I wish I could give Hawthorne House beyond 5 stars because this venue was beyond perfect and made my wedding day truly a dream! The staff was so helpful & knowledgeable! We LOVED that everything you possibly needed was on-site! The in-house bridal & groom suite and on-site chapel & reception space, without the hassle of flipping the room, made the wedding day run extremely smooth! We had our ceremony in the beautiful chapel & took advantage of the beautiful outdoor weather for cocktail hour - where we rented their lawn games for guests to enjoy! The venue had beautiful photo opportunities, so all photos were taken on-site! The reception space is breathtaking & so spacious. The space is perfect for an elegant dinner and a FUN dance party later in the night!We have 0 regrets about booking at HH & hope we can go back one day to see another happy couple get married there! Hawthorne House is hands down the BEST wedding venue in KC & I know all of our family & friends agree! This venue helped us create the most special day of our lives & we are so pleased to tell others we were married here!Thank you Hawthorne House for being so incredible & beautiful!

We had our wedding at the Hawthorne House this year, and I cannot express how absolutely perfect everything was! From the start, the management was incredibly professional, timely, and helpful. Their attention to detail made the planning process a breeze, and we felt confident in their expertise every step of the way.The venue itself is a dream come true. The well-manicured grounds provide an array of stunning backdrops for both indoor and outdoor photography. We spent an entire day capturing moments in the lush gardens, elegant interiors, and serene outdoor spaces. Amazing experience!!! We cannot say enough great things about the Hawthorne House team and their beautiful venue. We hosted our wedding at HH in October 2023, which included a gorgeous outdoor ceremony, outdoor cocktail hour, and an amazing reception. I highly recommend this venue for any couples looking for a location that is very spacious and beautiful inside and out. The team is also extremely responsive and accommodating, which was instrumental in making the experience as great as it was.

The Hawthorne House was beautiful and made life so easy when planning our wedding. The ample parking and chapel onsite makes life easy on you and your guests, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. We loved having our wedding there and really enjoyed the experience. We got married on 6.3 and having the option to have most everything inside but have a cocktail hour outside was also a huge bonus. My husband and I also really appreciate how they are always upgrading the venue, it was practically sparkling the day of our wedding. Overall, if you want an easy, beautiful, and classic venue that has their procedures for events super streamlined, then the Hawthorne House is probably for you.

Hawthorne House was absolutely perfect for our wedding day! The bridal suite is spacious and had excellent lighting for hair and makeup. We loved the picturesque white chapel for our ceremony and heading across the bridge to our cocktail hour after. The reception space is everything you could ask for and is so versatile with any color scheme. All of our guests commented how beautiful it was, and it's truly an all-in-one venue! If you're looking for a place where you can hang out with your party while getting ready, take beautiful outdoor photos, have your wedding and reception (without flipping the space), and plenty of room for your guests to mingle and dance, look no further!

My husband and I knew we wanted our wedding ceremony and reception to be close in proximity for our guests- the Hawthorne House was literally the perfect fit for us. Lindy, Elizabeth and Kim made it so much fun and easy! They are over the top communicators, and answered all of my questions in a very timely and thorough manner. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. From the beautiful amenities Hawthorne House provides, to the multiple gorgeous spots for wedding day photos, to the quaint chapel and outstanding reception room. Our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about our wedding venue. My husband and I took photos at night on the bridge with lights and they are absolutely incredible. We can't thank the Hawthorne House and all of their team/staff for hosting our incredible wedding ceremony and reception!

I had loved the Hawthorne House for a while and before I was engaged, I knew that's where I'd want to get married. December 2021, dates were filling up fast for 2022 so I took a leap of faith and booked it. We got engaged in February and were married in October at the Hawthorne House and it truly was the venue of my dreams. Elizabeth and Kim made the process super fun and easy and were there every step of the way! This venue is timeless, classic and so elegant yet very homey! You and your loved ones will love it! Can't recommend it more!

I have such fond memories of my wedding day, and that is credited to the execution of Kim and Elizabeth, as well as the beauty of the location itself! The property truly is gorgeous; not only that, but it is incredibly functional for your special day! We chose to get married in the chapel, take photos on the property, and of course, our reception! You can also get ready on-site, including the groom and groomsmen, which I found through the wedding planning process is uncommon. Overall, I have nothing but good words to say, and I think it's fair to take a visit onsite and see the beauty yourself!

This is one part of our wedding I would rebook 1,000 times and 1,000% recommend. Hawthorne House was AMAZING! Not only is the property gorgeous, but Elizabeth and Kim were incredible to work with. From booking Hawthorne House, they made everything seamless and helped with all my silly questions. We had our ceremony outside at the gazebo, but I loved the option of their cute chapel in case of bad weather. The suites were amazing to get ready in and the staff was happy to help with questions the morning of! I felt like everything went seamlessly thanks to the Hawthorne House team - they have thought about every little detail you might need from your venue!My husband and I were so pleased with our choice and our guests raved to us about how they loved it too. Would HIGHLY recommend!

