolution. I had several guests say that our wedding reception was the best they have ever been to. I would highly recommend having your wedding here because it will be a 5 star experience!

My husband and I got married in May 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Union Station. I looked at a few other wedding venues before visiting Union Station but none of them had the unique quality I was looking for. As soon as I stepped into the gorgeous Grand Hall ballroom, I knew it was where I wanted to have my wedding. Megan Kissel, the catering director, was very patient in helping us settle on the perfect wedding date. She was flexible and willing to work with us. Ashlee Weiper, our wedding coordinator, was also great to work with. Before my wedding day, I corresponded with Ashlee extensively by phone and email to discuss wedding and vendor details. She was very professional, organized and quick to respond. She was very thorough and made sure to document everything so she knew exactly what we wanted. On the day of the wedding, Ashlee made sure everything was running smoothly. She helped coordinate with our vendors and made sure that everything was done according to plan. When issues came up with a couple of our vendors, she quickly handled them and most importantly made sure that we did not get stressed out. We selected a stations menu so all the food was made to order for each guest. Our guests loved having so many options. It was by far the best food I have ever had at a wedding! It was even better than the tasting. After the wedding, many of our guests commented about how delicious the food was and how beautiful and elegant the venue was. Thank you Ashlee and Megan for helping make our wedding day perfect!

We had both our ceremony and reception there and the staff made our day as stress-free and enjoyable as possible! Megan and Ashlee (event/wedding coordinators) were wonderful to work with. They were personable, respectful, and professional regarding all of our wedding day needs and wants. The unique, historical building provides many opportunities for beautiful backdrops for the photographer as well! The Grand Ballroom is a beautiful and spacious room, perfect for a wedding ceremony and/or reception. The food was delicious! Our guests commented multiple times on the large dinner portion sizes and were impressed with how quickly the dinner was served. We had the time of our lives with our guests on the dance floor. We cannot thank the staff enough for making this day the best day of our lives!

We got married at Union Station at the Crowne Plaza this October and had the most fantastic experience. Ashlee was incredible to work with and really took care of every single one of our needs. We were both overwhelmed by the care that every member of the staff put in to making our special day incredible. Maria, the Banquet Manager, handled everything that came up impeccably.\r\rThe space is obviously incredible. It has been well taken care of and updated, so you get the historic feeling with every modern amenity. The food was fantastic, and the portions are huge. All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was; the steaks were cooked perfectly (and were huge!) and the chicken was not dried out. The food during our cocktail hour was perfect, and everyone was talking about how much they loved having a late night snack.\r\rWe were concerned as a same-sex couple, but were greeted by nothing but professionalism and excitement for us. I only wish we had another excuse to have a party here! We had a perfect evening and would not hesitate to send any of our friends to the Crowne Plaza for their wedding.

I had SUCH a great experience working with the Crowne Plaza Hotel. I worked with Ashley and she was so great. She answered all of my emails promptly and answered all eight million of my totally ridiculous questions. I changed my mind about some food choices about a month before the wedding (after our tasting) and she totally rolled with it! She and Megan went above and beyond when they found out that there was going to be a parade and the Notre Dame marching band was going to be playing right as my cocktail hour was set to start. My reception was beautiful, the food was excellent, the staff was so great! Could not have asked for a better day!

Wow! I don't even know where to even begin! My husband and I got married at the Crowne Plaza in Indianapolis in the main ballroom in April 2014 and we, as well as family and friends, are still talking about how amazing the venue and day was. If you are looking for a unique venue unlike any other in the city this is your place! The stain glass is breathtaking and the bar is so historic, our guests loved it! It is not cheap but it was SO WORTH every penny spent. The staff from front desk to wait staff were always helpful when needed. I owe a lot of my sanity during wedding planning AND the day of especially to Ashlee and Megan, the wedding coordinators, who were tremendously helpful and made me feel like I was the only bride they were working with (when we all know that is not the case since they book up over a year in advance)! I am not kidding when I say they made sure every detail went perfect, and if there were ones that didn't (which I don't think there were), they made sure I didn't know about it! I couldn't be happier with the choice to marry in and have our reception in the main ballroom at the Crowne and I will forever remember my wedding day as everything I hoped it would be!! I wish all you future brides as great a wedding day as I had :)

