The Harn Homestead Museum is a wedding venue with 10 landscaped acres situated in Oklahoma City.
We are conveniently located on Lincoln Blvd between OU Med Center and the Capitol.
There are several outdoor ceremony sites, including many trees, paths, lawns, a gazebo, and a view of the State Capitol Building and Devon Tower.
Our beautiful 3000 sq. ft. event barn with loft is perfect for all your indoor needs.
If you love natural beauty, we have things blooming almost year-round, roses, goldenrod, autumn Clematis, and cannas, just to name a few. We have recently expanded our orchard to include apple, peach, cherry, and pear trees.
Fall weddings are gorgeous, with an abundance of trees changing colors.
Not including the event barn, The Harn Homestead Museum has 6 historic buildings on the property that you are welcome to use as a backdrop for photos.
Two of the historic buildings are used for dressing areas. One is our historic farmhouse, the other is in our Harn House, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places. You are welcome to take photos in the interior of these two buildings.
Christina Reed(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 13-06-2020 The Harn Homestead was exactly what my husband and I were looking for. Kelly, the event director, was so sweet and helpful. She answered all of my questions and kept me informed about any changes that were happening due to Covid-19. When we had to change our wedding date, she was quick to find us a new date that worked for us. The venue was gorgeous and the barn looked western but also formal and beautiful. We loved being able to dance on the floor and not have to rent a dance floor. I definitely recommend working with the Harn Homestead! Reviewed on 15-06-2020

Joanie Pullen(parent)2 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 27-07-2018 Let me start by saying that in the end, my daughterâs wedding was absolutely beautiful! And though Harn Homestead provided the background, thatâs pretty much it. The staff is merely a presence and they will stand and watch, while you work. Yes, the Harn Homestead is the most âaffordableâ of the wedding barns but given how little they provide, itâs not really any more affordable than other wedding barns that provide more and give assistance. I would also suggest having your wedding on a Saturday. My daughter was set on a Friday wedding and since there was a field trip that morning, we could not set up until 1:00. Keep in mind for a 7:00 wedding you will probably start pictures at 3:30 so thatâs 2 1/2 hours to set up. Thanks to our fabulous âI Doâ crew, set up was accomplished in time. Donât arrive early though. Our crew arrived 15 minutes early and the Harn staff greeted them with rudeness and irritation. All our team was asking was for the back gate to be opened so they could meet behind the barn to make a plan. In addition to set up and decorating, our crew had to do property work: nail loose planks on the dance floor (which we had requested be repaired months before), sweep the barn, take out wasp nests around the Harn House, clean all the provided tables and chairs (cause they were filthy) and âcleanâ the Harn house. Speaking of the Harn House, this is where the so-called bridal suite is. It is so small and dirty, thereâs hardly room for the bride and her dress, much less the bridesmaids. Plus the air conditioning was inadequate and despite our best attempts to kill all the wasps, they still managed to get in the bridal suite. We rented an air bnb a few blocks ago to use as a bridal suite. One of the smartest decisions we made!I should also mention that half of the barn had no power-no lights, no fans. There were also no lights behind the barn for the post sunset tear down and the loading pad had a huge drop off causing cars and trucks to bottom out.The Harn Homestead did meet the space needs of this large wedding and like I said, it was gorgeous. A wedding day can be stressful and we felt that everything we dealt with at Harn, just added to the stress. I just wanted to be sure anyone who might read this, knows what youâre getting in to. We understand that the Harn Homestead is a historical venue but if itâs going to be so difficult to have events there, maybe they should get out of the wedding business. Good luck. Micah McNew(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 29-07-2017 What a beautiful wedding venue! The Harn is the most picture perfect wedding venue for any Oklahoma couple; literally picture perfect all my wedding photos are amazing because the entire 10 acres is full of wonderful backgrounds for photos. The staff is great to work with always helpful in making the wedding process a little smoother (let's be honest weddings are stressful) but the Harn staff was always there to answer questions, help resolve issues, and had wonderful ideas for setting up and were there to help with an easy take down process. I always imagined myself having the perfect \"Fall In Love\" fall wedding at the Harn Homestead but due to the best man getting deployed we had to move up the wedding to the summer so I said goodbye to pumpkins and hello to sunflowers but the Harn Homestead was a perfect fit for a \"He Took a Shot and She Said Yes\" summer wedding. I was also worried about the heat since it was July in Oklahoma but with a few fan rentals and 100 really cute fan programs we beat the heat