BOOK HAWTHORNE HOUSE NOW!!! For starters, the venue is stunning which means less décor on your end. The best part about Hawthorne is the fact that this venue is all in one without the hassle of flipping the reception room to accommodate for both ceremony and reception in case of bad weather. There is a beautiful chapel on-site as well as an outdoor ceremony space in front of a gazebo. My wedding morning started off running a little behind with hair and makeup (my fault for not going in the middle like they suggested), but besides the point! Even though we were running behind on the timeline it didn't fully matter because EVERYHTHING is done there with no travel time from where you get ready, to where you are taking pictures, to the ceremony. Because of this, we ended up being totally fine on time and even had time to spare before the ceremony to do some quick touchups. Hawthorne House is the best of the best!

My husband and I are so grateful that we chose Hawthorne House for our big day. The venue itself is gorgeous! We loved that everything we needed was on-site - no having to drive around between the church, photos, and reception. That really made our day so much more relaxed. I LOVED that there are so many beautiful locations to photograph on property, so that you can get a variety of photos without having to leave. The bride's suite is gorgeous - 10/10. Elizabeth and her team made the planning process so easy. They are super timely, provide lots of good recommendations and suggestions (decor examples, reception layout, recommended vendors, etc), and help to make sure no detail is forgotten and that you are really prepared for your day. Quite a few of our guests said that our wedding was the best they've been to, and Hawthorne House was obviously a huge part of that.

My husband and I had Hawthorne House picked out as our wedding venue even before our engagement in 2020. We wanted everything to be on site for potential inclement winter weather, and Hawthorne House itself is stunning. The venue is truly beautiful, and we purchased and rented minimal decorations because it looked so elegant with simple floral highlights. Having two getting ready rooms on site was convenient and made photography and videography much easier; they could go back and forth between rooms easily, and we got a lot of great getting ready photos because of it. There were so many great places to take photos, so we ended up with a wide variety. I was worried that the cold would limit photo locations because we couldn't stray too far from the venue, but there were so many pretty locations inside and immediately outside the building that it wasn't an issue at all.So much of the venue was customizable and they work really closely with some of KC's top-rated vendors, so if you stick to their vendor list it almost has an all-inclusive feel. We used their recommendation list for almost every single vendor we booked, and they were all so familiar with Hawthorne House that communication was almost completely stress free. There was a transition in venue managers because we booked almost two years in advance, and Kim made the process feel very seamless. She was very responsive, even for all of my last minute questions with table layouts and guest count fluctuations. Kim and Elizabeth, the owner, were both so helpful. I had a lot of what-if questions and recommendation requests based on what others had done with the venue, and they were always quick and never made me feel like a bother. The Instagram page was also a huge help. It gets updated frequently, and I saved quite a few of the posts to help with inspiration.I really can't recommend the venue enough. The biggest tragedy is that we won't get to explore the grounds and buildings anymore now that the wedding is over. The venue is truly charming, and they made our wedding day feel amazing and look beautiful.

When looking for a wedding venue, Hawthorne House was very appealing because of the beautiful structures and also the impecable grounds. We loved the fact that there is a chapel on site as a separate ceremony space. Once we saw it, we knew it was a one of a kind venue, so we quickly booked! Elizabeth and her team (Kim & Regan) were so easy to work with and they definitely know what they are doing as far as helping you create & execute a beautiful wedding day. We felt it was easier to pull off a gorgeous wedding when the backdrop was this amazing venue. They also have several beautiful rentals available that kept us from having to use an outside rental company. The bridal party made wonderful memories getting ready in the newly renovated Magnolia Suite & the guys enjoyed getting to watch college football in their suite. We would highly recommend HH and hope we have a chance to attend a wedding there in the future!

We recently got married at the Hawthorne House and cannot say enough good things about the venue itself, the people we worked with, and our overall experience! We fell in love with Hawthorne House because of the sweet southern charm, natural light in the reception space, and the flexibility of an indoor or outdoor ceremony. Not only is the space itself beautiful, but Elizabeth, Kim, and the rest of the HH team are wonderful to work with. They were responsive, always willing to answer questions, and made us feel at ease during the planning process. The “getting ready space” for the bridesmaids was absolutely perfect—our hair and makeup vendors had plenty of space and proper lighting to work their magic and the bridesmaids really enjoyed having access to the sitting area and porch off the Magnolia room. Last but not least, this venue lends itself to the most beautiful pictures. The lush landscape and sweet front porch created the perfect backdrop for our pictures. Having our wedding at the Hawthorne House was such a dream and we wouldn’t change a thing about our special day. Thank you, Hawthorne House!

Hawthorne House and the team were phenomenal from the start. Elizabeth and her team helped us put together the perfect day. This venue is great as you can decide on a beautiful outdoor wedding near the gazebo or beautiful indoor wedding in the Chapel. Samee and I chose the Chapel and would highly recommend to anyone else looking. The outdoor cocktail hour had tables set up for our guests to relax and enjoy the vast yard. We also took advantage of the beautiful scenery for pictures before and after the wedding. Samee and I would highly recommend!

The most beautiful wedding venue in Kansas City!! We had our daughter's wedding there last month and we couldn't be happier. There was not one single thing that went wrong. The staff was responsive and professional and my daughter got the fairy tale wedding of her dreams!! The bridal suite upstairs for the bridal party to get ready in is simply the best I've ever seen! It's huge!! Plenty of room for all the gals to get their hair and makeup done! My daughter opted for an outdoor wedding by the gazebo, but it was nice to know we had the beautiful chapel as a backup! And because they have both the gazebo and the chapel for the wedding, you don't need to \"flip\" the venue for the reception! All in all, it was a prefect day and Hawthorne House was the very best choice we could have made!!

