Situated on a secluded 120 acre site yet conveniently located in Waterford, WI only 30 minutes from Downtown, Halverson House combines the historical charm with the comfort of today’s modern amenities. The formal gardens and picturesque pond & fountain complement it’s still farmed agricultural land, wooded areas to set the background for your magical day. Additionally the 1910 Victorian Mansion radiates stately luxury in exquisite architectural details, and a full bridal suite. The multi-level granary or grooms quarters is complete with game tables and lounge area, while the fully restored 1840’s post beam construction barn pairs historic detail with all of today’s most comfortable conveniences. Rentals also include our custom built farmhouse tables (as well as all additional tables and chairs). Halverson House is more than just a ‘day of’ event venue instead it is a way of life that caters to families as they come together to celebrate what being a family, new or old, truly means. We believes in “comfortable elegance” which isn’t simply a tagline, but instead a standard throughout all that is offered. Comfortable Elegance” means a stress free experience for you and your guests as you retreat into the luxury of the historic oasis to celebrate your memorable day. Where at other venues a wedding couple is required to perform a rushed day of set up, or strenuous tear down at the end of their event that inevitably turns into tears or at least exhaustion, we believe that worrying about those details on the day of your event keeps you from truly enjoying your once in a lifetime experience. That is why Halverson House INCLUDES a day of wedding coordinator to handle the operations of your day as well as set up and tear down of your event (including your decor) by Halverson House staff. For the most comfortable and elegant experience Halverson House offers a “wedding weekend” package that allows you and your guests to retreat into the elegance of the home, guest rooms, gardens and grounds for the entire weekend. Joi and Mike are the best! They were super helpful throughout the whole process. It happened to be rainy for both of our wedding days and they were very flexible, especially with the last minute changes. They had everything timed perfectly and had great suggestions even for things I never thought of. I would highly recommend the Halverson House for your special day! Joi, Mike, and staff were professional and amazing to work with!

Halverson House is the best place to host your event! We recently rented the venue for our wedding and they made the process so easy! The communication throughout the whole planning process is amazing. We live out of the state and the staff took the time to make sure everything was set how we wanted it. They were so flexible throughout the planning process. They made the day of so smooth and were there to help with everything. The food for the brunch and dinner was wonderful! The assistance with set up and take down made the day much less stressful with us! We had so many family/friends rave about the food and how beautiful the venue was! We are so happy we chose to celebrate at the Halverson House!

Halverson House is an extraordinarily beautiful venue. We got married here in August. There are so many incredible picturesque spots for photography, including the Victorian house where the bride and bridesmaids typically get ready, the Granary, where the Groom and his side typically get ready, the gorgeous grounds, and of course, the historic barn. The staff is very responsive and helpful, and Joi provides day-of coordinating that helped everything move along very smoothly. It was pretty much a hassle-free day with all the work she and the rest of the staff put in. All of our guests were so impressed with the grounds, the barn, and the staff. There's a little bit of something for everyone, including the option for outdoor yard games, a fire pit, and so much more. Their in-house catering was incredible, and our friends and family have been raving about the taco bar and late night pizzas. We couldn't have hoped for a more perfect day in a more perfect place.

Being a former wedding planner, turned wedding and family photographer, I am EXTREMELY PICKY when it comes to working with venues and vendors. The Halverson House staff are on it. Not only on the day of, but, they send an advance to the vendors to ensure they know exactly what will transpire for the wedding day.The coordinator checks in with you, ensures that you are doing okay and really cares about their venue. AND, I can honestly say it was some of THE BEST wedding dinner's I've ever had. I never know what to expect when I have a dinner at a wedding, and BOY-O-BOY did their food exceed my expectations. From the very first bite, I was hooked.Overall, if you are looking for a professional staff and a wonderful barn venue, you have found the place.

Getting married at The Halverson House was a phenomenal experience, start to finish. Joi and her staff were extremely professional and prepared, and you could tell based on how smoothly everything went. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the facilities were, and how all of the \"little things\" were taken care of. Everything from the table setups to the barn decor to the heat in the barn helped our guests have a fantastic time. If you can afford it, we highly recommend the \"wedding weekend\" package, so that you can relax and be on site the whole weekend. We can't thank Joi and the Halverson House staff enough for everything they did to make our special day amazing!

Last weekend my son was married at the Halverson House. The wedding, (rehearsal, ceremony, and reception), from a parent's view, could have not been better. The facility is beautiful and 'warming', but the staff, (owners to waitstaff) goes well beyond that. Very, very accommodating without making it seem to be a job. I can promise that you will not feel like a customer, but one of Mike and Joi's favorite family members.

