Highland Brewing Company is a craft brewery wedding venue located in Asheville, NC. This expansive and versatile property offers three event spaces suitable for everything from pre-nuptial celebrations to ceremonies and receptions. Featuring industrial-chic interiors, Ashevilleâs original craft brewery is the ideal option for couples seeking a venue with an alternative edge. Highland Brewing Company is a family-owned brewery founded in 1994 by Oscar Wong. They were one of the first breweries to open legally after prohibition and have seen impressive growth. Currently led by Oscarâs daughter, Leah Wong Ashburn, the Wong family continues to proudly lead the way in craft and southern beer. The Event Center & Rooftop features soaring high ceilings and large windows that flood the space with natural light. Accommodating up to 200 guests, it is perfect for lavish receptions. Above the Event Center, the spacious 3,000-square-foot Rooftop is an inspiring backdrop for your ceremony, boasting panoramic mountain views and a shipping container bar. The Barrel Room is a bright white minimalist space featuring exposed metal roof beams and a wall lined with barrel racks, a perfect ceremonial backdrop. This room accommodates up to 64 guests. Combined, The Event Center and Barrel Room have the capacity for up to 280 seated guests and 450 for cocktail receptions. Last but not least, their Downtown Taproom Mezzanine in the historic Art Deco S&W Cafeteria building offers amazing potential for intimate celebrations. Hosting up to 120 guests, it has everything you want for a sophisticated dinner reception. Consult the expert team at Highland Brewing Company to bring your wedding vision to life. Their on-site bar includes a wide range of Highland brews and seasonal beers on draft. You can also request a signature small batch of beer to serve at your event. Highland Brewing is such a great space! If you've never been, the event space sits somewhat separate from their taproom and meadow areas (where normal customer traffic is), and has a fantastic part rustic/part industrial feel. Weather-permitting, the ceremony on the roof was beautiful, with a backdrop of the mountains and blue skies. The staff were all very accommodating and happy to answer any questions we had. Of the venues we toured, Highland not only felt the most like \"us,\" but was also a great price compared to many places in the area. It was an easy decision at that point and we couldn't be happier with how everything went!

We didnât really want to splurge on decorations and we didnât have to because of how beautiful the Highland venue is on its own! The rooftop area was one of my absolute favorites, and it is the perfect place to have your ceremony and cocktail hour (and, of course, the inside space is absolutely stunning too if you need to move inside because of weather!) The team at Highland is also so friendly, kind, and responsive, and everyone I spoke to was so helpful during my planning. And one of the best things about Highland is you can have a special wedding beer on your wedding day! It was such a fun little addition. Overall, Highland is an absolutely fantastic wedding venue if youâre looking for something fun and unique (seriously, you can even get some awesome photos in the canning room!) in the Asheville area!

We had the best rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Highland's event center! It was so convenient to have the rehearsal dinner inside and the welcome party on the rooftop - early arrivals to the welcome party had a separate entrance so they didn't have to disturb our dinner as we were wrapping up. The Highland team makes the planning process super easy and fun! We had our own \"wedding beer\" and they leaned into the unusually warm temperatures by serving our guests popsicles and prosecco. Their A/V team coordinated our curated playlist in both event spaces and showed a photo slideshow we put together during our dinner. The spaces were the perfect size for our ~60 person dinner and ~160 person welcome party. We had the best wedding weekend kickoff here and would highly recommend hosting your event at Highland!

Highland was the perfect wedding venue for us! Our ceremony was on the roof of the event space with a beautiful view of the mountains in the background. Our reception was downstairs inside the event space. It was the perfect size for our 150 guest count. There is a bar on the roof for cocktail hour and 2 bars inside plus room for our liquor bar, which was perfect as our guests like to drink! Throughout our planning process Highland was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating of any requests/questions we had. Our coordinator, Tyler, was great! Most importantly they allowed our dog, Taco, to be in our ceremony and that meant a lot to us! We highly recommend this venue!