The Hawthorne House was an amazing venue to work with. We booked 5/29/21 as our original date and kept it that date as well. Elizabeth and her team were SUPER helpful in updating us with any policy changes due to COVID, provided helpful information about wedding planning in general, and were very responsive about any question we had. Between touring the HH in 2019 to getting married in 2021, we felt that we had a great connection with the Hawthorne House at all times. They even brought in special Gin and Tonic Syrup to make a signature drink that was important to me and the groom! Overall, we chose the Hawthorne House because it would allow for a non-flip wedding, offered indoor or outdoor ceremony locations, has a timeless look, beautiful grounds, and is big enough for everyone to spread out! One thing I was bummed by was the lack of time prior to the ceremony to get ready, and the getting ready drink pricing. We opted to get ready at an off-site location because with 8 bridesmaids, 2 moms and a bride, the 11am access time for a 5:30 ceremony (with photos before-hand) just wasn't enough time to get ready in the beautiful getting-ready suites on-site. Once you're on-site, you also cannot bring outside alcohol due to their liquor license and the pricing for providing drinks from the HH for the wedding party before the ceremony is around $5 per bottle (depending on what you get - beer, white claws, etc) which I felt was a bit steep. Nonetheless, the venue was perfect for our big day, and I would recommend the Hawthorne House to any couple.

I wish we could have had our wedding here, it is such a beautiful venue and on amazing property for a full experience for your day! Unfortunately we booked in 2019 before COVID ruined all of our wedding dreams. We tried to work with HH but they refused to put our date into 2021, which would have made our family MUCH more comfortable due to the circumstances!!! They had two dates left in 2020 and offered those, but neither were far enough out, which happened to be true as we lost a family member to COVID on one of the reschedule dates!!!Through all of this all we asked was for half our payment back and HH refused. I truly hope going forward no bride has to deal with the gut wrenching decision to postpone or cancel - let’s hope this is done!!! However, I was so deeply saddened that such a lovely venue would be so cold hearted and business only. We understand contracts and following a business plan - however a situation like a global pandemic SHOULD make it an exception to help out families who only want to be safe in celebrating their love!We lost our jobs shortly after this and may not even be able to have a wedding and it just makes me so sad, so if you are looking into HH please know to understand the contract and be prepared to lose money if anything goes wrong.

We scheduled my daughter's wedding at HH for 6/6/20. We paid the $7,000 venue fee upfront. Because of COVID, the wedding could not be held on that date. HH told us that per our contract we could re-schedule within the calendar year so we re-scheduled for 8/21/20. As that date grew closer we felt uncomfortable holding a large event on that date due to the virus. HH would only allow us to re-schedule within 2020 without paying a new venue fee. We wanted to re-schedule farther out than that. We could schedule in January - April 2021 by paying 50% of a new venue fee and after that, it would be a new venue fee in full. After going back and forth with HH our options were these: 1. Hold the wedding prior to 4/30/21. 2. Schedule farther out and pay a new venue fee, after we had already paid a venue fee of $7,000. 3. Go to a different venue and forfeit our $7,000 venue fee.We opted to go with a different venue for the wedding, which is happening later in 2021, and Hawthorne House kept our full $7,000 despite the fact we weren't holding a wedding at their venue.Please be sure you ask the venues you're considering what their re-schedule policy is. That's true in general of course, but especially so in these times. We had no idea we would be rescheduling the wedding once, let alone twice. Incidentally, our new venue did not require the full venue fee upfront. All of the other venues we toured the second time around had much more forgiving policies than HH during this pandemic. And all of our other vendors, without exception, worked with us. Even our caterer who is not approved at our new venue. We are not difficult people and would have loved to have held the wedding at Hawthorne House, but we couldn't stomach staying there once we knew we were going to have to pay a second venue fee.

Having our wedding at Hawthorne House was a DREAM! Elizabeth and Regan were responsive and friendly during our initial tour, throughout the planning process, and leading up to our wedding day. The venue is stunning and accommodating to all guests. There are 2 locations to host a ceremony and lots of flexibility when it comes to the reception seating and floor plan. The day of our wedding was seamless and our guests raved about how beautiful the venue was! Thank you so much Hawthorne House! We wouldn't change a thing!

Hawthorne House is the PERFECT wedding venue! The grounds are lush and beautiful, and the inside of the venue is absolutely gorgeous. The bride & groom suites were recently renovated and provided the perfect place for us to get ready onsite. The wrap around porch and lawn were stunning and absolutely perfect for our cocktail hour prior to the reception. We loved that we didn't need a ton of decorations because the setup is already so beautiful! Not only is Elizabeth one of the kindest, sweetest people you will ever meet, she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we wanted for our reception. Her down-to-earth personality made the entire planning process so easy and fun. It was an absolute dream to have my reception here and I can't recommend it to others enough!

The Hawthorne House was absolutely the most amazing venue and everything we could have dreamed of!! When looking at venues I knew that we wanted to be in one place all day and The Hawthorne House was able to give that to us from getting ready to pictures, the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception. Elizabeth and Regan are the sweetest people, so easy to communicate with and were so helpful through everything! We had to reschedule our wedding due to covid and they made it so easy and really worked with us in order to insure we would still get our dream wedding. We loved that we could have an outdoor ceremony but in case of rain we did not have to worry because we also had the chapel as an option. I could not be happier with our decision to get married at The Hawthorne House!!

