Turn of the Century Mansion in the heart of Denver
The Grant Humphreys Mansion is a historic wedding venue built in 1902 for one of Denver's first Governors. For those yearning for the timeless romance of the old-world beaux art style, this turn-of-the-century estate is a short drive from the city’s lively downtown core, the botanical gardens, and the Denver nightlife scene.
Accommodating up to 200 people, the mansion's elegant indoor and outdoor spaces are ideal for wedding ceremonies and receptions, engagement parties, showers, and rehearsal dinners. Imagine yourself ascending the grand staircase to get ready in one of our luxuriously appointed changing rooms complete with gorgeous natural sunlight.
Host your ceremony in the gorgeously green tree-lined park with the elegance of the mansion as your backdrop. The dining room is ideal for an intimate reception or cocktail hour, adorned with crystal chandeliers and a beautiful vintage piano, tuned to perfection. Graced by couples for over a century, the ballroom’s original dance floor is the perfect place to share your first dance.
Our team strives to anticipate everything you may need for your special day. Choose from our carefully-vetted preferred vendors, including florists, planners, photographers, classical musicians, & DJ's or pick your own! We also have an experienced and talented partnership with a wonderful event planner who would be happy to provide day-of coordination and recommend various layout options.
Preserved for the true romantic, the Grant Humphreys Mansion feels akin to a fairytale, lacking only in talking teacups and enchanted clocks. We humbly invite you to be their guest and take your place in history!
We had an absolutely amazing experience with the Grant-Humphrey Mansion for our wedding. The location was perfect, the price was incredible, and the venue itself was absolutely gorgeous - it provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. Most ceremonies are outside so I wanted to highlight how beautiful and special an indoor ceremony was.The staff was also lovely to work with. Rita and John both dealt with all my concerns and questions with such care and grace and I am so grateful for them. Another plus for this venue how LGBTQ+ friendly this venue was through every step of the process. Weddings are a very gendered industry and it was a breath of fresh air. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a stunning location at a great price. Reviewed on 11-05-2023
Emily Peterson(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 14-05-2022 My husband and I were extremely happy with the Grant-Humphreys for our wedding! We loved that it was easy for our guests to get to, that we got to have our ceremony and cocktail hour outside, and that everything-- from getting ready to the last dance of the night-- could happen in one place. Rita made everything extremely easy to plan (despite two years of pandemic-related delays!) and followed-up after our event to make sure we had everything. We found that this was the best-priced venue in the city and loved that many things (e.g. tables, chairs) were included in the rental price. We were also extremely happy with the caterer that we chose from their preferred list (Relish) and didn't feel constrained by choice on that front, as there were many to choose from. Emily Ingham(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 10-07-2021 John was great to work with – both during the walkthrough and on the day of! This is a beautiful venue that was a fantastic choice for our 115 guests. Lots of options for size and layout based on what you want for your wedding. Really liked that we got married outside and did not have to make guests travel to the reception – it was right downstairs. Bridal suites made it easy to get ready the morning of the event. We ended up booking the venue starting at 2pm so we could relax and have some time prior to the wedding. Lots of rules but they are not ridiculous – they make sense given the age and delicacy of the venue. Really glad we ended up at Grant-Humphreys for our wedding day! Note that you do have a list of caterers you must work with, and you must utilize Butler rents for any rentals – this got expensive, but it was nice that we didn’t have to coordinate number of spoons or number of tablecloths. Follow up on emails if you don’t hear back – they are often busy and may not respond to your request or question until a few weeks later. Really nice that you can put stuff in the downstairs closet after the wedding and pick it up the following week – we had some items that were lost in the shuffle, but got the bulk of our items (centerpieces, mixers, guestbook, favors, etc.) back. All in all, this is a pretty venue that’s relatively inexpensive. You don’t have to spend time or money on decorations because the mansion is already decorated. Would caution against those with weddings of 140-150+ attendees – at 115, the space felt a little small at times. Reviewed on 09-08-2021
