Classic and contemporary 30 minutes East of Austin
Hidden on the Eastern outskirts of Austin, just 30 minutes from East 6th St and Austin Bergstrom Airport, the Grand Lady of Austin will begin hosting weddings in Spring 2020 and will feature a modern 250+ person event space in Spring 2021. Set on 20 acres of Oak Trees “The Grand Lady” is a mansion built in 1881 in Bartlett, Texas as a wedding present for the Waltons. Cared for by various families through each phase of her life, she serves as a grand backdrop for wedding celebrations that embrace modern traditions of love, friendship and family. There are few moments in one’s life in which we are capable of summoning hundreds of people who care for us, to celebrate our commitment to the one person who has captured our heart. A wedding is a unique moment where the intimacy of love for one person collides with an entire room’s love for two people. It’s a moment of spectacular humanity that celebrates the gifts of partnership, family and friendship. We believe the place where this happens matters deeply. We fell in love with the Grand Lady the moment we toured for the first time. Since the brand new Event Hall is so versatile, we had an indoor ceremony which was flipped to reception space with the help of our amazing wedding planner and caterer! My husband and I were able to host 150 of our friends and family seamlessly. With the Grand Lady’s 24 hour rental period, we were able to actually enjoy our time at the Victorian mansion, never feeling rushed since we were already on site. The Victorian home is a charming balance between vintage and modern accents with all of the amenities of a typical home, truly a spacious place to get ready with the upstairs bridal suite. Our guests loved the outdoor courtyard space, which was perfect for lawn games, seating, and an outdoor bar. We worked closely with Christy (manager) as well as Katie and Sean (owners), who were so kind, attentive, and responsive to our needs. We are SO grateful for the entire team at The Grand Lady, and our wedding would not have been the same without them!

BEST. VENUE. EVER.Wow I just got choked up thinking back to my special day. This venue is the PERFECT mix of vintage, timeless, stunning antique with a splash of modern, clean perfection. And the fact that we ( me and my HUBBY) were given the opportunity to stay in the home the night of the wedding, just us two, was absolute magic. The experience from start the finish was so wonderful and I can't thank the staff at The Grand Lady enough. When I walked onto the property, I just knew and the beautiful, personable tour sealed the deal. I can't thank them enough for communicating with, not just me, but my amazing planner as well and for providing such a magical location for me and my husband to celebrate with all of our favorite people. I will recommend this venue for as long as I live!

Love, love, love this venue! I am a wedding photographer and I always recommend this venue to all of my couples. Not only is the venue gorgeous and can accommodate both large and small weddings, it has so many amazing spaces to photograph in. We fell in love before we even saw it in person and once we got to do a site visit, we were obsessed with the historical house and how it was complemented so perfectly by the modern event hall. Our biggest challenge was deciding how we wanted to use all of the spaces since there are so many good options! Communicating with Christy from before we booked and throughout our planning process was a breeze - she was always super quick to respond and also worked so seamlessly with our planner. We felt like TGL had everything we needed, made it very easy to work with our other vendors, and overall made our wedding day so comfortable and stress free.We wish we could get married there again because they're constantly improving the property and creating even more beautiful new spaces throughout!

OMG!! Words can not express the gratitude and absolute joy we all experienced having Megan and Sam’s wedding at The Grand Lady on 11/17/23! From start to finish everything was perfection! The attention to detail, the ability to have the bridesmaids together to do HAMU, the groomsmen to have a separate space to hang and get together, huge kitchen and dining area for everyone to eat before the ceremony, beautiful grounds, breathtaking mansion and ceremony spot, plenty of bathrooms and beautiful reception area! 95% of our guests were from Wisconsin and they all remarked on how impressed and how much fun they had at the wedding!Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you and your staff did behind the scenes to have it run so smoothly! It truly “takes a village” to pull off a wedding that we all had the best time at! From the venue, to the emotional ceremony, the flowers (omg the flowers - Shannon from TGL Floral crushed it), cocktail hour with lights, to the food (Royal Fig - delicious and hot) and the Blind Date Band (no words to describe the best band ever) and the sparkler exit - it was flawless! Plus the fact that you suggested the groomsmen using the Airbnb to shower after Skeet was a lifesaver!Thank you thank you!!One of the best decisions we made was having our daughter’s wedding at The Grand Lady in Austin TX!