I owe a lot of my sanity during wedding planning AND the day of especially to Ashlee and Megan, the wedding coordinators, who were tremendously helpful and made me feel like I was the only bride they were working with (when we all know that is not the case since they book up over a year in advance)! I am not kidding when I say they made sure every detail went perfect, and if there were ones that didn't (which I don't think there were), they made sure I didn't know about it! I couldn't be happier with the choice to marry in and have our reception in the main ballroom at the Crowne and I will forever remember my wedding day as everything I hoped it would be!! I wish all you future brides as great a wedding day as I had :)

Everyone was super helpful, and took a lot of things off my plate so I could enjoy the planning process. I really appreciated how organized and detail-oriented Ashlee and the rest of the team was, so I never worried that something was slipping through the cracks. They were super enjoyable to work with, the space is beautiful and we couldn't be happier with our reception!

We toured a total of 9 venues, with Union Station being the last, and we were sold the moment we walked in. The Grand Hall is glamorous and rustic and so elegant all in its own accord.\r\rAshlee and Megan were fabulous to work with. They took care of everything and made us feel so at ease. They made our wedding come together without a hitch, and I am so thankful for their service.\r\rThe food at Union Station was amazing. Union Station was more than just a wedding venue for us - it truly made our fairytale come true. Every staff member that we worked with through Crowne Plaza was helpful all along our planning path, and our coordinator (Ashlee) was the most helpful of all! She was always willing to answer my (probably annoying) emails, and she always answered promptly and kindly. We also used the Crowne Plaza for our hotel block, and all of our guests were very pleased with their rooms and the service they received. The day of the wedding was a breeze to get through because of the kind staff. I did not have to worry about a thing! Thank you, Union Station for making my fairy tale wedding a reality!!!

Everyone there was extremely professional, organized and helpful during the planning process. Ashlee worked well with me as well as responding quickly to my parents. \r\rThe day of, everything was set up as we had discussed and any changes (turn down the temp in room, add beer to the groom's room, etc.) were make promptly. I cannot say enough about our wedding at Crowne Plaza, they were absolutely amazing to work with!!! From the moment we started looking there for our reception to the actual night, everyone was so helpful and friendly. We had our reception in the ballroom and I still get chills when I think about the first time I walked in after the ceremony! We also worked with Katie McHone-Jones on every detail and she was absolutely amazing! We had our dream wedding!!! I also cannot count how many times I heard from our guest how beautiful and perfect the ballroom was!!! We also choose to have food stations and open bar, and received so many compliments on both! I would recommend the Crown Plaza to everyone!!!

I cannot say enough about our wedding at Crowne Plaza, they were absolutely amazing to work with!!! My daughter's wedding was December 28, 2012 in the Grand Ballroom, to start Katie McHone-Jones worked her magic to keep the 2 story lite Christmas tree and garland requested by the bride. Our stay at Union Station from the night before until the day after the wedding ran so smoothly. Katie and her staff were always attentive to our needs as you can imagine we the family and wedding party were very high maintenace being such a big day. Katie always seemed so relaxed and took care of \"unexpected\" things that popped up...and believe me there were times this happened. The food was amazing and I have had many compliments about what a beautiful wedding we had. I can only attribute that to such an awesome venue and staff!

The venue space was just gorgeous - our room overlooked the city of Indianapolis. Our reception was amazing!!! We have heard the phrase \"best reception ever\" used multiple times in describing our wedding. We had so much fun and had nothing to worry about because their planners took care of everything. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5, is because we had some issues with our room block. My dad had to go give the confirmation numbers for some of our family to the hotel, and it was a mess. Had the room block gone more smoothly I would say our wedding was close to perfect!!! :)

I spent months looking for the perfect wedding venue. My fiance & I wanted to hold our ceremony & reception in the same location for ease of traveling downtown (it can get a bit hectic). The Staff at Union Station is by far the friendliest we have encountered. \rRobert & I are getting married in November. We have been working with Megan & Katie at Union Station for over a year to plan our wedding. They have been incredibly helpful & so kind. Everyone we have worked with (chef, hotel staff, management, etc.) has maintained an incredibly friendly & professional attitude. \rOne huge issue we ran into early on in the planning was a Colts home game. Megan called us the day the schedule was released & assured us everything would go smoothly. They even offered to let us change our wedding date (we opted to keep our date though). \rI know that the Grand Hall at Historic Union Station will be perfect for us on our special day. We couldn't be more please with the location & staff. I have & will continue to recommend Union Station & Crowne Plaza to my friends and family for their special events!