Alexandra Kalbli(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 21-09-2019 Grant Humphrey's was a dream for our wedding day. We wanted something affordable, but didn't look like we designed a wedding on a budget and the mansion checked all our boxes. Planning was so easy with Rita and her team. She truly makes sure you feel prepared and taken care of for your big weekend. The staff is fantastic, the space is gorgeous, and the aesthetics make for such a timeless, classy vibe. Guests were so impressed by the space and could not get over how many rooms there were or how historically preserved the space was - it was like having a wedding at a super cool museum. I would 10/10 recommend using Grant Humphrey's if you want a centrally located Denver wedding with a fantastic staff and beautiful aesthetics. Reviewed on 27-09-2019
Amy Grana(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-08-2019 I don’t know where to begin with this venue. They were so professional and so accommodating. It’s a beautiful spot and very charming. Rita is a super cool lady. She knows her stuff. John too! Rita went down to Butler Rents with me and helped me pick out colors. The layout of the space is different, but that’s what gives it character. We married on the West Lawn and it was a hot day, but I honestly didn’t care. It was gorgeous. My guest tell me they had a blast at cocktail hour and later dinner. Make sure to hire Tanner for the piano during the dinner hour. He’s a wonderful musician. The mansion has his contact info. Dancing was downstairs. Yes the ceiling is a little low, but it works. They lifted us in chairs, but were super careful. Also the space is great for a band. Last but not least we hired a day of coordinator. Carson is awesome. Ask for her! She brings a ray of sunshine and knows her stuff. If you are looking for a beautiful, intimate, charming venue then you got it here. I’m a very happy bride! Reviewed on 26-08-2019

We loved being able to use the entire venue the day of and that we were the only wedding on the property. Because every element of our wedding was in a different place in the house, the wedding felt very dynamic and fun, as opposed to the typical reception hall where everything happens in one room. Rita and John were great to work with and they have all of the information for the venue laid out on their site so you don't need to bother them with a million questions! Tiffany Pless(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-07-2015 We were happy with the venue. It is absolutely gorgeous, and allows for a very grand feeling. Makes for really lovely photographs. I love the bridal suite, it was lovely for the hours we spent getting ready before. The ballroom is also way fun for dancing later in the evening. You must pick from their preferred caterers, which I thought would be fine considering there were roughly 18 to choose from. I still found that they were all very pricy. I would only choose this location if you have a flexible budget, or if you have contacted and picked a caterer from their list first. I think we spent twice what we had originally planned (but thats a common deal with weddings) I found out the week before that Lindsay, the mansion representative I had been working with for about 9 months, had left her position. This was a tremendous disappointment. I met the representative for my day only once and didn't see her at all on my wedding day. She completely ignored our rehearsal, and obviously the wedding day itself. That was a pretty big bummer, we were really happy with Lindsay. All in all, I would not have chosen Grant Humphry's if I could do it all again. Reviewed on 22-07-2015

Sarah Goudie(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 31-10-2010 The Grant-Humphreys Mansion is centrally located in downtown Denver and very easy to get to. This facility fit everything we were looking for in a venue: location, decor, ambiance, price and size. We had our wedding on a Sunday, so that of course took down the price by more than $1000, but the price for a Saturday rental is easily comparable to other venues of this size and included tables and chairs for the ceremony and reception. There are some rules with adding decorations as it is a historical society, but easily worked around by using twist ties instead of tape. It has gorgeous crown molding throughout the place, and the grand staircase made for an awesome entrance for us to be announced as husband and wife. My only complaint is that the venue provides a staff member only to lock/unlock the facility and they have no other service to offer during the wedding. The employee that was on our day forgot to put out a parking sign for our guests and quite a few of them spent a considerable amount of time looking for a parking spot. This is why I gave 4 stars for service and value. Reviewed on 17-11-2010