READ FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION. We are giving 5 stars because the day of was perfect and they had a brand new coordinator who was awesome! But just a light warning, 7 months before the wedding we were informed that a large public event would be taking place at the same time as our wedding. Our contract indicated the potential for private events but not large public ones. But we also signed over 2 years prior to the actual date, so the more recent contracts may have more specific wording. Make sure to ask about potential large public events (this was a 5k race) or check the contract for this wording in case it is a deal breaker. I think this 5k is usually in July, but my husband and I are not involved in the Asheville running scene and had no idea it existed (also were not told it was a possibility until the above mentioned 7 months before).With that, Highland was extremely accommodating, let us start earlier to avoid crowds, gave us parking spaces, and comped some decor. Don't let the above stop you from having a wedding here, just make sure to ask for these sorts of details! Our in house planner (Bailey) was new but absolutely perfect. She was super calm and organized! The venue itself was perfect, tons of places for pictures and a great all around space. The bartenders were so cool and fun too! Except for the little snafu prior to the wedding (which Highland made up for) they were the perfect venue for us!

We had our rehearsal/welcome dinner for our sonâs wedding at the Barrel Room at Highland Brewing. The space was perfect for our group of 40 people. Bailey was our venue coordinator. She was the best. Her organization and communication skills along with her positive attitude made working with her a delight. She was quick to respond and handled anything we threw at her! The catering, set up, and serving all went smoothly with her coordinating it all. The space was beautiful and the event was enjoyed by everyone. Only positive feedback from our guests.

We then headed out the beer garden afterwards with everyone to keep the party going! All of our friends and family were so impressed by the venue and how smoothly everything went. The rooftop was so unique and beautiful for the ceremony. And the hanging gardens in the barrel room make it really stand out. All of the Highland staff were so professional and organized throughout the whole process and wedding day. Tyler was our coordinator at Highland and he was awesome! He was so helpful with answering all of our questions and ensuring everything ran smoothly. He was so easy to work with and helped make our day be absolutely perfect! We couldn't be happier we chose Highland as our venue!

Exceeded expectations! We hosted our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner/welcome party in the Barrel Room, and it was the PERFECT venue. The space is beautiful, the beer was amazing and the event planners were very responsive and helpful. Nothing but very positive comments from our guests! Highly recommend!

Exceeded expectations! We hosted our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner/welcome party in the Barrel Room, and it was the PERFECT venue. The space is beautiful, the beer was amazing and the event planners were very responsive and helpful. Nothing but very positive comments from our guests! Highly recommend!

My daughter had her wedding at Highland Brewing in April. Weather allowed them to have the wedding on the roof and the reception in the event space below. It was absolutely beautiful. Our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the venue. There was ample parking for everyone and they could leave their cars overnight and catch a Lyft home.Everything was perfect. The staff at Highland paid attention to every detail we requested. They were extremely professional, responsive and accommodating. I will admit, at first I was not thrilled about my daughter having her wedding at a brewery but I was wrong. It was the ideal setting for them and our guests.

We got married on New Year's Eve and had our reception at Highland, and it was AMAZING! When we started searching for venues online, Highland was my favorite since my husband & I both love craft beer & the mountains, and I'm so glad it ended up being our fav in person as well. The space was perfect for a winter wedding / New Year's Eve party. You honestly don't need many decorations, Highland is beautiful on its own & any greenery/flowers/etc you add just elevates it even more. Like one of my friends said, \"The vibes are immaculate.\" Even though we couldn't use the rooftop for guests (winter), my husband & I got to take photos up there, which was super fun. The whole Highland team is so professional and friendly, they definitely know what they're doing and are flexible & helpful through the entire planning process. Great team & staff, awesome drinks, and a beautiful & versatile space â definitely recommend Highland to couples getting married in AVL!

The space itself was exactly what we were looking for â a rooftop venue with bistro lighting, beautiful views, delicious beer, and incredible customer service.We had the opportunity to work with Halle at Highland Brewing for organizing our welcome party. Halle exuded joy, confidence, and commitment to executing our vision in every encounter. She helped visualize the rooftop space to accommodate our guests, food, and a bluegrass band. The ambiance was everything and we were thrilled with the outcome. We highly recommend Highland!!

