I wanted to get married in a very \"Colorado\" spot - no ballrooms, nothing cookie cutter. Something that felt like you were in a log cabin that you'd never seen before. Grand Lake Lodge delivered. What it lacks in luxury, it makes up for ten fold in charm, history, beauty and originality. I couldn't have loved our experience there more and was told many times over it was the most beautiful place for a wedding I've ever been to. Reviewed on 07-08-2023
Amanda Knowles(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-08-2021 We got married in August of 2021 at GLL and we have zero regrets. The venue itself is stunning and for us/our guests, it felt like a magical vacation on the most beautiful mountainside. The lodge worked with us on what we wanted and provided excellent support and care while we were there. The Aspens, natural elements, historical buildings, and overall charm sold us on the place and having amazing support during a hectic time was a huge added bonus. In particular working with Kerri was so helpful because she went above and beyond in too many ways to count. Grand Lake is a beautiful town and the lodge is truly unique. I will be going back every year to enjoy this spot. If you can believe it, it is even more beautiful in person so if you're considering GLL, I recommend driving up to see it. Reviewed on 23-09-2021
Andrea Morocoima(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 28-05-2021 Cannot say enough good about this place. The mountain views behind my wedding photos are absolutely breathtaking and getting married surrounded by so much natural beauty was so romantic. The Lodge has amazing dining and cozy place to stay for guests after the ceremony. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful to make last minute changes to a wedding go effortlessly. We did not have to pack chairs because the venue already has seating in place and the beauty of the wedding site required basically no decorations because WOW those mountains. It was already gorgeous! I would recommend this to any bride who wants incredible mountain views next to luxurious ammenities. Best of both worlds! I will cherish my wedding photos with snow peaked mountains forever Reviewed on 13-08-2021
Ali Heitman(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 03-06-2021 Grand Lake Lodge was the perfect venue for our wedding. What seemed like little hiccups in the COVID wedding process, turned out to be huge blessings that made our day unbelievably wonderful. Having everyone on site for the duration of the day made the details more manageable. Keri did a great job making sure everything was taken care of and welcomed us when arriving. The little things made the biggest difference and were incredibly appreciated. The entire staff was great - friendly and enjoyable to everyone at our wedding. I can't say enough positive things about Grand Lake Lodge. We'll be coming back for many years to celebrate our anniversary. Reviewed on 08-06-2021

Tanya Halloran(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-08-2021 My fiancee and I (very excitedly) drove 2.5 hours to Grand Lake Lodge to talk about details of what is available for our wedding reception. When we arrived a lovely person (she was the best!) took us on a tour of what is available with the wedding package. Unfortunately, it was very clear to us that the person giving the tour had not be prepped on what we actually wanted to see. We had spoken with someone from corporate, Alyssa, about what exactly we were interested in seeing during our visit and what we wanted to talk about. During the tour, what we wanted to see was not offered. When I asked about it she gladly showed us but didn't know anything of the conversations I had with Alyssa. The Monday after the tour I called Alyssa during normal business hours. When I said who I was there was no \"How was your trip up there\" or \"Did you enjoy seeing the place\". There was just silence. After asking her questions about what we had discussed she kept talking about things we had already decided I wasn't interested in. I then explained to her that we had already discussed this and she made it clear she did not remember anything we had already discussed. She said the reason she did not remember was because we had originally spoken in early May and that was too long ago.The space we saw was the Dining Room. The sales rep told us it only seats 32 people and it would be less than $500 to book the whole space. We were hoping to have closer to 35-40 guests and Alyssa had to get back to me about whether the space could fit that many people. After speaking with the venue, Alyssa let me know that since I wasn't having a DJ they could probably fit that many people for us. After seeing the space on Saturday it clearly fit way more than 75 people. The tour guide let us know there may be restrictions in party size due to the kitchen availability (which makes sense unlike what the sales rep told us). Today when I spoke with her she said the Dining Room was not able to be fully rented out. She said she was sorry for MY confusion about this.Overall, I felt like I was not important and my time was not important to this sales rep. From my experience I would not book this place. Weddings are stressful enough - I need to know I can trust the staff to be organized and efficient. From these early interactions it is clear corporate does not understand what is available at this venue. **This is the first negative review I have ever given a place. I really hope the honesty about my experience can help another hopeful bride Reviewed on 16-06-2020

Caroline Cutshall(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-09-2012 This wedding site was absolutely perfect if you're looking for a beautiful and rustic (but not too rustic) mountain wedding. It felt like a dream. Gorgeous mountain and lake views during the ceremony, on-site cabins for guest lodging, and a beautiful reception space -- I couldn't have asked for anything more! The staff were friendly and helpful, and my husband and I have now been back to stay at the lodge for our anniversary weekend every year since our wedding. Britney Bronk(bride)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-06-2019 I realize that the timing of my wedding planning wasn’t ideal but my less than great experience with the events team continued almost no matter who I worked with. I attempted to contract the lodge in the summer of 2018 during the transition of ownership and during a wildfire that required evacuation, however, I rarely received responses even when I followed up multiple times. It didn’t matter if I called or emailed. I was working with someone who must’ve left the company because she stopped responding altogether and it took months to know or receive a new contact. No one ever reached out, I had to track someone down through one of your offices because I couldn’t get ahold of anyone with the lodge being closed for winter. Micaela was the only one who ever responded so I had to include her or I’d never receive a response. An issue would pop up, I would be told it was resolved only to find out later it wasn’t. It was just one frustrating thing after the other. If we hadn’t already planned everything, we would’ve switched venues. A week before our wedding, I was finally contacted and asked to fill out a spreadsheet by the intern. But other than that I never heard from the on-site team until the night before my wedding (again the intern) when I was gathered with guests about to leave for our rehearsal dinner. It was inconvenient and frustrating. They then called me multiple times the day of my wedding when I was trying to get ready. Multiple times I received different answers based on who I spoke to. They were great about offering an alternative location due to weather but I had to ask for it twice for it to be offered. They did offer to have employees direct guests to the ceremony based on weather which was really nice. Five minutes before the ceremony one of my lashes started to fall off so naturally I’m panicking. I ask the manager Alex if she had glue and she replied that she wasn’t a cosmetologist and that she called me multiple times earlier in the day offering help. I felt as though I had to get even more upset and for my maid of honor (who’s a Meeting & Events Manager at a 5 star/diamond resort)to step in before she offered to ask anyone. When she finally offered to ask, she immediately stated that no one would have any. Luckily a sweet girl gave us her eye liner to save the day. The lack of Customer Service was glaring. I was shocked that they didn’t have anything on hand that would actually be helpful to the bride or at least offer to try and help even if you don’t think you can. Brides have enough stress, they don’t need people being rude to them on their wedding day. I had so many issues with vendors that were uncontrollable but the way you treat people is something you can. The rest of the staff at the front desk were beyond fantastic to me and my guests. They helped provide directions when people were lost, resolved duplicate rooms that were erroneously booked by the events team that the events teams never took care of as promised and always made sure we were taken care of.
