Grand view was the perfect mini destination wedding. We wanted a whole weekend experience with our guest to enjoy. The staff was amazing, they helped set up, take down all hands were on deck at all times. Lindsay & Abby are the gvl wedding team and I can't say enough good things about them . Anonymous Anonymous(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 01-06-2021 We very much wanted to have our wedding at Grand View. Unfortunately we've spent over three weeks trying to get information from the team and have not even gotten information back on available dates for summer/fall 2022. I know everyone in the wedding industry is very busy playing catch up from last year, but this is by FAR the worst customer service I've ever gotten from any of the venues we've looked into. I reached out to multiple contacts from the Grand View website by phone and email. We even had someone try and meet in person for us (we're out of state), and nobody could make time for that.I got one call back to tell me that prices will be going up for 2022, but she would need to send me info via email with more on that. She told me she received by email, so there should not have been any way to get my email wrong for a reply. I also reached out again directly by email, and unfortunately that was two whole weeks ago and I have yet to hear back.Sadly, we won't be able to host our wedding at this venue as I cannot plan a wedding without any communication. I hope that they treat their customers better than they treat people inquiring about the location. Reviewed on 03-06-2021

Communication was amazing, they were quick to respond to calls/emails, accommodations went beyond expectations, the venue is simply stunning and you don’t need much decor I felt. The woods and beach were beautiful for pictures and the food was talked about for weeks afterwards. I’m only docking a star because planning with the Grand View wedding staff leading up to the wedding was less than perfect; as the day got closer there was a ton of fine print that was never explained clearly. We also never saw our wedding planner the day of. I would still fully recommend this location to anyone, if for nothing else, the FOOD! Reviewed on 04-10-2019

I recently worked with the Grand View Lodge for a wedding this past weekend. As a wedding planner, I am at a variety of different venues and Grand View has great spaces for photos and it's great for a destination location for family and friends to spend the weekend. The staff was helpful in getting it all put together for the day. I would love to be back at Grand View for a future event! Reviewed on 31-07-2019
Rachel Lundeen(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 12-01-2019 Our wedding day was perfect! Grand View Lodge has that beautifully elegant “lodge in the woods” feel that we were going for. The surroundings are picturesque, the food was amazing, and our guests had fun posting about how nice their accommodations were. :) I’m only docking stars because planning with Grand View staff leading up to the wedding was unnecessarily difficult. Our biggest issues were with the reservations staff and the lack of communication between departments. For example, our room block originally charged HIGHER rates than their normal ones! They eventually fixed it after multiple calls to get it sorted out, but didn’t apologize for the error and it was super complicated to get partial refunds for those who reserved under the wrong rates. We consider ourselves pretty laid back people, but there were several issues like this that just didn’t need to be so complicated. I’d sum up our experience with GVL like this: While the location and atmosphere were top notch, the planning process definitely could have been smoother. Reviewed on 11-07-2019
Kayla Kriesel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-09-2018 Wow. We were blown away by everything from Grand View. Throughout the whole planning process Becky & Jaci were so kind, professional, organized and prompt. I know it's their job to help couples plan a wedding, but they go above and beyond and you can tell they truly care about making your day the best experience for you and your guests. We are so grateful for all they did for us!The property is obviously gorgeous as were all the spaces we used during our weekend. We had a small wedding of 55 guests. We had the ceremony outside at the Grand Staircase which is so beautiful. However, their new Chapel that can be used as a backup location if weather doesn't cooperate looks awesome as well!We had our cocktail hour outside on the lower terrace of the main lodge which we LOVED. We were able to rent yard games for our guests to play, the bar was set up outside and there was a nice fireplace as well. Our dinner/reception was held in the Headwaters Dining room in the lower level of the main lodge. What a perfect space this is for a smaller group. Very elegant and intimate feeling. The staff and food were also awesome! We did all of our catering (including dessert and late night food) through Grand View. Honestly, I feel so lucky we were able to have our wedding here. It was so fun having our friends and family stay for the weekend and everything exceeded our expectations. Even though we had a smaller wedding, we were treated amazingly throughout everything. They were incredibly helpful and were always ready to answer my questions! The information given to us form the start was missing quite a bit of the small details, however they always responded to our emails within 24 hours. Incredibly impressive with how busy they are during wedding season. The flexibility of the venue was so helpful. We wanted a small, family wedding and we were able to make a lot of changes to their suggestions. We always felt we were in charge and we never felt stuck in a corner, or felt we had to do things a certain way. We were so thankful for this! The staircase was a beautiful choice for our small wedding (45 ppl). The social hour on the Lower Terrace was PERFECT. Couches and seats were provided, and the fireplace was a good touch since it ended up being a cold day in July. We chose the Headwaters room for our plated dinner reception because we did not feel as if we needed a dance floor. The room was perfect for our reception especially since we included table games and a couple polaroid cameras to entertain the guests.
