Be warned, this review comes from a chronic planner/over-thinker. One thing I have learned from my experience planning a wedding is that sometimes it's best to let go and leave it to the professionals. From the jump, we were planning all facets of our celebration, from the venue layout to the cake design. Honestly, probably taking on too much, too quickly. Once we decided upon Granville Inn as our venue, we were able to breathe. Brian Harp, the events and catering manager, was a Godsend. He was constantly there to answer our questions and reassure us that \"he's got a handle on it.\" And boy, did he ever. We were going back and forth, calling and emailing him, and he was always there. On the day of the wedding, Brian had everything ready for us. He even set up EVERYTHING we brought for the reception, letting us focus on the ceremony and photographs. He was very up-front with the pricing and helped plan things financially for us too. Let's talk about the food and the service - OUTSTANDING. We had our ceremony, got our pictures, and headed to the reception. Everything was set up and ready and the food was hot and delicious. All of our guests raved about it! The mood was light and carefree because Brian was overseeing everything. The overall staff was wonderful - friendly, attentive, and genuine. Really, it was everything we could have asked for. For those of you considering Granville Inn to host your wedding, look no further. Trust Brian, trust the process. Thank you, Granville Inn for knocking it out of the park on our special day in ALL facets, and thank you Brian for being the awesome person that you are. We will be back regularly now! I hate to be this person but I noticed there have not been recent reviews and don't want fellow brides experiencing the same thing we did! Let me start by saying that the food, catering staff, and even the location itself is AMAZING for a wedding! Your photos are sure to be beautiful. The lower rating comes from the months of stress leading up to your wedding where you will experience nothing but frustration with this venue, in particular the wedding coordinator. I consider myself a relaxed individual, and had to ask my friends/family if I was going crazy to feel this way, but they agreed it was bad.First of all, he will not answer your emails in a timely manner, and often not at all. He will usually answer phone calls, but he will also not answer your friends/family enquiries or confirm receipt of room confirmation. He is extremely unprofessional and had multiple judgmental comments about things we wanted, made fun of my husband's friend to his face, and said \"he couldn't wait for this to be over\" to my mom and I. In person he will wow you at first, he's a salesperson through and through, but the service he promised did not match our experience. Side note - they overbooked the hotel and I saw various reviews of people getting kicked out to accommodate our room block because they didn't plan well. It was a nightmare even getting the 10 rooms especially for my grandmother who needed something handicap accessible. In short - until they hire a new coordinator, I would not recommend using this location. Reviewed on 11-10-2023
Ray C(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-07-2021 The Granville Inn is THE place to have your wedding in the Columbus area. It's beautiful, both the outdoor ceremony area and the reception hall. It's a hotel, so your guests can party to their heart's content and not have to worry about driving home. It's a restaurant, meaning no extra vendors needed for catering food & drinks (which was amazing). It's in the lovely town of Granville, which has fun drinking and dining locations in walking distance. And not least of all, Jana and Linda are extremely helpful wedding coordinators, who helped us through one of the more difficult times to plan a wedding. Our big day was perfect, and I couldn't picture it happening anywhere else. Reviewed on 03-08-2021
Lynn Cummins(parent)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 18-07-2020 I truly don't have enough words to express my LOVE for The Granville Inn and the amazing ladies that make it all happen!! We just had my daughters wedding on July 18, 2020, it had been postponed from May 23rd due to COVID! This women held our hands and our heart as we made difficult decisions and multiple changes. They were kind, understanding and put my daughter above all else! Fast forward to her perfect Wedding Day! We chose The Granville Inn because it looks like it was ripped straight out of a storybook! We feel in love with Jana and eventually Linda, Ann...etc... We had the whole weekend there, Rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, reception and brunch, while many of our guests spent the whole weekend at the Inn with us! It felt like a destination wedding out of a fairytale. The weekend was GORGEOUS, fun and beautifully executed! These women even became servers for us! I recommend to ever bride, this place and people are pure magic! Thank you again to Jana, Linda, Ann and the rest of the amazing staff! Reviewed on 04-08-2020
Lindsey Brown(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 04-01-2020 The Inn was a beautiful place for my winter wedding. Leading up to the event there were a few changes in event coordinator staff (4 people in 15months) but each change translating my planning information to the next seemlessly. In the final \"mile\" I had a consistent coordinator, Jana, who was outstanding! She responded to emails promptly, incorporated my feedback into charts, menus, and decoration planning. She handled last minute guest-list changes easily. She was present and prepared at the rehearsal and wedding until about 9PM. Jana handed the reigns to another woman (name unknown) who did not have as polite or attentive customer service, but the night went on. Guests loved the ability to walk upstairs at the end of the night. We also paid for valet for those who were traveling after the party. The chef accommodated many food allergies for our guests and allowed me and my husband to special order how our steaks were prepared... which is hard to manage when planning for 100 plates, so we greatly appreciated that!Overall the location was great. The town \"dies\" at 11PM so don't plan on having an after party at a local bar. I managed to convince the night manager to let our noisier after-partiers to use a room in the basement so they'd stop disturbing other guests. This worked out perfectly!Great place for photos, good food with prompt service, many customizable options for the party details. Reviewed on 07-01-2020
Caitlin Prestel(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-12-2018 The Granville Inn staff were absolutely amazing when we had our wedding there. Both my husband and I were only able to visit once prior to the wedding and they were so understanding and extremely helpful coordinating our exact needs for the big day. Everything went just as we had talked about with our coordinator Lynda. She was seriously so helpful and made sure the reception was exactly as we wanted. They allowed me to get ready early in the wedding suite so I wouldn't have to keep moving rooms. Most of my family stayed at the Inn so it was really nice to have everyone under one roof. The reception went perfectly with Lynda assisting the coordination between the DJ, magician, and the baker so we had ample time to spend with guests. We decided to have the steak and salmon and we were so impressed with not only the presentation but how delicious the food was as well. Every guest received a meal that was cooked to perfection and nothing less. The overall staff were fantastic (from concierge to servers to bartenders) and assisted with any problem a guest had. I would highly recommend getting the late night grilled cheeses for the guests those were phenomenal. We had about 125 guests and I wouldn't want to have too many more than that in the room especially if you have guests that really like to dance. The reception area gave the guests a good warm vibe for the entire night. All in all I could not be happier with how the night went and I think you get more than you pay for when you have a wedding at the Granville Inn. Reviewed on 04-01-2019
Anastasia Shonk(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-09-2018 Everyone and everything at the Granville Inn was absolutely perfect!! When people ask how my wedding went, I can truly say \"absolutely perfect\". The venue is gorgeous, and being an Inn is extremely convenient. It has everything there - top gourmet food to serene and stunning suites. The pricing includes everything you could possibly need, and is quite reasonable. The size of their banquet hall (more like an old English Manor with the stone walls) was great for our cozy wedding of 110 guests. The coordinators and banquet manager were all prompt in responding to questions, and made sure to keep us in the loop to have everything covered. The wedding and events coordinator was on top of things, so I didn't have to worry about anything!! The food was seriously scrumptious from presentation to taste. The outside courtyard for the ceremony was just like a fairytale with the cobblestones and the hanging lights above. The Granville Inn will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will be going back again to reminisce for sure (and get some more of that tasty food)! Reviewed on 02-10-2018