We loved having our wedding at Highland Brewing! It was the perfect venue for us - laid back/relaxed but equally as beautiful. We had a great experience working with the staff. We originally planned for the ceremony to be on the rooftop but due to rain, we moved it inside. The look and flow of our wedding was just as beautiful and smooth having it inside vs outside. We loved having our wedding at Highland Brewing! It was the perfect venue for us - laid back/relaxed but equally as beautiful. We had a great experience working with the staff. We originally planned for the ceremony to be on the rooftop but due to rain, we moved it inside. The look and flow of our wedding was just as beautiful and smooth having it inside vs outside. This is a fantastic wedding venue! We rented the whole event center and had our ceremony and cocktail hour on the rooftop, followed by our reception inside. Working with the coordinators beforehand was easy and you can tell that they all know what they are doing. All our guests loved the venue! And of course - great beer!

I could not recommend Highland more. Because we had to reschedule our wedding (twice!) due to covid, we had a chance to work with this amazing vendor over the course of several years. In every interaction, they were incredibly supportive and accommodating - highly organized but fun and easy to work with. We were able to see how much they've continued to invest into their spaces, and the big variety of options they now offer. We had a moderately large group (~140 people) and loved the versatility of the indoor-outdoor space, flexible layout options, and beautiful views with easy access. We also loved that they have an elevator, which was a huge help for some of our older guests. 10/10 would recommend forever!

Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful through the entire process. The location made this venue very accessible to our guests, many of which opted to stay in the Downtown area. If I could do it all over again I wouldnât change a thing!

Highland Brewing Co. will forever be a special place. We got engaged in the Beer Garden on vacation and after searching for venues in our hometown, decided what better way to celebrate than to get married at our favorite place! The event coordinators were beyond helpful with all areas of planning and setup which made our day go by without a hitch. We chose the Barrel Room for wedding reception with the rooftop for our ceremony for an intimate gathering of close friends and family. We heard nothing but praise from our guests for the amazing views the rooftop had to offer that day with weather being crystal clear. The bar staff were extremely personable and attentive to our entire party. The venue was cozy, comfortable and fulfilled all of our hopes for the wedding we always wanted. Setup and transition from the rooftop to the Barrel Room was seamless. Our dog, who got lots of love from the staff, was able to accompany us during the ceremony so our special baby could see his 2 favorite people on their big day. Nothing better than beer and brunch for our special day. We highly recommend Highland Brewing Co. for anyoneâs special event. We couldnât have asked for a better experience than this.

Booking Highland for our wedding venue was easily one of the best vendor decisions we made. We booked in April 2020 for our Dec. 2021 wedding, and were sold after Nikki spent an hour on face time with us showing us the entire event space and answering every question thoroughly and thoughtfully. Over the course of planning, we worked with Nikki Mitchell, Marissa Burns and Nicole Vega who were each so kind, responsive and accommodating in the midst of a pandemic and a booming 2021 wedding season. Every time we checked in, there was a new improvement they were working on in the space (new floors! refinished stage! new mural in the barrel room!) so it's clear they are deeply invested in their events wing. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour in the barrel room, and moved into the event space for the reception which was perfect for our ~100 person guest count. Our guests loved the space, and I can't recommend enough having a huge bar at the end of the aisle to grab a glass of champagne or a beer at the end of your recessional! Each vendor we hired raved about working with Highland, so the day-of coordination, set up and teardown was seamless. Highland set the tone for the entire event, and we're so grateful for all of their help pulling off our perfect wedding!