The Hawthorne House was the perfect place for the most magical wedding!! I looked at over 20 venues across the Kansas City area, and nothing compares to the Hawthorne House! From the girls getting ready in the most beautiful and bright Magnolia room, having some traditional elements of walking down the aisle in the little white chapel, taking photos all over the gorgeous lush, green lawn and surrounding property, to dancing the night away in the stunning Emerson Room...the Hawthorne House was absolutely the most perfect wedding venue! Elizabeth and her team was such a great help , especially during an uncertain time in the world due to COVID. They trusted us and ensured our wedding day would be all that we wanted and they were absolutely correct! I would pick the Hawthorne House over and over again!

If you are looking for an all in one location you have come to the right place. From a beautiful chapel, getting ready suites (they are remodeling them and they are going to be sooo beautiful), a beautiful reception hall, and a large outdoor space for pictures and guests to mingle, they have it ALL! We went to a wedding here 10 years ago and my mother loved it so much we booked this venue before even officially touring it! No regrets!! We had a tour after we officially booked it and another prior to our wedding and both were so perfect! Elizabeth is an amazing venue coordinator and she is so fun to follow along on social media. We enjoyed getting to know her through our planning process. I even got a last minute decoration idea through her stories on Instagram. So fun to follow and I highly recommend it to any bride-to-be. This venue is just perfect on so many levels. We had a 70 degree day in November for our wedding and planned on having the wedding in the chapel regardless of weather but guests loved being able to hang inside or outside on the wrap around porch during the reception. So the flexibility of layouts and set-ups are so nice and can truly feel unique to each couple. My mother loved having everything on site! The wedding guests (and older family members) didn't have to worry about transportation from place to place. They even allow for vehicles to stay parked overnight in case you need to uber home from the celebration! For the wedding party, there are unlimited places to get pictures taken, even after looking pictures I couldn't believe they were all taken on site!! So amazing! The \"house\" aspect of a venue is so special and gives a cozy feel, almost like you were getting married at your own house with all your close friends and family. I love that vibe. My wedding was around 180 people and the venue was perfect, plenty of room but still intimate feeling and plenty of room for people to mingle. I could go on about all the things I love about Hawthorne house, but I'll just end it with a huge thank you to the venue, Elizabeth, and her whole team of behind the scene employees. Here is to hopes that I get to attend many more weddings there in the future, maybe one of my younger sisters! Fabulous venue!!

The coordinator was able to flip our cocktail hour and ceremony to give time for the rain to let up for us to have our perfect outdoor ceremony!

Thank you Hawthorne House for making my wedding dreams come true! From the moment I turned onto the property for the first time, my jaw dropped. Everything about the venue is stunning. We had our ceremony in the chapel, which was a DREAM! Bright natural light, wooden pews, grand piano, white exterior, big staircase, a rod iron bridge surrounded by trees -everything was so simple and beautiful, & that isn't even all of it! The reception space - the wrap around porch, bridal suite with a BALCONY, hardwood floors, natural light, gold chandeliers - I mean I could go on and on, but it was a literal dream come true. Everything was so beautiful that we hardly used any additional decoration besides flowers and centerpieces! Thank you Elizabeth for answering so many questions, being a joy to work with and allowing us to have our wedding at HH! We still have people telling us how beautiful the venue was, even 5 months later!

Hawthorne House was everything we dreamed of for our wedding! The chapel was the perfect setting for our indoor ceremony. It was large enough to seat all of our guests, but still had a cozy, intimate feel. The short walk from the chapel to the reception area is beautiful in fall and our guests loved that everything was in the same location. The reception hall itself is so beautiful on its own that we had to do very little decorating on our own. Our guests loved the venue and complimented it all night long. The staff at Hawthorne House is also incredible! I cannot say enough good things about Elizabeth! She responded to any questions we had immediately and was able to help us out with some suggestions when we weren't sure what direction to go in. She met with us several times and was always pleasant and eager to help. Hawthorne House is a fabulous place to get married!

My daughter was married at the Hawthorne House in September. Everything about the property was FABULOUS! From the first sight of the chapel when you drive up leading to the beautiful grounds then the welcoming front porch, it is picture card perfect! The chapel looked amazing and when I entered the reception hall, it took my breath away! The room was aglow with light from the gorgeous chandeliers and romantic candles on every table. All the white and glass accentuated by flowers coupled with the view of trees through the windows was stunning. We received so many compliments from the guests about this gorgeous venue. Plus Elizabeth and her team were very responsive and easy to work with bringing our vision to life. Choosing the Hawthorne House was the BEST decision we made and we couldn't be happier about the entire experience. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would advise to be super careful if it is raining on the bridge from the chapel to the house because we did have 4 people slip and fall that night (including me)! We could not imagined a better venue for our wedding! The Hawthorne House was an absolute dream. The staff worked perfectly with our vendors to make sure everything went smoothly and was perfect for our special day. The venue offers both and indoor and outdoor ceremony option. We decided to get married in the chapel, and all of our photos turned out amazing. The windows in the building are gorgeous, and i love the traditional pews. There is also a basement which is great for hiding away the bride and wedding party. The lawn was kept green and gorgeous for out hot August wedding which helped for photos, and would be great for an outdoor ceremony. You really can't beat the gorgeous porch at the reception building, not to mention the beautiful hardwoods and chandeliers. There is also a bridal suite and a groom's suite which was great for getting ready. I really can't say enough good things about this venue and the staff. We had the perfect day, and Hawthorne House will always have a special place in our hearts.