Antoinette Harvey(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 15-06-2018 We were looking for a historic venue to have our ceremony and reception. From the moment we walked in to the checking out the day after our wedding, we had the most amazing experience. We chose Granville Inn because the \"all-inclusive package\" was the best value of all the venues we looked at. I didn't have a wedding planner and we had a lot of out-of-town guests, so the fact that they took care of catering and the bar along with a coordinator was a HUGE plus. Daphne and Sarah were so helpful throughout the whole planning process. I stayed the night before in the suite (which I strongly recommend) so I didn't have to move my stuff the day of. There is lots of room to get ready in. Sarah took care of everything the day of and I didn't have to worry about anything, they made sure the day ran smoothly. The food was INCREDIBLE! Everyone loved the hors d'oeuvres, the main course (we did filet and airline chicken), the coffee bar (worth the upgrade!) and the late night snacks. The ceremony space was set up exactly how we discussed and the spaces looked beautiful. They had all our gifts brought up to our room along with the extra cupcakes from the reception. The wait staff and bartender were professional and friendly. We had about 55 people and the space didn't feel too big as they set up everything to make the room look full (it can fit many more). Overall they made my day special and I didn't have to lift a finger. This is a great venue for the bride who doesn't want to DIY and wants to relax and enjoy her big day. And what you get for the money is a huge value, I couldn't have done a DIY wedding for the price we paid for the Inn. This was also a great location for our out-of-town guests to explore with lots of restaurants and stores within walking distance. Reviewed on 12-07-2018

Jill Saunders(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 22-07-2017 We chose Granville Inn for our ceremony and reception because of the charm and delicious food. Both of those rang true through the entire event. I ended up having two surgeries just weeks before the wedding and was unable to lift anything and was iffy on how I could handle the entire day. Thanks to Jana and her staff, my day was flawless and I barely lifted a finger! I did not have a private wedding planner...so Jana did it all for me!The wedding planner, Jana, was great the day of the wedding. She and her staff had EVERYTHING done before I could come down and help! They even put individual batteries in the 30 some flameless candles before I could bring down my batteries after getting hair done.We had a very rainy day, sadly, and I was adamant about having the ceremony in the Courtyard. Jana made sure chairs stayed inside until the last minute. She and her staff got them out and guest seated so quickly we were able to take advantage of the one hour rain-free window! Communication was tough at times before the wedding as the wedding staff and Jana were always out of the office. I was worried and tried to over plan for the day of in case this continued. But Jana and her staff far surpassed my expectations. Reviewed on 24-08-2017

We were able to use several different rooms throughout the Inn for ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and bride and groom prep areas, plus we had a suite overlooking the patio area, which was perfect for watching everyone arrive :) Our coordinator Jana was amazing helping to plan all the details and anticipate all the things we never thought of, never having planned a wedding before ourselves! She and her team handled all the set up, prep, and tear down so all we had to do was bring everything in boxes and take it back with us when we left the next day! They also moved all the wedding gifts plus some champagne and chocolates from the Inn to our room after the ceremony so it was all there when we got back to the room after the reception.