I've been photographing weddings in Texas for 9 years at dozens of venues, so I had seen a TON. When I saw the Grand Lady in Austin, I knew immediately that's the venue I wanted to get married at. I had the perfect summer wedding on the lawn in July of 2022. The venue and staff are incredible and half of our guests who traveled from out of state still rave about the venue. It is also a photographer's dream to shoot at. The lighting is stunning and photo ops are endless. I can't recommend the Grand Lady enough.

My daughter's wedding in 2022 was a milestone not only in her life but in our extended family as well. We had the best experience with the owners, planning staff and management and would highly recommend the venue as it likely has only improved since that time. You could book elsewhere for a number of reasons but if professionalism is on the top of your list you shouldn't.

We had the best wedding imaginable at The Grand Lady! The team is truly phenomenal and the venue is so magical. We knew from the moment we stepped onto the property that this was where we were going to get married. After booking, we always felt so supported by Christy and the team to answer all of our questions and concerns so quickly and professionally. There was never a moment that we felt we weren't a priority, even 10 months out when they were in the height of wedding season. They did everything to help us live out our wedding dream. They really went above and beyond for us to make our day more special than we could have imagined. I am so excited to see what amazing improvements and additions they continue to make to this already spectacular place. The team and owners love this place and have invested so much time in cultivating and preserving its history, and it shows. I toured so many different Austin-area wedding venues and this one was THE one.Location: This is, like, the goldilocks of venues. So many downtown options are small or have one bathroom (yikes), and Dripping Springs is so far. This is a perfect distance from town and is so accommodating.Space: One of the key words I had for my wedding was “accommodating” and the Grand Lady delivered. There is beautiful space to get ready, to eat in the morning, for several different photo ops across the different rooms and across the venue, and plenty of bathrooms for guests! Plus, when it flash flooded the morning of our wedding, we had several options to take cover and the covered awning space turned out even better than we imagined. Some other venues only had one plug for a curler (what??). The Grand Lady has it all. People: Christy is lovely and really worked with us on what I understand was a HUGE installation. I know it must have been difficult to make it all work on top of the rain, but the team really went above and beyond to make it look seamless and beautiful.Final word: It’s gorgeous. It’s got everything you need so you’re not rushing around on your wedding day, it has space to accommodate both your wedding party and the full guests throughout the day. Or if it rains :). And it’s run by a wonderful team. What’s not to love?

The Grand Lady was our dream venue. From the moment we entered through the gate we fell in love. Surrounded by greenery and trees, the \"grand\" white mansion initially catches your eye. As you get closer and look to your right, the more modern reception hall juxtaposes, yet perfectly complements the more traditional, southern feel of the venue. Overall, as far as aesthetics are concerned, if you're looking to have a classy/modern wedding feel with southern charm this is the venue for you.From the beginning, we were kindly welcomed by the manager Christy and owner Katie who were accommodating and readily available to us. We highly recommend anyone who is interested to go to an open house which are occasionally held. This helped us with vision and also with meeting vendors.On the day-of, we received so many compliments from our guests about the venue. We also felt at ease knowing how professional and flexible the staff were in case anything big or small went wrong. Lastly, from a photography-perspective this venue is excellent. Between taking photos inside and outside the mansion, against the backdrop of the trees, to the secret flower garden there are so many places to fit your vision of photos. We especially liked the photos in the library. We will always think fondly back to our wedding at The Grand Lady and hope y'all will too.

Christy and the entire staff were always responsive, kind, and helpful throughout the entirety of the planning period through day-of. My wedding day was incredible thanks to the wonderful GL team. The grounds are maintained year round and the modern hall was a life saver during my client's wedding due to a full day of rain. The staff is so kind and truly wants each couple to have the best wedding day possible. Christy specifically was the one assisting us during planning and she helped us make sure that our weather plans were just as great as our Plan A. You can tell how much she cares for each client and the well being of such a gorgeous property. Overall we had the best experience and would recommend to anyone!