It was love at first site when I first saw this venue (even in the dead of winter). I was absolutely blown away and knew this was my wedding venue! Our spring wedding date was the perfect complement for this venue as the outdoor lawn, florals and landscaping was beautiful. This venue is great as it allows both outdoor and indoor chapel options for ceremony and a separate reception space, all on the same property. The indoor reception area is just as dreamy as the outdoors and have beautiful open windows, chandeliers and hardwood floors! I had many guests come and tell me how beautiful the venue was and how much they enjoyed it! I can also not say enough amazing things about Elizabeth! The venue had changed ownership two months prior to our big day, which initially made me nervous however Elizabeth exceeded my expectations and was incredibly professional, responsive and organized. I am so excited to see everything she does with this venue because she is amazing! The venue staff was amazing on our wedding day and worked together with all of our vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly throughout the day! Wedding venue perfection! My mom actually found this venue while searching online (she’s based in FL) and sent it to me. I knew from the pictures online that it looked like my style, but to see it in person I was blown away! Hawthorne House was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding this June. It is located in a quiet, beautiful area and it feels like you’re in the South, not Missouri! The venue is well taken care of and the landscaping is pristine. We wanted to get married outside and the lawn is the perfect place for an outdoor ceremony. The indoor reception area is absolutely stunning filled with windows, natural light, and gorgeous chandeliers. We received so many compliments from our guests about HH. It was so great to have our ceremony and reception on the same site, and made our day so easy. The chapel on site is also beautiful and was a perfect ‘back up’ plan, if it had rained. Elizabeth was great to work with for our big day. We were worried when we heard the venue ownership had changed just a few months prior to our wedding, but we were so happy that Elizabeth was the one to take over! She was responsive, professional, and so sweet. She made sure our original contract was upheld and she allowed our vision to come through perfectly. HH provides great packages for alcohol and we were able to have the open bar we wanted, for a reasonable price. Elizabeth & her team are in the process of updating the getting ready suites and I know they will be beautiful for future brides & grooms. This venue provided the perfect little slice of heaven for our wedding day. I day dream about it all the time. The weather was an absolute dream on our big day and our guests LOVED the cocktail hour on the lawn. I 100% recommend this for future couples. It was the perfect place to relax, schmooze with guests and enjoy the view. We danced the night away on the beautiful wood floors of the reception area and guests mingled on the stunning wrap-around front porch throughout the night. Seriously, HH is the perfect venue for anyone who loves old southern glamour. Honestly crossing my fingers that someone I know will marry there in the future so I can go back! The Hawthorne House was everything we could have hoped for for our daughter’s dream wedding. It is a beautiful venue with so many options that can fulfill your vision for such a special day. We chose the chapel for the service and it was so intimate and special. Lawn games and hordourves on the vast lawn and huge wrap around porch were a perfect way to begin the reception...and the number of settings for incredible pictures were endless. But most importantly is how helpful and accommodating Elizabeth and her team were in making their day happen. From start to finish we had no worries that things would be as promised...and they were. I had a Christmas wedding at the Hawthorne House in December. The on-site chapel was PERFECT for the chilly weather, and the reception room was exactly the warm, classy feel I was going for. EVERYONE commented about how beautiful the venue was. All the women I worked with were kind, understanding, and accommodating. They were VERY easy to communicate with via email. The coordinator meetings were super helpful. Luckily, they even let us come in the days prior to the wedding to set up because there weren’t any other weddings my weekend! (Perks of a winter wedding!!!)

We couldn’t have picked a better venue to get married as it was accommodating to an outdoor ceremony and if need be an indoor (weather). We would recommend Hawthorne House to any couple. Costs were reasonable for the facility they run. It isn’t a BYOB scenario, so expect to get nailed with alcohol cost. Other than that you cater in the food and there really isn’t any hidden costs. Great people to work with! They have been in the business for a very long time. You’ll be in great hands

We loved having our wedding at the Hawthorne House! We were looking for a location that offered a place to have a private, intimate ceremony AND a fun dinner reception without our guests having to travel to multiple venues. The Hawthorne House was it! The grounds are beauuuuutiful; complete with a chapel, gazebo, pretty house with big windows and intimate lighting (all of which made for great photos!). The owner is very responsive and easy to communicate with, something that is so important when planning a wedding. We only found a couple downsides with the Hawthorne House... First, all beverages must be provided by the venue, which ended up costing us more money than it would have for us to go through our caterer. And second, they don't allow sparklers or confetti (among a few other things) for a send-off which we were really hoping we'd be able to use. All in all, we had a wonderful experience with the Hawthorne House and would absolutely recommend the venue to couples in need of a location for their best day ever!

