At Great River Golf Club, we offer a stunning backdrop for your ceremony and reception of your dreams. From our exquisite food and attentive staff to the scenic surroundings, we take great pride in assisting you in making your wedding day all that you envision. Our focus is on you, as we only host one wedding at a time. Exchange vows at our outdoor Gazebo that overlooks the beautifully manicured golf course. In case of inclement weather, there is a back-up ceremony and cocktail hour location, underneath our brick "Breezeway". Great River Golf Club has a high-vaulted ceiling ballroom that provides a guest count up to 180. The expertly landscaped grounds, waterfall, clock tower are other wonderful features that create memorable wedding photographs. Also included is a luxurious bridal room with access for the entire evening and a private grooms room. My husband and I had our wedding reception at Great River Golf Club in October 2023. From the exceptionally well-manicured grounds to the beautiful interior, we absolutely loved GR! Our cocktail hour outside by the fireplace was stunning with the ambience from the twinkle lights, and the ballroom was meticulously set up. From our menu tasting to the actual wedding day food, everything was delicious! Our guests continually commented on the incredible meals they ate as well as the gorgeous views. We were fortunate to have an unusually warm late October day which added to the picturesque fall landscape. Caitlin was especially helpful throughout our planning process and made sure that our day-of ran smoothly. Karin was also a huge help in the early stages and continued to answer our questions as needed. Every call or email was returned promptly and helped to keep things very low-stress. GR exceeded our expectations and we are thrilled to have chosen this as our reception location. Highly recommend!

We cannot stop raving about Great River and how they made our wedding day so special! Leading up to our big day they were always so quick to respond to any inquiries we had and were always so buttoned up. They provided timelines for everything that had to take place leading up to the big day and were always willing to go above and beyond to make our day so special. On our actual wedding day the staff was so attentive and always made sure we (the bride & groom) came first. Even though we had a rainy wedding day they did everything in their power to ensure the day was nothing less of perfect. I would 100% recommend anyone to have their wedding at Great River!

We cannot say enough good things about Great River Golf Club as our wedding venue. Everything about GR was perfect. This place almost seems like a best kept secret! First of all, the ceremony space and reception room are absolutely stunning. The planning process was stress free, as a coordinator is assigned to you and guides the process. The day of the wedding, an attendant is assigned to you as well which ensures that everything goes off without a hitch. The food was so good! All of our guests raved about it- definitely not your standard wedding food. The price is more than fair for what you get! If you are concerned about the fact that it is located on an operating golf course, I would not let that deter you from selecting this venue. It was not noisy with golfers and they were all extremely respectful of the wedding taking place. I did not even notice. I truly cannot recommend GR enough to any future couple! Do yourself a favor and visit this venue, you will fall in love!

We had our wedding reception at Great River in early September and it was the most amazing day. The entire team at Great River is kind, helpful, and professional. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and they handle it all, the food and coordinating with your vendors, and even have relationships with several bakeries to choose your cake from. The whole process couldn’t be smoother, Caitlin is a joy to work with, she answered every question and concern we had. Chef Matt is phenomenal at what he does. From our food tasting to the week of the wedding he made sure every detail was perfect. Our friends and family are still talking about the delicious food a month later! Abby was my bridal concierge and she was so attentive, I didn’t have to worry about a thing except just enjoy our wedding day! The entire team at Great River is incredible. We highly recommend Great River for any special event. They will certainly make it very special and memorable!

Great River Golf Club was the perfect venue. They handle everything from food to cake to day of coordination so we didn't have to worry about a thing! The staff is absolutely amazing and we didn't have a single issue. The food was more gourmet restaurant quality than typical wedding food and their chef personally walked us through the options to customize anything we wanted. There are multiple options for bakeries so finding a cake was super easy and then they handled it from there. For coordination we had multiple people waiting on us to ensue every little detail went smoothly, from bringing us snacks and drinks, to coordinating with outside vendors for us, to decor details, it was all wonderful. I could not recommend Great River more highly!