It's a place defined by love and run by the Alex family, the most amazing and caring group of people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. What they have done is created a venue that deserves more than the word \"venue\" implies because it's so much more than that. It's an oasis, a haven, something you might only imagine in your dreams. The Alex family is continually investing in the space because every time we came for a visit there was something new: hand-made farm tables, sitting areas, audio systems, a community garden, fresh flowers, you name it. Beyond the property's breathtaking physical features, are the people at the heart of what makes Halverson House the place-of-choice for any couple or family looking to celebrate. The Alex family makes you feel at home every time you set foot on the property. Everyone at our wedding kept comparing the place to a movie, or novel or fairytale. I promise it's not too good to be true. It is very real. Joi and her family have a gift and they're using that gift to bring love and happiness to couples like my husband and I. At every turn, the Alex family anticipated our every need. When the reception was over, we returned to the house to find everything was immaculate. Somehow, I swear as if by magic, everything had been perfectly cleaned and prepared for us. The next morning we awoke to the smell of homemade quiches and baked french toast. All of our decor pieces were already packed up and waiting for us in the barn. It was all so seamless. I think people use the word priceless too often when describing weddings. We spoke with other vendors who tossed around phrases like \"this is the single most important day\" and \"you only get to do this once.\" But what Halverson House did was great a one-of-a-kind experience that will live on and be a part of our lives for years to come, because we plan on returning to Halverson House for our anniversaries, for family celebrations, and whenever they host events because they're worth it. Every inch of the property has been crafted with care. They're the people you want in your lives. What they've created you simply cannot put a price tag on.

Halverson House was the perfect choice for our wedding day! The property is beautiful and perfect for pictures. Joi was amazing to work with and really made sure we had a perfect day. When my husband and I stumbled across Halverson House and set up a tour, the instant we pulled in the drive we were blown away by the beauty and overall comfort of what this place has to offer. I remember stepping out of the car and instantly getting goosebumps stunned by all the beautiful scenery. Joi, Mike & their amazing family & staff made us feel like part of the family right away. They made sure every single detail of our wedding was perfect, and we cannot thank them enough because our day was nothing less than that. The entire day was completely stress-free! They truly care about you, and their passion for bringing families together is just so amazing. They have created an absolute gorgeous venue and have worked so hard for this. We seriously cannot thank you all enough, for all your hard work and love. If you are looking for a place to get married, THIS IS THE PLACE people! To say that Halverson House was a perfect fit is an understatement. My wife and I had been looking for a barn to host our Wedding. We search endlessly for beautiful venue that worked for us and met our needs. The Alex’s who run the Halverson House are pleasant to work with and extremely flexible. We saw their hard work and dedication first hand because we followed their journey as they constructed the venue, following their dream. When we first met them, there was little more than a beautiful, historic house and some run down farm buildings. They talked through their vision with us, and we decided they were the right fit. They held true to their word and did everything in their power to make the wedding a perfect event. When they talk about comfortably elegance, as they put it, they truly mean that they are investing themselves in your event, and are willing to go above and beyond to make sure your wedding goes smoothly and according to plan, while also releasing the stress from you on that special day. From the moment you arrive on your wedding day you given a comfortable space, brides maids and grooms men each having their own building. Brunch is prepared for the wedding parties when they arrive, so there is no worrying about what to eat on that day. That is just one example of how the Alex’s truly put your comfort first. They also provide a skilled wedding coordinator that will take the rest of the stress from you on that day. You will be able to enjoy the moment and truly immerse yourself in your wedding. When we first looked at the Halverson House they were in the beginning stages of remodeling their amazing barn and property. Talking with the owners we knew it would be a wonderful and beautiful place to have our wedding, as their vision was amazing and we knew they would get it perfect. Our wedding was in July of 2020 so we had many changes due to covid 19 and all the changing rules, through all of that they were very communicative about any changes and potential issues so everyone was on the same page. The owners are such friendly, open, caring people, and it was a joy to go through the process with them. They were always willing to answer any questions or concerns we had throughout the entire process, especially in the last month. We called them so many times in the last weeks, and even the couple days before and they were always happy to answer whatever last minute question we had. They made our day wonderful and go smoothly. Everything about the venue was gorgeous and so comfortable and fun! They had everything they said for the day of, setting up the outdoor ceremony, setting up the tables how we picked to arrange, putting out the decor we got, having a great space for the guys and the girls to get ready separately, and they had an amazing brunch for the wedding party that morning. I am so happy we chose to have our wedding there and that it all came together wonderfully with their help. They had so many perfect places to take pictures, as their whole venue looked wonderful. I would recommend this to anyone getting married, they were so great to work with and they have such an elegant, comfortable and wonderful venue!

Meet the Halverson House Team
We joke that we were born a hundred years too late, enjoying staring at a sunset, over a screen, or valuing how a meal makes it to our table over the convenience of it being passed through a window. As self-proclaimed foodies, we appreciate knowing where our food comes from, how it is prepared and eating outstanding food as well as interacting with everyone involved along the way. In a day and age where true face time has been replaced with screen time, we appreciate the value of personal relationships. It's these values that we want to instill within our own family as we serve others together