and there was not a single complaint! The Harn Homestead is full of Oklahoma history and I am honored and blessed to that our wedding is now a part of that history. I continue to love the beauty of the Harn Homestead by attending the special fundraising events such as: Harn Homestead Social, Haunt the Harn, and Territorial Christmas, so that the History of the Harn Homestead can continue to grow and that other Oklahoma Brides can enjoy the beauty of the Harn Homestead during their big day as well! Jen Henry(wedding party)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 16-11-2017 Kassandra at Harn was great to work with! We booked our wedding a year out. I would suggest if you want a fall wedding that you book even earlier however as October was booked! The price cannot be beat at Harn! The venue is amazing. If you don't mind a little cleanup at the end then this is the place for a true, Oklahoma barn wedding! They offer chairs for 200 and we had about 230 and they let us pull up picnic tables around the back of the ceremony which was so fun and casual. The bathrooms were clean, the lights inside the barn are beautiful, our guests raved about the night. We had food trucks out back, it had rained hard the day before and there is plenty of concrete space for the two trucks. We were charged a late fee for a small problem we encountered in the parking lot which kept us late, but seriously? 50 bucks? NO BIG DEAL! The staff that came late to lock up was so nice and accommodating, we were scrambling to get out of there on time and we did! The little house where my daughter stayed before the ceremony was perfect, the gazebo was great for the musicians to play during and before ceremony. If you want to keep your budget down, then book this place and bring in food trucks, I am telling you, your guests will love it; people are still texting me about how perfect everything was! We even forgot a couple of signs and Kassandra called me on Monday and she had them in her office and I picked it up, paid my security bill and late fee and easy peasy. Harn Homestead is awesome! My daughter's wedding reception was held there...o my! Poor unfriendly service, facilities not clean, overcharged for their so called \"security\". The contract says you have until midnight to exit the property, but they really don't want you there that long. The security began standing around watching us pack up...with their arms folded. We left the property at exactly 12 midnight ...I checked the time on my phone...and they still charged an additional $50! When I said I didn't intend to pay these additional fees, they said they'd turn it over to a collection agency! Really?! Do you want business or not?! But I'm trying to focus on all the things that went right for the reception! It was beautiful, we had a great time and just what my daughter and son-in-law wanted! And that's what really matters! Suzanne Simpson(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-05-2014 When we began planning our wedding, my husband and I honestly didn't expect to find a venue that could accommodate our desires; however, the Harn Homestead was absolutely perfect. It's a beautiful, idyllic place, and it is also very reasonably priced. My only complaint with this venue is their time limits. We paid extra so we could have five hours for our event, but they still cut the evening short. You also have to have everything out of the venue and cleaned up before midnight. This made our wedding less enjoyable for our parents because they spent so much time worrying about cleaning up. It was very irritating, and when the Harn's representative told us to shut things down a full half hour early, I had my only \"bridezilla moment\" of the whole wedding process. I would recommend the Harn Homestead, but just know you won't get to stay late! Reviewed on 22-06-2014
Karlea Eisenman(bride)3 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 19-04-2014 I was very happy with the venue itself, but the service was definitely not worth the money. I paid $1500 for a one day Sat. rental. During the planning process, the Harn staff seemed uninterested, rude and not accommodating whatsoever. My family had to take time cleaning the barn, dusting and wiping down the tables before decorating. My parents barely had time to get ready and I probably saw my family a total of 20 minutes before the wedding because of this huge time delay! A huge disapointment for the money we paid. Some of the lights were burnt out and the back of the barn is full of junk so don't plan on taking any pictures there. The only thing you get for your money is use of the grounds. Any other services like upkeep of the grounds, cleaning, curteous service, don't count on it. Also, rehearsal dinner is not included. You must pay another full day rental ($1500) for an evening rehearsal at the venue. Reviewed on 07-05-2014