We had our wedding at Great River on September 30th & everything was perfect. Caitlin was incredible and always available to answer questions throughout our (very long) planning process. She made everything very easy for us, and Abby our wedding day concierge helped to make the day run perfectly smooth. We could not have asked for a better team to work with or a more beautiful venue. The ceremony area is beautiful & there is a backup that is just as lovely in the event of rain. The venue itself is perfect and was able to comfortably fit all of our loved ones and our band! The bridal suite was lovely and they even had a fruit platter waiting for us for when we arrived. Chef Matt was a joy to work with as well and made our menu preview so special -- and all of the food was phenomenal. We also loved that they have contracts with a few different bakeries, we were able to have our dream cake at a great price because of this. I can't say enough good things about this venue and I would recommend it to any couple!!

We loved everything about our experience with the team at Great River. From the first tour of the space with Chelsea, to the day of with Caitlin, Madison & Lucy, to the follow up post event, everyone was kind, professional, and extremely helpful. Our guests loved the dinner and we loved the fact that we could offer four meal options. Don’t sleep on their chicken- it is the best catered chicken I’ve ever had. The coordinators and bridal concierge team handled everything for us including set up, clean up, running the rehearsal, and making sure everyone was where they were supposed to be throughout the day. It absolutely poured all day, and they made the rain locations feel like the original plan. Caitlin kept me calm when things had to change, and Madison & Lucy made sure I was dry and warm during any down time. They even made sure my husband and I had water while we were taking endless pictures! I can’t say enough about Great River.

I got married at Great River on 4/22/23. As soon as I got engaged I knew I had to take a look a Great River and I would not choose a venue until I saw it! Once we saw it, we knew that is where we were getting married and we are so happy with our decision. I can't say enough good things about it! The entire staff was wonderful to work with! I was in good hands and no matter how many questions I asked (there were a lot!) Caitlin always answered. When we had our taste testing we were blown away by Chef Matt, he sat down with us and went over everything with us, one on one. Everyone is still raving about the food! Our bridal concierges were AMAZING! They were so attentive and sweet. On the day of the wedding everything was set up for us exactly how we pictured it. Due to the weather, we had to have the ceremony and cocktail hour in the breezeway, which is a beautiful space. They transformed the ceremony space into cocktail hour in less than 5 minutes and it was flawless! I felt ZERO stress the entire day! We couldn't be happier with choosing Great River!

I can't say enough good things about Great River. They were absolutely wonderful to work with! From beginning to end, working with them was a breeze. After my now husband and I had our initial meeting with them, I went back with my mom a few weeks later and they happily walked us around a second time so that my mom could see everything. I was not expecting that, and it was really nice that they took the time. The coordinator we worked with was great. We emailed her so many times with questions. We had a couple of unique requests, one for the ceremony and one for the reception, and they were happy to accommodate us. They set everything (seating cards, favors, guest book, etc.) up in the banquet room perfectly. It looked so good! I can't say enough good things about our bridal concierge that was with us on the day of from beginning to end. She was absolutely wonderful and so attentive. Their food was amazing as well. We got to taste test a set of food choices ahead of time and they were all really really good. We only heard compliments from our guests regarding the food, including the late night snack we chose. Don't sleep on the late night grilled cheese, I cannot tell you the number of guests that raved about these! At the end of the night they helped pack up any gifts and cards to send home and they happily held on to any decor items until the next day when we could come pick them up. I truly don't think there is one thing that I would have changed about the day, they were flawless!

I can't say enough good things about Great River. They were absolutely wonderful to work with! From beginning to end, working with them was a breeze. I found the Great River Golf Club on the Knot. I went to visit the venue and booked it immediately for my future daughter in law’s bridal shower. The staff, food and help I got to plan it was terrific! I would highly recommend for any special occasion!! It was beautiful!! Everyone loved it!!