My wife and her mother visited wedding venues in Kansas City on a weekend I had to work. She called me immediately after visiting the Hawthorne House, and by her excitement and enthusiasm, I could tell this would be the place for us. When I got to visit a couple of weeks later, I knew exactly why. It fit both of our personalities and our vision for our wedding day. There is an elegantly simple quality to the Hawthorne House, but also a laid back, fun atmosphere that was perfect for our party. The chapel was exactly what we wanted, and the walk from the chapel to the reception venue at dusk was incredible. The grounds were immaculately kept and created excellent photo settings for us and our guests. The patio outside was a great spot to have a drink and socialize. In all, I couldn't have been more pleased with the venue. Angie and Adona were always available to help us address questions and concerns. All-in-all, the Hawthorne House was perfect!

Our wedding was a DREAM COME TRUE!! Hawthorne House was absolutely gorgeous and our guests raved about it!We lucked out and had perfect weather, allowing us to use the porch and lawn which looked beautiful and green in early Sept. The chapel and reception hall are so pretty on their own that they did not need a lot of decor -- we used candle votives and greenery as our center pieces and it took my breath away when I first saw it!Not only was the space exceptional, but Adona and her team were organized, friendly and quick to reply to ALL of our crazy questions!The bartenders moved fast and kept our guests happy. I would highly recommend using this venue, especially if you want to use the outdoor space! Thank you for making our wedding the best day ever!!

My mother-in-law gave me some very sound advice regarding the process of narrowing down such an important detail of a wedding such as the venue. It sets the scene and is the foundation for the planning process. I chose \"simple elegance\" as my go-to through planning my wedding and believe the Hawthorne House helped create this vision. The grounds provided great photo opportunities, the reception hall was perfect for dinner, dancing, and an open bar, the rooms upstairs provided a great space to get ready for the bridal party, and the chapel was pristine. This location helped contribute to such a magical day and Angie and Adona were so helpful through the entire time!

After touring this amazing venue, I fell in love with it and knew this was the perfect venue! We got married in the chapel and had the reception in the ballroom. I loved that everything was in one place and our guests just had to walk across the bridge. There was only 1 available Saturday in 2018 so we had to decide if it was worth all the stress in planning a wedding in 4 months! It was worth it! The staff was perfect and helped with my many questions. We had the most perfect day and I couldn't imagine a different venue.

I didn't know that I had a dream wedding venue until I stepped foot in the Hawthorne House. After visiting close to 15 other venues, my husband and I knew this was the place and it delivered - the day was absolutely perfect! Staff communication was so prompt leading up to the wedding and all of my questions were answered. The venue was beautiful, clean, put together, and ready for us. Our day-of coordinator was great at the rehearsal and on the wedding day, keeping everything running smoothly and making me feel stress-free. I can't say how many compliments I got from guests about the beauty of the venue and the hospitality from the staff. All wedding venues need to model themselves after this one. I'd highly recommend Hawthorne House for all brides who want their dream wedding to come true!

This venue is everything we dreamed about. The ceremony in the chapel was flawless. The music we played sounded beautiful and my grand enterance was one of the best moments of my life. And then the reception was the biggest party and the most fun we've ever had. It was gorgeous with all of the tables set up and our centerpieces! The staff works so hard to make sure everyone has water and their plates cleared and were incredibly friendly to all of our guests. Angie worked so hard on the day of our wedding! She kept us on schedule, fluffed my dress, communicated with our DJ for us and took so much of the load off our shoulders! She was so easy to work with both before our wedding on the day of. Adona gave us our first tour of the venue and we fell in love right away. She is the best communicator I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She responded to all my emails within a day and usually within an hour or two. She answered every question and helped me to plan the perfect day! From the gorgeous chapel, to the amazing wrap around porch, to the incredible staff, we cannot recommend The Hawthorne House enough!

We decided it was too picturesque to pass up, and we both agree that it was the best decision we made while planning! Adona was fantastic to work with. She was attentive, detailed, and available at every point of the planning period. Angie was our day-of coordinator, and she made the day run so smoothly that we rarely saw her during the day! Our wedding was everything I had ever dreamed of and more. My husband and I, our family, and all of our guests can't stop talking about how perfect and wonderful this venue is! It is not cheap BUT you get what you pay for, which is top-notch service and accommodation from the bridal/groom suite to get ready in to the delicious food (they even worked with us on a brunch menu) to taking care of set up/cleaning. Also, such a beautiful place even during the daytime!!

I had my wedding at Hawthorne House in August of 2017, and we were, for the most part, very pleased with the outcome of the wedding. A couple of things we weren't quite prepared for: 1. When they grant you a \"wedding planner\" it truly is a day-of planner and she is really only there on the day of. My wedding ceremony started at 5:00 and my wedding planner arrived at 3:00 that day. She truly was just there to tell my bridesmaids when to walk in the ceremony and do mild monitoring of the reception.She didn't receive any of my vendors, and I only met with her one time before the wedding day. I honestly didn't even have her name and number. 2. The rehearsal dinner scheduling- Hawthorne House requires you to either rehearse on Thursday night of your wedding weekend , or on the morning of your wedding. I had most of my wedding party that was from out of town, so Thursday wasn't really an option for us. The biggest issue was, as it got closer, I asked if there was a wedding on the Friday before my Saturday wedding- there wasn't. But, they still wouldn't let us rehearse on that evening, even though there was nothing going on, which was a little frustrating overall. Overall, Hawthorne House is a beautiful location. Our pictures turned out amazing, and the food was incredible, and the accommodations for getting ready are perfect. The location is great and was easily accessible.Those are just the two things above that kept us from making this a 5Star location.