Jaclyn Fedors(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 09-06-2013 We had a fantastic wedding at Harn. It is a perfect setting for a simple, beautiful wedding. We had hardly any decorations, because the scenery is enough! We did the most probably with our florist, but still there wasnt much needed. We got married in the Harn Gazebo and then partied in and outside the barn. The girls got ready in the Harn House and the boys got ready at the hotel. I should say that the Harn House is quite small, so I would suggest doing hair & makeup elsewhere, then going to Harn to dress and hang out until the big moment. We did an evening wedding in early June, so the sun and temperature were perfect (of course you never know with Oklahoma weather.) We did our bridal party pictures beforehand, around 4-5 pm and then the bride & groom and family formals after, around 730. The sunset was beautiful and the scenery of Harn made some terrific pictures. The staff was usually easy to work with, and it was great how much came included-- I think it was 25 tables and 200 chairs. We ended up renting different chairs from another vendor, but it was great to not have to pay for the tables. I also LOVED that Harn let us have the site ALL DAY! We were able to begin setting up at 8:30am. Plenty of time so no one was majorly stressed with setup right before the wedding. Reviewed on 13-08-2013
Tiffany Barnett(bride)4 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 25-05-2013 I really liked the Harn Homestead and the feel it gave my wedding. Everyone had a great time! The only thing I didn't care for was that as a renter you have to agree to so much, yet when we showed up the barn hadn't even been swept and the room I got ready in was very dirty. I had to clean it before I could walk barefoot! Alison from the office was great and came down to sweep the barn when we notified her that it wasn't clean. The staff was amazing and so was the security and everyone we came in contact with. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! Reviewed on 11-06-2013
Jennifer Faulkner(bride)5 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 08-06-2012 My husband and I wanted a big, outside wedding. In the Norman/OKC area, there weren't a lot of options. We almost skipped over the Harn because in a lot of the magazines we looked at, it seemed to country for our taste. I'm so glad we didn't. It may look a little country from their website or in ads, but you have to remember that it's a museum first and a venue second. If you want a country wedding, it's perfect. Our wedding was vintage (30s-50s) inspired, and we wanted it to look like it was in someone's backyard. We played horseshoes and bocce throughout the night; there were quiet areas and loud areas; it was easy to find a place to have fun or a place to just relax.\r\rThe staff was great and they worked well with us. They gave us a lot of freedom and any restrictions they had were reasonable (no candles). Our wedding was on a Friday night, so it was half the cost than if we had scheduled for a Saturday.\r\rIt was actually the last day of one of their day camps, but they let us set up starting at 10 anyway. They were using some of the table and chairs, but they actually moved them where we wanted them when they were done. All of their activities were in areas away from us, so it was almost like the kids weren't even there.\r\rThe Harn was perfect for us and I can't imagine our vision for our wedding anywhere else.\r\r(Just a tip: You can't book an event until exactly one year in advance at the earliest. You can fax in your contract with credit card information at midnight. We didn't know this and had to change our date from Saturday to Friday. If your date is extremely important to you, fax it.) Tabbi Burwell(bride)1 out of 5 Rating Wedding Date 17-09-2011 Biggest regret--having my wedding at the Harn. While I wanted something rustic, I think Oklahoma has other options that will suit your needs. First, the Harn Homestead staff is completely unprofessional. Everyone from the Executive Director to the day of event staff person. I have worked for the Harn as an event staffer for over 8 years and after my experience I would never recommend this place to anyone. To begin, the sprinkler system went off on all of our guests--soaking them! The staff said they have had issues with them but didn't fix it and apparently didn't tell the paying bride about the issues. Our videographer got his $1000 audio equipment ruined by the water and did not get any of our audio for our wedding ceremony. Very upsetting. The Harn never apologized. Another thing that was frustrating was the absolutely dirty bridal room which had a broken AC since June and trash left in there from 3 other weddings. Not to mention the amount of dirt collected around the door-which got my dress filthy before the wedding. There are also holes in the barn roof that leak water if it rains. I have worked for this place for over 8 years (as an event staff) and been in the event business and never have experienced such a rude and hateful event coordinator like the one we had. She yelled at our groomsmen because she was unaware of our day-of details, she pulled my mom away from MY big day because there were issues every 5 minutes and then when it was raining outside she wouldn't allow us to use the golf cart to pull in chairs but had the nerve to eat our food, drink our beverages and steal my cupcakes. Make sure you tell your friends, family and strangers that this is not the place to spend your ONCE OF A LIFETIME event. While the place seems pretty...you will never be able to take ease during your big day because you will be dealing with their bad business. We never received an apology and we were also turned down when asked to speak to their board of directors. Take your field trips there...but forget spending your wedding day at this place!