We had a winter wedding and great River provided so many “extras” to help decorate! I also really appreciated the vendor list we received when we booked our venue, that was so helpful! I would recommend this venue to anyone!

I researched so many venues but once I found Great River I was sold just by the package alone before ever seeing the venue. So 3 weeks after getting engaged we toured Great River Golf Club, and I didn’t need to see anything else. Ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in the same place and it’s a gorgeous venue. Once we booked our date, I got to planning for 2 years, Gail was wonderful to work with throughout the beginning of our process and I couldn’t be more grateful, then this year we started working with Caitlin as our Wedding Coordinator. Caitlin not only answered all my crazy questions and emails, she gave me valuable suggestions that truly helped me plan our day. Once we had our final meeting with Caitlin and Madison, I never have felt more at ease, I knew our wedding would be amazing because of how comfortable they made us feel. Our wedding day was the most magical, perfect day of our lives. From the moment I got to Great River Madison and Caitlin were on top of everything ensuring our day went off without a hitch, and boy did it! We are still receiving compliments about how our wedding was the best. Madison even gave me a sneak peak of our ballroom decorated so I could see my vision come to life before everyone sat down. The food was incredible, the service was amazing, and the venue itself was breathtaking. I can’t thank everyone at Great River enough for the past 2 years of planning and for the best day of our lives!

My husband and I got engaged in October 2020. We knew we wanted to book our venue quickly since everything was so uncertain due to the pandemic, we were looking at 2 years out to try to have a “normal” wedding. Our wedding day & rehearsal dinner were truly perfect thanks to an amazing team at Great River! From the planning process to the day of, the event team was available to answer all of our questions and guide us through every step. Our menu tasting was such a special experience with the chef and the food was outstanding; some of the best we've had! Our meals the day of tasted exactly like they did during the tasting and the service was exceptional! We also had our rehearsal dinner at Monty's River Grille with a pre-set menu that we selected with the team. The food, again, was amazing; even our foodie family was raving about how delicious everything was and how big the portions were! I can't recommend Great River enough for their outstanding service, food & amazing event team!!

Chelsea was so helpful throughout the entire planning process and was super communicative and was there to answer all my questions. On the big day, as soon as I got to the venue, Chelsea and Caitlin took over and I felt at ease and immediately less stressed. Caitlin helped me with my dress and bouquet throughout the night and was super attentive. She even brought us some snacks from cocktail hour while we were finishing up photos to make sure we got to eat. I had the best experience with this venue, they were on their game with everything. From our wedding menu tasting, and after meeting with the chef, we knew the food would be incredible - and we were right. From the moment we stepped foot into Great River, we knew that it was the venue for us, so much so that we cancelled other tours afterwards. We absolutely fell in love with the venue, especially the outdoor/indoor options. We worked with Chelsea throughout the entire process and she was amazing. She answered every question, reached out when needed and always made us feel secure and that she was thinking about everything we would possibly need. The team made our wedding day perfect. Chelsea and Carly are as helpful as it gets and hustled all day! Even our photographer commented how most venues are not as involved and diligent in making sure every detail goes as planned. We had food, drinks, and everything we needed all evening. We even had some last minute weather and they handled everything we need and adjusted on the fly to move our cocktail hour to the breezeway. It was so seamless that no one even knew it was a last second switch. The bridal suite/ groom's room were perfect and an ideal drop off spot for our extra items and everything was there for us the next day - a great help not to worry about it the night of. And the FOOD was amazing! Our tasting with Matt a few months prior was one of our favorite days and the food tasting every bit as good on the wedding day. Many guests told us it was the best wedding food they've ever had. We could not be any happier with Chelsea, Carly and the entire team at Great River and would recommend this venue to anyone!