The hawthorne house was the first venue we looked at and it actually ended up being the last one we looked at! From the second we saw the property, WE FELL IN LOVE! We absolutely loved the idea of having the ceremony and reception on the same grounds-- it was easy for us planning and it as easy for our guests. In general, the hawthorne house just made it so easy for us. They had such a fun taste-testing night, they checked in with us periodically, and they had a day-of coordinator for our wedding day to make sure things went smoothly. Angie and Adona were nothing but kind and genuine. Our guests loved taking pictures around the property: the beautiful giant porch, the gazebo, the light-up bridge. I originally fell in love with the Hawthorne House because of their beautiful, white Chapel and the wrap around porch on the reception hall. After seeing the Chapel, I knew I wanted to get married in it...and my wish came true as my husband and I were married there on March 19, 2017! Having the ceremony and the reception at one location was incredibly convenient and made it easy for our guests. The staff at Hawthorne House was easy to work with and always available when we had questions. Ultimately, we didn't have to do much work beforehand because they provided the food and took care of most of the set up. The food we chose was delicious, but a little pricey (probably not too different from other venues though). We wished that we were able to provide our own alcohol from some of our favorite local breweries but Hawthorne House's policy didn't allow us to use outside alcohol; however, we chose to use their selection and it worked out well. In addition, the suites for the wedding parties were wonderful spaces! I loved the bridal suite, it was a perfect space for everyone to spend time together and get ready before the wedding. Even though our wedding was in March and most of the trees and flowers weren't in bloom, the venue itself is so beautiful that our pictures turned out amazing. I couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else and would highly recommend anyone considering Hawthorne House to get married here!!

I got married here 9/8/17. It was a dream come true from the moment I visited the venue over a year before the wedding. I knew instantly this was the place where I wanted my wedding to take place. The grounds are beautiful and the staff goes out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for your wedding day. During the planning process we sent numerous e-mails, called and visited several times to make sure we got all of our questions answered. Adona was always prompt to respond and made several changes to items we requested to have a specific way that was outside of their standard offering. They also let us get into the Chapel and Reception area early to decorate and start getting ready. They bend over backwards to make sure you have the wedding of your dreams. We got so many compliments on how amazing the food was and how gorgeous the entire venue was from the Chapel to the actual Hawthorne House. Everything is at your fingertips and so easy on your wedding day because it is all in one spot. Our wedding pictures are absolutely gorgeous because of the beautiful scenery that surrounds the venue. I would recommend this venue over and over again because you cannot go wrong in any way!! It was absolutely beautiful and even more perfect that I could have every dreamed.

We absolutely loved the Hawthorne House for our ceremony and reception! It truly was everything we wanted and more. We were able to spend the day there getting ready and taking photos and everything looked amazing, the grounds are so gorgeous. We had our ceremony in the chapel, our reception in the Emerson Room and our guests absolutely loved enjoying the cocktail hour out on the porch. The food was DELICIOUS (we recommend the brisket!) and the bar service was perfect as well. Adona, our coordinator, was there every step of the way and helped make sure our day was everything we wanted it to be. Overall, we highly recommend the Hawthorne House and want to get married again just so we can go back!

Not only was this venue a gorgeous location for our wedding, it was the easiest choice for vendors due to the organization, attentiveness, and helpfulness that the staff provided! So many things were taken off my to do list because of the amenities that Hawthorne House provides, to their brides and grooms! We continue to hear how great the food was, how helpful the staff was, and how beautiful the grounds were, from our guests. I am so thankful that I was able to have our wedding at Hawthorne House. I would recommend it to anyone, without hesitation!

When my fiance and I went on the search for our dream winter wedding location, I looked at several venues and nothing quite felt right to my fiance and I until we walked into The Hawthorne House. This was the PERFECT location for us. We wanted to get married in a chapel that had a reception space close by. The Hawthorne House was the perfect place! The chapel is absolutely beautiful. The bridge that leads to the reception was picturesque! The reception hall was stunning. We loved the white walls, wooden floors and gorgeous windows. It was so nice to have the wedding and reception in the same place. The day we got married, there was a snowstorm and the venue looks even better covered in snow :) Any time our guests reminisce with us about the wedding, they always say how beautiful the wedding was (and that they loved the bacon wrapped shrimp!). Speaking of food......wow! The food was incredible. I've never had better wedding food from a venue. It was delicious and all of our guests were in awe of the food. The staff was also incredible to work with. I had an amazing experience working the people at The Hawthorne House. They help make your special day go as smooth and stress free as possible. I had a blast at my wedding and wouldn't change one thing about it. I would recommend The Hawthorne House to anyone.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect and dreamlike venue for our November wedding. From the moment we drove onto the property the previous winter, we instantly loved the beautiful setting. And once we met the people we would be working with, we were completely sold. Adona and Della were wonderful to work with, and they made everything efficient and stress-free. But it was the small details in which they really excelled. Adona took the time to pack the two of us a to-go box of food as we were leaving, just to make sure we ate enough at the end of the night. The venue itself is gorgeous. It’s nestled in the trees, and the autumn colors in early November were picturesque. We used every inch of available space; from the chapel, to the front yard and porch for drinks and games, to the Emerson room for our reception. Many of our guests commented that it was one of the prettiest venues they've ever seen. Everything you could need for your wedding is in once place, and it is easy for every guest to get around. We couldn’t speak more highly of the Hawthorne House. They work very hard to make your wedding day a dream come true.