Highland Brewing is truly a premier wedding venue with a unique twist. You even get to pick your own small batch beer for your wedding day! They take their jobs seriously and thus take your wedding seriously. They have outstanding relationships with many local vendors and you can tell that they are respected throughout the wedding business community. Like with so many others, the pandemic created a lot of uncertainty around our wedding. We ultimately decided to postpone our wedding and hold an intimate family ceremony on our original date instead. But we still wanted to celebrate with all our friends and family once it was feasible. Nikki, who is now their Hospitality Director, didnât hesitate to do all she could to help us find a new date that would work for us. Brittany, our venue coordinator for the day, was such a gem and pleasure to work with from pre-event planning meetings all the way through the actual wedding day. And shout out to our awesome bartenders who made sure the champagne was flowing for me all night! So incredibly grateful to everyone involved for making our wedding day so special in the midst of everything.

In the winter of 2018, my fiancĂŠ and I went to the Highland Event Center for a Christmas market. After about 10 minutes of looking around and seeing the space, I mentioned to my boyfriend at the time, that I wanted to get married there! Secretly, he and my mom booked the venue for an October 2020 wedding date. When Ed proposed in April 2019, he also surprised me with the fact that the venue was booked and I couldnât be more excited! Highland was extremely accommodating when we had to change our date from October 2020 to November 2021. We worked specifically with Nicole Vega from Highland and I couldnât speak more highly of her. She was amazing! So on top of everything! We had our wedding 2 weeks ago at Highland and the event surpassed all expectations! Our band had an easy time getting their stuff into the venue and getting set up on their stage. All bartending staff was delightful to work with- professional and friendly! I would recommend Highland for any event-big or small. We had our ceremony on the roof, cocktail hour in the barrel room, and reception in the grand room. We had 165 guests but we easily could have fit more people (originally planned for 220). They also have the best beer in Asheville so you truly canât go wrong!!!

Our band had an easy time getting their stuff into the venue and getting set up on their stage. All bartending staff was delightful to work with- professional and friendly! I would recommend Highland for any event-big or small. We had our ceremony on the roof, cocktail hour in the barrel room, and reception in the grand room. We had 165 guests but we easily could have fit more people (originally planned for 220). They also have the best beer in Asheville so you truly canât go wrong!!!

The event space at Highland Brewing was absolutely perfect for our wedding celebration. We were already legally married and just wanted to have a big party to celebrate - the Highland staff was incredibly helpful and made the day perfect. We love that the venue space is already so beautiful so minimal extra decorations were needed - the rooftop ceremony/cocktail hour and reception downstairs with their huge bar and stage was just amazing. Many of our guests told us it was the best wedding they had been to! Couldn't recommend Highland enough!

Our guests enjoyed the rooftop for cocktail hour- especially as during sunset (and it made for beautiful pictures!). We had 165 guests and it fit everyone comfortably for a seated dinner with plenty of room for a huge dance floor!! Their beer was, of course, amazing, but they had some great other choices for non-beer drinkers and non-alcohol drinkers. They let you pick a small batch beer the week of your wedding and name it whatever you want. They worked easily with our outside vendors and we didn't have any issues. Thank you so much Highland for the best night!!!

Highland was the very first vendor I booked for my wedding; they were relatively new for a wedding venue at the time and so affordable for the Asheville area, and who doesn't want to get married at a brewery? Planning a wedding through the pandemic could have been very stressful (our original wedding date was June of 2020), but Melissa kept us informed about what was allowed and what wasn't and gave us up until a month before to decide if we wanted to reschedule, which we did. We still held a small ceremony on the rooftop with all of twenty people and Highland was so accommodating making it feel like a true wedding. When we went to reschedule there were only a few dates left in 2021, but we decided on July 9th and they let us keep our original price which was amazing seeing how we booked the venue nearly two years prior. Moving forward to 2021, Brittany became our coordinator from Highland and was just as helpful as Melissa. She kept us informed on what restrictions were being lifted and what Highland was doing in accordance to this. We finally got the good news that we could have a regular ole wedding with as many people as we wanted and we were thrilled! Brittany was great to work with the day of and helped my personal coordinators with any questions they had. Highland provided all of the tables, chairs, lighting and beautiful background for pictures in their pricing which I feel like is rare. Everyone loved the craft beers and the laid back atmosphere of the venue. I can't imagine a more perfect venue to celebrate two beer loving, laid back people.