Carly ensured that our day felt seamless.The Ceremony started a little late (not Great River’s fault), and once it was over, we opted to take extra family photos during Cocktail Hour. Unfortunately, the photos took longer than expected to round everybody up (not our photographer or Great River’s fault). Afterwards, we bustled my dress. By the time everything was finished, we missed just about all of Cocktail Hour. Had we realized this would be the case, we would have asked for Cocktail Hour food in the bridal suite – just something to consider if the day’s schedule starts slipping.I requested some décor repurposing, which Great River took care of beautifully – reusing the gazebo spray from our Ceremony on our sweetheart table, and also using one of the bridesmaid bouquets to add flowers to the cake. Both came out perfect and made us so happy!For dinner, my husband requested a lobster tail with his meal and ended up being served an entire lobster! To say we were shocked was an understatement. It was totally unexpected and such a nice surprise! Carly made sure that we were fed and had drinks throughout the entire evening, including our dessert.We were really looking forward to the donut wall, which we raved to everyone about, but it was kind of disheartening that our flavors weren’t there. We requested and confirmed that we would have apple cider, glazed, chocolate frosted with sprinkles, Boston cream, and jelly donuts, but ended up with chocolate and vanilla cake donuts with pink and green frosting. We’re not sure what happened, but our guests didn’t notice and enjoyed the donuts, so we were happy that they didn’t realize.Lastly, we opted for the late night bite of French fries, which was a huge hit! The cheese sauce was delicious and it was a nice way to end the night.At the end of the day, we had the exact wedding we wanted, our guests had a fantastic time, and for that, we are so grateful to Great River! Everyone has been saying how incredible of a time they had, which makes us so happy!

We got married at GRGC on April 23rd, 2022 and it is a day we will never forget. I appreciate Caitlin and Lisanne beyond words. The month leading to our wedding was hectic, but Caitlin was always so speedy on her responses and had the answers to all of my questions. When rehearsal day came around, both Caitlin and Lisanne were rock stars! There wasn't an event the day before so I was able to walk around the ballroom, bring all our decorations into the bridal suite and walk through my vision with Caitlin and Lisanne. I could feel their excited energy which made me even more excited about the big day! Our wedding day was pretty much flawless, all thanks to our team of wonderful women. They kept our timeline on time, were always there for any questions we had, and both truly made the evening perfect. For example, I noticed a few guests getting warm on the dance floor so I asked if we could get the doors propped open to cool off the room, two seconds later the room cooled down. Caitlin and Lisanne were SO attentive, kind, supportive, and truly amazing. There aren't words to truly describe how they made me feel on my wedding day. My husband and I had one goal, to have fun (and get married of course). We wanted everyone around us to have a good time and enjoy themselves. Caitlin and Lisanne helped us reach our goal. I should also mention, the food at Great River is SO GOOD! Our food tasting was unreal and the day-of was even better. The guests commented on how amazing all the appetizers were at cocktail hour and how delicious the entrees were. If I were to do my wedding again, I would do nothing different. Great River Golf Club was the PERFECT venue. Thank you, Lisanne & Caitlin!!!

In fact, all of the servers were courteous and provided impeccable service -- including the bartenders who were top notch! The food was outstanding. The presentation was perfect and we received rave reviews from our guests about all of the entrees. Please extend our highest compliments to Chef Matt. We were extremely pleased with the food. Honestly, it was the best food we’ve ever had at any wedding.Many of our guests also remarked about how beautiful the venue was, made even more so by the holiday decorations. We were immediately blown away by the grounds when we first toured great river. In addition to be extremely well kept, there were so many different areas that offered different scenery for us to take advantage of. The building itself was beautiful and had an elegant feel but still fit within a reasonable price range (and was even lower than some places we had toured and did not consider to be as nice). The ballroom had a unique layout that allowed us to feel like we were close to all of the guests, rather than being too far spread out. The great river staff was professional, accommodating, flexible and reliable from the first time we had worked with them, which is one reason we felt comfortable choosing them to host our special day. When it came to the wedding day, they were proactive and kept everything moving and flowing nicely allowing us to focus on all of the other things going on that day. There were even some last minute changes that they handled gracefully, which we are really grateful for. The Great River staff even went above and beyond on the day of the wedding and provided some package add-ons at no charge to us. To this day, it means the world when we hear how much our guest enjoyed our wedding and we know none of this would have been possible without the exemplary work of Great River. Anyone looking for a venue in this area should consider them at the top of their list.