The moment I drove onto the Grand Lady property I knew I found my venue and then when I toured and met Christy the property manager I was sure. The venue itself is stunning, the house makes such a great backdrop for photos and the reception hall is so beautiful that you don't need any decorations. The property was clean and well taken care of on the day of the wedding. The groom and I got to stay at the house the night of the wedding which is a memory I will never forget. We picked the perfect venue for the perfect day.

The Grand Lady was the perfect venue for our wedding day. Christy is so responsive and kind, the owners are awesome and care so much about every single wedding, and the venue itself is gorgeous - rain or shine! It was raining on our day but it didn't matter - the venue had a great rain plan and the owners brought extra flowers into the house for us since they knew we'd be taking lots of pictures indoors. I couldn't recommend The Grand Lady more!

The Grand Lady was the perfect venue for our wedding day. Christy is so responsive and kind, the owners are awesome and care so much about every single wedding, and the venue itself is gorgeous - rain or shine! It was raining on our day but it didn't matter - the venue had a great rain plan and the owners brought extra flowers into the house for us since they knew we'd be taking lots of pictures indoors. I couldn't recommend The Grand Lady more!

There is no way I can put into words how much we absolutely loved our wedding at the Grand Lady. We viewed almost every single venue in the general Austin/Hill Country area and The Grand Lady fit every want that we had... big getting ready space, modern yet warm reception hall, having the venue completely to ourselves, and overall just the exact vibe we were looking for (not ranch style, not far out of downtown, etc.). On top of that, Christy the Venue Manager is the absolute best person to work with. She replied so fast, answered my 1,000 questions with so much kindness and was so flexible and accommodating. We had quite a large wedding party (16 girls getting ready up stairs and 16 boys downstairs) and there was more than enough room, bathrooms, and the full kitchen was amazing for breakfast/lunch for the bridesmaids. The reception hall is amazing, such a great blank canvas but so beautiful that you dont need too much either - it easily fit 150 guests and a band with plenty of room to dance and sit! I can ramble on for days about how it was the most perfect venue - I cannot recommend it enough. Just absolutely stunning and amazing venue and staff. We already miss it!

There is no way I can put into words how much we absolutely loved our wedding at the Grand Lady. We viewed almost every single venue in the general Austin/Hill Country area and The Grand Lady fit every want that we had... big getting ready space, modern yet warm reception hall, having the venue completely to ourselves, and overall just the exact vibe we were looking for (not ranch style, not far out of downtown, etc.). On top of that, Christy the Venue Manager is the absolute best person to work with. She replied so fast, answered my 1,000 questions with so much kindness and was so flexible and accommodating. We had quite a large wedding party (16 girls getting ready up stairs and 16 boys downstairs) and there was more than enough room, bathrooms, and the full kitchen was amazing for breakfast/lunch for the bridesmaids. Besides being one of the most gorgeous venues in the Austin area, I had an excellent experience with everyone I came into contact with. Christy is so responsive and warm. There was a very minor landscaping issue the morning of the wedding, and both Christy and the owner went above and beyond with their apologies. The Grand Lady is truly a STUNNING wedding venue! This was one of two venues we toured and after seeing another venue, we knew this one was the one. Christy was such a help and was always so responsive to any questions I had during the planning process. She was very knowledgeable about the property not just as a manager but as she also had her wedding at The Grand Lady. We loved the minimalism and simple beauty of the property. It has a country feel, but also a brand new modern reception hall that was incredible. Christy was easy to work with and they allowed us to bring in our own vendors which added a fun customizable element to our wedding. There is a beautiful outdoor courtyard area that was perfect for a cocktail hour. There's a natural flow about the space too that makes it easy to transition from each part of the event. Unfortunately we weren't able to host our wedding at the Grand Lady due to unforeseen personal circumstances, however, working with Katie was an absolute pleasure. She was extremely responsive and accommodating. Because we were planning our wedding from afar and wouldn't be able to see the venue in person before booking, Katie sent us many videos, spoke with us in great detail about the property, and answered loads of questions. I've heard nothing but good things about Katie and the Grand Lady from the planners and vendors I've spoken with, and sincerely hope we can plan an event there in the future.