The Hawthorne House was the perfect venue!! My husband and I were so fortunate that the venue had a chapel, large big porch, and indoor reception hall because it was pouring rain most of the day. Adona was extremely helpful with questions and booking. Working with her and the amenities the venues provides took off a lot of stress since we had a short four month engagement. I absolutely loved working with our day of coordinator Angie. My wedding day was stress free and I had so many comments that it was the most beautiful venue that people had been too. I highly recommend using Hawthorne House for your wedding.

My new husband and I, our families, and our guests cannot say enough good things about the Hawthorne House to truly represent the wonderful experience we had. The staff at Hawthorne House made the entire experience of booking, planning, and the day-of as easy and stress-free as possible. Our favorite aspect of the Hawthorne House (aside from being utterly beautiful, classic, and timeless) was the fact that they take care of so much for you. Once you book with the Hawthorne House, you don't have to worry about finding a caterer, a bartending service, a vendor for tables and chairs, or a vendor for linens and tableware! The in-house services put so much ease into the planning process -- it is worth every penny!

The Hawthorne house was great for our wedding and reception. Della was extremely nice and helpful throughout the whole process. Angie was our coordinator and she did wonderful. She even went as far as to clean my wife’s dress for a good ten minutes after spotting a stain. The property was outstanding, we had an outside ceremony, but they kept assuring us if the weather went south they could have to chapel ready in no time which was very good to hear. The entire staff made our day enjoyable and easier. All night we were receiving compliments on the event.

We loved this location since the chapel/gazebo for a ceremony is yards away from the reception hall. You also can benefit from being on-site all day with the bride/groom suite suitable for getting everyone ready all in one place!The only drawback is the rigid pricing and expense of the venue. For the convenience factor, it may be worth it - but I wish they were more reasonable on prices for food and alcohol since you are required to use them.

Wow, wow, WOW! I just got married at the Hawthorne House on Sunday, September 4, 2016. From the very first encounter to the very last the associates of the Hawthorne House were amazing! I cannot say enough good things about them. I loved everything about my wedding at the Hawthorne House. It may be a litter pricer than other venues but I can honestly say it was worth every penny spent. The HH team not only treated my husband and I with the best service but everyone they encountered. I had several guests at my wedding compliment me on how nice, friendly & accomodating everyone was throughout the wedding. Della and Angie, our Reception Coordinator, were stellar! I couldn't have asked or hoped for better ladies to work with. I would pick the Hawthorne House a million times over as the place to have my wedding and reception. 10,000 thumbs up! Thank you, Hawthorne House!!!!

My husband and I got married here on August 13, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. I got so many compliments on the venue, and how beautiful is looked. The grounds are kept so nice, especially during the heat of the summer, and the grass was green and beautiful and the flowers planted around the venue looked fresh as well. Della and Adonna were so incredibly helpful throughout the whole planning process - it really showed on the day of the wedding! Everything went so smoothly - it was truly a stress free day! This venue was perfect in every way - you won't be disappointed!

I got married this August and it was a beautiful day. When I first saw the church that is located on the grounds, I couldn't get it out of my mind, it was exactly what I had always envisioned for my wedding day. The venue was so classic and elegant, I know it will look good in the photos we took 30 years from now. The food was delicious there and we were given plenty of compliments. However, one of the best things about the day was our wedding coordinator who came with our booking. She made sure everything was moving along according to plan, which took a lot of the stress of of me. She was even there to help bustle my dress when that was proving to be an issue. The staff acted with professionalism the entire way and helped me have a stress-free wedding day in a beautiful area. Wouldn't have wanted to get married anywhere else.

Holy amazing Hawthorne House made my wedding what it was. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable I would recommend it based on them alone! Hawthorne house is THE perfect venue in KC, I searched long and hard for something affordable and not a barn and as soon as I arrived at Hawthorne House I fell in love (and so did my husband, who had not opinion about anything wedding related). Having the outdoor and indoor options saved my wedding day because we almost had to move inside at the last minute. Seriously, stop searching and go take a look because you've found your dream wedding venue (and staff) here!

My husband and I got married here in February 2016 and it was just wonderful! The staff took extra good care of us and help us make the day go very smoothly. The chapel and the house are so breathe taking that you really didn't need to over do it on the decor, which made planning easy! The best thing about this venue was that it was an all in one package - you could get ready at the venue, you took pictures at the venue, got married on site, and you had dinner and the reception at the venue! There was no need to go anywhere that day. Thanks so much Hawthorne House for making our special day just amazing!

My husband and I are still in awe at how wonderful our wedding was at the Hawthorne House. Our guests loved everything that the venue had to offer from the lovely chapel, outdoor cocktail hour, plentiful drinks, delicious food and beautiful reception area. The venue has a great bride and groom getting ready room! The staff though is what put this venue over the top. Each person we spoke with from the Hawthorne House was accommodating, timely and just fantastic to work with. They truly provided my family with a dream wedding...we could not be happier!

My daughter got married at The Hawthorne House last weekend. The venue was beautiful and the service was amazing. Everyone was very helpful and kind. My only caution would be to check the cost of each food item as they are charged ala carte. The food was definitely worth the cost though! It was delicious, and the staff worked hard to make sure that the evening went well!