We had the most perfect wedding day at Great River on 10/15/21. From the start, all of the staff at GR was extremely helpful, enthusiastic, and kind. She made sure our wedding day at GR was fun and went according to plan. She did it all, from carrying my train to making sure my drink was never empty. Chef Matt also did not disappoint. Our tasting was one of our favorite parts of wedding planning. We heard from all of our guests just how great the food at cocktail hour and dinner was. We were lucky to have great weather and have our ceremony at the gazebo however, we would have been just as happy to have the ceremony in the breezeway if the weather didn’t cooperate. Having a second ceremony location that was still outdoors was a huge selling point for us. The bridal suite was beautiful and my bridesmaids were excited to see champagne and fruit waiting for us. The groom and his groomsmen also had a great spot to hang in with beer on ice ready for them. The layout of the course has so many opportunities for great pictures, no matter the time of year. We would plan our wedding here one thousand times over again if we had to. Thank you GR for a day we will never forget!

Julianne was my right hand, she was always there, doing everything she could to help me and made sure I was as comfortable as I could be. She truly went above and beyond for us! Steve and I couldn’t be happier to have had our wedding at Great River. It was absolutely beautiful there and the food and drinks were delicious. Everyone at Great River was very accommodating. Any changes we made, Gail was on top of it. Truly a 5 star experience!

The event coordinator, Gail, was great to work with. She kept us up to date on the guidelines and our options as she knew them.The bridal concierges Lisanne and Carly were amazing. They took care of me all day. Great River worked with us every step of the way. Shortly before our wedding, the numbers of guests had to be lowered per state restrictions. The team at GR came up with innovative and creative ways so we could still have a wedding that are our guests could safely enjoy. The team also worked so incredibly hard to decorate the entire venue for Christmas in ONE AND HALF short days. It was absolutely stunning. Our guests still rave about the venue, the decor, the food, and just the overall atmosphere. We loved doing our first look photographs at various locations on the gorgeous grounds including the amazing waterfall that was still running at the end of November. We were extremely lucky to have a gorgeous weather day. Thank you EVERYONE for providing Kevin and I with a wedding during a global pandemic that was safe and fun for everyone in attendance including your own dedicated staff members.

My husband and I got married here on 10/30/2020 in the middle of a pandemic... with temperatures lower than they had been...it rained, it snowed ... anything you could think of. But the amazing and wonderful people at Great River made it the most memorable day of our lives. To start, we booked Great River before the pandemic, and when things started to get bad, we wondered what we would do about the wedding. Luckily, when things started to change and look up here in Connecticut, Great River told us that they would be getting a tent to continue to safely host weddings and other events. We were so excited that our wedding was still on! They worked with us from start to finish on food tasting, cake tasting, rehearsal dinner planning and were so helpful, especially during this time of uncertainty. Of course, as I mentioned, the day before the wedding, heavy rains caused the tent to flood, but again the people at Great River worked with us to safely move everything into the ballroom. Every guest had their temperatures checked upon entry to ensure peace of mind as well as to keep everyone healthy and safe. A week has passed since the wedding and everyone is still talking about it, still sending each other pictures and still reminiscing about the wonderful moments we all shared together. Not to mention the AMAZING food. Everyone can't stop raving about how good the food was! If you want to have a memorable, relaxed, fun and overall wonderful wedding experience I cannot recommend Great River Golf Club enough!!