Unfortunately we weren't able to host our wedding at the Grand Lady due to unforeseen personal circumstances, however, working with Katie was an absolute pleasure. She was extremely responsive and accommodating. Because we were planning our wedding from afar and wouldn't be able to see the venue in person before booking, Katie sent us many videos, spoke with us in great detail about the property, and answered loads of questions. I've heard nothing but good things about Katie and the Grand Lady from the planners and vendors I've spoken with, and sincerely hope we can plan an event there in the future.

Katie and Sean are an absolute delight to work with. My husband and I were the first \"large\" wedding to be held at the Grand Lady, and Katie and Sean worked tirelessly to make sure the venue was in top form for our day. We chose the Grand Lady because of its unique history, beautiful scenery, and ability to \"customize\" what our day could look like. Everyone had a phenomenal time, and the day was even better than what we could have imagined. Katie and Sean's work ethic, kindness, and generosity set them apart from other venues, and we cannot recommend the Grand Lady more highly.

The Grand Lady is a unique and beautiful spot located just outside of Austin. We took our engagement photos on the property recently and could not have had a better time. Wow! The Grand Lady is stunning!! I recently discovered this venue and fell in love with their beautiful property. I photographed there for a last minute recent bridal shoot and Katie was so easy to work with! Katie was so sweet and accommodating. The shoot took place on a rainy day and the photos turned out dreamy and gorgeous on their covered porch! This would be a wonderful location for any wedding!

The Grand Lady is a truly special place. The mansion has so much character and has been beautifully restored. It's tucked back in an oak grove and is so quaint and romantic. She is a true delight to work with, so passionate about the industry and is everything you'd hope for in a wedding partner. The Grand Lady is a STUNNING venue and the work they've done just shows how dedicated she is to her work and making this space a staple in the industry. We had booked this venue but due to Covid decided to do something smaller--Katie was so easy to work with us on these changes. I can't recommend working with her and this venue enough--she's so accommodating and helpful.

Katie and Shawn (forgive me if I spelt that wrong!) are WONDERFUL! They are both so easy to talk to, so accommodating and helpful. The Grand Lady is absolutely stunning. We’ve watched some of the transformations real time and they are incredible. The mansion has a very modern feel while still keeping its character. Katie told us that blue on a house used to mean that all were welcome and she made sure to incorporate that into its new facelift. We are so excited to get married here Halloween 2021!!

Being a photographer, I was in photo heaven! There are so many amazing places to take photos inside and outside, which is such an important thing to consider when choosing a venue. There is so much intention behind its design and all of its little details. After learning about the history of the mansion, it made me fall in love with it even more! We worked with Katie and she is seriously a dream to work with. We could tell how passionate she is about The Grand Lady and how much she truly cares about the couples and vendors that she works with. If you're looking for a venue in the Austin area, I can't recommend it enough!

My fiance and I will be getting married in fall 2021 and we have looked at so many venues, and we loved Grand Lady. We came to the open house Katie and her husband, Sean hosted. Absolutely LOVE this property! It's so unique and unlike any other venues I've visited. There are a lot of great options for places for the ceremony, and for the reception you could do a tent or enjoy a party outside! Highly recommend checking out The Grand Lady!

We toured the Grand Lady and fell in love! An old texas mansion sits on 20 acres surrounded by oak trees and has an awesome wrap around deck. The interior of the mansion has been completely renovated and is so well done. Katie, the owner, was an amazing host and seems like she would be great to work with. They will be adding an event hall in fall 2020 that will be more modern with indoor and outdoor areas for reception and ceremony! We love it!

Meet the Grand Lady Austin Team
Katie West (Owner) The Grand Lady team is composed of three families- architects, designers, friends. We sought to create a unique and inspired space, just outside our city, built to commemorate the poignant, meaningful celebrations of love that come with a wedding. Throughout her career as a tech executive, Katie West dreamed of creating a space like the Grand Lady ever since her own wedding in 2012. The Grand Lady came into her life along with the design and architecture skill of the Grand Lady Team- Frannie Peterson, Kevin Sullivan, Michael Deere and Anna Katsios- that dream became a reality.