Nicole and the entire team at Highland were so attentive throughout the planning process and shared updates with us almost every month. We could probably right a short story about our beyond amazing experience with and at Highland Brewing for our wedding. It all began when my (now) husband and I were at Highland for a tour a couple years ago. We walked into the event space as they were setting up for a wedding and we instantly knew that the space was perfect. The main floor of the event space is naturally stunning. The wood accents on the walls, the touch of iron and metal in the space, the chalkboard beer menu, the huge stage, and the bridal SUITE. Iâll get to that in a minute. The mezzanine overlooks the main floor and wraps around beautifully; we chose to do our cocktail hour here for guests after the ceremony while we took photos and that was such a fabulous space to utilize. Move to the third floor and you have the rooftop bar where we had our ceremony, overlooking perfectly placed mountains as our background. Let me say that we barely decorated any of the event spaceâŚ.it was THAT gorgeous on its own. What sold us on Highland for our wedding was the vast amount of space and different types of roaming areas for our guests to move from one level to the next and finally to the main floor for our reception. Every floor served a different purpose and made for simple movement of the crowds while we took photos. During our 1.5 year engagement, Highland continued to add their own improvements (none were NEEDED but they just kept making the space more attractive) to the space. They added fun and simple hanging lights to the main floor, redid the sound boards on the stage, removed sound boards from the wall which allowed the wooden accents to shine and most importantly, they built a bridal suite. Let me tell you, this is where you and your bridesmaids or groomsmen want to be the final moments before you walk down the aisle. Itâs private. Itâs comfortable. Itâs hidden. Thereâs access to a bathroom. Itâs simply perfectly placed. Our wedding planner also had a plate of food and beers waiting for my husband and I immediately after the ceremony in the suite so we could take 15 minutes to ourselves and without this space, that would not have been possible. Our guests could not stop complimenting the space. The views, the outdoor feels, indoor beauty, and ample dance space provided for the perfect trio of wedding fun. Our main contact through the entire process was Nikki and we are forever indebted to her for her out of this world customer service. Nikki helped make our dreams come true. Admittedly, we had very specifics ideas of how we wanted the space to look and Nikki listened, so patiently, and executed beyond what we could have ever imagined. She is a saint and so very talented. Nikki answered almost every question we had on the spot and if she didnât have the answer right then and there, she was in touch with us almost immediately to clarify. Her communication was second to none, her professionalism and spunky, fun demeanor truly helped make our wedding day the best day ever. My husband and I continue to say that we would relive that day any chance we could and we owe a great bit of that to Nikki. If youâre looking for a wedding venue that does not require a ton of dĂŠcor but could be amplified would it, if preferred, look no further. The space can be transformed into whatever your style is but itâs also naturally so stunning; our guests were blown away that our âbrewery weddingâ was a top-notch venue. I promise you will not be disappointed with the customer service either.

The event team was amazing, from Whitney who was so accommodating for us (including opening up the event space for us on a day the brewery was closed for snow, because we were in town for wedding planning), to the bartending team who made sure our guests were happy and we got the photos we loved. They even made SEVERAL upgrades in lighting and other stuff (brand new chairs!) in order to better serve weddings in the time between when we booked the venue and our wedding - saving us money in rentals and setting the scene for a great day! Our photographs turned out absolutely beautiful.

Highland was amazing. As a craft beer couple, it was the perfect venue for us. We got married at Highland Brewing Company this past September and the venue was just absolutely perfect. We had a destination wedding and honestly, the moment I saw the pictures, I knew Highland was the place. And it could not have been better! The rooftop is just gorgeous and was the ideal place to have our ceremony. We booked the event center and had our reception on the main level and the bar is just beautiful and makes for amazing decor itself. Plus all the beer on tap was superb! I just wish I had been able to drink more:) On top of that, the staff at Highland Brewing (from the event manager to the bartenders) is just top-notch. I cannot recommend this venue enough!