We could not be more happy that we chose Great River Golf Club for our September 2020 Wedding. We knew within the first minutes of our initial tour that not only was GRGC a beautiful and perfect wedding location, but that Gail, Erin and all of the GRGC staff were friendly and dedicated. We booked GRGC in the fall of 2019, pre-covid. Once covid hit, as many 2020 couple felt, we were overwhelmed and nervous. However, Gail & Erin worked closely with us from March to our wedding date to make sure we always knew the latest guidelines, felt comfortable and were able to make needed accommodations. Our plans for the day changed many times, and throughout the process, the GRGC team was there to support us and make our vision a reality. A great example is a month before our wedding our photographer backed out, Gail recommended alternatives for us, and we booked a new photographer within days. We already have our photos and love them! Another example is 2 weeks before our wedding, we had to cancel our rehearsal dinner location due to covid restrictions. GRGC was able to host our rehearsal dinner with a private room and custom menu! With all of the last minute changes & covid restrictions, we are so grateful to say that on September 12, 2020 we had our perfect wedding, on our original date and it was even more beautiful and perfect then we ever could have imagined. The food was terrific (thank you Chef Matt & team), the requested drinks were available and delicious (Thank you Dan & team), the grounds were beautiful and more importantly our family and friends felt safe and welcome. Thank you to the whole GRGC team for making our day perfect. We recommend GRGC to couples looking for a beautiful location with a dedicated team that will support them and make their special day custom and perfect!

We just had our wedding two weeks ago at Great River Golf Club and all we can say is that it stunning. From the first time we met Gail just after we got engaged, she was so welcoming, never pushed GR on us and gave us time to make our decision, and it was pretty easy with that scenery! Throughout the wedding planning process, even with the pandemic, Gail always kept us in the loop and on schedule, she gave us the option to reschedule but support us to continue moving forward and introduced us to Erin. Erin was always attentive with emails, responding to simple questions we had, and made sure we had a great time and to EAT on our wedding night. Chelsea another team member was awesome and took some amazing pictures of our decor and set up as so many brides take so much time planning the intimate details. During our meal tasting, Chef Matt came out to introduce himself, learned about us as a couple and made special touches to bring our Irish heritage out. Several of our guest said “they wanted a straw for the Guinness Demi sauce to suck it up, it was that good” that was served with the steak. Everyone of the guests that we have spoken with have raved about the food, and the amazing service of the staff, especially during cocktail hour. It was truly an unbelievable day and as a bride and groom we never worried once about our guests and if they would be taken care of. If we had to redo it all over again, we would always choose Great River!

We just got married a month ago. We honestly could not have made a better decision to have our wedding at Great River Country Club. The whole venue is absolutely gorgeous and Gail, Erin, Lusanne and Dan were amazing! They took care of everything! My wedding day was so easy to deal with knowing I had them behind me. Everyone is still raving about the food, the service and the beauty of the place. We can not thank everyone at Great River enough!

My husband and I got married at Great River on September 14, 2019. When we were searching venues, it was most important for us to work with an accommodating staff. The entire staff at Great River exceeded our expectations with every single element of planning for our wedding. They were professional, patient, flexible, responsive and kind throughout planning into the big day. We worked with Gail and Erin throughout the whole process and Gail, Erin and Lisanne on the big day. We didn't have a wedding planner ahead of the wedding day, so having Lisanne as our day-of wedding coordinator was such a lifesaver. The whole staff had smiles on their faces the whole day and made us feel so relaxed and happy. We didn't have to worry about a thing except enjoy our wedding day and they did so much solving behind the scenes that made everything look flawless. We can't recommend this place enough. The food had such high reviews from all of our guests, their management with the vendors was seamless and they were buttoned up and always available to answer all of our questions since Day 1.

My husband and I got married at Great River Golf Course on August 31, 2019. I can not recommend this venue enough!!!!! - not only for the incredible scenery, but also because both Gail and Erin made our planning process and entire wedding day seamless and worry free. Gail answered my emails within hours, sometimes minutes, throughout the whole planning process and Erin made sure I was smiling and happy from start to finish on our big day. One of the best things about Great River is the brick breezeway because, unlike most other venues, it acts as an outdoor backup for unfortunate rainy wedding days. We thankfully didn’t have to use it, and got married at the gazebo, but you can still get married outside if it rains under the breezeway and not have to use the reception ballroom as both... we found that very unique and really important. GR is also relatively affordable compared to other venues in the area. Overall I would strongly recommend Great River as a wedding venue.

Where do I even begin…My (now) husband and I had our wedding reception at Great River Golf Club this summer— we cannot thank the staff enough!! From the first meetings to the sparkler sendoff they fulfilled all of our expectations, plus more! Gail, Erin and Julianne made us feel completely comfortable and did whatever it took to make us feel stress-free and at ease. They went above and BEYOND to take care of all of our needs and wants. Their level of professionalism is outstanding - from the early days of planning to the execution of the event, they never once failed to accommodate. The day of the wedding Julianne ensured that I ate, stayed hydrated, fixed my dress & makeup during the photo shoot and even helped put on the heel stoppers on my shoes to ensure I wouldn’t damage them as I walked through the grass. My favorite drink is a lychee martini and although they had never heard of this drink, they researched and were able to make quite a delicious lychee martini on the day of the wedding—these ladies know customer satisfaction! The space is incredible, and they nailed our vision in every way (even surprised us with the chairs I wanted). The FOOD...AMAZING. All of our guests commented about how delicious the food was, and how they couldn't get enough of it. They raved about how attentive the staff were. Our friends and family also couldn't believe how smoothly everything ran. This proved how incredibly well the entire team works together to ensure that every moment of the day ran seamlessly. We can't thank the team enough for the time and effort they put into making this truly, the best day ever!!

I literally cannot day enough about Great River. They made all my wedding dreams come true. Gail, Erin, and the team made sure my wedding was everything I wanted and more. I did not have to worry the day of they set up everything for us. They treated me like a princess. The grounds itself are so beautiful it’s breath taking. My guests couldn’t stop talking about the wedding as a whole on how amazing it was. The food was great and the bartenders were also amazing making sure there were no lines waiting for a drink. If I was to do my wedding all over again I would not change the venue.

Our wedding at Great River was absolutely beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous and our guests commented all night about how beautiful it was there. They also have a great backup rain option under their breezeway which is one of the reasons we chose the venue (so many places only have the ballroom as your backup option). It was also one of the more affordable venue options we found that had food and open bar included! Gail, Lisanne and Erin were all amazing to work with and truly know what they’re doing. My daughter and son in law were recently married and had their wedding reception at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, CT (Nov. 2018). It was wonderful! As the parents of the bride my husband and I can't say enough about the staff. The wedding coordinators, Gail, Lissane and Erin met every one of my daughter's and her husband's expectations! The weather was iffy, but Gail had everything in control and we were able to have the wedding outside as planned. We had to shift the cocktail reception to an inside bar, but the guests and the cocktail service went on as planned. We only experienced one minor glitch, with a table being exchanged and 4 guests having to be seated at another table, but that was a very minor issue. From the moment our daughter and her finance met with Gail in January to start planning their wedding, she was responsive and guided them thru every step. That attention to detail showed on the day of the rehersal and on the day of the wedding. Lissane and Erin were so efficient, and caring to the bridal party and even helped to calm us down! We loved the fact that the kid's wedding was the only one during their day...we didn't feel rushed. I didn't hear one negative comment about food, cocktail service or waitstaff service from any of our guests! They coordinated the outside vendors , provided a bridal room and kept on asking us during the wedding if there was anything else they could do. Just amazing support and care to make theWe would certainly recommend The Great River Golf Club for your wedding event. Thank you everyone for making their day the fairy tale wedding they wanted.

The banquet hall was an exquisite place to hold our ceremony and reception. We had to have our ceremony inside because of the rain, but it was so beautiful that we wouldn't have done it any other way. We were married at the Great River Golf Club on June 30 of this year. It was absolutely perfect and exceeded all of our expectations! The grounds are beautiful; the ceremony at the gazebo was romantic; the cocktail hour on the outside patio was fun, and the reception for dinner was spacious for our 100+ guests with a band. The food was superb, and perhaps the best wedding food that I have had (we had a barbecue with baby back ribs, southwestern chicken and salmon). I'm still receiving compliments about how much people liked it. And last, but not least, the support staff was terrific. Gail handled all the details perfectly, and Julianne (our concierge for the evening) went out of her way to make sure the night went smoothly, always with a smile. Everyone loved her! I highly recommend Great River for a wedding or other special occasion.

Our ceremony [in the ballroom] and reception were at Great River and the whole staff went above and beyond to make the whole night perfect. The staff was the best and most helpful. Gail and Lisanne made the entire planning process and day of, stress free! Everything about my wedding at Great River Golf Club was perfect...Gail was always quick to respond to all of my questions and concerns leading up to the big day, and Lisanne was an AMAZING bridal attendant. She was so attentive, always helping me with my dress while we were out on the grounds for pictures (and traipsing through tall grass for some beautiful shots!) and even having the bartender make up a special cocktail for me when I couldn't decide what to drink (which turned out to be a huge hit with my guests). The staff did a great job decorating the ballroom. We had our cocktail hour on the back patio, which was sooo beautiful! They set it up with umbrella-covered tables as well as couches around the outdoor fireplace. It was such a cozy setting surrounded by the beauty of the golf course. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!

We had our ceremony and reception at GRGC in July. The staff was great, and on our wedding day they took care of everything! My bridal attendant was awesome and made sure I was happy every step of the day. The food was delicious and everyone could not stop talking about what a great time they had!

I was married at Great River in June and could not be happier with the venue, food, and service I received. Gail, who was my contact leading up to the wedding, was extremely responsive and accommodating. They were able to modify the menu to fit our needs and even ordered special items for the bar for our signature cocktails that they wouldn't normally carry. Julianne, my bridal concierge, was more helpful than I could have imagined. Everything ran smoothly and they were in touch with all of my vendors ahead of time to take some of that stress off me. The whole team is courteous and capable, they even helped repair my mother's shoe when it broke. This was an all-around wonderful experience and I would highly recommend working with Great River for your wedding or event.

We loved Great River from the start. It is a gorgeous venue and the grounds are pristine. We hit a few hiccups when they were bought out by Sacred Heart including a rescheduled tasting several times. There was very little room for negotiating, but once the day of hit it was all we expected and more. Lindsay is extremely organized and didn't miss a detail. Lisanne was SO attentive and helpful throughout our time there and made sure we had everything we needed at our fingertips. Food was delicious and the late night fries amazing! Thank you Lindsay and Lisanne for an amazing and memorable night!

We did host our cocktail hour at Monty's and would recommend doing so. For the money, it is well worth it. Guests were happy to be able to sit outside to enjoy cocktail hour with the beautiful views. We received so many compliments about our day, many guests commented that it was one of the best weddings they ever attended.

Lindsay was amazing to deal with! She was always available to answer our questions and was so helpful. The day of the wedding, we were also given a bridal concierge named Wan who was also so great to us. Both Lindsay and Wan (and the entire staff at Great River) went above and beyond to make our day perfect. The venue is also beautiful and Lindsey and her team worked so hard to get everything set up for us and it came out EXACTLY like we pictured. Our guests loved the food, the scenery and really the entirety of what Great River has to offer. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a top notch wedding venue with staff that go above and beyond all expectations to make your day perfect.

Thank you to Lindsay and the staff of Great River for holding our hands and making this amazing day possible. Everything turned out even better than our dreams, absolutely no fault on the bridal concierge or Lindsay's service. If something didn't go as planned, we had no idea. It was an amazing day and I would host my wedding again in a heartbeat at Great River and not change a single thing. Also if you can afford it, rent out Monty's for the cocktail hour!! Just added an element of elegance to the entire evening. We ended up with a smaller number than expected (80 guests) and the room looked perfect. Thanks again!! Colleen and Marco Waiz
